NIKKI SIXX: 'What I Don't Like About Media Is They Don't Do Their Research'
In a recent interview with Razor from Tucson, Arizona’s Rock 102.1 KFMA, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx explained his recent remark about not currently having a reason to return to the studio with his bandmates to record new music. “I don’t have a lot of respect for the way media handles themselves in general, whether it’s political or rock media or whatever it might be,” Nikki said (as…

IN THIS MOMENT's MARIA BRINK On 'Godmode': 'I Haven't Been This Excited For One Of Our Albums In A Really Long Time'
IN THIS MOMENT guitarist Chris Howorth and singer Maria Brink recently spoke to Razor of the Tucson, Arizona radio station Rock 102.1 KFMA about the band's upcoming eighth studio album, "Godmode", which will be released on October 27 via BMG. Asked how the new LP is different from the band's previous efforts, Chris said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "It differs in a lot of ways. One big way is the fact that COVID happened and we had this break to actually organically come up with ideas versus having to, 'Oh, gosh. We have an album coming up. We have to do this right now,' and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and just forcing ourselves to do music if maybe we didn't really feel it at the time or whatever. We had the time to come up with the music and the ideas for 'Godmode' [while we were off the road]. So that's hugely different from all of our other things in the past. And then also what happened was our producer that we normally work with, Kevin Churko, we've been working with him for every album we've done except our first one and 'Godmode'. We ended up hiring his son Kane, and Kane has worked with us on all of our big songs and all of our albums, but he's kind of been under his dad's wing and under the radar and so him in [the studio with us] is a fresh energy as well and he's hungry to prove that he's a kickass, badass producer and he knows working with us is gonna be different and huge for him. And just that whole energy together with our energy made this completely different."
Added Maria: "I think Chris just said it mostly, but, yeah, it was everything that we had experienced going into… We were writing from this place where me and Chris really were meshing; everything he was sending me I was loving. Me and Chris have been known to go back and forth as far as maybe we're not in the same place emotionally when we go into an album and we've been known to butt heads here and there, where this was, like, everything he was sending me, I was, like, 'Oh my God. I love this. This is amazing.' Everything was just… unfolded…. I couldn't have asked for a better way. Same with Kane and working with Tyler Bates and just all the different things that were coming to life for the album. And definitely it's heavier. I was going into this in a more emotional, visceral, kind of wanting to release a bunch of built up pressure inside of me. So I think people definitely are gonna hear that in the album. I haven't been this excited for one of our albums in a really long time, so I'm excited for the world to hear [it]."
"Godmode" was recorded at Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada with producers Kane Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, PAPA ROACH, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH) and Tyler Bates ("John Wick" movies, Jerry Cantrell, BUSH).

i decided to show off my favorite albums. i intended to do a top five, but quickly realized i can’t narrow it down to anything below 20 lol
so, here they are in no particular order:
1: this is a 45 by the band scream, which is one of dave grohls bands before he joined nirvana. my favorite song on this one is mardi gras.
2: this is another 45. it’s by jimmy page and is one of the few records that you can hear him sing on. my favorite song is she just satisfies.
3: another 45 of two covers by laura marling, recorded at third man records. my favorite song is her version of neil young’s the needle and the damage done.
4: this is another 45 by jack white, i believe featured in the movie it might get loud. there’s only one song on it: fly farm blues.
5: this is the glorified (rare sessions 92-93) by pearl jam. my favorite song here is daughter, performed live in mesa, arizona for the mt. graham benefit, broadcasted on kfma radio.
6: this is soundgardens 92 lollapalooza show. my favorite song, which features eddie vedder, is outshined.
7: then we have temple of the dog! my favorite song is hunger strike.
8: and then there’s the album i’ve wanted on vinyl for at least a decade: pearl jam’s mtv unplugged. i can’t pick a favorite song - so i’ll just say the entire album.
9: this is mother love bone’s apple! favorite song is this is shangrila.
10: this is flower by soundgarden - my favorite is just the whole thing.
11: this is vs. by pearl jam. my favorite song is probably either w.m.a., glorified g or rats.
12: now for pearl jam’s ten! my favorite song here is release.
13: another scream album! my favorite song is crackman, maybe.
14: now for soundgardens hands all over. my favorite song on here is hands all over.
15: the is the white stripes live in mississippi. my favorite here is i’m slowly turning into you.
16: now for regina spektor’s far! i’m really into blue lips.
17: now for soundgardens live on i-5. my favorite song is nothing to say, performed in seattle.
18: this is avenged sevenfolds nightmare. i have a soft spot for fiction.
19: this is the stray cats built for speed. my favorite song here is stray cat strut.
20: and last but not least, the raconteurs broken boy soldier. my favorite song is hands.
anywho... now to attempt to put all these back.

THE PRETTY RECKLESS's TAYLOR MOMSEN Isn't Opposed To Acting Again: 'Never Say Never'
Taylor Momsen says that she is no longer opposed to taking acting jobs again.
THE PRETTY RECKLESS singer started acting at the age of two, though her breakout role came in 2000, at the age of seven, when she played Cindy Lou Who in the live action adaptation of "How The Grinch Stole Christmas", starring Jim Carrey. Seven years later, she rose to fame as Jenny Humphrey in the CW's hit teen drama "Gossip Girl". She ended up leaving the show for good after the fourth season, insisting she was taking a break from Hollywood. She later told various media outlets that she was "not pursuing" acting at all, saying that "it feels like a past life."
Asked in a new interview with the Rock 102.1 KFMA radio station whether she still feels like acting is behind her and she is fully committed to her music career, Taylor said (hear audio below): "Rock and roll is forever a mainstay — I will never not play rock and roll music; I'm gonna be playing rock and roll music till I'm dead. For a long time, I said I'd never act again, but I've gotten older now, and who knows? It's not something I'm actively pursuing in any way, but never say never, I guess."
She went on to break down the differences between playing rock and roll and acting, saying: "It's just so different. It's so my vision, music — from the music to the visuals to the live shows to everything; I'm in charge of all of it. Getting to see that through, it really feeds my creative soul, whereas acting, it was much of a job for me — kind of show up, do the job and go home. I'm not involved in any of the creative of it… [Music is] so personal that you can't beat it."
Momsen recently confirmed in a separate interview with Detroit radio station WRIF that RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE guitarist Tom Morello guests on THE PRETTY RECKLESS's upcoming album, "Death By Rock And Roll". Morello appears on a track called "And So It Went".
Morello joins previously announced guests Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron from SOUNDGARDEN. The song with Cameron and Thayil, called "Only Love Can Save Me Now", was recorded at Seattle's legendary London Bridge Studios, where seminal LPs like PEARL JAM's "Ten" and SOUNDGARDEN's "Louder Than Love" were laid down.
"Death By Rock And Roll", the fourth studio album from THE PRETTY RECKLESS, will arrive in late 2020 or early 2021. It will follow up 2016's "Who You Selling For", which featured the rock radio hits "Oh My God", "Back To The River" and "Take Me Down".
