Nijimura Brothers!! This drawing is dedicated to Keicho, who recently made an appearance in All Star Battle R! Little bro Okuyasu is cheering on him, like he is looking up to him as he naturally does haha. Honestly, always was curious how Keicho would play out, knowing his Stand, Bad Company...and it works like a charm in this game! Love how this game in general references a lot of what the anime/manga has to offer- and Keicho’s GHA attack is radical to see! The camera work is fantastic! And he interacts with a fair bit of characters as well, some actually surprised me- like Stroheim! (Which I’ll be doodling something between him and Keicho very shorly...) Enjoy! And congrats to making it in, Keicho! Always loved him as a minor villain in Part 4- deserves more attention frankly.

hey you ever think about how okuyasu probably had to see (if not help) his brother try over and over to like maim and dismember their father in an attempt to euthanize him, something that clearly hurts and distresses the guy despite his immortality?

do you ever think about how the boys were beaten "for no reason" (existing around their father) and then when their father turns keicho says that if he beats his dad enough he can be obedient but he never stops scratching around in that box and it makes him murderously angry. and then it turns out that their father's been trying to scrape together some reminder of the family they used to be this whole time. he's doing something innocuous and mildly obtrusive that pisses keicho off so much despite the fact that he would understand if he just looked a little closer, at a different angle, that it was his father seeking love and connection in the same way he was as a child, and that he is reacting in the same way his father did to it?

or how okuyasu (who was young enough to not Quite remember the abuse in the same way as keicho) was the one to want to shift gears towards curing him over killing him, to restore his memories and mind so they could heal their relationships - break the cycle? how you might think it's his distance from that contributes to his ability to want that in a way keicho can't, until keicho dies and okuyasu still chooses to focus on the scraps of good within their relationship (while acknowledging that keicho was Not a good person) despite how directly he experienced abuse from keicho? and how that speaks so much to okuyasu's deep sense of loyalty and love (even to his own detriment)?

or how it's josuke (with the power to heal, to fix, that kind power) who is able to start those relationships mending through his emotional curiosity and empathy? and how it's josuke okuyasu clings to in the wake of his brother's death? someone so different from the men he grew up with who only ever hurt each other because they were hurt and someone who proves that kindness and love are like. sustainable? how josuke didn't change him into being a loving person but finally answered it to form a healthy relationship? buh

THE HAND HUMANIZATION

• the character is calm, shows emotions with restraint, very silent (the absolute opposite of Okuyasu, which is strange). simply put, The Hand is chilled person;

• appearance: no eyebrows (bro really cosplays Polnareff), emphasizes his lips with a black pencil, likes to make nails every month, takes care of his hands more carefully than his face, is shy of his eyes, so he wears glasses 24/7 (stands should be somewhat similar to their users, and okuyasu has just small complexes for about his appearance). although another reason is that without glasses, he looks very much like keicho, and The Hand does not want to once again evoke bad memories from Okuyasu;

• The Hand likes to listen to music and values his headphones very much, so he does not give them to anyone, and in principle does not share what kind of music he listens to. however, Crazy Diamond is an exception;

• listens to punk rock, post-punk, techno and dubstep;

I have to thank the artists who painted the stands and wrote cool headcanons on them. you really inspired me, and I even got some kind of hyperfixation on the stands of the josuyasu(?)

okay so I went on a walk and my brain started rotating the Merstars AU SO hard so I'm just going to yeet a bunch of random bullet point thoughts that I came up with and see what comes out of it-

the "world" the AU takes place isn't really like "real" life and is instead a super huge archipelago with hundreds of thousands of islands of varying sizes and kinds

Mers and other various Sea Magics are pretty well known as A Thing That Exists. Is it accepted? Depends on the location and the people, and Mer Hunters are unfortunately a pretty common thing, but it's slowly started dying out. This is actually thanks to Speedwagon since after Jonathan's death he started trying to use his influence as a Very Important Wealthy Merchant to change public opinion, and it's actually been working

Jonathan was a pretty well loved and very social member of the mers. He wasn't their leader by any means, but almost every mer in the archipelago knew about him, and his murder pissed a LOT of people off. Luckily thanks to Speedwagon, since then relations have gone from "it's on fucking sight" to "don't approach me and I won't approach you"

Morioh is one of the more isolated islands and a bit of an exception to the above thing, being the most accepting island in the whole archipelago. Honestly, at this point like half the town has at least a little mer blood in them, but they are primarily human passing. There are a couple of full blooded or half blooded mers that hang around, but Josuke was one of the first ones born in the town in a long while

currently debating how exactly the Morioh Trio are gonna be, since I want them to be a "full blood, half blood, human" trio for the funnsies, but other than Josuke I don't know which should be which. My current thought process is 1) Okuyasu is the full blooded and when he was younger he had a run in with Hunters which is where his scars came from since his dad more or less just fucked off and left him at their mercy at which Keicho had to save him which led to the two of the moving to Morioh, Koichi is the human and is Their Little Guy, is super familiar with how to work around mers and climbs them like a god damn jungle gyms, or 2) Koichi is the full blood and a really small mer but still Big for humans, he's a cuttlefish, got separated from his family when he was little which led to him being adopted by the Human Hiroses and Okuyasu is human and the resident Normie Guy, he's recently moved to Morioh and is getting used to how Positive human mer relations are here

still trying to figure out how the Stand Arrows work, since Stands..... aren't really a thing now. Probably some kind of super powerful Sea Magic thing going on, maybe turn partial mers/humans into full blooded ones?

the "Italy" of this world is a collection of islands that are under Passione's control, aka a group of pirates that have a literal fleet. Diavolo and Doppio are brothers, with Diavolo being a half-mer (maybe lion fish? I'm still deciding tho) and Doppio being a full human. Doppio is the face of the operation, but his brother is always lurking in the depths below the ship and even makes a couple appearances as the True Boss in human form. Trish is by extension 1/4 mer and they want to kill her so the truth about Diavolo won't get out

Passione, despite all the shitty stuff they do, is actually a surprising area of Human Mer teamwork. There are a lot of hybrids and even full blooded mers to the point they're almost the majority. For the most part people don't care what you are as long as you get your job done, and honestly if what they did wasn't drug trade and trafficking, they'd be pretty cool

the Bucci Gang don't have a whole lot of mer blood, and any they do have is pretty distant to the point they're almost human save for a couple little features (they also don't get full transformations), with the exceptions being Trish and Giorno. Trish I've explained, but Giorno is...... Really Really Weird with what he is. His birth mom was a mer, but Dio had mostly been using her to try and lure other mers so by the time Giorno was actually born she was killed. Giorno was then taken in by the Shiobana's, which obviously sucked ass, but he was able to pass as a human for a shocking amount of time because Sea Vampire Genes fucked with his aging, so he also looks a lot smaller than he should be. He's also been forced to stay in his "human" form for much longer than is strictly healthy which ALSO fucked with his size and health

Giorno is gonna be a giant sea snake, because I think it'll be funny because That's The Traditional Sea MonsterTM. Maybe during the final fight with Diavolo he gets shot with the arrow and falls off the ship all dramatic and everyone thinks he died but SIKE he suddenly grows to full Absolutely Fucking ENORMOUS Size And Kicks Ass

You know my first reaction to seeing the whole 'Keicho went to Egypt and kidnapped a bird' was 'with what fucking money??'

But then I thought about it some more and honestly, Keicho scrimping and saving for years to pay for an international flight to Egypt in the hope of being able to find some clue about Dio or his dad that the Speedwagon Foundation overlooked is pretty on brand for him.

And when the only new thing he finds out is Pet Shop's backstory (which while cool to know doesn't help him any), him up and stealing this stand user bird so he doesn't come back completely empty handed is also very on brand for him.

But lol at the Jojo wiki concluding that Pet Sounds may have been confiscated from Keicho by a cop. Nah dude he punted that thing out the window the very first time it kept them awake all night screaming because it's an ADULT STAND USER PARROT that neither he nor Okuyasu have the means or capacity to take care of while illegally squatting in an abandoned fucking house

Speedwagon: He's from Splatsville! He ends up moving to Inkopolis though.

William: He's from a different Inkling city. But he is from a city. He is from a city.

The Pillar Men: They were underground for a while. They live in their fighting arena now tho. Which is also in Inkopolis.

Yukako: Ok I do think that she's from a Splatlands type area but she definitely doesn't live there anymore and she doesn't want to go back.

Rohan: He's also from the Domes.

Kira: Morayoh.

This also means Dio, Kakyoin and probably her cousin, the Nijimuras and Rohan would all canontically be former soldiers 👍

what a good, even great question! i LOVE jjba. i'm glad i gave it a chance and it ate my soul fully. in a positive way, i think. i like how araki writes everything! i like how he writes his characters, the situations, the stand abilities, the stand's usage, the relationships, the world. themes like destiny, partnerships, again, relations between ppl who's siblings or never ever met until now... i love how you need to think before you decide to use your stand, and you NEED to think how would you use it more effectively for... well, for you not to die from attack of other stand. and oh your stand may be so POWERFUL and you may use it smart enough, but you can still die... even not from other stand user just from some regular person killing you accidentally! "destiny" things, i guess. what a joke! and these stands getting creative and not so "visibly powerful" from part to part AND HOW YOU NEED TO USE STAND THAT MAINLY CAN DRAG SUBJECTS FOR YOUR SURVIVAL AGAINST A HALF-AUTOMATIC CANCER GIVING STAND AND YOU DON'T EVEN SEE AND KNOW STAND USER well, good luck! hope you survive! 🙏

love every part but if i get to choose only 4 it would be jojolion, stone ocean, jojolands, phantom blood. i started with phantom blood (of course!), for me it has that shade cool mood like i'm in that dark mansion and it's just a few hours before it will burn and dio will become a vampire... but for now i can rest a little.

there's many favs but i think of jolyne, gappy, anasui, dio, trish, diavolo, bruno, santana, mountain tim, blackmore, yasuho, miu miu, giorno, joseph, lisa lisa, mariah, hol horse, doppio, keicho, aya (tsuji), eisidisi, dragona, paco, charming man, jodio, acca (howler), mamezuku rai, kira, speedwagon weather report, emporio, foo fighters, hermes, narancia, fugo, cioccolatta, secco, risotto, illuso, giaccio, and i think there's more but I can't remember all of them.

For Kakyoin, fairly little on this one. I do like him, though! His design is lovely (he is borderline gender envy, but compared to other JoJo characters available, he isn't who would come to mind for that) and he is so so SO autistic-coded and I do really relate to his isolation and subsequent joy upon meeting others like him.

I like when he's a little bit of a bastard (or a lot of a bastard, in the case of Mannish Boy - that was fucked up but I can't say I blame him entirely) so he definitely deserves to bite and kill and maim a little bit. Just as a treat.

Okuyasu is so precious... he deserves so much more than he wants and I love that he's a dumbass. I think he's far less stupid than he thinks he is, though. He's so full of love and has been trodded on his whole life and it's so sweet to see him make friends and be accepted. I really resent Keicho for his treatment of Okuyasu, to be honest, even if I know he had his own issues going on. I feel very protective over Okuyasu: I know he can hold his own but he is like a younger brother to me.

Also, he's got dollar and yen symbols on his clothes and cool face scars. Hell yeah
