ough where do we even start, OW's lore has been dead in the water since the end of OW1, it's evident Blizzard does not care about OW anymore because we haven't gotten anything on the lore since then, only them dangling the keys in front of their audience for the past half a decade with the vague promise of lore with Venture coming out and their reveal trailer/comic and Ramattra, but then continuing do absolutely nothing with those plot points

In certain parts they've entirely retconned the story, usually for the worse, take for instance the odd way they just aged up Pharah to queerbait their audience so 'Pharmercy' (Pharah x Mercy) wouldn't be such a weird and controversial ship with a rather large age gap, or how they just threw Moira under the bus and used her as the big bad evil scientist who made Reaper and Widowmaker the way they were

As for Kiriko, she's definitely a character, the new Ms. Overwatch, at least until Juno (Space Ranger) came along, who knows if she'll still fill in that role

Either way, she was also weirdly retconned into the lore, tacked on to the Shimada brother's lore as though she had always been there. She feels like someone's OC, she adds nothing to the preexisting lore of the two or the Shimada clan and she's not even part of it, she's part of the Kamori clan, additionally she adds nothing to the lore of OW as a whole, but neither does any of the other newest heroes - Juno, Illari or Venture

Girls Face Zombie Apocolypse in Alice in Deadly School Anime PV

    One day before its regular broadcast begins, the first episode of Hoods Entertainment's idol-themed original TV anime Gekidol and the special edition of Alice in Deadly School, which will be told as a story within in the anime, will be aired in a New Year's special program on TOKYO MX and AT-X on January 4, 2021.

  Alice in Deadly School is originally a stage play series launched by a Japanese theatre producing group Alice in Project. Its first show was performed in 2010, and various sequel and spin-off shows have been followed for ten years since then. Its anime adaptation's story is introduced as follows:

  Yu and and Nobu are practicing manzai (a two-person comedy act) act on the roof of the school. At the same time, the school building is overflowing with the presence of non-human "something else." It is said that if a person dies after being bitten by one of them, it will turn into the same "something else" and attack people. In the chaos of the school, Will Yu, Nobu, and the other surviving students be able to escape from its evil hands--.

Theatrical Idol Project Gekidol Debuts New PV

  The Gekidol Project launched back in 2016, blending idols and theatre as a way to give live performances a booster shot. Next year, the long-awaited anime adaptation of the mixed media endeavor will be premiering... and soon, so will the adaptation of one of its shows-within-a-show.

  Gekidol takes place five years after an unspecified disaster has ravaged major cities around the world. Our stars are aiming to take part in shows made possible by 3D holographic technology.

    The Gekidol Project not only tells the stories of these hopeful actresses, but also realizes their stage plays as real productions. The first of these, Alice in Deadly School, was performed in Ikebukuro in 2016 — about a group of girls stranded on their school's roof during a zombie apocalypse. An anime adaptation was announced during its run, but only with the arrival of the Gekidol does it seem to have resurrected itself (so to speak).

    Gekidol and Alice in Deadly School will share much of their voice cast, as each voice actor will perform both her idol character and her character's role in the play.

  Alice in Deadly School, meanwhile, brings on Keiichi Sato (Tiger & Bunny the Movie: The Beginning) and Osamu Nagai (Bokurano) as producers. Kaoru Asakusa (The Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor) penned the original draft, with Masahiro Suzuki (The Wind Rises) supervising. Shigeyasu Yamauchi (Casshern Sins) directs from a script by Yumi Kageyama (Boys Over Flowers). The series will share the same character designers and composers as Gekidol.
