The way Camilla is actually Queen Consort, not the actual Queen of the UK, but news media and monarchists treat her like she's the actual queen....just...the fucking holy shitness of awarding her for all she did to Diana and still does to Meghan.

ROYAL WEDDING UPDATE: FAMILIAR FACES ARRIVE AT BRINDLETON ABBEY
It's most definitely a ROYAL wedding!
Guests have started to arrive for Gus and Anya's big day and some of them are quite familiar, especially to long-term royal fans!
Tumblr media
Among the first to arrive were Prince Liam and Princess Marisse of Glimmerbrook. The couple happen to be good friends with The Crown Princess, and the latter was there during their wedding a few years ago.
The King and Queen of Sulani also graced the red carpet. Queen Marguerite paid homage to Brindleton by rocking a bright blue coat dress and matching accessories. Her Majesty has struck quite a friendship with The Crown Princess when the latter made her first official overseas tour to Sulani about a decade ago.
Tumblr media
A pregnant Princess and a pregnant Queen were also photographed arriving at the Abbey. Princess Katrine, accompanied by her new husband, was blooming in violet. Her Royal Highness is pregnant with their first child, and is said to be in her first trimester. Princess Katrine, who used to date Prince Alistair, is good friends with both the Crown Princess and Princess Ingrid.
Selvadorada's Queen Julia, meanwhile, is in her second trimester. Her Majesty is expecting her third child with King Ishmael. Crown Princess Anya is actually the godmother of their eldest child, Princess Amara.
Tumblr media
Speaking of "Selvadorada," King Ishmael's younger brother, Prince Alfonso (a.k.a Prince Fonsi), arrived separately. The handsome Prince and Crown Princess Anya go way back, first meeting as university students in Rennaux. The two were also romantically linked for years, but neither confirmed the rumours.
Interestingly enough, tennis superstar Sir Sterling Guildford was next to arrive. Sir Sterling, like Prince Fonsi, was also rumoured to have dated The Crown Princess. The stories, however, were never confirmed to be true.
Tumblr media
Al-Simhara's teen monarch, King Hakim surprised royal watchers everywhere when he arrived at the Abbey. Relations between the Al-Simharan Royal Family and the Brindleton Royal Family are said to be "strained," which can be traced back to then Crown Princess Emilia's broken engagement (once upon a time, our Queen was engaged to King Hakim's father, the late King Phillip), all the way to the drama that surrounded Eleanore and Ibrahim's two engagements and subsequent marriage. However, a certain degree of civility appears to be maintained, at least for official occasions. Crown Princess Anya represented Brindleton during the late King's funeral. For what it's worth, the young King Hakim seems to have nothing against Anya and the other Brindleton royals. The same probably can't be said about his brother Ibrahim and his sister-in-law, Eleanore, though.
Tumblr media
The Crown Princess Gianna of Tartosa, and her husband, Prince Armando, were also present for the occasion. Her Royal Highness recently gave birth to their first child a few months ago. The Tartosan royal couple, especially the Crown Princess, is great friends with Crown Princess Anya. Anya has credited Gianna for being the "matchmaker" that brought her back together with Gus.
Rennaux was also well-represented. The Rennauxi Queen, Josephine, accompanied by her Prince Consort and her daughter, Crown Princess Theodora, also walked the red carpet after arriving via one of the state limousines. Queen Josephine is Prince Jacques' eldest sister, which makes her the bride's paternal aunt.
Tumblr media
The "royal cousins" were also in full force! The usually elusive Holm brothers showed up to support Anya. Luke was accompanied by his wife, Penny. Leon was also joined by his wife, Lady Chloe. Luke's son is a page boy, while Leon's daughter is one of Anya's bridesmaids.
Empress Alice's daughters from her first marriage were also present. First to arrive was Olivia Dorsey-Chegeya, along with her husband, PM Khari of Zauvuria. The Duke and Duchess of Fjord (Emily and Garrett) followed close by. Olivia and Khari's son is one of the page boys, while Emily and Garrett's daughter is a bridesmaid.
Tumblr media
Last but definitely not the least, Empress Alice and Emperor Kenji also walked down the red carpet. They were joined by the Emperor's daughter from his first marriage, Hanna, Princess Royal. The wedding marks Princess Hanna's first big international event. The lovely young lady looked beautiful in a blue maxi dress, which she accessorised with a bejewelled fascinator.
Stay tuned for more royal wedding updates and arrivals!

The day of Genevote's baptism arrived too quickly for the prince's liking. His instincts had turned almost paranoid in a way. He didn't want his daughter to be handled by anybody who could be ill, anybody who could be untrustworthy, anybody who might potentially drop her, anybody at all outside of her wetnurse and himself.
But he recognized the importance of the Watcher's protection and the duty of himself as a member of the royal family and one of the highest of the nobility to follow tradition.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luckily, himself and Elizabeth had discussed godparents while she was still alive.
The king was still too grief-stricken to handle yet another child in his care but Robert had two brothers. Prince Consort Phillip was glad to accept the position of godfather. Sure, the two brothers might not be the closest but they are still family.
And despite his cruel tendencies, he had always been fiercely protective of the little ones in the family. He would protect his niece with his life if need be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for godmother? It wouldn't do to snub Queen Marjory. Not only was she his brother's wife, but she was practically a sister to Elizabeth.
On top of this, she had taken to being a mother and godmother to several children. There was something about her that even calmed Phillip's cruel spirit. That was exactly what he wanted passed on to his daughter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On top of that? He knew that Marjory wouldn't drop Genevote into the baptismal font.
Perhaps he should speak to the Mouths of the Watcher about the fact that these horrible things are plaguing his mind. That he fears every way that his little girl may perish...
But right now? He's just focused on her officially joining the Church of the Watcher.

On July 17th 1328 David II son of Robert Bruce married Joan, sister of Edward III, he was 4, she was 7.
David succeeded to the throne the following year on the death of his father Robert I and was crowned at Scone in 1331., Joan was crowned as Queen consort, the first time a wife of a Scottish monarch was honoured as such.
The regency was in the hands of Thomas Randolph of Moray until he and David were overthrown in 1332 by Edward Ballioat the Battle of Dupplin Moor near Perth during the second War of Scottish Independence.
David was restored to the throne the following year but again overthrown when Balliol returned with Edward III and defeated the Scots at Halidon hill. David and Joan fled to France where they were guests of King Phillip VI.
In 1341 the Scottish nobles under Robert Stewart gained the upper hand and David and Joan were able to return to Scotland and were restored to the throne. Five years later in 1346 David attacked England in support of France while Edward III was away fighting in France. The Scots were defeated at Nevillie’s Cross near Durham where David was injured and taken prisoner. He was held captive in England for 11 years until 1357 when under the Treaty of Berwick he was allowed to return to Scotland for a ransom of 100,000 merks ‘A King’s Ransom’. The full amount was never paid.
Queen Joan died in 1362, and David married Margaret Drummond but there were no children from either marriage. David was succeeded by his nephew Robert II.

Queen Cam is pissing me off, Celta. She gave the annual speech on Armed Forces Day in the UK which is King Charles III's responsibility. Clearest example how Charles wants Camilla to co-reign with him. It surprises me to some degree that Charles wants his second wife to reign with him considering he's a very selfish man. I don't care if Charles is feeling poorly right now, he had plenty of time to pre-record this speech in the weeks before this event (and often does pre-record speeches anyway).
Jun 30 Ask
Hi Nonny,
I just saw an article from the Daily Express with the following headline "Queen Camilla opts for blue on royal visit following battle with Princess Kate over hue". The 'battle' was a nothing-burger, but the tone of the article irks me, as it seems to be about Queen Camilla graciously allowing other royal ladies to wear blue as well as her, as blue is suddenly her favourite colour (sudden as in I have never heard this before).
I don't know if this is another 'look how wonderful Camilla is' article like all the others that we have had all year, or if I am misinterpreting it, but I am very, very tired of the 'shove Camilla down our throats as the best thing since sliced bread' PR.
I am also tired of Camilla acting like a co-regent and not a consort, as per your ask above. She should be modelling her behaviour on Prince Phillip and not the late Queen. As you said, it is The King's responsibility to give that speech, and if he is unable to or doesn't want to record one before hand, then it is the responsibility of the heir to fill in for him, not the consort (like Her Late Majesty sent The Prince of Wales to stand in for her and not The Prince Consort).
King Charles will do what he wants to do, as all monarchs do, and all the rest of us can do is live with it and have our own opinions on the matter.

Quid est martyrium? Mortem pati pro Christo. Quid est Christianum? Christum sequi*
- St. Augustine
What is martyrdom? To suffer death for Christ. What is a Christian? To follow Christ.*
After the restoration of the western towers of the Abbey had been completed in 1995, it was decided to fill the 10 gothic niches above the west doorway with statues. The lower part of the towers date from the 15th century and the tops of the towers were completed in 1745. The niches never had statues, although this was obviously the plan of decoration.
It was decided to use the ten niches not just to commemorate saints or worthy figures from the past. So instead of traditional figures of kings or saints, the abbey decided that martyrs of the 20th century should be remembered. The West entrance was to proclaim a message of which too few people are aware: the 20th century was a century of Christian martyrdom. Although the statues are of individual martyrs they are intended to represent all those others who have died (and continue to die) in similar circumstances of oppression and persecution. Their statues were drawn from every continent and many Christian denominations.
Four sculptors completed the statues, carved from French Richemont limestone. The Archbishop of Canterbury, George Carey, unveiled the statues in July 1998 at a service attended by HM Queen Elizabeth II.
Tumblr media
The ten Christian modern martyrs are (from left to right):
Maximilian Kolbe: a Catholic priest who helped Jews in Poland and who died in Auschwitz in 1941 after offering to take the place of a condemned man.
Manche Masemola: a 16-year-old girl from South Africa who was killed by her parents in 1928 when she converted to Christianity.
Janani Luwum:  the Archbishop of Uganda who was murdered on the orders of Idi Amin in 1977.
Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna: a member of the Russian Imperial family (by marriage) who founded a convent but was murdered by the Bolsheviks during the Russian Revolution.
Martin Luther King: the American civil rights campaigner who was murdered in 1969.
Oscar Romero: the Archbishop of San Salvador, murdered by a death squad in 1980.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer: a Lutheran theologian who was implicated in the bomb plot against Adolf Hitler and executed in 1945.
Esther John: a Pakistani nurse and Christian evangelist who was murdered by a Muslim relative in 1960.
Lucian Tapledi: an Anglican in New Guinea who was killed by invading Japanese troops in 1942.
Wang Zhiming: a Christian pastor in China who was executed in 1973 during the Cultural Revolution.
In June 1953, during Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation, she entered through the west door of London’s Westminster Abbey. During her arrival, she was received by massed choirs singing “I was glad when they said unto me, we will go into the house of the Lord” (Psalm 122, 1-3,6, 7.)
On 6 May, King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla will be crowned at Westminster Abbey. For many, this will be the first coronation they have ever seen. The ceremony will follow a pattern laid out in the Liber Regalis, kept at Westminster Abbey and which has informed the pattern of coronations since the 14th century. The service which will see the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla will include the same elements as the historic coronations which have gone before and everything starts with their entry to the Abbey. This means King Charles III will enter the Abbey through the West door and under the statues of these 10 Christian modern martyrs.
Tumblr media
For King Charles III it will have a particular personal resonance as he will walk under the soulful gaze of his great-great aunt through his father’s side (the late Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh), Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna.
Elizabeth of Hesse-Darmstadt was born on 1 November 1864. Her mother died when she was a child, and she came to England to live with her grandmother, Queen Victoria. Her childhood was Lutheran and her adolescence was Anglican. Elizabeth married Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich, the fifth son of Tsar Alexander II of Russia in 1884, and joined the Orthodox Church in 1891.
When her husband was assassinated in 1905, she gave away all her jewellery, sold her most luxurious possessions, and opened the Martha and Mary home in Moscow. Elizabeth and 17 of her companions formally became nuns in 1909. They soon opened a hospital and began other philanthropic works.
The Tsarist state collapsed in March 1917, and the Bolsheviks seized power in October 1917. Elizabeth was arrested with two sisters from her convent on 7 May 1918, and transported across country to Perm, then to Ekatarinburg, and finally to Alapaevsk. On 17 July, the Tsar and his family were shot dead. During the following night, Elizabeth, Sister Varvara, and members of the royal family were murdered in a mineshaft. Elizabeth was recognised as a saint by the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad in 1984 and by the Moscow Patriarchate in 1992.
Tumblr media
Had there been more than ten niches available, there would have been other candidates available for inclusion in Westminster Abbey. As it stands, this memorial makes a powerful statement about the fact that people are still dying for their Christian beliefs in the present age. Although most cathedrals only seem to commemorate people who are long-dead and long-forgotten, Westminster Abbey bucked the trend in a dramatic and highly poignant way.

Prince Charles opens a playground named after him!
Tumblr media
(The young Crown Prince arriving with his parents)
Prince Charles, at just three years old, has already had his first experience as a representative of the royal family! Today, in the company of his parents, Queen Isabella and Prince Phillipe, Charles inaugurated the new playground "Prince Charles Park". This event marked a milestone, as the little prince is the youngest direct heir to the throne in the world to participate in such an event.
Tumblr media
(HM The Queen, HRH The Prince Consort and HRH The Crown Prince)
Prince Charles made his appearance dressed in a charming outfit suitable for the occasion chosen by his mother, our beloved Queen. He sported an olive green wool sweater with small beige details and mustard-colored shorts, which he perfectly matched with brown high socks with fox ears. To complete the look, he carried a fox-shaped backpack that made him look even more adorable.
During the opening, the young heir tried out each of the park's attractions with the help of his parents. He slid down the slides under the watchful eye of his father, Prince Phillipe, and climbed the monkey bars with the help of his mother, Queen Isabella. Charles also had fun playing in the sand and swinging on the swings, proving to be a cheerful and lively child. Those who witnessed the event couldn't help but be enchanted by the little prince, highlighting how close he is to his parents and the adorable family they form together.
Tumblr media
(Prince Charles sliding down the slide accompanied by his father.)
Tumblr media
(Prince Charles playing on the monkey bars with his mother)
Although Princess Annelise, who is only one year old, did not accompany her parents and brother on this occasion, it is hoped that she will soon be seen at an official event with her family.
Comments section:
RoyalFanatic: How adorable is Prince Charles! He looks like he'll be a great leader one day. Queen Isabella and Prince Phillipe must be very proud.
GregBenneth: It's amazing to see how Charles is already taking part in official events at his young age. I'm sure he'll be a great king one day. The royal family is in good hands!
JulietWinston: It's a shame Princess Annelise wasn't there today too although I understand she's just a baby and I'm so glad to see Prince Charles having so much fun.
RoyaltyLover: I love the little prince's look, that fox backpack is the cutest thing I've ever seen! How lucky we are to have such a wonderful royal family.

ANYA IN AL-SIMHARA
The Crown Princess attended the state memorial service for the late King Phillip of Al-Simhara.
Her Royal Highness arrived early in the morning via one of the royal jets. The overseas engagement is considered an official trip.
HRH's trip has been the subject of much controversy, with some urging Anya to skip the occasion altogether to avoid visiting "enemy territory" in support of her sister, Eleanore, and her brother-in-law, Ibrahim.
Tumblr media
Despite the ruckus, Anya appears to have received a warm welcome in Al-Simhara, and even met with new King Hakim, the Queen Mother, and Princess Raya.
Tumblr media
The Crown Princess was joined by other royals and heads-of-state from other countries, including PM Khari Chegeya who also happens to be married to Anya's first cousin, Olivia. The trio was spotted going down the famed steps of the Al-Simhara Royal Gardens.
Some of the other royals in attendance were the King and Queen of Selvadorada, The Queen of Sulani, The Queen and Prince Consort of Rennaux, Queen Estafania of Tartosa who was accompanied by her younger son, Prince Javier, and The Queen of Arendahl.
Tumblr media
For her trip to the oil-rich kingdom, The Crown Princess went with an all-black ensemble consisting of a military-style coat dress and a wide brimmed hat. HRH kept her accessories at a minimum opting for a pair of pearl cluster earrings.
Tumblr media
Anya is expected to return home later this evening, in time to face tomorrow's jam-packed schedule.

Sleeping Beauty (1959, Clyde Geronimi, Eric Larson, Wolfgang Reitherman and Les Clark)
11/02/2024
Sleeping Beauty is a 1959 animated film directed by Clyde Geronimi, Eric Larson, Wolfgang Reitherman and Les Clark, made with the animation technique and produced by Walt Disney based on the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty by Charles Perrault.
It is the 16th Disney Classic and was released in the United States on January 29, 1959 distributed by Buena Vista Distribution.
In the wake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella, the Studio revived a classic folk tale in an attempt to achieve great success again, but, despite the great and ambitious technical quality, the film received a very cold response upon release; such was its disappointing initial gross and mixed critical reception that Sleeping Beauty was Disney's last fairy tale adaptation for the next thirty years (the Studio only returned to the genre long after Walt's death with the release of The Little Mermaid in 1989).
The film is graphically inspired by the Gothic miniatures of the book Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry, catapulting the viewer into a bucolic and medieval setting with a sharp and precise line.
A live action of the film was made in 2014: Maleficent with Angelina Jolie in the role of Maleficent and Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora, Sleeping Beauty.
France, 14th century. King Stephen and his consort, Queen Leah, welcome the birth of their first and only daughter, Princess Aurora.
Before Merryweather is able to give her blessing, a terrible and treacherous witch named Maleficent appears in a whirlwind of wind and, to take revenge for not having been invited, curses the princess, proclaiming that she will be truly beautiful and graceful, but that before sunset on his sixteenth birthday she will prick his finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die.
Princess Aurora, the female protagonist of the story, renamed Briar Rose by the fairies. She is animated by Marc Davis.
Prince Phillip. He is animated by Milt Kahl.
