Sweet Nothings
Request: hi again, my request for roan is: he's in a relationship with a girl from skaikru and someone she loves is killed so she wants revenge & started punching the killer (like octavia punched bellamy after lincoln's death) and she don't stop even if people try to get her off of the man, until roan catch her from behind and won't let her go even if she's kicking/crying, he whispered sweet things to her and even say 'i love you' for the first time & she calm down ; that's so long i'm so sorry😬❤️
Word Count: 715
—————————————–
You and Roan first met when you were in Polis to have Skaikru initiated into the Coalition. The two of you had fallen in love ever since you two caught each other’s eyes. You had been staying in Polis along with Clarke for the last week.
You had been called from your room to Lexa’s. As you made your way into her room with Titus you watch as two men haul in a large box, “Are you gonna tell me what’s in the box or not?” Lexa questions.
“Forgive me. This is a gift from Kind Roan of Azgeda for Wanheda and Y/N,” Titus explains as you look confused questioning why Roan hadn’t told you about this. “The messenger said this is both proof of Azgeda’s loyalty to the Coalition and an answer to a yet unanswered question. May I? Open it.” He demands the two other men in the room.
“Emerson?” Clarke questions as the box is opened. You stand there in awe as he lunges and attacks Clarke.
Not being able to handle the emotion that is filling you up, you leave and head back to your and Roan’s room. “What the hell, Roan,” You yell as you make it into your room.
“What?” He questions as you slam the door.
“You had Emerson brought here, that’s what. He killed my best friend when he blew Mount Weather up!” You explain.
“I thought--” He starts.
“You thought what?” You ask back getting angrier.
“I just thought you would be happy. That you could get your revenge,” He explains.
“Oooohh you are so lucky it was your mom who blew Mount Weather up and you were still banished,” You say as you cross your arms.
“So you’re not mad at me?” He questions.
“Oh no. I am,” You say as you head out of your room.
“Where are you going,” He asks following you.
“Something I should’ve done a long time ago,” You head towards the Commander Throne room. As soon as you open the doors you run towards Emerson not even caring for bag on top of his head.
You start to punch him and cry uncontrollably. You pull the bag off so he could watch who was punching him. The guards by the chair start to rush towards you and try to pull you off, but before they could get even close to getting you off you punch and kick them away. They quickly try again but you continue to ward them off while still punching Emerson.
Before you knew it you felt large burly arms pull you away from Emerson as you kicked and screamed, “He killed my best friend! He deserves to die! Let me go!”
“Shhh shhh” You hear by your left ear. You make the connection that it was Roan.
“Let--me--go” You yell once more as you wiggle yourself out of his arms. Allowing you to land another punch to Emerson, before he grabs and drags you back again as you scream and kick.
“It’s ok. He’ll get what he deserves,” Roan says softly.
“No, he won’t!” You yell as Roan tries to calm you.
“I promise he will. Just breathe,” He whispers in your ear.
“Please just let me kill him now!” You scream.
“My little snowbird,” He whispers your nickname in grounder, the only words you fully understand. “I love you,” He says in English.
“What? You-you, do?” You stop struggling and turn towards him.
“I do. I never thought I’d meet someone as special as you or pour my heart into anyone as I do for you. I will protect you until my last breath, I would never let anything happen to you my little snowbird,” He says, saying your nickname in grounder.
You feel your eyes tear up a bit more as you shift them from Emerson and back to Roan, “I--I love you too,” You say back.
“Now how about we go back to the room and let Clarke and Lexa deal with Emerson for now,” He smiles at you.
You move your eyes back to Emerson as the guards cover his head again, “Ok, but I want him to get what he deserves,” You say as you drop your head.
“He will my little snowbird. We’ll make sure of it,” Roan says pulling your face up to kiss you.
A/N: So I finally finished this request. I know I’m kinda on a hiatus, but I really wanted to complete this request and have been for a while. I’m sorry if its a bit short but I hope you enjoy it and its what you were looking for. I did really enjoy writing for Roan and writing a softer side of him, that you don’t see in the show.

Previously...
“Clarke?” She was propped against a tree with a gag over her mouth and her hands tied together. She was screaming at you through the gag, but you couldn’t hear what she was saying as you moved to take a step towards her, and her eyes widened.
You could feel the blade of a knife on your neck as you froze, watching Clarke apologize with her eyes. “Drop the bow.” A gruff voice said in your ear, but you didn’t move. “Drop the bow.” He repeated, putting a little more pressure on the knife and making you pick your head up more and drop the bow to the ground. You could hear the man chuckle behind you as he looked between you and Clarke with a smirk. “Welcome, Skaikiler.” He said as you took a deep breath despite the sharp pain on your neck. Your eyes locked onto Clarkes and there was no doubt that you two needed to figure a way out of this together.
————
The knife continued to press into your neck, getting quite close to cutting you as you closed your eyes. You knew you could get out of this, you just needed to get your sword which sat upon your hip. You glanced down, seeing the handle poking out as you stared straight ahead and reached for your weapon fast.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” The man said as he grabbed your wrist with his other hand, keeping you from making the final distance. Your hand shook as you tried to pull it out of his grasp, but the second he let go he took your sword away, throwing it a few feet away from the three of you as you watched.
You didn’t know what to do at this point. You couldn’t quite move or he’d slit your throat, but by the looks of it he might just do that anyway. “So what now? Huh? What are you gonna do with the great Wanheda and Skaikiler?” You said, trying to get a reaction out of him but he didn’t answer you, instead he reached into his pocket to pull out more rope and began to tie your hands together in the front. You finally got a good look at the man holding you captive. His brown hair was long and frayed, dragging past his shoulders as it twisted in knots. His face was hard to see in the dark but as you kept glaring at him he pulled tighter on your wrists, making you wince before gagging your mouth.
He pulled Clarke off the ground, standing her next to you as he looked forward. “Walk.” He commanded as you and Clarke shared a look before following after the grounder.
Bellamy, Kane, Indra, and Monty day in the rover, waiting for whoever trapped to show themselves in the daylight. “It’s been 3 hours. What are they waiting for?” Bellamy asked, tapping his foot. He hated waiting for what ever is about to happen to happen. He just wanted to find you and Clarke. He was fine, sort of, knowing you were in Polis but knowing that you left drives him crazy.
“I say we make a run for it.” Kane shook his head at Monty’s comment, telling him that it’s what they want.
“The boy’s right.” Indra spoke. “They can wait longer than we can.” Kane nodded his head, coming up with a plan. Bellamy was to run to the turret with everyone covering him and then they would run to the ridge as Bellamy covered. Bellamy agreed to the plan, standing up out of the rover’s roof and almost instantly a knife was pressed to his throat.
“They’re here.” Bellamy sighed as he put his hands up in surrender, passing the gun to the man behind him.
“Get out or the boy dies.” The man pulled Bellamy out of the rover completely as Kane pointed his gun at the opening.
“Okay! Okay! We’re coming! Don’t hurt him!” Kane argued as he opened the door, everyone filling out of the rover before getting pinned down by the men and women trapping them. One of the man searched them, checking their coats and clothes before finding the tracker on Monty as he was pulled to his feet.
“It’s mine! Give it back!” Monty shouted, trying to grab the tracker from him. Bellamy watched Monty struggled.
“Monty! Let it go!” He shouted as one of the attackers froze, turning towards the struggling boy and removing her mask.
“Monty?” Everyone stopped, watching Monty’s eyes widen.
“Mom?” Monty and Hannah, his mom, embraced, thankful beyond the stars that the other wasn’t dead as Kane, Bellamy, and Indra got off the ground.
“You have no idea how good it is to see you.” Pike, the man who pulled Bellamy out of the rover, told Kane as they hugged and shook hands.
“We didn’t think you made it.” Kane said as Monty looked to his mom, asking where his dad was. Everyone turned to them, Farm Station’s attitude dropping tremendously as Hannah shook her head.
“He didn’t make it.” They tearfully hugged again as Bellamy’s head dropped, ignoring the pain in his chest as he focused on the less sad reunion.
Kane was asking Pike how many people they had left and Pike stood proud. “63. The rest are camped in the mountains north of here. Grounder killers one and all, am I right?” Everyone cheered at his words but Kane, Bellamy, and Monty were cautious, but Indra was disgusted as she listen and stared at Pike. Bellamy cleared his throat, trying to ease the uncomfortable situation.
“Hate to end this, but we have to find Y/N and Clarke.” He pointed out as Kane nodded,
But Pike just furrowed his brows.
“Clarke Griffin? If only all my earth skill students were as good as her. And Y/N...” He looked towards Kane who’s eyes fell to the ground, unable to bring them up. Pike didn’t need to think hard to realize Kane’s position. “I never had her.”Pike told them as Bellamy looked towards Kane.
“You wouldn’t have. She wasn’t old enough before being locked up then she wasn’t allowed to go after.” Bellamy frown as he thought about that but he couldn’t help but smile at Pike. “Good to see you Sir.” Pike and him shook hands.
“Okay, move the tree.” Kane said pointing to the tree as people helped move it. Bellamy joined as well, but then Monty came over, still distressed from his father.
“Hey, you okay?” He asked Monty who just stiffly nodded.
“I have to be.” They shared a look before they pushed the tree over with the help of Farm Station. Kane and Pike caught up, talking about Farm Station and being able to trust the grounders. They warned Pike about the Ice Nation, telling him that he could trust Indra but Pike wasn’t so sure. They told Monty to give Farm Station Arkadia’s coordinates before planning to head out for you and Clarke.
“We have reports that put them North of here. We could use your expertise.” Pike agreed to go with them, Hannah refusing to leave her son as the others sent off to Arkadia.
Your mouth was dry as your wrists were pulled in front of you, hours of walking talking the toll on you as Clarke looked at you. She was falling behind a little as you came upon a stream. Your wrists were pulled one last time before Clarke fell to the ground. Your eyes went wide as you looked at her.
“On your feet!” The man said as you tried to figure out what to do. You didn’t let him see your worries though as he came over, pushing Clarke unto her back and looking at her. “Looks as if Wanheda is human after all.” You just stood there until he grabbed your rope, leaving Clarke on the ground and pulling you over the water. He bent down to fill up his canteen as you took another look at Clarke. Much to your surprise, she was getting to her feet. You tried to keep quiet, not letting your kidnapper see your change before Clarke was on him, wrapping her bonds around his neck. He grabbed onto them, trying to keep from choking as they fought, your rope dropping in the process. You pulled the gag out of your mouth, joining Clarke on your knees on the water as the man stopped moving. You both froze, sharing a look before Clarke pulled her ropes off his neck, removing her own gag.
“Is he dead?” You asked but seconds later you got your answer as his elbow smashed into your nose, sending you backwards while clutching your bloodied nose as you were buried in the water. Clarke went down after you, having been thrown over his back next to you. You barely had enough time to breathe as you shot your head up out of the water before his leg landed on your neck. The man held Clarke’s neck as his knee held you down, both of you not able to breathe under the layer of freezing cold water around you.
You could feel yourself start to lose your fight as you clawed at his leg less and less. After what seemed like forever, you could breathe, your head above the water as you sat up, coughing out water. Clarke was in the same boat as you, both of you huffing and breathing deeply. The water washed out the berries Clarke used on her hair revealing her blonde hair once again but you weren’t focused that. Instead your eyes were locked on the branding on the side of the man’s face.
“You’re Ice Nation.” You whispered breathlessly as he locked eyes with you. He said nothing as Clarke and you stared at the scars. The Azgeda Grounder slowly reached over to you, pulling your gag up and into your mouth as you sat there terrified.
You had no idea how many Ice Nation grounders you had killed. And the reputation they hold on following rules don’t stand very well. You didn’t know if they would honor coalition, the one that protects your and Clarke’s life.
You were being pulled again only this time you were more determined to get away. You hoped that you would come across someone but no one was seen until you entered a field of grain. 3 grounders stood in the field as you and Clarke were thrusted onto the ground. “Quiet.” He whispered into your faces before you looked over to the other men. “Ice Nation scouts. We’ll backtrack and go around.” You know this was your chance at freedom as you looked at Clarke, seeing her looking at you before you screamed through the gag, Clarke joining in seconds later. When the scouts pulled out their weapons you knew your planned worked.
“Their deaths are on your hands.” You were told. There was no way he could take them, right? You began to realize what you had done exactly when you realized he took on both you and Clark at the same time and came out unscathed.
He put a sack over your heads, blocking your vision and took you to the scouts. The leashes pulling tighter as you slowed down to a stop and your kidnapper and scouts spoke in Trig. “Easy. I don’t want any trouble.”
The man revealed his brand as the scouts exchanged glances. “He’s ice nation. Who are they?” The first scout asked, pointing towards you and Clarke.
“Wanheda and Skaikiler. Prisoners for our Queen. I said I didn’t want trouble.” There was a few beats of silence before the sack was ripped off your head as you blinked the light away, seeing Clarke already un-bagged as the men got a good look at you. The four men began talking again as Clarke nudged you and you looked at her trying not to get caught. She motioned behind her, but you furrowed your brows. She motioned again, glancing at the men as you caught on and you both started running off as your leashes were dropped to the ground. You could hear two pairs of feet running behind you as you and Clarke split up. Two scouts chasing after you and Clarke as one stayed. One of the scouts kept up with you, his hand landing on your shoulder as you stopped, grabbing his wrist and pulling him in front of you. He staggered, allowing you time to knock him on his knees. You thought you had the upper hand until he pulled out his machete and your eyes widened. He swung at you, stabbing your thigh as your leg buckled, sending you to the ground as well and clutching your leg. You didn’t see it but soon the grounder next to you was dead, an arrow sticking out of his back from the man who supposedly wanted to take you to his queen.
The other scout landed on top of Clarke, a knife spilling out of his pocket and onto the grass as she grabbed it and hid it. The moment your ‘savior’ came upon her she stabbed him in the stomach before they tussled, Clarke ending with a knife to the throat at the end.
“If you’re going to kill me, you’d of done it already.” She told him as he smirked.
“There’s still time.”
You reached over to the dead man next to you, ripping off a strip of his clothes to tie around your leg. It was bleeding but the stab wasn’t as bad as some others you’ve had. As soon as your leg was settled you laid in the grass, trying to forget what you got into before the sun was blocked from your eyes.
“Get up.” The man’s gruff voice said as you groaned trying to get yourself off the ground. “Get up.” He said again.
“I am!” You barely got the words out of your gagged mouth before you were pulled to your feet, landing on your feet and both you and the man made noises of pain and you found the stab wound in his stomach. You figured it came from Clarke as your leash was fixed and you kept moving past the field, much slower with your limp.
Bellamy and his group left Niylah’s Trading Post, following the tracks they found on foot. They used the time to talk about what happened, everyone avoiding the truth regarding Monty’s father and the attacks on the grounders. They approached the wheat field as a faint sound of war drums caught Indra’s attention and she told everyone to listen.
She begun to look around before landing on two bodies not far from each other. “Azgeda.” She informs everyone while Pike looked at her skeptically.
“You can tell by sound?” She shook her head, telling them no but by the bodies as everyone finally saw them. Kane and Bellamy exchanged glances, nerves for you skyrocketing as they assumed the worst for you and for Clarke. They knew they had to get the bodies off the field before anyone else came along.
“Wait. Three people. Two o’clock.” Bellamy said as he looked through the scope of his rifle. He gasped as he saw your face, the gag in your mouth as you limped after some man who pulled you by the rope, Clarke’s blonde hair coming into view moments later. “It’s Clarke.” He pulled the scope from his eyes, locking on with Kane. “And Y/N.” Kane felt immense relief.
Bellamy took off, eyes locked on you but Pike got in the way, blocking him from running after the two of you. “You’ll never make it in time.” Pike told him but he looked right past him, seeing you disappear into the woods as he sighed.
“Guys, look.” Monty said behind Bellamy who clenched his jaw and brought his scope back up. An army of Ice Nation was passing through the field and Monty pointed out they wouldn’t be able to make it across without being seen. They agreed to wait out the army and hide in a cave but Indra refused to follow.
“Ice nation has crossed the border. They’re marching on the commander and I must warn her.” She told Kane who nodded, assuring her that they would get you and Clarke. “You better. If Azgeda gets them, they’ll be dead and we’ll be at war.” She left towards Lexa, leaving everyone to head towards the cave.
You made it into an abandoned subway, broken down, dark, and still secluded.
“Scream again and we’ll be dead.” The man flared at you as you shot him a fake grin, completely worn out and just in need of a rest. He tied Clarke and you to a beam and lit a fire, placing two blades in it. He pulled off his shirt, getting a good look at his stab wound as you moved your leg, relieving some of your own pain. “One more inch and I’d be dead. Maybe you’re not the commander of death.” He was looking at Clarke but she didn’t say anything, looking at you as you remained stoic, thinking of anyway to get out of this but nothing was coming to mind.
“Why are you hiding from your own people?” You asked, knowing that if you can get him to talk then he might tell you his plans.
Instead he just quirked his brow. “Why are you two running from yours?” That shut you up as you he was hitting the nail on the head exactly.
One knife was taken out of the fire, the tip a bright orange as he pressed it to his stomach, holding back a moan as he flinches and cauterized his wound. He reached to the other knife and walked over to you. You gulped, a little intimidated as he squatted down, ripping your pants by your wound before pressing the heated blade directly to your wound. You brought a fist up to your mouth, biting down and yelling into the limb as he finished doing your wound. It hurt so much more than you were expecting and the second it was done the area went numb. You didn’t realize he was speaking to Clarke about his loyalty to Azgeda, too caught up with the pain in your leg until Clarke got defensive.
“Like you’re so different. You’re in disguise, same as me. On the run, same as me. And in the wilderness, same as me.” Clarke pointed out as the man turned around, looking at her with narrow eyes.
“I was banished. Nothing like you. You had a choice.” He said as your jaw dropped, a slight scoff coming from your lips as he looked at you.
“So you’re like me.” Clarke’s head shot to you, seeing the similarities between you and this man as you licked your lips and shook your head. “Not everyone had a choice to leave their people. I might’ve chose to leave this time but I was banished twice.” You barely glanced Clarke but he caught it, looking between the two of you.
“And you still stay by her side.” You didn’t have a counter to that. He was right, Clarke and everyone banished you, threw you away without a second thought and yet you ran back to them. “I can’t take you home to your people because you’re the way back home to mine.”
Bellamy made his way out of the cave alone, the clothes of the grounder now upon him as he followed your steps. He walked through the Azgeda army, trying not to draw attention to himself but he was headed the wrong way. One of the soldiers stopped him and Bellamy thought he was screwed but instead he just fixed Bellamy’s direction, believing him to have confused. As soon as the coast was clear he took off again, followed the path he saw you and Clarke head off too. He got to the entrance of the subway, seeing spots of blood on the ground as he took a deep breath and made his way down with his sword out. He hid against the wall, looking into the room and seeing two bodies tied up against beams.
Your head was learnt against the metal beam your body aching from pain and stress as Clarke sat next to you, her head dropped as her eyes closed. A small scuffle of footsteps behind you caught your attention as you stood on alert. But once the sound of the scuffle stood in front of you, you thought you were hallucinating again. “Bellamy?” He reached out to you, brushing the hair out of your face, not at all believing you were really in front of him.
“I’ll get you out of here.” He promised you both but his eyes lingered on you and it didn’t take a genius to figure out what he was feeling. You gave him a smile as he started to pull the gag out of your mouth but movement next to you caught your attentions.
“Look out!” You shouted as Bellamy stood up with his sword but it didn’t matter as the Azgeda grounder got the jump on Bellamy and he was on his back with a knife to his throat.
“No!” Clarke shouted as you stared at Bellamy with wide eyes.
“Don’t! Please don’t!” You plead to the man as he listened to you and Clarke. “Please, we’ll stop fighting, just please don’t kill him!” You didn’t know if your words were getting through until Bellamy was pushed free and you felt like the weight was lifted off your chest as Bellamy looked up at you.
“Thank you.” Clarke whispered softly right before Bellamy was stabbed in the leg and you felt his safety slip through your fingers as you screamed along with him.
“Don’t follow us.” He told Bellamy before kicking his face and knocking him out. You couldn’t pull your eyes off Bellamy as your lip quivered.
This was not how you envisioned this reunion at all.
Bellamy didn’t know how long he was out, but when he woke up you were gone and Clarke along with you. He pushed himself up with the beams help and made his way out of the underground station.
Monty, Kane, Hannah and Pike all searches for the woods, finally coming upon a stumbling Bellamy. “I almost got her.” He told them as they checked up on his condition as they discussed what to do. Bellamy pushed on, trying to figure out a way to find you as Kane stopped him from walking on his limp.
“Hey, you can’t walk.” Kane remind him but Bellamy just shook his head.
“So What? We give up and let them kill her? Kill both of them?” Bellamy questioned as Kane disagreed.
“I want to find her too Bellamy but we have no trail. Look at your leg, you could die out here.”
Bellamy ignored the pain in his leg. “We can’t lose Clarke. I can’t lose Y/N. I can’t lose her.”
Monty approached the situation, assuring Bellamy that you both would be found and perfectly fine. Bellamy didn’t want to give up but he knew Monty was right so reluctantly he threw his arm over Monty’s shoulder and headed out.
A sack was placed on your head again and you could hear voices around you as you walked past people, not at all able to see them. You were led inside a room you assumed to be in Azgeda camp but once your bag was removed you froze, staring right at Lexa in front of you. She sat up straighter as you were uncovered.
“Wanheda. As promised.” The Azgeda grounder told Lexa before pulling Clarke’s bag off. Indra pulled you off to the side, leaving Clarke in the middle of the room.
Lexa spoke to the grounder, discussing a Clarke’s harmed condition before he jumped to his point. “I’ve done my part, now lift my banishment.” He told her.
“I’m told your mother’s army marches on Polis.” You weren’t sure if they could hear your gasp as looked at the man. His mother? “ I’ll honor our deal when your Queen honors my coalition. Lock Prince Roan of Azgeda away.”
Lexa ordered everyone out of the room and Indra led you out of the room. As soon as you were on the clear she untied your hands.
“I thought I told you to stay in Polis.” She said as you smirked.
“Come on Indra. When do I ever follow the rules?” She shared a smile with you, grabbing your hand before giving you a hug, a new action between the two of you that developed with in the late months. She walked you back to your room and you couldn’t help but ask questions. “Prince Roan. He was banished from Azgeda?” Indra couldn’t look you in the eye as she nodded.
“Part of the deal to allow Azgeda into the coalition.” She told you but you didn’t quite get it, asking her why he needed to leave. Indra didn’t answer just continuing on walking to your room. “Would Lexa truly let him back in?” You couldn’t help but feel bad for Roan. You were in the same boat many months ago. Indra could see the fight behind your eyes as she told you to leave it be and left. You watched the woman go before falling onto your bed and staring into the ceiling. Your brain might’ve wanted to break down Prince Roan’s story but you couldn’t focus on it because for the first time in three months you saw him. For the first time in thee months you saw Bellamy Blake.
A/N: Let me know what you think! Taglist is closed, thank you for everyone who supports this series! I love you all so much! ❤️
Edit: Okay, so i queued this and it never uploaded, sorry everyone.
Also I’m sorry for the “the man” and the “the kidnapper” parts in here cause in the episode you don’t know Roans’ name until the end and so Y/N wouldn’t know it and it became very hard to write and not sound repetitive and still have you able to tell who I’m talking about.

Let me know if you guys want me to go into more detail on the whole Azblida story and do another imagine that’s a spin off of this one but focuses more on the twins, Malia and Tobias. I don’t own the any of the gifs and pictures I used, they all belong to there rightful own. Also the picture is not what the twins look like in the story; you can decide what your kids would look like with Roan, lol. Anyways I hope you enjoy and let me know what you think; I always love hearing from you all -xoxoxo

You can barely remember what the sun felt like on your face, and how fresh the air smelled. It was radiation-soaked air, but never-the-less your sentiments were the same. It was beautiful and now it was gone. Azgeda, your beloved home was gone; forever. Though you always remind yourself that you have more, from the old world, than most. You have your husband, your twins, and your life. You have far more than most do and so you always remember to humble yourself when you find yourself becoming to melancholy about the Red Dawn Bunker.
“Your lips are pursed and your making that all too familiar face, again.” a strong voice, chuckled from behind you. There was no need for you to look; you knew that heavenly voice anywhere.
You turned in the chair at your writing desk to face Roan and found him leaning on the side of your bookcase. You sighed as you spoke,
“And your leaning on my bookcase. Again.”
Roan’s eyes widened slightly, and he had the decency to look sheepish as he quickly straightened his stance away from his notorious spot against my bookcase. The bookcase would start to become loose and wobble back and forth from the pressure of his gigantic frame leaning against it. Very rarely, did you let small things bother you, but that was one of the few things that could always irk you. However, you knew Roan didn’t do it on purpose and that’s why you were always gentle in your reprimands towards him for the absent-minded tendency.
“Forgive me, my love.” he says, as he approaches your chair; to place an intimate kiss behind your right ear. “I always seem to forget, despite my best efforts to remember.”
“I know, darling. It’s why I remain forever patient in my regards to that specifically vexing habit.” You slyly caught his eyes, with a playful smirk. He laughed at the good-natured slight, as he caressed the sides of your upper arms and dropped a light kiss to your left temple.
“Well thank you for being so patience with me, my queen. Perhaps, the day may yet come when I remember to refrain myself from such a vexing habit.”
You threw him a humorous hum with a ‘We shall see’ look on your face, as he playfully shakes his head at you with a highly amused chuckle. Something was missing though, and it was then that you realized the twins weren’t with him; as they normally would have added their own funny sarcasm by now.
“Where’s Tobias and Malia at? It’s not safe for them to be without guards.” You mused out loud.
“No need to worry, (Y/N/N). The twins are training with Gaia and Indra. With plenty of guards to watch over them while they train.” Roan hastened the words out into the air, as if sensing and quickly, seeking to placate your slightly distressed stated; to which you sighed in relief.
Only to have the distress flood your body once more and turn your blood ice cold. You stood, so quickly, that your chair scraped against the floor as it was pushed away. You moved to sit next to Roan on your shared bed, where you leaned into his enormous figure for much needed comfort and security. You whispered so soft, it almost wasn’t there, “Blodreina won’t be there, will she?”
“I don’t want her filling our babies’ heads with insanities and atrocities.” You managed to choke out, distressingly harsh whisper, before Roan wrapped you in his arms and gently hushed you. Roan knew you were forever worrying about what Blodreina was up too.
While the both of you gave your support to her leadership, you were far from comfortable with her power. Especially since she was given her well-earned title; Blodreina. When Roan informed you that people were calling her by that title, you nearly fell out into the floor. Roan didn’t see the big deal in the name until you told him about the eternal and infamous story behind The Red Queen. He’d never heard about the story of the red queen, and while Roan was very intelligent and educated; he hasn’t ever been the kind of person to sit down and read fairytales, and you’d never been able to imagine a dimension where Nia read him fairytales.
He began to share your same worries after you told him about The Red Queen in the fairytale and historical women like Queen Mary I of England who was later named Bloody Mary for killing hundreds of people, in a five year reign, who didn’t believe in what she believed in. Then, there was Countess Elizabeth Báthory who was given the title, The Blood Countess for killing over an estimated 650 people and most likely more just to satisfy her base pleasure for blood sport.
You told Roan that those women had plenty in common, but their self-destruction was marked by one particular poison. They had power and eventually they began to like that power. Finally, along the way they developed an obsessive love for that power that inhibited their senses and left them without the ability to see that there are limits and there are lines and we cross them, it builds a wall where those lines used to be. It’s nearly impossible to break those walls down, let alone climb them, to get back to the other side.
“The twins are two of the few fortunate souls in nightmarish bunker. They were only babies when the Dark Year happened; they don’t have to know the turmoil of trying to find a way to live with the horrific crimes they committed against humanity. They are two of the only ones that are truly pure and innocent.”
The desperation and fear in your soft voice was loud and clear to Roan and it pulled at his heart in ways most couldn’t understand. You’re his wife and the mother of his children, to see you in despair of any level hurt him more than words could describe. You were right though; the twins were lucky when it came to all the things everyone in the bunker had to do to survive.
It’s times like that when you want more than anything to be above ground where you and Roan where rulers and could properly protect your children. Though you are protecting the twins by making a deal with Blodreina, you both knew that at any moment she could decide to break off the deal and her cult followers would only continue to follow. There no sense of true honor in the bunker anymore. No, that moral luxury died in the fighting pit years ago; the Dark Year to be exact. However, you and Roan were both aware that no matter how much protection you give the twins, there would always be danger to close for peace of mind. they were the luckiest and also the most unfortunate, at least when it comes to power, that is. Azblidas.
Nearly invincible creatures it seemed like. When you were pregnant with the twins it felt like you were always freezing, and they were active and strong from the very first kick that appeared to never cease it seemed. Not that you minded, it felt like you were bonding with them and that’s one of the reasons you’d read aloud to them even when you still carried them in your womb.
Flashback; Waiting for Roan’s Victory
You waited behind the flame that told you, your husband, the king was still alive and fighting. Echo waiting anxiously with you, and what would have been consider your Lady’s maid in a time before Primfiya, Cordelia, forever by your side, offered you the support and comfort you desperately needed. Cordelia was a woman in her early thirties; she had smooth olive skin with heart shaped lips, big brown honey-hued eyes and framed by thick dark brown hair. You tried to decide whether it was wavy or curly before settling with the decision that it was both; Delia’s hair was gorgeous either way. She was a strong and wise woman, and she was just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She stepped towards you from behind you, to whisper in your left ear;
“Did you tell him?”
There was nothing you hid from Delia and there was nothing she hid from you. She took care of you every day, ran errands for you, helped you with your responsibilities as Queen, offered you wisdom and comfort, and generally just made your busy and chaotic life easier for you. She with you every day, all day even if you hadn’t told her you were pregnant, she was more than smart enough to figure it out all by herself.
You turned your head to the left, though your eye lingered on the flame representing Roan’s life; “No, I didn’t want to distract him from the conclave. I wanted him to have a level head and his guard up. He has enough to carry on his shoulders, I will not knowingly add to those burdens.”
You could see she was about to say more but stopped and thought about it a few seconds longer before she looked at you with understanding eyes and soft smile, followed with a gentle nod.
Your attention was directed back to the room around you as Indra’s daughter, Gaia came from the balcony. It was down to Octavia, Luna, and Roan; you held your breath as the scout approach remaining flames with a candle snuff. Gaia voice sound like it was far away and somewhere underwater; “Roan kom Azgeda, yu gonplei ste odon.”
You swear your heart stopped as the nameless scout destroyed Roan’s flame. It felt like you could breathe, as if someone had cut you open and ripped your heart and lungs from your chest. The pain was…unbearable. You manage to let out one long mournful wail, that chilled the blood of everyone in the room, before that became to painful and physically impossible for you it seemed.
You suddenly felt faint and reached out for something to steady yourself with. Cordelia was shaken out of her shock when she saw you stumble backwards in a slight sway. She rushed up behind you and settled a strong right hand on your hip before clasping your left hand with hers. “My Queen?! Your Grace, can you hear?! (Y/N), it’s me, Cordelia!” Delia waited for a response, but only received a soft breathless gasp that sounded faintly like ‘help’. Cordelia didn’t have any time to ask again before she felt your body give out. She caught your body and gently lowered the both of you to the ground.
“HELP! GET HELP! Find a healer, the Queen’s fainted!” Delia cried out, in desperate panic. You could see Delia and Echo’s faces above you and their mouths were moving, but you couldn’t hear anything as darkness invaded and conquered your vision.
Flashback; prior to The Final Conclave
The happiness and relief you felt, when you had woken to Roan’s handsome face, was unlike any kind of happiness you ever felt before. You first thought that you were dead and that you had actually died of a broken heart, but you soon realized that you were in fact alive when you saw Cordelia; perched on the edge of her chair, to right side of the bed, in anticipation.
Roan was so elated to see that you had awoken and pounced forward to press a passionate kiss to your lips. You’d frozen in surprise and slight shocked till you relaxed into the welcomed kiss and poured your love and longing into the greatly needed moment. Cordelia smiled; quietly backing away and turning in the other direction to give her king and queen privacy. You felt him gently place his large hand over your womb where your child rested. You would later come to find out that it was two babes not just one.
When he reluctantly pulled away, you could see the questions in his eyes, but he decided it was best not to overwhelm you in your delicate condition. Normally you would have bristled at the someone deeming you delicate, however, at that moment you were grateful because no matter how much you refused to admit it you really didn’t have the energy to talk about something so serious.
Even if you did have the energy you still had bigger problems. Roan informed you that Octavia had won the Final Conclave and decided to give one hundred spots to each of the 12 clans to show that we were equals and were destined to unite as Wonkru. You were surprised to hear he accepted the notion. He was so adamant when it came to winning the Red Dawn solely for their clan’s survival.
When he saw your unbridled surprise and questioning gaze as you studied him, he merely chuckled fondly; “The only reason I’m alive is because I didn’t give up, I held onto my last breath until that psychotic Natblida released her hold on me. If I’m going to give up my last breath to anyone, it’ll be to my queen. Preferably in my beloved queen’s arms, in our old age after living a long and meaningful life.”
You being who you were, had replied with a forever-loving and playful taunt; “Oh Roan, you’re secretly a hopeless romantic! Good thing I find that an attractive trait in my king, huh?”
He had given you an amused smirk and eyeroll, but the look in his eyes soften considerably when he heard you whisper a heartfelt ‘Ai hod in yu, Ai Hairein…’
“Ai hod in yu too, Ai Haireina”
Flashback; Birth of the Bluebloods
The pain was unimaginable and overbearing, as it crashed over you in relentless waves; only getting strong and more painful as time dragged on. Cordelia was to the left of you trying to make you as comfortable as possible, while Roan sat behind, in between you and the metal headboard, as he spoke words of encouragement into your ear.
You were sweating ice chips; how you could sweat and still be cold was beyond your comprehension. Perhaps its better that you were cold and not hot because there was no “wasting water” of any amount in the bunker; not even to cool off a pregnant woman in labor.
You screamed and growled in pain, only to spat insults at Roan; while attempting to break every bone in his hand, for compensation. He was a good, but slightly terrified, sport about it and continued encouraging you with the occasional apology. One final push and your shrieking baby was born. Abby looked at the squirming irritated babe in her hands with slight panic.
“What? What’s the matter?” You asked in confusion, before the unbridled panic set in; “Is something wrong with my child?! Give me my baby!”
You held your arms out, expectantly, only to become furious when Abby handed the babe off to Jackson; who took her to a different part of the room.
“NOW! GIVE ME MY BABY, NOW!” You wailed, your angry and agony, over your baby’s wellbeing, beginning to enter twine. Roan began to become angry to, as he saw the state you’d quickly been reduced too.
“Give us our baby, now; or I’ll have your heads” He snarled but was interrupted by a different and sharper cry of pain, leaving your lips.
Y our hand quickly cupped your swollen belly to soothe the pain in your lower abdomen.
“There’s another!” Abby whispered; “I had to have Jackson check your daughter; she was ice cold and had a blueish tint to her skin, but you need to concentrate on the birthday of your second baby.”
“Daughter? Roan and I have a daughter?” You whispered, with hitched breaths induced in pain. To which Abby confirmed with a firm nod and soft yes.
“Malia.” Roan said.
Your smile, at hearing her name, left your face as another pain hit you and you focused on delivering your second child. It took 4 more pushes before your second baby was brought into the world. Abby looked at the child and told you and Roan had a son, before she hears Jackson perplexed voice.
“Huh, Abby? Do you have any idea why this baby was born with blue blood?”
Everyone’s held shot to Jackson as he held up a tube of blood with a blueish silver to show Abby.
“Azblidas!” Gaia exclaimed, with an awe-struck face; “Queen (Y/N) was given birth to a god and goddess among men. Far more sacred and rare than Natblidas and a lot stronger and faster than them too. They’re nearly invincible, its incredibility hard to mortally injure an Azblida. They hold the highest positions in grounder society and each one is as legendary as the next one. An Azblida hasn’t been born in over a century and now there are two.
Gaia had come to the delivery in the hopes of your child being a Natblida but was graced with not one, but two children destined to be the most powerful beings in your world.
“This is a sign that the old ways of the faith are not dead. We must show our loyalty to the faith; protect them at all cost and train the Azblidas in the sacred ways, when they’re old enough.” Indra spoke, as she stepped up next to her daughter side. Indra had thought the days of the faith were dead, but she had been proven wrong; in more ways than one.
“Well now that we’ve decide my babes are strong and healthy; can I have my babies now?” You tiredly asked.
Abby and Jackson gave you and Roan your children and everyone left to give you privacy. “We have a beautiful son and daughter, my king”
He contently hummed in agreement; “Malia and Tobias, the strongest of the strong; you did an amazing job, my queen. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Flashback; The Dark Year
A famine had stormed the bunker and threatened to take everyone to the shores of the afterlife. No environmental calamity on earth had ever scared you as much as this famine and you lived through the Second Pramfiya. You were born in Azgeda and lived through the deadliest winters know to man, deep within the territory of Azegda, at the royal dwelling built in a region named; The Land of Eternal Winter. Those winters in perpetual ice glaciers and snow was easier to deal with than this famine.
You had been sick to your stomach ever since you and Roan’s meeting with Octavia and the other advisors. Cooper had told you the extent of the damage to the hydro farm and the only response to Octavia question on how to feed 1200 people, was Abby’s. You could live with throwing real criminals, that truly threatened the people surviving, into the pit. However, throwing people in there to fight to the death so we had a protein source was horrifying barbaric; even for Azgeda.
“This is wrong. It dangerous.” You stated, and everyone turned to you; “All of you know as well as I do that what your considering is a pandora box waiting to be open. That’s always what happens…It. Never. End. Well. For any of us!”
“Then give me another option.” Octavia’s eyes pleaded you. “Please!” she begged, in whisper to you. She didn’t want to consider what Abby suggested, you knew that, but it seemed to be the only option if she wanted her people to survive the six years.
You and Roan shared a worried look before Octavia ended the meeting.
______________
You and Roan sat side by side at the same table with Octavia and the other advisors; where your gaze lingered down at the big red cube. Roan’s face gave a slight grimace at the sight of his cube and when Octavia gave her speech and took a bite, you knew it would end badly. You and Roan remained unmoved, and locked gazes with one another, before Abby called your name.
“(Y/N). If you don’t get the nutrients your body needs, eventually it becomes a very high outcome that your body will stop producing milk and you’d no longer be able to feed Malia and Tobias.”
Your eyes widened at the very likely possibly. It hadn’t crossed your mind that the affect to the rest of your body would also affect your babies only food source. Still you needed to know from someone you could completely trust, so you call out Marcus’ name to which he responded.
“Is it true, Marcus? It that a very likely possibility?” He hesitated before sighing with a nod. You looked in Roan’s direction to see his heavily burdened and troubled eyes; he to hadn’t consider the possibility.
You couldn’t endanger your children any more than they already were. Roan grabbed your hand and intertwined your fingers as he whispered;
“Together. We do it together like we always do.”
You gave a slight nod, “Together. To ensure Malia and Tobias survive.” You gazed at the cube in exasperation and dread.
This will end badly. For everyone.
Flashback; training the twins
Tobias and Malia were growing fast and would be nearing their 6th birthday soon enough. The older and stronger they grew, the more Blodreina showed interest in them. Whether the attention extended from what they and their blood could give her or take from her, was unknown. That notion alone was an unsettling and endless haunting, that antagonized the forever-watchful parents.
To you, Blodreina was a red serpent, hidden and patience, waiting to strike and take all you held dear and sacred. You never imagined you’d see Octavia as your enemy, but now Octavia wasn’t just an enemy. She was your greatest enemy, and the most dangerous of all the enemies you’d ever faced. One thing you were 100% sure of; Blodreina was a threat, that you and Roan couldn’t afford when it came to your Azblida children.
She wouldn’t do anything questionable, as of right now, though. Your children had acquired quite the following from both former Trikru and Azgeda alike. Not only people of the old faith, but also people who turn away in disgust of the way people live in Wonkru and believe Blodreina has truly crossed some of the most important limits and lines.
There was a little over 400 faith followers; leaving it an even fight after hundreds died in the fighting pits for sport among other reasons. Despite what Octavia may think about Wonkru’s strength, it wasn’t enough to overthrow 300 years of faith. Especially after the wonders you delivered into the world when you bared your ice-blooded children to your husband.
Gaia and Indra were finishing up the twins’ lessons for the day when suddenly everyone in the room was silenced by a loud roar coming from down the hallway. Malia abruptly turned to the sudden noise only to get whacked in the arm with a practice staff, by her slightly younger brother, Tobias. Mal sharply turned back to look at Tobi out of the corner of her eyes, with a dangerous glint in her gaze. She needn’t say anything for her glare said more than her words ever could; as if to say, ‘Back off! Or you’re gonna get it, Tobi.’
“Mal’s got her mother’s glare, for sure.” Roan guffawed, when he saw Mal’s reaction. Tobi gave his sister a sheepish look and a soft apology.
“Tobi’s got his father’s guilty stare, for sure.” You softly snarked, with a whisper of a smile; letting Roan know you were only joking. He heartily chuckled at the tongue lash as he pulled you into him to give you a deep kiss; to which you gave back. Malia stormed over a question she asked many times, but never got an answer too.
“Momma, what’s that noise we always hear from the end of the hallway? Behind the red doors with the strange symbol on it.”
Gaia and Indra halted as they shared a look with each other before sharing a similar one with you and Roan. The guards and the two women wait for your response to the inquisitive girl’s question. You sigh before you decide to tell them.
You leave Roan’s arms and walk to the young boy and girl; “A faithless and immoral world lays beyond those doors. A world bathed in red- “
“Why red, Ma?” The soft voice of Tobias spoke, as his head cocked to the side.
“Because it is a place where blood flows and never stops. It will forever be painted in blood and living in that world are monstrous creatures declaring themselves human; who never cease in their howls for carnage. Many people have died in that place for simple pleasure. The monsters in disguise made those people fight in a lonely and terrifying place, known as the pit. Similar to the Gladiators of Ancient Rome and all the while they only roar in hunger for more. You must never find yourself in that position. It is the one place in the world where you will truly be alone. You’ll have no friends, no support, not even each other.”
Malia and Tobias hang onto her every word; “Why couldn’t we just fight our way to each other and our freedom, Momma?”
“You can try, my darlings. However, even if you were to kill all of your opponents, there will be a Great Red Serpent, coiled on a throne of chrome, waiting hidden and patience. Even if you’re the last one standing, she still gets to decide whether you live or die. Promise me you will never find yourself in such a place that lacks all honor and humanity. Even if you do find yourself unfortunate enough to be in such a place, promise me you’ll do whatever it takes to free yourselves.”
They both immediately swore it to you, and you gave a firm nod in acknowledgment. Once they returned to finishing up their training you looked to Roan and you both shared a look of understanding as you sought the comfort of his arms. It was only a matter of time.
It was all just a big waiting game.
Flashback; Bellamy saves your family
You slowly approached Bellamy from your place at Roan side; sliding through the space between Tobias and Malia, who were hugged, protectively, to you and Roan’s bodies. A defense mechanism developed early on in the time since your twins were born, and rightfully so.
Several emotions seemed to flow over Bellamy’s face at the sight of you; Shock, happiness, love, and a look you knew only too well. Fear. You and Bellamy were best friends, practically brother and sister, ever since you first met in Polis. It was an unlikely bond formed between two people from two different worlds, but somehow you both were able to look past that particular difference.
When you saw the fear pass over him, all you wanted to do was show him you weren’t mad at him for not being able to keep his promise. In a way he did come back and that’s exactly what you told him. You looked at him in awe as you reached him and quickly pulled him into a tight hug, “You came back…you kept your promise to me.”
You’ve felt and seen enough fear to last a lifetime, but that is no more, now that Bellamy had freed you all from the serpent cloaked in red death. You knew the words registered in his mind after a few seconds because his arms immediately tightened around you, in a comforting strength. You placed your lips near his right ear to whisper, “Thank you, Bells. You saved us all from the Red Serpent.”
As you pulled away and watched his reaction, he looked at you in a questioning worry. “(Y/N/N) …” he whispered, before his concerned eyes connected with Octavia’s soulless irises.
His gaze dropped back to you and what appeared to be a sad but edged anxiety shrouding your tired features. Your eyes and words told him everything and nothing about what he needed to know. Then, his attention was captured by two, inhumanly beautiful and young, twins nestled safely against Roan’s sides.
‘You and Roan had children…’ He mused, in mild wonder.
Realization struck Bellamy, when he realized it was a well-guarded and deeply apprehensive fear; heavily veiling your face.
Present time; Ascension to a Hollow Kingdom
You assured the twins, after they began to fuss in worry, that you would be waiting for them to ascend, at the top. Poor Tobias looked sick with stress as he watched you like a hawk. He was almost always worrying over something, no matter how big or small, and the fact that he was a Momma’s boy didn’t help his fretting. Roan would fondly say their Tobias takes after his mother; when it came to worrying and pondering.
Tobias was as cautious as he was dangerous, which said a lot to people if they knew him. Malia and Tobias may have been young and not have extensive training, but their mere existence was dangerous; because their blood marked them with a promise of what they could be.
Malia’s blue eyes squinted, at Bellamy, with an edgy distrust. You could help but chuckle when you saw his slight gawk at a 6-year-old glaring at him with a no-bullshit seriousness. He even looked around the area to see if it was really him, she was staring down. It was a glare so familiar that Bellamy couldn’t decide whether the girl inherited the expression from you or Roan.
You and Roan shared a brief but passionate kiss before you made your way to Bellamy, and the rope that would lift you and your family to your freedom. Bellamy wrapped his arm around your waist with a quick side glance to Malia and her relentless hawk eyes.
“Bells, you’re not afraid of my 6-year-old, are you?” You teased, as you were both lifted up. Bellamy’s head slightly jerked back as he spoke;
“What? Of course not, she’s just a kid.” He said, quietly as if he were almost afraid Mal would hear.
“Uh huh, yeah whatever gets you through the day.” You taunted, “By the way, I like the scruff. Very sexy.”
He laughed at the playful comment, as he slyly looked at you, and jokingly says; “I thought you might. You always had a thing for men with scruffs”
“No, I always had a thing for Roan with a scruff.” You giggled with mirth. The two of you, soon enough, reached the beautiful and blinding light that glowed around you. Two foreign men helped you to ground level and you froze in awe as you take in the sight laid before you. It was a wasteland, but it was Earth, your home. You vaguely felt Bellamy’s eyes, hovering on you, but you were more focused with all the open space as far as the eyes could see.
Something you had forgotten while cramped into that hellish bunker with 1999 other people. “all go down to get your kids and then Roan.” He said, to which you nodded.
This is what’s left of Polis, a place where all the clans could unite in peace. You didn’t have time to ponder anymore on the thought as you heard the voices of your children.
“Move your hand, rockhead!” Mal snapped at Tobi; only for Tobi to glare at her with pursed lips, “Move your face, halfwit!”
Bellamy appeared to be making great effort to not laugh and looked to you for help. You took mercy on him and called your twins attention to you, “Alright, that’s enough. Can’t you two go 5 mins without making attempts to rip each other a new one?”
They both mumbled an apology before looking around with a new wonder in their eyes you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing until now. “This is where you come from Momma?”
You smile and nod, “It’s different from when your dad and I lived up here though. Before the Second Pramfiya, it used to be covered in fields of grass and trees and bushes as far as the eyes can see, but never-the-less I’m glad to be home and I’m happy that I get to show you our world.”
They smile and cheer before venturing the foreign area, while still remaining close to your side. You turn as you hear Roan’s voice; “I think this is the happiest we’ve ever seen them.”
You turned and hugged him as you watch them explore. “I think you right, but hopefully we’ll be able to give them happiness now that we’re free.” Roan nodded in agreement.
“They look so beautiful and sweet together.” You said before Roan leaned down to place a kiss on your lips. You both pulled away when you heard the twins bickering;
“Shut up, Mouthbreather!” Mal practically spits out, and Tobi turns back to his twin to give her a good tongue lash;
“Oh, that great coming from you, Colonel Flap-jaw!”
Bellamy couldn’t contain himself any longer and starting howling in laughter at the twins’ insults; he continued to laughter as he looks at you and Roan, “Yeah, those are your kids, alright!”
You and Roan sharing an amused glance before chuckling at your kids.

Imagine being chosen by your King to be one of many from Azgeda to join Wonkru in the bunker before Praimfaya hits. You go with a heavy heart because your significant other has been banished, but imagine your surprise when Echo is alive and well after Bellamy and Clarke free Wonkru from your tomb. Just when you think it's going to be a happy reunion.. it all takes a turn for the worse. Until it doesn't.
Author's Note: Since this is obviously AU, Roan never went into the Conclave. Instead he chose Azgeda's best warrior who ended up losing to Octavia. Octavia ended up having a soft spot for Roan after he did the honorable thing and banished Echo when she was caught trying to help Azgeda cheat, and he had no problem deferring to Osleya after Praimfaya.
P.S - The beginning might seem like I'm bashing Echo, but I swear I didn't mean for that to happen! I love Echo. I intended for this to be an Echo X Reader, but Roan slithered in and took control.
GIF not mine. If you want credit and/or it removed, please let me know asap!
Roan X Reader
Six years in the bunker changes you. It changes everyone whether it be for the better or not, and being secluded underground just made everything worse. Life just mere days after Praimfaya really opened everyone's eyes and it was a fight to be where Wonkru is now. And though there were many rebellions, people quickly got on board with things the Wonkru way to survive.
Several people stepped up, others stepped aside, and the rest learned to follow. Octavia had taken you under her wing when she saw a promising strength within you, and with Indra's help the both of them groomed you to be Blodreina's Second-in-Command. So when Wanheda and Bellamy Blake broke into the bunker to finally free you, you took up your position behind Octavia's right shoulder as you watched your people be lifted out in pairs. Something with the new Skaikru was amiss, but one look from Blodreina had you remaining quiet until everyone was out and you could speak in private.
Then everything went to hell.
The new Skaikru wanted Shadow Valley for themselves and were willing to kill for it. Octavia was a threat, as was Clarke, and it was war all over again. When Octavia demanded Wonkru march on Shadow Valley where the new Skaikru had taken over, Clarke tried to dissuade her. Octavia, however, was having none of Clarke's opinion and marched on either way. And that- that was a mistake. Because in the sand lived worms that were capable of infecting humans and leaving eggs to hatch inside them. When one of Wonkru went down, it was rush to try and save his life only for numerous of worms to explode out of him. In a rush to kill them and move out of the way, Octavia ended up a worm in her arm that Clarke was quick to cut back out.
Then Blodreina was informed that missiles were on the way and the only way to hide from the apparent camera in the sky was to hide out in the middle of a sandstorm with sand that cut like glass. With Octavia weak from blood loss, it was your job to cover her as Wonkru formed a circle around the both of you to take the brunt of the storm.
The following morning when Octavia is awake and Clarke manages to properly bandage the wound on her arm, Octavia thanks her. Then Bellamy steps in to speak with his little sister and while it seems like a peaceful moment between siblings, Octavia then threatens him to never speak up against Wonkru again. Bellamy seems shocked, but the rumbling of an engine diverts his attention. As Wonkru becomes antsy at the arrival of the vehicle, Bellamy and Clarke shout out that they're friends of theirs.
As Bellamy walks off, you grasp Octavia's hand and help her stand as to not show any more weakness. Taking position behind her shoulder once more, your gaze remains on the vehicle as the doors open.. and you freeze. Your eyes widen and it feels like there's a tight grip on your heart as you watch a familiar face appear.
Choking back a strangled sob and clenching your hands at your side, you gulp when Octavia glances over her shoulder at you. There's so much anger in her features at the sight of Echo and tears prick the corners of your eyes. "Please. Give her a chance," you plead.
"Why?"
Your jaw clenches and you will your tears not to fall. You haven't cried in so long and you can't afford for Wonkru to see such a weakness. "She's- she's.."
"She's her wife." The voice of Roan startles you and your head snaps in his direction. He offers you a nod as he takes up your side and you smile tightly in return before looking back at Octavia.
Her eyes widen just a bit and her eyebrows subtly raise in surprise. When she turns her face to stare back out across the sand, she scoffs. "Some wife she is."
Your brow furrows and you follow her gaze.. only to have your heart completely shatter. Echo is in a passionate embrace with Bellamy and the both of them seem pretty comfortable with each other. Roan squeezes your shoulder and Octavia scoffs. Then when the duo finally part and they share a brief conversation, the both of them turn to stare in Octavia’s direction. Unfortunately for you, you're in Echo's line of sight as well and you see the moment she recognizes you. Her eyes widen, her mouth drops open, and not even Bellamy's needling can grasp her attention when he realizes who she’s staring at.
The moment Echo starts in your direction, you inhale sharply and stand a little straighter. You blink rapidly in hopes of your watery gaze clearing and Roan squeezes your shoulder once more before removing his hand and taking a step to the side. Octavia, too, stands a little straighter and holds her hand up to stall Echo when she's close enough.
Echo tries to get closer despite Octavia's silent command and you shake your head once. "Don't."
"Y/N?" She breathes in awe. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't know you were.. I didn't think-"
"It's fine," you gulp. Clearing your throat, you set your gaze just over Echo's shoulder. "You've made your decision."
"No! That's not fair."
Bellamy seems confused, so he grasps Echo's hand in his own and she doesn't rebuff him. Seeing this, Octavia then takes great pleasure in informing her brother just what's going on. "Bellamy, this is Y/N," she says while gesturing to you. "Echo's wife."
"Excuse me?" His eyes widen and he tries to take his hand back, but Echo merely grips him tighter as her eyes plead with you to understand.
"Ex-wife," you mumble.
"Y/N." The pain in Echo's voice is nothing compared to what you're feeling. "Please. I didn't know you were alive. If I did, I might have never-"
Roan scoffs. "Even in mourning Y/N never sought comfort in another's bed. Yet here you are, begging, as you hold the hand of another."
"It's done. Lets not cause a bigger scene." You manage to keep your features schooled and squash down what you're truly feeling, hoping that Octavia will issue some sort of command to disperse the group.
But Roan is not quite content to just let it lie. "You were a disgrace to Azgeda and now you are a disgrace to your wife. Ex-wife," he then cruelly amends. "You'll be lucky if Blodreina offers you a place in Wonkru."
Octavia lazily holds a hand up. "That's enough. We have other things to worry about than a lover's quarrel. Diyoza is proving to be a threat that's needs to be handled immediately."
"Agreed," you say.
Echo opens her mouth to respond, but Octavia walks off without hearing a word. And since you're her Second, you follow. What was meant to be a most spectacular reunion turned out to be nothing but heartbreak.
The pits was a good place as any to spar and get rid of pent up emotions. Roan had dragged you down there the following day after your verbal divorce from your long time love and you'd spent hours trading blows.
Roan didn't say anything, which you were grateful for, and took great pleasure in kicking your ass. You held your own against the former King, the sound of your blades clashing and grunting from being kicked covering mostly every other sound around you.
"Sloppy," Roan teases, offering you a hand up when he manages to get you on your back with his blade poised at your throat. "What would Blodreina think?"
"Blodreina," you start to say as you grab at Roan's hand, "would say to never let your guard down." Roan's smirk falls and you grin. Gripping his hand and bracing all your weight into staying stationary, you kick out at one of his ankles. He yanks his foot up before you can make contact and when he's balanced on one leg, you yank with all your might. Roan tumbles to the ground at your side and you quickly move to straddle him, a small dagger then held at his throat. "Especially around a pretty face. You have no idea what we're truly capable of."
Roan laughs and holds his hands up in mock surrender. Then laughing as well, you move to stand up while offering him a hand up. You sheathe your dagger when he's on his feet, smiling and relishing in the workout you've just had. And then someone clears their throat.
Turning towards the source of the noise, you spot Bellamy waiting there. "Can I have a word with you. In private?"
Roan tenses and moves to take a step in Bellamy's direction, but the back of your hand smacks against his abdomen. "Don't. It's fine. I'll talk with him." Glancing up you meet Roan's gaze and offer him a smile. "Seriously. I'm good. I'll find you after." Roan then gives you a terse nod before picking his sword up off the ground and taking his leave.
Then turning back towards Bellamy, you sheepishly shrug at him for Roan's behavior. "Did you need something?"
"I'm sorry," he immediately says. "When Echo and I- she didn't say anything."
He wants to say more, but you hold up a hand and flash him a small smile. "Say no more. I've cooled down and slept on it, and I'm not angry," you tell him. "And if I'm being honest, I was never really angry to begin with. Just really hurt."
"I'm so-"
"Sorry. I know," you huff a laugh. "But it's been six years. I thought Echo was dead and she thought that there was a good chance I would be dead too." You shake your head sadly. "I don't blame her for moving on. Not really. And I most definitely don't blame you since you didn't know about me."
His mouth snaps shut and you mentally laugh at his shocked expression. He quickly schools his features and clears his throat. "Oh." This time you outright laugh and he seems to sag in on himself in relief. "Well okay then."
"Yeah. Anything else, Blake?"
"Actually.." He shifts nervously and you raise an eyebrow at his sudden unease. "Octavia hates Echo. She holds a grudge for that fight they had and would rather see Echo dead than accept her into Wonkru."
"I figured as much."
"But you- you and my sister are close. You're her Second," he says. "Maybe you can help convince-"
Again, you stop him mid-sentence. "It's already been done," you say. "Octavia is just making you sweat it out."
"What?"
"I've already explained to Octavia that when Echo stabbed her, it was on Roan's orders. The wound would have easily healed with time and it was no one's fault other than Octavia's that she threw herself off that cliff. I've told her what an asset Echo could be and Octavia's agreed to give her a chance. But make no mistake, Octavia will be looking for any little reason to get rid of her. Echo's on this ice right now, so she has to tread carefully."
Echo suddenly steps out of the shadows and you tense. When you see her conflicted expression, you inhale deeply before exhaling slowly. Once relaxed, you offer her a nod.
"Is that true?" She asks. When you nod once more and smile, Echo wastes no time in closing the distance between the both of you. She wraps you tightly in a hug and you return the embrace, you then subtly wiping away tears. She murmurs apology after apology, but your brush each one of them away. When you finally depart and Echo steps back to take Bellamy's hand in her own, the both of you smile at each other before softly laughing. "Can I ask you a question?"
"Of course."
"How long has Roan been your personal bodyguard?" You huff and roll your eyes. "I'm serious! You know he's in love with you. Right? Has been since before we were married."
"You're teasing."
"I'm really not. He was going to ask his mother for your hand, but we got married before he could make a move."
Her smug expression and Bellamy's smirk is enough to make you doubt what's real and what isn't. "But.. it's Roan! He was a Prince and then a King, and I'm just- I'm just-"
"Beautiful." Echo smiles sadly. "You are beautiful and have no ties to anyone. Not anymore. Roan will treat you right."
Gaping at her, you're snapped out of your shocked stupor when Bellamy snorts. You glance quickly between the two of them before making a quick escape and groan at the laughter echoing around the pit.
When you finally find Roan in the rooms you've shared with him and several other people, you're a little out of breath. There's a couple of people lingering in their beds and after a quick, "Can I please have a moment with Roan?", everyone is respectively abiding by your wishes. Roan stands up from his bottom bunk, an eyebrow raising in wonderment. "If I ask you something, will you be completely honest with me?"
He shrugs. "Haven't I always been honest with you?"
Instead of answering his question with a direct answer, you answer with a question of your own by bluntly asking, "Were you in love with me?" His small smile vanishes and he's taking a while to answer. "It's just.. Echo mentioned something. And now that I look back on past interactions between us and recent interactions it seems like you do. Well.. you might not love me, but I think there's a pretty good chance that you like me. Really like me."
"And if I did?"
"Then we really need to discuss the possibility of an 'us'." Roan's carefully schooled features morph into surprise. "For these passed six years, I've got to know you. The real you! Not Prince Roan and not King Roan. Just.. Roan."
"But yesterday-"
"Yesterday was a shock to the system," you say. "I thought Echo was dead, Roan. But then she wasn't, and I was surprised and overjoyed to see her alive. Then she attached herself to Bellamy's face which led to some jealousy flaring up, but it's not- I'm not.."
Roan closes the distance between the two of you, he grasping your face in his hands and pressing his lips to yours. Since he's taller than you, you have to step up on the tips of your toes and you shiver as his beard scratches around your mouth. Years of pent up tension and hidden passion is poured into the kiss, and you moan when he bites and pulls on your bottom lip.
Pulling your mouth free, you're left panting in the aftermath. Your hands have fisted into the front of Roan's shirt and you can't quite meet his gaze. Not yet. "I'm pretty sure my feelings are all sorted out, but if you want to give it a little time to make sure-"
"I'm done waiting." Roan captures your mouth in another kiss, this one a lot shorter than the first. "We'll deal with whatever comes up as it does. For now, I just want to enjoy this."
Slowly smirking, you finally meet his gaze and nod. "You know what? I like the way you think."
Before you and Roan can explore any more of this newly discovered intimacy, people start re-entering the room. One of them come carrying the message that Blodreina is looking for you, so with one last quick kiss from Roan you take your leave.
But leaving is for the best because you need to get your head on straight- everyone does. After Diyoza and her army of criminals have been taken care of, and Shadow Valley has been claimed by Wonkru, then.. and only then can you and Roan truly discover what you have between you.

Roan Imagine - Part 2
A little story about a girl who fell from the sky and the man who was believed to be made of ice. Their love and death.
The king of Azgeda hugged her, keeping her warm and safe. After few minutes she slowly placed her hand on his torso, opening her eyes. Roan put his hand on her cheek, cleaning blood with this thumb.
“Don’t ever do that again”, he whispered, looking in her eyes.
“It’s okay, Roan. I’m just a little scared of my own blood. I’m fine, my King”, she closed her eyes, leaning towards his hand.
“Rest”, he put her in the bed, kissing her forehead as a goodbye.
Roan left her after a few minutes when he took the body and went for a meeting. That night he understood how fragile she was. Laying in the night, looking at her fluttering eyelashes, he promised himself that no one will get to her ever again. She was patient, the girl thought that he would eventually let her go out somewhere. However, weeks past she was still locked up in a room. The girl became sad, her eyes became gray, she understood Roan, but wanted more. She wanted freedom. One day, she was gently stroking his hair, looking on his relaxed face. He was rarely so calm and quiet.
“Roan”, she whispered, smiling sadly.
He slowly opened his eyes, waking up from a nap, nodded to her.
“I wanted to tell you something”, she was clearly doubting to say, the king immediately sat on the bed, waiting for the worst words to come out of her mouth, but she gently pulled him back, grabbing his hand and placing it on her stomach that already started to get a little round.
“A child?”, he whispered in amazement.
She smiled at him, kissed his lips so gently he could misplace it with butterfly wings. But all-consuming fear got in his mind. One more weakness. The child will be his biggest weakness of all, and he doesn’t need that. Roan’s face changed so rapidly, the girl shook and sat further, hugging her knees, protecting the baby this way.
«No, Y/N, no. I won’t hurt you”, his heart dropped from her look. Roan sat closer, pulling her closer with his hand. “You know that, sky-girl”.
But the girl was still protecting the baby, shivering from his touch.
“Y/N”, whispered the king, “my flying girl. I’m sorry. I... I’m happy, but... ”. He couldn’t find right words. “Our child will be my weakest spot, Y/N. I already have you, but I can’t handle one more. I would not handle seeing someone hurt my child, people will use it against me. I’m the King of Azgeda. We’re at war. I can’t”.
“What am I...”, she raised her head, looking in his eyes angry and scared. “What am is supposed to do? Kill the child? Roan, I can’t”.
She jumped from the spot, throwing away his hands, walking away as far as she could from Roan. She looked like a tiger at that moment, protecting her baby.
“Banish me! Kill, torture, do anything you want, but I will not let you touch this child, Roan!”, the girl was furious, clanging her hands.

Keep them safe
So this imagine is a bit sadder than usual but I promise I'll have some quality fluff for you guys soon!
Basically this is before the Conclave and Roan is asking Indra to watch out for Ravenna and their unborn baby if anything happens to him
Tagging: @takenbymyfandoms 💕💕
Indra eyed the approaching Azgedan with annoyance. Roan was a good and honourable man but he was the leader of Trikru's sworn enemy and with Praimfaya quickly approaching, people's morals often fell by the wayside.
"What do you want, Roan?" Indra asked coldly as the king stopped in front of her.
"I recognize that I'm in no position to do this, but I need to make a request," Roan replied, keeping his voice even.
Indra grit her teeth. "And why would I do anything for you?"
Roan sighed, a few cracks starting to show in the stern facade he always showed the world. "Because I know you care about Ravenna and this is about her."
Indra paused. "I'm listening," she said, keeping her face indifferent.
"If I lose the conclave, my people will die. That includes Ravenna and our unborn child."
Roan paused as Indra looked at him in shock. "She's pregnant?" She asked in disbelief.
Roan nodded. "We only found out about a week ago," he sighed softly. "We're happy of course but with Praimfaya coming..." He shook his head with another sigh.
Indra thought for a moment. "Fine. What do you want me to do?"
"Make the leaders of each clan swear they'll let her into the bunker if they win."
Indra raised an eyebrow. "That won't be likely. She's Azgeda."
Roan sighed. "I know and I'm not asking for any promises. Just please try to convince them. She was always well loved by the clans."
Indra hesitated before nodding. "I'll see what I can do. And I can promise you now that if Trikru wins, Ravenna will be safe with us. As I know she'll be safe with Skaikru as well."
Roan swallowed and nodded, the thought of leaving his wife and baby behind affecting him more than he wanted to admit. "Thank you."
Indra nodded and Roan turned to walk away.
"Roan."
He stopped and looked over his shoulder at her.
"I may not like you but you're a good man. And a good husband."
Roan nodded. "Thank you, Indra."
He turned and walked away as Indra left to speak to the clan leaders.

Awkward Attraction (Final)
Pairings: Reader / Roan
Warnings: Swearing, Fluff...extra fluff, love and happy endings.
AN: I finally finished this off!!! Isn’t it a miracle. I loved writing this series so much and I hope everyone finds this a suitable ending for what has to be one of favourite imagine couples.
****
“The woman is a menace your Majesty” The cook’s bright red face was angry and screwed up in rage as he stood in the centre of the throne room. “She is a demon, a devil, born and bred to make my life a living hell”
“You mean my wife?” he asked his head chef.
“Who else could possibly incite such terror” the chef was on such a rampage that he’d forgotten to even try and mediate his words against his newly crowned queen. “The she devil simply walks into my kitchens and maids start weeping! The boys hide under tables and I am left to face the direct wrath of one who takes pleasure in pain”
“What did she do this time?” Roan asked calmly.
The Chef launched into a lengthy tale of his newest woe’s involving some suspect vegetables, the new boy in the kitchen ending up with a chopped finger and one of the maids refusing to work anymore in such a hostile environment.
When the chef had finished the doors to the back of the throne room opened and the women in question appeared. She glanced at the Chef and an evil smile cut across her face as she skipped up to the throne seating herself on the right arm leaning against Roan. The chef had gone pale upon seeing her but managed to bow his head at his new queen.
“Your majesty”
“Chef” Roan could hear the laughter in her voice that she was trying to hide. “I hope everything is ok in the kitchens”
“Of course, my lady”
“Good, I’ve actually decided on allowing the carrots to be in the soup” the Chef’s mouth opened and closed a few times like a fish flopping around on the ground with no water. Finally, though he simply bowed and backed out of the room. When the door had shut behind him both Roan and Y/N heard an explosion of swearing and cursing as the raging chef stormed down the corridor back towards the kitchen.
You could no longer stifle the giggles and snorting your laughter erupted from your mouth as you slid off the arm of the throne and onto Roan’s knee.
“He’s right you know”
“Right how?” you asked still laughing.
“You are a menace”
You stopped the laughter to smirk at him. “Be careful your majesty or I might have to get the kitchen boy to warn you how easy it is for my knife hand to… slip”
Roan just shook his head at you sliding his hand up into your hair and using the grip to angle your head down so he could kiss you. When he released you, your heart was pounding in beat to his own and your brains ability to speak had fled.
“Since when did you tolerate carrots in your soup?” Roan asked suddenly.
That evil smirk that the workers in Polis had come to dread slid onto your face as you adjusted yourself on Roan’s knee so you could stare him in the eyes. Leaning forward to kiss his nose you took his hand and placed it low onto your abdomen.
“I don’t like carrots. Someone else seems to though”
“What?” Roan’s brow creased in confusion as you glanced down at your stomach where you were pressing his hand against the still flat skin there. “Shit” Roan’s voice made you look back up where his own face had gone pale in shock. “Y/N… are you? Are we…?”
“Pregnant” you offered “the word your looking for is pregnant and the answer would be yes. I’m pregnant Roan”
A rapid succession of emotions flew across Roan’s face before finalising on joy as he shot out of his chair taking you with him as he spun around in wild circles with your feet hanging off the floor as he hugged you tight.
You were laughing when he put you back down, eyes sparkling in joy.
His hands framed you face. “I love you” he whispered. “so fucking much… you she devil”
“I love you too” smiling cheekily you added on. “Your majesty”
Laughing Roan pressed his lips against your own once more as you both stood there, wrapped up in each other. Together. Forever.

Roan x Reader [ the 100 ]
+ Roan is drunk one night and accidentally tells you he loves you. Partly inspired by Stormy Weather by The Kooks.
+ warnings: slight sexual insinuation
+ A/N: it’s been so long! I hope you guys like this :) another prompt ft’ing Roan will be posted soon so stay tuned!
You sat by the window to the balcony of your room in Polis. Storm clouds thundered overhead, lightning clapping and flashing, lighting up your face. The smell of wet earth wafted up even to your room high above the primitive metropolis.
You loved a good storm. Lifting yourself up from the bench by the window you walked over towards your bed, surrounded by lit candles. The flames flickered as you walked by, casting a warm glow throughout your grounder room.
You were about to lay in your soft, warm bed when a loud knock came at your door. Someone was fervently rapping against the metal door to your room.
You hoped no one was hurt, usually you were only bothered when Clarke or Bellamy or someone was hurt. You hoped they were safe back at Arkadia.
You wrapped yourself in a long coat and padded, barefoot over to the door. A squeal let out from the rusty doorknob and you pulled the door open.
Surprisingly, no one was standing there anxiously waiting to inform you of someone’s death. Instead it was King Roan, a very drunk Roan. The very King you may, or may not have been avoiding.
“Good evening, my King.” You stated sarcastically. As an ambassador for Skaikru you were expected to be polite and proper, but Roan knew better than to expect that from you. You were smart and a clever strategist but you were by no means going to follow the rules or expectations set for you.
Just another thing that Roan loves about you. You didn’t care for formalities or sugar coating things - no bullshit. Except for how you seem to be dodging him every chance you get.
“Hello Y/N.” He slurred. He brushed by you and let himself into your room. He sat down very ungraciously onto your bed with a loud grunt. He lifted his metal cup to his mouth and took a long, deep sip, closing his eyes so as to savor the drink as much as he can.
‘If he looks like that just enjoying a drink imagine his face when he c-‘ you shook your head, trying to shake away the naughty thought.
“And who do you think you are, barging into my room like this?” You asked, crossing your arms. You really wouldn’t have minded him barging into your room if not for the fact you had been avoiding him for weeks for a reason.
“Last time I checked, Love, I am your King.” He smirked and took another sip. “And you have been avoiding me. You do realize you have duties to your King?” His eyes peered over his cup at you as he finished it in one final swig. A droplet of the crimson liquor slipped down his cheek.
‘Duties to my king indee-‘ No! No more thoughts of your King like this.’ You mentally scolded yourself. This is why you had been avoiding his majesty.
Chuckling, you retort. “I have not been avoiding you.” You step towards Roan and grab the cup from his grasp, turning to set it on the table. You let out a yelp as two burly arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you backwards.
“Roan!” You said scornfully, turning your head to try and hide the rapidly developing blush from his sight. You felt his chest heave as he let out a hearty laugh behind you.
“Look me in the eyes, Y/N, and tell me you haven’t been avoiding me.” He said almost huskily, his hot breath fanning your cheek. You sucked in a breath and took your lip between your teeth.
“You’re drunk, Roan.” You tried to stand but his grip only tightened. His fingers dug into your hips. That’ll definitely bruise.
‘Just imagine the bruises he could give you for-‘ your blush deepened at the thought of intimacy with Roan. Sure you had a thing for him but that would be wildly inappropriate and would probably risk the new neutrality secured for Skaikru. ‘You were sent here to ensure your people’s safety, not risk it because the King so happens to be obnoxiously attractive.’
“That doesn’t mean I don’t notice you avoiding me. Leaving any room I enter, making excuses to miss training sessions that you know I’ll be at, playing sick for political appointments.” His grip loosened and his face came close to yours. You felt his chest flush against your back. This time you made no action to get up, even as your heart thumped in your chest you thought all of Polis should be able to hear it.
“T-that isn’t true.” You gulped. His hand reached up and grasped your chin and turned you to look at him. His beautiful glacier blue eyes caught yours and didn’t let go.
“I know why you’ve been avoiding me, Y/N.” You bit your lip anxiously. So you have feelings for him, from all the close encounters training and the looks he gives you at meetings and dinners. You knew it wouldn’t be right to expect anything to develop so you put space between him and you, but the way he’s looking at you right now has you melting - in more than one sense of the word.
“What do you want?” It came out for a husky whisper than the strong, determined persona you were going for. You let out a shaky breath as his face inches closer, breaths mingling. His gaze never wavered as the space between you became smaller and smaller.
He didn’t reply with words but with his mouth. His lips came crashing onto yours, sloppy from the drink but not unenjoyable. After a few seconds of hesitation your arms slithered up around his neck and his found your waist. Neither of you separated until you both needed air.
Gasping for air, Roan rested his forehead against yours. His cheeks were tinted pink from lack of oxygen, alcohol, exhilaration, or all three.
His crystalline eyes caught your’s once again, enraptured you couldn’t move. You waited for him to make the next move - either to run off or continue, you weren’t sure.
“Y/N,” he whispered, his hand came up and tucked a strand of Y/H/C hair behind your ear. “I love you.”
You couldn’t hold back the massive grin itching to spread across your face.
“I love you, too, your highness.”

“Roan.” you called after him, jogging to catch up. he turned and looked at you while the rest of his people continued walking, deeming you no threat. “i just wanted to say thank you. i know that not all your people agree with an alliance between us so you’re really putting yourself in a not so great position.”
Roan looked you up and down.
“i just...” you felt the need to fill the silence, “i wanted to thank you, again, on behalf of all my people.”
“if you want to thank me, thank me from yourself. i could care less about your people.” he stated, “i did it for you and you alone.”
you were shocked. and he could tell.
thats when he grabbed you, arms wrapping around your waist and pulling you to him, he kissed you, tilting you back. he pulled you back up and pulled away, taking a step back to see your reaction. you just stared at him in shock, speechless. he could tell it was a success, “i love you.” he stated, “thats why i agreed to the alliance.”

Imagine: As Cold As Ice.
Requested by love32111. Includes: King Roan of Azgeda x Sister!Reader Request: * If your still taking request can you make a roan x reader!sister au imagine where she turns out to be really badass
Note: An AU doesn’t follow the plot line of the show, so this is just an imagine.
Short bc you didn’t really give me enough information as to what you wanted.
People had their doubts, they whispered, they stared, they even went to the extent of trying to sway Roan to get him to have his own doubts. But Roan never listened to them. People had assumed that, with the quiet demeanour and lack of violent outbursts, you were nothing like your mother. They had barely scratched the surface with who you truly were. There was also doubt, that if Roan wasn't crowned, that you wouldn't have made a righteous Queen, one that fed off fear and destruction like she had done. But Queen Nia was now dead, thanks to Lexa, and Roan was now crowned King. The relationship between you and your older brother was better than the one you had with your own mother—despite Roan being banished for years and having no way of contacting him. After Lexa had died, and Ontari was killed because of Jaha and the chip, Roan had to take charge of Polis and the other clans. Many of the clans were upset and wanted to have the ambassadors take over and rule Polis before they found a worthy Nightblood to accept the role of Commander, but Azgeda wasn't ready to give up their power just yet.
Roan sat down on his throne, listening to Echo before she left. You couldn't help but laugh as the door closed behind her, slouching in the chair by the table next to the wall, facing away from the door and towards the window behind Roan. He turned his head to look at you. "Do you want to say something?" He tilted his head.
There was a brief pause before you shrugged a shoulder. "You're so… forced." You laughed again.
"Excuse me?"
You turned your head away from the knife you had balanced on the table, with the tip pointed at the table, carving a small hole in the wood, humming quietly as you smirked to yourself, staring at the floor. "You know, having a crown on your head doesn't mean you need a stick up your ass too."
Roan closed his eyes, never hearing the end of it from you. "I don't—"
"Skaikru is trying to help, Echo is making things worse," you interrupted. "You know I'm right. Clarke is your friend, despite how you treat her and her people occasionally."
"You think you can do a better job? Of negotiating with those people?"
"I know I can. Doesn't mean I want to."
"Why not?" He opened his eyes again, looking at you, watching as your smirk slowly dropped and your blank expression came back.
"I'm not our mother, and it's not my job."
Roan sighed. "I know."
"Our people think I'm weak," you spat, your top lip turned up in disgust as you thought of everything your mother had you do secretively while she was on the throne, knowing that no one else from Azgeda, who was alive that is, actually knew what you were capable of.
"You aren't," Roan argued.
After letting out a sigh, you tilted your head, glancing back at the knife, jamming it into the wood where it stayed before you rested your arm against the end of the table. "I would have gladly killed our mother and Ontari if given the chance."
"I know." He nodded. "But there would have been a riot."
"Over our mother, sure, not Ontari."
Roan looked back to the doors, both of his arms resting on the sides. "No one liked her."
You laughed again. "You can say that again, brother."
There was another knock at the door, your laughter died down and you ripped the knife from the wooden table, twirling it in your hand instead. Roan sighed, taking his eyes off you before he looked back to the door. "Come in," his gruff voice echoed around the room. The door opened with a loud creak, footsteps emerged into the room, as well as the scuffing of feet, clanking of chains, and muffled voices gagged by a piece of cloth. "What's the meaning of this?" Roan asked. You turned your head to the side, noticing Clarke chained up with Kane, but it wasn't something you hadn't seen before.
"They're keeping secrets from you, sire," one of the guards informed him.
"About what?"
"W-We don't know, sire."
You laughed quietly. "So, you hog tied and chained them? Was the gagging really necessary? It's not like they were going to speak anyway if what you're saying is true." The guard turned to look at you, glaring before he turned back to Roan.
"We should have them killed."
"Oh," you said loudly. "What a surprise, kill them before they tell us the truth. Very noble. But not very smart."
"Shut up," the guard hissed.
Roan held his hand up to silence him. "Leave us."
"But sire."
"Leave."
"Sire—"
You stood up, throwing the knife back, lodging it into the guard’s throat. "He said leave." Roan watched as you slowly turned to face the guard, stalking towards him as he dropped to his knees choking. "Last time I checked, you were meant to obey and listen to your King, not disobey him."
The guard tried to speak, but you shushed him like a mother would to her child, shaking your head, he had tears well up in his eyes. There was a glint in your eyes as you placed your left hand on the hilt of the sword that hung by your right hip. His eyes widened as he gripped onto his neck, trying to stop the bleeding. Roan said nothing as he heard the sword being removed from its holder. You held it up, watching as the candle light shone off it. While sighing, you glanced down to the guard, he tried to shake his head as you moved the sword, getting ready to swing it. Clarke and Kane turned to look at Roan, to see if he was going to stop it, but instead, he was smiling, watching proudly as you whispered in a dark voice.
"Yu gonplei ste odon."
The sword sliced through his neck, the small knife fell to the floor, clanging against the ground as his head rolled off to the side. You brought your right leg up and kicked his body back, smiling with satisfaction as it landed with a heavy thud. The sword dropped with blood, and, as you held it up still, the blood stained the white bandages you had around your hands, along with the hilt of the sword. You wiped the blood off slowly on your sleeve before putting it back, crouching down to pick up the smaller knife.
"What do you want done with the body?" You asked Roan, staring down at it as the blood continued to pour out around it.
"Throw it out with the rest of them."
"And what do you want me to tell his family?"
By this time, you knew Clarke and Kane were looking at you horrified, having believed the rumours that you were nothing more than Roan's shy, younger sister. Roan tilted his head. "Tell them the truth, he was a coward and a traitor, you could have given him a more painful death, but you spared him of that."
You hummed. "That I did, brother, that I did."

~~~~~~~~~~
I was on the balcony, looking over Azgeda. I wasn't looking at something, I was trying to find someone: my husband, Roan. After our discussion he just disappeared. The guards are looking for him for 2 days now. I don't have any idea where he might go. A lot of things has changed since he "died".
While I was going to my bed to get some rest, the guards burst into my room.
"We found him, my Queen."
"What? Where is he? I need to talk to him, now!"
"He's in the garden, my Queen. He is waiting for you."
After that, I ran towards the garden. He was there. He really was. At first, I didn't know what to do. Now I'm starting to ask myself: is he in love with me anymore?
"Come. Sit with me. I will not bite."
I sat beside him, as he wanted and I started to feel awkward. It's like I'm sitting next to a stranger, not next to my husband.
"Where have you been?"
"Doesn't matter. Just wanted to clear my mind and to think about what happened between us."
"I need explanations, Roan. I am still very confused."
"Well, I need explanations too. A lot of things have changed. Things I never wanted to be changed..."
"Well, you are the first one to give explanations, so go on."
He let out a sigh then moved his gaze towards me. God, how much I missed him. I realize that now more than ever.
"Well... I should start saying I had a good reason to fake my death. I made a deal with Octavia to kill Luna together. After that, we will kill each other. Octavia betrayed me and has let me fight alone with Luna. I was very injured, I knew I was going to die. So, when she was trying to drown me, I held my breath as much as I could. And when she started to fight with Octavia, I ran far away."
"But... you were gone for 4 years. Why didn't you come to me that night, after the battle was done?"
"Because I knew that if I'll come, they would not let us in the bunker. I wanted you to be safe."
"And where were you hiding?"
"A secret place I have found before the battle started."
I couldn't believe it. Every night I was crying for him and he was there, somewhere, alive. He lied to me.
"And actually... While I was missing, I was trying to find Skaikru. I really want to speak with Octavia about what happened."
"Well, there is something you need to know. Octavia is dead. She died in the bunker."
"What? Why? Who killed her? Was that person trying to kill you too?"
"Um... I am the one who killed her..."
He was shocked. His eyes were wide open. He was trying to find his words. He managed to ask just one thing:
"Why?"
"I heard what happened, about the deal. I hated to know that you died because of her. She didn't deserved to win and I wanted revenge. So, I killed her with my own hands."
"I guess a lot of things have changed..."
We looked at each other for a couple of seconds. Now we realise how much we changed. And we don't know yet if it's for the best, or for the worse.
"Now it's your turn. I guess you have a lot more to share. And... I really want to know who is the lucky one."
"The lucky one? Roan, I didn't married another man. You are the only man I want in my life. A lot of people have forced me to meet someone, but I couldn't. I still love you."
"And what about... the child?"
I knew he will be more interested about this subject. Well, I had a little plan in my mind. Thanks to God, my son is playing everyday in the garden. I knew he saw and heard everything.
"My prince, please show yourself and come here."
Immediately, climbed down a tree. He came to me slowly. He is always shy at first. I took him in my arms, putted him on my knees, making him face Roan.
"Well, King Roan, I want you to meet Prince Roan, the next King of Azgeda."
"Why did you named him after me?"
"Because I missed you... a lot. And I thought the name will fit him perfectly."
"Who is the father?"
I was thinking for an answer to make him remember this day forever. The day he finally mets his son. But, the little one wanted to be the first one to announce him that.
"Mommy... You told me I was named after my father. And he was the King. Does this mean that he is my father?"
I was looking in Roan's eyes. They were looking with hope at me for an answer.
"Yes, my beautiful Prince. He is your father."
After that, I couldn't tell who is more happy. Roan, me or our son. He hugged us tight and kissed my temple. Then, he took little Roan in his arms. Now I see how much of his father appearance he took. He will break a lot of hearts, just like my husband.
"Lexus, you don't know how happy you just made me, but... How? How is he my child?"
"Do you remember the day we talked just before you had to go to fight for the conclave? I wanted to tell you something. And I said I will tel you after you will win the battle."
"You wanted to tell me you're pregnant... Oh my God... How stupid I was not letting you to tell me..."
"It doesn't matter now, right? I'm happy you're back. I know our son is happy to finally meet his father. Let's just forget about what happened."
"I really like your idea. Now, I have time to spend with my lovely wife and child. I will never let you alone again."
"I know. We know."
He smiled at me and then at our little child. He took him in one arm and then took my hand with the free one. We started to walk together to our room, not before giving me a kiss I was waiting for a long time.
"I love you so much, Lexus. Both of you. You made me the most happiest man ever."
"We love you too, Roan. You have no idea how much we can love you."
Maybe This Wasn’t a Bad Match-part 2
(a/n): Hi guys! I’m back and I am so happy about that! Sorry I've been MIA for the past few months. Everything has been crazy and I started my new job so that exciting! Anyways enough with my rambling cause we all know who really important here. Roan! Anyways the song for this is Wicked games by Urisine ft. annaca: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PoIisbJ7HI
Summary: I just found ur blog and was so fucking excited! (I’m so excited I just can’t hide it) Anyway can I have a Roanxreader where she is from Skaikru and they form an alliance by marriage & it’s their wedding, he doesn’t force anything on her till she comfortable & a month or so she is ready and smut and fluff. Plz and thx - Hey, read all your Roan imagines! I love the “Hunting Skai-Renegades” imagine the most. I was hoping you could do an imagine where the reader is Kane’s Daughter and, to make an alliance with Ice Nation, the commander arranges for the reader and Roan to get married. Please!! Your writing is amazing!!!
you shake with nerves as you wait inside, behind the double doors that lead outside. That is where your fate awaited you. Where your future with Roan began. You couldn’t deny that everything was absolutely beautiful, even your dress and white furs was perfect. It was a dress that had been made from the finest fabric an apocalyptic world could find. On the ark there were no weddings like this at all, just a bunch of paperwork that needed to be filled out and, that was all there was to it.
You hoped to get this over soon before you lost your nerve and, as if The first commander, Becca, had heard you the doors open and there Roan was, dressed in his finest clothing and furs that matched my very own. He stood tall and proud, you could tell he was eager. You could feel his impatience and excited from the doorway but, suddenly you became aware of all the eyes staring at you expectantly and, you froze in place. You stand there for a minute, you could tell Roan had become worried as he shifted his feet and took a slight step towards you. He was probably worried you would bolt like a deer and honestly you didn’t blame him at all. Half of you wanted to be selfish for once and do exactly that.
Finally you closed your eyes, took a deep breath and open your eyes once more. Your eyes were determined and fierce, showing no sign of hesitation as you began to move, powerfully, down the aisle. You could see Roan visibly become more relaxed as you got closer to him. Finally you reached him and he quickly took your hand in his, just to pull you closer to him as you stood on the altar together. The priest came forward so you could speak your wedding vows and, boy he couldn’t read them fast enough but finally you got to the ‘I do’s’ and you quickly spoke them before Roan pulled you into a passionate kiss. It was awkward and strangely natural for you but for him it was everything that he dreamed your wedding kiss would be like.
After letting him enjoy it a little more you swiftly pulled away so you both could face the cheering crowd. This was it done. As of right now you were married to Roan and were now the official princess and future queen of Azgeda. You looked at Roan to see him already looking at you and he slightly smiled as joy danced in his eyes before he turned back to the crowd. You did the same after it finally sank in what had just happened.
You thought to yourself, ‘This is it. This is your new life now.
And there was no escaping it, ever.
You and Roan sat at a table on a dais as everyone below drank, ate and, danced to the rhythm of the beating drums. You had seen grounders act wild and crazy before but not in a way that was non-threatening and, at first, it had scared you a little till you realized they weren’t going to kill you. Roan sat beside you with his hand on your upper thigh as he talked to one of his fellow azgeda warrior, who had congratulated him on marrying such a beautiful and strong woman as he glanced at you. Roan hand tightened on your thigh as you gave a stiff nod in acknowledgement of the complement. You saw Queen Nia making her way to the dais and the warrior quickly left with a fleeting goodbye and, he bowed his head in greetings to the Queen which she ignore as her eyes were set on you. She came to stand in front of both of you, her eyes never leaving yours.
“Hello, my dear,” she spoke, to which you quickly greeted her back as you glanced at your family on the dais below you, who were watching carefully. “So how does it feel to be the princess of azgeda and it’s people.” she chuckled, as she looked at you with what almost looked like mischief in her eyes.
You opened your mouth only to close it, for the first time you were at a loss of words. You thought you had been so prepared for this question as you were expecting it but, as of right now she had stumped you and you just sat there staring like an idiot. She lightly laughed again and waved her hand dismissively.
“I’m only teasing you, little one, It’s a lot to take in. Trust me I would know better than anyone seeing as I was also in an arranged marriage.” She said, knowingly. Your eyes widened upon hearing this, you wanted to ask her more but she spoke before you could,
“Well, I only came to give my son and his beautiful blushing bride my best wishes. So may you have a long and happy life together.”
Roan nodded and stiffly said his gratitude as did you as you let your mind wander.
When Queen Nia left, you were brought back to the present as Roan motioned a guard over and told him not to let anyone pass so he could spend time with you. The guard nodded his head and went back to his post as Roan turned toward you with a small smile. His hand left your thigh and came up to hold your hand as he spoke,
“Are you enjoying yourself, ai hod?” You nodded your head as you glanced down at your food shyly and he let out a deep chuckle that you could see rattling his chest. He lifted his other hand and took her chin gently only to turn your face to his. His eyes held kindness, “there’s no need to be shy, ai gona, I am your husband now. Speak your mind, ai hod” he said.
You took a deep breath and spoke soft but strongly, “I want this marriage to work out more than anything.” he made a sound in agreement. “I’m just worried i won’t be what you expected and decide you don’t want me anymore.” you finished.
He shook his head as he tenderly cupped your cheek. “I would never do such a thing. I-” He stopped short before continuing, “I care for you to much to do something so stupid!”
You nodded as you looked at him and you opened your mouth again to speak of your deepest fear about this marriage. “And then there is the whole wedding night to think about now-” Roan quickly interrupted your rambling,
“I would never pressure you into something as important as this. I want you to be completely comfortable. I want you to want me too.” he spoke softly for only you to hear. You searched his eyes for lies. You found none and for the first time since all this began, you smiled a true smile. His eyes lit up as he saw your smile, to know he was the cause of such happiness brought a smile to his face. That’s all he want. To be the reason that his love was happy and content.
You nodded your head as you look down then back up to him. Then you finally understood the feeling you got when you looked at him.
‘I’m falling in love with Roan.’ You thought.
You looked back to the crowd to see Nia staring at you with a knowing look. She slightly smile, and it remind you very much of someone. You looked back to Roan. You found he was already staring at you with something in his eyes that you finally understood. Love.
Maybe you could be happy. Maybe this wasn't a bad match at all.
