William Shatner is a shithead, yes. And he is also a good actor! Jim Carrey’s 1994 caricature may have embedded itself forever in pop culture, but give credit where it’s due. James Kirk draws tears in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984). This film is bursting at the seams with all the heart a Trekkie can sop up. Great laughs, suspense, tragedy, and all-for-one heroism. It really is a fantastic movie. And Christopher Lloyd delivers perfection as a Klingon!

Congrats to the ultimate winner of the Hot & Vintage Movie Men Tournament, Mr. Toshiro Mifune! May he live happily and well where the sun always shines, enjoying the glories of a battle hard fought.
A loving farewell to all of our previous contestants, who are now banished to the shadow realm and all its dark joys and whispered horrors—I hear there's a picnic on the village green today. If you want to remember the fallen heroes, you can find them all beneath the cut.
What happens next? I'll be taking a break of two weeks to rest from this and prep for the Hot & Vintage Ladies Tournament. I'll still be around but only minimally, posting a few last odes to the hot men before transitioning into a little early ladies content, just like I did with this last tournament. The submission form for the Hot & Vintage Ladies tournament will remain up for one more week (closing February 21st), so get your submissions in for that asap! Once the form closes, there will be one more week of break. The first round of the Hot & Vintage Ladies Tournament will be posted on February 29th, as Leap Year Day seems like a fitting allusion to leaping into these ladies' arms.
Thanks for being here! Enjoy the two weeks off, and send me some great propaganda.

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock was released on June 1, 1984. Producers were reluctant to let Leonard Nimoy direct, who had never directed a feature film, but he refused to return as Spock if they didn't. The bad guys were originally going to be Romulans, but changed to Klingons. They kept the Romulan bird of prey ship instead of spending the funds to build a Klingon ship. Due to a contract pay dispute, Robin Curtis took over the role of Saavik from Kirstie Alley. In order to save the thought dead Spock and avenge Kirk's murdered son David (Merritt Butrick), James T Kirk (William Shatner), "Bones" McCoy (DeForest Kelley), "Scotty" (James Doohan) Chekov (Walter Koenig), Sulu (George Takei), and Uhura stole a decomissioned USS Enterprise. They were hunted down by Klingons lead by Kruge (Christopher Lloyd). The movie not only saw the rebirth of Spock, but it also show cased the destruction of the USS Enterprise. Oh. My.. GOD
I'm watching The Search For Spock, spoilers under the cut (but, and let's be real, mostly me screaming)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
OH MY GOD THIS IS CINEMA
"if my grandmother had wheels she'd have been a wagon" IS THAT WHERE THE BIKE MEME COMES FROM ????? IS THIS WHAT THAT ONE CHEF WAS REFERRING TO????
They keep replaying Spock's death for Jim 😭😭😭
THE SECURITY TAPES
SAREKS MIND MELD

BONES
I FORGOT ABOUT THE MIND MELD FROM WRATH OF KHAN OMG
"HE COULDN'T TOUCH ME" 😔😭💀 screaming crying throwing up
BABY SPOCK 🥺
...
I'm going to ignore the implications of Saavik helping Spock through Pon Farr. Why? Because I can, and I don't wanna think too hard about it or I might Come To Conclusions.
Also can I just say the obvious: CHRISTOPHER LLOYD IS KILLING IT AS A KLINGON- FUCK YEA! he's doing great oml
NOOOOOOOOOOO DAVID 😭😭😭
I didn't care much about him , but he didn't deserve that 😔😭 he died for Our Vulcans™ tho so, o7
HOW are Jim and the others going to avoid life incarceration after this- like literally HOW?!?!
AAAAAAA JIM HOLDING SPOCK AS THE ENTIRE FUCKING PLANET BURNS ITSELF UP
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
We have our boy!!!! 💞🎉💞🎉
REAL QUICK can we talk about LIEUTENANT SAAVIK????
I'm pulling up a picture hold on
She is EVERYTHING to me.
Sir Saavik is EVERYTHING!
Bring him "up the steps" or whatever Sarek said to do!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WHEN YOU-
Oh my lord. Holy shit holy mother of holy holy moly.
THAT HAPPENED.
THEYRE SO- OMFG- AND- I- IT'S HAKNDMSNDSMNDMS. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
He walks past EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!! HE WALKS PAST MCCOY- THE PERSON HE ENTRUSTED WITH HIS KATRA-
HE. PASSES. HIM. BY
And he RECITES HIS DYING WORDS TO KIRK
AND HE REMEMBERS HIS NAME
I'm fine. I'm so normal rn. I'm so normal about this so normal piece of film. I am the correct amount excited by this movie. Mhmm. Yup. Yes. Correcto.
I'm such a fun person to talk to about media.. This truly is the best franchise of all time like look at this shit omg.
I'm so biased but that movie was the BEST! 1701 out of 10. Beauty. Iconic.

Kirk gave a cheeky smile and fist pumped, before popping a piece of doughnut in his mouth. He knew that Gretchen knew that he was mostly teasing. "Oh yeah, they're over by the entrance. They had coffee and tea so they might have other stuff too. I didn't check once I saw the doughnuts. I was too mesmerized." He said with a sigh like the doughnuts were the answer to life's problems. To Kirk that was kind of true; food tended to ease a lot of his pains. "I wonder if I can scent the candle pumpkin but make the color green. That's my mom's favorite color and I'm going to give it to her. I broke a candle last time I visited so hopefully this will be a decent replacement."
watching the way kirk's mind turned with each word he made has gretchen only listening along with a softly raised brow, mouth open and ready to speak as he just...kept going. it was very entertaining to see him come to the conclusion, she'll give him that. "okay, weirdo, s'all yours." she snorts softly, raising her hands up as if in a surrender. "but since you were literally only helpful to yourself you have to show me where they're serving the donuts...do you think they have hot chocolate as well?"

My next door neighbor appeared in nearly nine thousand old time radio shows in the late 1930s, the 1940s, and the 1950s.
According to a 1946 issue of Time Magazine, she had already appeared in almost three thousand different radio shows by 1946.
She was a regular on programs like The Whistler, Escape, Sam Spade, the Phil Harris - Alice Fay Show, the Alan Young Show, Phillip Marlowe, and Suspense. She starred with Peter Lorre in a radio series called Mystery in the Air. She was in most episodes of the Harold Lloyd Comedy Theater. And she was in the original radio pilot of Dragnet. She did well over one hundred shows just for Jack Webb alone.
In the movies she appeared with Orson Welles in Macbeth (1948), acted alongside Henry Fonda in Alfred Hitchcock's The Wrong Man (1956), and she starred in two campy monster movies: The Space Children (1958) and the Screaming Skull (1958).
She knew and worked with Lauren Bacall, Humphrey Bogart, Errol Flynn, Vincent Price, Charlie Chaplin, Lionel Barrymore, Lew Ayres, Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Kirk Douglas, Henry Fonda, Arch Oboler, Carlton E. Morse, Norman Corwin, Rod Serling, and Jim Backus to name a few.
She started in television before it even existed - way back in 1939 - acting regularly on the experimental station located above the Hollywood sign: Station W6XAO.
She is still alive and doing well. By random coincidence, I happen to live right beside her in Hollywood. We hang out all the time.
