Kingdoms: Far Stations & Arcane Covenants

The first is a riff on the space station on the border of something great, ala DS9 and B5. The second considers how you might play out the story of an Ars Magica covenant in Kingdom, perhaps to tell the story of rivals or in-between campaigns.

I’m getting ready to put some Kingdom 2e up on our community calendar. That reminded me of the series of Kingdom seeds I’d written up when this blog was still on blogspot. I’ve brought over a lot of material from there to here, but I realized I hadn’t brought these over. They’re part of my eventual third volume of the Age of Ravens books, but that is still in the works.

King Magnus and Queen Deirdre of Oscana are dead. But while the kingdom mourns, war looms on the horizon. Tensions between Oscana and the neighboring kingdom of Ryhule have always been high, but there has been an uneasy peace ever since it was arranged that the Crown Princess of Oscana would wed the Crown Prince of Ryhule. Now that peace is in jeopardy because the Princess is refusing the betrothal, even as she prepares to take the throne. The court is in an uproar, secrets are spilling, war is brewing, and the future is anything but certain.

Don't Miss the Infusion of Life from Above

In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” John 3:3 (NIV)

When Jesus says “I tell you the truth,” you know that the words he speaks are of supreme importance. Don’t miss this!

To see the kingdom of God is to live in the joy and blessing of the rule of God. This rule begins now and reaches its fullness in the everlasting reign in the new heaven and the new earth. “Unless you are born again,” Jesus says, “you won’t see this!”

Jesus speaks about the new birth three times: “No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again” (3:3). “No one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit” (3:5). “You must be born again” (3:7). What does Jesus mean?

What Jesus said can be translated “born again” or “born from above.” To be born again means to receive an infusion of new life that comes from God himself. Notice also that the phrase “born again” in verse 3 is explained by the words “born of water and the Spirit” in verse 5.

So the new birth is a birth that cleanses and renews. If you are born again, your soul is washed and renewed as new convictions are rooted in your mind, new desires are planted in your heart, and new capacities are given to you.

how is everyone doing today? I’ll be around all day since I don’t have to work. With the brand new makeover, I have added a whole new kingdom inspired by Russia with a few tweaks of my own. As well as the ability to play a siren, dragon borns, wraths ( basically vampires ), and a djinn. we still have our elves and the dwarven descendants of course. 

With the addition of the new species, a whole new role has been provided. A Hunter is now playable.

             Chaos is brewing just below the surface.

Unbeknownst to the residents of Auradon, some of the villain children have banned together and made a pact with the villains. They haven’t forgotten what the heroes put them through when they locked them up on the Isle. Forgiveness never is easy to come by. Now, it’s time for Auradon to answer for what they have done. For now, the villain kids will play the part. Soon enough they will achieve their revenge and gain everything they believe is rightfully theirs. Time will only tell who will succeed and who will finally fall.

                     Happily ever afters are so overrated.
