Just got done with Blue Beetle watch through #2 and it still was just as exciting as the first time. I did notice some more Easter eggs though. Not too many and one I need to really pay attention to confirm if what I saw, was what I saw.

None of these are really spoilers.

1.) Green Lantern's light in the title sequence attacking the scarabs

2.) Older man that Jaime asked "how he looked" was browsing a dating app and I did not see if their names were clear but the phone was very clear, would be worth paying attention to if any of them have a dc relation.

3.) The street the Reyes live on is El Paso St, a nod to the comics that originally take place in El Paso Texas.

4.) Nana browsing through the TV channels are all foreshadowing including a scene with a golden beetle.

5.) Blue and purple lighting everything everywhere. Everything is bisexual lighting.

6.) Booster Gold (or Ted Kord) drawing on Ted's computer console in the Beetle Cave, I have to look closer next time to see if it was Boost.

7.) News broadcast in Spanish talks about Bruce Wayne, but what, I don't know.

8.) Jaime quotes Mortal Combat move from Scorpion "get over here!" While performing one of Scorpion's moves.

These are just what I noticed casually, if anyone else noticed anything nodding back to the comics or other fun references please add.

I don't think I ever ended up posting the first pass, but in the headverse lore I combined Khaji-Da with Kha-Ef-Re, both as the basis of the Scarab's OS and as a Green Lantern of the species that would one day become The Reach. Khaji's betrayal by her own people became the seed of the Reach's enmity with the Lanterns of Oa in the modern day, beyond the Corps complicated relationship with other major intergalactic powers.

Blood Scarab is still cooking, but they're either a relative or a literal copy of Khaji focused on their rage, the Kha-Ef-Re side of her personality.

Little Barda is just a fun joke, I think it'd be cute if Barda got to explore space and befriended Khaji as a child.

Okay, I watched the Blue Beetle movie and loved it. But uh… was anyone else disappointed that they gave Khaji-Da a feminine voice? Like I never really gave it any thought one way or the other, but I can’t help suspecting that they foresaw Khaime shipping and wanted to be sure to make it not-gay in advance.

I couldn’t help myself after sitting on this idea for weeks

I like to think that once she gets comfortable with being exposed to the rest of the family like this, she gets into all sorts of mischief. Usually targeted at Rudi. When she gets mad at him, she drags his shoes or tools under Jaimes bed, or hides them somewhere he can’t easily find or grab them. Bianca sets up a timeout corner with a cone of shame and sign that says what Khaji did to get put there this time. She also steals Jaime’s hoodies and stuffs them into a corner of his room that only she can access so that she has her own space

She only starts detaching herself like this at Jenny’s place when Jenny and Jaime start initiating in ‘alone time’. She goes ‘Ah NOPE’ and scuttles out of the room and into the nearest small, dark hidey-hole as fast as her little legs can carry her.

I like the idea of Khaji Da being able to "detach" herself from Jaime's spine, like her main body, but shes still connected to him on a cellular level.

Like one day shes like, "ima explore the house" and just Peels Herself off his back and drops to the floor before skittering off.

and no one knows what just happened, their all just staring at her retreating form like "What the fuck just happened?"

Khaji Da does NOT like how vulnerable Jaime is when he’s sleeping. So they resolve that, once Jaime is asleep, they will position themselves into the optimal sleeping situation. Back to the wall (Khaji protected), attached to the corner ceiling (where they can see everything and have a height advantage), and keeping Jaime as close to his usual sleeping position as possible (stomach sleeper).

You may be wondering ‘how is it this gets found out if Khaji makes sure they do it while Jaime is asleep?’ Welllll….
