Under the Queen's Umbrella

This is a beautiful series. I smiled, laughed and cried. This is the story of a mother who loves her children and will fight to the teeth to protect them. As a mother myself, I could understand her feelings and her actions. Queen Im Hwa Ryeong is an intelligent woman, street smart, and she has learned to play the politics game to protect her five sons. He eldest, the Crown Prince and his own wife, little boy and his youngest on the way are her pride and joy. He is the model child everyone would want to have. She worries about his health.

When the king decides to look for a substitute for the Crown Prince's assistant, the Queen will have to prepare her other four carefree sons so they can show they are just as worthy as their other half-brothers. But as she tries to do so without alarming them, she runs around inside and outside the palace looking for them.

Her second son, Grand Prince Seong Nam, was taken away from her when he was born. She was able to bring him home after years of living outside like a commoner. He feels like an outsider inside the palace and likes to train outside, but he loves his brothers, and cherishes his relationship with his older brother.

Grand Prince Muan is a young man in love with a woman of low birth. His mother is constantly getting him out of her home and bring him back to the palace.

Grand Prince Kye Seong is a quiet young man who brings peace to his mother but carries a secret that could kill him.

Grand Prince Il Young is in his early teens and too young to care about politics.

As the political intrigues unravel, we see her relationship with her sons strengthen. This a woman who will protect, not only her children, but the king's other sons. . . She is strong and flexible, accepting and a problem solver.

I liked her relationship with her sons. How she interacts with each and gives them the support they need while also giving them wings. I also like her relationship with the King. Out of all his wives, the audience can see a special bond between them. He values her opinion and respects her. She respects him, although there are things she will always keep away from him in order to protect her sons. She is indeed her son's secret keeper and their support.

I really love what the title symbolizes. The umbrella she puts over her boys' heads when it rains and what it all means.

I truly love this story!

Dizi 10’ar dakikalık kısa bölümlerden oluşuyor. 3 farklı hikaye olarak seri yapılmış. Yine bir okul ödevi tadında kısacık eğlencelik minnak diziler. Her birinde tanıdığımız, sevdiğimiz oyuncuları görmemiz mümkün.

The Universe's Star;

Woo-Joo yetenekli bir şarkıcı-söz yazarıdır ve Byul-Yi ise bir ölüm meleğidir. Hayranı olduğu çocuğun hayatını alması için gönderilince aralarındaki romantizm dizinin konusu olur. Benim yorumum üçlemenin en pasif ve silik hikayesi buydu. Hikaye anlatmak istediği duyguları anlatabilecek kadar uzun olmadığı için izleyiciye pek bir şey geçmedi. Ama çok da ciddi bakmamak lazım tabi.

Romance Full of Life;

Çok uzun süredir polis memur sınavlarına hazırlanan So In-Sung  8 kez başarısız olmuştur. Buna rağmen hiç neşesini kaybetmemeye çalışır. Kız arkadaşı Wang So-Ra  ise artık onunda ayaklarının yere bastığını görmek ister. Aynı zamanda o da kendi içinde zor zamanlar geçirirken anlık bir kararla ilişkilerini bitirir. Dünyası yıkılan In-Sung  tesadüfen gördüğü  "Hayat Dolu Deney" isimli bir ilaç deneyine katılarak para kazanacağını düşünür.  

Bu hikayenin konusu ilginçti. Tamamen mükemmel insana dönüştüren bu hap ile yapay bir popülerlik kazanan karakterimizin aslında ne istediğini keşfetmesini anlatıyordu.

Queen of Ring;

Benim seriye başlama nedenim ve en eğlendiğim hikaye ise buydu. Aileden gelen genetik bir çirkinliğe sahip kısa boylu bir kız olan Mo Nan-Hee bir gün annesinin sırrını keşfeder. Ailesinde nesillerdir ailenin kadınlarına miras kalan bir yüzük vardır.  Yüzüğü sevdiğin kişinin sana takmasını sağladığında karşındaki kişi seni görmek istediği ideal güzellikte görmesini sağlıyordur. Babası gündüz işteyken yüzüğü annesinden ödünce alan kızımız okulda sevdiği erkeğe dünyanın en güzel kızı olarak görünür. Ancak yakışıklı çocuğumuz Park Se-Gun yüzüğün büyüsü ile yıllar önce karşılaşıp beğendiği bir kızın yüzünü görmektedir. İşte o kız bizim Nan-Hee’nin arkadaşıdır ve aynı okula kaydını yaptırınca işler karışır.

Hikayeler böyleydi. Üçü de yumuşak, kısa, keyifli zaman geçirten tatlı dizilerdi. Çok uzun konuşmaya gerek olduğunu düşünmüyorum. Sıkıldığınızda açıp 10dk bakıp kapatabileceğiniz, küçük bir kaçamak olarak düşünebilirsiniz.

An accomplice in a deepfake pornography case at Seoul National University (SNU) received a five-year prison sentence on Wednesday in his first trial.

The case in question involved the making and distribution of pornographic deepfakes using the photographs of dozens of female victims, including university classmates.

This sentence was the first for an individual implicated in the deepfake pornography case at SNU. The legal judgment against the perpetrators came as the result of dogged efforts by victims, who had visited four different police stations since July 2021 to request an investigation.

Representing the 14th criminal panel of the Seoul Central District Court, Judge Kim Yu-rang sentenced a 28-year-old surnamed Park to five years in prison on Wednesday in a trial on charges including violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes through filming with a camera or other device and distribution of falsified footage.

Park and other perpetrators are accused of circulating illegal deepfake pornography — manipulated explicit images or videos created using sophisticated machine-learning technology. They are suspected of using photographs of the faces of female victims to create 419 sexually degrading deepfake materials and distributing a total of 1,735 materials over a four-year period beginning in 2020.

Despite Park’s prison sentence, the victims are still tormented by the incident, which one described as being “like the world I knew came crashing down.” Most of the deepfake victims had to endure the torment of seeing images and videos in which their faces were used in scenes representing inhuman situations.

Inside a Telegram chat room where the deepfakes were circulated, the perpetrators made sexually degrading remarks about the victims and spread false information about their personal details and private lives. In some cases, that information was then used to approach victims for sexually exploitative purposes, to harass them, or to notify them of their victimization.  

The seriousness of the deepfake pornography issue remains underestimated in Korean society.

As news of the widespread sexual crimes spread online, internet users responded by saying they had “no idea why it would be so traumatic” or that “the effects are trivial if it’s just a matter of a few people making and circulating images among themselves.”

Kim Soo-ah, a professor of communication at SNU, explained, “The system for regulating digital sex crimes is centered on the victims’ perception of feelings of sexual shame [rooted in traditional notions of chastity], and it appears as though deepfakes are seen as a lower-level crime than something like illegal photograph because it’s ‘not their actual body.’”

“In a male-centered society that sexually objectifies women, victims experience torment simply through the existence of [images and] rumors, regardless of whether the sexual images are false,” she said.
