Thinks about that one Nameless Star in the final world where it's heavily implied regret keeping them stuck in the Final World was leaving behind a child/baby..... Mamanort vibes perhaps

one thing i love about kh 'family tree' diagrams is it rlly drives home how little of the confusing 'who is who and there's two copies of this guy' stuff is related to family, which is i feel where a lot of that stuff comes from in other stories. you don't have a long lost dad, you've been possessed by this old guy. oops! there's no family legacy but you ARE a clone so gl with that! bbs eraqus situation obviously exists but even then it's not blood ties. the fact that blood ties almost universally mean fuck all is actually rlly endearing to me

its interesting to me that the person who faces similar depreciation from others to sora...is demyx. sora himself calls demyx a wimp in kh2. but then xigbar calls sora a wimp in 3d. larxene refers to sora as a toy and "it" in com. larxene refers to demyx as a "thing" in kh3.
although the two ARE different in that demyx may never be taken seriously but he uses that to his advantage. and if it turns out hes mom, theres a layer of deceit in all of his actions. he allows people to look down on him bc it allows him to hide in plain sight.
however, this doesnt mean it wouldnt hurt.

I have a question, WHO NAMED XEHANORT THAT??? Like his name X-No heart??? I’M HOPING HIS MOM DIDN’T OR PLAYER DIDN’T TOO. My only guessing is that people in Scala named him that since darkness was bound to find him if he stayed there.
Now that I’m thinking about it that’s horrible, to carry a child for 9 months just to be a child of prophecy, and that prophecy is that darkness is gonna be after them their whole life, and the only way they can be safe is to be raised on the island.
Then my hometown started calling my unborn No Heart, If I were Xehanort's mom I would hate that town.

ok i’m clearly bored and also hiatus stir crazy so new crack theory is skuld and ava are relatives (hence the narrative pointing out them being similar) and xehanort and his mom are descendants of ava and that’s how they’re still related to skuld and the whole ‘bloodlines’ concept like nomura said remains relevant while subject x skuld remains real

Khux player being a replica created by MoM is such a good theory but it also indirectly means that if ya squint,
MoM was convincing his grandson to commit crimes

Hey, Kingdom Hearts-fans.
What if Ephemer just settled? What if Xehanort's mom looks like Skuld because Ephemer had a type? Did we ever consider that?
Food for thought, I'm just saying.

Realised it’s @khoc-week so even though I don’t have the energy to do it daily have this I did a while ago but never posted.
Arxeht my beloved. They came to me in a dream where I was a replica (of multiple people but looked most like Vidar) made by apprentice Nort/Xemnas, who was the fifteenth member of the organisation and also had my knowledge of hit video games Kingdom Hearts and kept getting randomly thrown through space and time.
#khocweek2024#kh oc#kh ocs#kingdom hearts oc#kingdom hearts original character#Arxeht#blue boi draws#kingdom hearts#kh#Arxeht my beloved I love them#Apprentice Nort started making them to help figure out memories and based them on people he’d get glimpses of in dreams#but he got distracted and only came back and finished them/woke them up around the beginning of Days after Xion#meaning they are theoretically younger then Xion and Roxas but with the way they act and view the others they’re older#they woke up sorta all at once unlike Roxas and Xion. they also have basic knowledge about General Like that the kiddos lack#also their knowledge of how the game plays out is from the perspective of someone who played the games.#like they’d know the ‘press triangle for Sora’ meme and the differences between CoM and ReCoM and refer to time periods by their game name#also VERY AWARE that most kh games are tragedies and desperately trying to change that despite not really having the power to do so#Arxeht is shit at fighting but is saved from getting injured by any time they’re about to get hit it triggers a jump through time/space#and the jumps can be really far and in fast succession. they start a jump in twilight town and are thrown through Daybreak Town#and like two other worlds until they settle and fef a chance to breathe. its handy because they wont die but jumps can happen#in the middle of a conversation or while they’re trying to get somewhere in particular and then suddenly they’re ten years in the past#in a whole different world. it sucks.#can you tell the dream they came from was a stress dream? 90% of what I remember from it was running around trying to get to Xion and Roxas#and keep them safe. the other 10% was the org not knowing what to think of Arx and Xemnas being weird#Arxeht is heart + x in a reflection of Xehanort being no heart + x btw. that did not come from the dream I made it awake#Xemnas was weird he had a very distant vaguely amused view on everything Arxeht was doing I don’t think he ever thought of them as a threat#unlike Xigbar who was concerned which is fair because Arxeht knew he was Luxu and about MoM and stuff#the time jumps can get really long as well but tend to avoid kh era?? days onwards and bbs and before is fair game but they dont actually#meet Sora until kh2.#their main power is information. they know who people are and what’s going on and they are constantly trying to tell people during the

So... I've been meaning to make this posts for years, but fear kind of kept me from doing so (I thought I'd be raked over the coals for making this comparison, but maybe not). But you know what? I no longer care.
Kairi's treatment in KHIII somewhat reminds me of early Tifa Lockhart. And if Square Enix has any brains, they'll follow through with making her proper-Tifa Lockhart-esque.
Why does KHIII Kairi remind me of early Tifa Lockhart? Because a young Tifa started her training (martial arts training), and had so much promise, but took on Sephiroth before she was ready (who, to be fair, is a super-soldier for those who don't know: a SOLDIER. She was also grief-stricken there, after Sephiroth had burnt her village to the ground and murdered her father, so it was not a fair fight), and he nearly murders her (she's fatally wounded by him, that is, and only quick surgery time saves her).
And it reminds me of how in KHIII, Kairi gets training--has lots of potential--but fights in this war she really shouldn't be in at all (based on her skills at that point), and is thus killed.
Years later, Tifa has gotten much stronger and isn't going to make the same mistakes from before. And guess what? She gets to help bring down the man who has traumatized her so much, and nearly killed her before--as she fights to save the world:
Reminds me of how in Re:Mind (pun intended), after Sora brings Kairi back, she gets to fight alongside Sora (much stronger than she was the rest of the game), and end the evil reign of the man who had murdered her.
No one would ever put down Tifa Lockhart... so why are we so quick to demonize Kairi before her own arc is done?
I understand a lot of it is because how she's been treated in the past, truly I do. I'm right there with you in hating most of that. There's even so much in KHIII I don't like, and would have written so much differently. But we're about to start a new saga, and have some new writers on the scene, so let's cross our fingers that with some new eyes on the script, Kairi could finally get her dues.
