He doesn’t bother hiding the cigarette. You’ve seen it, he knows you have, so he just holds it farther out.

“I promise I’ll be inside to see it, go in and tell Wayne I won’t be long.”

You don’t though. Opting to push through the door and sit with him on the porch steps.

“Hold on — you’ve got to-“ Eddie cringes, regretfully stumping out his last cigarette before the smell can reach your nose. “Go inside baby, it stinks out here.”

“I thought you said you were gonna quit?” You rest your chin on your palm and wrinkle your nose as the smell eventually wafts up. Gross. He sighs, running his hand over his eyes, before bringing them back up to run through his unruly hair.

“I’m tryna.” He mumbles.

“You’re doing so good.”

“No m’not.”

The insecurity in his tone surprises you. “That was your last one?”

“Yes.” He sighs.

“Wayne said he quit with those- those-“

“Nicotine patches, babe.” Eddie fills for you.

“Yeah, those.” You nod.

He nods back to you. “I’m gonna pick some up tomorrow.”

“You are?”

“Yes, now get up and go inside so I can air out.”

He really does feel guilty. He hadn’t meant for you to find him out here, and he truly is trying to quit.

“But I don’t wanna leave you out here,” You frown. “It’s cold.”

Cold is an understatement, he thinks, It’s freezing. “I’m not too cold.”

“Yes you are, you liar.” Your laugh freezes in the Indiana air. “You’re shaking like a fucking leaf, baby.”

“Am not.” He denies.

You laugh harder. He watches fondly as you compose yourself.

“I’ll be inside quickly.”

You pause, then sigh.

“You don’t need to air out, just go change your shirt and brush your teeth.”

He nods, watching you lift his hand and press a prolonged kiss to his knuckles.

“You’re doing so good.” You repeat.

“Thank you.” He lets you have it.

“Mhm,” You drop his hand. “Now do your uncle a favor and come watch this scene, he’s got it paused.”

His nose crinkles in embarrassment. “Be right there.”

I really hope Mizu and Taigen never end up together. I don't exactly dislike Taigen's character but I don't see him with Mizu. It would be so forced to me. "he bullied you in past and now likes you" trope is so shitty in my opinion. So overused, so boring, so cliche. It's doing nothing to me.

I don't see Mizu with Akemi either. As much as I want Mizu with a girl (mostly because I need a confirmation that she's indeed wlw), I don't think they're compatible. I don't see Mizu with anyone at this point. I don't think she needs a love interest. Not all characters need one, plus her past would make sense why she wouldn't want it.

Anyways, if Mizu does end up with Taigen I'll be very disappointed. I lied a little bit when I said I didn't dislike him, he is very annoying to me. He's not bad, just annoying, uninteresting and unfortunately very boring. He does nothing for me as a character.

They graduated over 10 years ago but they still attend every home football game, they go tailgating every Saturday on the campus, they own an unhinged amount of branded merchandise from that college, and they will forever hate their "rival" school and everyone who attended.

Is there a fandom word for a supporting character that is rarely if ever a topic for fandom but that you are absolutely obsessed with?

I'm not talking about a glup shitto. I mean a character that everyone knows about but who isn't really anyone's favorite character. Fics centered on them are rare and ones that actually explore them in an interesting way are even rarer. No one really kins them or draws them. No one brings them up outside of discussing other characters.

Yeah, whatever that is.

But then...

A piece of media comes out that heavily features that character... and people finally talk about them.... you are in heaven for a few short months... and then it goes back to how it was.

Oh, sure, maybe there will be more people who like that character now. Maybe there will be an uptick in fics that give you a small backlog to read. Maybe you'll even get a nice catalog of fanart that will fuel your imagination for a little while.

But no matter what; that character won't get as much attention as you think they deserve.

Anyway that's how I feel about Count Fanon-first-name-Yan Dooku.

Omg could you imagine how butthurt Ikaris would be when Lena tags along and Sersi has zero time/interest/longing for him? Like, she's too busy working with Lena exploring their rapidly evolving abilities, and she's leaning on Lena as she adjusts to her newfound leadership, and Ikaris is just there in the background watching with jealousy in his eyes?

And maybe Sprite gets a little disillusioned with him at that point because she can see how pathetic he kind of is? Because Sersi is coming into her own with Lena's support, and he is devolving into a sort of brooding yet petulant child, and so his shine is ebbing away little by little.

So maybe Sprite leaves with him during his crisis of faith, but ultimately turns on him when he starts harming her family? And maybe, just maybe, she helps protect Lena too.
