So what do I like so much about Gavin? Well, I think it's mainly how he cares so much about MC. Like he spends so much time worrying about her, more than the other LIs, it makes me all sofffttt inside. Lucien is a creep, Victor is more like "You need to stand up for yourself" and Kiro is the fun friend. Gavin is the best friend that will always care for you, no matter what.

You can see that from the very beginning. When MC meets Gavin and shows a bit of her bias, Gavin brushes it off. MC is a bit awkward with him but he's still kind to her, even if it would make sense that he would take it as offense. And after that it gets more and more amazing: Gavin calls MC on so many times to see how she is, and is always there for her. I just love this part, when Gavin hears something off about MC's voice and asks her what's wrong, to which she answers:

Like just from her voice Gavin can tell that something's wrong, and he asks her what it is. And he doesn't let it go, because he cares about her so much. I just abahaudhs. XD

I think the reason Gavin gets me so much while Jaime didn't (sorry Jaime! ❤) is because of his relationship with MC. Jaime and MC were best friends for years- there's no doubt about that. They would always be really close. The only uncertain aspect in theur relationship is what kind of closeness they share- whether romantic or platonic.

With Gavin, on the other hand, everything is so much more complicated. He knows MC sees him as a friend, but he doesn't know how much of a close friend. He doesn't know how much MC would do for him, but he still gives her nonetheless. Jaime would always know that MC would give him as much as she could, but Gavin doesn't have anything close to this guarentee.

But he still gives her SO MUCH. It makes me so soft. 😍

And the part in one of the previous City Stroll quests when he describes her music as warm? Ahhhh =D

Music is one of the purest ways a person can express themselves and who they truly are. And he listens to the tune and says it's so warm. Ahhh he truly loves her.

Anyway... now the more problematic side of Gavin. What are his disadvantages?

So ok. I don't know him that well, but from what I do know of him I would say that Gavin is very forceful. You can see that in one of the past City Stroll quests when he gets angry at an innocent passerby who accidentally pushes MC. But what really bothered me was a scene from one of his dates (I think it's called 'Starry Date' in case anyone reading this doesn't want spoilers).

In a way, Gavin and Kiro are complete opposites:

Gavin is a broody guy who would do anything for the people he cares about, and Kiro is a sweet and charming guy who's kind to everyone.

Gavin is more devoted, but that's only because he sees only a few people as part of his world, and he would give them the world. Kiro, on the other hand, sees everyone as part of his world, so he may not do as much to the people he's really close to.

Both of them are shy: Gavin doesn't talk much about the way he feels, preferring to show it through actions rather than words. Kiro, on the other hand, gets shy when he says something nice that means a lot more to him than just a kind sentence. For example, when he says sweet sentences about how important MC is to him.

I just think that part was a bit too much, even if he meant well. 

Like he attacks her like that just to teach her that lesson. Don't get me wrong, he has a point, but I didn't like how forcefully he did that.

So yup, so far Gavin's main disadvantage in my eyes is how quickly he can resort to physical violence.

Now... final question! In real life, would I be closer to Gavin or Kiro?

Okay. So in order to drag out the suspense I'm first going to analyze both of them.

Anyway, that's a bit of comparison! Now time to answer: would I get along better with Kiro or Gavin?

In all honesty, I think I would much more likely get along with Kiro. Irl I would take Gavin's aloofness probably as anti-socialness, so I wouldn't really try to get to know him. Kiro, on the other hand, I would more likely approach. A kind guy who's sweet and caring and sees me as important enough to spend time with? I would never say no to that! =)

The only reason I may have picked Gavin above Kiro is the potential of deep conversations. But I believe Kiro could also talk with me about deep topics, so IRL I would 90% choose Kiro. ;)

Kiro x Reader

“I needed you! I needed you!”

Video game nights with Kiro were usually so laid back. They were calm and filled with laughter, sometimes throwing candies or popcorn at one another. They started out as an alternative to going out on dates since it was hard for Kiro to properly take you out without getting spotted. Even the best disguises could be seen through if someone got a good look at him. Kiro was the sweetheart that was sweeping the nation. His fans could spot him easily. His disguises weren’t meant to keep him out and about for long periods of time. Just to help him go places quickly without being mobbed.

Tonight was not your typical game night. Tonight Kiro had suggested that you two co-op a game together instead of playing against each other. Work together! 

“It’ll be fun, Mx* Chips!” Your boyfriend had said, ready to pull the puppy eyes on you if you still didn’t agree. Of course, you had agreed to it. How could you deny such a bright and happy smile?

Oh if only you had known what was to come.

Kiro was usually such a happy gamer to play with. He wasn’t the type to get angry or be petty. He liked playing fair and he liked just playing to have fun. But those had not been co-op games.

“I needed you! I needed you!” He groaned and dropped his controller.

Playing co-op was a mistake

“I’m sorry, babe!” You button mashed, hoping you could make a comeback long enough to revive your boyfriend. Which didn’t happen. You also got killed.

Now that the game returned to the menu screen, you set your controller down and crawled into Kiro’s lap.

“Kiroooo.” You poked out your bottom lip, trying to get him to look at your face. 

You could tell he was trying not to look. You both knew he would immediately start to gush over you if he looked at your face. He wasn’t really angry at you. Sometimes he just got really into his video games and could actually be a sore loser. Who would have thought, right? 

“Kirooooo,” you tried again. This time you gently moved his face with your hands. “How about we play something else? Something that isn’t stressful and we can both have fun with? I don’t think this was a good idea.”

His frumpy frown broke the second he looked at your face. He wrapped his arms around your waist, pressing his lips against your jaw. “I know a few things we could do, Mx. Chips.”

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE S2 PREQUEL

Those "doctors" are gonna have hell to pay, that's for sure. How dare they do this to my Kiro (ﾉಥ益ಥ)ﾉ

Little bit of a ramble, but the courage that this boy has 😭 MC may have been Kiro's source of light, but it was Kiro's choice to light up the lives of those around him, despite being immersed in darkness all his life.

But he never told anyone of the prices he had to pay in the process, and never asked for anything in return except for MC to be happy. I'm just so- 😭😭😭

And what's worse is that MC STILL doesn't know about a lot of what he's done for her (even half the MLQC players don't T-T)

I really hope there's a way that she'll know someday :')
