You must long for the summer of unripe apricots. It comes only once. You will scrape your elbows and knees on the bark as you climb up the twin trunks in the side yard of a woman who will break her neck in a car crash ten years later but still come out all right. You will shake the boughs till the fat golden fruit tumbles from the branches and to the waiting tarps below. You will bring basket after basket home that summer and you will long for it. There is abundance in these baskets. The fuzzy orange skin ripening to sunset gold. You will never reach the bottom of the baskets and crates and boxes full of apricots you can only taste in your dreams. The fruits at the bottom will spoil before they see daylight and this will not matter because two more baskets are coming tomorrow and a third will be sent home with your dad. You eat the unripe ones, their taste almost chalky, slightly bitter, texture just firm enough to be crisp, yet still sweet past the traces of bitterness of tang. Yearn for this, you'll only get this once. This is the summer of unripe apricots. Take part. You eat as many as you can but there are always more. Your mother bakes cobblers, your dad packs half a dozen into his lunches, the fruit ends up in jams, jellies, preserves, canned and jarred and candied and syrupped til the smell of warm apricot permeates the kitchen, the car, the yard filled with the small teardrop stones leftover from your orange gold feast. Their texture in the dry sun is like the dark cracked nose of the old dog that has just been napping on the patio. She snuffles you with it, and it is as warm as her lazy flanks, not yet licked to wet coldness by the warm tongue currently tasting the sweet apricot juices that ran down your forearms and dried to summer's stickiness. You eat as many unripe apricots as your stomach can hold. Yearn for this. A misremembered number of weeks into the summer of unripe apricots you will eat too many. The gastrointestinal distress resulting from this will turn you off the taste of apricot for approximately a decade. Your body will harness foraging instincts not used in your bloodline since your great uncle crashed his fighter plane in North Africa. Every apricot is poison. The golden orange hue the glow of a deathly mushroom or the shade of the killer dart frog's skin. You know better than this, but the primordial revulsion within you is as strong as the ancestral crags it was formed in. Your summer of unripe apricots will never bear fruit again. The next year the frost kills buds sprouted too soon. The year after high winds strip the branches bare. The next year it's been ten years since you tasted the abundance of those two apricot trees. Yearn for it.

I had to write something for her and I really wanted to post it today because duh! So hopefully this will make the other Jason Voorhees fangirls happy! Until next time happy reading! ~Countess

Your parents had forced you into being a camp counselor at the newly reopened Camp Crystal Lake. Despite your protests at having to spend summer with cruel students you went to school with, you were shipped off and left to fend for yourself. It didn't take long until the horrible things that they did to you during the school year began to happen at the camp. It didn't matter how many times you told the overseers of the camp, your dilemmas fell on deaf ears. Two days into your camp stay and you escaped to your cabin and refused to come out. You locked the door, letting the pleas of the staff go ignored. Thankfully your mother had packed you snacks, so you had no reason to leave.

That second night you had been holed up everything changed. You had fallen asleep, the sounds of night bugs filling the silence until a scream pierced the air. You jolted awake, a shiver going down your spine. Several moments passed as you tried to steady your breathing, your mind chalking it up to the others trying to get you to come out of your cabin. Laying back down you tried to go back again, when another scream froze your blood. You could hear thundering footsteps as the door to your cabin began to shake. One of the counselors beat upon the door, pleading for you to let them in.

"Haven't you tortured me enough," you shouted pulling your blankets over your head. "Go prank someone else!"

Another scream as a machete pierced through the wood of your cabin door and blood splattered across the frosted glass. You choked back a scream, trying to keep as quiet as possible, praying that whoever on the other side would go away. No such luck as the door shattered letting in the attacker. You shook violently at the giant of a man standing before you. Your eye had been blackened from your fellow counselors throwing rocks at you and the palms of your hands had scabbed over where they had tripped you on the gravel.

"Please," you whimpered. "Don't hurt me."

Though he didn't treat you the same as the now dead girl on the ground in front of your cabin, he didn't just leave you alone. You found yourself walking beside the tall killer through the camp that now was stained with the blood of his victims. Your legs felt like jello as you tried to think of some way to get away. He put a hand at the small of your back, trying to be careful of your bruises. No one had treated you so gently but you really didn't want to go into the woods. He was adamant as he pushed you further. How he could see you didn't know as the moon was hidden by the dense foliage of the trees and small bushes. Sticks cracked under your bare feet and despite his large size he stalked through the darkness in absolute silence. You tripped over roots, sticks snagging on your hair, and thorns scratching up your already battered face. He patiently waited for you to catch up, never letting you fall too far behind. The further in the woods you got, the more exhausted you became until every step you took you were tripping. You couldn't see your hand in front of your face and the terror was beginning to swallow you.

The adrenaline you had before was keeping you going, but now that wore out and you were exhausted. You watched the large man disappear in a thick brush. Letting out a relieved breath you hoped that your luck was finally beginning to change. That didn't last long as he returned not seconds later. Seeing you on the ground he slipped the rusted bloodstained machete under his belt and holding out a scarred and bloody hand. You reclined away from his hand. He grunted wiping his hand on his stained pants before reaching out again. He wasn't going to leave so you gave in, placing your much smaller hand in his large palm. He pulled you upwards, getting you back steady on your feet before starting forward again. A few steps in and you noticed that he hadn't released your hand. It was much easier to walk and keep up with him as long as he held your hand tightly. The coolness of his skin against your warmth was a pleasant contrast it had you shivering.

You lost track of the time and how long you had been walking before exhaustion once again nipped at your heels. Despite him leading you, you were beginning to falter once again.

"I'm tired," you mumbled.

Wordlessly and in one motion you were lifted and held in this stranger's arms. He carried you tenderly making sure no branches snagged in your hair or struck your face. He seemed tireless as he pressed forward. Though he hadn't said a word or made any sort of motions to harm you, it had been the nicest you'd ever been treated. The horrors at the camp, not just from his killing spree, seemed to melt away as exhaustion overtook your body. You fell asleep in his arms as he kept walking forward with a purpose. Thoughts of what everyone would think with you missing was at the back of your mind until you were swallowed by sleep. You couldn't bring yourself to worry as you finally felt safe at last, you melted into his embrace and let yourself be carried away. The unknown before you vast and uncharted, but maybe it would be better. Time would only tell.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I very rarely write angsty endings, so they're kinda notable when they happen: "Cold" (Eobard Thawne/Killer Frost, The Flash) (Very short but I've been told it packs a punch. 🥰😉) "Dark/Light" (chapter 1) (Harry Wells/Caitlin Snow, The Flash) (An experimental fic where the dialogue is exactly the same in ch1 and 2 but they tell vastly different stories. 😉) Honorable mention to "Gray Sunflowers" (Caitlin Snow/Hunter Zolomon, The Flash) as a rare one where the entire fic is a metaphor for depression and even though the ending isn't super angsty by any means, it also isn't particularly hopeful either. It's still one of my favorites, though, because I felt like it has a distinctive voice.

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I'm resisting the urge to put "Side Effect" and the, er, multiple "happy endings" that occur in it here, lol! 🤣🤣🤣 Honestly, basically all of my other fics have a happy ending. I might go with "The Thousand and the First" (NSFW)(Eobard Thawne/Caitlin Snow, The Flash) because I wanted it to carry through a complete redemption arc for Eobard and I think it succeeded. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯😉

Do you get hate on fics? So far, no. On vids... oh yeah. 😑

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Um, yep. Lots. I tend to write smut with a funny tone. I've very rarely done a conventional "romance novel" type scene. "Balancing Act" (Ten/Donna, linked above) was one of the first I'd did with that quasi-realistic/funny tone to it.

Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? I've only written one so far: "Cold Hands" (Caitlin Snow/Jordan Mahkent, The Flash/Stargirl), which also has a vid, "Gasoline."

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of. Again, a vid? Yes.

Have you ever had a fic translated? Not as far as I know.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? I don't work well with a co-writer, simply because my muse is so resistant to writing to an outline.

What’s your all time favorite ship? To write? Any variation of Eobard Thawne/Caitlin Snow and the Wells dopplegangers/Caitlin or Killer Frost, The Flash, John-117/Kai-125 and John-117/Reader.

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? "Try" (both versions of Eobard Thawne/Caitlin Snow, The Flash). I have 3 chapters completed and it's definitely the fic with the most world-building in it and it would also be the first full-fledged poly fic I've done. But my inspiration for the Flash just got smushed by the show so repeatedly I doubt I'll ever get enough oomph to finish it.

What are your writing strengths? Funny smut? Taking fandoms that are very not domestic and writing domestic fics in them? (I'm looking at you, Halo. Apologies to all of the Halo fans out there who absolutely hate people like me. 🫣I know you're out there but I appreciate you only vague-posting about me/people like me and not calling me out by name.)

What are your writing weaknesses? I don't write plotty fic very well, nor do I stick to canon very often. Worst thing is how easily I can sabotage myself and get convinced that everybody hates what I write. I've had SO many wonderful comments telling me otherwise but mannnnnn, my Evil Inner Editor can make me feel like the worst imposter ever. 😔

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I've written for Sherloque Wells a handful of times, most notably "Unrequited" (Sherloque/Caitlin, The Flash) but I had help from a genuine French speaker to make sure it was saying what I thought it was saying, lol! It's not something I would want to do a lot, though, because I don't have a good enough grasp on any other language to feel comfortable with it. I greatly admire those who can, though!

First fandom you wrote for? Lord of the Rings, though it's no longer online anywhere. Doctor Who was my official entrance in the awesome world of fanfic after that!

Favorite fic you’ve written? Well, ask me my favorite child, why don't you? 😮🤣 How about I pick one two that haven't been mentioned so far that I'd love to see get more attention? "Phase Two" (Ninth Doctor/Rose Tyler, Doctor Who) is a sentimental fav and "Offer" (Eobard Thawne/Killer Frost, The Flash) is honestly a world I would've loved to have written more in because I found it so interesting.

hey y’all, I’m what the kids call trash going through a dry spell of writing... it’s slow going on both my fics but I wanted to share a bit of the next chapter of Better Not Wake The Baby. The way I’ve been structuring it in my mind has been on the four seasons plus another winter- as I’ve plotted it out now, Winter (last posted- 3.6k) is pretty much complete. Spring has swollen up to 5.6K already and I expect it to probably double. Summer should be short- I’ve only got 300 words written and I really don’t expect much to happen. The second Winter is 5.6k and will also probably double.

Below is a little bit of spring that I can share without spoiling anything or a major cliffhanger and below THAT are just little bits of the other seasons for you to chew on :)

Spring

Lambert leaves, then Eskel and the last storms, and Vesemir starts calling Geralt down to sow the gardens with manure. During the day, Vesemir sends Jaskier out to forage for the herbs and mushrooms he can identify; at night, Jaskier tucks himself between Geralt's legs with a book. He learns to suppress the shudders as Geralt's hands start to play with his cunt and widens his sprawl as he ruts against Geralt's cock. Jaskier clutters his mind with the sources of alchemy ingredients and sweetens his scent with memories of blackberries and fields of rye and the freedom of ambling a flock across Lettenhove. Geralt softens even more as arid misery gives way to the tedium of tallow and rosemary.

After what's certainly the last frost, radishes already unfurling from the hard ground, Vesemir and the goats are the only ones to see them off.

Vesemir gifted Geralt with all the little conveniences of a mated couple; a larger bedroll and kettle to share when they made camp, an ornamental medallion Jaskier might wear if he behaved back from the days Witchers did have sweethearts on the path, a new ledger to record their travels.

Geralt has packed up Roach and Vesemir has loaded Jaskier down with a novice witcher's kit; a gambeson and leather cuirass to keep him safe from bandits, a brick of honey and nuts and figs to supplement their field rations, a copy of their novitiate's songbook to help him remember the sprawling roads and names of beasts and plants.

The descent from Kaer Morhen is worlds easier than before: they bypass The Killer entirely, taking the smoother paths long since opened up by early spring slides and storms.

The two pick a path through the Blue Mountains through Kaedwan down into Aedirn.

During the day, on the Path, Jaskier croons his way into a modicum of freedom. The days come in starts and stops: unlike the grueling endless days of the last fall. The day Geralt taught him to sew up his thigh is a breath, the day Geralt presents him with a crown of aphrodisiac flowers stretches on endlessly, and the regular fruitless tupping beside the road becomes a dull hum threading the weeks together.

Since Jaskier proposed "courting", they've struck a number of bargains; though Jaskier isn't sure Geralt would think of them that way. Geralt stops taking the fertility treatments, holding off when Jaskier gently asks about the strain of heavy pregnancy or a newborn taking the path to the keep. Jaskier begins learning songs from tavern bards and the novitiate's songbook and practices singing for the hour after they lunch.

He sings to the boundless skies- swallows his envy of the thrushes and spits out his own song of gliding through the spring.

Summer

He can't control the groan that escapes him when a foot nudges into his back: he looks up into a pair of golden eyes and knows he is absolutely completely fucked because if there was one thing the Witchers of Kaer Morhen could agree on- it's that the Cats are fucked in the head and not above blood sport. he doesn't feel fear, more like a bit of humor, because he'd hardly expected to make it this far and he's waiting for his death like a punchline.

Fall

"It used to be a treat for the novices to be taken down the mountain," Vesemir says lightly, "and with your temperament, I imagine you'll want to pick between millet and oats." 

Jaskier snorts. He does- he can't stand oats.

They make it to the hamlet in the late afternoon and it's almost evening before they find a house with spare supplies to barter: a merchant is due to make his last trip of the season soon, but the locals are reluctant to turn over their cushioning after the augur predicted an early freeze. Jaskier goes into the last house alone at twilight and drives a hard bargain. Vesemir fails to hide a fond glance when Jaskier slips the fat purse of crowns back into his breeches and wordlessly starts filling Wielki's packs with salt, hops, yarrow, slippery elm, saltpetre, and other provisions. He went back to the homestead and came out with two sacks of millet.

Winter

"What's my real name Geralt?" the pace of stabbing quickened, the grooves on the table between his fingers deepening as Jaskier's voice became a jab as well, "You saw it on the papers I signed when Nenneke took Essi in her care. What's my name?" Geralt didn't answer. Jaskier rammed the dagger where his palm had been only seconds before, fast enough Aiden nearly dove for a bandage, "Call me whatever the fuck you like then- it doesn't make a difference to you."

Assault on Arkham (2014)

This film is directed by Jay Oliva and Ethan Spaulding. Set in the Arkham games universe, we see Batman as he takes on the Suicide Squad. Batman rescues the Riddler from some shady black OPs ordered by Amanda Waller for A.R.G.U.S. thus placing him back into Arkham Asylum. Waller activates Task Force X composed of Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Killer Frost, King Shark, the KGBeast, Black Spider and Harley Quinn for a suicide mission to Gotham looking for the Riddler's cane with some vital information on the squad. The KGBeast was the first casualty when his head exploded as a sample. The Squad went to the Ice Berg Lounge where they met the Penguin and get them some equipment needed. The squad then went to Arkham Asylum where the Joker went wild upon seeing Harley Quinn. Let's just say all hell breaks loose. The Riddler helped the squad to get rid of their explosive device except for King Shark who's tough skin didn't do the trick to deactivate the bomb. Batman tried to get the Joker and somehow disappeared after he seemingly crashed to his death.

Animation is top notch and the writing is action packed. The Joker vs Deadshot vs Batman was a highlight although Harley Quinn and Deadshot's bed scene is more engaging. All in all, the film is what the live version of Suicide Squad could have been. I really enjoyed the film just like the first time I watched it all those years ago.

The Flash Season 3 - Retrospective Review

I finally finished up season 3 in my retrospective rewatch. I remember season 3 was largely considered a step down after the well received first two seasons and I remember I felt similarly at the time. But having rewatched season 3, I was honestly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It definitely has its problems without a doubt, but I would say that its back half is actually really strong. I think its overall impact is right up there with season 2.

Like I mentioned, there are problems with season 3 for sure. I think the show royally squandered the potential of Flashpoint. I get that the show doesn't quite have the budget to do the Flashpoint from the comics, but this adaptation was so far removed comics that it barely even feels like it is taking anything from the comics. Problem also was that Flashpoint in the comics had happened only 5 years prior and had been a very popular run which then led the new 52 for DC. Not to mention, The Flashpoint Paradox movie had done a very effective adaptation of the story a few years prior as well. Flashpoint honestly should have been a crossover storyline that kicked off the respective seasons of all the shows in question. I get why it was difficult to do so, but the end result was disappointing even though there were charming elements to the alternate timeline scenes, and the scenes with Matt Lescher Thawne with Barry, were a treat. The Flashpoint episode is also the first time I honestly was sold on the idea of Barry and Iris as a couple. Because Flashpoint removed the baggage of their shared past growing up, I feel the episode did show the chemistry between the two.

I think the initial run of episodes of season 3 are rocky. There are multiple reasons for it. For one, the show's decision to make the consequences of Flashpoint almost universally negative makes the season quite downbeat in tone. Its an issue the season is never able to fully shrug off. But we essentially get nothing but negative consequences, for the West family, for Cisco, and for Caitlin. It just gets a little much, especially with Cisco, who was our primary source of humor in previous seasons. Not to mention, the villains born out of Flashpoint are quite mediocre. The show tried to promise a non speedster villain in Alchemy, but he ended up being a lot of nothing. Savitar himself is a bit of a mixed bag as a villain. Initially, he just pales in comparison to Zoom and Thawne, and his suit design feels like a Transformer design. But he definitely improves as the season goes on and certainly when the identity of Savitar is revealed, he becomes quite interesting. Certainly Savitar and Killer Frost make for a lot of fun because they are more personal as villains. There is still a sense of lost potential because an evil Barry could have been even cooler but the show doesn't really give enough time for a proper explanation to why time remnant Barry became evil. There is an explanation, but it isn't very convincing.

However, I will say that the back half of season 3 is really strong. I would argue that the final run of episodes are stronger than season 2. The first half has some strong episodes like 'Killer Frost', which gives a focus on Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin. But the show really takes off with the Grodd two parter. All the episodes following that are pretty good and the finale is certainly the most action packed finale till that point. There are some genuinely great episodes towards the end. The entire run from 'The Once and Future Flash' to 'Finish Line' is pretty great. As I mentioned before, once Caitlin turns into Killer Frost, then the entire conflict feels a lot more personal because it is essentially a future version of Barry and an evil version of Caitlin.

The season also has some cool crossovers. 'Invasion' is pretty awesome and it was the biggest crossover till date, bringing in Legends and Supergirl and was a huge ratings smash. Its also incredibly entertaining. I liked that the show acknowledged the connections between characters across shows. Like between Caitlin and Martin Stein for example. It makes the whole thing feel like a universe. The action sequences, particularly in The Flash episode, are awesome. Barry going up against the powered heroes while Oliver goes up against the non powered ones, and then the face off between Flash and Supergirl. There is also the musical crossover, which is just super fun. Grant and Melissa were clearly having a blast. The musical talents of the Arrowverse were on display.

This season also introduced a few new characters to team Flash. One of which was Tom Cavanaugh's third iteration of Wells. I remember how it took some time to warm up to HR since he doesn't quite have the same utility to team Flash as previous Wells, but on rewatch he is really such an important cog. HR really acts as much needed comic relief in season 3 because the remaining characters are going through such dramatic character arcs. Also, the character is very likable and you really care for him and his death is one of the more impactful deaths on the show. The second major character introduced is Julian. Initially, the character is a little too antagonistic but you do warm up to him towards mid season when he joins team Flash. Plus, his acerbic nature adds a different quality to the team dynamic. I wasn't a big fan of making him another Caitlin love interest but the character was enjoyable and its a pity we never got more of him after season 3. Additionally, while not a new character, this is definitely the most prominent season for Wally. His development as Kid Flash is pretty central to a huge chunk of the season. He does get a little sidelined in the last run of episodes, but he does have a good arc overall. The season brings back Harry and Jesse to good effect, with Jesse becoming Jesse Quick. The Wally and Jesse romance is cute, if not fully realized and it is quite fun to have Tom Cavanaugh play both Harry and HR at the same time.

The cast is all on their A game throughout the season. This season is heavier on the drama for all the characters and it definitely causes all the actors to step up their game. As always, Grant Gustin is excellent. His role definitely is a lot more angsty and dealing with guilt and internal conflict, but he pulls it off. He does seem to be having fun playing Savitar and it was honestly a mistake that the reveal wasn't made some episodes before. The show ran the mystery for too long, and a really cool reveal became pretty obvious. Candice Patton gets to flex her dramatic chops. I admit that she very much is handcuffed into the girl who has to be saved role but he gets a lot of emotional scenes and she's great in it. This was definitely Danielle Panabaker's strongest season. She has a very central arc in this season. She's great as Caitlin and as Killer Frost. While E2 KF was a bit hammy, keeping in tone with E2, E1 KF has a bit more grounded nature to the performance. She definitely seems to have enjoyed playing evil, though the show never gave us an understanding as to why KF is evil by default. Carlos Valdez as always is excellent. His character is initially a bit too miserable, but everything takes a turn for the better from the crossover onwards. His romance with Gypsy was fun to see. The season gets to see him became Vibe and be out and about as a hero, which is pretty awesome. Jesse L. Martin continues to shine in all the emotional moments, and he gets to have plenty of those with Iris, Barry, and Wally all being in danger at some point or another. Tom Cavanaugh has a blast as HR. Its probably the character that is closest to his actual personality. He gets to play Harry and HR at several points in the season. Tom Felton brings his Draco Malfoy energy to good effect. He has a fun dynamic with Grant Gustin. Keynan Lonsdale is similarly excellent, playing Wally with arrogance and likability.

All in all, I think season 3 is a lot better than people give it credit for. I think a lot of the initial rough assessment is due to season 3 not introducing as many new elements like the first 2 seasons did. But in terms of enjoyment, I did have a lot of fun rewatching it. Hopefully the same holds true for season 4, which was one of my least favorite seasons overall for the show. This season is a solid 8/10.

ATLANTA — Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock has built up an advantage in Georgia’s record-breaking early vote, putting Republican Herschel Walker in a position where he’ll need to deliver big on Election Day to win in Tuesday’s Senate runoff.

Georgians have been bombarded with TV ads, radio messages, direct mail and ceaseless fundraising appeals in the closely watched Senate race. Many of them are ready for it to be over.

“It’s been very, very exhausting,” said Ana Gomez, a sophomore at Georgia Tech who attended Warnock's rally on campus Monday.

Over the long and grueling campaign, the two candidates have employed different strategies, with Warnock putting a premium on appeals to moderates and independents as Walker seeks to energize the Republican base in this former GOP stronghold.

On the airwaves, Warnock and his Democratic allies have outspent Republicans since the Nov. 8 general election.

But on the final day before the runoff, it was all about juicing turnout as each candidate held a packed schedule of events, focusing on areas where they have the strongest voter appeal.

Warnock hosted events in the Atlanta area with Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., as well as 25-year-old Rep.-elect Maxwell Frost, D-Fla., and the rapper Killer Mike, with an evening rally scheduled in the heart of the city.

Meanwhile, Walker held a series of rallies in the rural outskirts of the city, where he needs to run up the score to withstand the onslaught of Democratic votes in the Atlanta metropolitan area, and was set to close with an evening rally in suburban Cobb County.

“Everyone says: Gosh, why did Herschel get in this? What has this been like for me?” Walker’s wife, Julie Blanchard, said to a crowd on Monday. “And you know what? Our country’s worth it. It doesn’t matter what it’s like. It doesn’t matter if you get attacked.”

“He loves this country. He loves God. And he wants to fight for our country,” she said. “We don’t want to wake up like Venezuela.”

Warnock is entering the runoff from a position of strength. He leads among likely voters by 4 percentage points in a CNN poll published Friday, and by 5 points in a UMass Lowell poll out Monday.

An early vote that topped 1.85 million showed other positive signs for Warnock, with Democrats enjoying a 13-point edge — larger than the party’s 8-point lead in November’s early vote, according to TargetSmart’s model.

But Walker is widely expected to win more of the votes cast on Election Day. The question is whether he’ll win it by a wide enough margin to overcome his deficit heading into Tuesday.

Robert Trim, a Cobb County Republican who ran unsuccessfully for a state house seat last month, said he’ll vote for Walker on Tuesday, because a 50th GOP seat is “critically important” for committee power and denying Democrats unilateral subpoena authority.

But Trim conceded he’s pessimistic about Walker’s chances, comparing his run to former Republican Sen. David Perdue's failed runoff bid in 2020, when he lost to Ossoff.

“I don’t feel very confident,” Trim said in an interview. “I never have felt confident in where he’s positioned. So I’m probably less confident now than I was before.”

He said Democrats clinching Senate control “probably does sap some energy” because “most voters don’t understand” why an extra seat for the GOP minority changes the dynamics in Washington.

On TV, Walker is running an ad that shows him standing with Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, who handily won his re-election bid last month. Kemp is a foe of former President Donald Trump, whose early endorsement of Walker propelled him in the Senate race. But Trump, who became the first Republican to lose Georgia since 1992, has not campaigned for Walker in the runoff.

Walker “needs to win Election Day by double digits,” said Cody Hall, an adviser to Kemp, who said the Republican candidate will have to outperform his advantage from November's Election Day. “He’s gonna need to do better than that margin, which his team realizes.”

“Yes, the early voting looks good for Warnock,” Hall told NBC News. “But I would just caution everyone that base Republican voters in the last couple of cycles have liked turning out on Election Day. And I think that is going to benefit Herschel.”

Walker has struggled with independent voters, losing them by 11 points in the general election, according to NBC News exit polls.

He has sought to tie Warnock to President Joe Biden, who is unpopular in the state, and blame the two of them for rising costs and crime. On the campaign trail, Walker has leaned into cultural conservatism, blasting “wokeness” in Washington, the teaching of “critical race theory,” objecting to transgender athletes and inveighing against pronoun use in the military.

“Why are they bringing pronouns in our military? Pronouns? What the heck is a pronoun?” Walker told a crowd Sunday in Loganville. “I’m sick and tired of that pronoun stuff. Aren’t y’all sick and tired of that pronoun stuff? So why don’t we call this senator former senator? That’s his pronoun.”

Warnock has built his candidacy on a promise to work across the aisle with Republicans. Recently he has portrayed Walker as “woefully unfit” for the job, telling Georgians that he “doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”

On Monday, he told MSNBC's Joy Reid in Atlanta: “Given my opponent, this race is not even about Republican versus Democrat, red versus blue, right versus left. It’s right versus wrong, and I think people see that.”

The runoff election will be Warnock’s fifth time on the ballot in Georgia in about two years — one Democratic primary, two general elections and two runoffs. He won a special election in 2020 to capture the seat for two years, and the 2022 race will decide who holds it for the next six years.

“I started on this journey to the Senate about three years ago. And now there’s only one day left,” he said Monday at Georgia Tech. “But it all really comes down to this. We need you to show up. Are you ready to win this election?”

Walker also urged Georgians to cast their ballots on Tuesday, telling Sean Hannity on Fox News Monday night that his message to voters was: "If you don’t vote, you’re going to get more of Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden.”

1. “Hm.. let me list off all the reasons why that won’t be happening. Your car smells like a gas chamber, something about this hairstyle makes you look like more of a dick than usual today. No thanks, I’ll walk.”

2. “If that’s what you want, sure. I hope you’re right about never seeing each other again.” Her voice sent a chill down his spine as the car seemed to grow cold before Kori stepped out and slammed the door.

3. “You’re not selling me so I doubt it,” She finished the cup and threw it in the trash before flopping back against her bed. “How do you know all this will get solved in a weekend? And if it doesn’t, we still have class. We can’t just skip. Believe me, I tried. I hid out in the pool the other day and they tried to give me detention. Since when did the pool have a silent alarm?”

“I heard the board talking about it. They must’ve approved it. Still playing hookie even in your 3rd year of college.”

“Ew, don’t say that. I’m in a transitional period from 2nd to 3rd year. I’d gag to be a junior right now.”

Celia rolled her eyes. Kori was so peculiar about some things. It was what made her so interesting.

4. “You called Kori a boy! On multiple occasions.”

“I never said they were a boy.”

“My pronouns are she her, so you basically just said I’m not a girl. Literally just now.”

5. “Where were you guys?” Max asked, having been waiting for Celia all this time. Grey ignored the look he was trying to give him, already aware he was going to comment on Kori���s seemingly bare appearance.

“It wasn’t obvious? Having mind blowing orgasmic sex clearly. Next time I’ll be louder so you know exactly where to find us,” Kori said in an annoyed, monotone voice

6. “People don’t fuck with serial killers so maybe. I think I’m hilarious.” The chilling silence as people tried to determine if Kori was joking or not was always humorous.

“Yeah I know you do. But if you’re in the parent killing gig, I might be willing to sacrifice my own. What’s the general fee?”

“Oh you can’t afford my killing prices. It’s a lot of detail work.”

7. “I could've just told the BSADV the week leading up to the trip,” Kori noted but then she thought about it. The whole reason he wasn’t being squirmy or rambly was because he was too worried he’d harmed her in some way. He’s such a dumbass. The more she thought about this, the funnier it was. She let out an obnoxious laugh and covered her mouth, stifling the trailing chuckles. “Sorry I don’t mean to laugh. I just can’t believe this never crossed your mind. You have to sign a consent waiver to have e-sex, dumbass. Was it actually your first time?”

8. “I’m keeping my eyes peeled and I don’t see anything. Maybe you should pack your glasses when you get back home.”

“How original. Men gaslighting women into disbelieving what they saw. But if it attacked you then I’m a witch, right?” She hung up the pump. “Where am I putting these?”

9. Kori wiped her eyes. “What do you mean? You’re the one who’s dying in bathtubs now. Can you at least try to be a little less cliche?” She tried to joke in her croaky state. She must’ve been too busy crying to notice because as Kori regained clarity in her eyes, she took note of the ice and frost slowly melting off the side of the bathroom’s walls.

10. “Well, you, apparently, are developing early onset Alzheimer's. And Kori, is drunk,” Max leaned over and racked his knuckles on the table right beside Kori’s head. “Levántate.”

Slightly jolted by the knocking, Kori lifted up her head, looking around confused like a lost puppy. “Hm?”

“My point exactly.”

“Excuse me? I am not drunk! I’m just.. you know..” She giggled to herself before she poorly attempted to regain her composure. “No, I'm good. I’m good.”

“So you heard what Dite said then?”

“Mhm... Totally,” She gave an exaggerated headnod, her hand now propped under her chin as her elbow rested on the table.

“Great. What do you think would be a good distraction then?”

“Um..” She looked around the dining area, searching for the magical idea she’d now been prompted to give up.

11. Undead mutants. Undead mutants. Undead mutants. Her humming grew louder as her heart started beating faster. This is how I die. This is how we all die.

12. Kori cleared her throat to clear the air and simultaneously turn the attention towards her, “I’ll stay back. Just in case you guys do get lost. If I see any more skeletons, I might not come back.”

“You’re still on this?” Greyson questioned.

“What do you mean ‘still on’? You saw them!”

He rolled his eyes. Was he.. annoyed with her? Jackass.

“Whatever, I don’t need you to believe me. But, I’m not going. I refuse.”

13. “K–”

‘Can you sign it please? ’

“Oh, um, okay,” Kori rolled back her sleeves, checking the position of her arms before she proceeded. ‘Kori Kim.’

14. “You just got up from a floor covered in dishes.”

“And Kori's arms.” Ayden snickered.

“Repeat that last part for me,” Kori said, shooting him a look that immediately ceased his giggling. “That’s what I thought,” She pulled herself off of the floor and walked past the group. “I’m gonna go take a shower.”

15. Kori shrugged off his persistence. “If they are then so what? I’m a grown fucking adult. I’ll do whatever I so please. That’s my business and mine alone.”

“But what if—“

“I’m going to bed. Maybe you should too,” She snapped, getting up from her seat. She sat her guitar against the wall and stared back at Ayden, waiting for him to get the hint: she was kicking him out.

Kori carefully lifted it off the ground and held it in her hands, the sparkle of excitement in her eyes returning. But when she looked at Grey, she handed it off to him. “I can’t play it. It’s yours. So you have to play it. How about we have a jam sesh instead?”

“A jam sesh?” He repeated.

“Stay right there, I’ll go grab my guitar.” She excused herself from his room for a moment before she quickly returned with guitar in hand. “Okay, I’m ready!”

“I don’t really know how to play any songs though. I never got that far. I only know the basic chords.”

“That’s all you need! A jam sesh is all about going with the flow. Do you think you can handle that?”
