i would like to hear about kirby worldbuilding ali 👀
You thought I forgot about this didn't you! Let's talk about waddle dees!
In the common language they speak on Popstar, waddle dees are named after what they do or what they wear. This obviously means there could be, and likely are, multiple waddle dees with the same name in this common language. Waddle dees also have their own language of some kind, shown by the wawas and wanyas.
While their common names are simple and to the point, their names in the waddle dee language are much more descriptive. They're also built by the community! Waddle dees are very community oriented, as shown by how quickly Waddle Dee Town gets rebuilt in Forgotten Land. The community will build on each other's names.
A waddle dee could describe themself as adventurous, but other waddle dees would describe them as reckless and thus their name would be something like "reckless adventurer". They could also wear a beanie and wield a parasol and are extremely fun to be around despite the recklessness, so those would also be part of their name. So their name would be something like, "Entertaining reckless beanie parasol adventurer"
In whatever common language they speak on Popstar, this waddle dee would likely be called "Beanie Waddle Dee", "Adventurer Waddle Dee", or simply "Parasol Waddle Dee". No need to get too complicated!

How does the cape transformation into wings work? Or are the wings hidden under the cape? When do knights get a cape when in training?
Dimensional capes were typically given to mentors, established soldiers and other higher-ups in the GSA. Each one is specially made by Lorelei using her magic and can take several weeks to a month to make one.
The inner lining of a dimensional cape forms it's own pocket dimension where the user can store a few things (backup weapons, medicine, etc) and even their wings.
The main feature of a dimensional cape is so that the user can hide their wings in combat if they are not needed. Since wings do not grow back and can usually be pretty delicate, it was recommended that soldiers use one to protect them if needed.
A spell binds the cape to the user's wings and enables them to switch from cape to wings at any time. The spell can be disconnected by going into cape mode and removing the cape off of the user's back where the wings will slip out of the pocket dimension and can be used regularly until the cape is put back on.
Since these capes are very special, younger knights did not get them until they got older, after an extra 100 years of service to the GSA or so once they have been knighted. However, after a certain incident where a young soldier lost her wings in battle, they deemed it was important to also be distributed among the newer soldiers as a safety measure.

celesta knight has a strange connection to morpho knight. despite it being a grim reaper of sorts, it's keeping her alive because it sees celesta knight as a friend, even if she's oblivious to its presence.
since, in my headcanons, morpho knight eats souls and is cursed with eternal hunger due to being undead, celesta knight's tendency to ravage fish populations caught its attention quickly. it still follows her to this day, silently consuming the souls of the fish celesta knight eats.

a star system is a small number of stars that orbit each other, bound by gravitational attraction. a larger group of stars is generally called a star cluster or a galaxy, although broadly speaking these are still star systems. at the centre of galaxies, one can commonly find supermassive black holes.

forgotten kirby facts 3 - taranza's "puppetry magic" is intended to be connected to sectonia's parasitism, as theyre both refered to in japanese as the art of manipulation that can possess and parasitize, this is removed from the official translation, likely by an oversight.

Okay I've seen it mentioned a couple times now but I gotta ask.....
what's the Library Turtle?
Oh? Would you perhaps be referring to-
-known more colloquially as the Library Turtle? Well, I'm glad you asked!
In the CFAU, it’s a little interstellar lending library that travels all around the local star system, collecting, trading, and sharing a wide assortment of books, magazines, music, and other sources of knowledge and entertainment between the various interplanetary communities. The elderly duo that owns the library have been running it for quite some time, visiting Popstar in particular few times a month. As for the proprietors themselves…
First, we have the lovely Ms. Paige, a tiny owl-like lady with a witchy aesthetic and a grandmotherly disposition, as patient and wise as you’d expect given her librarian title (as long as you don’t damage her books, that is). A former teacher and very well-traveled, she is a wealth of general knowledge and information, always happy to answer questions when she can or, barring that, to find the book that will. (She also has a bit of a weakness for gossip, even if she won’t admit it.) On occasion, she’ll regale the children with a story or two, folktales and epics and even anecdotes from her own travels (though, few tend to believe such fantastical yarns). She’s also rather spry for her age, often seen carrying improbably tall stacks of books without breaking a sweat. She claims it’s because she always remembers to eat her greens, or exercise regularly, or get a good amount of sleep every day. The answer seems to vary each time she’s asked about it.
We also have the illustrious Sir Apple Tortsworth IV, Esq. - or Sir Tort for short - a large tortoise-like creature who co-owns the library with Paige. He is an easygoing old man of few words and fewer hurries, perfectly content to take the twilight years of his life at a leisurely pace (even if others don’t always meet him at his speed). On land, he stands on four sturdy legs, while, in the air, he transforms them into flippers that let him soar with grace and ease, even with the weight of a whole library on his shell (well… some of it, anyway). He’s happy to chat when prompted, his words thoughtful and eloquent, but he generally prefers to sit back and observe while Paige does the talking for them both. She claims that he’s actually quite the chatterbox when he wants to be (and a sassy one at that). Then again, she also claims that he was once a highly-decorated knight. And a certified lawyer. And a four-star chef. He’s yet to confirm or deny any of these claims. Mostly he just smiles and sleepily admires the scenery, humming old songs from his youth.
The kids love when the Library Turtle comes to visit the village, even the ones not so inclined to reading. As interesting as their homeland can be, there's something exciting about learning what goes on in the cosmos beyond. Paige never fails to find something to interest them, even if it's just another one of her famously tall tales. And Sir Tort is more than happy to listen when one of them has news to share or just needs an ear to confide in. And, whenever the kids have questions about anything - their home, the world beyond Popstar, their families and neighbors, even the two of them - Paige and Sir Tort always make time to answer to the best of their abilities.

Notes on Fortel:
Although this previous ask was semi-dodged as par for course for the character, I did wish to share some notes regarding Lady Helia’s home planet!

Fortel is located in a sister system to that of Pop star’s within the Gamble Galaxy. It has captured the hearts of bards with its verdant mountains and valleys, and the curiosity of scholars with its wealth of ancient ruins, being one of the few civilizations that had survived the great darkness of millennia past.
Ancient Fortian society was recorded to be akin to a premonition-based theocracy. Great value was placed upon fulfilling one’s destined fate, and those gifted with clairvoyant abilities were highly regarded and expected to lead their people so that they may fulfil as such.

Today, with much of its history having faded to legend, Fortel remains a popular tourist destination for its sights.

sorry for answering that ask half asleep. the REAL thing you need to know about dragon age is that it’s not one of those fantasy worlds that’s built really deeply fixed into real history with deep knowledge. it borrows shallowly. it’s built first and foremost to set a videogame in and i love that about it, that it’s built so quickly you can still see the scaffolding went up and how they got there. they decide on a worldbuilding principle—“uhhh what if our jesus figure was [spins wheel] joan of arc?”—and they go for it because they are on a schedule. you should absolutely never be intimidated by dragon age lore it does not know more than you. all i’m doing is being able to make good guesses at what they’re borrowing from and make leaps from there
#not that there isnt real knowledge at all. mary kirby’s borrowing of biblical style for the chant of light is really good for example#and SOMEONE knew enough abt the fall of the roman empire to write the tevinter and andrastian lore#someone knew enough to put a schism in there etc#but in general it’s an IKEA furniture type worldbuilding and i love it dearly

Here are the walking sprites of Kirby and the batamon in DL3 (taken from Spriters Resource)
Very similar, but imagine if you walked up to someone and their eyes were too big and their face was too wide.
Give them more colors, not just default Kirby pink, and that's a deeply unsettling being
Looks at batamon (enemy from Dream Land 3). Do you think they give puffballs the uncanny valley feeling

Do you think Kirby can actually talk? Or do you think he exclusively speaks in “poyos” and “hais” until he gets older? And if the “poyos” are just baby talk, then how could others seemingly understand him?
I personally headcanon that he mostly babbles, he can say some words but he won't be able to talk in complete sentences until he gets a bit older. Others don't really understand him all the time, but he can gesture or use some words he knows to try and get his point across.

Haba Maal
Tag
Haba Maal is a dark dragon made of pure antimatter who originates from another universe known as the Antiworld. For millennia, it travelled aimlessly throughout the Antiworld, its curiosity impossible to sate. However, with the help of the technology of an unknown Antiworldian civilization, it suddenly gained the ability to travel into other universes.
The first (and last) time it used this ability, the outcome was disastrous.
It entered a new world, one that it should not have existed in due to the antimatter that its form consisted entirely of. To Haba Maal, this new world was eldritch and its very matter was hostile towards the dragon. Haba Maal, unable to comprehend what was happening, quickly lost its sanity and went on a rampage.
Its wanderlust had been quenched. Its new goal was to destroy.
It was during Haba Maal's rampage that the only Dark Matter inhabiting Conquest Galaxy was destroyed. For reasons still unknown, Dark Matter was the only matter Haba Maal was able to consume without being damaged by it.
Five heroes (one of these being Celesta Knight) appeared to cease Haba Maal's destruction and after a long and painful battle were able to successfully banish it back into the Antiworld. However, this incident had far more devastating consequences than believed.
Haba Maal's intrusion caused the timeline to slowly unravel. Now, thousands of timelines are occurring at once, and those caught in the middle of it have no idea what's going on – except for Arcta Knight.
Haba Maal's current whereabouts, and whether it's even alive or not, is unknown.

I'm having Mirror World thoughts again. I generally don't see the Mirror World as a reverse copy of Dream Land. I don't think that if a child is born in Dream Land its counterpart just pops into existence too. I mean, if mirror counterparts have somewhat twisted or exaggerated versions of the original's personalities they would not have the same lives as the originals. They wouldn't have the same jobs, hobbies, homes, partners and consequently wouldn't have the same children. I mean, it's possible, but it would take some kind of bizarre quantum entanglement or something to make these people live out completely railroaded lives identical to the originals. Then again, it's said the Mirror World was peaceful until Dark Mind's corruption. Maybe the mirror counterparts used to be very similar to the original before that aggravating eyeball messed things up.
Still. I like treating it as its own self contained space. The landscape is different from Dream Land, after all. If someone looks into the Dimensional Mirror it does spawn a copy of them. But this doesn't happen often since it's so high in the sky. Everyone else is either a descendant of someone who spawned as a copy or just naturally lives there.
I wonder if there would be a difference in how the Mirror treats spawned copies and born Mirror Worlders. Why did Dark Meta Knight shatter after his Amazing Mirror boss fight when the common enemies just poof? How did he return and why didn't he shatter in Triple Deluxe? (Other than being smashed alongside that mirror in a questionably canon side mode.) Does the mirror treat him differently because the original is still alive or is something else going on? Shadow Kirby doesn't shatter, he just poofs like a regular enemy in the Amazing Mirror. In Kirby Fighters (2) he explodes, but still doesn't shatter. He does keep coming back, though. Maybe he respawns in the Central Circle just like the player Kirby and CPU's do? Questions, questions. I don't think we'll be getting any official answers to those.
Back to the Mirror World itself: it has access to space through Candy Constellation. It's entirely possible there are other Mirror Worlds with Dimensional Mirrors out there that you could travel to. Of course entering the Mirror spawns a copy of you, so it's not a consequence free shortcut.
Who knows, maybe on those other worlds their Dimensional Mirror is in a more accessible space and interacting with your counterpart is more normalised. Those worlds could be a lot more entangled.
