When Mistykit was four moons, Goosestar, current leader of RiverClan, gave Shadesun another young, almost one moon old she-kit to take care of. Of course, Shadesun was surprised and confused. Who was this kit? Like most of the clan, they assumed it was Goosestar’s kit. When Shadesun asked what her name was- not one to turn away a kit in need- Goosestar almost looked caught off guard, like he hadn’t thought about it. His eyes scanned around before landing plainly on Waterkit. Shadesun always found it a simplistic, uncreative name, but it was unique, and she loved little Waterkit anyway. She and Scorchfin both swore to be the best parents to Waterkit to make up for Goosestar’s awful, neglective, manipulative and abusive parenting. Mistykit didn’t break a sweat, unbothered by his new little sister. He claimed her as his little sister quite quickly, often being the self-proclaimed best big brother by staying by her side, playing games with her, and growling at Goosestar when he approached. Mistykit was the only kit in the nursery since Goldenpaw and Dawnpaw became apprentices, after all, and he was happy for the company.

Shadesun had thought Goosestar a rude and battle-hungry leader before, but now she despised him for how he treated his own daughter. She was much more conscious of him, watching all of his moves. She saw how he conspired with the ThunderClan medicine cat, Thrushleaf, talking in hushed whispers when she was supposed to be “visiting” RiverClan medicine cat Hailfrost. She tried getting answers out of Thrushleaf, but the calico seemed to despise her, always coddling and playing with Waterkit whenever she visited and refusing to let Shadesun near. She always thought Thrushleaf might be the mother of Waterkit, but the two never bared much resemblance nor had it ever seemed like Thrushleaf was pregnant, which would be hard to hide as a medicine cat. Still, Thrushleaf was Shadesun’s only option as to Waterkit’s heritage for the longest time.

As Mistypaw became Mistypaw, and soon after Waterkit became Waterpaw, she had another litter with Scorchfin- Beechkit and Heronkit. Mistypaw and Waterpaw both loved their little brothers to the moon and back, although Goosestar often tried to keep Waterpaw away from the kits. Shadesun could swear one time she overheard Goosestar threatening that if she disobeyed him, he would kill Beechkit and Mistykit. From then on, Shadesun kept all kits and apprentices and young warriors as far away from Goosestar as she could. She told her friends, Coldsnow, Mumblesong, Oatheart, Stormbird and Hailfrost, and although Mumblesong and Stormbird seemed hesitant to believe her, they also started being more careful around Goosestar- more careful than they already were, fearful of his temper. Hailfrost had already seemed to be blackmailed by Goosestar in some way, unwilling to speak against him but the fury in her eyes were clear.

Mistypaw and Waterpaw were made warriors at the same time, despite Mistypaw being a little over three moons older than her. When her youngest litter was apprenticed, she was surprised that Goosestar apprenticed Heronpaw to Waterstream. Family didn’t typically mentor family, even if Waterstream wasn’t related to Heronpaw by blood. Plus, Goosestar had threatened to kill Heronpaw and Beechpaw if Waterstream disobeyed him. Shadesun went on nearly every patrol and to every training session she could that Waterstream and Heronpaw were on while Scorchfin went on all of Beechpaw’s. Everyone who knew about Goosestar’s threats were especially protective over the family.

When their training was nearly completed, Goosestar forced- or threatened- the elderly deputy Forestpelt to retire and made Waterstream his deputy. The clan outcried- many other senior warriors were more fit than a young warrior who hadn’t even finished training her apprentice. But Goosestar, using his status as their leader, forced them to accept his decision. The clan grew uneasy, very few giving their support to him. When Goosestar started another needless battle with Frecklestar, Shadesun convinced her friends to purposely fail. And her friends, loyal to her more than Goosestar, did so. Goosestar fought with his all, of course, unaware his clan was not giving their all. He lost a battle in that life, when he called out to Shadesun to help him take down Cloudtuft, warrior of ShadowClan, and she didn’t move a muscle to help him. The battle, of course, was lost, and Goosestar attempted to exile Shadesun after that, but the clan stayed beside her firmly, and Goosestar eventually decided to let it go, putting Shadesun on apprentice duties.

The clan was tense, almost waiting for Goosestar to lash out and kill a cat, but, then, one night, he died in his sleep, wounds marring him. Hailfrost said it appeared like he had drowned. Everyone but those who had visited the Dark Forest before was confused, Shadesun included. Waterstream became Waterstar, supported by her clan despite her nervousness. They became a new clan then, building themselves up, and half-way closing their borders off to the other clans. The clan knew more secrets lurked in the darkness, but respected that Waterstar didn’t want to talk about her trauma.

It was a surprise when it was revealed Thistlesong of SkyClan had been the mother of Waterstar, Boulderstar, Gravelstar, and Ashstone, although not as much for RiverClan, who were more aware of why Waterstar was always tense around the leaders of ThunderClan and WindClan. Shadesun was startled that Waterstar’s mother was the she-cat who had gotten caught up in a half-clan relationship, and had Silverthistle and Shadefur. But it made some sense, in a way, for the she-cat with a history of half-clan relationships to get in another one, and Thrushleaf and Thistlesong had been close friends.

Shadesun and Scorchfin soon became elders, and while Scorchfin eventually passed in his sleep, Shadesun stayed a strong and healthy elder, advising Waterstar, Mumblestar, and Applestar throughout their leaderships. She was well-respected among RiverClan, and the other clans as well.

Willowkit, Hollykit and Tansykit were born to Hailfrost, medicine cat of RiverClan, when she was out of the clan territories. There, Hailfrost made an irreversible choice- To kill her own kits. She had thought of leaving them there to starve, but she thought it was even crueler. She had hoped to find a loner to give her kits to, but she had no luck. So, with great heaviness, she killed the newly born trio, after naming them.

In StarClan, the young kits for a long time didn’t really understand much, just that their mother had killed them, and that was bad. But as they ‘grew up’- mentally, if not physically- they began to understand the truth and the crimes. Even though Willowkit wanted nothing to do with her mother, and Tansykit was too scared, Hollykit was curious, and he often would sit and watch his mother. To him, she never looked like a killer, not like all the other evil cats the other StarClanners watched. She was angry, temperamental, yes, but when you caught her alone… she looked sad.

Hollykit grew to understand and sympathize with Hailfrost’s situation, but it was when she got young Briarpaw as an apprentice that hate grew within him. Hailfrost treated her apprentice like her son, and it made him feel like he had meant nothing- that she really was a heartless killer. So, filled with rage, he and his siblings would haunt and yell at her in her dreams. This went on and on, before Hollykit’s rage slowly waned, and he saw the crying, miserable she-cat in front of him again, saying sorry, truly. But this time he was hardened, and he wouldn’t forgive her. He stopped haunting her, but still watched her.

It was when she was killed, fighting off rogues who had killed her leader and her kits’ half-sister, Waterstar, that Hollykit felt his sympathy for her regrow. When her trail came as to whether she would be let into StarClan or go to the Dark Forest, he was one of the only ones to defend her, although his opinion meant little as a “kit”. His siblings disagreed with him, Willowkit adamantly fighting for her going to the Dark Forest. Her famous words, “The only good thing she ever did was give birth to us.”

“...But she killed us?”

“Exactly.”

As for Tansykit’s reason for her going to the Place of No Stars, he stated, “While it surely couldn’t have been an easy choice, it was a choice she made nevertheless.” Unfortunately for Hollykit, and him constantly saying that Goosestar was far, far worse than her, and that it was his fault, the decision was made- Hailfrost would go to the Dark Forest. After all, once you’ve killed a kit, there’s no going back.

Hollykit would often sit near the Dark Forest border, and once, he even glimpsed his mother before she ran away.

Fun Facts: They gave Waterstar a life, and Hollykit often dreamed of his warrior name being Hollyfrost, after his mother. He thought Willowkit’s might be Willowfang with how ‘sharp’ she could be, and Tansykit’s would be Tansycloud, after his pelt and his ‘soft’ personality.

As most kits are, Honeykit and Thrushkit started out as thick as thieves. But young Thistlekit started to change that as Thrushkit found herself admiring the she-kit. Thistlekit took notice of the white kit’s infatuation of her, and used it to get what she wanted, often treating Thrushkit similar to a slave. While Honeykit tried to tell Thistlekit to stop ordering her sister around, and for Thrushkit to stop following the other kit’s orders, neither listened to her. Thistlekit suggested to Thrushkit she become a medicine cat so she could learn about herbs, to which Thrushkit eagerly agreed. While Thrushpaw had never been all that interested in the medicine cat position, she found herself surprised to enjoy being a medicine cat far past the joy of having Thistlepaw’s praise.

Thrushpaw helped Thistlepaw sneak out and get out of apprentice duties often, even helping her meet RiverClan deputy Gooseshade. Thrushpaw never raised a paw against Thistlepaw and her growing schemes, instead helping her in every way possible. She felt proud to be Thistlepaw’s trusted and loyal confidant and companion. The two were often known as inseparable, which often made Honeypaw sad and jealous, but Thrushpaw heeded her sister little to no mind. She and Thistlepaw viewed as Honeypaw as not worth their time, far too much of a warrior code stickler, and a dumb follower of StarClan with no eye for the bigger picture.

As they became Thrushleaf and Thistlesong respectively, Thistlesong gave birth to her first litter of kits, their father being Gooseshade- now Goosestar. Unfortunately, due to Thistlesong being so young and inexperienced, all of the kits were still-born except for one, Waterkit, which Thrushleaf fought desperately to save. Thrushleaf helped raised her like she was her own daughter. Then, when the time came to hand Waterkit over to Goosestar so he could raise her to be deputy and eventual leader of RiverClan, Thrushleaf found herself saddened to see the little she-kit go, but she fought of the feelings. She got to see Waterkit a good amount of times anyway by saying she was going to RiverClan to talk to their medicine cat, Hailfrost, when in reality she was relaying messages between Goosestar and Thistlesong. Although, Thrushleaf would bring little gifts and toys for Waterkit to play with, and even snuck away to watch her apprentice and warrior ceremonies. She had even been shocked but thoroughly pleased when Waterkit had expressed interest in being a medicine cat- even though her father quickly stomped those dreams out of her in favor of being a warrior loyal to him.

Thistlesong’s next litter was with Driftleap of WindClan, their kits being Boulderkit, Gravelkit and Ashkit. To raise less suspicion than Waterkit’s disappearance, they planned their birth to be outside of camp, where they lied and said all the kits had died. Secretly, they raised them just outside of SkyClan territory, forcing a rogue she-cat named Autumn to nurse the tom-kits. When they were old enough and knew their mother’s plan, the kits were given to different clans. ThunderClan, WindClan and ShadowClan respectively. Thistlesong ordered Thrushleaf to murder Autumn, who she believed had grown too attached to the kits and could reveal their secret. Thrushleaf was hesitant to do so, as this would be her first murder, but she eventually stuffed deathberries into Autumn’s fresh-kill. Thrushleaf left before she could watch Autumn die, not wanting to watch a cat convulse and die.

Thistlesong’s last litter came, their father being Morningcloud of ShadowClan, as she gave birth to Silverkit and Shadekit, both healthy she-kits that survived without problem. The problems, rather, came with their father, who desperately wanted to join SkyClan and be apart of his daughters’ lives. He begged Honeystar- who had become leader, much to Thrushleaf and Thistlesong’s utmost surprise- to let him into SkyClan, but they politely refused. The reveal that Thistlesong’s kits were half-clan stirred up controversy, and Thistlesong’s previously pristine reputation as the poor queen who had lost her kits had been brought into question. One day, while Morningcloud was looking at his reflection in the water, Thistlesong and Thrushleaf appeared behind him, and the two she-cats drowned him in the water. Thrushleaf, much like her last murder, couldn’t watch as she commited the act, turning her gaze away and pretending not to hear his gargled screams.

As they teach Silverpaw and Shadepaw of their plans, Silverpaw seemed hesitant while Shadepaw seemed extremely eager to follow through. Thistlesong notes with disdain that Honeystar is probably tainting Silverpaw’s, her apprentice, mind with her code-following ways. Still, Silverpaw seems to want to stay close to her sister, practically following her every pawstep, so she listened to her mother’s orders. Thistlesong planned to make Shadepaw leader of SkyClan, making Silverpaw deputy. They began to plot the murder of Honeystar and Coilspring, current deputy. Their plotting all came crashing down as, a day before Silverpaw and Shadepaw’s warrior ceremonies, Thistlesong was murdered and left in the river exactly where Morningcloud had been drowned, a deep slash across her neck. Thrushleaf’s whole world seem to crash around her, all their careful planning ruined and the love of her life dead.

Thistlesong, of course, visited Thrushleaf in her dreams, telling her Silverpaw had murdered her. Thrushleaf was enraged. As Shadepaw and Silverpaw were named Shadefur and Silverthistle, named after her mother under Thrushleaf’s request so Silverthistle would always remember her crimes, the two sisters began fighting, their close relationship that slowly been fracturing finally cracking into pieces. Shadefur, as she didn’t believe in StarClan, couldn’t be visited by Thistlesong and didn’t believe Thrushleaf was really seeing her either, believing she was delusional because her love had died. Shadefur was perhaps even more enraged than Thrushleaf, claiming she’d make her own plans to rule the forest now. She murdered Coilspring, and, completely expecting to be picked as the next deputy, was deeply angered and shocked when Silverthistle was instead. In a rage, she attacked her sister on the spot, and then was exiled from SkyClan. Thrushleaf attempted to contact the newly made rogue a few times, but was scared off when, to her surprise, she found Shadefur talking to fellow rogues, among them Autumn.

Thrushleaf plotted the murder of Silverthistle via deathberries in her fresh-kill, when, unexpectedly, her meek and timid apprentice, Snakepaw, switched out her and Silverthistle’s fresh-kill, making Thrushleaf eat the deathberries planned for her victim. Thrushleaf had never felt more shocked, terrified and pained as she poisoned herself on her own deathberries. In the Dark Forest, Thrushleaf rarely left Thistlesong’s side. She could not face her mother, Bristlelight, when she attempted to cross into the Dark Forest to express her disappointment and concern for her daughter, nor did she visit StarClan when Waterstar passed despite wanting too.

My Allegiances - Before the Start

These are the allegiances of the clans before the start of my “Generations” allegiances! Mainly known as “Sparrowdawn’s generation” in my head and "Generations Reversed" in my notes XD Might not be 100% right timewise.

ThunderClan:

Poppystar is current leader of ThunderClan. She is the mother to Hollystripe, and mates with Hazeldust, a blind tom who has since retired to the elder’s den alongside his sister, Tigerstripe. Bluetail is another elder, the father of Spiketail, who is the mother of Amberheart and Archflight, the newly made warriors. Hollystripe is currently a queen, mother to Shiningblaze’s kits, Cloudykit and Harekit. Shiningblaze is the brother to Sorrelfoot, and they are the kits of Sweetcloud and Furzepelt, who is the clan deputy. Smokeface is the mother of Snowpaw, who is mentored by Sweetcloud, and Sootpaw, by Robinface. Robinface is the mother of Mousepaw, who is mentored by Spiketail, and Leafpaw, who is mentored by Sorrelfoot. Nutpaw is mentored by Furzestep, and Boulderpaw, secret son of Thistlesong of SkyClan and Driftleap of WindClan, by Smokeface.

Nutpaw and Boulderpaw grew up close together like brothers, as they were both orphans. Nutpaw’s parents ran away to explore the world, and Boulderpaw was found as what ThunderClan assumed to be a loner’s abandoned kit. Leafpaw eventually gets her medicine cat name, Leafpuddle, but she dies before the start of the first generations allegiances.

ShadowClan: 

Frecklestar is current leader of ShadowClan, and the mother of Sagepaw, mentored by Quailfoot, Haypaw, by Cloudtuft, and Cloverpaw, by Spottedjay. Dewfeather is current deputy, and mates with Tansyleg, Stumpywhisker and Bumblebranch, who are the children of Strongbreeze, a warrior, and Paletalon, the youngest elder. Bumblebranch was the medicine cat apprentice under Hawkhollow. Hawkhollow is the brother of Quailfoot, and they are the offspring of Beetlespots and Cloudtuft. Cloudtuft is the brother to Morningcloud, and they are the kits of Silverspring and Brownpetal, who are both elders. Strongbreeze and Spottedjay are sisters, and their father is Windclaw, a tom who’s father was in WindClan and mother was in ShadowClan, giving them WindClan blood. Twigclaw is a queen, and nursing her sons, Flowerkit and Sneezekit. Sparrowpaw, mentored by Strongbreeze, is the daughter of Quailfoot and Deerflame, a former kittypet. Ashpaw, the secret son of Thistlesong of SkyClan and Driftleap of WindClan, is mentored by Morningcloud.

Tansyleg and Stumpywhisker are the newest warriors. Sneezekit and Flowerkit are close to becoming apprentices. Ashpaw and Sparrowpaw are close friends with crushes on each other. Morningcloud knows that Ashpaw is Thistlesong's. He dotes over him a lot. Morningcloud wants to go to SkyClan to be with his kits but Thistlesong refuses to let him.

WindClan:

The current leader of WindClan is Scorchstar, mate to Finchstem and mother to Leafsong. Finchstem is brothers with Lynxeyes, the clan medicine cat, and they are the children of Maplestream and Snowbee. Leafsong is mates with Cherrywhisper, and they are both the newest warriors. Tawnyswipe is expecting Russetspring's kits. Tawnyswipe is littermates with Fleetwhisker, and they are the kits of Nettlemoon and Blacksnarl. Blacksnarl also has a daughter named Rosepaw, mentored by Snowbee. Driftleap and Russetspring are the sons of Lilyleap (deceased; in StarClan) and Strikeheart, an elder. The other elder is a former loner who had a lone kit and seeked refuge in WindClan. Her name is Pool, and her son is Ferretpaw, mentored by Blacksnarl. Gravelpaw, mentored by Finchstem, is the secret son of Driftleap and Thistlesong of SkyClan.

Gravelpaw, Ferretpaw and Rosepaw are all very close as single, lone kits. Rosepaw never knew her mother, but it was always assumed her mother was a loner or kittypet.

RiverClan:

Goosestar is the current leader of RiverClan, and the father to Waterstream, who's mother is Thistlesong of SkyClan. Waterstream was made a warrior early, and is currently mentoring Heronpaw, brother to Beechpaw, mentored by Coldsnow, and Mistyleap. They are the kits of Shadesun and Scorchfin. Waterstream's mentor was Sunthroat, who is the brother of Stormbird and the son of Violetwhisker, one of the elders. Hailfrost is the medicine cat, and she is sisters with Oatheart, and they are the daughters of Clawmoon (deceased; in neither StarClan or Dark Forest). Coldsnow and Mumblesong are mates. Goldenmask and Dawnstripe are sisters, and daughters of Forestpelt, the deputy. Muddyfeather recently retired to the elders' den. Her daughter is Minkpaw, mentored by Dawnstripe.

Goosestar eventually forces Forestpelt to retire to the elders' den and makes Waterstream his deputy.

SkyClan:

Sharpstar is current leader of SkyClan. She took over once her mate, Pouncestar, died. They are the parents of Thistlesong, who is currently nursing Shadekit and Silverkit, daughters of Morningcloud, but she is also the mother to Waterstream, daughter of Goosestar, Gravelpaw, Boulderpaw and Ashpaw, sons of Driftleap. Honeysplash is current deputy, and sisters to Thrushleaf, clan medicine cat. They are the daughters of Bristlelight (deceased; StarClan). Acornleaf is mates with Auburnheart (deceased; StarClan), and mother to Fuzzybird and Bramblespeck. Bramblespeck is mates with Littlestep. Rainwish and Berryleaf, clan elders, are the parents of Coilspring and Plumheart. Coilspring is the father of Daisypaw, mentored by Acornleaf, and Lichenpaw, by Fevernose. Fevernose is the father of Seedpaw, mentored by Honeysplash.

Sharpstar is suspicious of Thistlesong. Her previous litters had "died", and she now has a third. No one knows who the father(s) is/are. Thrushleaf fiercely defends Thistlesong. The apprentices, Daisypaw, Lichenpaw and Seedpaw, are all close to one another.

He was the last born of his litter with a dead eye. But despite that, his blind side never hindered him in anyway. His sisters played with him just as rough as with each other and his mother and father treated him the same. Some of clanmates feared he wouldn’t make a great warrior due to his dead eye, but the medicine cat Hailfrost would always tell them off. Briarkit always leaned towards the medicine cat den, fascinated by herbs and StarClan, and by Hailfrost’s blunt manner. It was no surprise when he was appointed Hailfrost’s apprentice. He was a natural, earning his full medicine cat name faster than most.

His sister, Fernpaw, had drowned in the river while trying to catch fish, leaving him and his family devastated. He requested to be named after her, gaining the name Briarfern. Some time later, his mentor also died, not too long after the current leader, Waterstar. Hailfrost had been killed by rogues, although she had taken two down with her. Many moons later Briarfern got his apprentice, Bouncepaw. Halfway through his training, Briarfern unfortunately gets caught in a fox trap. He managed to get the fox trap out of the ground and run back to camp. Bouncepaw didn’t know what to do, and Briarfern ended up choking on his own blood. He watched mournfully but happily from StarClan as Brackenwillow of WindClan took over Bouncepaw’s training.

Fun Fact: Briarfern was best friends with Snakeberry of SkyClan.

ThunderClan and SkyClan Allegiances During Smokeface and Thistlesong's Apprenticeships

Poppystar is currently leader of ThunderClan, with her brother, Ravenfur, as deputy. Their sister, Nightshade, is the current medicine cat. They are the kits of Newtfang, one of the elders. Nightshade's apprentice is Sorrelpaw, sister to Shiningpaw, daughter to Sweetcloud and Furzestep. Sweetcloud's father is Rattail, the other elder of ThunderClan, and she is the sister of Sootmask. Sootmask is the father to Smokepaw, who's mother's name was Needlecloud (deceased; in StarClan). Onestream is the father to Robinpaw. Robinpaw is being mentored by Bluetail, who is the father to Spiketail. Spiketail is currently nursing her kits, Amberkit and Archkit, as well as Poppystar and Hazeldust's single surviving daughter, Hollykit. Dappleddusk is the mother to Hazeldust and Tigerstripe. Shiningpaw is being mentored by Tigerstripe while Smokepaw is trained by Ravenfur.

Smokepaw was originally trained as a medicine cat apprentice under Nightshade. Some argument appeared to have taken place, though, and Smokepaw requested to be a warrior's apprentice instead. Sorrelpaw, who had desperately wanted to be a medicine cat apprentice as a kit, volunteered to trade places with Smokepaw. Rattail was formerly the warrior Ratheart and leader Ratstar, but he retired on his last life. He suffers from serious burns, most notably on his tail and face.

Pouncestar, who’s apprentice is Honeypaw, is currently leader of SkyClan, with his mate, Sharpsong, as deputy. Appletail, sister to Bristlelight, is current medicine cat, with Thrushpaw as her apprentice. Bristlelight is the mother to Thrushpaw and Honeypaw. Pouncestar and Sharpsong are the parents of Thistlepaw. Rainwish and Berryleaf have recently retired, as their kits, Plumheart and Coilspring, have been made warriors. Littlestep, Bramblespeck and Fuzzybird have also recently been made warriors. Bramblespeck and Fuzzybird are the offspring of Acornleaf, who is mentor to Thistlepaw, and Auburnheart.

Pouncestar will eventually die, making Sharpstar leader, and Auburnheart will be made deputy. Honeypaw’s training will continue under Fevernose.

Rosestar, sister to Hailfrost (medicine cat) and Oatheart, is currently leader of RiverClan, with Gooseshade as deputy, but she will soon be killed. Driftpaw, Rustpaw, Fleetpaw and Tawnypaw are currently apprentices of WindClan, with Driftpaw being mentored by Nettlemoon, and Fleetpaw by Maplestream.

Waterstar, daughter of Thistlesong of SkyClan (deceased; in the Dark Forest) and Goosestar of RiverClan (deceased; in the Dark Forest), is current leader of RiverClan. Her deputy is Sunthroat, brother to Stormbird and son of Violetwhisker (deceased; in StarClan). Hailfrost, sister to Oatheart and daughter of Clawmoon (deceased; in StarClan), is current medicine cat. Mistyleap is the older brother of Beechpelt and Heronflight, and the son of Shadesun and Scorchfin. Mumblesong is mates with Coldsnow, and they are the parents of Briarkit, Fernkit, Jaggedkit and Applekit. Dawnstripe and Goldenmask are the daughters of Forestpelt (deceased; in StarClan). Goldenmask is currently expecting Heronflight’s kits. Minkstep is the daughter of Muddyfeather, the clan elder. Buzzardpaw, mentored by Beechpelt, and Larchpaw, mentored by Mumblesong, are the daughters of Goldenmask and Heronflight.

Muddyfeather, the elder, dies after a moon of being ill with terrible bellyache and coughing fits. Larchpaw and Buzzardpaw become Larchstripe and Buzzardstorm. Coldsnow returns to her warrior duties as her kits become apprentices. Briarpaw is trained by Hailfrost, while Applepaw is mentored by Scorchfin, Jaggedpaw by Minkstep, and Fernpaw by Sunthroat. Goldenmask gives birth to Yellowkit and Petalkit, both toms.

While out on patrol, Fernpaw dives into the river to catch a fish, only to get stuck between some rocks as the current picks up. Sunthroat and Buzzardstorm both jump in after her, but both Fernpaw and Buzzardstorm drown while Sunthroat manages to cling to the riverbed and live. Fernpaw’s siblings get their new names a moon later, with Briarpaw requesting his name be Briarfern after his sister. Jaggedpaw becomes Jaggedstripe, and Applepaw becomes Applewish. Goldenmask returns to her warrior duties as her kits become apprentices, Yellowpaw being mentored by Larchstripe and Petalpaw by Mistyleap. Scorchfin and Shadesun both retire to the elders’ den together. Oatheart gives birth to Sunthroat’s kits, Meadowkit and Gorsekit, while Minkstep gives birth to Beechpelt’s kits, Vinekit, Amberkit and Rapidkit. When ShadowClan comes to RiverClan for help fighting BoneClan and ThunderClan, Waterstar follows her older half-brother Gravelstar’s lead, wishing to stay out of it, not wanting to get caught up further in her family’s drama after all her father, Goosestar’s, manipulation.

Stormbird, Coldsnow, Dawnstripe and Heronflight all catch a bad case of greencough and are unable to recover as the medicine cats can’t find enough catmint. Gorsepaw, Thrushkit, Minkstep and Petalstorm all survive greencough. Hailfrost catches greencough herself while treating the patients and currently still has it. Before catching greencough, Petalpaw was made a warrior names Petalstorm alongside his brother, Yellowpatch. Gorsekit became Gorsepaw, mentored by Waterstar, along with his brother Meadowpaw, who is mentored by Goldenmask. Oatheart returned to her warrior duties, as well as Minkstep. Minkstep’s kits became apprentices too. Vinepaw is mentored by Sunthroat, Amberpaw by Mumblesong, and Rapidpaw by Jaggedstripe. Applewish gives birth to Yellowpatch’s kits, Foxkit and Thrushkit.

Sunthroat gets killed by a fox trap after saving Rockykit, Perchkit and Creekkit. Mumblesong becomes the new deputy of RiverClan. Oatheart dies from greencough. The apprentices become warriors named Meadowleaf, Gorsesun, Vinelight, Amberstream, and Rapidshine. Applewish returns to being a warrior as her kits become apprentices, Foxpaw mentored by Minkstep and Thrushpaw by Goldenmask. Larchstripe gives birth to Meadowleaf’s kits, Rockykit, Perchkit and Creekkit.

Goldenmask dies from greencough. The apprentices become warriors, Foxskip and Thrushspots. Larchstripe returns to her warrior duties as her kits become apprentices, Rockypaw mentored by Vinelight, Perchpaw by Mistyleap and Creekpaw by Gorsesun. Rapidshine gives birth to Petalstorm’s kits, Berrykit, Twigkit and Ivykit. Jaggedstripe moves into the nursery expecting Tuftfrost of ShadowClan’s kits.

Scorchfin passes away in his sleep while his son, Beechpelt, dies from a dog attack a few days later. Larchstripe, Petalstorm and Rockypaw are briefly taken by Two-legs before being rescued. Rockypaw earns his warrior name shortly after, becoming Rockyfoot alongside his siblings, Creekwillow and Perchfreeze. Rapidshine returns to her warrior duties as her kits become apprentices, Berrypaw mentored by Creekwillow, Twigpaw by Vinelight, and Ivypaw by Meadowleaf. Twigpaw and Hollypaw of ShadowClan begin secretly meeting at the border. Jaggedstripe gives birth to Tuftfrost’s daughters, Longkit and Sagekit. Foxskip moves into the nursery expecting Perchfreeze’s kits.

Rockyfoot decides he liked being a kittypet and leaves the clan to be one. Petalstorm gets hit by a monster (car) while following him. Gorsesun dies while scaring away the dog that killed Beechpelt. The apprentices become warriors named Ivyfall, Twigstorm and Berryshine. Jaggedstripe returns to being a warrior as her kits become apprentices, Longpaw mentored by Applewish and Sagepaw by Thrushspots. Foxskip gives birth to Perchfreeze’s daughter, Mousekit.

Larchstripe dies from greencough. Vinelight disappears one day and a patrol goes out to look for him. Their scent leads them to a group of wild rogues who attack them, wounding Waterstar deeply. The rogues leave, Vinelight among them. Waterstar dies of blood loss later on. Mumblesong becomes Mumblestar, leader of RiverClan. He appoints Minkstep as deputy. The apprentices become warriors named Longfoot and Sagefrost. Foxskip returns to her warrior duties as her daughter becomes an apprentice, Mousepaw, trained by Rapidshine. Thrushspots gives birth to Amberstream’s kits, Beechkit, Eggkit and Dewkit. Berryshine gives birth to Creekwillow’s kits, Rushkit, Sedgekit and Bouncekit.

Meadowleaf dies while defending Mousepaw from a fox. A few moons later, Mousepaw becomes a warrior named Mousehop. Thrushspots and Berryshine return to their warrior duties as their kits become apprentices, Rushpaw trained by Perchfreeze, Sedgepaw by Applewish, Bouncepaw by Briarfern, Beechpaw by Jaggedstripe, Eggpaw by Foxskip, and Dewpaw by Sagefrost. Longfoot gives birth to Ivyfall’s kits, Gingerkit and Tumblekit.
