You smiled as Yeseo and Bahiyyih came in. You moved to the last chair on the right letting Yeseo sit in the middle and Bahiyyih on the far left.

“ Ok 1.. 2.. 3.. GO! “. One of the camera men said as you and your member said your intro.

“ Catch your eye, catch your mind, hi we are Kep1er !! “. Everyone in the studio clapped as the three of you finished saying you intro.

“ Today we are going to be doing a what’s inside your bag again!! “. Bahiyyih said as everyone clapped again; as your bags were brought in by staff and set on the table.

“ I think we should start with Yeseo’s since she’s the youngest “. You said as the younger girl frowned and said.

“ Your only saying that because your bag is probably messy, but ok “. Bahiyyih laughed and you playfully hit her; as Yeseo started to unpack her bag.

“ Ok and that’s it “. It had been 20 minutes after you initially forced Yeseo to unpack her bag first.

“ Yeseo I didn’t know you had that much stuff in your bag “. You said as you laughed and the other too joined in too.

“ You wouldn’t know if you unpacked your bag first “. She said staring straight as you; but seeing this as a chance to open her bag Bahiyyih started speaking saying.

“ I’ll got first Yeseo back of Y/n ! “. Yeseo slightly rolled her eyes and then smiled while saying.

“ What is it because she’s your girlfriend “. Bahiyyih started to blush and you did too as Yeseo continued with the teasing.

“ Sorry that was supposed to be secret “. The younger girl covering her mouth to save herself and her members and controversy.

But in all in all on and of camera you and Bahiyyih did act like a couple. For example during the last bag unboxing Bahiyyih always helped you anytime your zipper got stuck. She also always insisted you be on a team with her and also said you were her favorite member..

As Bahiyyih finished her unbagging she looked over to and said.

“ Y/n are you ok? “. Slightly worried she got up and went to your seat.

You all had done your intro again and left the studio. But instead of going straight to your groups cars, you told Yeseo to go on and talked to Bahiyyih.

“ No- No I don’t !! “. She said turning around ready to go before you spoke again.

All of your members were confused. Expect for Yeseo who had started and new what was going on. Since she was the one who came up with doing the “what’s in your bag” again. What a smart maknae.

if she receives individual offer, it could be about something singing related, like king of the masked singer? i saw she was guest panelist with yujin like a month ago, so yeah.

The beating of my heart grew louder by each passing second. I couldn’t take it anymore. My eyes shut tight, hands squeezing Yurina and Xiaoting on either side of me, praying - just praying, that my name would be called.

As the moment drew on longer, with the suffocating programme music only working to discomfort all of the candidates who stood exposed on the stage, I was sure that my name wasn’t going to be called. Based on my previous rankings I’d been able to maintain an average of around 5 to 6, but now we were down to 3rd place. And I still haven’t been called. By now I’d already accepted defeat, and this just made me squeeze Yurina’s soft hand tighter.

The beat of the programme music finally slowed, signalling a build up to the reveal. I felt the girls around me tense up and for a moment I did, too.

“Yoon Byeol! From Starship Company! Congratulations!”

The announcer’s words had barely even registered in my head when I was suddenly swarmed with hugs, my small body being pushed around. I must’ve looked like a deer in headlights to the audience because it took at least five seconds to clock onto what had happened.

It was me. I was 3rd place. I was going to debut in the final lineup.

Then without warning tears streamed from my eyes like a waterfall, my knees buckled and I simply allowed myself to drop to the floor. My years as a trainee hadn’t gone to waste. I thought of the blood, sweat and tears it took me to even get into this competition, the endless hours of training and mountains of emotional breakdowns suddenly materialised into this blessed award in front of me. I gathered myself up from the ground, clutching onto the other girls in K-group whom I knew would be devastated by their own failure to debut.

Soon, the second and first place trainees were announced. The debut lineup looked perfect to me- I had performed in groups with all of them at least once and I got on with them just fine. From the third highest platform on the lit up lineup stage, I glanced down at Hikaru, making a silly face that I knew would put her in a fit of laughter.

Now the 10th, and final member was about to be announced. I felt a kicking sensation in my chest that perhaps I wasn’t going to be able to debut with Yurina, an (intimidatingly) pretty trainee from J-group who I became close with during my time here.

“Shen Xiaoting from C-group! Congratulations!”

And this was how our group, Kep1er, was formed.

“Hikaru-ya!!!” Yujin hollered at the top of her lungs.

By now I was getting used to the constant level of noise our group upheld.

The ten of us (or nine, since Hikaru was running around in front of the camera), were standing in our designated spots, waiting for our first Vlive to take place. Though I never liked to admit or show it, I was feeling rather nervous as this was the first time we were being revealed to our fans. I had worries that perhaps I wouldn’t be noticed among the ten girls, that maybe I got into the final lineup out of pure luck rather than likeability or talent.

Still, Yujin sounded from the centre, giving us all a firm “fighting!” with a raised fist as a boost of confidence. Five members sat down on stools at the front, while five stood behind them, that included me. I was standing on the right hand side at the very end, but luckily I was still captured in frame. Bahiyyih was the member seated in front of me, and she tilted her head back in her seat to gesture for me to cup her face from behind. Hiyyih and I had gotten pretty close over the past few weeks.

There were still a few members that I wasn’t completely close with yet, however: Chaehyun, Yeseo and Xiaoting. My closest friends in the group right now are probably Shiro, Hiyyih, and Hikaru, because us ‘foreign-liners’ have stuck together to improve our Korean skills.

Thank God for Shiro unnie.

I’m Korean, but I grew up in London, and even though I speak Korean frequently with my parents, I still need to get used to the modern lingo.

Shen Xiaoting unnie is also part of the foreign line, she’s from China. But honestly I haven’t been able to speak to her that much since there are just so many members in our group. I remember seeing her for the first time at the programme evaluations, and I was simply mesmerised even when she wasn’t doing anything. Tall and beautiful, fair and doe-eyed. Naturally, she’s taken the visual position in the group.

When the managers decided that my designated standing position from now on would be next to her, I immediately searched for my highest platform shoes just so that I didn’t look like a dwarf in comparison. There’s something intimidating about beautiful people, especially kind beautiful people, which Xiaoting unnie definitely is.

Just then, the red dot on the camera appeared and we were live.

We all flashed our most enthusiastic smiles as Yujin unnie greeted, “1, 2, 3!” which was our sign to bow deeply for the audience.

“Catch your eye! Catch your mind! Hello we are Kep1er!”

I made it a point to wave both my hands happily at the camera, trying to appeal as much as I could to the fans. Xiaoting did the same, and we glanced at each other and briefly giggled at how she’d copied me.

My arms dropped back down to my sides, and as Xiaoting followed, her hand landed next to mine, causing them to brush slightly.

We went over the Vlive prompts together as a group before the live had started, so that we knew what we were supposed to talk about. First, we were to appeal to our fans by introducing ourselves in an aegyo-like manner.

Another thing to be nervous about.

Aegyo is one of those things where you’re either good at it or you’re absolutely rubbish. It takes a level of confidence, but it still needs to feel unprepared and easygoing if it’s to appear as truly cute.

Certainly not one of my fortés. But I was definitely looking forward to Yeseo’s since she’s the cute maknae, and Hiyyih’s because I knew she would find a way to make all of us laugh.

It was sure that at least half of our group were good at aegyo. The five of us who weren’t so good, however, managed to push the others to take the hit for the team and go first.

The plan ended up backfiring though because it just meant that the actually cute members of the team set the standards ridiculously high for the rest of us.

Our turn had eventually circled around, and once the camera had approached Xiaoting’s face, she turned to me and shook my shoulders so that I could comedically revel in her pain.

I sensed that our friendship with each other would be based on our small acts of skinship in front of the camera.

The funny part was, it took Xiaoting at least two tries before she actually managed to calm herself down ready to do it, as she kept laughing whenever she was about to start. And when she did start, she messed up on some Korean words during her greeting which made the aegyo level shoot right up. She finished by cupping her cheeks and smiling prettily for the camera, naturally making the rest of us swoon over her beauty.

The applause after her turn only worked to remind me that after the clapping ended, the burden would then be transferred to me. I took a deep breath, grabbing Xiaoting’s risk as if it were my life support and blurted the only cute thing that came to mind. The ‘gwiyomi’ song.

It ended up being a bigger hit among the members than I had anticipated, and I too, finished with a pose that I made sure to emphasise the two deep dimples either side of my cheeks.

“Wah,” Youngeun sounded from the front as she gazed up at me with widened eyes. “Byeol unnie is so pretty!”

Hiyyih turned around and began hitting me on the arm because I had made her cheeks turn a bright pink shade.

“We’re dimple twins!” Mashiro dug her pointer fingers into her dimples too, which I copied.

The best compliment I received, however, was the lowering presence of Xiaoting beside me, who leaned over to my ear and whispered, in broken Korean…

“You look pretty when you smile. You should smile more.”

Bahiyyih and Chaehyun were the only ones at the dance studio late on a rainy night. They finished private dance lessons for their new comeback, We fresh. The two members were getting ready to go home, seeing that it was close to midnight and they were extremely tired from a long day. While cleaning up they found a journal that belonged to your manager. You had a separate manager from Kep1er since that was the manager who fought long and hard to make sure you'll be in the group. Chaehyun thought the planner only had boring calendar schedules so she went thru it. Scrambling thru a random page she found something important. Chaehyun was seeing a paragraph full of y/n and advised Bahiyyih to look at the revealed information with her.

Chaehyun: Hyyih, look at this.

Both looking at it together they read it carefully. Today's meeting discussed how the CEO dislikes the relationship of tickling between the members and y/n. The company promises to fill the group up with work and no free time to make sure no tickling happens. The two looked at each other, realizing they found the missing puzzle piece of why you've been so cold about wanting to be tickled. But it's difficult to what their next step is. Chaehyun takes a picture before she and Bahiyyih exit, leaving the notebook on the ground to avoid suspicion. They thought the members would be asleep since it was the AM, but they were alerted by the sudden news. But at home, they all gathered in the living room, half asleep but whispering as you were sleeping in the next room.

Yujin: How long have you guys been noticing that y/n hasn't been getting tickled?

Hikaru: I tickled her...and that's it...has it really been that long?

Dayeon: But it makes sense. One day me and Chaehyun wanted to tickle her, but our manager told us to do a vlive so we rescheduled for tomorrow, but we had a meeting and after that, we forgot...

Yeseo: Wait, in one of our schedules on Saturday we're doing a photoshoot but we're not doing anything on that Sunday. We can ask our manager to see if we can stay at a hotel if we like.

Dayeon: That would be good...but the last time I tickled y/n we were roughhousing and we got banned from the hotel.

So their second alternative was to rent a separate house, then lie to the CEO is used for content for their YouTube channel. It could be used for video content, if fans enjoyed nothing but torturing you for 30 minutes (which they may like we don't know). However the setback was still there, and the CEO wouldn't approve of this. But there was a member of the group that was good at persuading others with her good talking skills and cute dimples.

Yujin: Shiro you're doing it!

Mashiro: Me? Okay then.

Persuading the manager is one thing, but then making sure you'll fall into their tickle trap is another. Your lack of tickles has made it impossible for the members to trick you. You've even got passed Dayeon's tricks by tickling her, yep it's gotten to that point. While thinking the two big lers started smiling. Chaehyun and Dayeon, are the two girls that never give up even if you've started to be a ler all of a sudden. But the two started smiling and giggling as if they had their own inside joke. But they did have a plan that might work. Con; well 5 girls have to be tickled for it to work. That's when the girls are ready to fight because none of them wants to do it (besides Hikaru who loves to be tickled). Every night one of the girls gets tickled so you can hear their laughter, and miss the fun times. If Chaehyun knew anything it was you get easily jealous when a member gets tickled instead of you. The plan did work, and it only took Hikaru and Yeseo to be tickled (and Youngeun was happy she didn't get tickled).

One day you were really sad, too sad that it was quite hard to keep a happy face. And it affected you and was eating you up inside of the secret you kept from the members. Late at night, you went to Yujin's room while she was doing yoga before bed. You kept choking on your words to where nothing but tears came out of you.

Y/n: Sorry...I'm so sorry...

Yujin: Sorry about what? Baby, we're not mad for spilling that juice.

Y/n: It's not that! Manager nim told me I can't be tickled by you guys anymore and that's why I've been so cold to you guys!

Of course, Yujin had to play it off that she didn't know anymore by mentioning the spilled juice. She held you and comforted you while crying. She was finally relieved that she didn't have to ignore the situation, now since it was out of the open. She said everything. It started with a few hate comments about the vlive between you and Xiaoting, where she tickled you. You were never bothered by a few hate comments, but your manager thought it wasn't good to base off your whole personality off of being kep1er's Lee. Even though lots of fans adored the cute little tickle moments you were a highly good dancer and you're singing skills were painfully underrated. You made some of the chores for Sugar Rush and did the lyrics to Downtown. Insanely talented yet the company is in denial. But all you wished was to be tickled and loved on by your favorite friends in the whole wide world, which is being arranged right now.

Yujin: Well...you can be the cameraman for tomorrow since we need content for backstage on the music bank.

Now was the beginning of a beautiful resolution. Surprisingly, the manager approved of you being the cameraman for the day. You were excited, too excited, and hyper but that's what a few days of sadness can bring.

They were happy that you were so energetic, that type of energy was helping them not become too nervous during performing. You were interviewing Yeseo, asking the difference between We Fresh and the last comeback, Up. It was a professional interview, no tickles were intervening. You turned off the camera. Immediately Yeseo tickled you, poking you while you were trying not to fall off your seat. You kept talking about how Halloween would be and who you'll be dressed as but you said it'll be kept a secret. She got mad as none of the members liked secrets, which is why birthday surprises are always fun and full of revenge tickles. After the interview, Bahiyyih took a selfie with you using the cheek charge. She took that little moment to pinch your little tummy which caused you to have the happiest smile Bahiyyih has ever seen. The last time you’d ever smiled this hard was the first time Dayeon has ever tickled you. While the girls get ready with their stage makeup and outfits you went to the hallways to demonstrate your outfits. The theme was black and white punk: wearing a uniform outfit with a skirt and shirt cropped. Then you had Doc Martians with a fake lip piercing. Then Youngeun came, letting you take a bite of her sandwich that was cut in half. But you teased her by taking a big bite, too big that all there was left was the crust.

Youngeun: Hey! Why did you do that?! I swear-

Y/n: You can eat my sandwich, I have an extra one.

She got mad as she chased you around the hallway. Before any tickling happened you turned off the camera and then went back to running. She eventually caught you and tickled you in a corner where no one would defend you. Soon after they needed to go on stage so you did the last recording of Xiaoting for extra support on stage. The girls have gotten extremely good at hidden tickles. Walking in a line to the stage you had your armpits tickled by Mashiro. They were starting to like how you can't laugh since they have to keep it a secret no matter what. After a fun stage of We Fresh where you and Hikaru shared an ending fairy you went backstage with the members.

Y/n: We're done! It was so much fun. Lots of fans complimented me and how good I was. Now we're waiting to go home.

The manager was going to be late so the members could squeeze in some tickle time. Xiaoting was keeping guard in the hallway before she can close the door and potentially lock it. With the last stylist gone, you and all the members were wearing regular clothes. As soon as the coast was clear the door was locked and the tickle fest started. Xiaoting ran to you and tickled your neck and gave you a big hug. Then Dayeon wanted you on her lap so you can be tickled by her and Dayeon. The biggest downside to hidden tickles was not hearing you laugh. And since the room has very thick walls they thought of spending ten to fifteen minutes tickling you until you lose laughter.

Both Dayeon and Hikaru tickle your tummy. You laugh, followed by a few snorts because Hikaru was tickling your ribs. The tickling was caught on Yujin's phone since it was a cute moment everyone was loving. They gave you a break halfway to start tickling your feet while Xiaoting was holding you. It was pure hell, especially because Dayeon had long nails that day. The 15 minute tickling ends with Dayeon giving you a kiss on the cheek, which leads to a neck raspberry. Missing how Dayeon would finish tickling you with a raspberry either on your neck or tummy. The members went home, going with their regular tickling schedules. Okay, you were being dramatic. The meeting went well as Xiaoting and Mashiro, who came with, expected.

The final broadcast felt like a breeze for you to wrap your head around the weight of responsibility and pressure. Today, it finally sinked in.

The meeting ended with some positive remarks that added a new weight of burden.

You finally left the room with new thoughts in mind. Forgetting the fact that Mashiro and Xiaoting, who were waiting for you, are just a couple buildings nearby. Hoping to clear your mind a bit, you opt to visit the rooftop before heading down to the cafeteria.

You stride through the black hallways, checking your phone while you're at it. That was a bad idea, with you bumping into a person. Yet again.

Meeting their eye, you recognize him as Park Sunghoon. He was holding phone turned ON alongside a plastic bag filled with snacks and energy drinks. Guessing he was on his way to practice practice room with his members bombarding his phone, you realize you look like were checking him out.

You miss your members. Thinking about them made you realize the members who were waiting for you a couple buildings away.

Freezing at the thought, you forgot there was a person in front you.

Snapping out from the daze you were in with a single question, you answered yes.

"Well, we watched your drunk-dazed performance. You did great"

Surprised with the praise, it was interrupted when your phone rang. Remembering the members that were with, you answered the phone. Saying you were done and you would talk to them about it later. The call ended with them telling they'll text you when they're down at the lobby and Hiyyih's tweet earlier resurfacing your mind.

With your phone out of the way, you're surprised to see Sunghoon still there with him scrolling through his phone.

"I guess you're supposed to be leaving now, it's nice to meet you"

Nodding, you thought about Hiyyih's tweet. Hitting him (lightly) for him to relay it huening kai (lightly) would be alright, yeah?

You debated on whether to embarrass yourself or just leave it be but you've come to choose the former that you'd come regret later on.

And with that, you lightly smacked his arm. With a quick apology and explanation, you blurted out a "I'm sorry for suddenly hitting you. It was supposed to be for Huening Kai sunbaenim as his sister told me to do that if i do see him. But since he's not here and you're here, I smacked you so you could relay it to him...."

Silence was met when you blurted that out. Just in time, your phone dinged, indicating Xiaoting and Mashiro arrived downstairs. Doing out a quick bow and muttering a goodbye, you walked away fast not bothering to look back.
