These are all attempts at depicting some effects of the curse. They’re cool I guess, but I think I need to work on my depiction of it a little bit more to get it to look more like rot rather than just wounds if that makes sense. It’s really hard to depict with just red gel pen tho, rot is really mostly a lot of colors and rounder patterns idk it’s hard to explain. I guess he’s like “nude” but it’s just Ken doll level detail for anatomy practice and so that the curse is visible.

Idk if I should like tag for something or put a nsfw or content warning on this????? I also don’t know if this is too long and I should cut it shorter or not uhhhh yeah

I imagine that when androids communicate with each other and/or just think through problems, they do so at computer speeds (ie very very fast). Moving their bodies or speaking with a human feels incredibly slow in comparison.

Like, I’m imagining Hank and Connor talking about a case. Hank says “we should tell Markus about this”, and Connor replies “oh, I already did that while you and I were talking.” I imagine stuff like that happening all the time, just because androids can think so much faster than they can move.

For smell and taste, I imagine it’s not much more than what we see in-game. Like, an android eats something and knows all its ingredients. It’s just a way to identify the chemical composition of a substance.

OP mentioned in another post that androids are canonically able to smell, and wonders “why tho? Doesn’t make sense.” I agree, and to reconcile this, I imagine that android senses start taking on positive/negative qualities after deviancy. As in, they start liking and disliking things. Ngl it doesn’t seem like the creators put much thought into how androids work, and the worldbuilding seems pretty lazy as a result. But that’s just like. My opinion.

Speaking of which: why do Markus and North kiss? Like, what do they get out of it? Human lips have a ton of nerve endings, first of all. Why would androids be especially sensitive on their lips? Can touch even bring them pleasure, apart from the pleasure of companionship? I know the Doylian answer is “it’s visual shorthand for their romantic relationship”, but there is no Watsonian answer that satisfies me, really.

Now, to expand on “model-dysphoria”: I agree 100%. Imagine Connor got dumped into an older model. He wouldn’t be able to do many of the things he used to. He’d move and think more slowly, just to start. That would take some getting used to.

But…what if an android wants a new body? What if Alice wanted to grow up, for instance? Or what if a Traci decided she’d rather have Ken doll anatomy? It’d be way easier for androids to make body mods than humans.

Thinking about the difference in android versus human physiology/perception/experience in general is so damn addicting

Here's a little list of things

The way their touch sensitivity works is similar to the way neural network can scale small compressed image into higher quality by essentially imagining missing pieces based on previous experience within dataset. For androids CiberLife used data stored from scanning actual people and their brainwaves. So while their sensors may not be sophisticated enough and by itself, let's say in analogy with picture they're like 480p, their interpretation is capable of "scaling them" up into 4K or even higher. They can adjust the level of sensitivity but the higher the resolution, the more processing power it takes, that's why if they try to scale it too much for a long time, they'll start to get warmer.

Generally their skin is cold or about room temperature. If they're warm it means they're processing something heavy on their resources.

If you then kiss an android that is overheating, you'll be able to taste and feel it. As hot breathe (btw completely dry, like from a hairdryer) and distinct taste that'll be like this smell from computer motherboard and stuff like that or new CDs. It's hard to explain what is this smell I have in mind, but you probably know what I'm talking about, it's a pretty common one if you deal with computers)

Their processing power is actually mostly taken even when they aren't really doing much, because it takes enormous amount of resources to control their body and sustain balance and do things like that. Something people don't even think about because they do it on autopilot. Also processing visual and auditory information as well as in some cases mentioned earlier touch inputs. To process it all at the human speed while also making decisions and running a dozen of more background processes at once must be taking A LOT of resources. I used to think it's weird that for the most part they think in human speed, but taking all of that from above into account it's actually quite believable. Connor can process things for much faster than human speed in situations when it's necessary, but I suppose if he were to try to stay this focused for a longer than a few seconds or minutes, he would start to overheat reaching critical temperatures really fast

They don't technically need to breathe as their cooling unit works just fine even when they're not breathing, but it does help to cool down more quickly, so after running something cpu-heavy it may be the case for them to start to take deeper breaths more often. Just like humans would after running, except instead of running there may be some other process, not related to actually moving, but processing some information.

Androids can't smell anything. If they could – Connor wouldn't need to put anything in his mouth to analyse. Smell isn't something humans learned to save and replicate as they did with pictures and sounds. Smell is chemical and actually highly subjective (Some people smell things differently than others, so it's impossible to even standardize), you can't just record it and play back to back later

No taste either

They have some other senses that would be just as hard to explain to humans who don't have them as for humans to try to explain how something smells or tastes. It's like trying to imagine a new colour — you can't imagine 3d dimension if you're 2d creature.

If you take a mind of one android and put into a body of another (not the same model, but the one that looks completely different) they WILL experience some or a lot of dysphoria. Even if the two are the same "gender"(which is purely cosmetical anyways) it's not about gender, but rather model. I even have a reason to think that way. There's this thing in robotics that before running a program with actual real-life robot, it's tested inside a simulation. But thing is, that even though simulation is supposed to replicate real world conditions you still may want to do some things a bit differently when they're executed in real life and not within simulation. I remember my amusement when I got to know that there's actually a function that basically asks if this is a simulation or real world before running anything else. We know that Connor can enter a simulation of a Zen garden looking like usual, so even if he was placed into some other model I don't think built-in version of him would change. So I assume that all androids have an idea of how they're supposed to look like, because there must have been some simulations they run at least at some point. So I suppose it's even possible that it'll be difficult for let's say a child android mind to control an "adult" body because all her simulations were run with child model in mind, so adapting for a different body will cause some difficulties in calibrating it properly and from a psychological side it must be hella stressful and upsetting. I imagine this kind of dysphoria to be STRONG.

okay but also i've pulled up the official art and sandor?? just looks like a warped ken doll?? like the skin is stretched taught and smooth and nipple-less, but because it's sandor and he's so...textured...it reminds me of warped plastic for some reason.

but he doesn't have the defined pecs that humans (and ken dolls) do, they're more triangular and less defined, melding into the abdominal muscles a lot smoother--partially because there's no nipples disrupting the pattern. wait!! rock candy!! that's what he reminds me of! or at least, the texture of his skin. like that crystalline effect that's rough and bumpy but still capable of having a defined shape. don't know what his anatomy is like to make his muscles look like that but hope he gets better soon because that is. weird <33

oh oh also!! his eyebrows??? don't exist?? where did they go. i don't remember it ever being mentioned in the story that he didn't have eyebrows, but maybe i'm just forgetting that. grizel doesn't have eyebrows either tho, so unfortunately it's not a personal fashion choice by sandor. but! that probably means something about the rock candy texture of their skin doesn't allow hair to grow, there's no follicles. hence, they are very smooth hair-wise. probably still bumpy to the touch. but?? grizel has hair on the top of her head for that iconic ponytail that's mentioned so often. so why?? can she grow that hair but not eyebrows?? because i'm assuming sandor being bald is not a stylistic choice either, because that texture that isn't allowing hair to grow continues towards his entire head. yet grizel has like a bump instead, the texture stopping and the hair starting. why?? what is the evolutionary purpose of female goblins being able to grow hair on the top of their heads?? or has the need to feminize and soften female characters--long hair and hair in general being seen as attractive and feminine--become so prevalent that we're giving species hair just to identify them as female members of that species. because i don't know why else grizel would be capable of growing hair when sandor isn't. logistically, I think she should be bald.

My type is kind, caring, toll, someone who shares memes with me, someone who will talk to me about their problems, but will also listen. 13. what is a misconception you had about lgb people before you realized you were one? 

While growing up in Poland I never heard about the lgbt community until my preteens after moving to Norway, I never knew what the words ‘gay’ or ‘homo’ ment as a child, they were just an ‘insult’ there so I never bothered. I always had only barbie dolls when I was a kid, I never had a single ken doll, so I just played with them normally, my two favourite dolls got married and I loved playing with them. I also watched those american shows with my mum as a kid (4-7) like grays anatomy or will and grace everytime they mentioned the word ‘gay’ I was wondering if the characters were fighting or something. In Norway kids would yell at eachother ‘Jævla Homse’ which meant ‘fucking gay’ and I just joined in not knowing what the words meant (being 7yo and I just moved in to the country, I had no idea what they were saying) one day I asked my mother what ‘gay’ means, she just said “person who dates someone who’s the same gender” and I was like “???? no, that can’t be right???” she just looked at me and said that she is right. I was so ashamed of mysef at that time and I started noticing how my familly reacted towards them. As a late preteen I started noticing how cute girls were which scared me cause of my family, so as deperate as I was I always talked about how cute boys were before I started highschool. After my first year I met a girl that told me that she is bisexual, later on that made me realize that I can do that too! I can accept that girls are freaking attractve and I just accepted that ‘dude I don’t care girls and boys are hot and u know that’. My parents still don’t know tho, I’m too scared to tell them, after my trip to Koppenhagen with my uncle (he and father have the same view on stuff) I’m just afraid.
