It’s a once in a while thing for the boys to be able to eat out together.

Challenges usually pose through schedule conflicts, one or the other being absent, and timing. They can never truly catch a break. So, when the first sign of a temporary alignment showed, they took the opportunity in a flash.

It was going to be their first dinner together in months, one of their off days.

Usually, the next challenge of indecisiveness would present itself. However, their youngest is quick to suggest a place.

Apparently, they had really good jjajangmyun.

(The boys didn’t know then, but it was because the faster they could decide where to eat, the faster he could go visit you.)

(They also didn’t know then that jjajangmyun was your favorite.)

A chorus of laughter echoes through the little corner store as they’re served their third plate of food. Jeongin didn’t lie about their food, and it was a safe enough space for them to celebrate the end of their latest comeback season.

“Seungmin, you’re getting really brave with your jokes about PD-nim.”

“I ran that contract renewal like the military.”

They spend the night joking, revisiting their past, and being hopeful for the future. A few grateful messages are exchanged after liquid courage is brought to their table. And while a simple night, the boys knew they’d remember this day for the rest of their lives.

There’s quiet pop music playing in the back—the kind you’d hear in the early 2000s. And Han Jisung orders another plate of jjajangmyun.

“Ayen, the food here is crazy good. How’d you find this place?”

Jeongin snaps out of his mental chant at the call of his name, fox-eyes trained on the older boy before the question reverberates in his mind. “My girlfriend recommended it.”

A pin drops.

Their youngest has a habit of lying, taken after his roommate, Seungmin. He usually does it with sneaky smiles and a few giggles. However, both signs indicative of lying are absent, and the boy has the audacity to refill his plate and keep eating as if he hadn’t just dropped a bomb on his members.

“Girlfriend?” Hyunjin is the first to speak, asking the boy to reiterate what he had just said, even though he heard. Loud and clear, in fact.

“Uhuh.” Jeongin replies through a mouthful of food. “What?”

He looks curiously around the table. His friends’ eyes are glazed, and he’d expected the conversation to be over three minutes ago, but it doesn’t.

Jeongin is in the middle of another bite when all hell breaks loose.

“Girlfriend?!” It’s said even louder now, more amplified, and Hwang Hyunjin stands from where he was previously seated in pure disbelief. All the while, their eldest is having an existential crisis. “Innie, what do you mean?”

He perks his head up, pursing his lips slightly and tilting his head. “What’s the big deal?”

“You have a girlfriend and you didn’t tell us?” It’s Han’s turn to be perplexed, and it’s humorous the way his features mimic the dramatic shock on Hyunjin’s.

Seungmin simply keeps eating.

“Yah, Kim Seungmin. Why aren’t you as surprised as us?”

“I already knew.”

“Seungmin knew, but not us?!”

“Not my fault he trusts me with dating advice.”

That boy definitely knows how to add fuel to fire. Chaos erupts as the younger half harass Seungmin for knowing before them.

“How long have you been dating?,” Minho asks.

“Just around 3 months now.”

If Chan was out of it then, you wouldn’t know how to describe his state now. Felix sits next to him to comfort the poor boy.

“My baby has been dating for 3 months, and I didn’t know anything.”

“Sorry.” Jeongin responds bashfully, scratching the back of his head. He knew his hyungs would act this way, which had led to his decision of keeping it hidden for a while. He thinks he should’ve just told them right away.

Though, he thought they’d known by now. He wasn’t exactly the most secretive about it, and he was sure he’d mentioned you before.

And although shocking to suddenly hear that their youngest (and their baby) had a girlfriend, they will not have his head for it. They know he’s responsible enough to know what not to do, and it was a little touching to know the boy had enough time to fit romance in his life.

“Show us what she looks like!”

The boys get a selfie of you that’s set as his lockscreen, and it’s enough proof to have the boys cooing at how adorable you two would be together.

“Motherfucker, she’s really pretty.” Changbin comments.

“I know.”

Meanwhile, Han and Hyunjin are making up fake scenarios in the corner, scrolling through photos and videos. Then a message.

While their youngest is distracted, Han quickly taps on the notification.

(8:30pm) ynie: miss u too!!!!

(8:31pm) innie: Wish you were here right now

(8:32pm) ynie: aren’t u celebrating with ur friends rnnn

(8:32pm) ynie: stop texting me and enjoy !!!

(8:33pm) innie: Call me later?

(8:36pm) ynie: after you spend time with ur friends let’s call

(8:37pm) innie: Wanna call now. Just for a second

(8:37pm) innie: Haven’t heard your voice in a while

(8:37pm) ynie: ok fine >:( give me like 10-15 mins

(8:51pm) ynie: i’ll call now

“Oh my god, she’s calling.”

That’s definitely enough to get Jeongin’s attention.

“Give me my phone back.” He reaches out to them, but Hyunjin is fast enough to swipe it.

“Answer it!” Changbin instigates.

Jeongin’s eyes widen in horror when he hears your voice go through his phone. “Innie? Oh—hello.”

You sound so shy, and Chan feels like he’s about to cry. “She calls him Innie.”

The youngest finally snatches his phone back when all Hyunjin could do was stare at you through the screen of his phone. You were real. Yang Jeongin actually has a girlfriend.

“Hi.” He mumbles, moving away from their table to talk to you privately. Though, before he does, he makes sure he leaves a threat to the boys not to follow him. “‘M sorry, did they scare you, baby?”

“It’s okay, I was just surprised.”

Jeongin visibly melts at the sound of your voice. “The boys know about us now.”

“I figured.” You laugh, and the service at the restaurant doesn’t do the warmth of your laughter any justice. He can’t wait to see you later.

“Can I see you later?”

“Mkay, but just… enjoy your time with the boys, okay? You told me it’s been a while since all of you were able to relax over a meal like this.”

“Fine.” He sighs, before a smile creeps on his face. “They liked your suggestion.”

“That’s good. Now go!” There’s a pout on his lips when you shoo him away. “Go have fun, go! I’m hanging up now. Love you!”

“Love you too.”

The wide, bright smile remains on his face even when he goes back to their table.

“Who has our Ayen smiling like that?”

“My girl.”

“Innie’s getting soft.” Minho teases.

Seungmin, on the other hand, fake vomits at his response, and another chorus of laughter bursts from their seats. The night continues through conversations over Jeongin’s sudden revelation, and the promise to let the boys meet you properly next time. He agrees if they promise not to scare you away.

And while he’d kept you a secret for a while, he can’t help but feel a tinge of happiness in his heart that the most important people in his life know about you now, are even eager to meet you. There is no better contentment than all of the people he loves aligning with one another.

The entire night, Jeongin itches in anticipation to hold you in his arms and hear your voice in person after his schedules had torn apart his much needed quality time with you. And when he asks to leave, they don’t need to know where he’s going.

One look at his face, and the only evident answer is you.

“i’ve never done this in front of such a crowd before… what if they don’t like me, min?”

“oh baby… they’ll love you, i promise. and if anything happens on stage, your members will be there to back you up, yeah?”

you give him a hug, he always knew how to calm you down in moments like these. you suppose it’s because of his own experiences, especially considering the amount of award shows he’s been at. 

“i love you, seungminnie…”

“i love you too, baby. now go! you don’t wanna miss your cue. i’ll be in the audience, i promise.”

you give him a quick kiss, shooting up from the seat to go meet your members. seungmin leaves too, sitting down at stray kids’ respective table.

“excited?”, jeongin asks from beside him.

“of course i am! i’m so proud of her…”

his eyes stay fixed on the stage, waiting for your performance to start. the lights dim, and he sits up straight. it’s time for your performance.

there’s no point in recording, he knows they’ll have a fancam. right now, he just wants to watch his baby shine. 

and you do. you look absolutely gorgeous on stage, the lights hitting you at the perfect angles. the track starts, and the crowd starts cheering.

so many people, just for five girls performing. the first song is a ballad, something slow to set the mood. it’s one of your favorite songs from the comeback.

though munhee wrote the song due to her own experiences, your voice carries the same amount of emotion hers does, and it makes the lyrics sound so much more authentic.

seungmin watches from the crowd, he truly thinks he might cry. the rest of the boys are in awe too, some members of gidle clasping their hands over their mouths in surprise.

everyone is used to you doing intricate dances with upbeat music, and they’ve truly never been able to appreciate your vocals.

then it hits the climax of the song, ending with a high note you must complete. as scared you are of heights, you know it’s inevitable. the platforms will go up, whether you like it or not.

its a small space that you have to maintain, but you try your best to focus on the song. and now, you have to sing.

you close your eyes, letting out your voice, and it sounds absolutely angelic. and then you open them again once you hear the low whirring of the platforms.

they all go up. 

except for yours.

nonetheless, you continue singing, determined to keep your professionalism throughout the entire bridge. and then the song ends. the platforms finally lower back down, and all of you wait for your cues to leave.

once you see it, you take a step.

you shouldn’t have.

all of a sudden, your platform shoots all the way up. eight feet in the air. before you have time to process, it wobbles side to side and you fall off.

thud.

seungmin stands up instantly, rushing to get backstage. he doesn’t care how many people hes pushed and shoved, but he needs to know that you’re okay.

and then a shrill scream fills the air, and his heart stops. it feels like your entire foot is about to fall off, the pressure from your fall crushing it under your weight.

he continues running as fast as he can, getting backstage before you can even blink. “baby? oh my god…”

you’re still crying from the pain, being set onto a stretcher for your leg. “it hurts…”

“i know baby… i know. you’ll be okay…”

they finally get you onto a comfortable bed, evaluating the damage to your ankle. luckily there’s no blood, the medics assume that it’s broken.

“seungmin… you’re on soon.”

“i’m not performing. jeongin’s filling in for me today.”

“what? but you practiced…”

“please… let me stay. i just want to help you feel better…”

you grab onto his hand, trying your best to reassure him that you’re okay. he doesn’t budge, so you just give up on it. 

“you did amazing, angel.”

“thank you…”

“no, really. i mean it. you kept it incredibly professional out there. plus the song was way outside your comfort zone, it was just amazing to hear you sing like that.”

“seungmin…”

“i’m going to kill whoever fucking did that to you. normally they’re more careful with these things… i should’ve had them double check or something. i’m sorry”

“hey, it’s not your fault. please don’t worry… it’s just my ankle. i’ll be fine, really.”

“but you’re hurt. if we had done a test before to check… maybe you wouldn’t have to be here…”

you smile, grabbing onto his hand and bringing it up to your lips to plant a small kiss over his wrist. “it was just a malfunction. it was out of our control, min.”

he clutches onto your hand tighter, his heart fluttering when he looks at you again. the black lightning-like streaks paint your face, eyes still slightly glossed over and nose red.

you’re so worn down, but you still look beautiful as ever. he prefers you like this, natural and authentic. you still look just as beautiful, but the black streaks have his heart clenching.

suddenly, he gets up, picking you up and moving you to the side a little. he’s extra careful not to apply any pressure to your ankle. he knows you’re in enough pain already.

he sits down in the empty space next to you, pulling your head to his chest. “you promise you’re okay? no discomfort?”

“it hurts of course, but other than that, no.”

“i’m so sorry…”

“baby, it’s really not your fault.”

he rubs up and down your arms, more so to soothe himself rather than you, and you smile up at him. you place a small kiss on the corner of his lips, as far as you can reach without moving your legs.

“i’m okay…”

“i love you, gorgeous.”

“i love you too, minnie.”

the medics finally come back, telling you that it’s only a fracture. you’re lucky you don’t need a cast, but you still need to heal for a little while.

“thank god you’re okay…”

“you’re not going anywhere without me for the next couple days, okay? i’ll take care of you, i promise…”

“seungmin, you really don’t have to—“

he cuts you off again.

“but i want to.”

you giggle again, you didn’t think he’d react this way. but of course he was going to be overprotective, what did you expect?

you lean over to plant one more kiss onto his jaw, and he pulls you onto his lap. “seungmin, i think you’re more upset about this than me…”

“of course i’m upset! they hurt my baby…”

“it doesn’t even hurt that bad anymore… im fine. you don’t have to worry about me.”

he pulls you flush against his chest, nuzzling his face into your neck. you giggle at him, a little confused as to why he’s licking you, but you stop once you realize that it’s not saliva.

they’re tears.

“it could have been so much worse…”

you wipe the tears from his face, smiling once you see him clearly again. “why are you crying?”

he sighs lightly, giggling when he realizes how he’s acting. “nothing, i’m just… glad you’re okay.”

you smile at him, holding his hand again and trying to sit up. it doesn’t work of course, seungmins arms are wrapped tightly around your waist.

“let me go!”

you thrash around in his arms, but he only holds onto you tighter, giggling as he watches. 

“seungmin!”, you whine.

“they said you needed rest!”

“that doesn’t mean you have to be completely attached to me!”

he rolls his eyes playfully, planting a kiss onto the top of your head. “actually, thats exactly what it means.”

“i hate you, kim seungmin.”, you grumble. you turn to look at him, scoffing once you see him wink.

“love you too, babe.”

"I think I know what that smile means,” Y/N says as she sits down on the sun lounger next to him. It was hard not to notice the cheeky smile on his lips as he watches Felix and Changbin standing by the edge of the pool chatting away to each other. As if she was reading his mind, she shakes her head “Don't even try it. Felix might let you get away with it but Changbin will kill you.”  

“I don't know what you're talking about,” he scoffs. “I was just watching them to make sure they don't accidentally fall in.”  

“Accidentally?” She questions, a brow raised, silently letting him know she isn't falling for it.   

“Accidentally,” he nods, moving to stand up from the lounger, letting his intrusive thoughts get the better of him.  

“Kim Seungmin!" she warns. 

Seungmin chuckles before acting like he's going to walk right past them without trying anything, until he reaches Felix and pushes him into the pool. He makes an attempt to also push Changbin into the pool but flees instead with Changbin running after him with a "Yah! Kim Seungmin!" when it fails. 

Y/N tries to hold back her laughter at the chaos unfolding in front of her. It eventually ends when Changbin catches Seungmin and throws them both into the pool. 

As they resurface, sputtering, laughing, and yelling at each other, Y/N no longer holds back her laughter. There wasn’t a dull moment with these men and she couldn’t be more grateful for the joy and laughter that they bring.

today had been a hard day for so many reasons, and it seemed like it was just one thing after the other. you felt so frustrated with your circumstances and exhausted from the trouble that the day had brought you. all you wanted was to go home and melt into the arms of your loving boyfriend. you made your way up to your shared apartment thinking about how good it’s going to feel to finally be in his presence.

when you opened the door, there he was. sitting on the couch, waiting for you like he always did. your worries and stress from the day completely dissolved into nothing the second you laid eyes on him. he wasn’t even doing anything, just on the couch lounging around, but he already helped you feel better just by being there looking so content.

“welcome home!” he said calmly as he started getting up, probably to hug you. that was something you really cherished about him. he was always so relaxed and laid back. he was excited to see you, of course, but he never felt the need to make a big huge deal over it. he would always greet you gently and make an effort to make sure you got a welcome home hug. he was like the personification of comfort in your eyes, and you loved him so very much.

“no, no, stay, let me just-“ you said as you quickly set your things down, took your shoes off, and made your way to him. he gave you a confused look while halfway off the couch to which you just gave him a tired smile.

“puppy pile?” he questioned.

“puppy pile.” you affirmed his suspicion. he immediately relaxed his body into a comfortable position on the couch with his arms open, waiting for you again. you then straddled his waist, wrapped your arms around his body, and leaned your upper body against his. you fully hugged him with your head completely smushed into his neck.

“i’m in love with you.” you admitted to the boy beneath you as you tried to hold him tighter as if he was going to disappear suddenly. you felt his chest rumble as he began to laugh sweetly at you. you felt your heart pound at the sound, at the feeling. it was one of your favorite things while cuddling to be able to feel him laugh. it was a moment that was so intimate, so precious to you.

“i won’t be able to breathe if you hold me any tighter, baby”

“close isn’t close enough.” you pouted into his neck, while he smiled at you.

“i agree, but i also need to breathe!” he continued to laugh at you.

“if you hate me just say it, kim seungmin.”

“i love you, y/n” he said as he looked down at you with such sincerity in his eyes and a lovestruck grin plastered on his face. you looked up at him and saw the look of pure adoration in his eyes. you felt so loved that it made you shy, so you started giggling, then squeaked out an “i know” back to him. you snuggled into him again, while he gently rubbed your back. you wish you could bottle this moment and keep forever. this is exactly what you needed after the kind of day you had. you were so grateful you could always count on seungmin to be there to bring you peace.

the two of you lied like that for a while, basking in each other’s touch without feeling the need to say much. you were home. physically, yes you were definitely at home, but mentally your home wasn’t just a place. your home was kim seungmin. he was your safe person, and the reason for your happiness. every stressor lost its meaning when you were with him. when you were with your home, you had nothing to worry about. he was someone that made you stay in the moment, he kept you so grounded. you felt like nothing could hurt you, no matter emotionally or physically, when you had him by your side. you were deep in thought, thinking about how much the man beneath you meant to you, when he tore you from it all.

“y/n, should we eat something? it’s dinner time!” he said as he checked his phone, you two had been lying there for much longer than you thought.

“oh yeah, we probably should!”

“what would you like, my love?”

“doesn’t matter to me!”

“how about your favorite?”

“ugh, kim seungmin, you’re the man of my dreams”

“i know right?” he responded with a smirk and you gasped in shock at him. he always had so much audacity it caught you off guard sometimes. you gently tapped him on the head as a way to reprimand him.

“watch it, i might fall out of love with you.”

“that’s literally impossible.”

“i mean-”

“i’m right, admit it!”

“no!”

“i am so right!”

“nuh-uh”

“yuh-huh” he made an exaggerated facial expression at your refusal. the whole thing just made you two break out in giggles.

“you love me. you’re sooo in love with me!” he said as he stuck his tongue out.

“yeah right!” you lied through your teeth. he was absolutely correct, and knew it too.

“i know what will get the truth out of you.” he said as he sat up, which made you sit up on his lap, and you wrapped your arms around his neck.

“what?”

“i have a way-”

“NO PLEASE!”

“WITH TORTURE!” he said as he switched your positions so you were underneath him. he straddled your own body, so you had no way of moving, then began ruthlessly tickling you. you couldn’t stop laughing, it was almost painful, but you enjoyed every second of this moment with the person you loved the most.

“SAY IT! admit you love me!”

“NO!”

“say it or else!” he said as he persisted his tickle attack. he got a specifically sensitive spot that made you cave.

“OKAY! ENOUGH! I’M DYING! i love you or whatever.”

The latter pinched the bridge of his nose with two fingers. He knew the boys would be reacting very strongly when he was going to announce he wanted to propose to you, but he still didn't expect them to be so stoked.

"I'm asking you to help me propose! Not to help me plan a wedding that I don't even know is going to happen," he shook his head in discouragement.

Chan frowned as he stood up. "I have one question." Seungmin turned to him, encouraging him to continue. "Are you sure about this? This is a huge commitment, you know?"

"I've been with her for years, it's not like I didn't think about it."

"What did you have in mind for the setting?" Jeongin asked. "Oh, can I plan that out?"

You walked around the counter, not forgetting to turn off the stove, before coming right in front of Seungmin. "Babe, it's alright. We had already talked about it before and we both know that's what we want." you pecked his lips, but he pouted. "Seungmin..." you sighed.

"I was sure you were going to say yes, don't get me wrong, but the surprise is still ruined."

What you didn't expect was to see the whole gang assembled in front of the building. You let go of Seungmin and ran to the tank. You felt like a child really, but the fluorescence of the animals were only too beautiful to not react this way. Moving forward, you then arrived the place you were looking forward to the least: the tropical fishes tank. This was the spot the guys and Seungmin chose for the proposal. By then, Seungmin had wrapped his arms around you as you dropped a few tears. Along with your sniffs, you melted into his embrace lovingly as you murmured sweet words and thanks. He truly was your everything.

So when he put his knee down, you sobbed even more. How could you refuse to marry him like this, even while being aware this was all an act? The boys came closer, but still gave you some space, so they could watch from afar.

"Y/N, this is something we have been discussing for a while now. I love you so much and it would pain me if I never get to spend the rest of my days with you." Seungmin started, looking up at you.

You hoped the love and sincerity you saw in his eyes were raw and not faked for the show. You knew Seungmin better than this, and he was being genuine. If anything, he couldn't lie to you in your face. You were too precious for that.

"So..." he trailed off while taking out a small box from his pocket. "F/N, will you do me the pleasure of marrying me?"

As he opened the box, your gaze went straight to the ring. He picked the perfect one. Although it had a lot of small details, it remained simple with the small diamond on top of it. You didn't know you could cry more than this.

"I-" you started, but stopped yourself as you remembered what you needed to do. "I love you, Seungmin... But I can't..."

You heard gasps coming from the boys and quiet whispers, as they were clearly confused. Although you had planned of walking away, you did so only because you couldn't bear with Seungmin's face who had dropped instantly. Either he was an excellent actor, or you had truly hurt him. So you left, leaving his letter behind as you dropped it in front of him.

"I got you an ice cream." Jeongin said in a sad tone as he came back from the ice cream shop nearby.

The boys had left the aquarium not so long after you, and they moved to the park next to it. Jeongin had offered himself to get everyone a treat, but especially for the broken-hearted man

"Thank you, Innie." Seungmin said as he took the cone from him.

"I was sure she was going to say yes." Jisung muttered under his breath.

"We were all sure." Chan added. "She only refused the proposal, though, maybe she is simply not ready for such a commitment?"

Minho deadpanned at him. "They've been together for like, what, five years? She was already committed to him enough that there is no logic in her refusing, don't you think?"

"You can't be certain. What is she simply doesn't want to get married?"

"Nonsense." Felix joined in. "I've heard them talk about it before, and she told him about her dream wedding dress and shit."

"Alright, then. Did they fight?" Hyunjin questioned, but Changbin huffed in response.

"Did they look like they fought to you when they got here?" he rolled his eyes.

"Guys, it's alright." Seungmin stopped them. "Don't act like I'm not here."

They all quickly apologized, and then kept quiet. They weren't exactly sure what to say, they have never witnessed such a devastating moment before. They even less expected for it to happen to Seungmin.

"Are you doing alright?" Jeongin dared to ask.

Seungmin shrugged. "I don't feel good, for sure. It's like I haven't processed what happened yet."

Seungmin was rarely sad. Most of the boys didn't know how to react to this, especially when it was such a big turn of event that caused it. Changbin debated internally whether he should call you or not, at least to get an explanation out of you. Still, the main focus was on Seungmin.

"What are you going to do now?" Jisung, who had surprisingly remained rather quiet the entire time, asked.

"We can go back home, I guess. I don't know..."

"Wait for her call." Hyunjin said, putting a hand on his shoulder. "She'll call you for sure. In the meantime, try to get some rest."

He thanked his friends truthfully. He didn't expect this whole thing to actually hurt him. Still, he wanted to scare the shit out of the guys, and it all seemed to be working perfectly. But it became too much.

"It was a joke, guys." he finally admitted.

Hyunjin took his hand off him and stared widely at Chan. The others were as stunned, as they gave him a look of confusion.

"Care to explain, please?" Felix broke the awkward silence that was settling.

Seungmin sighed, a lump in his throat. "Y/N told me that Jeongin, Jisung and Changbin had ruined the surprise. I was so mad and disappointed that I had the stupid idea of pulling a prank on you. So basically, her refusing to marry me was the plan, but I'm starting to think it wasn't as funny as I originally anticipated it to be."

Changbin gave him an apologetic smile. "We're sorry for ruining it all. She said she would fake her surprise face, but it looks like you two got us." he laughed out.

"Seungmin, this is very wrong, you know that? We're sorry it didn't go as planned, but I don't think Y/N was faking her tears earlier." Chan sighed loudly.

"I know that." Seungmin groaned, putting his face in his hands, not holding back tears anymore. "And it actually hurt me when she said she couldn't, even though I was the one who told her to say this. I feel like shit."

Jeongin, who had dialed a number on his phone, put it away in his pocket as he shook his head. "She's not answering my calls."

"Go see her." Minho assured. "Talk it out with her, I'm sure you can figure this out."

Back in your apartment, you had changed into sweatpants and opened a pot of ice cream to eat in front of the television. This was so cliché, but you didn't care. You were genuinely hurting, and it seemed to be the only way to cope for now. Your phone rang again, signaling that one of the guys, most likely Changbin or Jeongin, had texted you yet again. Ignoring the calls, you simply increased the volume of your movie as tears were dripping out of your eyes. As the characters on the screen were in the middle of a dialogue, you heard a soft knock coming from the door.

"Busy." you yelled out, eyes still focused on the TV.

Another knock.

"Come back later."

One more.

You huffed as you put away your snack, getting up to look at the peephole. Seungmin... there he was. Standing at your front door, eyes swollen and a bit red. Though you were mad at him for the whole prank thing, he was still the love of your life, and seeing him like this pained you.

You unlocked the door and opened it, to his shock. He looked up at you and gave you a weak smile.

"Hey."

"Hi."

He took a deep breath. "Can I come in?"

"Baby, I'm so sorry for what happened." he mumbled.

You let him in and he walked upon your ice cream with your TV on. That's when he turned to you to take a better look at your appearance. You looked as much of a mess as him, maybe more, and it only made him feel worse.

You shrugged your shoulders, trying to play it cool. "All good. How did they react?"

"It doesn't matter."

You frowned. "Wasn't it the whole point of your idea?"

"Yes, but it was probably the worst idea I've ever had."

You cocked your head to the side, taken aback from his words. "You've had worse ideas than that, what do you mean?"

"Don't play dumb, Y/N." he said, started to get frustrated. "I hurt you."

"I mean, yeah, a little. But it was all fake, no?"

"Everything I said was true. Everything in that damn letter." he said as he pulled it out of his pocket. "It was all true. Because, guess what? I am insanely obsessed with you. The mere thought of losing you over this stupid ass plan destroyed me. Just ask any of the guys, I was a mess after you left."

"Obviously, you were acting and-"

"Love, I wasn't faking that. I told them the truth right away."

"Oh." you nodded your head slowly. "Just so you know, it did break my hurt refusing to marry you."

He smiled warmly, coming closer to you. "I know, and I'm sorry baby."

Your tears came back in your eyes as you pulled him in your embrace. "Don't fucking make me do this again."

"I won't, I promise."

He pulled away from you and wiped your tears with the hem of his sleeve. "While we're at it." he breathed out.

You observed him as he did the same motion as earlier that day. Putting a knee down, he took out the same box as he stared right back at your teary eyes.

"This is all sincere, I promise. I can't express how much you mean to me and I can't imagine a life where you are not by my side." he said before opening the little box, exposing the shining ring. "Will you marry me?"

"Fuck yes." you sobbed out.

He got up instantly before crashing his lips onto yours. You wrapped your arms around his neck to deepen the kiss. It had a hint of saltiness because of your tears, but it only added to how meaningful it was.

"I love you too." you cried out while he put the ring around your finger. "But I hate you so fucking much."

"I know, baby."

sonny angels

SONG Y/N: florist, helps her grandma run their family-owned floral boutique, Song of the Flowers. she keeps to herself for the most part and doesn’t speak unless spoken to. despite this, she always ends up being the more chaotic and energetic one when she gets close to someone. avoids talking to anyone romantically. likes to collect cute trinkets such as sonny angels and smiskis (she chose the name of the gc as you can see), dorms with one of her closest friends, chuu. posts on social media too much..

KIM CHAEWON: works as a bobarista at a well-loved boba place and popular hangout spot, Boba Babe. she is more out there and social compared to y/n, but she still prefers to stay within her bubble and what she’s familiar with. loves her friends a whole bunch and is always inviting them to hang out, even if it’s just to grab groceries. spicy food enthusiast!

KIM JIWOO: goes by chuu, she is co-workers with chaewon at Boba Babe, and she dorms with our lovely y/n! shes the social butterfly of the group and shes very bubbly and cheerful, there’s not a single person who she is not friends with in uni. pair her and jisung together and you’re bound to be faced with chaos. she loves spontaneous decisions and is often trying new things out.

KIM SEUNGMIN: went to study abroad in Los Angeles, California, and had since come back to resume his studies back home instead (poor boy got homesick). the quietest in the group and the most rational. has known y/n since preschool, and they’ve been attached at the hip since. don’t be fooled by his straightforward, sarcastic, and sassy front, deep down he’s really just a puppy. he likes to enjoy the small and simple things in life and sticks to a routine. takes pictures of anything and everything, and especially loves to take pictures of the friends he loves so much. perfect boy-next-door cliché!

HAN JISUNG: 1/3 of the music production trio 3RACHA. a charismatic young man with a bright energy that never fails to cheer people up. he may be loud and active around his best friends, but he’s also very introverted and socially awkward around people he hasn’t met before. never fails to enjoy making cringey jokes and embarrassing himself to make other people laugh. often made fun of by seungmin for being a scaredy-cat. jokes that y/n is his wife he doesn’t know how to cope with the fact that he can’t get a gf.

YANG JEONGIN: had started vlogging for fun so he could document his and his friends’ lives together, but blew up because of the friend group dynamic they had with each other (and his amazing ootds). he’s shy but outgoing at the same time, and is often babied by all his friends and the internet (despite his cheeky remarks). most fashionable in the gc and more than frequently goes shopping with y/n to help her carry all her bags. although he has known and been with the sonny angels for as long as he can remember, he did manage to be included in another friend group, big hero 6.
