him and Devlin are definitely double trouble (put that at x3 if Julius is also unfortunately there...) but at least they definitely mostly get along and are rather close so..? Unfortunate for the rest of humanity but good for them, I guess 😭
I feel like I need to say this every time we talk about Vivi but this mf sounds like Alex Jones with a Boston accent, I can't overstress the accuracy.
Octavian is in a relationship with Sullivan and they've been together an awfully long time now. Tendency to bicker but they don't actually argue, and are pretty cute together.

Well it’s officially been a week of gifts. Hopefully the gifts haven’t been disappointing and made you at least crack a smile. Is there anything you’d like to see or have me mix in?? Any advice??
Without further ado here is todays gift.
Summary: Henry surprises his mother with a visit home around the holidays. But he comes home to the house not decorated and a strange man is there. (Inspired by A Muppets Family Christmas)
Haul out the holly
We’re getting home so we can celebrate
Fill up the stockings
We may be rushing but we can hardly wait now
For we need a little Christmas, right this very minute
Jacinda reached over and turned down the radio, “Henry are you sure your moms is going to be okay with this?”
“Oh absolutely! Cin you need to know one thing about my mom she’s predictable.” Henry glanced at his girlfriend, seeing one eyebrow lifted and her lips quirked to the side, looking back at the road he continued, “Look I know exactly what she is doing right now. She sitting in our house, everything decorated tree in the corner. She sitting on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, in front of the fire, cup of hot chocolate with cinnamon in her hands. Just a bit sad thinking she will spend the holidays alone. Trust me she will be thrilled.”
“Mhmm,” Jacinda hummed, still unsure this surprise is going to go as Henry said.
They continued to drive down the road as snow flurries began to fall on the scenery. It wasn’t long before they passed an intricately carved sign reading ‘Welcome to Storybrooke.’ And not long after that they pulled up to a blue Victorian style house starting to be covered in a layer of snow.
“Hmmm?”
Jacinda paused before getting out the car looking over at her boyfriend who seemed busy scanning the house. “What?”
“She didn’t decorate the outside like we usually do.”
“Oh?”
“I’m sure it’s nothing. Come on.” Henry got out of the car racing up the steps, Jacinda following cautiously behind him.
Henry knocked on the door with in minutes it flew open. He was welcomed with the sight of his mother. Her eyes went wide and her jaw dropped. It took her a moment of her opening and closing her mouth blinking rapidly before she was able to muster up words.
“Henry?”
“Hi mom.”
A forced chuckle escaped her lips and a smile crept to her face and she moved aside to allow him in and enveloped him in a hug. Jacinda didn’t miss when the smile dropped for a moment over Henry’s shoulder.
“Henry what are you doing here?” She asked pulling out of the hug.
“I can’t come home.”
Emma gave him a light tap on his arm causing him to laugh, “Of course you can. But I thought you were staying at school for the break?”
Henry shrugged, “We wanted to surprise you.”
It was in that moment she realized there was someone else with her son. “Jacinda?”
“Hi Ms Swan.”
Emma came forward taking the girls hand, “it’s so good to finally meet you in person.”
“You as well Ms Swan.”
“So? Do you like your surprise?” Henry asked, wanting a little bit to prove his girlfriend wrong.
“Yes! I always love seeing you,” she shifted slightly, “It’s just that…”
Henry took a look around and saw his childhood home was bare completely unlike the Christmas he knew growing up. “Mom where is everything? Where’s the tree? The lights? The garland?”
“Well-” Before she was able to answer everyone’s attention was drawn to the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs. A man with greying in his bread and hair came bounding down the stairs.
“Who was at the door-” the man looked up before finishing his sentence, “oh hello.”
“Hi,” Henry greeted then turned to his mother, “mom who’s that?”
The gentleman spoke up again, “Ah you must be Henry,” he continued down the stairs approaching the small group with his hand out stretched, “a pleasure.”
Henry cautiously took his hand, “Yeah. I’m sorry who are you?”
“My apologies. Killian Jones I’m-“
“Renting the house!”
Everyone turned at Emma loud interruption.
She let out a nervous laugh, “Kid you know how much I love the beach. When I found out you weren’t coming home I decided to treat myself and take a trip down the coast and have a sandy Christmas instead of being cooped up here. You know all by myself.” Her eyes nervously shifting between her son and the man next to her, “I didn’t want to house to sit so Mr Jones was going to stay here.”
Henry and Jacinda looked back at the man who’s smile now seemed tighter, “Aye. I usually live on my boat figured I could get my land legs back this season and have a nice quiet Christmas.”
“I’m sorry if we have ruined both of your plans,” Jacinda spoke up, eyeing her boyfriend, “we should’ve called.”
“It’s quite alright lass.”
Henry spoke up again, “I’m sorry Mr Jones. Will it take you long to gather your things? I’m sure my mom would be willing to give you a refund.”
Killian reached up and scratched behind his ear, “Unfortunately I can’t leave. My boat is in storage and with the storm coming in it doesn’t seem safe to be on it now. And with it being a week from Christmas I doubt any inns will be available.”
“I’m sure we can figure something out later. Henry why don’t you go get your guys luggage and take it up to your room.”
“Let me help you lad,” Killian offered.
As Henry turned exited back out the door missing the silent exchange Mr Jones had with his mother. But Jacinda didn’t.
When they were gone emma turned to Jacinda and smiled, “I guess we have some decorating to do. Mind helping me bring some up from the basement?”
“Lead the way.”

This has been driving me crazy all afternoon and I have to put this down somewhere so feel free to ignore me;
I've been thinking about the who's the sexiest person that comes to mind immediately thing, and the my legit answer is my husband. He's not the most conventionally attractive man out there, but I love him so much, he makes me laugh, and just generally makes my day better by being within my line of sight. I could gush about him forever, but I'm not cuz I have thoughts to put down, but he's my person and I choose him every time.
That said, when I see/get questions like this, I get legitimately confused. What is sexy? Because I've been questioning my possible asexuality for almost 10 years now, and this is a question I honestly have trouble answering.
People are not sexy to me. They're a body, and to be honest, most of them look the same to me. I see actors/actresses on TV and movies and people I know (hubs included) tell me how hot they think they are but all I see is another guy with the same face as the other guy in the last thing I watched. That woman looks the same as this other one, and it's like a neverending loop of same person-ness, and it legit distresses me sometimes. Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney are considered some of the hottest people in Hollywood right and I they just look like average people to me.
But then I look at an animated character (Pitch, for example), and I wonder what makes him so attractive to me. Even Jack Frost looks like the cute, boy-next-door type (yes, this is a small commentary on the same faced models of Disney characters). But Jack's personality is different from most. He's snarky, he's mischievous, he's a moody teenager, but he's fun. He finds fun in every situation, and his biggest goal is to make everyone around him smile with it. He's charming outside of being simply cute. So what attracts me to someone like Pitch?
Physically speaking, he stands out. Studios seem to enjoy creating their villains to be the opposite of what's conventionally attractive to be what they would probably consider ugly. But it's not ugly, not really. It's beautifully human. People on the street don't look like they do in Hollywood; they're not model thin or rocking defined abs and a chiseled face. While those things may be considered attractive for some, they're not to everyone. Pitch has a long face, a big, wide nose, eyes set far apart, and he's lanky as hell. And I've see people with these features on the street, and they stand out more than the same-face models, and they're beautiful in their own way. Maybe even more so. Other characters that stand out similarly are (also villains, go figure) are guys like Killian from Spies in Disguise, Mandrake from Epic, and Bog from Strange Magic. That's not even getting into the classic Disney villains of Hook, Silver, Ursula, Ratigan, Rourke, Maleficent, Facilier - each of these villains have excellent designs, but because they're villains they were created with features in mind that are considered unattractive by most. They're either too fat or too lanky, with big noses and long faces. Animation can get away with having "ugly" characters like this. Real life can't because Hollywood only employs "beautiful" people.
But these characters all have personality. They're larger than life, dialed up to 11 every second they're on screen, and they're often the best parts of any animated feature, and in my own opinion, it's because they break the mold. They're allowed to be melodramatic because they're "ugly," they can strut their stuff because they don't fit the script, and they're often as unapologetic as it gets. So when Belle sees the true face of the Beast for the first time, we can't blame her for being disappointed. Adam looks just like the guy next door, and that's not the face she and we fell in love with. Ultimately, it's the good inside him that attracts her, not the face of the Beast, and she's smart enough to realize that, but that doesn't mean it doesn't take a moment to reorientate to the new normal. Now she's gotta struggle to pick him out of a crowd of similar looking men.
It's like those stories of guys like Hugh Jackman and Henry Cavill walking down the street in their superhero gear, and no one recognizes them. It's because they look like any average Joe on the street (I should probably mention im not attracted to either of them, either).
But then I hear a hot voice (Jude Law, my love) coming out of an unconventionally attractive face, with all the snark and wit I love in a personality, and boom! Instant attraction. I think about this for other animated crushes I've had, like Meg from Hercules who doesn't really fit the character model for Disney princesses and all her snark and wit, and I can easily name her my first female crush as a child. I've been attracted to more animated characters in my life than actual real people- usually a combination of interesting design, voice, and personality.
Garrus Vakarian, my one true love (helps that he's, ya know. Not human).
Which brings me to "aliens and monsters are sexy because they're not human because humans are unattractive to me unless they stand out somehow."

Season 2 Rewatch Drabbles--2x11 The Outsider
Summary: A series of 100-500 word drabbles to accompany my rewatch of season 2 of Once Upon a Time as an attempt to finally jump start the muse again. There will be a drabble–either a deleted scene, a “fix it” fic or a character musing for each episode of the season. Focus will be on Emma, Henry, the Charmings and Killian–with an emphasis on the very beginnings of Captain Swan’s epic love story, as soon as a certain dashing pirate makes his appearance.

Note: This particular selection is a bit different from my previous drabbles. @kmomof4 demanded--not asked, demanded, lol--I write this drabble as a “fix-it” fic, as Belle’s reaction to Hook’s revelations about Rumple was...shall we say...less than satisfying.
“Died?” Hook spat, getting in Belle’s face “Like it was some kind of accident. Is that what he told you?”
Dread coiled in her stomach.
“He…he didn’t say.”
“Of course not. Of course he’d leave out the most important detail of her passing,” he said bitterly.
“And what would that be?” Belle asked in a small voice, his tone of voice telling her she really didn’t want to know.
“He killed her,” he said. His voice was little more than a whisper, but he might as well have shouted for the impact his words had. “He ripped out her heart, and he crushed it right in front of me.”
“No,” she moaned. It couldn’t be! He’d told her Hook killed Milah, hadn’t he?
No, she realized. He refused to answer, cleverly sidestepping. Why wouldn’t he answer her questions? Was it possible Hook was telling the truth?
“Oh yes, yes. He would do anything, anything to hold onto his power,” Hook said, raising the gun lazily once again. “Why do you think anyone who’s ever gotten close to him has either run away or been killed? Now what makes you think you’ll be any different?”
She wanted to protest his words, wanted to insisted Rumple’s heart was true and Hook’s was rotten, but that little scene from earlier today kept running through her mind.
“Well, I’m not just gonna sit here and do nothing!” Belle insisted.
Rumple rushed toward her, white hot anger on his face. “No, you’re going to go back to the library, lock the door and wait for me to dispense with this problem.”
“And if I don’t?” she asked defiantly, refusing to be cowed by him. “You’ll, you’ll cast some spell that gives me no choice?”
He’d insisted he had no intention of doing such a thing, but Belle could see it in his eyes, the desire to bend her to his will with whatever means necessary. She’d convinced herself it was simply a matter of him wanting to protect her, but now she wasn’t so sure. Now she wondered if there might be more to it, something decidedly sinister.
“I…” she said, hating the waver in her voice, “I don’t know. I just don’t know.”
Hook lowered his hand, going so far as to place the gun on the counter between them, his face showing a hint of something that might be sympathy. “I’d advise you not to find out. The woman I loved found out just what kind of man Rumplestiltskin was far too late, and I’ve had to bear the price of it ever since.”
Her heart plummeted even farther. She knew there was still good in Rumple, she knew it, but it wouldn’t do him any good if he refused to choose that good over his own power, and as much as she hated to admit it, Belle couldn’t be sure he’d ever choose her over power.
“I’ll consider your words,” Belle said, edging past him toward the door. Likely she’d think of little else for a good long time. In one conversation, everything had changed. Suddenly she began to wonder if the relationship she’d thought was so strong and enduring was actually built on sand.

"Yes," Theo confirmed for Ophir, "I saved up for five months to buy it so that I could keep what was just a provisional driver's license as Killian in it." He explained as he took it back once she offered it. Taking it, looking over the current ID in there before placing it back in his pocket again. "They can wind up in some really sticky situations. I was able to use my name in Montana as I was advised I should, and that's how it is you and your Mom heard about what I was doing there." It had hit the news as a bio-terrorism incident would. It certainly made things easier for him to explain when he did get back. He looked to the green 'toxic' snow globe he had bought from there just for a moment before he returned to his hot chocolate comfortably.
Theo chuckled to himself at Violet working out that he had chosen his code name and that Samantha liked astronomy, "that she does, she taught me a lot about it." All those years later and despite rarely seeing the stars from the city, Theo could name the constellations and locate the North star. But he was glad she didn't ask about Sloane, part of him wasn't sure he was really ready to reveal how close the three of them had really been through their career.
"I was informed that we would have to pick names beginning with O, I know now that it was a trend and different trio's would have different letters." An obsolete practice now, or at least as far as Theo understood anyway. "They don't do that anymore and within The Program, I am known as Killian, not Obsidian."

Violet almost wanted to keep the wallet for a little bit longer, fascinated by the object and what it represented. Even if the badge had been changed, the wallet had stayed the same, accompanying him for every mission. "Did you have it in Ophir?" she couldn't help but ask, remembering the Theo she had met there. Young and wilder than her dad.
She reluctantly gave her dad his wallet back, smiling at his little comment. "Some agents use their real names? Don't they get in trouble?" Violet thought it was a little bit sad, that he couldn't use his real name with his oldest friend, Samantha. She couldn't imagine calling Heather anything but Heather! But then again, Heather wasn't a secret agent in a secret organisation.
Her eyes widened when he explained that they used to have code names. Obsidian, Orion and Odyssey. Another secret. She repeated the names in her mind a few times, to make sure they would stay there. Hidden a little corner of her brain.
Her dad's code name was a gem, and so Violet assumed he had picked it himself. After all, she knew he had an affinity for gemstones. And with that conclusion in mind, she asked: "Does Samantha like astronomy?" And maybe Sloane liked the Odyssey by Homer, which she had read as a child. "They all start with an O," she then noticed, "did the code names have to start with the same letter?"

Mercenary for Hire chapter 17 -part 3

PART 3
The moment he went through the castle’s main gates, he looked around, trying to spot her in the crowd. All he saw was the faint trail of ice steps left in the ground, Killian tried his best to follow after them but the rain started to come down on the city and the faint trail of ice left behind her started to washed away by the water that was now pouring, and that had come out of nowhere “shit, shit, shit!” He cursed mentally. All of this, all his training, all of his efforts were all for her, the moment he saw her he froze, he lied he pretended not to know who she was. Said he’d rather leave that part of his life behind. But what was he supposed to say? Yes I know you, I love you. But then, I left you after we spent the night together? After I admitted it to your face? That I was avoiding you?.
“I’m sorry”
He could’ve started with that, he could’ve apologized, he could have done so many different things but played dumb. He groaned, finally letting himself fall on the bed in his room. He was soaked, and didn’t even bother to change his clothes. He had a hunch that they were the same. His Kyrius, and his teacher’s daughter, but it was that a hunch to think he was right. Was he supposed to profess his love to her? In front of his master? her father? He groaned and pulled a pillow above his head, before letting out a scream of frustration.
The next day he woke, he didn’t remember when he had fallen asleep but he still had his clothes from before, he grunted. He felt sluggish, he wouldn’t be surprised if he’d get sick, but it wasn’t the time for him to get sick, so he got out of the bed and proceeded to take a hot shower, that oughta help him. As he stepped out all he could see was the hurt in those brown eyes of hers, the way she clench her fist when he called her his teacher’s daughter, how she bit her lips, the way she giggled to hide the pain and how she took off.
A knock on his door brought him back, and he went and opened the door, meeting a smirking face as soon as he opened the door. It was Lily.
“Why don’t you get some clothes on dear~” she cheered as she let herself inside the small studio. He was surprised to see her but did as he was told. Lily only sat on one of the stools by the small kitchenette.
He looked at her, prompted up in the stool, she even served herself some tea and made herself comfortable, while he dressed. The smirk on her face was almost demonic as she looked at the man up and down, he came out with a pair of pants and a black fitted shirt.
“You must be asking yourself why am I here right?” Lily purred and all he did was nod. “You see. Yesterday was the first time you met Kyrius, as MY daughter, right? I recall she was the only one who you didn’t get to see as a teen back then.. I’m sure that part at least is true”
His eyebrows furrow he wasn’t sure what the sorcerer was going on about “It .. is true” he replied and Lily chuckled, before a sinister smile crossed her face
“Oh.. but you know more than that, you know HER... Not as my daughter though… Not as a Keeper, but just as Kyrius, do you not?” he halted a chill running down his spine as the woman's crimson eyes narrowed on him. But her face softened, as she took a sip of her tea
“I am not one to meddle on my children's affairs, so when she asked you about it, you must’ve had a really good reason for leaving that part out, Killian. I’ll leave you to it. For whenever you want to come clean and tell the whole truth child, Just know this. Kyrius had been really unlucky with this thing we call love” Killian blush at her words, he didn’t say a thing, but the sorcerer was intuitive, but Lily continued despite the tint of red on the man’s face.
“She's frail, kind and at times naive, but she has a big heart. My husband.. He has a great heart too, and he cares for you, I’m sure he’d be happy to know you’ve found each other” Lily chuckled the red on his cheek a little brighter now.
His lips parted to say something but she did not allow “I talked to Vera boy” Killian’s silver eyes widened the more she spoke, the scarier she became. The more he knew her, he realized that Lily Keeper was a force to be reckoned with. “She was surprised to know Kyrius as my daughter, which is so strange. I figured everyone knew who my children were, nevertheless.. She explained why you’re doing this… how you feel unworthy of my child… how you feel about her, about Kyrius”
Lily stood from the stool she was sitting on, her small frame just as small as the one of her daughter, her hand reaching for his cheek and she smiled.
“Avoiding her will do you no good My dear child…she’ll be hurt, if she were to find out. Kyrius cares not for status, not for money or fame, or what people say, If she did, you wouldn’t have gotten her affection… Continue your journey… be better, but not for her, do it to find self-love, to accept yourself as you are, learn to love every part of you, so you may Love her, just as intensely, just as she deserves, because all she deserves is love”
Killian nodded and so Lily left his home. He took in every word, he analyzed what she said and sat on those words as they echoed in his head. What had really driven him away from the warlock? it wasn’t what the maid said. He’d gotten those comments before, constantly even, he'd gotten used to them. What really drove him away was him thinking he wasn’t enough, believing he did not deserve the sun.
“Not for her… for myself.. And then..then I can tell you..”
He gripped his sword and then took off, to the castle to the training, to his next step to becoming someone he would be proud of being, to learn how to accept every part of him, to love himself, so he could love her.

Subject: Tenley Lockwood
I don’t know what’s happening. This is literally how the book starts: with several emails between two characters. I had to scroll through all of them (one email per page) simply to make sure that this wasn’t going to be the entire fucking book. It’s not. Chapter 1 starts after this.
With all due respect, I’d rather fish out my internal organs with a coat hanger than stay here.
I don’t know what’s happening, but big mood.
Your mother’s name and where to find her.
Bonus chapter/Prologue/Whatever the hell is going on here summary: So as I mentioned, we opened on a bunch of emails. The first set is between somebody named Archer Prince and his boss, General Levi Nanne. Archer has been tasked to convince the main character, Tenley Lockwood, to join their side. Archer thinks that this is a load of garbage, and complains about it. General Nanne is like “SUCK IT UP, BUTTERCUP!”
The second set is between Killian Flynn and HIS boss, Madame Pearl Bennett. It’s the same thing, but Killian 100% wants to woo Tenley over basically with seduction. He’s also way less chill about the entire thing, and is certain that Tenley would simply become “another cog in the machine”. He also wants to rip off Archer’s arms and beat Archer with his own arms. Pearl isn’t amused by Killian’s plan, and tells him to beat Archer in his own free time.
All of this would probably be interesting… IF THE READERS KNEW WHAT THE GODDAMNED HELL WAS GOING ON.
Chapter 1
I’ve been locked inside the Prynne Asylum—where happiness comes to die —for three hundred and seventy-eight days.
I’m suddenly having really violent flashbacks to the Shatter Me series. Opening on a girl locked in an asylum telling us how long she’s been in there? Check.
Also, the reviews warn me that despite the fact that there’s a war going on, neither side knows why they’re fighting. Which also checks out with the Shatter Me parallels.
I hope that these are the only parallels, but… The fates are usually never that kind to me.
There are no windows in the building. At least, none that I’ve found. And I’ve never been allowed outside. None of the inmates have.

The author could have written literally anything, and she gave us this dumpster fire of a line.

I can’t even pretend to be surprised that the great mind that gave us Ten as a name is also giving us Bow.
Yes, Bo is a name. But when you add in the w, it turns it from a human name into an adorable accessory for a little girl.
She cups her breasts in a mimic of me and beams. “Boobs are awesome, yeah? Literal fun-bags. I don’t know what you girls are always complaining about.”

If this is Killian or Archer, I’m honestly laughing so hard over either of them being put into a girl’s body. Love triangle? Forget love triangles. Give me more of whatever the hell this is.

Yeah. I’m still in chapter one, and I can understand why people are like “You both suck. There should be a third option.”
I know that this is supposed to be a heaven/hell comparison, but I’m honestly seeing a lot of political parallels in this.

Chapter 1 summary: Now that we’re in the actual story and not whatever the fuck was in the beginning… We’re given some measure of explanation.
Basically, this is a world where life comes in two stages. The titular firstlife, where you’re born, and age. And then you die, and you begin your second life. However, before you die, people want you to sign an unbreakable contract with blood that you’ll join one of two factions: Myriad (aka heaven) or Troika (aka hell). There is supposed to be a third option that’s somehow worse than the two of those. But if you ask me (and our main character, apparently), being whipped for all eternity because you refused to pick heaven or hell sounds better than being forced to fight in a war that you 100% don’t support. And dying for the second and final time sooner rather than later. Because of that war.
Anyway, so there’s a lot of torture porn in this chapter. I’m really over it, because you know that MC is going to leave soon, simply so that the actual story can start. She gets a new roommate, a girl named Bow. But I’m pretty sure that it’s Killian. She/He’s nuttier than squirrel poo, and knows way too much about life in the asylum for Ten’s comfort.
As the girls leave their room for breakfast, they get at it with another inmate, Sloan.

CORRECTION! Regina got the Walmart villain-to-hero Redemption Story
Welcome to another round of “what the hell did that Regina apologist just say?” where I go over a fan submitted biased piece of drivel and rip it point by point! And yes, I do know it’s fan submitted and is indeed from an Evil Regal as I had a shouting match with them on twitter.
I think my favorite part is where this fan says Regina was noble for not regretting anything because of Henry. That is some serious code for “everyone else’s lives don’t matter when it comes to a hot female character that committed mass murder, rape and child abuse!” Well done!
Also I apologize for how many times I use “child abuse” and “rape” and “mass murder”. But, hey, this is what Once Upon a Time gave us! It’s not my fault the villain rapist stans refuse to acknowledge that their favorites are just utter garbage.
In my opinion, their argument boils down to: Despite Regina & Hook both witnessing deaths of loved ones and committing the same acts of evil, the show explored Regina's evil past more thoroughly than Hook’s but Regina’s reasons for turning evil made more sense than Hook’s. And ultimately Regina’s redemption means more because she reached the point of no return multiple times but a love for a child made her fight harder to be a better person and look forward to a promising future. A parent-child love is the only way for a villain to find a valid redemption because unconditional love only exists between parent-child.

My Argument: Yes, Regina & Hook share similarities but only Killian Jones received a complete redemption. A parent-child love is not the only way to show a villain’s change of heart since we very much saw a true change in Killian Jones. We also saw that Killian’s love for Emma was unconditional. True love is unconditional love and the show gives us several true love couples whose love for each other was in fact unconditional. OUAT gave us two true love tests that prove Emma & Killian are true love and goes further by deliberately paralleling them with Snowing & The Princess Bride. Killian also shows unconditional love for Emma by how he handles finding out Neal is alive and stepping aside to give Henry a chance at having his parents together. He also exhibits unconditional love by forgiving Emma for turning him into the dark one and accepting her reasons for doing so. He chose to always see the best in her and her in him and that is the foundation of an unconditional love. So the premise that redemption can only happen through parent-child love is a false one and clearly done as a way to reject Killian’s redemption status.
Never mind that Killian Jones did find his path to redemption through the love of a child: Henry. His relationship with Henry was essential in becoming the man he wanted to be since it showed how much Killian had grown from the vengeful pirate Baelfire rejected to the more humble man teaching Henry how to sail. Furthermore, Killian Jones’ redemption is complete and far more relevant because he: owned his mistakes, faced victims, showed remorse, faced consequences for his actions, demonstrated a change of heart and sacrificed his life to rid the world of the darkness forever.
Whereas Regina did not face any victims, blamed others for her actions, did not sacrifice her life (in fact she let Snowing sacrifice for her), never came clean about Graham & Marian’s murders and always whined about her own happiness. She also never had a change of heart as we hear her say she hates doing good (5x23) and even after her redemption she continued to behave like she was better than others by constantly putting them down, dismissing their pain and ignoring their concerns. Also, we should reject the idea of Regina’s redemption happened because of her love for Henry due to the fact that she emotionally abused him by putting her curse and her needs before his welfare and her abuse of him was never addressed but simply brushed away. A fictional character can’t have redemption through someone they abused when that abuse is not acknowledged. That’s not character growth its just a retcon. Regina was retconned into a “good” mother in S3.
Regina vs Killian: Becoming a Villain

Basically says Regina’s reasons for turning evil made more sense than Killian’s.
Did it really though? Yes, Regina’s past was tied into the main characters so of course the show “explored” or rather spent more time on her past than Killian’s. Everything she did was to take down Snow and she hurt many other people on that journey. That was pretty much the driving plot on why Emma became the savior.
But lets break the down differences:
Regina lived a privileged life as a princess (head canons of Cora abusing her during childhood is not supported by canon and thereby irrelevant here) who never had to want for anything. She even had a doting father who may have been a pacifist but he at least loved her.
Killian Jones was abandoned by his father who sold him into slavery when he was just a child. That is in fact child abuse. Neglect and abandonment. He was abandoned and left to face whatever cruelty at the hands of slavers. He was raised by them doing back breaking labor. Can you for a moment imagine what that life must have been like for a child?
Their backgrounds could not be anymore different. Which one do you think would be more likely to choose a dark path if we take only canon into consideration? Answer: Killian Jones since his childhood was filled with abuse, abandonment and betrayal. He’d only known evil for so long. Note: this should not be used as a generalization because criminals come from all kinds of backgrounds but statistically speaking odds were not in Killian’s favor.

Imagine thinking Killian Jones’ crimes were anywhere near the same level as Regina’s? Look how black Regina’s heart is. What did she do over the course of the series that could have possibly diminished that evil? Nothing. She did NOTHING except do good things EXPECTING to get her happy ending. Then admits in Season 5 that she hated doing it. That is more of an act of an anti-hero than a hero. Which you could argue she is an anti-hero.
So what similar acts of evil do Killian and Regina share?
Each killed one of Emma’s grandfathers
Their own fathers
Abused Belle
Murdered people
Ok so maybe there is some truth to that statement. However.
Regina is the mass murderer.
Regina is the rapist.
Regina is the child abuser and child murderer.
Regina essentially magically raped an entire kingdom in both mind and body. Her curse separated families and had people sleeping with others they wouldn’t have slept with if not for her curse. Basically, Regina’s curse removed their ability to consent much like a date rape drug which is why we say she raped Graham even in Storybrooke and her attempt to seduce David was actually an attempted sexual assault. Her curse was vile. It also gave people memories of two separate lives and the second life was not a happy one!
Jefferson: Then all we’ll do is both sit. Stuck. Two lives in our heads, cursed worse than ever. Two lives, forever at odds. Double the pain, double the suffering.
Most of the people in Storybrooke wanted to flee the bad memories the curse created. And because they were fearful of Regina. But the Evil Queen stans seem to overlook the mental anguish this curse caused people. They now have two lives in their heads and the life Regina forced them to lead is the one life they’re really ashamed of. But that life is now a part of them whether they like it or not.
So Regina filled up her heart with plenty of dark deeds, some so heinous that there really can’t be forgiveness. So trying to put Regina on the same level as Killian is just absurd and erases her more heinous crimes. While Killian Jones should arguably get life in prison… Regina Mills should have faced a firing squad or possibly even burned at the stake.
In short I believe: Killian becoming a villain makes a lot more sense and at least his revenge focused on the root causes for his misery whereas Regina decided to make an innocent child suffer. Regina also decided to take on the very life her mother was supposedly forcing her to take.
Regina vs Killian: a Path to Redemption

I am not going to say that Regina was never brave or didn’t have her moments. But. Come on guys. This was HER MOMENT to prove she was sorry for everything she’d put Snow and her kingdom through and she did not take it!
And lets remember that they had no idea what the serum Evil Queen was planning. For all they knew she was going to kill the Charmings on the spot. Therefore, this moment here knocks about 10 checks off Regina’s bravery/hero column. Especially since she uses her own heart later to defend Zelena against her more evil half.
I have heard others argue before “but Regina had become good by then and already made things right with Snowing and her life was worth more than Snowing’s because of Henry!” However, that’s just nonsense. Regina doesn’t even regret what she did to Snowing nor has she done anything to make up for the horrific things she did to them. She joined their side to get her happy ending not because she was sorry for what she did to them. Also, Snowing had Baby Neal. I guess Henry is more important than Baby Neal? Henry would still have Emma, his real mother, were he to lose Regina, the mother that abused him for 10+ years. And Regina needed to make a sacrifice for her victims (Snowing) and for the greater good (the town) in order to complete a redemption.
Meanwhile, Killian Jones actually sacrifices his life to save them all from the Dark Ones then goes on to be tortured and nearly throne into the River of Lost Souls because he refuses to betray them. Even refuses to betray Gold! This alone adds about 20 checks to his bravery/hero column!
I have heard people say “but this was also cleaning up his mess”! I’m sorry did I misunderstand the part where he said he did not want to become a dark one? I am pretty sure he said he didn’t want to live if it meant becoming a dark one. So I am pretty much going to lay the blame at the feet of the darkness because the darkness was pushing its own agenda. The dark ones were the ones manipulating and using him so they could return. Then Killian had found the strength to break free from their hold and with Emma’s help end the darkness forever. Or would have if not for Gold. So no, this wasn’t his mess. He gave his life to end the mess!
Now a Regina Apologist might say “but Regina was going to sacrifice herself in season 2!”
If Regina didn’t sacrifice herself to stop the kill switch then Henry would die and at that point her perceived happy ending would be gone anyway. Her curse was broken and now the child she illegally adopted and abused was in peril thanks to her actions. This might have been a brave moment but it didn’t happen because she had a change of heart. It was because her plans were thwarted and there wasn’t an alternative solution.

So? She didn’t want the kid she illegally adopted and abused to see her as the monster she was. It doesn’t mean she wasn’t a monster. It doesn’t mean that moments later she would have let them all die if given the chance.
And just to be fair, I do not count Rumple giving his heart to Fook and destroying Fumple an act of heroism either. Rumple had put Henry in jeopardy for his quest to die and join Belle in the afterlife. We know everything Rumple has ever done, aside from kill his own father, has been an act of selfishness. Therefore, it is my opinion based on his past actions, that if Belle had been alive then it wouldn’t have happened.
Therefore, Killian’s bravery in Season 5 far outweighs anything Regina ever did. And Rumple cancelled out his own act of heroism in S3 by pulling all the crap he did afterwards. All hail the real Once Upon a Time Villain to Hero: Killian Jones!

You judge them by what they’ve done not on “what they could have done”. Goodness! I swear where do Evil Regals pull this bullshit from?
Killian was 200-300 years old. I think he’d have found “the time” to be “eviler” if he really was. But he wasn’t. We’ve only witnessed a handful of Killian’s murders and some we haven’t seen he openly admits to. If the show wanted us to believe he was as evil as Regina and Rumple then his heart would have been as black as theirs.
Regina was in her late 40’s (https://oncepodcast.com/forums/topic/final-timeline-and-ages/) when the curse broke and her death tole rivaled Rumple’s who is also somewhere between 200-300 years old (Hades, S5). Regina had less time but did more evil on a far grander scale than Killian did in all 300 years of his existence. That alone makes her more evil.
So a little recap: Yes, they both killed their fathers. Yes, they both murdered one of Emma’s grandparents. Yes, their evil deeds were spurred by revenge. If you look at just the surface then the premise that Killian Jones is a male version of Regina Mills may be accurate. But if you look a little further you see there are not only significant differences but that Killian Jones comes out looking a hell of a lot better with a more complete character evolution.
Killian’s Change vs Regina’s
As I briefly mentioned in my opening, this is where the blogger pulls the “child-parent love is the only path to redemption” nonsense. Now, this blogger isn’t the first, or maybe they were the first, but I have heard this sentiment not only from Evil Regals but from the KnightRook fandom as well. Since they believe that Wish Hook abandoning his daughter to go get drunk and plot murder and rape (and none of that ever being addressed) is good enough to make him father of the year and claim his five second redemption complete.
It’s honestly 100% completely false.
The only things you need for a character redemption are:
Taking responsibility for your actions without blaming others
apologizing to your victim
showing a change of heart
learning from your mistakes
remedy the situation if possible
and in the terms of a fictional world where we’re talking about magic, murder and other heinous crimes the villain MUST:
Make a sacrifice for the greater good. That means something beyond the character’s immediate loved ones or something that would benefit them.
All of this can happen without the love of a child. Though I will say, love of some kind usually plays a part.
So between Regina and Killian, which one checked off all or most of this list? Killian Jones.
1. Taking Responsibility for your actions without blaming others
Regina blamed everyone else but herself! In fact, the evil queen becomes a separate entity to blame so Regina can become innocent of all wrong doings and get a happy ending. She may have admitted to “torture and unspeakable things” but the times she outright blames others for her actions without owning up outweighs maybe the two times she mentions it. Especially since when she mentions her deeds its when she’s crying about her happy ending. So, no, I am sorry, Regina never owned her mistakes, never had a moment where she expressed deep regret for her victims and never came to a realization that she really doesn’t deserve anything.
There isn’t a single time throughout the course of this show where Killian blames someone else for what he has done. He owned up to his part in taking Milah away from Rumple and their son. Blames himself for what Gold had him do. He has come clean about where his rings come from. It took him a moment to face his demons but he did come to the realization that he needed to face David. There was the phone call to Emma in s4. He doesn’t even blame Emma for his weakness at being unable to fight the darkness at first. He doesn’t even blame the darkness but his own weakness! There are times he might have been ashamed which is human but he never blames his deeds as if someone else was responsible.
Killian: 1
Regina: 0
2. Apologizing to your Victim
Killian Jones apologized to Ariel, Ursula, Belle, David, and Emma.
Regina’s serum half apologized to Snow but that was after some of the evil had been drained from her heart. And no, I do not count the time Regina apologized to Belle to get Belle to do something for her.
Killian: 2 Regina: 0
3. Remedy the situation
Killian Jones made things right with Ursula and then stood by Belle when she wanted refuge from Rumple. He dedicated time to help saving the fairies after he fell victim to Gold (something he blames himself for and not Gold). He also tried to make things right with Neal though Neal acted like a self-righteous ass just like his father. Sorry pal but he who sends underage girlfriend to jail for your crimes then yells at her when she didn’t immediately tell you you had a son puts you on my “asshole” list! Killian’s other victims were long since gone but we at least know he’d make amends if he could.
Regina still owns a whole vault full of hearts and I am going to once again say she let the Charmings sacrifice for her in S6! Did she ever even do anything for Maleficent? I don’t think she did! And she certainly never helped Belle. Maybe you could count the Season 3 curse she casts but really she had no other choice so I can’t in good conscious give that one to her. Nor the thing at the well in S2 since that was Henry’s doing. Really what did she remedy that wasn’t for her own personal gain?
Killian: 3 Regina: 0
4. Showing a change of heart
We have Killian Jones literally taking pages out of Emma’s book and a whole episode of him talking David out of revenge. He becomes a Dark One with all of this power yet he gives it up and never seeks it again. He is tortured in the Underworld and refuses to even write the name of his life long enemy. Gone are his wise cracks, sexual innuendo and much of his bravado. Past S4a we see a much more humble Killian Jones that is reluctant to even call himself a hero.
Regina does stop murdering people but I can’t give her this one either. Why you might ask? She says so herself that she hates doing good which to me means she has not had a true change of heart. She remains verbally abusive and looks down on others. She may no longer murder you if you tick her off but she does so figuratively with her words and actions.
Killian: 4 Regina: 0
5. Learning from your Mistakes
I think Killian shows that he has with the way he helps Emma and David. When Emma is angry with her parents over keeping the past from her, Killian is able to approach Emma in a way that portrays his familiarity with what they are feeling and knowing how to talk to Emma. Then you have his interactions with David in the S6 episode where David wants revenge on his father. Killian knows where seeking revenge leads you. And we know that he has learned enough to be very uncomfortable about keeping all of this from Emma.
Regina, Regina, Regina. Let me point right to Season 7 when she teaches Ivy dark magic and gives her mother’s evil book to Robyn. Its like she has literally learned nothing. But Regina really hasn’t had to learn from her mistakes because all of her mistakes were either erased (her abuse of Henry) or were blamed on others (Rumple, Snow, the book and the evil queen)
Killian: 5 Regina: 0
6. Making a Sacrifice for the Greater Good
Only Killian Jones sacrificed his life and was tortured to save everyone and the town by ending the darkness forever.
Killian: Hits every point. Regina: fell way behind.

Why did she want to though? It wasn’t to “do the right thing”. She hated doing the right thing. Her motivation was to keep Henry and to get a happy ending. The moment she sent her lover and his “wife” across the town line she sought out to get what she felt she deserved: her story re-written. She didn’t even pause to consider that she in fact didn’t deserve that at all. And her goal was never to become a better person. It was not to make things right with her victims. It was for herself. This is evident because she keeps her vault of hearts and continues to treat all of the other characters as lesser than her. The character has no growth! Except to “stop murdering”. That was it!
Aside from sending the Hoods across the town line, I can’t think of another moment Regina “tried to do good even when she had nothing”? This blog gave no instances. Does the blogger mean at the town line in S3? When Regina had to or be cursed herself? Don’t care! When else? She didn’t do it when the Charmings were facing her serum half. She didn’t do the right thing in S4 when she was treating Emma like crap and blaming Emma for what she herself caused. So I am at a loss here.

USING ALLEGED POPULARITY AS A MEASURING TOOL

So because some fan wrote some biased drivel on a fan submitted TV “news” site… it’s a fact? Articles from Screen Rant do not reflect the general audience.
Let’s follow with this fact: Regina had the most screen time from S4-S7ep12. The show was cancelled that first half of Season 7. Do the math.
If Regina carried it then she’s responsible for those numbers and could not keep the show afloat once CaptainSwan and Snowing were gone. The show FAILED with her as a lead.
Now maybe if Regina had left and CaptainSwan had stayed the same thing would have happened. But you can’t point to fan biased articles and loud obnoxious twitter users as being representative of live audience views. Did you poll the audience? I think not.
The fact is that CaptainSwan is still being talked about today. Long after the show has ended there are still articles being generated about Emma Swan and Killian Jones both separately and together. Most of these are also fan generated but some aren’t. It is my belief judging by the content we see being produced that general audiences tend to gravitate more towards real heroes like Emma Swan, good hearted pirates like Killian Jones and love stories like CaptainSwan that show how far two people are willing to go for each other. Emma Swan and Killian Jones were a much bigger draw for your average audience viewer than Regina who spent most of the time crying about her own happiness (which is disgusting when you think about the magnitudes of her crimes).

Yes, yes we did. Season 4 was an entire struggle for him. He also showed regret when he slipped (the phone call to Emma, him trying to free the fairies, his shame over not helping Ariel, regret over keeping the scissors in s6, shame over how he handled finding out he killed David’s father).
When did Regina struggle? Hell, she’d have re-killed Marian if she thought she could’ve gotten away with it! Whenever Regina does something wrong something or someone else always gets the blame for it.

This piece spends a whole lot of time on how quickly Killian & Emma fell in love… but makes no mention how fast the Charmings forgave the woman that ruined their lives? And all she had to do to earn that forgiveness was admit she’s a sociopath that didn’t regret anything! How is that believable? It isn't.

The above occurred during the twitter conversation I had with the person who wrote the hit piece on Killian.
So because you think an arc was supposed to be about Emma you think you can just toss what happened aside? It doesn’t work like that. Whether you like what happened or not it still happened. And that right there is another prime example of why this piece is biased. You can’t toss out facts simply because you don’t like them then write some nonsense and say its all fact based. It clearly isn’t!
After saying everything I’ve said above I leave you with this final thought:
Between Regina and Killian, Killian was the only one to receive a complete redemption arc and possibly the only one that could since Regina’s crimes were beyond heinous. So the fact that the show tried to say she is redeemed without showing her redemption actually makes her the Walmart version of a villain to hero. Why is that? They thought she was too popular to kill off and killing her off was the only way for an unrepentant child abusing mass murdering rapist that never showed remorse or apologized and continued to be a bully gets any kind of redemption. She had to die for the greater good. But she didn’t.

About Sophie's 10 Wishes - understandable, the thing that was kept secret shouldn't have been a secret for that long. I don't agree with how that was handled at all.
Seduced By The Rhythm I thought was okay, the competition parts were fun but the sister relationship system in book 3 was a bit annoying to me and overall I felt pretty ambivalent about the LIs as datable characters and enjoyed them more as teammates and friends. Orlando made me want to smack him though lol.
And Ough. Amrit. Yes. Normally I love the soulmate trope, and I do really like Amrit as a character, but on a personal level he annoys me so much. Like the arrogance is *somewhat* justified and the distrust is *definitely* justified, him continuing to call Amala wife or fiancée (yes I know he continued to call her that to purposely annoy/antagonize her and it sure did work on me!!) or whatever after he's been rejected drove me nuts lmao like give it a rest. You know you're hot shit and have the pick of literally anyone else, so get over it already. You were intrigued over an idea and not Amala herself (Obviously this grows into real love for who she is on his route but I digress. Also, I understand that her not falling to her feet to please him is part of her appeal to him too though.) I'm also not a fan of the bickering/fiery couple trope either.
So yeah, it's Ratan for me I love the immortal x mortal, immortal falls in love for the first time, and immortal gives up eternal life to be with their mortal beloved tropes a whole lot. Plus he's always respectful, and actually accepts her friendship with Killian and Lima. Plus his epilogue with Amala on the Rage of the Goddess path is so cute. 🥰❤️✨ And of course all their other romance moments are A+ for me.
We both know why we love Liam and Selena and why~
I do also love Shadows of Saintfour, pretty much the only piece of horror media I wholeheartedly enjoy. I do like Aaron and did a playthrough with him, Luke and Derek make the most narrative sense and I do like them so I liked their routes, though my favourite was actually John/William. I didn't like that we could only save Luke if we were dating or broke up at the very last second and not also if you only took all the friend options. I wish Stephanie got more character development so I could like her more. I love the friend group and, predictably, Michael annoyed me.
I'm actually replaying Sins of London right now - first time I picked Sherlock, and this time I'm romancing Glashtyn. I love Abigail, she's adorable and. Gray annoys me. (Are you sensing a pattern yet? Lmao)
I LOVE Love From Outer Space, and of course I love Amber with Ray the best, though I do like her with the others except for Ursula. Because I absolutely ship Ursula with that redhead, can't remember her name right now. They'd be so cute as a couple. But yeah, I also love that entire friend group.
Of course, I also love Flame of Samsara so far, and right now I'm shipping Devi with Ram, my second playthrough will be with Ian. Also, I didn't think Kairas would die this soon in the book, I thought he'd make it to the last or second last chapter of book one. Apparently not though.
Garden of Eden I really like so far, the author also wrote On Thin Ice so I knew that this is going to be another quality story - and I have not been disappointed so far. I'm stuck between wanting to romance Castiel or the actor first.
As for Time Catcher, the plot feels a little slow to me so far, and I don't find myself wanting to romance any of the introduced LIs, a phenomenon which is even rarer than me wanting to romance all of them lol.
For the MCs that can be renamed, I do change their names 80% of the time.

Hi! I am a HUGE Captain Swan fan! What are the main reasons why you love Captain Swan/Hook?

I AM A HUGE CS FAN AS WELL SO THIS ASK IS THE BEST THING EVER
Okay there are maaaany reasons that i cant all put here but i guess i will put what comes to mind rn
1- They just understand each other on another level. If you pay attention they almost never judge the other's actions (and boi there is a lot to judge if we are honest jsbdksjs) and they just GET IT you know?? They didn't have exactly the same lives but they went through their own shit in life and its like even before they got together they had an unspoken understanding of each other that they didnt experience with anybody else. As much as Emma's family loves her, there ARE things that they just can't really get. And in Killian's case nobody sees the true him as much as Emma does, no matter what horrible things he did in his past.
2- They are not a constantly on and off relationship. TECHNICALLY once they got together they never broke up. That one time in s6 is debatable. Yes she gave him the ring back BUT SHE DIDNT SAY IT WAS OVER and then Killian was taken away. AND LIKE EVEN WITH ALL THE DARK ONE STUFF THEY NEVER ACTUALLY BROKE UP??? So yeah they really stayed together throughout double darkness, like 3 deaths and a shit ton of villains. Even if they had fights or problems they didnt end the relationship on a whim, they worked through their problems and came out stronger AND I LOVE THEM FOR THAT. Also i hate on and off couples ejbfjdbdj its so annoying.
3- THE PATIENCE FAM. THEY WERE SO PATIENT WITH EACH OTHER. AND SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT IT WAS ONLY KILLIAN BECAUSE HE WAITED FOR HER, NO! Emma was also patient in many aspects, especially as they became more serious and Killian had many demons to fight both from his past and his present, and she really didnt pressure him into laying out all his troubled past on the table. She allowid him to take his time and tell her things on his own time (like the Ursula thing).
4- THE TRUUUUUUUUUST. There was so much trust in their relationship it kills me. AND YES THEY HAD THEIR TRUST ISSUES WITH THE WHOLE DARK ONES THING BUT COME ON. Honestly i dont think its fair to judge Dark Captain Swan as normal Captain Swan bc it REALLY isnt the same. Outside that time, they really had the deepest trust in each other. AND WE KNOW ITS NOT EASY FOR THEM TO TRUST, especially Emma. But my girl REFUSED to let people talk shit about Killian because she TRUSTED him so much and knew that he wouldnt betray or hurt them even before they got together. (Also that episode where killian is taken in s6 and Emma IMMEDIATELY GIVES UP ON HIM AND THINKS HE ABANDONED HER is absolute bullshit. At that point in their relationship she wouldnt act like that fuck the writers for that one)
5- They are hot together. Period. No need to elaborate.
6- THE TENDERNESS UGHHHHHH THEY WERE ACTUALLY SO SWEET ??? HE IS A DEADLY PIRATE AND FORMER VILLAIN AND SHE IS A HIDE MY EMOTIONS KINDA TOUGH GIRL but they were surprisingly very sweet and tender with each other which was very refreshing to see. Outside Dark CS they werent toxic or like constantly arguing and yelling and being rough with each other and i love them for being so sweet.
7- When they did fuck up it was out of love for the other. I think 99% of times they fucked up was because they were trying to protect the other and if thats not true love idk what is.
8- They never gave up on each other. Never. (Emma in that one episode doesnt count that was EXTREMELY out of character). They were SO willing to fight for each other as a couple and as individuals (before and after getting together).
Okay these are some of the maaaaany reasons.
I see that you also asked me about Hook and bc i dont wanna pay attention in class then i will also tell you what i love about him.
1- Colin. Yes. He is a big part of what makes Killian Jones and why i love him and if it was another actor it could have changed everything.
2- Has THE BEST redemption arc in the show by far. Argue with the wall, thats how i feel. He never justified his actions or try to pin them on "his past self". Yes he is a changed man but the SAME man who did those things and he always carries that guilt with him (sometimes too much). But most importantly, he always works SO hard to make up for those mistakes by both apologising and through actions, actively trying to make amends.
3- The man is fearless. He doesn't give a shit. He will fight anyone to get what he want even when he is clearly at a disadvantage. Respect man haahjsjajsjsnd
4- When he loves... oof he loves so deeply. I dont even have to explain. We see it. He fell HARD man.
5- He is not afraid to show his emotions. Most of the time he wears his heart out on his sleeve, especially when it comes to Emma, even if he gets rejected. That is honestly admirable, wish i could do that lol, it takes bravery.
6- Do i hate him for dying all the time? Yes. Do i also freaking love him for sacrifising himself for the people he loves? Damn right.
7- HIS FRIENDSHIP WITH BELLE 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
8- HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HENRY 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

This guy is just... so strong to have survived what he survived, to have lived how he lived. So incredibly kind and selfless and... I just love him, your honor.
7. Percy Jackson | PJO & Heroes of Olympus - Rick Riordan
Another book love. I love these books so much. I believe these are the first books I ever fully read in English?? Because the Spanish fan translations were terrible skjfdns. So, it pushed me to make my English better, for which I'm incredibly grateful.
And look at him. He's gorgeous. And also sarcastic and dorky. Do I have a type? Yes.

Dear readers, it was a surprise to see a face we’d long forgot about make her debut at last nights dashing ball at Danbury house.
Miss (Y/n) (Y/l/n) shook the social season within the first night by making her first appearance in almost 11 years. Word is that Lady (Y/l/n) remarried Lord Winslow and this has sparked her only daughters debut into society. After spending the previous 11 years off the coast of Kent, doing whatever it is widows do, Lady Winslow met Lord Winslow after a foolish incident left Lady Winslow in a ditch. Fortunate for her Lord Winslow passed by in his carriage and swept the widow off her feet.
However, Miss (Y/l/n)’s appearance wasn’t the only surprising event last night but the fact the young girl had secured the attention of not one but two Bridgerton Bachelors. Bear in mind that the youngest Bachelor, Colin Bridgerton, is currently off travelling Europe and so didn’t have the chance for his head to be turned by our fresh faced debutant.
Will Miss (Y/l/n) receive the pleasure of a call from the two well sought after gentleman? We will only find out over the coming days, dear readers.
“Mama?” You entered the breakfast room with Lady Whistledown’s paper in your hand.
Your mother was sat at the head of the table with a bowl of fresh fruit and a pot of tea.
Lord Winslow had been called out to his estate in the country for an emergency just as you had returned last night with your mother. He said he would only be gone a couple days but it had not even been 12 hours and your mother already looked lonely as ever.
You were lucky that Lord Winslow was a kind man. He really did love your mother and your mother loved him. Your mother had never loved your father, that you knew for certain and so it was wonderful to see your mother so happy with Lord Winslow.
You knew he didn’t particularly like you but he was a kind and fair man who had paid for all of your new clothes, shoes and settled you with a fair sum of a dowery.
“Mama, have you seen this?” You handed her the paper. “Lady Whistledown has dedicated a whole page just to us. She’s gone from reminding everyone of father’s scandal to how you met Lord Winslow and reporting of my arrival at the ball last night.”
Your mother picked up the paper and started to read it.
You sat beside her at the breakfast table and thanked the servants for bringing you over some hot oats. You sprinkled some fruit on top before pouring yourself an orange juice, all the while, your mother read.
“Of course she should mention the Bridgerton men. If you could catch one of them then I'd never have to worry about funds ever again.” Your mother put the paper down and took another sip of her tea.
“Mother, you have Lord Winslow who will always make sure you live comfortably. You don’t need me to go off and marry some Baron––”
“––But a viscount would be nice.” You mother quickly added.
“The Viscount Bridgerton is very well known for being a rake. I doubt he’ll be proposing anytime soon to anyone. I’m sure he only danced with me last night because his mother probably asked as she did recognise me.” You dismissed your mothers high hopes.
“Ah yes. Violet told me that she had invited you for tea. She invited me over, of course, but I’d rather not be too social this season with everyone asking questions about our situation before Lord Winslow.”
Your mother hadn’t worked before she met Lord Winslow. You brought in any extra funds by being a lady’s companion and your mother budgeted as she could the small amount of money her brother in law had given you both after the death of his brother/your father.
Your mother had never been the most friendly socialite of the ton even before your father’s death. More often than not she rejected invitations for tea or musicales and only showed up to the larger events the ton threw.
Your mother wasn’t particular friendly to anyone except Lord Winslow. Even you had a strange relationship.
Your mother was one of the eldest Mama’s amongst the girls your age. She had struggled to produce children for years and then eventually she stopped trying until one day on one anniversary she fell pregnant and it held.
She had prayed for a son to give your father an heir but she was blessed with you instead.
She had never been cruel or negligent but she never had that particular spark for maternal love.
Your father loved gambling more than he loved anyone or anything so paternal love was something you lacked during your childhood.
Nonetheless, you were glad your mother was happy now.
“There’s gifts for you in the drawing room before I forget to tell you.”
“Gifts?” You felt your heart flutter in excitement and before your mother could say anymore, you were already rushing to the drawing room.
You opened the door to see the room full of flowers.
Roses, hyacinths, camellias, carnations, peonies, sweet peas.... and more.
“My goodness.” You barely breathed the words as your hand shot to your mouth in delight.
“They’ve all come for you this morning, Miss.” Lottie, your lady’s maid, beamed at you.
“There’s so many.” You whispered to her with a bright smile.
“Lady Whistledown did name you the seasons incomparable, Miss!” Lottie reminded you. It was something you didn’t say aloud to your mother but Whistledown did write that after mentioning the Bridgerton brothers.
“May I be left to myself, Lottie, so I can read the notes.” You asked her politely to which she replied with a smile and a servants nod.
“I already told cook to prepare some biscuits but would you like anything else before I go?” Lottie asked.
“Biscuits?” You furrowed your eyebrows at the maid.
“For your callers.” Lottie blushed a little as she smiled at you.
“Callers! I’d forgotten! Oh Lottie, I need you to run upstairs and get my pearl earrings instead of these and I’d love some tea as well.” You had a sudden panic to want to look perfect. Lottie took the earrings you had taken out and bowed out of the room at your request.
You started around the room, smiling at each cheesy note from different suitors. Some you had danced with last night but most you hadn’t even spoken to.
You stopped when you spotted a beautiful bouquet of white roses with several pickings of wisteria.
‘You used to love the flowers at the front of the horse in spring time. I had to include them to remind you.
Yours, Benedict.’
You cradled the purple flower in your hand and breathed in the scent of the roses and wisteria.
You had no idea Benedict knew of that.
Lottie returned with your earrings and your tea.
“That’s a lovely bunch, Miss.” Lottie commented as you stood beside Benedict’s bouquet.
“Isn’t it?” You found yourself wishing to visit the house sooner than later but you knew you’d probably have callers and your trip would have to wait.
Your mother soon retired to the drawing room to act as chaperone as she expected callers sooner than later.
She scolded you for taking too long to read the notes on the flowers and soon you found yourself sat on the settee with a book of poetry and your embroidery beside you in case your mother looked up from her own stitch work.
It wasn’t long until the first caller arrived.
And then another.
And another.
Your whole morning was filled with short meetings of many suitors. More than you had expected.
The flower collection grew as more suitors came with their own bouquets rather than deliveries.
There was chocolates from Belgium and macaroons from France.
Your mother seemed happy with some of the more wealthy men and slightly less welcoming with the less fortunate. Her side glances to you said more than words ever could.
The morning all together was exhausting.... But no Bridgertons...
“Where are you off to?” Violet peered up from her cup of tea as she caught Anthony passing the door.
“Is it really any of your business mother?” Anthony questioned as he took several steps back so he was in the doorway. A bouquet of flowers hidden behind his back.
“If it’s off to see Miss (Y/l/n), I’d hold off.” Violet’s eyes met her sons and he could sense a fraction of worry there. “Your brother just left to do the same thing.”
“Benedict.” Anthony didn’t question whether it was Benedict but rather stated his name in a knowing voice.
“Miss (Y/l/n) may be new to society but she isn’t some play doll for the men of the ton to use and set aside like her mother had been.” Violet couldn’t help but feel an anger grow inside of her. She had cared for the girl when she was at a young age and she felt a sudden protectiveness grow over her now.
“I do not intend to corrupt her if that’s what you think, Mother.” Anthony said flatly. Slightly hurt that his mother had insinuated it.
“Then what do you intend to do? Marry her?” Violet’s question lingered in the air as Anthony clenched his jaw.
Anthony didn’t really know why he was going to call on the girl. Was he really. interested in courting her or did he just want to be near her for some reason?
“Good afternoon, Mother.” Anthony excused himself and left Bridgerton house.
He decided to walk so that he would miss Benedict by the time he’d arrive if he took the long route through the park. It was a sunny day after all.
“Mr Bridgerton to see Miss (Y/l/n).” The butler, Killian, had announced.
You rose from your seat and smiled politely as you watched Benedict enter behind him.
“Miss (Y/l/n).” Benedict took hold of your fingers and brushed a light kiss on top. “You look lovely this morning.”
“Thank you, Lord Bridgeton.” You greeted him back with a short curtsy. “I also must thank you for your bouquet!” You suddenly remember, walking over to them and lightly brushing your fingers under the wisteria.
“Mothers tip if I’m being honest.” Benedict told you as he held his hands behind his back.
You looked up at the man with bright eyes that he couldn’t help but look back into.
“Please tell Lady Bridgerton I will be round for tea as soon as possible.” You pushed down your excitement to remain as ladylike as you could.
“I’m sure Daphne will be glad to see you looking so well too.” Benedict let his eyes drop down your dress momentarily. You caught him doing so and felt your cheeks go pink under his gaze.
“I am looking forward to seeing my old playmate.” You spoke, hoping your voce wouldn't fail you and crack.
“I was hoping, Miss (Y/l/n), if you would do me the honour in promenading with me tomorrow morning through Hyde park?” Benedict inquired with hopeful eyes.
You looked back to your Mama who nodded in reply.
“Yes, that would be very agreeable.” You couldn’t help but let your smile grow when Benedict’s lips spread into one of his lopsided grins.
“I am looking forward to it.” Benedict took hold of your hand and pressed it to his lips once again.
However, this time, his lips lingered on the fabric of your glove. His eyes meeting yours as they did.
You hadn’t noticed you’d stopped breathing until the man lowered your hand.
“If you will excuse us, Mr Bridgerton but I have some business to take care of this afternoon so I’m afraid this call will have to come to a close until tomorrow.” Your mother stood and held her hand out towards the door.
“It’s been a pleasure, Lady Winslow. Miss (Y/l/n).” Benedict bid himself adieu leaving you and your mother alone.
“If anyone callers arrive then do not grant them access until I am back.” Your mother left the room, assumably to use the chamberpot with the amount of tea she’d been drinking that morning.
You wrapped your arms around yourself as you looked down at Benedict’s flowers once more.
You felt yourself yawn as you suddenly realised just how tired you were.
“Being the most desired girl in the ton can be exhausting, can’t it, Miss (Y/l/n)?” A familiar voice startled you as someone entered without being announced.
“Lord Bridgerton!” You clutched your chest as you caught your breath.
“Miss (Y/l/n).” Anthony smirked.
“How did you get in?” You asked, looking past him to where Killian should have been standing.
“Your butler answered the door and then there was a crashing noice and he pointed me to this door and so here I am.” He explained, opening his arms to show himself.
That’s when you noticed the bouquet. Not one. But two.
“Here, there are for you and your mother.” Anthony offered you the bouquet as he watched you spot them.
“We shouldn’t be here unchaperoned.” You suddenly felt panicked for some reason.
“The door is open. I’m sure your mama won’t be long.” Anthony took a deeper step into the room and place the bouquets on the table.
“They’re beautiful. Thank you.” You examined them from a careful distance.
“I believe I saw my brother leaving here from up the street.” Anthony told you as he placed his hands behind his back.
“Ah.” You nodded, “Yes, he was here but moments ago.”
Anthony cocked his eyebrow with an amused look on his face.
“We were just talking about your mother and your sister. Your mother has invited me for tea and I told Benedict to tell your mother that I’ll be round to see her as soon as I can.” You found yourself rambling.
“You are welcome in Bridgerton house any time.” Anthony extended the invitation as the Viscount.
“Thank you.” You nodded politely. “So what has brought you to visit me today?”
It was a stupid question but anything to fill the silence.
“Well after tonight, I rather felt like seeing you again.” Anthony rocked on his heels as he spoke, scrunching his face as if he’d just thought of it.
He was teasing you and you knew it.
“Is that so?” You tilted your head up slightly with a smile. “It’s not often, I hear, that Anthony Bridgerton visits any lady of respectability after spending the night with her.” The words had come out before you could stop them and Anthony found himself laughing as you tried not to blush.
“That is where you are wrong. I do not spend my nights with any respectable ladies.” Anthony knew you were playing a game. He would never had responded this way unless he wanted to push your buttons.
“Ah yes. Opera singers, actresses and such, isn’t it? At least that’s what I hear from Whistledown nowadays.” You thought yourself cheeky.
“So you believe everything Whistledown writes?” Anthony asked, stepping closer to you again.
“Everything she has written so far has been correct.” You defended your answer.
“From the look of this room, I fear she may be correct about one thing at least.”Anthony gestured to all the flowers.
“And that is?” You followed his gesture.
“That you are the seasons incomparable. Perhaps the incomparable of any season thus.” Anthony’s compliment made you catch your breath in your throat.
“Ah! Mr Bridgerton. I hope I hadn't left you waiting too long.” Your mother interrupted at just the right time.
“Unfortunately, Mrs Winslow, I must be off now. I only came by to give these to Miss (Y/l/n) and yourself.” Anthony picked up the bouquet and handed to your mother before allowing himself to approach you.
Your eyes met his as he handed you the flowers.
His finger touched your own as he passed the bouquet over and you broke eye contact to retreat slightly. Not that your mother had noticed.
“Good afternoon, Mr Bridgerton.” You said quickly.
“Good afternoon, Miss (y/l/n).” Anthony kissed your hand like he had before as has his brother.

What a Lovely Way to Burn, or, Killian Learns the Upsides of a Storybrooke Heat Wave
Pairing: Duh! Captain Swan (with a generous helping of Captain Cobra Swan)
Rating: T–although Killian is definitely having very M or even E rated thoughts .
Genre: Season 3b canon divergence–I realize it was winter during 3b, but for this story’s purposes, I needed a very not-winterlike heat wave.
Summary: Written for the un-official CS Heatwave event several CS writers have decided to engage in given the heatwave that much of the US is facing right now. After returning to Storybrooke after the missing year, there's a lull in the search for the Wicked Witch on one of the hottest days of the year. Emma, Killian and Henry decide to take advantage of the downtime by going to the beach.

Killian frowned fiercely as he felt a bead of sweat make its way down his back beneath his thin, cotton shirt. He’d long since shed his leather duster and even the vest beneath. Damn this infernal heat!
Had Swan brought him back to Storybrooke in that yellow vessel of hers, or to the pits of hell? Being a seaside burg, he’d been under the impression he was in for a temperate climate.
He had most assuredly been under the wrong impression.
This morning, when he’d ventured from his room into the common area of Granny's establishment, one of the other guests had turned on the moving picture box (the TV, he believed he’d heard someone call it), and a man stood before a map of the area and detailed the weather they could expect for the day.
“ Well folks, we’re in for a hot one, ” he said. “A heat wave of epic proportions is set to hit the Storybrooke metropolitan area today. Temperatures are expected to hit the high nineties. We might even hit triple digits! We haven’t seen weather like this since the curse broke–the first curse, that is. I have no idea what the weather was like during the missing year, mainly because I have no idea about anything during the missing year.”
Killian shook his head as he sipped at his morning coffee. First wicked witches, then flying monstrosities, and now a heat wave. Why had he ever come back from the Enchanted Forest?
Emma walked from the back room into the diner, her arm slung around her lad and a lovely smile on her face. Ah yes. This was why.
He’d endure far more than a hot day in order to be with her.
“Hey, Killian!” Henry said, hurrying over to his booth and taking a seat. “You guys making any progress on the skip you’re chasing?”
Killian hurriedly moved his left arm under the table so as to hide his hook from the lad. He knew Swan wished to keep up the ruse, as Henry’s memories had yet to return, but he wondered how much longer they could keep him in the dark. There were, after all, flying monkeys about, and Henry was a perceptive lad. He was bound to figure out something was amiss sooner or later.
Emma reached the table, face reddening. “Henry! You can’t just intrude on someone’s breakfast!”
Killian waved to the other side of the booth where Henry had already taken up residence. “It’s no intrusion, love. You both are more than welcome to join me.”
She smiled gratefully at him, before sliding into the booth. “Looks like it’s gonna be a hot one today,” she said, glancing up at the TV.
“Aye,” Killian said with a grimace. “So it would seem.”
“Hey Mom! Are you gonna be busy with your case all day?” Henry asked excitedly. “Maybe if you guys have a little extra time, we could go swim at the beach!”
Emma shrugged. “I mean, we’re kind of at a standstill right now. No sign of the Wick–uh, I mean the skip. I don’t see why we couldn’t get some beach time in. What do you think, Killian? Wanna join us?”
Killian’s smile lit up his entire face. “I’d be delighted.”

By the time their beach excursion began, Killian was rethinking his state of mind. She was trying to kill him. There was no doubt about it. She was trying to burn him alive with desire–in a way that was most certainly not appropriate with her lad about.
It all started about an hour after breakfast ended and Killian, Emma,, and Henry went their separate ways. Swan had knocked on his door and presented him with the strangest article of clothing he had ever seen. They appeared to be short pants of some sort, but never had he seen pants like these. They were a deep, royal purple, and throughout were drawings of songbirds. Across the arse was emblazoned the single word “Charming”.
“So, I figured you probably didn’t have any swimming trunks,” she said, her tone a touch self-conscious. “I asked David if he had any spares, and he gave me these. Apparently Mary Margaret had them custom made to reflect who he is or something, and when I told him they were for you, he thought it would be hilarious. Told me to take pictures.”
“I’m…I’m meant to wear this to go bathing in your realm?” he asked, holding the abomination of an article of clothing between two fingers and pouring over it.
“I mean…you can’t exactly swim in your leathers,” she said.
He grinned saucily at her, playfully wiggling his eyebrows. “I could always not wear my leathers.”
She rolled her eyes, grinning and shoving him playfully. “Yeah, let’s try not to traumatize my son any more than we have to. Plus public nudity’s a crime. I’d rather not have to arrest you on my day off.”
He chuckled. How he’d missed this–the flirting, the playful teasing. He’d missed everything about her, but he’d especially missed how buoyant she made his spirits.
“Very well,” he conceded. “In the interest of not corrupting your son–and not seeing the inside of your brig–I shall wear these–what did you call them?--swim trunks. But what manner of shirt am I meant to wear?”
She looked flustered at that, averting her eyes. “Uh…well, most guys just wear the trunks and no shirt.”
He grinned again. “Why Swan, I’m shocked. If you wished me to get half-naked for you, all you had to do was ask.”
She rolled her eyes again.
Suddenly it occurred to Killian that he had one more difficulty that most men of this realm did not. He reached up to scratch behind his ear. “But what am I meant to do about this?”
He waved his hooked arm before her.
“Well, I mean, you can leave the brace and cuff on if you want,” Emma said, “but Killian, you can also take it off.”
“I rather doubt you wish to be subjected to the sight of my stump, love,” he said in a small voice, eyes looking at the carpeting. “The wound had to be cauterized and stitched quickly, and I’m afraid it is rather unsightly.”
She was silent for a moment, and then she reached up, turning his face toward her. “You don’t have to be ashamed of your missing hand, Hook. You know that, right? Neither Henry, nor I care about your stump. It’s just a part of you.”
He felt warmth suffuse him. Though he didn’t have Swan’s superpower for detecting lies, there was no doubt that she spoke with absolute sincerity and conviction. “Thank you for that.”
“Welcome,” she said breezily, “although I can’t guarantee Henry won’t ask you awkward questions about amputation. He is a twelve-year-old, after all. I’ll talk to him about appropriate topics of conversation.”
Killian chuckled. “I’m well aware of the inquisitiveness of the pre-teen lad. Not to worry, Swan.”
They stood smiling at each other for a moment, and if Killian didn’t know better, he’d have believed Emma wished for his company–perhaps even wished for a repeat of the kiss he’d tried at her apartment door (preferably without the knee to his nether regions this time). But after a moment, she seemed to think better of it, shaking her head slightly and taking a step back.
“Yeah, so I’m going to get Granny to put together a picnic for all of us. Meet out in front of the diner in, say, half an hour? We can take the bug down to the docks.”
“Sounds good, love.”
Seeing the blatant look of interest–maybe even want–in Swan’s eyes when he emerged from the diner and headed toward her vehicle almost made it worth his while to wear these absolute travesties of “swim trunks”.
“Like what you see, love?” he purred as he reached her, standing tall so his chest–bare of all but a generous peppering of hair–showed to full display.
Her cheeks reddened, and she stammered, “Just get in the car, Hook. Henry’s waiting.”
Apparently the lass was so flustered she couldn’t even come up with her normal witty repartee.
He grinned as he obeyed and got into her vehicle, but his grin turned to a groan when she reached over to help him with the buckle of the car’s restraint and her hand brushed his chest. Had the temperature suddenly risen even higher?
But it wasn’t until they reached the beach that Killian realized he was in serious danger of spontaneous combustion before this day was at an end.
While the lad ran toward the water, ready to frolic, Killian helped Swan spread colorful towels along the sand, and then she reached for the hem of the short, rather formless bathing dress she wore, and before he could divine what she was about, she pulled it up over her head, displaying far more creamy white skin than he had ever expected to see outside of his lurid daydreams. Indeed, she was clad only in two tiny swaths of fabric which left very little to his imagination.
Killian felt his jaw drop.
“Like what you see, Hook?” she asked, turning his own question back upon him.
For a moment he merely swallowed hard, unable to speak, sure his desire for this woman would consume him whole.
“It’s…” he began, voice squeaking like an inexperienced lad. He cleared his throat. “It’s rather…daring, isn’t it?”
She laughed, before sitting gracefully on her towel and rummaging in the bag she’d brought with her. “It’s called a bikini,” she said, “and I had my suspicions you may like it.”
“Is this the customary attire for women of this realm when bathing?”
She shrugged. “For some. Others like a one-piece suit, or some combination of the two. Have I shocked you, Hook? I never would have taken Captain Hook for a prude.”
He scoffed, before looking her slowly up and down in a way that brought the heat to her cheeks. “A prude I am not. I’m just not accustomed to seeing a woman in this state of undress outside of the bedchamber.”
“So my question remains,” she said, leaning toward him. “Like what you see?”
He groaned again. “Gods, yes.”
Henry took that moment to reappear. Probably for the best. The thoughts Killian was having were hardly conducive to a public place. “Hey guys, hurry up! The water’s perfect!”
“Hold on just a second before you go running off again,” Emma chided, reaching once again into her bag and pulling out a plastic bottle. “Don’t forget the sunscreen.”
Killian watched curiously as Swan opened the bottle and squirted a generous dollop of white, coconut scented cream onto her hand and then began applying it to the lad’s skin.
“What precisely is sunscreen?” he asked curiously.
“You don’t know what sunscreen is?” Henry asked with a raised eyebrow. “It keeps you from getting a sunburn.”
Killian felt his face reddening yet again. “I’ve lived a rather sheltered life, I suppose.”
Swan snorted. “A swashbuckling pirate leading a sheltered life? That’ll be the day.”
“A pirate?” Henry asked, turning to him with eager eyes. “You were a pirate?”
“Er…” he said, looking at Swan, unsure how he was meant to answer that.
“Uh–yeah,” Emma said. “Didn’t I tell you, Henry? Killian, um, well, he does this pirate reenactment show thing on a ship. That’s why he was dressed like that.”
For a woman with the ability to spot lies, she was hopeless herself at prevarication. The lad, however, did not seem to notice her falsehood. Instead, he looked eagerly back at Killian.
“A pirate? Like Captain Hook?”
Killian shot a startled look at Emma, but she just shrugged. “Aye, I suppose so.”
Henry narrowed his eyes. “You don’t look like Captain Hook. No curls or mustache or anything.”
“Perhaps,” Killian said, “the problem is that your Captain Hook doesn’t look like me.”
Henry shrugged. “Can I go back to the water now?”
Emma nodded and the lad scampered off.
“Nice save,” she murmured as soon as Henry was out of ear shot. “I need to be more careful what I say around him.”
“No harm done I suppose,” Killian said. “I find myself quite curious, though, to see a rendering of what your world believes to be Captain Hook.”
She laughed. “We have got to watch Peter Pan sometime. The look on your face when you see your Disney counterpart is going to be priceless.”
Killian raised one skeptical eyebrow. “Something tells me I’ll rather dislike what I see.”
She laughed again.
“The lad is perceptive, though,” Killian continued, going back to the main topic of conversation at hand. “He’s bound to–”
He stopped abruptly as he watched Emma squirt another generous dollop of the sunscreen onto her hand and then begin applying it to her arms, her legs, her chest, her stomach.
Was the woman trying to kill him?
“Bound to what?” she asked.
Killian cleared his throat. “Bound to notice things are amiss at some point or another.”
“Yeah,” she answered, sounding utterly unaware of what she was doing to him with her ministrations. “I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. Hey, can you do my back?”
His eyebrows raised nearly to his hairline. “Do…your back?”
“Yeah,” she said, holding out the bottle to him. “I can’t reach it on my own, and I don’t want to burn.”
She…she wished him to rub lotion onto her back? She truly was trying to murder him, burn him alive with the want of her.
He must have taken too long to answer, because she turned toward him with questioning eyes–that slowly widened as she saw the look in his own eyes. “I…um…I can have Henry do it if you don’t want to.”
Killian closed his eyes and groaned. He was on fire, but what a lovely way to burn. “The wanting is not the problem,” he muttered. “But no matter. I’m fully capable of completing the task you’ve assigned me.”
As he applied the lotion, caressing her silky soft skin, moving steadily from the nape of her neck down toward her delectable arse, he began to wonder if he’d spoken the truth. The thoughts he was having were most assuredly NOT fit to be engaged in in public or in the company of a child.
He was in need of a cold and bracing shower.
“Come on guys! Aren’t you ever going to be ready?” Henry asked, running back to them once again.
Saved by the lad again!
“As it happens,” Killian said, getting to his feet, “I’m ready right now. Lead on my boy.”
What followed were several of the most enjoyable hours Killian had spent in years. He was reminded of the days of his boyhood before his mother had passed. She’d often take Liam and him down to the beach, where they’d frolic and play until the sun went down.
Killian helped Henry build a sand castle–complete with moat and drawbridge built of twigs they’d found along the shore. They swam, all three playfully splashing each other. They dined on sandwiches prepared by Granny, and they combed the beach for interesting rocks and seashells.
Finally, as afternoon turned to dusk and then night fell, it was time to return to the inn. They gathered their things and headed back to the car while Henry chattered a mile a minute about all they’d done that day.
Later, back at their rooms, Emma closed the door behind Henry and then turned back toward Killian. “Hey, thanks for joining us today,” she said, smiling happily up at him. “I think we all needed a little break from the stress of Wicked Witch hunting.”
He reached up and brushed a flyaway lock of hair behind her ear, returning her smile with a tender one of his own. “You’ve no need to thank me, love. It was my very great pleasure.”
She smiled again, looking at his eyes, and then focusing on his lips, her hands flexing at her sides. He wanted nothing in the world more at this moment than to pull her toward him and kiss her breathless–and from the way she was looking at him, it would seem she wanted the same–but Killian was determined to let her set the pace. And so he waited for her to make up her mind.
After a moment where the tension between them sizzled as hot as the pavement that day, she took a deep breath, and then stepped back. For a moment Killian felt an intense stab of disappointment, but then he schooled his features. Swan may not be ready to give herself over to her feelings for him yet, but they were there. If there was anything this day at the beach told him it was that.
He was a patient man. He could wait until she was ready to move forward.
“Well…” Emma said awkwardly after another moment. “Guess I better hit the sack. No doubt it’s only a matter of time before the next crisis hits. Need to get rested up.”
“Goodnight love.”
He watched as she disappeared into her room and then shut the door before turning to his own room across the hall. No, Killian had never been a fan of hot, summer weather, but if it was to afford him days like this, he may need to reassess his opinion.
Notes:
–Like many places in the U.S. right now, my little corner of the country is experiencing a significant heat wave right now. Some of the ladies on my OUAT Discord decided we should use that fact to our advantage–keeping in mind the fact that literally EVERYTHING can be made into a CS fic if you try hard enough. And when I think of heat waves, what comes to mind? Swimming–it may be the only outdoor activity that feels even remotely tolerable in weather like this. And with swimming involved, I could not resist introducing Killian to the modern wonder that is the bikini. I suspect Emma’s right. He’d rather like the article of attire when it’s being worn by a certain blonde savior-princess!
–But lest this fic venture into territory far more explicit than a T rated fic should, I decided to add Henry into their swimming excursion. And after all, who doesn’t love Captain Cobra and Captain Cobra Swan?

My Bad, Bad Devil, You Put the Angel in You
—an angel!Killian/demon!Emma AU PWP for CSSNS21
A/N: A huge shoutout and thank you to ultraluckycatnd for beta-ing this for me, and to the mods of @cssns for giving us another year of this event!
Heads up that this has some sacrilegious uses of Biblical references, and I totally understand and respect if that's a big nope for anyone for any reason. Most of my life, it would've been a nope for me too. I mean no attack or mockery or other ill intent toward Christianity/religion or anyone who practices any form of it.
I grew up in church but I've been questioning a lot for a long time now, and this sort of became my own little personal rebellion. (I guess writing smut in general has been, but this one is on another level.) I kind of have a love/hate relationship with this fic; it was fun when I started it, but then I got frustrated and stuck, and now I'm not sure how I feel about it anymore. And maybe I'll regret it in the future if I ever see the light again or something, but for now, I've resigned to the fact that if I'm gonna go to hell (if I even believe there is one anymore), then I might as well have a little fun with it while I can.

“Well, well, what do we have here?” Emma purred, closing the distance between herself and the angel standing before her. With a flick of her wrist, she cast him back against the window and commanded the curtains to cross in front of him, spinning him so that he faced the glass before wrapping themselves around his wings and arms to restrain him.
“A daughter of the damned, getting in over her head?” Killian quipped, testing the hold of the thick cloth keeping him in place without fighting it.
“Mmm,” Emma hummed. Taking advantage of the fact that he hadn’t worn a shirt in favor of opening his wings, she reached around his waist and bent her arms upward so she could slowly rake her nails down his exposed chest. “You’re the one tied up, but I’m in over my head?” She twirled a few of his hairs around her finger and tugged, making him flinch.
“You make the mistake of thinking I’m not exactly where I want to be, love.” Killian glanced back at her with a devious smirk. “That is why you’re in over your head.”
“Oh, I know,” Emma smiled. Resting her chin on his shoulder, she lowered her hands and began to unlace his trousers. “I know you want to fall, don’t you?” She freed his hardening cock from its leather confines and slowly ran her hand back and forth along the length of him. “You want to rise and fall and lose yourself in the worst way.”
“With you?” Killian panted, already breathless under her sinfully skilled touch. “Hell yes.”
“Then you’re going to let them watch you fall from grace.” Emma gestured at the window in front of them, guiding Killian’s eyes to gaze out at the possibility of unwitting passersby spotting their activities, before taking him in hand once more. “You’re going to let them see you give all of yourself to a demon.” The guttural groan he made only spurred her on as she continued to pump him. “Unless you can’t handle it.”
Killian’s head fell back when Emma interrupted her stroking to grip his balls with a taunting squeeze, and he muttered under his breath, “God, forgive me,” as his eyes fluttered closed. Bucking his hips, he tried to coax her to go faster, “Yes, Emma, please yes,” but she smiled as she removed her hand and relished the whine that left his lips.
“An angel eager to sin.” She slipped her hands beneath the back of his trousers, kneading his ass for a moment before stripping off the leather, trailing kisses down his spine as she sank to the floor with the material. “Step.” With a tap to the backs of his knees, she removed the trousers completely and tossed them aside.
Emma ducked between Killian’s legs and twisted her body in one fluid motion so that she sat with her back to the window, greeted by his cock pointing right at her face.
“I want to taste you,” she said and lifted his cock so she could lick a slow stripe from base to head, swiping her tongue over the sensitive tip. Ivory Runs Red: 5/6
First off, massive thanks to the @cssns, my beta @demisexualemmaswan, and my artist @cocohook38. Cocohook created this amazing cover art, and she is working on something else too to go with this story. The rough sketch made my jaw drop, so I can’t wait for ya’ll to see it!
This part is going to be a little long, but I need to address something that I got multiple comments about. Just bear with me; this is the only way I can think to clear things up. I was really surprised to see that some people were angry at David and Mary Margaret for not doing anything to find Emma and/or "allowing" her relationship with Neal. Others simply expressed things along the lines of "I hope you explain what David and Mary Margaret did about all this." The reason this reaction surprised me so much is because I thought it was clear that they HAD done something. Why would the Golds need to get rid of police files if the Swans never reported Emma missing? Why would issues of the newspaper be missing from the library if Emma's disappearance wasn't reported on? Obviously, David and Mary Margaret did something! As for Neal, they had no idea Emma was seeing him. If you'll recall, in a previous chapter, Emma told Killian she had to sneak out at night to meet Neal. So that wasn't Snowing's fault either. Also, how would any of these characters know what David and Mary Margaret did or didn't do for their daughter? This is almost a hundred years later, and Emma's memories are dulled from being a ghost for so long. The only way I could spell out clearly how Snowing handled their daughter's disappearance would be some sort of convoluted info-dump, and I didn't want to destroy the tone and mood of the story to do that. But just so everyone knows: Yes, Emma's parents were devastated. They did everything in their power to find her, never giving up hope (which is so in character for them!). They died still believing she was either still out there or that crimes against her had gone unpunished. It broke their hearts. The Golds spread rumors that Emma was some kind of slut who ran away with a guy, and the people of Storybrooke overall thought the Swans had gone crazy. So there it is, that's the back story that I just couldn't figure out how to fit in the story, lol.
I'm not mad at the questions, to be clear. I was just surprised by them. I guess I blame the show for ruining these two as parents the last couple of seasons. Maybe that's why everyone jumped on them so fast. I was also honestly worried that ya'll would be upset with me for not addressing the topic, hence this long explanation! No one was rude by any means, so don't go trying to defend me from nonexistent trolls, lol! My feelings have NOT been hurt. I simply wanted to address the questions that were asked and the misplaced anger toward Snowing. (Not anger towards me - but fictional characters!)
Okay, now that I've cleared all THAT up, let's get on with the next chapter, shall we? And I'll go ahead and warn you: this is gonna hurt . . .

Chapter Five: Run
“You’ve got to tell them what you saw - what you’ve learned,” Killian pleaded.
Graham shook his head, his curly hair falling in his eyes as he stared at the slender hands he clasped in his. His eyes were bloodshot, his jaw sported far more facial hair than it normally did, and Killian didn’t have to ask if he’d slept in the past forty-eight hours.
“They won’t believe me.”
Killian’s jaw clenched in frustration. “But if I saw Emma, and you saw her, then maybe they’ll believe -”
“That Belle saw a ghost push Mike Gaston off the troll bridge? They’ll believe that? Really?” Graham let out a sarcastic, bitter laugh. “You really are just a naive kid if that’s what you're thinking.”
“But you’re a cop!”
“I’m still only nineteen! They’ll think we’re just over-imaginative teenagers.” Graham paused, reaching up with one hand to trace the curve of Belle’s cheek as she slept in her drug-induced prison. “That will land us in rooms just down the hall with our own IV full of an antipsychotic cocktail. How will I help her then?”
“You’ve fallen in love with her.” It wasn’t a question.
Graham sighed. “How could I not? And how could he -” He broke off, his blue eyes flashing. “I’m not sorry he’s dead. If I’d been there and saw him hurt her -”
“Shh, I wouldn’t say things like that. Not here.”
Killian’s gaze fell to the bruises around Belle’s neck, and he didn’t blame Graham at all. It terrified him to think what could have happened if Emma hadn’t shown up.
“History repeats itself,” he murmured under his breath.

Killian had scarcely arrived at the bridge when headlights blinded him. He turned away, blinking, stumbling, refusing to be stopped.
“Emma! Emma!” he shouted. He tripped and dropped his flashlight. It broke as it hit the ground, rolling to the edge of the bridge. Now all he could see was ebony before him and radiant luminescence behind him.
His palms scraped against the asphalt as Liam hauled him to his feet. His brother gripped his upper arms so tightly it was almost painful, and he gave him a brief shake.
“You’ve got to stop this!”
Killian fought him. “I have to see her!”
Liam had always been broader than Killian with an unfair advantage in all their childhood tussles. Even now, Killian was no match for him as he lifted him bodily with one arm and hauled him over to his car.
“You need help!” Liam literally tossed him into the backseat.
“I’m not going home!” Killian tried to scramble out, but Liam just shoved him back inside.
“Good, because I’m not taking you home.”

“Why won’t you be straight with us, kid?”
Killian glared at the detective with a cynical sneer. The psychiatrist on the cop’s left frowned at Killian’s attitude. The choice of words was cruel considering he was in a literal straightjacket. His vision of the two men was obscured by the long strands of dark hair before his eyes. Haircuts were apparently seen as a luxury on the psych ward.
“I’ve answered all your questions,” Killian finally told them wearily, “you just don’t like what I had to say.”
“Because we want the truth,” the psychiatrist, Dr. Archie Hopper, said gently. He was clearly playing the part of “good cop.” Or “good doctor.” Whatever.
“I told you the truth.”
“There’s no such thing as ghosts.”
Killian snorted a laugh. “Tell that to Mike Gaston.”
The detective’s voice took on a harsh, warning tone. “Mike Gaston was the victim of murder.”
“The victim!” Killian cried, his voice snapping up. “What about the bruises he put on Belle? Or the fact that I nearly died when he tied me to that bridge!”
The detective’s lips curled up in a lewd sneer as he lit a cigarette. “If some horny teenager likes it a bit rough, that’s none of my business.”
Killian fought his bonds, his jaw clenching at the detective’s insinuation. He was as bad as Neal Gold, maybe worse. He had to be pushing fifty at least, and a pot belly strained at his button up shirt. His eyes widened as Killian raged.
“Bothers you though, I see.” He leaned forward. “Nobody blames you for wanting her, kid. Nobody blames you for being jealous. But murder? That’s a different story.”
“I told you I had nothing to do with that!”
The detective glanced at Dr. Hopper, and the soft spoken psychiatrist took over. “Killian, start at the beginning for us. What did Belle say when she called you that night?”
“I’m telling you, she didn’t call me, she didn’t come to my house. I saw her early that afternoon at the library. That was it. Then my brother got a phone call that there had been an accident, and we came to the hospital.”
“You and Belle were at the library together a lot,” Hopper said softly, “what did you two do there?”
Killian rolled his eyes. He hated the patronizing way the man asked the question. “We studied. Did our homework. We were friends.”
The detective snorted again, and Killian wanted to scream. “Drop the act, kid. You really expect us to believe that you spent all that time with her, all that time with a hot chick, and you never fucked her?”
Dr. Hopper recoiled at the foul language, and Killian thought his own jaw might actually break.
“You’re just as much a misogynistic, narrow-minded, neanderthal as Mike Gaston.”
The detective grinned and slapped Dr. Hopper on the knee. “You were right, shrink, this kid’s smart.” He took another puff of his cigarette as he eyed Killian. “Smart enough to plan an elaborate murder with your knocked-up girlfriend?”
“That’s the most ridiculous - wait - did you say knocked up?”
“Hm,” the detective mused, leaning back in his chair and rubbing at his five o’clock shadow. “You didn’t know?”
Killian was horrified when a laugh slipped past his lips. Another bitter laugh followed, then another, until before he knew it, he was shaking with them. He was laughing hysterically while wearing a straightjacket. That thought made him laugh even more, and if he didn’t seem like a lunatic before, he sure as hell did now.
“What the hell is so funny?” thundered the detective.
Killian’s laughter stopped abruptly and he leveled the man with an intense stare. “History repeating itself. That’s what’s so funny.”
A smile that he knew bordered on manic curled his lips. Yes, history had repeated itself, and this time, Emma Swan had won.

They didn’t have enough to charge him, or Belle, or anyone else really with Gaston’s murder. It was officially declared an accident, and theoretically, Belle French and Killian Jones were free to move on.
Killian wouldn’t say it was easy for Belle. She had severe trauma from that terrifying night, and she ended up losing the baby because of it. Nevertheless, she had Dr. Hopper’s patient help, her father’s support, and Graham’s unwavering devotion. Soon, though it would be a long time before she was truly healed, she was able to go home.
Killian, on the other hand, didn’t really want to go home. For one, he, unlike Belle and Graham, refused to stop talking about Emma - refused to lie and say he made it up. He didn’t fault his friends for it; didn’t take it as a betrayal. He even understood their reasoning when they begged him to do the same and just play along, damn it. He simply couldn’t do it. Emma was too real, too precious. He knew her in a way they never would. He knew the feel of her skin, the taste of her lips. He wouldn’t - couldn’t - let that go.
The psych ward wasn’t so bad. The drugs numbed him to the point that he sailed on a sea of oblivion half the time. He’d stopped fighting, so there was no more straight jacket, no more bed straps.
And she came to him. Sometimes the drugs meant he wasn’t lucid enough to really carry on a conversation. On those nights, she curled up next to him on the bed. She ran her fingers through his hair and caressed his cheeks. She pressed kisses to his lips, and sometimes he could respond in kind.
Other times, though admittedly rare, they would talk. About everything and nothing at all. One night, they talked about their dreams for later, after high school, and suddenly Emma began to weep.
“I know,” he soothed, brushing her forehead with a kiss, “you fear you can never have that. But maybe we can figure it out. If we somehow get the truth out. About your murder -”
Emma silenced him with a finger to his lips. “That isn’t it, Killian. It’s you. I have no more tomorrows but you can.”
His brow furrowed, and she sighed and soothed the lines away with the pad of her thumb.
“But not if you keep holding onto me.”
His arms instinctively pulled her closer. “I’ll never let you go.”
She sighed, and sadness filled her eyes. She slipped out of his embrace and rose from the bed. Her skin grew white, her gown floated in an ethereal way at her feet. He frowned and scrambled to a sitting position.
“I have to say goodbye,” she told him. She said it with an edge of discovery in her voice. Her lips turned up in a soft smile even as a tear slipped down her cheek.
He shook his head and tried to reach for her, to leave the bed, but he had just enough drugs in his system to make his movements sluggish and ineffectual.
“I won’t let you see me again.”
“No, Emma, please! I love you!”
“And I love you. That’s why I have to do this.”
She was already fading away. Killian made a fist and slammed it into his thigh. Tears stung his eyes.
“Be happy,” she told him, “for me.”
Then she was gone.
