It’s been a while since I drew handsome men lol.

I started reading again and the first book series I read was The Tiger’s Curse. There is something about reading 2010s YA novels that is both healing and infuriating. Like what do you mean you’re mad about TWO whole Indian tiger princes being in love with you??? Like girl make a schedule and just let them both fawn over you!

Anyway, it’s probably kinda niche but here are Princes Ren and Kishan for your enjoyment. If you haven’t read the series then just enjoy these handsome men anyway.

There's a long and involved stilted story related by Mr. Kadam about the many convoluted ways things happened so the book could keep Ren and Kishan's parents Excellent People with absolutely no mistakes made on their part ever, all while underlining Deschen's Innate Femininity and shit. Like, I'm not sure I can convey to you all the little things and it takes multiple pages, but moments include:

Deschen screaming and being 'protected' from her sons as tigers

Deschen forgoing whatever tiny bit of political power Rajaram (Ren's dad) let her have (which we have discussed in a previous post was SHOCKINGLY LITTLE for the time) to play happy homemaker with her tiger sons and Mr Kadam

Deschen having a vegetable garden while her sons hunted

Deschen dying of despair when her husband died, right before which she had a habit of crying into Mr Kadam's arms or whatever (honestly in a different book I might think it was implying that Mr Kadam and Deschen were having an affair but no)

Anyway there's just a whole lot of tiny things and turns of phrase that make Deschen sound like a white suburban housewife wet dream. It bothers me.

Oh and we can't let a single chapter go by without someone telling Kelsey that her simple existence is a glorious life changing event for everyone who meets her

“You have gone a long way toward healing all of us, Miss Kelsey. Rajaram would have been delighted by you, and Deschen would have wept at your feet for giving her sons’ lives back. Don’t let yourself doubt for a moment that you are right for this family or right for Ren.”

Do you see what I mean about how the book talks about Deschen though (also why does Mr Kadam call all these royals by their first names only that just seems weird to me)

Cuidado SPOILER! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lembro-me que conheci a saga em 2013. O livro "A Maldição do Tigre" foi encontrado em uma parteleira na biblioteca pública da minha cidade. O livro estava rasgado, as folhas amassadas e amareladas. Mas me apaixonei pela sipnose no que comecei a ler. A personagem principal não me agradou de imediato, Kelsey (como muitas leitoras que acompanharam a Saga sabem) ela é cheia "mimimi" e de "não me toque" (como muitas dizem). No entanto, a personagem foi me conquistando no decorrer do livro. Ren é incrível e o irmão mais novo... Bem, ele sempre foi o meu personagem preferido. E lendo o último agora tenho a certeza absoluta que escolhi o irmão certo #TeamKishanSempre. Esperei o último livro por 5 anos, foram 5 anos esperando a continuação e sinceramente? Valeu a pena. Kishan amadureceu, e Ana é uma mulher forte do jeitinho que eu gosto. Eu chorei muito com o final, é bastante emocionante, estava esperando um final mais bonitinho com reencontros e aquele clichêzinho que eu amo. Não esperava uma morte tão solitária para o Kishan, apesar de ter uma vida grandiosa e feliz ao lado da deusa. A despedida de Kishan e Ren foi torturante para mim, eu sempre sonhei com a união entre os irmãos (que autora não trabalhou muito bem nos outros livros e isso me deixou muito triste). O livro é ótimo, Collen me fez queimar a língua hahahaha Eu estou em lágrimas, realmente um livro que tocou meu coração. Me mostrando que não devemos fugir do nosso destino, tudo tem o seu tempo e o que é para ser nosso: Chegará! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (...) Se o destino piedoso julgar, minha alma especial e redimida.
