Chris Ziegler - Christine Bonansea Saulut: Yugen project with music by Hugo Paquete.

Christine Bonansea & Chris Ziegler are resident artists of EU dance and technology initiative MODINA (2023-2026) at Tanzhaus NRW. Under the title YUGEN (Japanese = mystery and depth), the two are researching the tension between digital technologies and the intense physicality on stage. In the context of Temps d'Images, they provide insight into this exciting work process. Bonansea & Ziegler experiment with a motion capture suit and develop a pas de deux between a human dancer and a VR avatar in a feedback loop. This looping transmission process is interrupted and altered to find again or anew the physical and individual quality of human expression in the mirror of its artificiality.

The three-year Movement, Digital Intelligence and Interactive Audience (MODINA) project brings together three academic institutions and five dance houses in six European countries. It aims to expand the creative possibilities for contemporary dance performance and enhance the experience for audiences through the use of digital technology - with a focus on exploring artificial intelligence (AI) and audience interaction, on-site and online.

The new single comes alongside a visualizer created by Archy’s long-time collaborator and brother, Jack Marshall. “Filmsier” is the final single to be revealed from Space Heavy, following the acclaimed singles “Seaforth” and “If Only It Was Warmth.” The track first sparked a frenzy in fans last year, when King Krule debuted it during his performance at Primavera Sound. Then again, when it resurfaced via exclusive flexi-discs sold at King Krule’s SHHH Tour in April - an intimate run of shows across the US, UK, and EU that sold out in under 2 minutes. The single became a fan favourite, racking up hundreds of thousands of streams via fan videos on YouTube. After a year of waiting, “Filmsier” gets an official release today. On Friday of this week, King Krule will release Space Heavy in full. The 15-track full-length inhabits the deepest reaches of the subterranean sonic world that Archy Marshall has constructed over the course of his career as King Krule. Written over the course of commutes between London and Liverpool, where Archy was splitting his time, he found himself fascinated by the notion of “the space between”; the space haunted by dreams of love, lost connection, losing people and situations to the guillotine of the universe. Once written by Archy, the music was developed by frequent collaborator Dilip Harris and long-time band mates Ignacio Salvadores (Saxophonist), George Bass (Drummer), James Wilson (Bass Guitarist) and Jack Towell (Guitarist). The result sees King Krule stepping into the height of their artistic powers; using his years of experience to create a dynamic body of work that reveals something new with every listen. Lacuna Coil announce new studio album Black Anima

Lacuna Coil will release their ninth studio album Black Anima later this year - the follow-up to 2016’s Delirium

Lacuna Coil have announced that they’ll release their new studio album later this year.

The follow-up to 2016’s Delirium is titled Black Anima, and it’ll launch on October 11 through Century Media Records.

Vocalist Cristina Scabbia says: “Black Anima is all of us. It’s you and it’s me, it’s everything we hide and fiercely expose to a world that’s halfway asleep.

“It is the fogged mirror we are peering into searching for the truth. It’s sacrifice and pain, it’s justice and fear, it’s fury and revenge, it’s past and future. Human beings in the magnificence of a disturbing ambiguity.

"The black core that balances it all – as without darkness light would never exist.

“We proudly present to you our new work and can’t wait to welcome you in our embrace. We are the Anima.”

Further album details will be revealed in due course.

The Italian outfit have several performances lined up this summer and will embark on a UK and European tour with Eluveitie throughout November and December.
