A Little About Me

I love writing. It's one of my favorite things to do. I've been writing for fandom communities for several years now, and truthfully, I was feeling a little creatively burned out. I had finished a number of LONG projects, and didn't have it in me to start anything else major

So I decided to give Tumblr a try! So far, it's going great.

My other hobbies include collecting action figures and statues, video games, kdramas, RPGs, and comic books.

In the vocal class, when Soyou asked someone to raise their hand if they wanted to go first, everybody looked at each other. Eve started slowly raising her hand, but was beaten by Goeun who volunteered first. She ended up going after Sakura, singing in both Korean and Japanese.

“You’re good, but you must work on your pronunciation,” Soyou said, Eve nodding in understanding. “Other than that, there’s nothing wrong.”

“Alright. Thank you.” Eve bowed, going back to standing with the rest of the class.

During the night practice, Eve left the practice room.

“Sakura unnie!” She called out to the older girl, who turned around at the sound of her voice. “Can you help me with my pronunciation?” Eve asked.

Sakura nodded. “Yes. You’re Japanese is good!” She complimented as she and Eve sat down near the stairs.

“I started studying for this programme,” Eve said.

They quickly got to working on the pronunciation, Eve helping Sakura with Korean pronunciation when she had perfected hers. They then started going over the choreography, fixing any issues Sakura had.

“Sakura unnie helped me with my pronunciation of the Japanese lyrics,” Eve began, “and now I feel more confident in my performance. I think that I’ll be able to give a good performance now.”

“Nabi-chan asked me for help and then she also helped me,” Sakura said. “She’s like an angel.” She laughed.

“I spent a lot of time practising for the re-evaluation, so I hope I do well.” Eve said.

She was one of the only trainees to sing in both Korean and Japanese, delivering a stable performance. After performing, she bowed to the camera and went to sit down.

“That was very good,” Choyeon complimented.

Eve smiled at her. “Thank you.”

“I made a mistake when singing the Japanese version of the song,” Eve complained. “I mixed up my words and ended up skipping an entire line because I was so flustered. Ah!” She groaned, laughing. “Why did I mess up?”

Eve was ushered into a room and told she could call one person as she was given her phone. She dialled a number, waiting as the phone rang.

“Hello,” Her mom answered.

“Eomma!”

“Nabi, how are you, sweetie?” Sunhee asked.

“I’m doing good,” she answered. “How are you?”

“Same here. What’s it like there? Are you doing okay?”

Eve thought for a second. “It’s good here. We haven’t done a lot of stuff. I think I’ve adjusted completely now.”

“That’s good. I know you’ll do a good job, Nabi-yah,” Sunhee said. “Your brother was here,” she mentioned.

“Really? Tell him I miss him for me. Also appa,” she requested.

“Okay. Enjoy your time there.”

Eve nodded. “Yes. Bye, eomma. I love you!”

“I love you too!”

“Trainee Kim Nabi,” Hoongki announced. “I’m excited to see her performance.

“My ballerina!” Cheetah squealed.

They watched her videos.

“She knows when to breathe and how to dance in a way that doesn’t affect her singing,” May J Lee noted.

Yoonjung nodded. “She’s really good. Why hasn’t JYP debuted her yet?”

“I know, right?” Hoongki agreed.

oh whaddup, it’s ya girl jamie yet again with a new third muse. only this one isn’t new as i’ve decided to bring back miss na minah. some of you might remember i brought her in last summer originally but i fell through pretty shortly after cuz i, yet again, had too many muses to my name. virtually nothing has changed about her since last time but ofc, as either a refresher for who remembers her vaguely, and an introduction for everyone who doesn’t know her i have some pages for her up here: [biography] [profile] [connections]. i’ll also leave some more info below the cut. if you want to plot, please just like this post or slide into my ims at any time! you can also hit me up on d*sc*rd if you prefer, odds are i respond faster there at: goth gf kim minji#5703 .

the basics about minah: lipstick’s lead vocal, 27 yrs of age aka a ‘92 liner (we love a hag!!!) and all-around mom friend

she grew up in busan with her parents and later, with a younger brother and two younger sisters 

when she was 9 her parents divorced and her dad just kinda... up and left

a few years later her grandparents lost their home and moved into their already rather small apartment

so obviously, things weren’t going well for the na family

minah took on a lot of responsibility in housekeeping, taking care of her siblings/grandparents and even working small side jobs next to school

her mother was working hard to provide for them all so her siblings kinda mainly looked at minah for guidance, even though she wasn’t all that old herself at that age

she was 18 when she got scouted by bc entertainment on a summer afternoon when she was just playing guitar and singing in a local park with some friends

personally, she wasn’t all that interested in going but her younger sister insisted she must, so she did

she trained for two years, most of which went well really, without much of a hitch except that she really had to get used to being away from her family

she debuted as the lead vocal and only narrowly missed the main vocal spot or so her vocal trainer told her, she didn’t care much though

only a few months after lipsticks debut her mother had a back injury and ended up out of work

of course, minah wanted to return home and support her family but well, that wasn’t allowed, she was a debuted idol now

her siblings kinda held it over minah that she wasn’t there to help out both financially (as lipstick was still not making any damn money yet) and around the house

even after lipstick started making money, minah always felt bad for not being there when her family needed her and she continued to carry the guilt with her

when she began earning money, she sent home everything she could miss to help out her family

which caused her siblings to lighten up a little but they remained rather accusatory about how little time she had to be there for them

with that crisis averted everything was fine for a bit 

until ofc, the whole goeun debacle happened

first in the form of lipgloss being shoved forward to divert attention, a plan that failed as all it achieved was that minah was grossly overworked and the general public began to dislike lipgloss and namely their new sound

then goeun left and there was a lot of antis talking about how without goeun lipstick would surely flop

minah was kind of pushed into the role of the new main (unofficial) main vocal both by the general public and bc themselves

she never asked for such a huge responsibility, neither did she want that spotlight but she also didn’t want to let lipstick down so she tried to do the best she could

by now, most of the hate and the people doubting her skill have grown silent, which was a huge relief to minah

but because of that, more and more talk have been within bc to start pushing her more into solo work, something minah doesn’t necessarily want but also doesn’t want to be ungrateful about

so yeah that’s that for what’s going on in her life

about her personality

she’s a very caring person but can be a bit overbearing in it

a mom friend but not in the will coddle you sense, she will give you hell if needed, don’t think she’ll let you get away with stuff

yeah basically loving but firm

a great vocalist ofc, but not super super confident in her voice? she thinks it’s good but no measure for the big main vocals out there

plays guitar and piano very enthusiastically

not necessarily a home body but not super crazy in how she likes to spend her time

prefers going to workout together or going for coffee or cooking dinner with someone over going out or something of the likes

very attached to her family, sometimes to a fault as it tends to draw her attention away from her own life and she has a hard time from seeing their faults, will always defend them even if she shouldn’t 

not a great dancer, she’s never gonna be one and tbh she doesn’t care too much about being one either, she’s there to sing okay

she also has two cats, lucky and min, who she loves dearly

∇ caring: naturally, woodam just wants what’s best for people. if that means he’ll shoulder all your emotional weight for you, that’s what he’ll do. he’s the type of person to not rest until someone feels completely secure. he’s known for being a brotherly figure to rookies and trainees at his company. 

∇ optimistic: always looking on the brighter side of things is something woodam does easily. he hates looking at negatives, as it feels like it limits his energy. in a group of mostly pessimists, his optimism comes in handy when the group needs some morale. he’s always willing to shine some positivity on a situation.

∇ patronizing: he never means to be, but sometimes woodam can come off as a bit patronizing, especially to younger people. sometimes he forgets that not everyone younger than him is a child and that they are capable of doing things they are assigned. this trait came out a lot during idol producer. he’s noticed it a couple of times, but he still slips up.

∇ family life: woodam’s childhood was a hectic one. he was born and raised in hong kong to korean parents. woodam’s mother is an international businesswoman, meaning her job moves her around the world all the time. when woodam turned eight, his mother’s job moved them to seattle, washington. he went to school in the states for five years before his mother’s business moved them to seoul. due to him traveling everywhere with his parents, the three of them have a very tight and trusting bond. both of his parents are very proud of their son for achieving his dreams. 

∇ predebut: woodam’s been all over the world in a short amount of time, meeting a ton of different people. somewhere along the line, he thought to himself it would be cool to be known internationally -- on a larger scale. often he would just daydream about being a famous singer or performer. he didn’t actually decide to take it seriously until he moved to seoul. the idol scene appealed to him greatly. his parents placed him in dancing and singing lessons shortly after. eventually, he was cast by hbh at an audition.

woodam was one of the few early hbh trainees that had a strong background in dancing and singing before being accepted, so he was basically confirmed for debut once he was signed. regardless, he still knew he had to be the best he could for debut. he trained hard for a year before being placed in vice’s final line up.

When I rate my dramas I have a point system:

Unnecessary misunderstandings: -2

Childhood connection: -3

Frustrating miscommunication because characters are petty: -2

Loose ends, or abandoned side characters and plot lines: -1 each

I don't think I've ever rated a drama over 7 lol

I do start dramas for the cast (even if it's just 1 actor/actress I like) and a rarely drop dramas because I have this stupid need to complete everything or else I feel bad. Like I watched the complete cheese in the trap for Kim goeun but I hated every minute of it... or bride of habaek for nam joohyuk 😣

childhood connection can be cute but when it's literally the only thing the characters have in common..... and the actors have 0 chemistry 🙈 please don't... especially in cdramas it's very... 'and they were childhood friends!' like in that vine about roommates. loose ends is what gets me the most, i can even handle misunderstandings. as long as they aren't dragged for 5 episodes and resolved fast.

i too watch dramas for the cast 🤭 even tho i drop dramas often i still like to check the last episode just to see if at least the ending is decent... but when i Like a drama, sometimes i tend to skip the last episode because stuff gets rushed and i hate to see characters i disliked get redemption and good ending...

cheese in the trap was such a .... letdown. as an og a fan of the webtoon...... it was lowkey insulting! and the movie wasn't much better. that webtoon doesn't really translate well to liveaction, at least imho. it's starts like a romcom but it has thriller elements, i had no clue what to expect. it was fun to read and art was pretty too

Have watched/Ongoing:-

구르미 그린 달빛, Love in the Moonlight (★★★★☆, 4/5) - Not bad! Really funny and cute in the beginning of the show :) But towards the end, everything started becoming dark just like other historical dramas - all of the political power stuff and killing people omg - but glad that everything turned out well! Park Bo Gum is so cute!! And he matched very well with Kim Yoojung! :)

화랑: 더 비기닝 , Hwarang: The Beginning (★★★☆☆, 3.5/5) - really loved the chemistry of the cast!! :) The plot could have been better but nevertheless, an enjoyable drama!

최고의 한방, The Best Hit (★★★★☆, 4/5) - Just watched this for the 2D1N cast and didn’t expect anything much from this because there were no hype for it and the ratings were relatively low as compared to other concurrent dramas BUT omg the whole of South Korea is sleeping on this drama!! It had such a sweet romantic line and the humour/gags included were hilarious! Really props to both Yoo Ho Jin and Cha Tae Hyun for directing!! and Yoon Shi Yoon is so cute omg! and omg MC Drill, at first I thought he looked so much like Taeyang and now I know why HAHA (quite a lighthearted drama that is both fun and sweet!!)

미씽나인, Missing 9 (★★★☆☆, 3.5/5) - Despite bad ratings in Korea, it was quite a thrilling drama. The suspense was there initially and the plot was interesting too. But one downside was that we all knew who the bad guy was from the start, so the suspense died halfway. I watched the thing till the end just to feel satisfied after seeing the bad guys put to justice!! But wow they forgave Choi Tae-ho!! And I wished they wrote more romance scenes for Ra Bong-hee and Seo Joon-oh ): they were quite an eccentric and cute couple :)

푸른 바다의 전설 , The Legend of the Blue Sea (★★★★☆, 4/5) - A good classic rom-com drama! Jun Jihyun played her character well, and her chemistry with Lee Minho was unexpectedly well-matched despite the age gap. Overall, a classic fantasy romance drama, along with the cliche chaebol plot (the whole stepmother inheritance shenanigans).

피고인, Innocent Defendant (★★★★★ , 5/5) - is it possible that I give it a perfect score?? HAHA but really this is a superb drama!! Better than Goblin, Legend of the Blue Sea etc. The villain was good, very hateful which was the point. Jisung was great as the lead and his emotions were just so real! Yuri did so well, I’m such a proud SONE!! It’s such a legit and realistic drama! A bit sad for Kim Min Suk my favourite to die but I thought it was understandable! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

수상한 파트너, Suspicious Partner (★★★★☆, 4.5/5) - This was a really well-balanced drama with its law/crime theme and the romance between all the different couples! Omg my heart dropped every single time they showed those “Ji Chang Wook hard at work in the eyes of Nam Ji Hyun’s character” scenes!! Like he is really handsome why did I not noticed that before?? Both the main leads have great chemistry and the main protagonist of the drama is seriously charming as well but we all know he’s a bad boy in the drama... Really good!! :) the casts had great chemistry with each other, even Mr Byun, Mr Bang and the Prosecutor Na, who turned out to be so funny nearing the end haha

도깨비, Goblin (★★★★☆, 4.5/5) - Super good! Very interesting abstract concepts and all the interactions of every single casts are spot on! Kim Goeun was great!! Even though it was my first time watching her shows, she was the center of everyone’s interaction and she did well with great chemistry, not only with Gong Yoo but with the rest too! Btw, Gong Yoo is a beautiful human being :)

힘쎈여자 도봉순, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (★★★★☆, 4.5/5) - I love love love this drama!! It’s a well-balanced drama, with actions, romance, cute scenes, crime-thriller and funny moments! :) I love the pairing of Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik!! And poor Ji Soo he needs a proper love line soon!! I can safely say one of the best dramas this year! :)

38 사기동대, 38 Task Force (★★★☆☆, 3.5/5) - A not bad crime-related drama. It really opened up my eyes to corrupted government officials (which is kinda happening in reality) and how they work. The frauds were really planned out meticulously I was so confused by the last one and I didn’t know who to trust anymore hahaha but I was a bit disappointed that there was no love lines ): Now, off to a romance drama hahaha :)

첫 키스만 일곱번째, Seven First Kisses (★★★★☆, 4/5) - the best thing about web dramas are that they’re very short and makes you wanting more after it ends. Sigh, this was such a cute and fun drama!! And because they’re so short, you won’t waste time watching them, even if they turned out to be bad haha BUT omg this, Lee Jong Suk was so cute in it!!! And Ji Chang Wook so hot!

Just gonna lay out my thoughts here because it's been a while since I put down some kdrama metas and there's anything that I did write down on some of the prev shows I watched, those meta still stuck in the draft and I'm lazy to go back to them atm.

So have a Deluxe Taxi meta XD

To be honest, I'm pretty fine with how the drama concluded like... the whole thing started because of the murder of Mr Jang's parents that sparked the whole revenge taxi thing. And how the murder of Dogi's mum prompted Mr Jang to approach him. Like what great chance to have an ex-soldier helping out with your revenge project, right?

So to have his 'last' revenge request to be about the guy that indirectly started this whole thing then also turn out to be the real murderer of his mum seemed very apt. Cos I like the idea to give back the chance for Dogi to resolve his own trauma after helping other people with resolving their grudges and revenge request. And even from the beginning, he had some questions about the things he's been doing, so to see his relationship with Hana grew into an unlikely friendship (and perhaps even more after) felt really good. Like I'm not really fond of having our dark and broody hero being unable to free themselves from their dark past just for the sake of having the hero continue being dark and broody till the end. Let Dogi be happy! XD

Also, considering that the motto about not being consumed by evil and conquering evil through good/kindness kept popping up to our attention every chance we got, I don't find it strange to have the plot spiralled into having the heroes realising that maybe revenge and violence may not fully be the correct answer. To which the endgame with Oh Chulyoung and his son felt satisfying to me. I mean in the end, Mr Jang and Dogi decide not to be cruel to Dongchan/Hyunsoo and tried to help the kid instead, it didn’t turn out too well. (But at least they tried) Like that's a good outcome for that proud serial killer to inevitably hurt his own family. In which, that led the otherwise unmoved psychopath to actually feel the same thing as what he caused the family of his victims to feel. About time for Oh Chulyoung to receive punishment for his own actions, and his actions indeed brought ruin to himself. No amount of role-playing would save him now!

And I like the idea that Cho Jinwoo chose to resign and become a defence attorney. On one hand, he was able to protect Hana and another, he was then able to help Kim Chulmin in a way he couldn't do if he remained a prosecutor. I like that outcome of Cho taking it into his hand to right the wrongs from the past case. As in FINALLY, he did something of worth. Like he didn't just stop at apologising at the fact they couldn't do much as Kim's case had passed the statute. He actually WANTED to help Kim Chulmin clear his name/false indictment.

I like that that even the criminals that had been targeted for revenge got their own chance at retaliating at the Rainbow Taxi people. It made the story interesting tbh like things don't always go as planned. And just because the good guys did the bad law-breaking stuff doesn’t mean that they’re invincible/cannot be targeted back.

Honestly, if there's anything else that I wished we could see (aside from more HanaDogi scenes) was that I wished there was a case involving arson. Like specifically the guy that killed Mr Choi and Mr Park's younger siblings (among others) or a similar case. I mean, we have Goeun facing Choi Min as well as the Udata case, Dogi and Mr Jang with Oh Chulyoung... heck, even Hana had to deal with a case that hit her personally (Wang Minho’s death). So it would’ve been nice to have the team deal with a case that hits more personally to that two ajusshi. Of course, there’s that voice phishing case that affect Mr Choi, but it’s not like that case was a personal thing to Mr Choi... other than getting back his money.

But yeah, no real biggie tbh.

That aside, it would’ve been nice if we get to some more Hana backstory. I mean, I know that Hana was an original character that didn’t exist in the webtoon, but I am curious of what kind of experience Hana had prior that made her want to become a prosecutor (she did take an elite course to become one anyway) and what actually sparked her initial belief of thinking that the fist might be more useful than the law. I wanna see more of Weirdo Prosecutor/Gum-ddakji backstories XD

That said, I’m pretty happy with how the drama concluded. Like I’ve been wishing that in the end Hana and Dogi would end up working together properly, and we did get a hint of that (since I can’t really imagine Dogi the kind of person to stop helping people in need even after the revenge service was dissolved). And Esom did say that she’d like to take on Kim Dogi’s role and vice versa with Jehoon saying the opposite of wanting to play a character like Hana... and we kinda get that too (Hana raiding the motel and fighting people who resist arrest like Dogi would do, and Dogi finding that abandoned girl in the bag cos there's no way he could ignore people in need of help) so I’m just happy.

구르미 그린 달빛, Love in the Moonlight (★★★★☆, 4/5) - Not bad! Really funny and cute in the beginning of the show :) But towards the end, everything started becoming dark just like other historical dramas - all of the political power stuff and killing people omg - but glad that everything turned out well! Park Bo Gum is so cute!! And he matched very well with Kim Yoojung! :)

화랑: 더 비기닝 , Hwarang: The Beginning (★★★☆☆, 3.5/5) - really loved the chemistry of the cast!! :) The plot could have been better but nevertheless, an enjoyable drama!

To watch:-

쌈, 마이웨이, Fight for My Way (Park Seo Joon!!! And Kim Ji Won!! Can’t wait to watch this cat and dog fight between them hahaha)

최고의 한방, The Best Hit (Yoon Shi Yoon as the lead, like finally!! and the lead actress is Lee Se Young, whom gave me a good first impression in Vampire Detectives with Lee Joon! and omg Cha Tae Hyun and cameos from the 2D1N dudes hahaha AND I JUST FOUND OUT ex-PD for 2D1N Yoo Ho Jin is co-directing it with cha tae hyun omg bless)

미씽나인, Missing 9 (★★★☆☆, 3.5/5) - Despite bad ratings in Korea, it was quite a thrilling drama. The suspense was there initially and the plot was interesting too. But one downside was that we all knew who the bad guy was from the start, so the suspense died halfway. I watched the thing till the end just to feel satisfied after seeing the bad guys put to justice!! But wow they forgave Choi Tae-ho!! And I wished they wrote more romance scenes for Ra Bong-hee and Seo Joon-oh ): they were quite an eccentric and cute couple :)

To watch:-

군주-가면의 주인, Ruler: Master of the Mask (yoo seung ho is quite cute and I love Kim So Hyun, she left a deep impression after her ghost role!)

푸른 바다의 전설 , The Legend of the Blue Sea (★★★★☆, 4/5) - A good classic rom-com drama! Jun Jihyun played her character well, and her chemistry with Lee Minho was unexpectedly well-matched despite the age gap. Overall, a classic fantasy romance drama, along with the cliche chaebol plot (the whole stepmother inheritance shenanigans).

피고인, Innocent Defendant (★★★★★ , 5/5) - is it possible that I give it a perfect score?? HAHA but really this is a superb drama!! Better than Goblin, Legend of the Blue Sea etc. The villain was good, very hateful which was the point. Jisung was great as the lead and his emotions were just so real! Yuri did so well, I’m such a proud SONE!! It’s such a legit and realistic drama! A bit sad for Kim Min Suk my favourite to die but I thought it was understandable! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Btw, Gong Yoo is a beautiful human being :)
