15. something you learned this year

i learned a LOT about pacing! and that i have to really consider how things might be read from a reader's perspective when i'm writing. its super easy for me to think "oh yeah, this totally makes sense" when i know the whole story, hahah. i also learned that i am crap at estimating word counts 🤷‍♀️ (remember when MLT was supposed to be 24 drabbles total ha ha ha ...?)

18. current number of wips

six? everything that's on my wip page is pretty much it. i retired one of my most favorite wips just because i don't think i'll ever have the energy to write it, lol 😭 my biggest priority is finishing MLT, then moving onto the follow-up drabbles for some of my other fics. that wip list may grow once i get more MLT drabble ideas 🤧

25. a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read

AHHHH immediately, my mind springs to @suga-kookiemonster's series ego!!! Ashley's work always has me chuckling at my phone in public like some kind of lunatic bc the humor she writes with is just 💯💯 she wrapped up the series earlier this year and it's just AHHHHHH!! the best. the absolute best. i love the characters so much and continue to miss them :') so many scenes from ego stand out in my brain. i'll just say lecture hall and end it at that 😏

Thank you, everyone, for your words of encouragement. In this short amount of time, I’ve been absolutely overwhelmed with messages of support. I want to reassure you all that I’m by no means as hurt as some of you think, or at least not after so much kindness. I’ve always encouraged all kinds of feedback!! From compliments to constructive criticism. And I’m (supposedly) an Adult™, so I can definitely take someone’s opinion.

Regardless, thank you to everyone who reached out to me. I want to respond to each and everyone of you under this post so I don’t flood other people’s dashes.

Istg Jungle Park is one of the most unexpectedly beloved fics on my blog but I love it hahaha I can’t believe you’ve read it to the point of knowing what chapter is what though. that’s an honour. There’s definitely stories of mine that are less subtle than others, but I’m glad that you enjoy the latter of them too :’) Thank you.

I like to give the benefit of the doubt to anons and anyone sending me a message online in general. God knows there were times I meant well but it was received wrongly. But anyway, my mind was more boggled than I was hurt, that’s one thing for sure.

The message was fine on its own but I think dragging in another writer at the end was definitely not ok. When will comparing writers end. But regardless, gukyi and I are cool with one another - i mean we wrote 100k together so it’s gonna have to take a reverse Zuko arc for us to be on bad terms lol

Tbh, I agree. It’s a matter of opinion and there’s no one wrong in the fight of opinions. As I’ve said many times on my blog, the cringe factor varies between person to person. What someone might think is fluffy is absolutely cringey to another. What someone might think is a good amount of fluff is not enough for someone else. I’ve written a lot. And I’ve made sure to add lots of variations between the amount of romance in my stories. Indeed, some are definitely more subtle and “realistic” while others are completely cheesy and makes me gag from the amount of sugar in it lol I just think the anon should take a look at more of my stories before coming up with such a conclusive opinion.

hiya! so i reread the truth between us recently (you and kina are just too good ugh) and it got me curious: out of all the aus that were in that fic, which au is your favorite?

oooooh this is a hard one !!! i think i’m gonna have to say the last au (dystopian au) because it’s so unlike anything else i’ve ever written !!! you guys have probably figured out that dystopia/sci fi aren’t very plentiful on this blog (ie: they dont exist!) just because i really do love to write things that are pretty grounded in reality, so the dystopian au was fun because it got me out of my comfort zone!

to be quite honest with you, my favorite au was the real world one, but i suppose that that doesn’t count. i care way more about ttbu oc and yoongi than i do any of the universes that they travelled to.

just wanna throw it out there that one of the perks of being a btsficfinds admin is finding new fics through the anons and tbtt was just so good?? like it was angsty but so sweet and i didn't hate reader for leaving joon because it felt understandable. finding out joon wanted to marry her when she decided to leave was just fghjkdh and them getting back together was really gratifying and didn't feel rushed. the end was just cute and fun and it was just such a good read

hmm I think I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with that anon on the emotions thing. I guess I could see it for a couple fics? But to say that all your writing lacks emotion would be unfair. Your fics have made me both stupidly smile and ugly cry. I've felt my heart squeeze in good and bad ways, so there was definitely emotion there (at least for me)! I'm not saying what the anon said is invalid, but I think this might be a matter of opinion.

It’s definitely a blanket statement that I also think is unfair to make. If that anon reads my entire masterlist and still holds the same conviction by the end of it, then I’ll be wholeheartedly convinced.
