Disappointed that your favorite hot player got out of the competition? Well, here's your chance! Unfortunately, not every single player that got out could be fit into this poll, so this is the ones that got the farthest/had the most vocal fans/had the closest polls. Jessica Telephone and Jaylen Hotdogfingers shall advance to the finals... but who will be with them?

Fic Rec Tuesday
Alright this is in before midnight and is therefore not late :) You know that scene in the kelvin timeline where the Kirk jumps down to destroy the drill and the Romulan is trying to stomp his hands???? This has been me all month. Yes I’m aware that we are not even half way through. It has been insane and I’m literally holding onto my sanity by my finger tips and life keeps trying to crush them.
Today’s recommendation is Foggy Windows by Burningamber. It is a good length story and you will absolutely grind your teeth at both Kirk and Spock. It’s one of those stories where if anyone stopped to think for more than half a second the entire plot would come screeching to a halt. It was great. I really loved it despite wanting to scream at these fools. 10/10 will absolutely fill you with rage.
It is not just infuriating it is also very funny and silly and I can’t believe I’m recommending anther M story. I swear I read other stuff 😅 anyway. It’s a fantastic AOS AU and I loved it! Ohhhhhh Sarek is not garbage! Definitely read it and give the author so many comments and kudos! 🖖

An episode of Star Trek Prodigy that I have to assume won't exist
So I've been thinking about how the story could "end". My understanding from official announcements is that season 2 will be the end of this part of the story, and that if the series continues after that, a new arc will start.
So of course I've been trying to figure out how "this part of the story" ends, and I keep getting stuck because the way time travel works in Star Trek is really inconsistent, so it's hard to nail down what's possible. So here's a possible season 2 finale that would get chucked in the writer's room garbage and replaced with something more thematically coherent:
So since I finished season 1 I've been paranoid about what happens to Gwyn if she actually does save Solum from itself. In the 2009 movies, Spock is able to live freely in the Kelvin timeline despite being from somewhere else, but in ENT S3 "E Squared", for example, the main characters meet their grandkids who got thrown back in time to save them, and after the rescue mission is complete, the descendant ship disappears and everyone forgets this happened. It's my understanding that the second type of time travel is more common in TNG than the former.
This concerns me because it could happen to Gwyn.
I mean, she's literally going back in time to stop the thing that caused her to be born. There's two timeline branches, and in one of them, nearly everyone is dead or about to be rescued from it. As far as I can tell, they could evacuate the other timeline and if it collapses on the way out, literally the only casualty would be Gwyn. (other than Ascencia, whom I assume will not be around by the end of the story for other reasons.)
So let's say she does it. She goes to Solum and makes first contact on behalf of the Federation and influences them to make the right choices and there's no civil war!! Good job!! Solum joins the Federation, everyone is happy, and the morning after the papers are signed Dal wakes up in the hammock under the engine of Nandi's ship like nothing ever happened.
He's older than he was the last time he was here, but Nandi doesn't seem to think he ever left. Apparently he's been doing bigger and bigger jobs and has amassed an impressive pile of crap in his corner made of things he took from people some way or another. Behind a panel somewhere he even finds a hidden pile of money, presumably so he could eventually buy his own ship.
He starts to wonder if he dreamed the whole thing, but eventually is able to get to the edge of the quadrant and pick up news from the Federation. Around this time, the Protostar has returned home from its first excursion and Chakotay is about to go right back out. He says he's had all sorts of adventures, including a mention of going through a wormhole and having to find his way back, having met a Federation society from some point in the future.
So, Dal realizes that this is the world in which Solum never goes back in time to save itself because it doesn't need saving. Chakotay is fine, Nandi didn't sell Dal as an "unwanted", Dal became a better con artist and thief. With some heavy research, he's able to find the show where Rok-Tahk used to perform, and ask where she was sold if not to the Diviner. Another mining colony. He doesn't really have enough information to find anybody else, but has to assume they were sold elsewhere, slaves on other colonies throughout the Delta quadrant.
So he goes to Janeway. Explains to her that he's from a timeline where some things were different. Everyone else has forgotten, but because his brain is DNA soup, he's immune to some complicated temporal effects. He has to give Chakotay's command codes to prove he is who he says he is.
The thing is, at this point in the story, Dal knows where Solum is. Season 2 has already happened, Chakotay has been found and rescued, but the Federation hasn't made first contact with them. Dal has a choice.
He isn't trusted, but he could regain the trust he once had. Janeway believes him. He knows an awful lot about her and he's familiar with all the Starfleet regulations a cadet would have had to memorize. He knows the advice she tends to give. Dal could make contact with Solum on behalf of the Federation. He knows where it is. He's the only one.
But how he does it determines how well it goes. He could ensure everything goes over perfectly, and proceed with his life as planned - fighting to get into Starfleet Academy so he can be the captain of a starship, armed with the knowledge of a failed alternate timeline other cadets can't learn from. He might even be able to bring Rok-Tahk with him. Maybe she doesn't like science in this timeline but he can make sure she's okay.
Or, he could screw it up. On purpose. Tell them that the Federation wants them for their superior technology, and that they have to change their ways to fit in. Stoke the fires of civil war, and leave. If he does this, everything goes back to the way it was. Maybe even enter a stable time loop where Gwyn fixes things and Dal screws them up over and over.
I think this is a fun concept to think about but I am 95% sure I'm off the mark about this having anything to do with where the story is going.
See, if Gwyn gets erased from the timeline, she's basically died for her abusive slave-owning father's sins, and while I don't think it's impossible to make that work narratively, I think it would be really difficult. I think what would be most empowering as a story is if she takes up the mantle of saving Solum in a peaceful way and gets to move on with her own life.
Which is why I came across the question of how to save her. I think if given the choice she'd sacrifice herself for Solum. Needs of the many, etc. The show demonstrates that the reason she likes Dal is that he puts her first when no one else does. So it's... workable that Dal would have a hand in figuring out how to keep her from being lost conceptually to the timeline. At the same time, Dal is supposed to be getting better, not worse. Siccing him with the choice of saving his love interest's life / saving his teammates from slavery against upholding Starfleet values is, again, not impossible to make work but really hard without breaking the bounds of moral grayness Dal himself tends to be subjected to.
Finally there's the complicated case of writing about slavery overall. In this story, you would have to do some onscreen math about whether the Delta quadrant is better or worse without the influence of the Diviner. Realistically, everyone would have been sold to a different slaver, but a decrease in the number of penal operations has to mathematically be a good thing. Dal choosing between the two timelines ultimately chooses whether to give the Diviner a pass for his many, many crimes, which is, again, probably out of the scope of this series.
Still, I'm enjoying parts of it as an AU. What would an older Dal look like if he'd eventually become more successful as a protege of Nandi? What would Janeway and Chakotay do in the absence of his capture? How can the story avoid the problem of erasing Gwyn?
Ultimately I think they're going to have to go with the explanation of Spock from the 2009 movies. She exists here, she just does, matter can't be created or destroyed and her matter is standing on the bridge with us.
Still, I'm not sure.

star trek 2009/kelvin timeline is actually one of my favs because instead of being a debonaire ladies man who loves rules, they made kirk a hopeless romantic loser who thinks the rules and regulations are just For Fun and in being instantly smitten with him i knew exactly what My Type was.
i also put him on a letterboxd list titled “movies where guys strike out so bad it broke my immersion”
this movie is so dear to me. the single greatest thing that happened to 14yo andrea, also the thing that turned jj abrams into my mortal enemy. it's perfect it's garbage id change nothing about it id watch it a million times and more

The Garden of Horrors- Kelvin x Female Reader – Part 6/?
Tumblr media
Part 5
Your body heaved a long sigh as you woke up, dimly realizing that you were using Kelvin's broad back as a pillow. You felt your face flush slightly, while you thought that, although it made sense, since the bunker had only one bed, it was still strange that you were so close to that deaf soldier who had only recovered his faculties yesterday and of whom you did not know absolutely nothing. You sighed again, staying still, not moving, thinking that later you should probably go rescue the other soldier, or at least recover what was left of him.
You saw Kelvin move, turning around like a dog rolling in the mud, murmuring and making little whimpers, to which you had to move away a little so that one of his arms wouldn't take your head off.
"Jeez, hold still." You growled, holding him back from spinning. "You're going to crush me, pony face."
You saw him mumble, lying on his back, eyes closed, reaching around with his hand, as if he had lost something.
"What the hell are you trying to do?" You wondered, watching him touch your arm and move his hand up to touch your head and pat your hair like you were a dog. You saw him open one eye slightly, look at you, and close it again as he rubbed your hair. "What the fuck?" It was what came out of your mouth. You thought maybe he was just as brainless and asleep as he was yesterday, and you just got up to get everything ready.
But he seemed quite focused, evidently he was preparing himself mentally for whatever it was, so you gave him all the suggestions you could in such a short time, you explained a little how to proceed, what to expect, how to attack. You planned it all, seeing his serious look, absorbing the information with his poor, still bruised brain.
What worried you more was his safety, so you gave him your ax instead of a wooden weapon, if anything could keep him safer, it was at least an edged weapon. And with him following close behind, you walked to one of their camps, attentive, listening for the crows, a pair of spears in hand.
You carefully reached the area and, hidden among the vegetation, you checked the place, but there was no one, not a soul, not a cannibal, not a soldier. You gestured to Kelvin to keep an eye on, while you entered the place, somewhat crouched, spying, checking. For a moment you were scared to see something inside one of those cloth cabins, until you realized that what was there was a mountain of dead cannibals, piled up like a pile of garbage.
"Good" you thought. You hadn't done it, so it was obvious that the other soldier had not only gotten away, but had killed quite a few in the process. And they were one of the big ones, the bosses, the ones you never even wanted to get close to because you had seen them kill others of their own group too easily. Those were really strong, and if they were dead, it was for the best. Maybe that's why you had noticed fewer cannibal raids in recent days. Perhaps the extra tranquility of the island was because that soldier was cleaning the place.
You gestured to Kelvin, and saw him approach, looking around, his face fearful. He saw the dead cannibals, frowning. It wasn't that death bothered him, he was a soldier, one way or another he was used to it. What bothered him was knowing that you had been alone on the island, at the mercy of those beings who didn't look exactly weak, surviving and even taking care of him.
You quickly went through the rest of the pseudo houses, putting everything that could be useful in a bag, taking the things with you, ropes, cloth, a couple of broken computers, a book, socks, gloves, a nice knife, everything, before coming back to your bunker.
You had some relief in your chest, it was possible that in addition to you two, the island was now home to another soldier who obviously had the training and skills to send the worst cannibals to hell. He was someone who would no doubt stop to talk if he saw you, or at least you thought so. A soldier was better than a horde of savage humans. And your calmness was something Kelvin noticed right away.
You stayed by his side outside the bunker, in the sun, while he seemed to love being outside, feeling the pleasant breeze move his hair, writing to him a bit, explaining to him what you had detected, what you calculated had happened to his fellow soldier.
He understood all that, but your calmer energy was relaxing him. Seeing you smile a little more, since you'd been grumpy with worry all morning, made him smile. Kelvin had always been exceptionally good at sensing things, at calculating whether someone was trustworthy or not, at sensing if someone meant well, and in part that was a skill that was even valued on his team, to the point that when others were not sure of someone, they went to him. He was rarely wrong, especially when he felt that he was one hundred percent sure.
And looking at you, studying you, perceiving, he was convinced that you were a woman with an excellent heart, that you drew courage from where you did not know you had, that you stood behind to emphasize others like him, that you hid your doubts in goodness. You were one of those people who did not shine for being the most powerful leader in the squad, or for being the most intelligent or the most outgoing and energetic, but who had a thousand times more than you appeared.
You were a bit like him. Virtues hidden in a façade of normalcy, kindness flowing through your veins, tranquility in a gentle voice, and the constant effort of someone for whom things rarely turned out right from the start. You were the kind of people he valued twice over any other mass of obnoxious and loud personality.
He was liking you, exaggeratedly much.

oh also this is the fic that got me attached to barry burkhard. i hope he's having fun in tokyo :)
❌ What’s a trope you will never write?
angst without a happy ending. i like angst, but i can't write something that doesn't have a shred of hope in it anywhere
🤗 What advice would you give to new fanfic writers that are just getting started?
the rough draft is always hot garbage, but once you get past the mortifying ordeal of Writing The Rough Draft, you can turn it into something awesome
🤲 Would you please share a snippet of a wip?
oh yeah have a snippet of the fic about the second wyatt masoning i've been working on. maybe i will use this as motivation to write the damn thing. anyway. s14d77 ji-eun jasper and lev for all your s14d77 ji-eun jasper and lev needs
Ji-Eun Jasper cheered as Kelvin Drumsolo crossed the home plate, putting the Mechanics on the board.
“Yes! There it is! That’s how the Core Mechanics get things done!” They raised a fist to the sky for emphasis, trying to get the attention of the Mechanics pitcher sitting next to them.
When they noticed no response from their teammate, they looked over to find them turning up the volume on their phone. They seemed preoccupied by something.
Ji-Eun put a hand on their shoulder and waved a holographic arm to get their attention. “Are you alright?” they signed.
“Too much Feedback,” the Mechanics pitcher signed back. “My head hurts.”
“Sorry. Hang in there, okay?”
“Okay.”
When the inning ended, Ji-Eun stood up to take the field. “I’ll be back soon. Wish me luck!”
The Mechanics pitcher attempted a smile. “Good luck.”
Ji-Eun smiled at their new teammate, then turned to take their position in the outfield.
Had they known it was the last time they would see them, they would maybe have said something else, even given them a little hug or a squeeze of their hand, but nobody knew the weather was about to become deadly.

The Magic of Organic Waste Composters: Turning Scraps into Gold
Introduction:
In a world grappling with environmental challenges, managing organic waste has become a priority. Organic waste, including kitchen scraps, garden clippings, and other biodegradable materials, makes up a significant portion of our garbage. However, there's a hidden treasure in these seemingly useless scraps: the power of composting. In this blog, we'll delve into the world of organic waste composters and discover how they're revolutionizing waste management and promoting sustainability.
The Organic Waste Challenge:
As urbanization and population growth continue, the amount of organic waste generated has skyrocketed. Traditional waste disposal methods, like sending organic waste to landfills, come with a hefty environmental price tag. As organic waste breaks down in landfills, it releases harmful greenhouse gases, contributing to climate change and pollution. This is where organic waste composters step in to save the day.
The Marvelous Organic Waste Composter:
The organic waste composter is a modern marvel that mimics nature's recycling process in a controlled setting. These machines transform your food scraps, yard trimmings, and other organic waste into nutrient-rich compost that can nourish the soil, promote plant growth, and reduce the need for chemical fertilizers. Let's explore the key elements that make organic waste composters so remarkable:
1. Decomposition Magic: Organic waste converter creates the perfect environment for microorganisms to break down waste. Through a combination of heat, moisture, and aeration, these microorganisms work their magic and turn waste into compost.
2. Green Energy Generation: Some advanced Organic waste converters also harness biogas during the decomposition process. Biogas, primarily composed of methane, can be used as a renewable energy source for cooking, heating, or electricity generation.
3. Waste Reduction: By composting organic waste, these machines significantly reduce the volume of waste sent to landfills. This, in turn, lowers the production of harmful gases and minimizes the strain on landfill space.
4. Soil Supercharger: The compost produced is rich in essential nutrients and organic matter, making it a fantastic soil amendment. It enhances soil structure, retains moisture, and encourages beneficial soil microorganisms.
5. Community Building: Implementing organic waste composters fosters community involvement and education. Schools, neighborhoods, and businesses can work together to create a greener and more sustainable environment.
Choosing the Right Composter:
When considering an OWC Machine, think about the scale of your waste generation, available space, and the type of compost you wish to produce. Whether you're a homeowner looking to reduce kitchen waste or a business aiming for sustainable waste management, there's a composter that suits your needs.
Kelvin Water Technologies is a pioneer in the organic waste composter industry. They specialize in developing innovative, eco-friendly products that reduce waste, conserve water, and promote sustainable practices. They offer organic waste composters for both residential and commercial applications. These units have a low environmental impact, and use an innovative approach to the composting process which uses minimal energy, is odorless, and requires no natural aeration. The company also offers custom composting solutions for all types of business, industry, or home applications. Their products and services can help enhance environmental sustainability through the reduction of waste and the more efficient use of water.
Conclusion:
Waste converter machine offers a magical solution to the ever-growing problem of waste management. By converting our kitchen and garden discards into nutrient-rich compost, these machines prove that even the smallest actions can have a substantial positive impact on our environment. As we adopt these composters into our communities and lives, we're not only transforming scraps into gold but also nurturing a greener, healthier planet for generations to come. It's time to embrace the magic of organic waste composters and be part of the composting revolution.

Training was over. The bulk of Cyprian’s work was complete. Other than sending gifts when he got the chance, and offering last-minute encouragement to both tributes, his role in the Games was over for this year. It gave Cyprian the chance to finally relax, as well as the chance to spend more time with Kelvin without the residual guilt of feeling like he was abandoning Eleven.
Between wardrobe fittings, prep, and their individual schedules, Two’s suite was empty the morning of the interviews, so after checking in with Eleven’s team, Cyprian returned to Two’s floor to make brunch for him and Kelvin. Starting tomorrow, it was going to be a rough few days. But there was nothing some waffles couldn’t fix. As he was stirring up the batter, Cyprian heard Kelvin entering and looked up with a smile. “Hey, you. Got some time for a meal?” he asked. // @kclvin

If I may, I'd like to say that I totally agree with the total lack of consent existing in the BD project, despite UT saying "they're very much like humans" : from the moment Bizarre Dolls are basically brought back against their will, one can indeed wonder about Doll's having any choice at all with becoming a monster again.
First time (the circus arc) was indeed to protect their "younger siblings" still in the orphanage from Kelvin's madness. But now... well, while we don't know if both Kelvin and Joker were also brought back (I believe so for Joker, jury's still out for Kelvin), what fuels Doll is indeed that "yearning for the future" that she briefly had upon dying. So it is doubtful that she has any way to escape wanting revenge or helping blood collects, considering her surviving conditions. That's what makes it so tragic.
Tumblr media
And again, like we have been saying, it's quite ironic (and in bad taste) that UT would subject hundreds of humans to this, when himself was denied the right to die, becoming a Shinigami enslaved for decades, if not centuries.
Can't wait for real!Ciel to become a fully independent antagonist and to throw UT into the garbage so that he finally realizes that the BD project was not a good idea.
I think with Doll, the big question is whether she would go as far as use experimentation on children if she wasn’t a bizarre doll. Of course in the Circus Arc, kidnapping children was out of desperation to save family, but would someone as kind as her go that far just for revenge? Or is it the BD state pushing everything else under the craving for revenge?
