This was quick. Might be the quickest lol. I've decided to do a tag list. If you want to be tagged comment on the chapter.

Johnny hates red. Seen to much of the color. Actually, maybe he doesn't? Maybe it's his favorite color.

The red string can tangle but it doesn't break.

Nora covers her eyes as she walks out of the nondescript building that houses her therapist office. Every appointment leaves a migraine in its wake and the sun wasn’t helping any. Plus, it was cold and she’d been in a rush and forgotten her favorite beanie. Huffing she pulled her arms around herself and looked for the red car Derek drove. He always picked her up, safer option than her dad doing it. A lot safer.

“Hey babe.” He was applying a think layer of lip gloss. Strawberry by the smell. Nora fake gagged as she buckled up. “Everyone loves strawberry Nora. Including you. Licked it off my lips last time.”

“Not when the smell is so strong my eyes pulse I don’t.” Ignoring the reminder of why she was now sober.

“Not even that strong but okay.” Nora happily accepts the coffee and takes the oblong pill. Her hands shake as usual, almost spilling it all over her leggings. Derek watches her out of the corner of his eye, checking to make sure the appointment didn’t trigger her. It was always a fifty-fifty chance.

“So what’d we talk about today?” She rolls her eyes.

“We didn’t.” Suddenly the thrill sound of Chapelle Roan cut through the car. “Oh he we go.” Derek sighed as he threw the car into drive and pulled away from the curb.

“Hello father. Fine dad. No. No. Dad stop. Technically he’s not supposed to do that you know. It’s illegal. For fucks sake dad! I don’t want to talk about it! It didn’t happen to you! Nothing happened to you! You can wake up every morning and get up and go, I wake up and vomit. Haha. Because it’s all my fault right? Thanks dad.” The phone lands at her feet. Hands threading into her hair and yanking. Derek takes one of them and holds it.

“Stop that. Please." Nora groans but nods and removes her hand, her other still grips Derek's.

"He's always pushing. I can't do anything without him hanging over me."

"He's just worried babes. He almost lost you." They don't talk about it. As far as he knows she's never told anyone what fully happened, cops included.

"And you don't think I don’t know that!" He cuts her a look.

"Nora." She softens.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled. It's not your fault." Didn't mean he didn't feel bad. He could see the effect it had on her. The difference in pictures from before and now. The fake smiles and lies. There were things even he didn't know, she refused to tell him.

Jonny huffed as he pushed off the bench. His knees ached, sweat soaked his shirt and his head was aching. Cookie nudged his hands, her snout cold agaisnt his heated skin.

"'m okay girl." He rubs through her fur. Physical therapy was getting easier but still, those months laid up in a hospital bed reared it's head. The worst part wasn’t even the physical stuff. That he was almost used to from the military, but the mental stuff. The mental stuff was even more exhausting.

“You did fantastic Sargent!” Kelly smiled at him, her fake blonde hair in a ponytail. She was exceptionally sweet and kind. When Johnny would get frustrated or too touched out she always backed off. Let him feel what he needed to feel. She pushed but not to break.

"Mmm. My body says otherwise." He smiled at her as Cookie pushed agaisnt his legs to steady him. The thrum behind his eyes was dull, a annoying buzz in his ears.

"You're to hard on yourself Johnny, your progress has been fantastic. Really." She laid a hand on his shoulder and smiled again. It felt like pity.

"Oi, Johnny, you ready to go?" Kyle nodded towards Kelly and gave cookie a scratch behind her ear. "Might snow today."

"Oh! I heard that on the radio this morning! I hope it does. Kelvin and I wanna make snow cream." Kelly clapped her hands as she talked to Kyle. Johnny tightened his hands on the leash, the voices in his head louder. Always feeling like he was a tag along, a third wheel. Never invited. His phone vibrated.

It took him a few seconds to process the words and figure out who it was from. Another message appeared.

Nora. Nora was messaging him. Joy sprang in his chest.

He chuckled, Kyle turning towards him.

"You okay?" Johnny nodded, Nora sending him a picture of a crying cat.

What are you doing today?

He pocketed the phone and walked closer to Kyle. He was laughing at something Kelly had said.

"Ready to go?"

"Yeah." So they went out to the car. Johnny checked his phone to find a address followed by a devil emoji. He smiled. "Can you drop me off at this park." Kyle side eye'd him.

"A park?" He nodded. Showed him the address. "When do you want to go to the park?" Johnny blushed.

"Just do."

"It's that girl isn't it? The one Simon was telling us 'bout?" His cheeks got redder.

"No." Kyle smirked.

"Yeah. But I'm staying."

"I don't need a babysitter."

"No but below your address was another message saying her friend was gonna be there too." He quickly scanned his phone, sure enough a eye emoji followed after it.

Nora was nervous. No idea why. Maybe she shouldn't have sent him that message? But she just needed someone and he seemed to need one too. The coffee in her hands shook slightly as she checked her phone again.

"Calm down. I'm sure lover boy is on his way." Derek smirked as his sipped his own drink. They'd stopped for coffee and pastries before coming to their usual spot.

"Shut up D." She looked at the extra coffee. "What if he doesn't even like coffee? What if he only drinks tea?" Derek laughed.

"With what your dad told me, I'm sure that boy would drink piss if you gave it to him." Nora smacked him.

"Derek! Oh my God! Shut the fuck up." Her cheeks were red. Screaming alerted them to the massive duck chasing a toddler. Nora giggled as the tiny human stumbled towards it's mother, the duck right on his heels.

"You 'er right. Is funny." She looked up to see Johnny standing there with a smile on his face, Cookie happily making her way to snuggled Nora legs. The man standing behind him watched the dog and huffed.

"Hi, you must be Johnny. I'm Derek. The resident gay." Nora wants to drown herself in the pond as Derek stand and offers his hand. Johnny nodding and shaking it.

"Kyle." Nora watched the way Derek eyed him.

"The sadistic one is Nora." Nora rolled her eyes but offered Johnny the extra coffee.

"I made it the way I make mine." Johnny sipped it and nodded. Nora could tell immedently that he didn't like it.

"Good." Nora snorted.

"Bad liar." But she smiled at him. Derek looks at Kyle and nods.

"Kyle, there's this coffee place right around the corner, care to join?" Johnny scrunches his brows.

"But you already have coffee?" Nora blushes. Derek stuttering while Kyle claps him on the shoulder.

"Tea mate. Could go for a tea." They share a look and Nora watches as Johnny blushes, understanding clouding his eyes.

"Sorry. Takes me a bit." Derek just smiles and him and Kyle walk off, Johnny joining Nora on the bench. Cookie laying between the pairs legs. "My brain doesn't process -"

"It's fine. Don't worry 'bout it. I drift off a lot. Miss a lot of conversations." She shrugs and Johnny feels light. He's not alone with her. "Plus, I think the scar is hot." Her fingers ghost over it and he can't help it. He leans into it. No one has touched him like this in forever. It was always weary hands or second guesses. Too afraid to touch the broken boy.

"Sorry." She smiles, moving her hand to the back of his head and scratching.

"I remember the first time Derek just held me. It'd been years since anyone had looked at me as a person and not some wild animal." He has to hold his breath to control the tears in his eyes. "It's like breathing for the first time after being underwater." That does it and he's crying. Nora just rubs his back.

"God, great first impression huh." She laughs. Has to hold her stomach as she does.

"I puked on my therapist the first time." He laughs. "Would do it again to. Fucking prick." She smiles at him and scoots closer.

"I don't feel as bad now." She's so close and so pretty and he knows it's only because he hasn’t had sex in almost two and a half years. Has to be it. Nora touches his lips. "Date then." She chuckles agaisnt him. She likes this, laying on him. It's relaxing. The static in her brain is low, the itch in her skin gone. Just the sound of his heartbeat and his arm resting agaisnt her back. Johnny thinks the same. The buzzing gone, and she's not treating him like glass. There's suddenly a loud knocking on the door.

"Hey! Lovebirds! Time to break it up." They blanche.

"Nora, you're dad called." She groans loudly. Pulling herself off him with a pop. Their skin is clammy, sweat sticking hair everywhere. She pulls her pants on and helps Johnny stand before handing him his. He leans agaisnt the wall and struggles to put them on. Nora watches for a second before bending down to help, gently helping each leg into the hole. He's red when she stand back up.

"It's okay. We all need a little help." She kisses him, nice and slow. "Can we do this again?"

"Preferably in a bed Bonnie." She laughs and opens the door. Kyle and Derek stand on the other side smirking. Derek snaps a picture and Kyle hums when he shows him.

"Maybe you won't be such a bitch now." Derek says chuckling as Nora pushes her way out. Johnny stumbles after her, Cookie quickly coming to steady him.

-Apologizes profusely to every survivors who stepped on it.

Wren Harris

-Majority of survivors except Anais and Tabitha would've back away from him everytime he goes to their gens just to stack it up more.

-He's so confused when someone like Arlo backing away from him.

-"What did I do?"

-Unless someone tells him that his counterpart is a Killer with a smiley mask.

-Is the one who stepped on Kyle's trap -He's confused why would others didn't want to talk to him until confused Kelvin told him that's him with a mask only he BECOMES so shocked that his sleepy eyes went widen.

Gemstones Episode 1.4: Keefe looks for love in a sports bar, and Kelvin meets a girl

Episode 1.4 is pivotal to the Kelvin-Keefe relationship, establishing that they both are gay, and that they have similar life goals: treated as babies in their subcultures, they long to prove themselves men.

Title: "Wicked Lips," from Proverbs 17.4: "An evildoer listens to wicked lips, and a liar gives ear to a mischievous tongue." I wonder who will be listening to wicked lips.

The Satanists: Keefe is walking through downtown Charleston, eating an ice cream cone -- a childlike activity, maybe signifying that he has been "born again," started life anew. He had to give up his old Satanist friends and lovers to follow Christ, and now he's looking for new friends -- and a boyfriend (he does not yet think of Kelvin as a potential partner).

He looks longingly at a hot guy through the window of a sports bar (it's Kyle Walsh, who has been Adam Devine's assistant in 10 of his movies and tv shows). Then the hot guy turns around, stares at Keefe, and licks through a v-symbol: a vulgar offer of oral sex, usually aimed at a woman, but apparently aimed at Keefe). Offenderd, Keefe moves on.

Next Keefe runs into his old Satanist buds, especially Daedalus and Cryptocore (who wears a gas mask and doesn't speak). They heard the he was hanging out with "those Gemstone weirdos," but he denies it. Then he refuses their invitation to a party at Club Sinister Friday night.

"Keefe's a fucking nerd now!" Daedalus exclaims. The slurs he uses, "nerd" and "weirdo," suggest the taunts of a high school bully rather than critiques of Christian believers.

As Keefe leaves, the Satanists demonstrate their new dance number. They look like they are having fun; he is tempted to join them.

Fancy Nancy: "Gay, you know..." Wait, is Amber talking about Kelvin?

No, it's Sunday dinner at Jason's Steakhouse with major donors Dale and Gay Nancy, owners of Fancy Nancy's Chicken. They are parodies of Dan and Rhonda Cathy of the notoriously homophobic Chick-Fil-A, but let's take a closer look at those those names: Dale's wife is named "Gay," and " "Nancy," and "fancy" are long-standing homophobic slurs. The whole scene is a play on homophobic slurs, calling attention to the problems that Kelvin and Keefe will have if they come out

The Nancys' problem: their teenage daughter Dot is on the wrong path, hanging out with an older, decadent boyfriend -- so they won't let her use the family helicopter anymore. Everybody volunteers to intervene, but Eli notes that Kelvin is the Youth Minister, so he should do it. He is thrilled: a way to earn his Daddy's respect!

Script problem: Shouldn't it be Kelvin's job by default? Why is there even a question? This seems to be a holdover from an earlier draft, when Dot was older.

Gay slur: Angry at being passed over for the job, Jesse criticizes Kelvin's glasses: "You look like Jeffrey Dahmer." The gay serial killer. Kelvin takes the glasses off.

What happened in Atlanta: We cut to Chad's wife Mandy telling the ladies that she broke into his email and found a message he received from Jesse last March: "Atlanta was dirty, dirty, for sure-y!" Other emails describe "titties," suggest getting tested, and ask how much he owes for the prostitutes.

Amber insists that it's none of their business. There are any number of innocent explanations. Later, she confronts Jesse, who gets mad at Mandy "for lying."

Timeline note: This episode takes place shortly before Easter 2022, which fell on April 17th. Mandy probably means March 2021, or she would have said "last month." So about a year has passed since Jesse's sex-and-drugs party.

The Semen Load: At the Nancy Estate, Kelvin announces that he and Keefe will be performing a Satanic Sweep (Keefe demonstrates by sweeping at his crotch. Satanic sweeps are about sex.)

Keefe connection: Jade Pettyjohn (Dot) starred with Tony Cavalero in School of Rock.

In Dot's room, they destroy: posters of the dark metal groups Bauhaus and Ministry; an ashtray; a "fidget spinner" (toy) that almost hypnotizes Keefe; two Ken dolls (used for gay play?); and a used condom. They bring everything out to their SCU (Spiritual Collections Unit) trailer. Lots of questions here: did they get a whole Satanic Sweep system started in just the few weeks since Keefe was saved (converted)? Wouldn't a real Satanist know that those so-called Satanic influences are bogus? And why are the Satanic Sweeps never mentioned again?

Keefe apologizes for displaying the used condom; Kelvin advises him that if it contains a semen-load, "don't even touch it." This queasiness about touching semen appears again in Season 2 with Judy and Jesse. Here Kelvin seems to be trying to steer Keefe away from his gay "lifestyle," which involved touching a lot of semen-loads. To emphasize his heterosexual manliness, he tries to draw Keefe into a play-fight.

Suddenly Dot's boyfriend Austin (Blair Jackson) appears. "I bet you money that was his semen-load," Keefe says. As they are drawn instinctively to thoughts of his penis, Kelvin decides to "Snip him right out of this situation." Castration joke, har har.

The 40 Year Old Virgin: Concerned that the Satanic Sweep had a sexual intent, Austin warns Kelvin "you go through my girl's panty drawer again, I'll whomp your ass." He then calls Kelvin a "40-year old virgin!" "So what?" Kelvin responds. "I made a celibacy promise."

Evangelicals are encouraged to "be fruitful and multiply" by marrying and raising children. Ministers especially need wives. When I was in the Nazarene Church, no unmarried man could be ordained. Growing up, Kelvin would have been strongly discouraged from taking a vow of celibacy.

But if he thinks that gay sex is sinful, Kelvin might take a vow of celibacy to both explain his lack of interest in women and try to avoid sex with men.

Don't fuck it up: After a scene where Jesse criticizes Chad for not deleting the various emails about his sexual infidelities, we cut to the garden, where Kelvin is telling his Dad Eli that Dot is "very sexual -- a lost cause." Notice how he conflates sex and sin.

But the Nancys are major donors, and Eli won't let him quit. Besides, he's always saying that he's great with kids, "the Teen Whisperer." This statement suggests that Dot was never considered a potential girlfriend for a heterosexual Kelvin. She is always described as "a kid."

Eli continues: "You're the baby of the family. I've been babying you too long. This is your chance to prove yourself. Do not fuck this up."
