#kimiko and omi besties

Up to this point, I gathered a small list of XS friendships, which remind me of characters from other franchises. So far I compared:

Omi and Jack's friendship as something Tom and Jerry have going on. Sometimes I envision they switch to being like Lilo and Stitch to each other. There's also a slight resemblance in the way Omi tries to reform Jack to the way Steven Universe teaches Peridot about the wonders of Earth.

Jack and Vlad's duo as a mix of Megamind and Minion (Megamind) and Wendell and Wild.

Megan and Jack are like Dexter and Dee-Dee (but heights are reversed haha). Also in my au, they try to move towards the friendship Cedric the Sorcerer and little Sofia have. (Sofia the first). As for aesthetics, this lovely duo reminds me of Poppy and Branch (The trolls- dreamworks)

Kimiko and Raimundo give off slight Soul and Maka vibes (soul eater)

For Kimiko and Omi - I don't have the exact match but I do like the friendship between Enid and Ko (Ok ko let's be heroes) - there are some similarities so it's almost fine by me

Omi and Chase are so unique it's quite difficult to compare them to any other cartoon duo, however, the best pick would be Professor Venomous and KO (again Ok ko let's be heroes). In both shows, the adult person is very much interested in the potential of the kid and it turns out they have more in common. The trope of making the kid go to the dark side? Check. Mutual respect throughout the series? Check. Is the adult acting like a dad/is the dad for the little protagonist? CHECK. (for some reason, these parallels make me very happy)

Kimiko would definitely have the most amazing, most detailed Halloween costumes possible. She goes all-out.

Usually she has matching costumes with her bestie Keiko, and she's heartbroken that monk duties are preventing that this year.

But to cheer her up, Clay, Raimundo, Omi, and Dojo all did their best attempts at making costumes that match Kimiko's theme to surprise her. She says they look awful, but she says it through such a big cheesy grin that the guys know how ecstatic she is about it (except Omi, who Raimundo again has to explain the concept of "kidding" to)

Kim and Rai headcanons!!!!!!

I have so many feelings for these two it's crazy. They're so flirty with each other but I don't see them ever getting together. At most I see Clay being the bridge. Like "this is my boyfriend Clay, and his boyfriend Raimundo (and his boyfriend, Jack Spicer)"

Raimundo being the most supportive of Kimiko from the very beginning is so special to me. Also, I love this:

This is the best. Their early dynamic was so bratty and playful, and I love how it matured so much over the show. I think they have the closest (non-romantic) bond between all of the monks, honestly. The definition of BESTIES. Especially in Chronicles solely due to the fact that they're the ones who combine their attacks the most (I love when they do that). I think Kimiko would be the next to rise to Shoku rank after Raimundo, so it makes sense that their fighting style is super in sync, too. You need a LOT of skill to combine fire and wind attacks and NOT cause mass destruction. Luckily, they are very skilled.

Chronicles, for all the harm it's done to my blood pressure, did confirm that Rai and Kim are HUGE NERDS and Trekkies, so I like to think they bond over sci-fi and both got Clay into the genre as well. Now Clay is even more interested in space than they are, specifically Gundam (and I hc those action figures we see him playing with in XS to be just that) and the mechanics behind space ships and whatnot.

I could see them all going to a convention together in cosplay (Omi, too, even if he doesn't get most of the references or... much of anything pop-culture related).

The Jack comic??? From 10 years ago??? I couldn't tell you the plot of that for the life of me, if it even had one to begin with. It was sorta just angst without plot for the sake of angst!

What are your headcanons for Omi, Clay, and Raimundo in reference to MW? If you don't get the chance to fit everything into your story, would you consider writing one-shots to go along with it? What was your inspiration for writing MW, aside from wanting a Jack Spicer redemption? What's your writing process? How long have you been writing? Are there other fandoms you're into besides XS?

This is going to get LONG and I don’t want to split it up because internet is bad here so apologies In advance but here we go:

What are your headcanons for Omi, Clay, and Raimundo in reference to MW?

I’ll start writing them and posting them as soon as I finish answering this one. It might take a bit, but you’ll see them up in a few hours or so.

Believe it or not those headcanons help me a lot when it comes to figuring out characters. So thanks for asking! I appreciate it.

If you don't get the chance to fit everything into your story, would you consider writing one-shots to go along with it?

Hell. Yes.

There is SO much I want to do. I want to write about how each Dragon found their element. I want to write ALL OF THE SHIP FUEL for Jack x Jermaine x Timber. I want to write about them having little mini episodic breather adventures in lots of different countries and cities, I’m talking Mumbai, St Petersburg, Venice, Paris, Capetown, Aguascalientes, Melbourne, everywhere! And maybe run ins with villains, for no reason. I want to write about them teaching each other about their strengths, like Jack explaining science to Jermaine and Timber or Timber teaching them two city boys how to fish and forage for food.

Also more moments of Jermaine reigning these two natural disasters in and teaching them how to be actual people. Because that’s always fun.

I want to write little moments between characters in Team Xiaolin during their quest to track down Team Spicer and I want to write moments between Seon Yeong, Rai and Kim as a trio. I want to write post-MW! Fics between characters and how they learn and grow after the events of the story - especially Kimiko and Timber as total opposites and the only two girls on the team. And I really want to write a ‘beach episode’ where Jack, Jermaine and Timber just end up warping to a tropical area and just have fun for once.

I want to write solo fics about Jack and Jermaine and their personal struggles as they grow up with their own troubles prior to MW!

And a part of me really, really wants to start posting a mini fic about Timber’s life in Silent Harbor, to show her slow, sad descent into the troubled teen she has now become and as a build up to the events of Chapter 6 of MW! where she runs into Jack for the first time. It would be SO spoiler-y though.

There’s a lot that might not fit in MW! And I would definitely write a bunch of mini stories. I don’t know who would be interested in reading all of that, but I might do it just to brainstorm ideas and explore character interactions.

What was your inspiration for writing MW, aside from wanting a Jack Spicer redemption?

I’ve been wanting to tell a XS story since I was a kid! This show was my everything! The characters were my everything. And even now it holds a special place in my heart. So the drive to write something for this fandom has always been there.

As for MW! itself....I’ve always had a fondness for Jack Spicer. I’ve always wanted him to find some semblance of happiness and have someone there so he’s not alone. And a long time ago, that someone became Timber.

But Timber wasn’t who she is today. She was Latina, and Californian, and a bubbly pink ray of sunshine and positivity. And Jack had a crush on her and she was his bestie and she was essentially an overly competent sidekick for him and then Clay had a crush on her and she was the Dragon Of Wood and Jack was the Dragon Of Metal and he was going to sell his soul to the Heylin side to finally earn Chase’s approval and she was gonna save him from himself...well, you get the picture. And I liked her a lot, and I still miss that version of her sometimes, but...she wasn’t interesting enough. And there wasn’t really a story there. At least not much of one. What was there could have been interesting on its own, but it was pretty self indulgent and I don’t think anyone besides me would have enjoyed reading it. And that’s no fun.

Then I had the idea to somehow bind Timber, an innocent civilian girl, to Jack through magic by having her make the idiotic mistake of betting herself in a Showdown with him over a Wu that was hers and then lose, and then essentially being dragged along on all of his adventures and slowly becoming friends with him while hilarity ensues. Then I had the idea to make a game breaking Wu that just...caused trouble. And the story then became about Jack accidentally dragging a civilian girl along on a warpy portally adventure with that Wu and run into all these villains as they become friends.

But when I did this, it didn’t feel balanced. I had someone on the Heylin side and I had someone who was Neutral. So then I needed someone as a buffer between Jack and Timber so they didn’t kill each other and to represent the side of Good aka someone who was Xiaolin.

And then Jermaine came along!

And as I developed the story more, I realized I wanted to tell something serious, and have all the characters grow and play off of each other and talk about the XS universe and answer questions and give everyone this big, long journey and great trial and give Jack actual character development and actual friends/love interests and have someone from Chinese Mythology be the Xiaolin’s ultimate adversary and Jack’s final test of character. And along the way, MW! was born.

And I’m really grateful for that.

What's your writing process?

Usually first I write up a few ideas of what I want to happen, like the general flow of the chapter. Then I make a chronological skeleton of dialogue, and I tweak it until I’m satisfied. Then I write the rest of the stuff like actions and descriptions.

One of my flaws is being redundant. Another is being overly wordy. So after I write it all out, I try to trim it down and tweak it as best as I can until these flaws are no more (I sometimes skip stuff) and then I just play around with the chapter until it feels right. It has to strike an emotional chord with me and get me excited to write it before I publish it. If I don’t feel that spark, it doesn’t go up.

I had a few people in the fandom volunteer to be beta readers, but my chapters are so long...so right now it’s just a couple of my closest friends who are looking at it, the main one being my friend CVD, who also wants to be a writer. She’s got a good eye for what does and doesn’t belong and I’m forever thankful. My other two, Trinket and Papillion, look over it and help let me know how they feel about things so they’re also a big help. So shoutout to you guys!

And then after all that noise, my stuff goes up.

However, my older chapters could use one final spellcheck and revision so I’ll eventually go back and polish those up a bit. Typos man. Typos....

A lot of times I’ll also take breaks to do some research and find inspiration music. Honestly there are days where I can’t figure a character or a scene out until I find JUST the right song for inspiration. And since a lot of characters in my fic are from a different country and cultural background than mine, I’ll do plenty of research to try to stay true to who they are. I’m doing a lot of research on the Bedouin tribe and its history and looking for a lot of pretty Middle Eastern music right now, for example. YouTube is a great resource for these things! How long have you been writing?

Since forever! I’ve always been making up stories in my head! And they’d get elaborate too! I’ve built so many worlds and characters just by playing around as a little kid, I can’t even begin where to start talking about them all. As I grew, I started to write them down and now I want to get serious about it! Besides Monkey Wrench!, I want to write a fanfic for the Ducktales 2017 fandom and the Black Butler fandom, and I have two original novel ideas I want to write out and get published. It’s my dream to make stories that other people love and that inspire others to learn, write, make stuff and have adventures and stuff. Literally my dream is to make stories that get a buttload Of fanart and cosplays and fanfic and just...move the world for the better somehow. That is my highest goal rn. Being a published and famous author.

Are there other fandoms you're into besides XS?

Hell yeah! Although I do tend to have periods where I hyper fixate on one at a time. Besides Xiaolin Showdown, I also like Gravity Falls, Storm Hawks, Steven Universe, Star vs The Forces Of Evil, and Ducktales 2017. There were a lot more in the past, such as Teen Titans, King Falls AM, The Boondocks, and Samurai Champloo, but I haven’t been very active in those fandoms as of late.

I really need to get into Tangled: The Series, OK KO, Victor and Valentino, and Craig Of the Creek. They all look phenomenal, I just don’t have time to get into them all yet.

So adorbs! Especially these! The initial bad guy team and good guy team both have framed group shots (featuring one grump to boot!)!

Which other groups do you wish had their own framed photos that we got to see too?

I would have liked to see a photograph from:

Jack's Army of Evil (They even all have matching jackets! And Ashley, Vlad, Tubbimura, and Jack would love to take a photo, they know they look good. Cyclops would probably mess up and photobomb the whole affair, but that's what would give it extra character!)

The Black Vipers (Jesse and her girls posed all together for a classic old Western WANTED poster shot would be so cool!)

Dashi and Chase and Guan and Dojo (There are pictures of Dashi in the scrolls, so they had a way of making pictures back then! Granted, I feel like Guan and Chase might have burned any group photos of them and records of their time together already...)

Chase and Omi (So many possibilities for how they could stage it!)

Kimiko and Keiko (Just give me a scene of Kimiko forlornly looking back at a cute selfie of her and her bestie when she's feeling lost or lonely!)

Do you think Omi keeps Leafy around as a pet after that episode? I miss the little guy.

Well, I wish!!! But Master Fung, the typical party popper, would say the leaf guy has its own place in his bedroom. He would also claim magical entities aren't pets yada yada.

Fortunately, Rai says out loud: 'then why are we keeping Dojo?' Dojo then starts correcting Rai while Clay and Kimiko give more arguments about why Omi should keep Leafy. Master Fung partially gives in to their reasoning. He agrees to a compromise! Monks can 'play' with Leafy 2 times a week.

Omi is overjoyed. He can't wait for 'Leafy's visiting hours'. He brags about the possibility to hang out with Leafy the whole week! Sometime later, Kimiko comes up with a great idea. She asks her dad to send her old dollhouse. She suggests it can be Leafy's home for weekends! Omi is even more excited. Eventually, Leafy and Shimo Staff share this little housing facility. (Usually Leafy is Shimo's blanket, ain't that cute?)

So, yeah. In that circumstances even Fung's authority is powerless. He just lets Leafy be with their bestie Shimo, lol

Do you have any Keiko headcanons? (Kimiko's BFF that she texted sometimes)

Since all we know about Keiko is from her phone calls with Kimiko in season 1, her character is almost non-existent in the show. Well, for one it's a plus because we can build her character from scratch and I'm about to do it, thanks for the request!

For starters, let's analyze moments in which Kimiko actually talks to her.

Episode 1: It seems as if Kimiko and Keiko are inseparable. The moment Kimiko noticed she can't continue their call, she assured Keiko she'll email her. Although a scene later Kimiko is on the phone again, filling her bestie with anything she's witnessing the first day at the temple. For example, Kimiko shares with her Raimundo's prank on Omi.

Yet another mention of Keiko takes place in the Texas episode (s01e10). Kimiko has just lassoed a cow, and, full of pride in committing such a feat, immediately calls Keiko. Unfortunately due to the cow pulling her, Kimiko loses her phone. I presume girls' bond is so strong they have to inform each other of their respective achievements, even if these are mundane things such as finding a cool color of nail polish or buying new clothes etc. This time, it was an exception because that surely was kinda impressive on Kimiko's end that her help comes to fruition!

But enough of that. From these two instances we can draw the following conclusions:

Keiko is a good, PATIENT listener

she's very excited whenever Kimiko is ready to share with her the gossip

she's up for a good laugh and I suppose they have a similar type of humor (because in any other case Kimiko wouldn't tell her that Omi was the victim of a prank, right? Probably Keiko giggled too)

Keiko exchanges with Kimiko a lot of e-mails, texts, and phone calls every day. I bet when Kimiko is done with her training, in the evenings she and Keiko are up for the video chat (so that's my headcanon no1)

Now we're entering that area, which is mostly my guesses or headcanons I enforced on Keiko (as I said there is so little known about her someone's gotta come up with something!)

Keiko and Kimiko know each other since childhood.

in kindergarten, they knew each other - sure, but it wasn't friendship yet

However, that changed right after Kimiko's incident. Remember Kimiko's greatest fear? A half-burned doll? Well, she accidentally activated her fire powers for the first time and unfortunately, it was in public. Just imagine - kids freaking out, crying and running to their moms and poor Kimiko who was just as frightened as the other witnesses. The worst thing is that her classmates started bullying her because of that. This is when Keiko steps in.

Keiko was the only one, who didn't reject her. She started hanging out with our Kimiko more, to the point they were seen together on every school break. Kimiko was so happy that despite what happened to her, she can invite someone over.

Keiko was Kimiko's only friend in elementary school. She was usually a calm kid, but there was something rebellious about her. Well, it came to good use when someone dared to call Kimi 'a freak' She always was ready to protect Kimiko for that particular reason - Kimiko didn't have the courage to defend herself, so Keiko started teaching her how to deal with the oppressors. Just punch them, even if it means the adults would punish you for that.

As a result, Keiko would land at the principal's office sometimes. 'Why did you punch Kenzo, young lady?' 'Because he deserved it!' - Keiko's best trait was her bravery and straightforwardness.

So, it is not a surprise Kimiko started admiring her. She noticed that compared to her, she was too shy and quiet. Just like a candle's flame, which is about to snuff out. She wanted to be acknowledged by her peers and with Keiko's help, she was finally able to assert herself.

What I'm trying to say, if it weren't for Keiko, Kimiko wouldn't be such a badass in the series. Keiko helped her grow into that awesome young lady we know and love <3

2. Keiko is into fashion!

and by 'she likes fashion' I actually mean she's mad keen on fashion

Kimiko's cool wardrobe and iconic outfits every episode? It's all Keiko's influence!

Kimiko's interest in fashion has awakened thanks to Keiko. One day Keiko suggested it could help with her anxieties. It worked. Not only did it build Kimiko's confidence, but also it made her more satisfied with her overall appearance.

girls' dressing up pajama parties. They include talking about boys/crushes, painting nails (Keiko is an expert), and sorting through fashion magazines for inspiration! And of course, trying out new clothes bought this week! And discussing which accessories would match the most.

Keiko is that type of friend, who tries to cheer you up in the most unusual ways. She says 'I know a place' and some time later you two end up in front of a big mall. She hotheadedly believes shopping could kill any sadness.

she's pretty good at designing clothes and coming up with outfit ideas. She's reconsidering a job as a fashion designer

that's why she's learning how to sew, knit, and everything (besides, that awareness her bestie is learning the hard way how to be a monk warrior made Keiko kinda desperate to start achieving her dreams too)

At school, she is often reprimanded because she violates the dress code, like... EVERYDAY. She thinks this kind of policy kills off the student's individuality.

3. Keiko usually puts a blame on herself in order to save Kimiko from trouble or she basically covers for her.

when Kimiko had her 'screw the rules' phase, in which she also decided to wear whatever she liked instead of the school uniform, Keiko would always put the teachers' focus on herself to buy Kimiko more time to dress in uniform in girls' toilet.

There is a whole elaborate operation on how to exit the school safely in 'normal clothes' without worrying someone would rat them out

Every time someone new recognizes Kimiko for her surname, Keiko chimes in and says that person they got it wrong and Kimiko is not the daughter of that famous games guy. Keiko is just a lifesaver, ok? She knows Kimiko would never want to start off a friendship in which others care more about her money/status. Keiko is just helping to get rid of jerks, that's all. Once they hear Kimiko is not THAT TOHOMIKO they quickly lose interest.

4. Speaking of Toshiro, he finds the girl an amazing friend and loves to have her around. To her objection, he gives her something extra as a gift.

'Yo, Kimi your dad gave me the 4th mp3 player this month tell him to stop'. 'Bold of you to assume I can control my dad's actions when it comes to you'

but Tamagotchi's are cool. That kind of gift is most appreciated

When Toshiro asks her to test some toys or games, she's eager whether Kimiko's around or not.

Keiko would sometimes express a slight irritation when Kimiko buys her something more expensive for her b-day. Thank god Kimiko is good at making her bff come round to some things.

5. Keiko comes from a mixed background. In fact, she's half Japanese and half American. Hence, her broad knowledge of the American latest fashion trends.

oh and she teaches Kimiko English! (She encourages Kimiko to cheat on their English tests lol, but Kimiko often criticizes that idea) For Kimiko more talking practice is a way better method of learning the language rather than the English lessons they have at school.

Keiko shares with Kimiko American brands of clothes, cosmetics, and accessories. It's easy for her to order such products because of her parents' connections

It turned out rather long. The only thing I would like to add to this list of headcanons is how I picture Keiko.

There are two of these AI generated pics, although I prefer the 2nd one more. I see her as a girl with a darker skin tone than Kimiko (although she claims Kimi is the beautiful one of their duo. She would sometimes tell Kimiko she's so jealous of how pretty she is), with short-ish, messy hair. She's got brown eyes. Oh and she dyes her hair quite a lot. Her natural hair color is dark brown but in order to look original, she opts for more vibrant colors. One month her hair is green, the next one- blue, blond anything she feels like it. Man, that girl's hairstyle modifications have a long history! However, Keiko's favorite hue is a mix of purple, red and pink. One time she cosplayed Megurine Luka and she had pink hair for a year (that's an impressive amount of time taking into consideration she prefers changing her hair color every month). She has to wear dangling earrings every day. If she forgets her earrings - it's almost the end of the world for her. Most of her earrings have a butterfly or flower theme.

So, yeah Kimiko adapted more or less Keiko's style, but she said from the start she doesn't want to dye her hair. So, Keiko bought her the first wig and this is how Kimiko gained her collection of wigs from the series! Keiko herself owns a couple of wigs too, for herself to wear and for fashion projects, she's working on.

Didya know that today, February 2nd, is TwinTail Day? Would you give us a headcanon relating to Kimiko's twintails pls?

Ok, maybe that's ultra late but OMG I didn't know such a holiday exists!

I googled it and it appears it became popular thanks to Sailor Moon (well, the trend of such a hairstyle originated from many other animes too but I'm mentioning these series for a reason)

Headcanon 1

What if Kimiko was a Sailor Moon fan? And she would watch it with Keiko?? And then they would comb each other's hair?

Headcanon 2

That's a tradition the girls practice each year. Even Mr Toshiro isn't safe from pink ribbons lol

Headcanon 3

This one is less canon-ish because I wanted to include my interpretation of Seiko here too. (She's the character from chronicles and she's also a friend of Kimiko and Keiko although she joined their group quite late). In my mind, she would give off more tomboish Vibe and hence, she's not fond of the holiday. But girls are persistent and try to make two ponytails of her short hair anyway. Seiko secretely likes IT but keeps on telling them next year she won't take part in such a toomfoolery. (She's lying)

Headcanon 3

Because Kimiko is a Monk now, she can't be at home as often as she used to. When the TwinTail Day comes, she's upset she can't spend the holiday with her besties. Dojo and the boys Ask her what's wrong and their immediate solution is: YOU CAN DO OUR HAIR. (I love some wholesome Clay and Rai with Tiny ponytails bc their hair is too short tgtv) Omi joins too! He brings one of Kimiko's wigs and tells Kimiko she can do some braids! Kimiko is no longer sad and everyone's having a blast. At the end of the day Kimiko sees Seiko and Keiko sent her a selfie so Kimiko replies back. She sends them silly photos of boys and their attempts to make twintails on Kimiko's hair.

That's my ideas regarding this japanese celebration and thank you for the Ask!

Speaking of xs characters who never met but would get along, I think Keiko, Jermaine, and Jesse would get along as the non-magical best friends of one of the dragons at the Xiaolin temple. They're admittedly all in different corners of the world, but with the magic of highspeed Dojo, they could all meet! I think they should form a groupchat and talk about their bestie's latest adventures.

That's a very cool concept, anon! They're literally from different worlds: they have almost opposing personalities and they're from different cultures, but as we know Keiko, Jermaine, and Jesse are all good kids, open to new opportunities. Well, maybe Jesse could be the meanest of the trio, serving sarcastic comments from time to time but overall, I agree! They could hit it off even if their beginnings could turn out rather awkward (mostly because of Jesse's strong sense of individuality and 'I do whatever I want so don't tell me what to do' principle).

I think it would be very enlighting for all of them to learn about each other's cultures. I already have the same headcanon for the main cast anyway, but since anon suggested such an interesting trio, I presume they would talk for hours about their hometowns and little adventures from childhood.

I'm also digging the idea of them keeping in touch. I think Keiko would be the first to suggest exchanging phone numbers. If Jesse doesn't have a cell phone - no problem Keiko carries at least 3 mobiles in her purse. Daaw~ besties already are giving gifts to each other, how sweet. What I'm also trying to get at - Clay half-jokingly could accuse Keiko she has his lil sis' phone number while he doesn't xD

Additionally, I imagine Keiko would not care about time zones, haha. At the beginning, she would call both Jermaine and Jesse at night. But don't worry, once they explained the issue to her, Keiko switched to sending text messages so they could read them in more appropriate hours.

As for what kind of conversations from the group chat, oh my, anon is totally right. Keiko would gush about Seiko's silly antics (and about Kimiko too so Jermaine would know about her a little bit more), Jesse - about her gang (she would send photos of Belle repairing girls' bikes) and Jermaine would go full Chase Young mode and keep on telling the girls how much he appreciates his homie Omi. Well, I can see Jermaine also trying to convince girls to be more interested in sports so they could play basketball together one day! And and and he's sending them photos of his pals from basketball training or his favourite spots in NY! The same goes with Keiko tbh. She can send a whole insta-story to them about places she's been throughout the whole day. Jesse finds the notifications annoying but deep down she can't help but enjoy whatever her new pals share with her.

Oh, and to finish the post on a funny note, please consider Jesse telling the other two embarrassing stories about Clay (and Patrick if you accept that aspect of XC). Jermaine and Keiko now have some juicy info, haha. Fortunately for Clay, they won't let these secrets spread further. But it has to be admitted Keiko faces some... difficulties in keeping her gossiping mouth shut, haha. It's a nice lesson in patience and confidentiality for her, tho!

Thank you for salvaging Seiko's character. Definitely did not like that one scene in Chronicles with her (or most of xc in gen), but the idea of the real Seiko being a third member of a trio and still being a huge nerd about swords is cute. Makes me wish for an episode where a Shen Gong Wu is in Japan and the girls get to reunite and meet the monks.

Right!? That part with 'stealing the boyfriend' was really unnecessary (just like repeating the same thing that happened in xs in the shadow of fear episode but with different fears. Why did they make the squirrel a ninja? the design of furious squirrel from xs was better. what was the reason for changing clay's grandma's design?)

Kimiko's fear in XS was more authentic. Idk what that scene in the chronicles was supposed to achieve. Did the show want to show us Kimiko at some point snaked someone else's boyfriend? Was that really necessary to discredit her this way? Or maybe it was just really the misunderstanding, Seiko got it wrong and started hating Kimiko for that and hence, Kimiko can't forgive herself for this happening? If the latter one, then maybe OK, some angst fuel if we really consider they are ex-friends. However, Seiko-gal has big anger issues, which is off-putting.

So, it really means much to me that 'Seiko is one of Kimiko's besties' scenario is commended! As much as I hated the appearance of Chronicles!Seiko, well I could see a little potential? Coz, yo, a lady who can professionally swing the sword!? Seiko in my eyes gave off big Katana vibes (especially if we take into consideration Katana's design in Batman The Brave And The Bold). I hc Seiko's fascination with Japanese weaponry is due to her father's job - he's a museum guard, but he owns his own katanas, which have been passed down to him. Little Seiko loved her father's stories about their samurai ancestors, so she wanted to become one, hence her training!

As for the Japan episode - anon, I couldn't agree more! Keiko would hug the hell outta Omi. Seiko, contrary to Keiko, was never up to conversation - she's very reserved, so when Raimundo tries to start a conversation, he immediately regrets that choice xD

I don't know why this idea came to me, but it would be cool if this time the main villain would be Tubbimura. Instead of the magical showdown, the episode would end with 'regular showdown' between Seiko and Tubbimura. Samurai girl vs ninja. It's not even about winning the wu anymore. It's about honor! The episode would build up with Tubbimura taking interest in Seiko's agility and swordsmanship only to reach a climax in which both Seiko and Tubbimura want to fight in order to test each other abilities. Dojo would 'boo' that solution, claiming regular showdowns are boring. But he shuts up immediately he feels Seiko's cold gaze upon him.

I want Seiko to win because that would result in mutual respect between the two warriors ok? For the comedic effect I would want the episode to end with Kimiko and Keiko finding out Seiko and Tubbi are pen-pals now haha

Kimiko: Hey I've seen you accepted Tubbimura's friend request. Can I know... why?

Seiko: Oh, we're friends now.

Keiko, who snorted out the soda she was drinking through the nose: !!!!!!!!!!!

Kimiko, visibly shocked: Erm... That's good, I think???????? But what do you usually talk about???

Seiko, pokerface on her face: ABOUT THE PASSION FOR THE CRAFT. ... And sometimes about healthy diets and his dog. I don't like pets in general, but Muffinface is precious and I would protect them from any harm.

Kimiko, confused but supportive: yeah, the doggy is sweet!

Keiko, trying to clean herself up: !!!!!!!???? Girl, you crazy?!

Seiko, blatantly: So, you want the evidence in a form of 32 photos of that dog!? Sure, I can provide fight me.

Imagine Kimiko wanting to make a gift for Seiko, and since Kimiko's done so much training with her mastery of fire, she can finally do something she's wanted to do ever since she and Seiko first met and make her very own sword for Seiko~

It'd definitely take a lot of effort, since just the first step in making a katana is maintaining a 1000 Celsius fire for over 75 hours to smelt the steel, but Clay could help with the hammering and folding of the hot metal while Kimiko maintains the heat and handles the hottest materials and Clay can help with the coating process too, and Omi helps with the parts where the blade has to be pulled straight from the fire into cold water to quench it and create that signature curve.

Wow! 😲 I would never consider such a possibility! Thank you for sharing that, anon! Well, of course, I had in mind Keiko and Kimiko BUYING a sword for their bestie, but your idea is much much better.

For one, Kimiko alone would be too afraid to do that because 1. her knowledge of carving a sword is limited

2. 'what if the sword turns out to be of bad quality? I won't give her something that would be destroyed on the first try! Keiko, give me some ideas, quick.'

Keiko: 'Girl, the pressure's killing me!!! give me a break! The only thing I've thought through is that our names should be engraved on the blade'

Kimiko: 'That's a great idea but still, we lack both resources and skills to make that sword.'

Keiko: 'Lol can't we like... order it online?'

Kimiko: '...'

Keiko: 'Ok, sorry.'

And then, anon's idea comes to life. Raimundo suggests all the boys should help. And because he's a leader and he is more knowledgeable in that area, he supervises the whole process. Each person has their own task to fulfill.

and last but not least, Raimundo, who has perfected the art of carving letters into wood and metal materials with his wind powers, engraves Keiko, Kimiko, and Seiko's names longwise the mune (back of the katana)

oh and Seiko's dad with Master Fung and Guan were also involved. The kids were supposed to create a blade. Seiko's dad gave instructions to Fung and Guan on how to make TSUKA (handle)

Seiko's dad said there is no need for monks to make a sheath because he would like to pass down to her such a sheath that once belonged to their samurai ancestors.

As a result, Seiko gets a gift that is both made from scratch (katana sword), and OLD (even borrowed from her greatx1000 granddad). I'm talking about the sheath, which is old but restored for reuse.

Keiko, feeling left out because she's the only non-bender so to say, kept on complaining to both Dojo and Kimiko: 'I feel so useless! What am I supposed to do? Buy her socks!? That's so lame compared to what you've just created!'

Dojo: Find a nice box and wrap it up with paper. Don't forget a nice, big gift bow on top!

Keiko, piercing Dojo with an angry stare: You're not helping.

Clay: But dragon fella is right! The box is as essential as a gift! Without it, there would be no surprise!

Keiko: (sigh) Maybe you're right... Maybe I could customize the paper? Oh! I know! Kimiko! Let's print our childhood drawings and we can use them as wrapping paper!

Kimiko: haha, that's my bursting out with energy Keiko I know!

Keiko: Oh my gosh. I have to tell the company to start the production RIGHT NOW! Let me make some calls.

Raimundo: But socks are not a bad idea either. Go for it too.

Keiko: Socks with tiny samurai warriors?

Kimiko, nodding: That's a must!

Seiko is not an emotional girl, but seeing such a group of friends, who put their time, effort, and hearts into such a wonderful gift made her shed a tear.

Later Keiko would report to Seiko who was responsible for what (she's the gossip girl ok) and express her worries she didn't do enough. Seiko would deadpan rise her katana, saying:

Seiko: THIS. This is to warm my fighting spirit.

She then places the katana back into the sheath and picks up soft grey winter socks, on which there are samurai cats holding their weapons high. She approaches Keiko and looks her straight into her eyes.

Seiko: And these are to warm my feet and heart.

Keiko, tearing up concluded that it is so silly to say out loud but ultimately she launches to hug her. Kimiko leaves the boys for a moment to join her childhood friends in the group hug.

'So this is where girls get their strength from!' - Omi admits before taking another bite of the birthday cake.
