My 2025 goal is to love myself more. And cosplay more 🤗 I need to beat the crap outta my low self esteem, social anxiety, and body dysmorphia. I never like how I look especially when dressing up as my fave characters. 😮💨 next year, I will do better and overcome these personal hangups.

What makes a good yandere character for you? What are some of your favorite yanderes? And what are some that you like the least?
Aaa my first ask! Thank you so much!! Yes, as you can tell from my username, I do like yandere characters quite a bit! And I'm super excited to finally start ranting about them lollll Alright, this might get pretty long so I'll put my answers under the cut!
What makes a good yandere character for you?
This is a very subjective question, but first I'll explain what makes a character yandere.
"Yandere" comes from the Japanese verb 病んでいる which means to be sick. This can refer to any sort of illness, but with yandere characters, it's referring to ailments of the soul so to say. Basically a "yandere" character is anyone who becomes sick with love. Which is really vague, I know - but that's how it is.
A character can kill for love and still not be considered yandere. A different character can respect their target's (the person they are affectionate toward - their "darling") free-will and autonomy and still be considered yandere. It's vague and open to interpretation. What one person considers yandere, another might find them just being possessive.
Just getting a few common misconceptions out of the way first:
-Yandere characters can be abusive to their targets, but just because a character is abusive, that doesn't mean that they're yandere
-A character doesn't have to go around killing people to be considered yandere
Okay, with that out of the way, time to talk about my favorite kinds of yandere characters!
I like characters who are subtly manipulative, the characters that mess with their target's perceptions of reality to mold them into someone who can accept their isolation. I like to describe the buildup as "walking into a spider's web, and only after you think to turn around do you realize that it's too late." These characters can appear to be very doting (溺愛) to their targets and lull them into a false sense of security, and usually only show their true selves to people they see as their love rivals. These characters can also be commonly described as haraguro (腹黒) or scheming.
But I can go for any sort of yandere character! I'm not so good with gore tho so I try to avoid that, but any other type has their own appeals. There was this huge chart about the different types of yandere characters and their "symptoms" I found before, maybe I'll dig it up and explain it in detail in another post eventually. But for now I will move on to the next question!
What are some of your favorite yanderes?
I can explain a bit more about the kind of yandere characters I love by using some of my favs as examples! Please note that I read a lot of shoujo, especially because the yandere trope is gaining some good popularity in that demographic, so these are all male yanderes. Though, I do love me a good female yandere character too!
My absolute favorite yandere character is Haruma from 恋と心臓 (Love and Heart) Seriously, no one does it as well as him. I don't want to spoil anything since it's more fun to experience the craziness yourself and the series is available in English!
But to give a brief summary: Yoh (the main character), having lived a life where she didn't have anyone she could rely on, is incredibly independent. But then her childhood friend (who she doesn't remember), Haruma, moves in with her and suddenly she finds herself in the position of damsel in distress again and again, with Haruma being the only one to save her.
It's a great blend of psychological horror, romcom, and drama with a huge dose of unhealthy relationships and a happy ending! I recommend it to everyone who is comfy with the subject matter.
Kuroyuki from Nightshade deserves special mention for being the reason I started liking yandere characters in the first place.
I never really got the appeal before him, but when I played Nightshade, I liked him from the start. I tend to love comic relief characters (who are secretly quite sad/serious) so he caught my eye right away and then when the cray-cray hit, I was like,
Oh no, that's hot.
And it was over for me after that lol. Yandere love interests in otome games have a reputation for caging, and Kuroyuki has a subtle approach to this. He spins this (not entirely false) tale that everyone is trying to kill Enju (the main character) except for him, and that he's the only one who could protect her. I won't go into his backstory, but an unhealthy amount of delusions feed into his obsession as well.
The game is fun and intense, and I highly recommend it if you would like to cry. Check out my Why you should play Nightshade PowerPoint here:
If you're looking for other good otome games with fun yandere characters, I also recommend: Amnesia: Memories, Taisho x Alice, and Mystic Messenger.
After Kuroyuki, I started reading a lot of Japanese webnovels with yandere characters (I literally have a page in my browser with just the yandere tag on shousetsuka ni narou that I browse thru regularly) I could probably do a whole post just about yandere characters in webnovels, but for a quick recommendation, I suggest checking out Kotoko-sensei's (琴子) works or, for something a bit more bizarre, check out Inaida-sensei's (稲井田そう) works. (I once went thru a phase where I was obsessed with all of Inaida-sensei's works around 2~3 years ago.)
Anyways, on to the final question!
What are some yanderes that you like the least?
Well, I tend to dislike the yandere characters that are not well thought out. It's easy enough to put a knife in a character's hand or make them shove someone in a cage, but it's not interesting unless they have a compelling reason why. What leads them to decide they have no other choice but to kill a rival (or their target) or take away their target's freedom?
This is why I tend to dislike side characters who are yandere (especially in harem series) because they're usually not given a whole lot of depth or character building - like a main character would have.
I think a lot of the appeal from yandere characters comes from their depth, complexity, and how they can be hypocritical by nature. I love them but I hate them because they care about other people. I don't want to scare them but I need to protect them. I don't care if they hate me as long as they stay by my side.
If I were to name a yandere character I dislike, though, I would have to say Yuno Gasai (from Future Diary) who is a rather famous case. I don't think she's a bad character - in fact, she's a really great character and a good example of what happens if obsession is left to fester in a high-stakes, dangerous environment. But her character has been boiled down to crazy anime girl who kills a bunch of people for her crush by the internet, which has completely changed the way many people view the word and perceive the trope of "yandere." I just find it irritating and as the self-proclaimed saleswoman of yandere, it makes my job a lot harder.
Can yandere be considered problematic? Sure, absolutely. But does it have to involve murder, rape, gore, or other triggering content? Absolutely not.
(This goes for this whole post, but please note that I am talking about fictional characters, and this in no way reflects real life people)
All in all, I'm very passionate about yandere characters and yandere content. I just find them so compelling, and especially love exploring relationships involving a yandere character - because it usually involves having to come to some sort of compromise. I could probably rant on and on and on about it but this answer is already so long lol
Thank you so much for the ask again! And anyone can feel free to send asks if they would like me to clarify on any of this! I do love ranting about these sorts of things

You know when you were hyping up a show in your mind and irl it's just not giving what you wanted it to give?
That's me with 4 minutes. I was waiting for that's how for soo long and definitely thought that would be my new brainrot series lol
I can't even say what it is exactly. Usually it's right up my alley but either I'm still just too hung up on love sea or it's cause my brain decided that some things regarding the show give me such a big ick that I can't concentrate on anything else but it's not giving how I want it to give.
I'll finish and I will rewatch in the hopes that it does click cause I wanna love it so so bad but today I'm in my sad fan girl feels🥹

This!!!!! Okay bear with me here as I rant for a little bit
I really think that V and Rika could have been a normal, functioning, healthy couple had they been given more time to heal and come to terms with their traumas before they met each other. (In fact, I do like the thought of them together in healthier circumstances, so I may be biased but I digress) But because they met each other when they did, they treated the other as a crutch to avoid the root of their issues. Which quickly led to obsession. Sure, V encouraged Rika to go to therapy, but he never sought it out himself or examined why it wasn't working for her.
He was pushing aside his issues (and hers, in a way) for the sake of taking care of her. He was obsessed, but that doesn't mean he wasn't in love with her. There was a part in V's route where Rika cries and says that no one ever loved her, but I would argue that nearly everyone who met her loves her in some way. The Rika she shows to the world is really easy to love, after all. So I don't think it's much of a stretch to say that V loved her at one point too.
That's part of why I have... mixed feelings about how he insists he never actually loved Rika. From an in-game perspective, I wonder if it was just his way of coping with his growing feelings towards MC, despite promising to always love Rika. V is a man plagued by his guilt - to the point of wanting to be the martyr - so maybe the only way he could accept letting go of Rika is if he insists on never having actually loved her in the first place.
From the perspective of Mystic Messenger being an otome game... I fear that Cheritz wanted to write away V's feelings to show that the player was the first time he felt "true" love. It's fairly common in otome games for the player to be the first and last love of each of the love interests, and MysMe is no exception. This way, since all he felt towards Rika was obsession, it's less that the player is "stealing V away" and more that "he's finding his true love."
Falling in love multiple times is normal. Falling out of love is also normal, especially if the object of your affection (or in this case, obsession) hurts you again and again and again. Sometimes it takes a while to find out what you really want in life and in a partner. Sure, it's fairly romantic to only fall in love once, but it's not very realistic. I like V's timeline because he's actually given the opportunity to fall in love multiple times, and given the time to learn who he is OUTSIDE of being with a partner. And that doesn't make his feelings towards MC any less valid. In fact, they make a lot more sense to me.
yknow, whenever V starts going on about how what he and Rika had wasn't love it was obsession, I'm like... why can't both be true? Does it have to be one or the other? They were definitely obsessed with each other--or really, the idealized versions of each other they had in their heads--but that doesn't mean there was no love. Love and obsession together aren't healthy, but they're not mutually exclusive either. Both their ways of loving were unhealthy and rooted in each of their traumas, but that doesn't mean it wasn't real, yknow?

sorry to say this 😗 but in order for me to worship you u HAVE to be the cuntiest driver on the paddock (eg: nico rosberg, max verstappen, oscar piastri, sebastian vettle, lewis hamilton, kimi raikkonen). that’s why for the longest time i didn’t get the charles hype because he used to be the perfect pr princess of the paddock but the “inchident” and “guess he wanted to do something spectacular” leclerc might just get him into my favorite drivers club.

First we had the rumors of Kimi Antonelli going to Williams, replacing Logan Sargeant as soon as Imola.
Quite frankly, this makes absolutely zero sense. How on Earth can the Cratchit’s of the F1 world right now afford the boy people are proclaiming is “the next Max Verstappen”? They couldn’t afford a spare chassis for the first five races let alone a whole driver swap.
Secondly, Williams failed Logan in bringing him up to F1 too early, that is a fact that I believe James himself has admitted (though don’t quote me on that). So say they do, hypothetically, bring Kimi up it would just show that they have learned absolutely nothing. It would have meant that Kimi would be doomed to fail.
Kimi is not ready. It’s as simple as that. He’s skipped F3, had three races in an F2 level car so is only just finding his feet. Never mind the fact he is only 17, a literal child. There are so many voices trying to put him down because he is not winning every race in F2 yet who totally forget these things. He has quite literally went from the baby pool with armbands only to have them taken off him and pushed in the deep end with the instructor saying “now swim!”.
I have every faith in him that maybe, come next season he might be ready for F1. Maybe in 2026. That’s ok too, he’s young, he has time. Putting him in the hardest car on the grid to drive is stupid.
Logan’s made mistakes yet, but he is again in a car which is extremely hard to drive. He deserves the second chance Williams claimed to have given him, I am yet to see that chance. I hope he will get a point at his home race just to throw it in Williams’ face.
So no, I don’t believe this rumor.

BIG SPOILERS FOR YOUR TURN TO DIE (MOST OF THE CHAPTERS!!!!)
//
kai satou!!!!
so like i don’t think he’s dead and here’s whyyyyyy!!!!!!
we know that in chapter two part two, sara and keiji both find a room connected to the pink room that’s assumed to be miley’s room
from what we learn about miley in chapter three, we can tell she was a scientific researcher (but of what science isn’t known, but we can assume it’s a physical science) so this room can be interpreted as her personal lab of sorts
now in that lab there’s another room that we can guess is reached by the locked door to the left of the computer. in this room there’s a window that we can see from and inside there’s a bed, a person, and an iv
a very interesting thing sara says which is something along the lines of “i doubt there can be any new survivors…” which implies that this person is someone we have already met, someone who has been injured enough to need an iv
now, it can’t be mishima, since his head fell off in front of everyone. and since his head hasn’t been found after nao took it, there’s no way that it could be him since there would also be no way to reattach the head (at this point in time, tia, rio, and miley, have all confirmed it being missing. as well as the meister supporting this in chapter three part one b)
mishima also isn’t a likely option due to the fact that his ai is a prominent character in both chapters two and three, this can imply that asunaro was already planning on him dying and didn’t see a point in attempting to save him
because if they already had the ai to manipulate nao why would they need the real deal? (nao even said it herself that speaking with the ai was just like speaking with the professor so it couldn't be because of personality changes like the fake reko)
it also can’t be joe because his execution was public and everyone saw it. we see his body go limp in the button minigame and with the amount of blood drained from him he must’ve died fairly quickly
…
(the tubes seems to be 0.65 the width of his arm which we can estimate to 13.8in all the way around because of the average for a guy his age we get around 8.97in wide for the tubes which is fairly wide and if you consider the length of the tubes by using the width of joe’s arm you get that it’s around 96.6in long or a bit over 8ft)
…
so by checking the amount of blood drained from his body, there’d be no way he’d survive, especially after the fact we can guess it takes up to a hour for the floor masters to retrieve a body from the location of death that he would’ve died of blood loss from his wounds before he could be taken by miley to her room
it also can’t be alice or reko for separate reasons. alice for one could not have survived that big of a blow and is seen dying directly in his cutscene. he also has no real use for being saved by asunaro. also it can’t be him because his body hasn’t been collected from the room of lies by the time that sara and keiji discover it
reko for the other hand dies from a knife wound to the chest (around the liver and heart area) and this implies the knife has some sharpness to it since it states when sara checks the body that “lots of blood has gushed out” this is important since this knife is also said to be the one kai commits suicide with. it also can’t be her for the same reason as alice, her body hasn’t been collected when sara and keiji find the room
the only other option is kai, this makes sense for many different reasons. for one, kai is the son of gashu, who works for asunaro and therefore he would get the bias of the employees (now it is stated a few moments later by miley that gashu is going to betray asunaro and to keep eyes out for him but this doesn’t mean that asunaro wouldn’t see kai as valuable due to his skills as an assassin)
another thing is the iv. ivs can be used for transferring blood into the bloodstream, this is a way to transfuse blood for those who’ve had severe blood loss. and that is how kai “dies”. from slitting his wrists and bleeding out.
though, we don’t see a scene of his death, unlike the other victims. also, although the knife used by him is sharper than it is in chapter two (this can be inferred because once you use a knife the blade dulls so we can guess the knife was new or barely used and lost its edge after the chapter’s end)
now, we also don’t know how many slices he made into his arm (but we do know that it was strictly on his arm since his neck and body are exposed and only his sleeves have blood on them) a possibility could that he only made one deep incision on his wrists since that is what’s most commonly done when one commits by slitting their wrists
there was no way he died in the short span between joe’s execution starting and joe dying because we can guess the amount of time passing from the start to finish is amount two and a half minutes and after from the time kai starts talking about three minutes pass
so the cuts would’ve had to have been extremely deep for him to die in five and a half minutes
it’s also very likely that the blood dried soon after he fainted which made him not lose as much blood as he would’ve if he had multiple cuts that were as deep as the first ones were.
there would be no real way for him to die in the short span he did, as the wounds would dry up almost immediately after he were to pass out (this couldn’t be possible with joe or reko since their wounds were much bigger and were in vital areas)
so that’s why i think the person in the iv room is kai
#all of this is just me theorizing and being silly#though i did try keeping it as likely as possible and tried to find reasonings#i always thought it was weird that he died so early and then never showed up again (even his death was weird) so#take this with a grain of salt#your turn to die#yttd#kimi ga shine#kai satou#kai yttd#reko yabusame#reko yttd#alice yabusame#alice yttd#joe tazuna#joe yttd#kazumi mishima#mishima yttd#miley yttd#theorizing#rant post#rant#rambles#sillypost#:3

Got rejected from a danmei zine again 🥲 I wont give up and keep trying when other zines open up! And this rejection doesn’t dictate my art skills, there are so many good artists in this fandom.
But I wont lie that it did shake up my confidence a little ahhhh. It’s annoying voice in my head, I must resist 😭😫 my art is worthy of being in this fandom, stop telling me otherwise, stupid brain

Okay, so, I'm freaking out cuz first Cheritz drops this gorgeous, gorgeous new title screen:
And everyone looks so beautiful, so gorgeous, all very smoochable (I'm especially going feral over Saeran and Jaehee, my favs)
And then on twitter Cheritz reveals that this Saeran is ACTUALLY Unknown/SE Saeran (?) (I say ? cuz everyone is alive and all in this wedding-themed party??)
I thought for sure this Saeran was GE Saeran since he looks so soft and happy here (the chibi expression especially reminds me of Ray/GE Saeran) but there is No Way GE Saeran would be wearing his outfit from the original timeline. His shoulder is covered up so we can't see if he has his tattoo, but I really don't think GE Saeran would subject himself to wearing a choker after he finally removed the chains from around his neck.
SO I'm just kinda freaking out cuz we've NEVER seen SE Saeran looking THIS soft. He's either shown as angry or sad or apathetic but HERE he's looking a little shy to he wearing these clothes (wonder if he's holding the flowers like that to hide his face a little. The way he's holding it specifically to cover his lips makes it look like he's keeping a secret) but he looks SO HAPPY.
Perhaps, given a small change to the events that play out in the Secret Endings, we would be able to see this soft-looking, shy, happy Saeran in the original timeline as well.
Now excuse me as I go scream over how gorgeous everyone looks and run to the store to buy materials for making a wedding dress.

I almost forgot but now watching the new knt episodes reminded me of how much I shipped ayane and kento and
*spoiler in case you didn't read the manga*
it's been 7 years and I'm still salty the mangaka made them break up and made her crushing on her teacher (wtf?) instead, just bc idiot fans were shipping her w him for some reason.
like, I love the teacher, he was hilarious and cool - but c'monnn. sometimes fanservice is just a bad idea.

i personally think a driver doesn’t always have to be rushed at a young age, suddenly being recruited from f2 to drive in f1 because they are “talented”.
because if it is just about talent then anyone who reaches the f2 level is talented to some degree. the important part is developing skill. as we know f1 cars are extremely fast when compared to f2. if a rookie is suddenly given a top team car it can very easily be overwhelming (unless u are lewis hamilton then u are an anomaly) but not everyone is lewis.
take oscar for instance, he’s the perfect example of a driver who was given sufficient time to complete each driving stage in which he could master his skills. at his age he drives extremely mature. why? BECAUSE HE WAS GIVEN TIME, where he got to built his own experience and skill.
generational talent are not made overnight, they take years.
