So, wouldn't it be fun if, when the Cataclysm happens, we temporarily enter a trial stage where we can see what the rest of Teyvat is doing while we're (presumably) in Khaenri'ah?

Like, Paimon makes an off-handed remark about how she hopes our friends are alright before we enter a domain, and next thing you know, we're playing as Jean back in Mondstadt, following her as she orders the knights to defend the city, before finding out to the Cathedral has been targeted and running up the flights of stairs alongside Lisa, Noelle, Mika and Eula. Once they reach the Cathedral, they rush to the basement alongside Barbara, only to find Albert rifling through priceless artifacts.

Then Albert reveals himself to be an Abyss Herald, saying how he spent the past years pretending to be an unsettling Barbara fan so he could be near the Cathedral and figure out the building's layout, as well as learn more about Barbatos.

We then beat him up for it. (I just want an excuse to beat up Albert). And, after the battle is over, Barbara wonders about Rosaria's whereabouts.

Rosaria is currently rushing through Springvale, trying to reach Wolvendom to see if Razor is alright. Diona, Bennet and Fischl are following her, alongside Draff and a few hunters.

They fight alongside Andrius and a pack of wolves, fending off the Abyss, especially the rifthounds (the people of Springvale evacuated to Mondstadt City).

And, just as the next wave of monsters appears, we cut to Dawn Winery, where Diluc, Kaeya and Amber are protecting the estate. (Assuming Kaeya is in Mond and not fighting his demons back in Khaenri'ah).

Meanwhile, in Dragonspine, Albedo, Mona, Klee and Sucrose are fending off a bunch of Abyssal monsters with the help of Albedo's siblings (there's an entire pack of rifthounds circling the group in a protective manner).

Then we hear an earth-shattering roar and a revived Durin suddenly takes to the sky, starting the final segment of the Mond Cataclysm fight, where we accompany Dvalin, Durin and Venti in a battle in the skies, the old foes now allies.

Then we jump from region to region, finding out how our friends are doing while the world burns to the ground.

Notable mentions that I'll probably include in another post at a later date include:

- Qiqi healing Millelith soldiers while Keqing fends off the Abyss;

- Hu tao, Shenhe and Baizhu dealing with restless spirits in Wuwang Hill;

- Rhodeia single-handledly protecting Qingce Village with a thousand Hydro mimics;

- The Akitsu Kimodameshi Youkai children attempting to protect other kids in Hanamizaka, and when that almost fails, Itto and Yoimiya swoop in to protect the kids;

- Sara, Heizou, Kokomi and Gorou working together to fend off monsters coming from the Dark Sea to Watatsumi, with Raiden on the frontlines;

- Yae sending out fox spirits to protect Narukami Island from atop the Shrine;

- Xiao, Yelan and Yanfei fighting at the Chasm;

- Wanderer fighting alongside the Pari before returning to Sumeru city to help Nahida;

- Nahida and the Aranara coordinating efforts to protect and guide all the people of Sumeru, be if by offering protection or providing oasis and safe havens;

- The Akasha being temporarily back so the entire regionof Sumeru is connected, with eremites and people from the rainforest sharing knowledge, be it the location of enemies, evacuation routes or first-aid tips. The children and elderly are also swapping stories, to calm each other down and avoid panicking;

- Nilou is guarding the Sanctuary of Surasthana, not that anyone is getting near Sumeru city, what with the green shield of Dendro and Apep looming in the background;

- Lyney and Lynette looking for Freminet, only to see a gigantic hydro construct of Pers fighting a Wolflord alongside the Salon Solitaire (Freminet and Furina besties agenda);

- Enemies such as Treasure Hoarders and Fatui fighting alongside the playable characters against the Abyss.

anyway, if you look at free to play guides and articles, recommending 4 stars only teams, and these team don't work for you, it's not just "skill issue". tho ofc average player will not have as much practice as ppl who play this game for a living. artifacts play a huge role, if you don't have good artifacts, even broken 5 stars won't help in the abyss, at least.

but also, these guides almost always use c6 r5 characters without mentioning, and for many 4 star constellations matter SO MUCH. some characters straight up unplayable without cons.

so i wanted to go thru the list of most popular meta 4 stars and list the importance of their cons and weapons just so you can have reference if it makes sense for you to use them:

Xiangling - literally unplayable in serious abyss teams before C4. C4 gives plus 40% burst duration, at which point she's broken. She wants r5 catch or basically any 5 star spear, as long as you have like 200% er. 4 piece emblem set, no options, crit hat, pyro cup, er\em\atk sands, should have at least 100 EM overall.

Bennet - his importance con is C1, bc otherwise he either heals or gives atk buff, but most teams that want him will be ok with C0 Benny. Unless it's a nche team that relies on Benny's pyro infusion, then only C6. wants a sword with highest base attack you have. skyward blade is probably his best option bc it has er and high base atk, aquila favonia has higher atk, but you'll need more er, for f2p options sumeru craftable sword is best option, but if your team REALLY struggles with energy, you can use favonius sword. benny's weapon needs to be max level.

Xingqiu - C0 feels so bad to play, bc it's so hard to get enough energy off-field. Teams that want him like pyro carries with vape or hyperbloom will still be playable, but just feel kinda bad. Starts feeling ok at C2, at C6 becomes comparable to C0 Yelan. Wants sacrificial sword R5 or at least R3, if your sac sword is lower than r3, it's better to use favonius sword. 4 piece emblem set or 4 piece noblesse set if used with hypercarries like arle who cares about atk. use ER sands if you can't get enough energy to burst off cool down.

Fischl - pretty good at C0, but truly broken at C6. Wants stringless bow or 5 star bows. 4 piece golden troupe best option, but can work with thundering fury or combos of 2 pieces

Yao Yao - actual free to play hero, already great at C0, her cons basically don't matter. Event hp healer staff or just fav lance is good. if used in a team with majority dendro damage like alhaitham or tighnari, etc, then use deepwood, if used to just proc aggravate with like clorinde\keqing\yae\raiden + fischl, then 4 piece instructor is her best option.

Sucrose - becomes playable at C1. When guides say she's as good as kazuha, they mean C6, and it's a lie anyway, bc what they mean is that on paper damage calculations are similar. But in actual play her grouping is nowhere near kazuha and her burst actually ungroups enemies when unlucky. Wants sacrificial fragments and 4 piece vv with EM stats, no options.

Kuki - another f2p hero and hyperbloom goddess, good at C0, great at C2, immortal at C6. get as much EM as you can on her, should be near 1000, weapon usually iron sting. doesnt care about ER or anything else, minmax EM

Chevreuse - already good at C0 if you have strong pyro or electro carries. at C6 pretty broken. ONLY good in teams with only pyro and electro, nothing else, both need to be there. wants HP stats.

Beidou - good against 2+ enemies, but CANNOT trigger hyperbloom. Can be okay at C0, good at C4, pretty good at C6.

Thoma - for burgeon can use C0.

Layla - decent shield only after C2.

Noelle - usually shown in Furina teams as a driver, becomes decent at C6.

I don’t know if you’ve done this before but could you do headcanons for a reader who’s lumine’s traveling partner and when their in liyue (I don’t remember how it’s spelt 🥲) Qiqi randomly starts addressing them as her parent, uhhh what’s the reaction of the liyue crew (who kinda have feels for reader) when reader just accepts it and calls her their daughter

But hes sure also very happy. At first he was worried, you could hurt her or play around with her forgetfull mind. But you didn't, you helped even more and then he was relieved. What a relief no he doesn't have to poison you---

Hes even prouer when qiqi seemed to have thought you some things about herbs. It was for sure a accident she did but now you can even help around in Bubu pharmacy with little to no struggle

All three of them are taken aback by the cuteness overload of it all. Although Ganyu was more open to show how soft you made her feel with you parently behavior

¡! ❞ whenever Ningguang is in Liyue she will pay Bubu pharmacy a visit just to see you two acting along. She might even give you some Mora for Qiqi like a sugar mommy--but mostly because her heart is aching for you and your attention-pls visit her in the Jade palace too, you might also bring Qiqi along for a evening tea! Be careful to not let her fall down tho---

Who are the easiest characters for you to write?

Hey there! Those would be characters with strong, distinctive personalities. The more unique a character is, the easier it is to make something interesting for them. Here are a few examples to hopefully portray my way of thinking. Ei, Eula, Mona, Miko, Chiori and Itto are all characters with clear and vibrant personalities. Their mannerisms of speech and elements of their disposition are always around, so visible that anybody can read them through their dialogues.

Ayato, Xilonen, Thoma and Keqing are on the harder side of things. Their personalities are very "normal" - they feel like warm water tastes. They have less I can work with than the above group.

And finally, we have characters that are either the exact same or very close to those I already covered in, for example, headcanons. Mualani is just... mesoamerican Yoimiya that likes surfing and being a tour guide. Dehya is Beidou with a different coat of paint (a nicer one), but the same core personality. The challenge with them is to try and make them act distinctly enough to avoid being repetitive. It's a matter of context as well. But regardless, hope this made sense! I'm half asleep, so sorry if it didn't... (And thank you for asking. Really. It's been so long since I talked to my readers. Sometimes I forget there are actual people reading my stuff. What too few comments does to a mf, right?)

MY FRIEND, I have SO MANY genshin fics half written or at the very least outlined, are you sure you want to ask me this question? Do you really want to be stuck here for the next 10 mins? HAHA anyways, not all of them will be Venti-centric or even have Venti in it, despite my Venti-obsession, but now that Venti Can Do What He Wants is complete, these are the fics on my priority list:

Xiao-centric + Chongyun + Xingqiu: an adeptal guide to gardening

First chapter is already on Ao3. Basically, Xiao ends up investigating a strange domain that lures people in with illusions of their loved ones with the help of Chongyun and Xingqiu. The short summary is: Xiao's Very Bad, No Good Babysitting Adventure, only it turns out that being around mortal children is very good for one's soul.

Venti crack (one-shot): Congratulations! You've Been Excavated!

Venti being friends with the adepti and they often grumble about how their domains keep getting broken into and excavated by humans like "they took my favorite tea set and now its in a museum!!" And Venti doesn't have a palace to excavate so he always thinks it's SO HILARIOUS. Then, one day, he settles down in a sealed domain for a nap-- and wakes up, wings and all, in this Sleeping Beauty-esque glass case in the church, because humans stumbled into his domain and lovingly excavated HIM. (The adepti have been waiting 50 years for him to wake up so they can laugh in his face about it.)

Keqing grieving the death of Rex Lapis (one-shot)

Fic takes place during the Liyue AQ after the Rite of Descension and Rex Lapis' "death" but before he tells the Qixing that he's still alive at the end of the AQ. Basically, Keqing coming to realize that she's actually a bit traumatized from seeing her god's "dead body" falling from the sky, and also realizing that she's grieving him. She wanted Liyue to be governed by humans, but she didn't want him DEAD, and now she feels guilty and paranoid that other people must be thinking "are you happy? you got what you wanted!" But in the end, she finds solidarity with other people and realizes no one will judge her for grieving.

Scara-centric 3 part series: dealing with his relationship with gods

Basically it deals with Scara having to find a purpose that isn't the gnosis, and also dealing with like... I think "making amends", like in Simulanka he talks briefly with Mini-Durin about Mini-Durin being like "but what if they don't accept my apology." And I was thinking a lot about wiping himself from existence makes it impossible to seek forgiveness from those he has hurt (including Nahida), and impossible to demand explanations from people who have hurt him (Ei), so he can also never find closure. But this fic has him meeting three different gods, and finding closure through the realizations that kinda incites in him. The first part deals with Scara's relationship with Nahida. The second has him leaving Nahida's side to wander the wilderness after she bids him to find a purpose and soul search, where he gets PLAGUED RELENTLESSLY BY A WEIRD GREEN BARD WHO KEEPS TRYING TO GIVE HIM BAD ADVICE, then the last part has him finally travelling to Inazuma where he meets Ei, has a heart to heart with her after having the mother of all Ei-induced breakdowns, and finally finds closure.

Kavetham / Haikaveh: Kaveh builds Nahida a home

After being invited to see the Sanctuary of Surasthana, and being asked what he thinks about it, Kaveh absent-mindedly says that it's grand, but there's nothing in it that makes it a home. He's super mortified and apologizes for it, but some days later, Nahida calls him back, and commissions him to renovate the Sanctuary and make it into a home. In the process of building her a home, he has to reflect on "what makes a house a home", which slowly leads him towards the realization that home is with Alhaitham (and that he's been in love with Alhaitham for years.) In the backdrop: Nahida, upon completion of renovations, invites Kaveh (who is now a dear friend) to move into her second guest room. And Kaveh is like ha, oh yeah, I've been wanting to move out for awhile, yes, I should move out. And Nahida is like "I feel I've made a terrible mistake" and then "if I can make him realize he's in love with Alhaitham, I can fix this" and then "he realized his feelings!" ... "he thinks its unrequited" "I NEED TO CONVINCE HIM ITS REQUITED" ... "I am unable to convince him its requited" and she keeps trying to get Scara (who is living in the other guest room) to HELP her, but he only gives bad advice!! Basically, mutual pining with a Scara & Nahida CIRCUS in the background.

NSFW: Zhongvenxiao fuck or die (short title: "Rock Paper Scissors")

Xiao has narrowly survives a serious karmic debt episode, but is left completely drained in the aftermath. To aid in his recovery, Cloud Retainer in her capacity as a healer recommends an infusion of energy through dual cultivation (FUCKING) and divine energy would be most efficacious but if any of you are unwilling, an adeptus could also suffice-- ZHONGVEN: WE ARE WILLING. And then they argue fiercely over who gets to fuck Xiao which leads to Xiao walking out to check if they've murdered each other and they're playing ROCK PAPER SCISSORS OVER IT. Anyway its crack and porn and a threesome eventually happens, but Zhongven bicker the WHOLE time and Xiao is slowly losing his sanity because of it.

And then there are three that aren't outlined like the others are and are kinda still floating in my head, but I'm interested in writing them:

Jean & Venti fic: Venti age-regresses and Jean takes care of him

Venti exhausts himself trying to take care of a "resentful god remnants" problem in Stormterror's Lair and regresses to the age right after he first took the Bard's form and ascended, with only Jean around. Largely, I was very AHHH about the idea of Venti having to deal with a body he doesn't even know how to move in, and the humans are afraid of him, and Gunnhildr being the only one who believed in him, who carried him from Decarabian's tower when he didn't know how to walk in a human form yet. And now Jean taking her place, carrying him from that same tower, and living this almost reverent sense of "what my ancestor did for him, I do for him now" while also dealing with this shift in her head of "being the protected" to "being the protector."

Scara & Cyno: Scara sucks at pretending to be Just Some Guy

So I feel I have this "Outsider POV & Identity Shenanigans" thing going on. I have another fic, Mr Zhongli Is Very Strange which is Xiangling finding out Zhongli's identity because he sucks at pretending to be human. Venti Can Do What He Wants is about Kaeya finding out Venti's identity because Venti doesn't care about pretending to be human. Now, I want to have "Cyno finds out Scara is an ex-Fatui Harbinger because Scara is can't and doesn't care to stop BITCHING about the other harbingers every time they are brought up in front of him."

Venti crack: The Great Adventure of The 137 Lies In 12 Hours

Basically, a "Concerned About Venti's Living Situation" network begins to form in Mondstadt where a bunch of adults basically suspect Venti is a homeless orphan kid and are trying to figure out if Venti even has a home, is he okay, does he need help? Eventually, they stage An Intervention and 3 NPCs are appointed to confront Venti about it. And it's not supposed to be an interrogation but its effectively an interrogation, except Venti just keeps giving out all these really wild answers like "Yes I was born in Mondstadt and err as for the reason why I've not been seen in the city before... it's because I was raised by wolves. No really, just ask Andrius, he'll vouch for me." Which eventually begins the wildest roadtrip in the history of roadtrips, with Venti dragging them all over Mondstadt and then Liyue to meet the people who will vouch for his lies, except all of them are SUCH bad liars that he has to keep coming up with more lies like "I WAS RAISED BY WOLVES, JUST ASK ANDRIUS" "okay, so the truth is that I was raised by Dvalin" "I WAS RAISED BY AN ADEPTUS WHO LIVES ON MT AOCANG" "actually the adeptus lives in wangshu inn sorry I got it wrong" "it looks like I can't hide it anymore... the truth is... I am Morax" "my dad is Mr Zhongli at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor" "I AM MORAX WHY WON'T YOU BELIEVE ME???"

⚠️ CRINGE FANFIC PAST THE BREAK ⚠️

"Keqing..." Ganyu murmured, "your form?" She lazily placed her fingers atop Keqing's wrists, guiding them. "Would you like me to remind you?" she continued.

Keqing's posture stiffened slightly and her eyes widened for a moment. Ganyu's breath tickled the back of Keqing's neck, causing jolts of Electro to dance down her spine. She slowly turned her head while cracking a shaking smile.

"Yes- I mean- No, I remember. Straight wrists. To line up with the force of the weapon, right?" Following the pressure of Ganyu's fingers, Keqing started relaxing her wrists.

"Mmhmm, better," said Ganyu, yawning.

Ganyu's morning voice took out whatever parts of Keqing's brain were still functioning. Her mind was sent swimming. She couldn't help but notice how the groggy morning Ganyu was a bit more informal, a bit less reserved...

These archery lessons would be more affecting than Keqing anticipated.

I want to believe that Ganyu uses war bows with serious draw weight: she fought in a war, didn't she? So, God as my witness, she should have the muscles to do that.

I bet Ganyu's lat spread is crazy. Wings and horns? Is she an alicorn? buffalo wild wings?

I also don't personally ship these two very hard, but just Aesthetically though?

I had a lot of fun with this one. For the sake of learning, I tried using no blending (full cell shading), no blending layers, and choosing every color using the color wheel. I definitely wouldn't do it this way again, but it felt instructive!

I think i'm gonna draw some class of '09 next because if i don't get some of this out of my system i'm gonna be watching jeckole animatics forever

a quick guide to hyperbloom triggers

hello everyone! Today I have a quick guide for you guys on hyperbloom triggers. Before I get into it, let's talk about what exactly a hyperbloom trigger is

╰┈❥➔ a "hyperbloom trigger" is the electro character in your hyperbloom team responsible for triggering hyperblooms

so, why does this matter? choosing the right character and build to trigger your hyperbloom teams is important to having an actually functioning team. depending on who is (or isn't!) triggering hyperbloom, your character builds and even team archetypes will change.

to start, here's a quick introduction/recap on hyperbloom teams

・❥・ a hydro character

・❥・ a dendro character

・❥・ an electro "hyperbloom trigger" on full em + 4pc gilded dreams

・❥・ 1 character on 4pc deepwood memories. any member of the team except the hyperbloom trigger can run this set. yes, even your hydro or flex slot (4th slot) character can run it! note that only one character should have it, otherwise you are wasting the 4pc effect

now, let's get into the most important part: hyperbloom triggers!

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ the 3 types of electro characters in hyperbloom

there are 3 different "types" of electro characters when it comes to hyperbloom teams. these are:

・❥・full hyperbloom trigger. this character will consistently trigger all of your bloom cores. your team should only have 1 of these characters. this is because having 2 full em triggers does nothing and if only 1 hyperbloom trigger is full em, the other will "steal" dendro cores but cause them to deal less damage

・❥・ semi-hyperbloom trigger. this character will trigger some bloom cores but will do it less consistently than full hyperbloom triggers. Oftentimes these characters will turn your team into a "quickbloom team". more on this later!

・❥・ non-hyperbloom triggering. these characters can be slotted in for other purposes without interrupting your hyperbloom trigger

note: these are not official/widely used terms. i'm just giving the different roles names to make it easier to refer back to them

next, let's break each role down one-by-one to better understand it

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ full hyperbloom trigger

your best options for a full hyperbloom trigger are Kuki Shinobu and Raiden Shogun (elemental skill)

Lisa played on field can also work

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ semi-hyperbloom trigger

to go in-depth on semi-hyperbloom triggers, let's talk about quickbloom

"quickbloom" is a team archetype for hyperbloom. In a quickbloom team, dendro core production is lower in order to maintain a quicken aura on the enemy. The lower core production and translates into less hyperbloom triggering which allows you to invest in both EM and personal damage for your semi-hyperbloom trigger.

so, the best options for electro characters in hyperbloom teams are semi-hyperbloom triggers with good personal damage, allowing them to deal both electro and hyperbloom damage. Semi-hyperbloom triggers usually don't run 4pc gilded dreams

that being said, here are your options for semi-hyperbloom triggers aka quickbloom characters

・❥・Cyno is probably the best option for quickbloom as it is his best-preforming team. I might reccomend against pulling Cyno just for quickbloom unless you already wanted him

・❥・Yae Miko can work for quickbloom as her triggering of bloom cores is kinda inconsistent

・❥・Keqing is viable for quickbloom but it isn't her best team. I personally play her in quickbloom with Furina and it's lots of fun!

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ non-hyperbloom triggers

this section might seem a bit weird because a character that won't trigger hyperbloom doesn't seem very useful for a hyperbloom team.

But, slotting in one of these characters (4th slot/flex slot) can bring a lot of benefits such as energy or damage! Let's look at the best options for electro characters that won't trigger hyperbloom

・❥・Fischl's Oz doesn't really often hyperblooms so she's a great option

・❥・Beidou pretty much never triggers hyperbloom so she's a great options

note: non-hyperbloom triggers often end up triggering a super small amount of hyperblooms. Luckily this number is low enough to not really cause an issue

Honestly the way you explain “how to build” (can’t think of a better way to describe it) is so much easier to follow like, What dendro reaction needs what when building. Every guide I find explains it in such a confusing manner

thank you, i enjoy infodumping about genshin builds\combat, feel free to ask if you want me to explain smth <3 tho i dont think i even explained dendro reactions on that post, bc it was mostly focused on specific question of EM on dendro traveler. overall for dendro reactions:

hyperbloom: dendro and hydro stats don't matter, what matters is producing as much seeds as possible, which means having consistent and fast application of the element. more seeds = more hyperblooms = bigger damage. what matters for hyperbloom damage is having as much EM on electro as possible, preferably around 900-1000, AND electro who can trigger seeds consistently, like raiden or kuki. like, beidou will not trigger seeds at all, fischl will miss most of them, so they won't work. There should be at least one character on deepwood set in hyperbloom.

aggravate: dendro stats don't matter, you just need consistent application off-field, bc dendro is just there to let electro dps trigger aggravate, which amplifies electro damage. but someone like nahida can use offensive build, bc she can apply dendro off-field and do decent spread damage too. Electro carry needs BOTH EM and attack, and crit build. Attack is more important, but get at least about 200 EM. example of aggravate team: keqing, kazuha (for electro buff), fischl, yao yao. yao yao here doesn't need deepwood set, bc she's doing no damage herself

burgeon works basically same as hyperbloom, except it's your pyro who should be able to consistently trigger seeds and be built on full EM.

spread - electro stats don't matter, but if you have off-field electro sub dps like fischl, then they should be on aggravate build. if its healer like kuki, then it doesn't matter. Spread carries - Alhaitham, Nahida, Tighnari, - need both EM and attack, but prioritize EM sands. Preferably should have at least 300-400 EM. Example: Alhaitham crit build with EM and attack, kuki as healer, nahida as sub dps build crit + EM, fischl for additional aggravate dmg. In spread team, at least one dendro should be on Deepwod set, usually its sub dps or healer like yao yao.

You can combine these reactions into teams. As I said, dendro stats don't matter for hyperbloom, which is why Alhaitham is so strong, - bc he can be hyperbloom driver WHILE on crit dps spread build, so you get both full hyperbloom damage and his personal spread damage. Electro carries can't really do that as efficiently, bc again, hyperbloom wants 1000EM and they'd need to sacrifice crit build for triple EM build for hyperbloom, or get hyperblooms of twice less damage. It still works, its called "quickbloom", but its just less damage than spread carry + hyperbloom.

bloom is whole other can of worms. for bloom it matters who triggers blooms - this character should be built full EM. For example, on a team of nilou, yelan, XQ, nahida, enemy will always be covered in hydro, so all hydro stats don't matter, they can run dps builds, bc Nahida as sole dendro will be on field triggering blooms and she should be on full EM. In a team of nilou, nahida, yao yao, kokomi, nahida and yao yao will basically always keep dendro aura on enemies, so kokomi will be on field, triggering blooms and she should be the one on full EM build. Bloom doesnt work with other dendro reactions, bc seeds will be stolen.

[I feel like Keqing has always been looked down upon just because she's a standard banner character, but man, she carried my 🍑 until AR45 - when I finally got Xiao on his release. to be the yuheng of the qixing is to resign yourself to being near permanently busy, always with either a stack of papers or a pen in hand. and as keqing hurries to bu’yun, the usual password system forgotten for one of liyue’s most recognizable, she’s more than aware of this fact.

her foot taps on the stone platform bringing her up to the jade chamber, the journey never seeming to go quickly enough. the sun had set, and yet she still wasn’t finished. part of her wants to flip through the folder in her hand to get a start on her assignment, but the majority of her brain scolds her that she could drop some of the precious documents and have to wait for the journey all the way back down to collect them- and then all the way back up to continue her work.

to be the yuheng is to be busy, and keqing fit the definition to a T.

yet, when she steps onto the stone of the jade chamber, she pauses. a bright floating ball awaits her, one that doesn’t display any clear origin. it doesn’t seem mechanical or elemental, nor of adeptal origin…

she takes two quick steps and picks it from the air, surprised at the fragility of the structure. it breaks beneath her fingers, the pieces dissipating into fine dust even as she tries to hold it together. in the end, she’s left with an envelope in hand and a small box that had fallen thankfully into the space between her side and her folder.

keqing sighed, but picked up the box and walked inside, heading straight for her office.

she dropped off the folder with another secretary and shut her door, opening the letter swiftly. worst case, this was a security breach. best case…

whatever she had in mind for ‘best case’ was wrong.

she wasn’t one to kiss up to gods and was more than willing to point out their flaws, as critical of them as she was of humanity. and yet, she cannot find fault in your letter. she was there for you, and had watched you get a better handle on utilizing vessels as you guided the traveller through their journey. you had helped her, and she had done her best to reciprocate in kind.

and yet, as she opens your giftbox and tries one of the candies, she can’t help but feel like she got the better end of the deal. perhaps when her workload was lighter, she could work out a way to return your kindness.
