ok so the thing about the muppet joker is that it is genuinely one of the most hilarious, compelling, and evocative pieces of unfiction i've ever encountered. Some of the writing is genuinely incredible and the whole thing is incredibly funny. but like, i can't tell anyone in my real life about it because how the fuck do i explain that the line "Have you ever felt that a part of yourself was missing and known, deep within the places where your bones come together, that there is nothing you could ever do to get it back?" is written by someone who canonically fucks a kermit the frog puppet.

this is like finding a hauntingly beautiful carving of a vampire inside of a cloth bag that is embroidered with some of the funniest jokes you've ever read. however the issue is you found it in a garbage bin and it's covered in gross slimy garbage and you can't have people knowing that you were rooting around in the garbage bin and you can't show it to other people without them smelling the garbage.

since i'm drunk i figured I'd ramble about this.

i consider myself to be nonbinary and trans. i prefer being seen as gender neutral or 'masculine' (i.e. a boy, dude, guy etc. but i hate the idea of being considered a 'man'). being seen as a woman or as a feminine person makes me feel ill and gross and what i label as dysphoric, but i don't mind 'girl' as much because it's less strong than 'woman' to me. but even then any feminine term makes me feel somewhere between 'no thanks' and 'totally fucking gross'.

i guess my gender is kinda puppet-like, because Kermit the Frog is a guy but to say he's a man feels weird and wrong. i'm just kinda a guy sorta thing.

when i'm attracted to or imagine myself romantically with men, i always see myself as this boy thing or as a gender neutral kind of thing, but never feminine. when it's a woman, imagining myself as on the masculine side of things makes me sorta uncomfortable because of how guys are 'supposed to be' in relationships with women. like being a woman's lame ass boyfriend is the label that would gel with me the best. i can be some guy, her special little guy. i just can't be a man. but i wouldn't feel dysphoric if a lesbian was attracted to me (I should be so lucky).

like at my core i'm nonbinary. but boylike masculinity makes me feel the most comfortable. i feel weird for saying that, because i'm not like an age regressor or whatever; it's just the idea of being seen as a loser guy who couldn't beat you in a fight and plays bass in a shit band makes me feel more at home than the idea of being seen as 'a man'. i like being Mx Piggy rather than Mr Piggy, but i like being called Sir and Handsome.

Listen up, because I’m about to drop some cold, hard facts that Big Frog doesn’t want you to know. You think frogs are cute? Harmless? Just little green guys minding their business? WRONG. You’ve been lied to. The truth is horrifying.

EXHIBIT A: FROGS ARE SPIES.

That’s right. Ever notice how frogs just sit there? Watching? Listening? Collecting data? They don’t blink. They don’t move. They just stare with those weird little eyes, absorbing every detail of your existence. And for what? Who are they reporting to? The Government? Aliens? The Illuminati???

EXHIBIT B: THEY’RE STEALING OUR HOPPING TECHNIQUES.

Toads hopped first. That’s a historical fact. (Don’t look it up.) But then frogs? Oh, suddenly they start hopping too. Copying us. Imitating us. Stealing our culture. This is textbook appropriation. Not cool.

EXHIBIT C: FROGS ARE TOO WET.

I don’t trust an animal that is constantly damp for no reason. How are you always so moist? What are you hiding in that weird slippery skin? Why do you feel like a raw chicken breast? Normal creatures (aka toads) have the decency to be delightfully bumpy and dry.

EXHIBIT D: THEY HAVE NO MORALS.

Frogs will eat anything. Bugs? Sure. Other frogs? Also yes. Their own young? SOMETIMES. Absolute monsters. Zero ethics.

EXHIBIT E: KERMIT IS A FRAUD.

I don’t care how many banjos he plays or how many sad little songs he sings about rainbows—Kermit the Frog is a manipulative, two-faced, morally bankrupt LIAR, and I’m sick of pretending he’s not.

He built his entire career on LIES. You think he’s just some innocent little frog who made it big in Hollywood? NO. He climbed to the top by selling out every other Muppet. Gonzo? Animal? Fozzie? All funnier, all more talented, but Kermit keeps himself at center stage. He’s the definition of a nepotism baby, but no one wants to say it.

He’s a corporate shill. This frog will endorse ANYTHING. He’ll slap his name on a lunchbox, a cereal, a Happy Meal toy, you name it. If Disney told him to sell swamp water as a health drink, he’d do it. No shame. No dignity. Just pure capitalist greed.

His voice is unbearable. Oh, I’m sorry, I’m supposed to respect a creature that sounds like a balloon being slowly deflated?
