[yocchan you're late. The new year will soon be here]
[I look around the crowd, searching for my uncle who I'm meeting]
___Shibuya on New Year's Eve__
Everyone was watching with joy on their faces was the annual year-end singing contest projected on a large screen.
Everyone seems to be looking forward to something int the new year.
[Huh? I wonder what's going on the image in my vision is messed up right now]
Suddenly, Shibuya was plugged into darkness
It was as if time has stopped at this very moment...
[???]....
[???]....hah? What is this..?
When the men opened his eyes Shibuya was cover in a white haze and everything had stopped
The people, the noise, the twinkling stars.
Expect for the one man
[???]"Hey Hey, is this some kind of prank?
That moment
A strong wind blew and a mysterious sound echoed thought the era.
[3 people]"...."
[3 people]"...."
[3 people]"...."
[3 people]"...."
[???]" Ha?...what are they..?
Tumblr media
[???]"Ha...what are they?"
[3 people]"...."
[3 people]"...."
[3 people]"...."
[3 people]"...."
Suddenly, men in armor appeared in Shibuya, where time had stopped.
[Akechi Mitsuhide?]"....This place is..."
[Date Masamune?]"...Hah?Huh,what happened to this place?
[Kenshin Uesugi?]"is it fog that's gathering in it?... Is it illusions?
[Takeda Shingen?]"That family crest is it yours?"
[Uesugi Kenshin?]"! Takeda-"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"......What?"
[Date Masamune?]"huh? Did you just say something?"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Am I...dead...?
[Date Masamune?]"Ha?"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Answer me"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Who are you guys!"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Why are you here?!"
[Date Masamune?]"No no I want to hear it"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"....
*[Ishida Mitsunari?]"....
[Date Masamune?]"Eh...did I dead because of that? I was cut down by that angry guy...?"
[Takeda Shingen?]"In the foreground is flooding water.."
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Surprise attack...damn it!"
[Uesugi Kenshin?]"Everyone was facing theirs own end
[3 people]"...."
[Uesugi Kenshin?]"....I see. So this must be the place we reach after death.."
[Hattori Hanzo?]"After death..."
[Canada Yukimura?]"...No way..."
[Fuuma Kotaro?]"..is this what death is like?"
[Katakura Kojuro?]"I will not admit it! My master is dead..."
[Date Masamune?]"......"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"I won't admit it either! Im died without achieving the unification of the country."
[Oda Nobunaga?]"----!"
[???]"ah...?"
The two men's eyes meet and they stop moving for a moment.
The first to open his mouth was---
[???]"Who are guys? You're all pretty old fashioned for characters in my dreams"
[Ishida Mitsunari?]"Who are you, lord? It's a really strange look though."
[Katakura Kojuro?]"it's dangerous. Come closer a little closer to me. The area we just saw along with everything else, is probably a clever illusions set by the Hojo soldier"
[Date Masamune?]"if it's an illusion, does that mean we're not dead yet?"
[Mitsunari Ishida?]"But why are they stopping their movement...? There are so many things that are incomprehensible."
[Mitsunari Ishida?]"Maybe it's best to wait and see for a while"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Hah let's wait and see....! If it's a illusions this is a battlefield!"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Slash the enemy and connect this life to the world!"
with that voice ringing out all around , the man swiftly drew his sword
The other samurai follow suit, drawing their sword one after the other.
[Hattori Hanzo?]"hmm, you can do it. But the illusion doesn't work in me."
[Hattori Hanzo?]"Here we go"
__the man with two sword
With brilliant movement, he rushes through the still people
[Fuuma Kotaro?]"..."
[Hattori Hanzo?]"Wow, Even though it was a powerful attack, it was easily stopped."
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Your sword is still blue!"
[Yukimura Sanada?]"it'll turn red in no time!"
[Mitsunari Ishida?]" I can fight well in this situation...well let's join forces."
[Toshiie Meada?]" I won't let you lay hand on lord Nobunaga!"
[Ishida Mitsunari?]"Damn it...! What strength!"
[Toshiie Meada?]"Ha! You're pretty good at it. But that sword won't reach Nobunaga-sama!"
*[Ishida Mitsunari?]"Your excellency.... Pervious why did Maeda get in the way Dengun's army?"
[Sanada Yukimura?]"Oi,oi,oi! That's about as much as a big mouth slap! Do it like you're going to die!"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"That's fun kid! Cut or be cut in any situation!"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Therefore, I will completely cut down everyone expect the Oda force here---
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Take over the world!"
At that time-
[Oda Nobunaga?]"---!"
Music began to play from the large screen...
[Large vision audio]"Next up is the most talked about song of the year! It became a huge hit, so to speak, unifying the country"
[???]"!? This song is..."
[Hattori Hanzo?]"This is first time I've heard of something like this..."
[2 people]"......"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"oh...---this song"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"I like it"
____________________________________
As music flies the street of Shibuya, the fog begins to recede..
And when the music stops
Times has returned
[Huh?]
[What was Im doing? I remember there was a power outage..]
[I looked around the town in a panic and the people around me were also in a state of restless]
[Perhaps due to the power outage, the vision is still dark]
[???]"The song that just play now.."
[huh? When did yocchan come?]
[As I'm confused by my uncle's behavior, I heard the sound of a police car siren.]
_a voice boomed over the speaker_
[police officer]"Hey those Cosplayers! I'm going to ask you a few questions, so please stay where you are"
[ I turn around and saw men in armor standing there with sword in hand.]
[Before I knew it..]
[Sanada Yukimura?]"....Eh.. what's going on?"
[Katakura Kojuro?]"even the enemy seems confused by the level of perfection of the technique. Maybe we should leave this place for now."
[Date Masamune?]" Well then let's go quickly"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"I won't let anyone escape! Wait----!"
[Woman]"The police are here. Are those warlord unauthorized performances?"
[Male]"As expected of Shibuya, there are some crazy people here."
[???]"Shibuya.."
[Akechi Mitsuhide?]" Well then. I guess I have to handle this somehow."
[Yocchan]"You guys, follow me!
[Eehh!?]
[Akechi Mitsuhide?]"! That person is the one from earlier"
[Yocchan]"This way! Everybody come with me!"
[Yoochan's warm hand grab my arm.]
[Yocchan]“i want to help them! Let's run to the parking lot!"
[Helping....are you acquainted with that cosplay group?]
[2 people]"...."
[2 people]"...."
[2 people]"...."
[Yocchan]"why aren't you guys moving? Either you stay here and get caught or run away with me... which is it!"
[Mitsunari Ishida?]"For now on , is it a good idea to leave this place with that person"
[Wow some people are really following....]
[police officer]"Hey! you guys wait! Wait----!"
[Yocchan]"ha...ha..ha, okay the police out of the way we're almost to the car--"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Stop!"
[!?]
[surprised by the angry shout that echoed from the Alley, I stopped in my track.]
[The man in sengoku warlord costume pulls out his sword and points the tip at]
[point here]
[What...!?]
*[Yocchan]"...I see"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"who are you guys? Tell me your names!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Oda Nobunaga?]"State your name!"
[I'm (Name) ]
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"I am Yoshiaki Ashikaga"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Ashikaga, you say?"
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"If you want to know more than that, put away all that nonsense and come prepared."
[Oda Nobunaga?]"...."
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"(Name) Let's go"
[uh, yeah...!]
[I followed Yocchan, Who gingerly moved away from the sword and started walking leisurely]
[many voice]"10!! 9"
[Ahh...it's the New Year countdown]
[I couldn't help but turn around when I heard voice coming from the main street.]
[7,6]
[Hattori Hanzo?]"What should we do?"
[Fuuma Kotaro?]"....I Will follow"
[Hattori Hanzo?]"Well, he seem like someone I can have conversations with anyway~."
[many voice]"5!,4--
[Date Masamune?]"I'm going too. I'm not going anywhere. I'm moving forward to listen to what you have to say."
[Mitsunari Ishida?]"Right now, understanding the situation is the top priority."
[Takeda Shingen?]"I see. Is the the middle of illusions or the afterlife?"
[Takeda Shingen?]"I have to find out if it's reality or not."
[Many voice]"3!---2-"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"....."
1!---
[many voice]"Happy New Year!---"
[Ashikaga Yoshiaki]"Look. You too, come on"
[Oda Nobunaga?]"Don't Tell me want to do."
[Although he said this in a voice that oozed dissatisfaction and disbelief, he sheathed his sword and start walking]
Tumblr media
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"Well, come in it's my castle"
[Hattori Hanzo?]"This is...the castle...?
*[Fuuma Kotaro?]"...."
[Takeda Shingen?]"Ashikaga-sama I'd like to ask you something straight away."
[Takeda Shingen?]"when I met you in the (land of black and white)a while ago. What were you doing there?"
*[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"The land of Hakubu...Do you mena Shibuya?"
[Takeda Shingen?]"Shibuya....?"
[Mitsunari Ishida?]"I would also like to ask you a question. That place and this current situation are to vivid for a illusions. Do you know something sir?"
[Um...! What are you talking about? Illusions or something..?]
[My uncle doesn't know anyone like you..!]
[Date Masamune?]"If we just met for the first time, why did you helo us?"
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"Because I knew it"
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"You guys are my Destiny"
[3 people]"Destiny.....?"
[Yocchan...?]
[In recent years, he has lost his will]
[The reason is that there is nothing that can be done easily.]
[That's why I was always worried about him-]
[Now......ever since I met these people,I feel full of energy]
[I wonder how long it's been since I saw Yocchan like this......]
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"Romantic stories need background music"
[While saying this, yocchan stand in front of the music player and presses the play button]
[Hattori Hanzo?]"Wow,this sound..... singing? Where is it coming from?"
[Mitsunari Ishida?]"How lovely...no, how gorgeous? I heard the song earlier, but this is the first time I've heard something like this."
[Date Masamune?]"......Hey, isn't that the song from earlier?"
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"!"
[Fuuma Kotaro?]" I want to listen to that again too."
[Oda Nobunaga?]"......"
[That song from earlier? What are you talking about?"
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"----!"
[There was a power outage at the scramble intersection, so I don't think there was any music playing...."
[Fuuma Kotaro?]"........Eh"
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"Ah..."
Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"I see"
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"Is that so"
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"That song....I see..haha! Hahaha!
[Yocchan..?]
[Oda Nobunaga?]"What are laughing at?"
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"No, no I just thought about it. I haven't thrown away my life yet"
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"---Hey, you guys"
[2 people]"....."
[2 people]"....."
[2 people]"....."
[Yoshiaki Ashikaga]"Would you like to join me to take over the world with song?"

G1 Climax 33 Standings/Predictions/Whatever
One big advantage to this year's G1 Climax format is that it's a lot harder to tell who's going to make it to the finals. There's four blocks, and the first and second place scorers for each block will advance to a quarterfinal round. Usually, with these round robin tournaments, one or two guys pulls ahead pretty early on, and it's fairly obvious who's winning the block. At best, a couple of guys in the block will manage to catch up enough to threaten the leader, but the rest of the field ends up being mathematically eliminated.
I wanted to write up a thing with who I want to win, and who will probably win, but I kept putting it off because I wanted to see how the tournament played out, and now we're near the end and I still don't have a clear picture. We'll talk about it under the cut.
For example, this year's A Block winner is already SANADA, since he's leading with 10 points and no one can catch up to him with the matches that are left. But there's some stiff competition for second place. Kaito Kiyomiya and Shooter Umino are tied at 6, and the next four guys have enough points that they could conceivably pull ahead if they win their last two matches. I'm pretty sure Ren Narita's dead in the water, but that's still a lot more competitive than what I'm used to seeing in a G1 Block.
I would like Shota Umino to capture that second place spot, although it's his first G1, so that seems kind of unlikely. Then again, he and Kaito Kiyomiya are tied for second at the moment, and it's Kaito's first G1 also. And Kaito's not even a New Japan guy, so maybe it's not such a pipe dream for either of them to make the playoffs.
For that matter, the rest of A-Block seems to be first-timers, except SANADA and Chase Owens, and let's be real, they're not letting that fucker Chase Owns into the quarterfinals. I'm low-key annoyed that they put him in the tournament at all, and if he wins second place I might ragequit my subscription. You're telling me he's the 30th best wrester in NJPW? No. Anyway, Chase would need to beat SANADA to stand a chance at advancing to the playoffs, so I doubt that's going to happen. So it looks like it's going to be SANADA and a newbie, so why not Shota Umino, who's already ahead of most of the competition?
The other three blocks are less certain. Okada and Ospreay are in the lead in B-Block, with 8 points apiece. But Taichi's in 3rd place with 6, so it's not impossible that he might pull ahead of Ospreay. If he can tie Ospreay, he'd win because he beat him in their league match, so that'd be pretty awesome, because fuck Will Ospreay. He and Dave Meltzer can go fist each other in the forest.
But they'll probably send Okada and Ospreay to the playoffs, because Okada's their biggest star and they need Ospreay to continue this never-ending bullshit saga of who's going to lead NJPW into the future.
In C-Block, the current leaders are David Finlay and EVIL. Finlay took over Bullet Club while I wasn't watching, and his policy seems to be that Bullet Club should be hyper-agressive and mean all the time. This directly conflict with EVIL's "House of Torture" subgroup, which was founded on a philosophy of winning matches by kicking opponents in the balls over and over and over again. Seriously, EVIL's been a Bullet Club guy for three years now and he's wrestled exactly one match style that entire time. I hated the guy before he turned heel, and now he's even worse because his shitty heel act has become shitty AND stale. Evil fucking sucks.
I don't have strong opinions about David Finlay. Anything that gets him away from Juice Robinson is a good thing, but I don't think it's a good sign when Kevin Kelly has to keep reminding us of how everyone wrote him off as Jay White 2.0, but he's totally proven that he's not just a cheap Jay White clone. If that were true, Kevin, you probably wouldn't still feel the need to tell us that six months on.
Anyway, I can accept one shitty Bullet Club leader going to the playoffs, but not two. I'd much rather see Eddie Kingston make it to the quarterfinals, and that seems to be possible. He'[s in 4th place at the moment, behind Finlay, EVIL, and Tama Tonga, and he's also facing Finlay and Tonga in his last two block matches. So if he managed to win both of those, he'd be at 10 points with tiebreakers over each of them. I think that would get him where he needs to be.
As for D-Block, you've got Jeff Cobb and Zack Sabre Junior in the lead, and that's a-okay with me. They're tied at 8, which I don't think is 100% safe, but it's still pretty good.
Naito and Tanahashi are behind them with 6 points apiece, so it's probable that one or both of them could make it to the playoffs instead. I don't care for this, since the ongoing narrative with Tanahashi is that he's a big star who's slowly falling apart, and he keeps losing his matches because he can't accept that his finishing move, the Top Rope Fuckinator, might not be tactically sound for a 46-year-old man. I suspect that Naito's in the same storyline as Tanahashi, but no one's told him or the NJPW bookers that. All I know is these guys used to be big deals in New Japan, so every year they're presented as major players who could win the big one, only to get absolutely destroyed by guys like Jeff Cobb and Zack Sabre Junior. Whoever wins D-Block is probably just going to get beaten by Okada or Finlay, so let's just have a fresh match for that, okay?
The bottom line here is that I'm pretty satisfied with where this tournament seems to be heading. I don't particularly want Ospreay or EVIL in the lead, but it doesn't surprise me that they might advance, and my faves still have a strong chance. Mostly, it's just refreshing that I'm this far into the G1 and I still don't know who's going to the finals, which is a welcome change of pace from "Fuck you, we're doing Ibushi again."

Crossmarch and Mirai's Search For The Silver Fox
hi everyone! this was part of the @ikesennw‘s secret santa, written for @mitsushide from me. the fic focuses on her character, Mirai, facing her first Christmas in Azuchi posing as a princess of the Nakamura clan. in truth, she’s an undercover agent for the Crimson Lotus, an organisation of women looking to bring down the feudal warlords, and an all-around badass. also, local himbo Yukimura makes a cameo.
read her fabulous series beneath a night sky, vast & wide  for more context!
word count: 1550
pairing: hints of mirai/mitsuhide
Winter had come to Azuchi on swift wings, bringing a chill to the air and a coating of frost on the ground. But this year, the season was different. The Oda’s support of the Western traders had brought a new influx of foreigners to the gates of the town, and with them came stories of strange cultures and traditions. ‘Christmas’, as it came to be known, was a winter festival celebrated by many of these people - a time of feasting and gift giving and togetherness. Nobunaga Oda, with his endless fascination for anything new, had announced a holiday for the citizens of his provinces.
Mirai wasn’t sure what to think of all this. A day off for all the hard-working people of Azuchi was a step in the right direction, but it could just be one of Nobunaga’s passing fancies. There was no guarantee that this festival would become a tradition. Plus, she could barely pronounce the name. Christ-moss? Clip-mass? Whatever.
And just how was she meant to look for openings to rid the land of these warlords when the castle was flooded with people preparing for a banquet?
Ever since she’d arrived in Owari under the Nakamura banner and the guise of a sickly princess, she’d made sure to document the routines of the six key warlords, but they’d seemingly scattered to the winds. Mirai had caught a glimpse of Masamune Date cooking up a storm in the kitchens, the door to Ieyasu Tokugawa’s office had been barred from the inside, and Mitsuhide Akechi… was nowhere to be found. According to Honoka, he’d last been seen heading out to the town centre. She can’t say that trying to track him down is a wise thing to do - princesses don’t usually go around tailing people. But the sheer volume of people stocking up on winter goods and preparing for this strange festival provided safety in numbers and a golden opportunity to see what the kitsune was getting up to.
So here she is, standing at the edge of a crowded marketplace, attempting to track a man who’d perfected his disappearing act and to blend in all the while.
If she wasn’t so experienced, she would never be able to find him.  She cleared her mind and focused on the smells, sounds, and sights of the market, and kept pushing forward. Out of the corner of her eye, Mirai sees a swirl of teal and ivory. The chase is on.
He’s a worthy opponent. Mitsuhide ducks, dodges, and weaves through the town with the grace of a heron, while Mirai follows in his tread, slinking just out of sight. She can’t survey him from the rooftops (damn these unwieldy kimono skirts), so she darts into one of the many alleyways to stay out of sight. Their pattern of fox and mouse holds, right until the kitsune stops in his tracks at the very edges of the market, turning to examine a stall surrounded by trinkets and charms. Mirai is a tad surprised - he didn’t seem the type to enjoy frivolity, or anything uninvolved with torture for that matter.
His exchange with the shopkeeper lasts mere moments before he’s off again, out of sight and drifting away like a spirit with questionable taste in clothes. Thus comes an end to her fruitless chase. She needs to head back to the castle soon, anyway. After he had overcome his initial animosity, Hideyoshi seemed convinced that Mirai might drop dead from a cold as soon as the sun sank below the horizon. There was a slim chance he’d be too busy to notice her disappearance, preparing for the banquet and worshipping the ground Nobunaga walked upon, but it wouldn’t do to be questioned.
The road back to the castle gates was so much more boring without a target to prey upon. The crowds had dissipated a bit as it neared sundown, though some citizens milled about, browsing and discussing the coming winter. The winds were even more chilly, but she kept a measured pace.
There was something glinting in the last rays of the day. Mirai inclined her head towards the source, a blanket laid out with accessories much like the ones that had caught Mitsuhide’s attention. She was in no rush to return to the castle - regardless of the festivities, it was just another night of endless posturing and waiting for openings to strike. Looking at pretty things might suit her disguise.
She crouched to examine the wares, her eyes drifting over the kanzashi, hairpins, and obi charms. Aha! There was the culprit. A group of silver animals hung upon cords were caught in the light and a tiny fox curled up against its tail rocked gently at the forefront.
“You gonna buy anything? I’m about to close up,” came a rough, unrefined voice.
Mirai barely spared a glance for the man before responding in a cool tone.
“I am just admiring your wares, sir.”
“Well, admire them quicker! I’ve been busy all day with this… Crossmarch nonsense the Oda are putting on. I swear, all you girls are like this.”
He must have been blessed by the gods, because if Mirai didn’t want to blow her cover, she’d have attacked by now. Her newfound acquaintance was dressed head-to-toe in scarlet and his head, clearly empty, was crowned by a mop of brown hair. He also seemed to be the world’s worst spy - six golden coins were emblazoned on his chest, marking him as one of the Sanada. She grasped for the little fox she’d been examining, tucked it into her pouch, and chucked a few coins onto the blanket. Not the best use of Rui’s funds, but needs must when playing a princess.
“Good night, merchant. You may want to use those funds to buy a new kimono. One that’s less conspicuous.”
She glided away from the blanket, taking careful steps, only half-listening to the spluttered retorts of the merchant-warrior.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The moon peeks out from behind the heavy clouds to cast her light over the courtyard, lighting it up in splendour, and Azuchi’s newest princess watches in turn. She had broken out in shivers from the frigid air long ago, but the stillness provided a balm for her mind. The banquet had been so loud. The further away she was from crowds of rowdy men, the better - at least Mirai can be herself here under the moon’s watchful gaze.
The day wasn’t entirely a loss: she’d learnt the layout of the town, confirmed the presence of enemy forces, and managed to find a fox - just not the one she’d set out to catch. Her charm was threaded onto her obi cord, but Mitsuhide was still shrouded in mystery.
With his wit, guile, and access to information, Japan could be his. So what was his motivation for following a distasteful man like Nobunaga?
The moon slips away at the same moment she feels that something, or someone, lurking in the dark behind her. She’ll have to feign surprise if the presence behind her decides to declare itself, but her thoughts race - everyone has the same primal response to shapeless beings in the dark. Kaede’s words echo across time in her thoughts.
‘You are a warrior, but don’t forget the frightened girl that you were. Your past exists within you, dear Mirai. Use that fear to spur on the strength that will always rest in you.’
The words bring a pang to her heart, but she cannot say whether it is fear or pain or grief. She forces herself to breathe.
“Hello, little mouse.”
She casts an upward glance at the voice’s source. With his white robes shrouded in the pale moonlight, the man could pass for a ghost.
“Good evening, Lord Akechi.”
“Oh, do call me Mitsuhide.” His crescent moon smile is wickedly sharp.
“Mitsuhide, then.”
They remain in silence for a few moments.
“Why is our darling princess out here? You’re missing all the festivities.”
“I prefer quieter company. Everyone in the banquet hall is awfully loud for my tastes.”
“I see. You must be tired from your excursion into town, as well. Such a busy day,” he tuts.
Had he spotted her trailing after him? No matter. There was a challenge in his voice and she would not rise to it.
“I haven’t had much chance to explore. I had missed seeing new places and people, after being ill for so long.”
“No need to defend yourself, little mouse. I merely noticed your fetching new charm.” He gestured to the sleeping fox in the centre of her obi.
The kitsune brought something out of his robes and set it beside her, as his other hand rested upon her head. It was a battle for Mirai to resist raising her hackles at him.
“A Christmas present for you. I heard you like this particular bird. Good night, little princess.”
Then Mitsuhide was gone, disappearing down the corridor and leaving silence in his wake.
The only trace he had left was a bronze statue that fit neatly in her palm. A little quail. Was this a trick or some bizarre act of kindness, or did he really just like seeing her puzzled expression? The mystery surrounding him had grown. Mirai hoped she would get her answers soon, but they would not come on Christmas night.

G1 Climax 31 preview
The G1 Climax is an annual heavyweight tournament in New Japan Pro Wrestling. It's typically one of the top events in Japanese wrestling, because the biggest stars in the biggest company try to deliver their best performances. The tournament runs from September 18 to October 21.
All 19 shows (!) will stream live and on-demand at njpwworld.com for 999 yen ($9 US) per month. Because of the billing cycle, you have to pay for 2 months to see it all as it happens, or you can wait till October 1 and try to catch up in one month. Watching all 91 tournament matches (!!!) can be kind of grueling (especially if you're trying to keep up with other wrestling at the same time), so it's not for everyone. But there are bound to be some highlights worth going out of your way to check out.
The G1 is a round-robin tournament, with 20 wrestlers separated into two blocks. Each man wrestles everyone else in his block, and the one with the best win-loss record is the block winner. The winner of A Block then meets the winner of B Block in a final match to decide the winner of the tournament. The winner of the G1 Climax receives a trophy and a contract for an IWGP world heavyweight title match at Wrestle Kingdom 16 in January 2022.
Ordinarily the G1 would be meticulously planned out to ensure the most marketable main event at Wrestle Kingdom, so only a handful of guys have any real shot at winning the tournament. However, the pandemic has thrown off a lot of New Japan's plans. Also, since Wrestle Kingdom has expanded to a multi-day event, more and more wrinkles have been added to the traditional "#2 guy wins the G1 to challenge the #1 guy for the belt" formula. So this year's G1 has a lot more potential to surprise us--whether such surprises will be good or bad remains to be seen.
A Block
Shingo Takagi - The reigning IWGP world heavyweight champion. If he wins the tournament, he'll have the right to choose his opponent for Wrestle Kingdom. If there was ever a year to book the champion to win the G1, this might be it. Amid some tumultuous booking this summer, Takagi came from out of nowhere to capture the title, and they've put a lot of effort into making him look worthy of the honor. So it might be cool for him to run through the field, and choose a challenger that couldn't be here, such as Will Ospreay. However, the smart money is on Shingo losing two or three matches to fall short of winning the block and to set up challengers for other shows.
Kota Ibushi - The winner of the last two G1 Climax tournaments, in 2019 and 2020. Few wrestlers have won the G1 three times, and no one has done three in a row. But if anyone can do it, it's Ibushi. He was crushed by losing the world title right after he unified it, and he's clearly in Shingo Takagi's sights (they'll square off on October 3). If he doesn't win the block, I expect him to get very, very close.
Tetsuya Naito - He won the tournament in 2013 and 2017. Naito started 2021 by losing the IWGP heavyweight and IWGP intercontinental titles to Ibushi, who unified them into the current world title. Since then, he's been on the back burner; if he's going to be back on top in 2022, this is where we'll find out. He's the leader of Los Ingobernables de Japon, and Takagi is a member, so their match on September 26 will be particularly interesting.
Zack Sabre Jr. - One of the IWGP heavyweight tag team champions, Dangerous Tekkers. Sabre's technical wrestling presents a challenge for any opponent in the G1, so he can easily play spoiler, but he's probably going to finish in the middle of the pack. I'm particularly looking forward to Sabre vs. Yano on October 13, because their match in last year's G1 was a fun mix of chain wrestling and dirty tricks.
Tomohiro Ishii - One of the NEVER trios champions. Ishii is never going to win the whole thing but he reliably delivers solid performances throughout the tournament. His matches with Ibushi (September 18), Ibushi (September 23), and Naito (October 9) should all be must-see for hard-hitting, what-the-fuck intensity.
KENTA - He can go, but he relies heavily on stalling and other cheap heel tactics to slow down the action, so it's hard for me to get into his matches these days. I'm sure he'll really cut loose for some of his block matches, but it's hard to guess which ones. My main interest is in seeing him go up against his Bullet Club teammates Yujiro Takahashi (September 23) and Tanga Loa (October 13).
Great-O-Khan - This is his first G1, after doing a run-in last year to help Will Ospreay and form the United Empire faction. O-Khan's got an interesting look, but his in-ring work hasn't been blowing anybody away. This should be the clearest test of his upside--if New Japan thinks he can be a serious headliner, he should pick up at least five wins, and maybe even six or seven. I'm not confident that will happen.
Toru Yano - The KOPW 2021 champion. Ordinarily Yano is the comic relief guy, whose block matches are built around silly spots so that the other participants each a get sort of a night off. However, Yano's recent feud with Chase Owens seems to have reawakened the brawler gimmick he had years ago, so it's not clear which Yano is going to show up for the tournament. Either way, I would expect Yano to pull of some key upsets to throw off everyone's predictions.
Tanga Loa - Loa is making his G1 debut. Since joining New Japan in 2016, he's been almost exclusively a tag team guy. It's not unusual for tag teams to compete in the G1, but Loa and Tama Tonga seemed determined to stay out and focus on the tag division. So his appearance here is a little surprising, and probably indicates that New Japan didn't have a lot of other options. He should do well in the ring, but some guys are going to finish 4-5 or worse, and I think he'll be one of them.
Yujiro Takahashi - Yujiro went 1-8 in last year's tournament, because somebody's gotta lose a lot, and that's his role. He's almost certainly going to to do the Bullet Club bit where either Kenta (September 23) or Loa (October 3) will talk him into laying down for the good of the team, but then he'll refuse at the last second. The most interesting thing about Yuje right now is he's a part of the "House of Torture" subgroup emerging within Bullet Club, but I don't expect that to matter much in his block matches.
B Block
Kazuchika Okada - The winner of the 2012 and 2014 tournament. Okada hasn't held a championship in nearly two years, and that's unlike him. So he's an easy pick to win this block and perhaps win the whole G1. The only problem is that he's got some stiff competition from other favorites like Hiroshi Tanahashi (September 19) and SANADA (October 4). He probably needs to win at least one of those two matches to make it to the finals--if he loses both, I'm not sure a 7-2 run is enough.
Hiroshi Tanahashi - The IWGP United States champion, and the winner of the G1 in 2007, 2014, and 2018. This will be his 20th appearance in the tournament, so he's got the decisive edge in experience. Tana is always going to be presented as a strong contender to win the block. But the only reason to have him win the whole thing would be to do an "aging legend makes one more run at the top" story, and they already did that three years ago. So look for him to have good matches, but don't count on him making it to the finals.
SANADA - He was the runner-up in last year's G1, which was a little baffling because I felt his booking that year was designed to build to a huge victory. He's felt like an afterthought since then. Will New Japan give him a lot of wins to remind everyone he's still a rising force? I'm really not sure.
EVIL - On paper, he's a big deal because he betrayed Los Ingobernables de Japon to win the IWGP heavyweight and intercontinental titles last year. But after Evil lost those belts his stock dropped. New Japan still trots him out like he's a major threat to the top champions, but he just does a bunch of low blows and then loses anyway. I think they'll protect him, because they're going somewhere with this "House of Torture" stuff. But I can't believe he'll win the block, except possibly to troll the audience.
Taichi - One of the IWGP heavyweight tag team champions, Dangerous Tekkers. I was always down on Taichi but he grabbed my attention with his weird kicking contest against Kota Ibushi last year. Since then he's been more fun to watch, although that's mainly been in tag stuff. If he's truly set aside the boring stalling tactics, then his block matches this year could be fun. But he's probably going to wind up right around that 5-4 or 4-5 range.
Jeff Cobb - Cobb should be a big deal, but he's basically the #3 guy in the United Empire (and there are only four guys in the group), and he hasn't had a lot of chances to score big wins. By the time he got to beat Okada a couple of weeks ago, I'd kind of lost interest. This is his big chance to remind everyone he's a beast. It'd be cool as hell if he went to the finals, but I'm not holding my breath on that.
Tama Tonga - This is his first G1 in three years, and before that he always seemed to be over the whole thing, so it's kind of weird to see him back here. Even when he wasn't focused on tag team wrestling, he was always a 4-5 guy, and I don't foresee a big singles push changing that this time.
Hirooki Goto - One of the NEVER trios champions. Goto's career arguably peaked when he was the runner-up to Kenny Omega in the 2016 G1. He should have good matches with everybody in the block, but he's not a game changer, and I don't see him getting to 5-4.
YOSHI-HASHI - One of the NEVER trios champions. Yoshi has always been a loser, to the point that winning the trios title (which has always been kind of a joke) was actually a huge deal for him. Goto, Ishii, and Yoshi have managed to defend the title nine times over 400 days, so it feels like Yoshi is finally on track. But there's a big difference between that and doing well in the G1, against top guys like Okada, Tanahashi, Evil, and Sanada. He could very easily go 2-7 in the block. Just getting to 3-6 would feel like a major milestone, honestly.
Chase Owens - The self-proclaimed "Texas heavyweight champion," for some reason. Owens has been the bottom guy in Bullet Club for years. I don't know if they decided it's time to push him a little, or if they literally had no one else to put in this thing. Not that it matters, since he's in the same "lose a lot" spot as Yujiro. The difference is that Yujiro might win a match to justify putting him in next year's field. Chase might actually go 0-9. So at least it'll be kind of fun wondering when (if) he can post his first win.

Bonding
Featuring:  LIJ
Category:   Light angst/light fluff
Word Count: 1726
Warnings: Language and drinking
Just some LIJ family bonding time.   It ends kind of abruptly and really doesn’t have a point, but I felt like writing it soooo.
It wasn’t the usual kind of hang out for the boys of Los Ingobernables de Japon, but then again, that was kind of the point.  This wasn’t a night out like their usual.  This was a night for bonding.  No pussy allowed.  To remove temptation, cause god knows despite his best intentions Naito will fuck someone if the opportunity presents itself, they had congregated at a dilapidated run down bar in one of the worst neighborhoods in the city.  Women wouldn’t be caught dead in this place.
Sanada arrived first, refusing to remove his gloves or coat on the chance his skin might actually come into contact with something in this bar.   There was no one else in this world he would venture into a place like this for.  Even when slumming it with Evil he had his limits.   But for the four men who were his brothers, and the fifth who was slowly inching his way into that spot; Sanada would compromise his standards.
As he commandeered a table in the back with enough seating for them all Sanada could feel the eyes of the clientele on him.  He knew he looked out of place, his designer clothes sticking out like a sore thumb and he could only imagine they were imagining jumping him.  A part of him hoped they did.  If he wasn’t going to get laid tonight, perhaps a fight could entertain him.  Show anyone that dared to fuck with him that he wasn’t just a pretty face.   With a sneer of derision and face full of challenge Sanada locked eyes with two men seated near the door who were eyeing him in rampant speculation.
That was as far as it got when the door burst open with a loud bang, sunlight briefly blinding the bar and casting over the hulking figure pushing in.   Sanada rolled his eyes as he took a seat in a rickety chair he wasn’t entirely confident could safely hold his weight, watching as those who had been sizing him up immediately looked away from Evil’s intimidating presence.  Evil didn’t even have to do anything for others to recognize the danger that wafted from him.
Shouting out for pitchers of beer to the barkeep Evil scanned the room and found Sanada, pushing through the empty tables to join his friend.
“You order anything to eat?”  Evil said by way of greeting as he slid into the seat next to Sanada, frowning as the chair protested under his weight.
“Hell no.  I’m not risking food poisoning.”  Sanada sniffed with a look of disgust.  “I can’t believe you’d even think about food in here.”
Evil simply laughed and stretched across the table for a menu.
“I’ve got a cast iron stomach my friend.”  Evil bragged.  “I can eat anything.”
Their pitchers were delivered and Evil gave his order for an array of appetizers before reaching for a glass and filling it with the frothy brew rolling his eyes at Sanada as he pulled out a silk handkerchief and polished the glass before deigning it worthy to drink from.
“You’re such a priss.”  Evil told him.  “How am I even friends with you?”
Sanada shrugged and took a pull from his mug nose crinkling at the cheap bitter taste and longing for a nice aged scotch or bottle of chardonnay.
Bushi’s arrival heralded stares as it usually did, a masked man was wont to draw attention no matter where he was.   He too kept his gloves on as he slid into a chair across from Evil exchanging a glance full of commiseration with Sanada.  While nowhere near Sanada’s level of snobbery, this place was pushing Bushi’s comfort boundaries a bit too much for his tastes.
“You’re seriously going to eat here?” Bushi asked Evil incredulously as the first of several plates were brought to the table.
“Of course, I’m starving.”  Evil said a sauce drenched Jiaozi already headed towards his mouth, eyes closing in bliss as he chewed.
“It’s good.” Evil mumbled through a mouthful.  “You should try it.”
“You’ll excuse me if I doubt your culinary divinity.”  Sanada scoffed making Evil shrug.
“Your loss.”
Shingo was the next to arrive, looking rather worse for wear, his appearance speaking of a long night out but a bright grin on his face.
“Long night?”  Bushi asked as Shingo sat next to Evil and immediately reached for the pitcher of beer.
“Just a little.”  Shingo said as he downed half his glass in quick gulps.
“Not hungover?” Sanada asked surprised Shingo didn’t seem even the slightest bit out of sorts from his escapades the night before.  Judging by the looks of him, he hadn’t been home since leaving the arena last night.
“That’s the key Sanada-san.”  Shingo said grinning widely.  “You have to stop drinking to get hungover.”
That made the gathered men snicker. They were quickly learning there wasn’t a party Shingo didn’t enjoy or a drink he would turn down.   He rivaled Evil in his ability to handle his alcohol, no small feat as Evil was undisputedly the king of that domain.
Their laughter cut off abruptly when the door swung open once again, all of them shooting to their feet and hurrying towards the door like worried mother hens as Naito appeared with his arm hovering around the waist of Hiromu Takahashi.
“Back off guys,”  Naito waved them away in annoyance making them part to create a path, Evil moving ahead of them to shove tables out of the way, glaring at the man at one of the tables who dared to grumble at him, to make a walkway for Hiromu.
Bushi hurried ahead of Evil and pulled out a chair, pushing and shaking it to make sure it was stable enough before deeming it suitable for Hiromu’s use.  It was a slow process, Hiromu well on the road to recovery, but on his first public outing and Naito was fussing over him to take it easy.  Hiromu was barely recognizable from the frenetic ball of energy they were so used to, dressed in muted clothes with his hair pulled back in a ponytail and glasses perched on his nose.  A stark contrast to be sure, but they were all excited to see him out of the hospital.  It was difficult for them all to visit him at the same time in the small room he was housed in, making them have to spread them out so they all had the chance to see their littlest brother.
Once everyone was settled conversation flowed smoothly, everyone talking over the others as they tried to keep Hiromu’s attention and fill him in on the going ons since the last time they had seen him.   Hiromu sat quietly, happy to soak up all the chatter and thrilled to be the center of attention.   It wasn’t so often that he garnered all this from his brothers.  Drinks flowed and food was eaten, even Sanada wearing down and grabbing a few bites with mumbled warnings of kicking Evil’s ass if he got sick.
It made Hiromu sad that he wasn’t going to get to stay with them long.   He was only allowed out for a few hours before he got dragged back to his hospital room.  There he would be alone to flounder in his self-doubts.  No matter how much they visited, and how earnest they were in their proclamations of missing him dreadfully, there were still those nasty voices in his head saying they were going to forget about him.  That he was a broken toy and his brothers and the fans were going to move onto the next big thing.   Unbidden his eyes moved to Shingo, his lips pursing tightly as he looked at the newest member of LIJ.
“I’m not trying to take your place Hiromu,” Shingo said catching the look, a hush immediately falling over the table at his words, worried looks cast at the frowning Hiromu.  “I don’t want to replace you.”
Naito frowned looking between the two men.  Did Hiromu really think that?  Hiromu was the one who suggested they find a sixth member in the first place.
“Nobody is ever going to replace you Hiro.”  Bushi said firmly.  “Nobody can and we don’t want anybody to.”
“Why wouldn’t you?”  Hiromu said softly, lowering his eyes to stare at the fingers wringing in his lap.   “Shingo is so much better than me.   Bushi and I never almost won the junior tag tournament together.  He deserves a partner who can take him to the top.   Why would you want someone who may not ever wrestle again?”
“I don’t give a shit about your wrestling.”  Evil snapped. “You’re my brother.  My family.  I’m just going to forget you because you can’t go in the ring? Stop with the bullshit Hiromu.”
“Evil!”  Naito chastised.
“What?  He’s got a broken neck so I can’t get pissed off that he thinks he’s worthless?”  Evil argued.  “That he thinks our feelings are so shallow that we’ll move onto the next shiny new thing the second he turns his back?”
“I don’t think that!”  Hiromu protested vehemently.
“Obviously you do if you think we’re going to leave you behind.”  The anger seeped from Evil’s words, trailing off into uncertainty.   “You must not think very much of us.”
Uncomfortable silence descended over the table everyone looking everywhere but at each other as the bitter words floated in the air between them.
“Fuck beer, we needs shots.”  Bushi muttered rising to head to the bar.
As he moved Evil heard someone muttering about “masked freaks” making Evil’s head shoot up, his eyes glaring holes into the culprit.
“Say that again bakayarou!”  Evil spat.  “I’ll pull your tongue out with my bare hand and watch you choke to death on your own blood.”
The man paled and sunk back into his seat, shifting so he was looking in the opposite direction of Evil.
Muffled giggles came from behind Hiromu’s hand and it wasn’t long before it spread throughout the table, the Ingobernables laughing loudly and tension melting away as Bushi sat down a tray filled with double shots.
One by one the grabbed shot glass and clinked them together in the center.
“To family.” Naito proclaimed, his words enthusiastically echoed by them all before the shots were downed.

Day 11: Did you find the gifts i’ve been leaving you? | Sanada Yukimura
★ Ikemen Sengoku Fanfic ★ Sanada Yukimura, OC Note: SFW | Contains a theme that may be uncomfortable to some | AU | OOC Prompt List
Yukimura looked into the mirror and adjusted his thick black glasses. He ran his fingers through his hair and smiled, satisfied. He looked good. He grinned. He wanted to look good before he left the house. He shrugged his black t-shirt back on, covering his well-toned body. Smoothing out the wrinkles on his shirt, he studied the room and placed his fingers on his chin.
“Where should I hide my present this time?” He said out loud. He fished out the red Cartier box from his jeans pocket and opened it. He shook the box gently, moving it from right to left, making the diamond sparkle. He smiled. The perfect ring for the perfect girl. He imagined her lighting up as she opened the box, surprised. She would put on the ring and kiss it, spinning around in happiness.
A flash of regret crossed his face. It’s too bad he wouldn’t be able to see her expression when she found his gift. He had to leave soon. Painful as it is, he’s never been able to see her react to any of his gifts of love. His work took too much time out of him.
He remembered all the gifts he’s left her. It started with a little handmade card for when they first encountered each other. He had hidden that in a coat pocket. It was the first time he’d ever made any handicraft but he would do it for her. He’ll do anything for her. His eyes twinkled at the thought. In the card he had written all his thoughts about her and had professed his undying love.
He sat on the bed and absent-mindedly touched the Egyptian cotton sheets. He thought of the fourth gift- a hundred red roses, scattered all over the bed- a sign of his devotion to her. He had made sure that there were no thorns on the roses so that she wouldn’t accidentally prick her delicate, precious skin.
His gaze went to the bed side table and he smiled fondly. He had been a little over-the-top with this next gift. The eighth gift. He had bought her a Mercedes C-Class Cabriolet. He remembered placing the keys in the bedside drawer. He had parked the car downstairs. He knew she liked her old C-Class saloon but he thought she needed a new car; that thing looked like it had travelled down many beaten roads. She still drove her old car but he didn’t fault her for that- he knew how much she loved her car.
He sighed and surveyed the room once again. He eventually decided on the underside of the pillow on the bed. He placed the box gingerly beneath and patted the pillow down. That’ll do, he thought. She’ll find it. She was so good at her job.
He took one last look at himself in the full length mirror, checking to see if he looked decent. He grinned widely, and left the room. He was on cloud nine as he thought of the gift he had left behind and how happy she’d be.
-
Vicki came into the room and examined it. She ran a hand through her hair and sighed. Another long day. She glanced at the right side of the room. The body had been removed but the blood had stained the wood floors. She was used to such sights but it still unnerved her. She pinched the bridge of her nose. A knock came and she turned. Ieyasu was expressionless.
“Victim was 25-years-old, male. Strangled to death. He sustained wounds from numerous stabs made by the attacker after he came out of the bathroom,” Ieyasu said simply.
Vicki nodded and wore the rubber gloves she had stuffed in her jeans pocket.
“Get Mitsuhide in here as well.” She said as she began searching for evidence.
“Yes, Detective.”
She started with the bathroom, combing every nook and cranny. She almost jumped when she heard Mitsuhide’s baritone voice call her name. She hadn’t even realised that he had come in.
“You need to stop that, Mitsuhide. You scared me,” Vicki said, walking out of the bathroom.
Mitsuhide shrugged. He held up a red box.
“What is it?” Vicki asked, walking over to him.
He said nothing and gave it to her, watching her reaction.
Cartier. It was printed in gold cursive font on the box. She furrowed her eyebrows and opened it. A huge diamond ring greeted her. Her expression tightened. She gave the box back to Mitsuhide.
“Take that thing back to headquarters. It’s evidence.”
Mitsuhide sighed.
“Another gift, huh.”
-
Yukimura stared at the TV, the light from the screen illuminated his face in the dark room. He clasped his seat when he spotted her on screen. His breath was caught in his throat. She looked beautiful and... tired. Hmm... He should give her some vitamins the next time, he thought. He listened to her attentively.
“We’ve found strong evidence to believe that this crime was committed by Sanada Yukimura.” He shivered when she said his name.
“He’s evaded capture for a few months now but we’re making double sure that he’ll be caught and trailed for his crimes against innocent lives. I would like to reassure everyone of that. He will not get away,” She says, her face determined.
Yukimura frowned. That guy was far from innocent. Yukimura had seen him eye his beloved with lust when she had passed by him during a trip to the convenience store. He had then followed him back to his apartment and taught him a lesson. He would do anything to protect her.
When the broadcast ended, Yukimura raised an eyebrow. Maybe he should let her catch him; then he’ll finally be able to talk to her. He chuckled darkly. No, maybe not yet. He had many other little gifts of love he would like to give her.

Setting off the Trap
The uneasy truce was certainly felt throughout Azuchi during the visits made by Yukimura, Shingen and Kenshin. Kennyo was the common enemy to eliminate, though it was going to be a free for all once he was captured as to who would get the ultimate decision as to what to do with him. Most of the warlords had intercepted a plan from the determined man to kidnap me, though Ieyasu and Yukimura were now viewing it all as a personal battle to one-up each other after they’d both had to rescue me twice from hired rohins and devoted followers in an attempt to lure out the rushed alliance before everything was decided. After Yukimura had carried me back a second time, Ieyasu had told Oda to put a ban on me going anywhere alone.
Nobunaga had agreed to it and issued the order immediately. Which meant that I now seemed to have all of the warlords around me most of the time. I was summoned to war councils every day and then added in to bring some of my sewing along to do since it was basically ensuring that I wasn’t being left out of their sights. I had been moved into Ieyasu’s manor just before the final order, and he was looking a little grumpy that I was being constantly moved about now as to where I was staying on a daily basis. It was strange, he was moody whenever I was under his care but even more so when I wasn’t. Mitsunari was able to spare me an hour or so and was taking me to one of the tea houses for some dumplings to escape the oppressive atmosphere.
Just to get out of the castle was a relief, though my happiness was short lived as Yukimura came running down the wooden ramp to catch up with us. “Mitsunari, the whole castle is looking for you,” he huffed, “You’re wanted in the hall.”
“I do apologise Natsuki,” the angel smiled sadly and bowed as well.
“It’s not your fault, I was just looking forward to spending some time outside of the castle,” I replied, trying to reassure the man. “It’s okay, another time.”
“I’ll take you,” Sanada spoke up suddenly, then blushed a little at how eager his response had been as we both looked at him. “I mean it’s not like I’m needed currently and getting out of the castle sounds good.”
“You are too kind, you’ve already rescued me twice,” I smiled broadly. “You might want to bring your sword with you.”
The three of us walked back in a slightly uncomfortable silence. I was the inevitable buffer between them and somehow had managed to become quite a treasure on both sides, even if I wasn’t sure any of us understood how I’d done it. I had quickly learned that Shingen natural reaction to any woman was to flirt, so to handle him was the same line of technique as it was to when Masamune started getting a bit hands on. Kenshin’s instant response was to kill first, ask questions later, but Sasuke was his handler for certain as the usual distraction was to mention sake or pickled plums. Yukimura was I trying to figure out in many ways, he was brash and referred to me as a wild boar on many occasions, but was also the first of the Uesugi-Takeda forces to offer me protection. He would go out of his way for me at times and had spent our entire second trip back from the final rohin capture complaining to me about how I made myself an easy target by not knowing how to defend myself. I got the inkling that he didn’t understand his feelings either on the scenario.
Ieyasu had already started teaching me medicine since it was becoming quite clear that Nobunaga had no intentions of leaving his lucky charm behind for any skirmish or battle. And that way I wasn’t being a hindrance to anyone in his words. It would generally also free him up instead of being the main healer in the troops. But my lessons had ceased with the constant movements, and I was starting to miss my time with the prickly male as I loitered in the entrance way of the castle.
It didn’t take long for Yukimura to reappear, his face relaxing as he saw I hadn’t wandered off and I gave him a little wave. I felt like I’d been in the castle for months as we left again. My coin purse was slipped away securely in my obi, and then halfway down the bridge, Sanada paused and the frown on his face told me that he was thinking too hard as I couldn’t hold back my laugh. He blew the air out of his mouth and then offered me his hand, the tips of his ears blushing. “You know, just so we don’t get lost, you’ve had enough adventures and caused enough problems,” he replied, trying to brush it off as nothing as I couldn’t stop my laughter and put my hand in his.
“Sure Yuki,” I teased lightly.
I felt as though I was being watched, but glancing back over my shoulder proved my theory to be false. The vassal shook his head at me and pulled me along to get down into the town.
All of the vendors had been more than relieved to see me safe and well, as I made sure to take enough time studying the newest fabrics and patterns and discussed getting a delivery up to the castle for me. Yukimura was constantly on the lookout and trusting no one as his hand was resting on the hilt of his sword. Then one of the seamstresses passing by noticed I had donned one of my latest creations, a doubled over band of fabric that sat comfortably around my head and kept my hair out of my face, a type of headband that didn’t dig in as I’d found that it was annoying to needing to keep styling my hair out of the way on a daily basis. It also acted as a good cover in the rain since I would usually be caught without an umbrella. So we had stood and chatted for a little while about that. It took us a long while to get to the tea house, and then we were seated at the high point of the covered seating, where no one could sneak up on us or get to me without attracting a lot of attention. The whole town it seems had heard of my misadventures and targeting.
The tea was refreshing as the dumplings were as sweet as I remembered them, and even Yuki looked to be enjoying himself as everyone was keeping their distance and creating a barrier of sorts around the entrances. His smile softened as he tasted the dumplings, and I remembered that it must have been a long time since he was last here and posing as a merchant when I had talked him into coming here with me.
“It’s refreshing to see you with that smile on your face,” I commented, and then watched the vassal close back up. “Aw, I was enjoying you relaxing,” I teased, poking his cheek.
“Pfft,” he retorted and shoved a dumpling into my open mouth. “Eat these, though I swear you are as bad as Lord Shingen for sweet things, I’ll probably need to start rationing you as well,” then he eyed me up and down.
“Putting some weight on might stop me being carried off so easily,” I scoffed, feeling a little sulky at the comment.
The male immediately started trying to backpedal. “No, I didn’t mean that!” He panicked. “Too many sweets isn’t good for you is all I’m saying.” His eyes were threatening to pop out of his head as I gave him a side look.
A scoff attracted both of our attention as Ieyasu plonked himself down on the cushion next to me. Another pot of tea came over as the two men were silently weighing each other up as I rolled my eyes and found I had another serving of dumplings in front of me, the tea house owner giving me a wink.
“Thanks,” I smiled generously. “You are going to run yourself out of business if you keep spoiling me this way,” I laughed, clearly ignoring the chest beating that was going on around me.
“Who knows how long until your next visit? Might as well lavish on you now Princess,” he replied, waving any attempt at the payment I was going to make, though I was given another subtle wink as he jolted his head towards the men.
“Who knows indeed, thank you kindly,” I replied, taking the hint and the fresh dumplings.
Ieyasu was asking me about various herbs and medicines, purposely trying to keep Yukimura out of the conversation and my attention focused solely on him. I was feeling sorry for him as the three of us were soon joined by Shingen and Sasuke, and the sake was brought out. Tokugawa was definitely going nowhere it seemed as Takeda swapped my tea for sake, and ramped the charm up. Whilst Sasuke was simply there as damage control it appeared.
It was a couple of hours before I could convince any of them to move. Apparently, I was attracting a lot of attention as the situation kept going on, and it was making me feel a little uncomfortable. It was bad enough having all of the spotlight on me with the six warlords I was used to, never mind another three and then all of the townspeople too. It was an odd feeling to be so treasured as Sasuke escorted me back to the castle. Ieyasu apparently needed to go to the market and Shingen was staying for more sake which meant that Yukimura wouldn’t leave him unsupervised.
Sasuke was looking vaguely amused once we were clear of the chaos. “So, you’ve got everyone looking at you it seems,” he smiled.
“Tell me about it, I thought having my parents phone me a few times a day was bad enough, but having nine overbearing warlords definitely beats that. Especially when there’s a genuine reason for concern,” I groaned, my head tilting back and looking up at the sky. “I thought Mitsunari was the only free one today anyway,” I paused and frowned as I looked back at Sasuke.
“He heard that Mitsunari was needed, but he was meant to be escorting you, and Lord Shingen apparently said something about ‘go and spend time with her’ according to Lord Kenshin,” he replied eventually after a heavy pause.
“You all can’t keep sacrificing things for me,” I sighed, rubbing the back of my neck.
“On the contrary,” Masamune and Hideyoshi greeted us at the gate, as Date’s arm was slung around my shoulder with a slightly perverted grin. “You are the key to this mystery currently. So getting you out in the town is now the game plan, especially if you keep attracting such a crowd so that people will pay attention to you without looking out of place.”
“So, I get to deal with all of Azuchi focusing on me?” I replied nervously, and watching where Masamune’s hand was going as he nodded. “Great.”
“Don’t sound so worried,” Hideyoshi sighed, taking Date’s hands off me. “It just means you’ll be going into town with at least two of us as guards most days,” he smiled and patted me on the head. “We’ve already been hearing reports of what was happening in the tea house when Ieyasu appeared after Yukimura was already with you. So it means they’re more likely to come and study us all for openings.”
“But if I’m constantly out with at least two of you,” I frowned. “Then that’s no guarantee you’ll get anywhere.”
“No, but you’ll have a regular routine, and then all of a sudden we drop the guard,” Masamune explained.
“Right,” I nodded. This was going to be really awkward for me, I could usually handle having all of the warlords' attention in the castle, but add in the publicity, and I had a feeling I was going to be put on a stage effectively.
Mitsuhide was relishing in embarrassing me as much as possible the following day as we walked around the market with Hideyoshi in tow. I wasn’t sure if Toyotomi was trying to mother me more or scold Akechi for his antics as I didn’t try to show them both how much I was enjoying the show they were performing for me. A few of the merchants had comments about unusual activity on the trade routes, but nothing concrete as Mitsuhide would slip them a few coins and Hideyoshi would make a mental note of who to chase up on his next visit. Ieyasu was pacing outside my room as we returned. The fabric had been delivered from yesterday’s visit as he stalked me straight away from my room and to his manor, muttering about having time for lessons.
He was as close to me as possible, his hand shadowing over mine as we trailed through books on disguising poisons. His choice of topic was a little macabre but necessary as he advised on coating weapons and how to ensure nothing caused a mishap. I was practically sat in his lap as a knock startled us both, and Yukimura entered without waiting, a very unusual move for the man. The glare he was giving to Tokugawa was making me feel uncomfortable as it turned out I was staying with Shingen that night and to tell us both that dinner was ready as Nobunaga had called for all of us to be present.
I was happily sat adrift of the glaring duo, and placed between Nobunaga and Hideyoshi as all of the food prepared for me was taste tested by a young maid. She would take miniscule amounts, enough to show that if poison was present without overdosing on anything, despite my protests to Oda. I had to sulkily accept it as the rest of the warlords immediately agreed with him, and then Nobunaga surprisingly replied that the maid was being appropriately rewarded in monetary terms for the job.
Yukimura insisted on escorting me back to Shingen’s chambers, under the facade that he didn’t trust his lord to not be a gentleman. I could see Ieyasu practically turn green with envy, which was starting to concern me. “Have you realised it yet Natsuki?” Shingen humoured himself after I was stretched out in my futon, my head turning towards him as he was enjoying a bit of sake whilst watching the moon and stars.
“Realised what? Why I’m constantly under guard?” I queried, sitting up to look out over the scenery from where Shingen was at his ‘post’.
“Why Ieyasu won’t leave you alone,” he corrected with a chuckle.
“He does,” I replied, frowning.
“He was really busy yesterday, and then heard that Yuki was the one escorting you around Azuchi, so he wore such an expression that Nobunaga suggested he go and find you,” Takeda was enjoying this far too much.
“I really doubt that,” I shook my head, a sigh escaping in the meantime.
“And then how do you explain the look he was giving Yuki when you were escorted from the hall to here? I know you saw it,” he teased.
I was blushing and was immensely glad it was dark enough that the warlord couldn’t see. “I don’t know!” I scoffed before laying back down and turning onto my side so Shingen couldn’t see any further reactions to his jests.
I was yawning incessantly the following day. I had been so flustered by Takeda that it had taken me forever to get to sleep, and then it was constantly full of dreams of being kidnapped again when I did drop off. I was beginning to think of hunting down to Sasuke to find out when coffee would be brought into Japan as I walked straight into Yukimura.
“You really are hopeless,” the vassal sighed, patting me on the head. “Come on, this way,” he joked, taking my hand and leading me to the hall where everyone had already assembled for the next meeting.
I was then snatched by Ieyasu, and seated promptly next to him, as Shingen gave me a look of ‘I told you so’ whilst I remained completely confused. Sanada backed off and went to sit next to his Lord, whilst some food was passed to me by Tokugawa, though he was busy ‘warning’ off the others with his bitter expressions.
“She’s asleep?” Hideyoshi sounded surprised as Ieyasu was shifting about in discomfort at the position she was using as her pillow. They had been thoroughly discussing how best to confront the rohins and how much longer to continue the facade of the warlords' guards when she failed to answer a question that Nobunaga asked. Shingen was looking smug, especially as Ieyasu was torn between pummeling the man into the ground and storming off with the slight woman.
“She keeps having nightmares,” Takeda spoke up. “I couldn’t sleep, she woke up after screaming every time,” he was serious, and looking at her with concern as Natsuki’s face began to twist and scowl. “I’d take her somewhere quiet and get her something to eat and drink,” he shrugged.
Oda nodded merely to Ieyasu, who carried the Princess in his arms back to his manor. The rest of them were ceased in any movement by Nobunaga and Shingen.
“This is something they need to sort out,” Nobunaga announced. “Masamune, I’m sure the kitchen could do with a hand to fix up a nice batch of okinawa soba,” he suggested, looking at the one-eyed dragon. “And maybe some okayu as well.”
It smelt homely when I began to stir, and there was someone next to me as I slowly opened my eyes. I could just smell the food from the kitchens as my stomach made a loud grumbling noise in response.
“How long have you been having those nightmares?” I froze at the sound of Ieyasu’s voice and realised I was clinging to him as the heat source. “Natsuki,” he sounded tired and lifted my chin up so we were looking each other in the eyes. “What did I tell you about other men?”
“That you’re all the same?” I was trying to think of anything except how close we were.
“You started to have a nightmare until I held you, then everything calmed down,” he frowned. “And everyone else reported something similar, despite that you were passing it as one-offs to them all.”
“I guess you’re the lucky one?” I tried to smile, but my heart was threatening to burst from my chest.
“Apparently so,” he murmured, his lips closing on mine softly. “Stop touching everyone else, it makes it harder to tell them you’re mine,” he scoffed, wrapping me up in his arms tightly. “Especially with how easy you are to read, stop it,” he muttered as everything in me was glowing with happiness.

Alone Time
I’m having a lot of SANADA feels lately so this happened! Warning it’s all smut so if you are underage or don’t like smut please don’t read ^^ Also this is my first time writing smut so I hope it’s okay! Hope you enjoy! :3
Tumblr media
You couldn’t wait to get home, it had been a long few weeks and now you finally had some time off. The best part of all this was that your boyfriend was also off for a few days. Dating a pro wrestler wasn’t easy with all the travelling around but you made it work. You were also excited to have some alone time with Sanada. It had been two months since you actually got to be on your own with him. While you two had seen each other during that time there was always people around. Anytime you went to a New Japan show, LIJ mostly Hiromu took most of your attention. It also meant sex was a no go. The one time you two tried, Hiromu somehow managed to get a hold of your room key, came in and demanded you spend time with him and Daryl, taking no notice that you and Sanada were in nothing but your underwear. Neither of you had the heart to tell him no and to get out of your room. You also didn’t want to face the wrath of Naito if you upset Hiromu. So here you were two months later without sex and super pent up. You knew Sanada would be home when you arrived as the most recent New Japan tour had ended the night before. You opened the door to your shared apartment, dropped your bags and took off your shoes.
‘I’m home!’ You said.
‘In the kitchen.’ Your boyfriend replied.
You made your way to the kitchen and stopped in your tracks once you saw him. Sanada was standing in the middle of the kitchen shirtless with low riding grey sweatpants. Your couldn’t keep your eyes off his defined abs, God you missed him. “Hey baby.” Sanada smiled. You didn’t hear him as you were lost in your thoughts of what you wanted to do to him and more importantly what you wanted Sanada to do to you. Your panties were getting wetter by the second.
“Y/N? Are you okay?”
You snapped out of your thoughts but didn’t reply. Instead you walked straight towards Sanada, pulling him in for a passionate kiss. You slipped your tongue into his mouth and moaned into the kiss. You started grinding against him, really enjoying the friction it was creating. Sanada was the first to break away.
“Somebody missed me.” He smirked. “Want me to make you feel good baby girl?” You groaned at his words and nodded your head. You loved when Sanada was like this, it was so sexy.
“Use your words baby girl otherwise I wouldn’t know what you want.”
“I want you to make me cum so hard.”
Sanada smirked at your words. “I’m sure that can be arranged.” He picked you up and placed you on the kitchen counter. He went straight to kissing your neck. His hand started sliding up your leg and continued under your skirt.
“Already so wet for me baby.” He said when he felt your panties. Sanada started rubbing you through your panties causing you to let out a loud moan. He moved your panties to the side and slipped two fingers inside you. Your hands went straight to the front of his sweatpants. You started to rub Sanada’s member causing him to groan and crash his lips into yours. Even with Sanada’s fingers doing an amazing job it wasn’t enough for you. You needed your man inside you now.
“Baby get inside me please. I need you.” You moaned. Normally Sanada liked to make you beg more but since it had been so long since you last had sex he didn’t have the patience. He took his cock out of his pants, pumped it a few times before sliding into you. It took you a second to get use to Sanada’s thick cock. He waited until you nodded at him to start moving. He quickly picked up the pace, slamming into you. You wrapped your arms around his neck, grabbing onto his hair as the pleasure built inside you. You were both quickly reaching your end. Sanada reached down to your core and started rubbing your clit. You came screaming Sanada’s name. You finishing had Sanada reach his orgasm. His cum filling you up. You both leaned against each other catching your breaths.
“That was amazing. I needed that.” You said breaking the silence.
Sanada laughed “I figured as much. Feels good having you back in my arms. It was also nice being able to have sex and not getting disturbed.”
Suddenly there was a knock on your door.
“Y/N? SANADA? YOU GUYS HOME?” Came a familiar voice.
“Seriously.....it’s like Hiromu knows when we are having sex.” Sanada groaned. “ You go get yourself cleaned up while I deal with the cockblocker outside.”
“Or we could just ignore him and go upstairs and continue this in the shower.”
“God I love you. You do know Naito will kill us if he finds out we ignored Hiromu right?”
“Yeah but it’s worth it.” You smiled jumping off the counter, following Sanada upstairs.

Desolation III - Saizo x MC
Author’s note: Here is chapter 3. Hope you enjoy it.
Word count: 486
Modern AU
Tagging: @suzunesays @quincette @uxoremmikael @that-otome-potato @marin23jones @books-and-colours @mistakenmessenger
It had been a long day, without any sight of the brown haired girl, much to Saizo’s displeasure. He needs to see who this girl is. Why does he feel she is the woman from his dream? The sound of loud giggles make him look towards their source. He can make out a group of girls near his next class. One of them hits the other with a book. Saizo looks on, unusually intrigued.
‘If you do know, then tell her who he is, Umeko. Please.’
‘Matsuko! That hurts! Now I’m definitely not going to say anything.’
He move closer to the group and spots the long brown hair. The girl is standing with her back to him. Found you.
Matsuko hits her friend again in obvious exasperation.
Umeko rubs her arm playfully and replies, ‘The silver haired guy, right? He’s friends with Sanada Yukimura. His name is Kirigakure Saizo.’
Oh, so they were talking about him.
‘I see.’ The brunette’s voice is quiet now. An emotion he can’t quite name stirs his heart at the sound of her voice. It was sweet, but at the same time, somewhat mournful and–
A strong hand claps down on his shoulder, shaking him out of his musings.
‘Why did you sit in a seat so far away from mine, Saizo? I was so bored, I couldn’t understand a single word.’ Yukimura smiles happily and punches his shoulder lightly. ‘Why are you standing just outside class, though? Your cheeks are red. Saizo, are you okay?’
Saizo did not move. The brunette must have heard Yukimura talk and say his name. She says something to her friends and walks towards the exit.
Saizo looks at Yukimura’s expectant face. ‘Cover for me, little lord,’ he says, as he walks towards the exit. He needs to catch this girl, right now, before she disappears. Something tells him that she might leave if he didn’t hurry. People moving to and fro between classes slow him as he chases after the girl from his dreams.
Who is she? Why is she asking around for him? Why is he reacting this way? He could care less. Against his better judgement, he runs after her, his heart gripped in the sudden anxiety of losing her.
As he runs, he remembers something from a long ago, when a child of the shadows went against the whole village of Iga, wanting to save his only light, the woman he loved. How the snow had fallen that day. How he had sent all those assassins to their deaths in a rage and sent her running away for her own safety.
He stops when he reaches the parking lot. The brunette has stopped too, her back facing him as she fumbles with her car keys.
‘Please.’ His voice is hoarse, unnatural. Why is he pleading with this girl he doesn’t know?
Who is she?
He knows her, but he doesn’t.

You Deserve It
*This is just something I randomly wrote while listening to Earned It by the Weeknd along with Say Yes by Floetry*
Rated: S for Smut
Characters: Evil/Original Character
Notes in Advanced: It’s super long because I feel like details are important. That’s about it. Enjoy tho and tell me what you think. ^-^
Tumblr media
As you watch your boyfriend of 2 years, EVIL *aka the Juggernaut of LIJ*, walk down with his titantron looking epic as ever in the background along with his scythe, robe, and skull mask, you feel excited as he steps in the ring and stares maliciously at the crowd during the G1 Climax 27 event, in which Naito, Bushi, Sanada, Hiromu, and Evil have talked your head off about for months.
Not only were you excited for the match that Evil has but you’re excited about what surprise he said he has for your 2nd anniversary, which is tonight, the night of his match with Okada. While you sit in the audience, you heart begins to flutter yet beat fast out of pure nervousness due to the conversation you and him had the night before about the match.
*Flashback to Last Week*
“Y/N,  I’m a bit nervous about this match. I know I worked hard but what if the hard work doesn’t pay off?” He asks you as you both are cuddled up, watching episodes of Berserk. “Takaaki, you’re going to do great. You’ve in this business for years now,” you say to him as you rub his face and look into his eyes.
“What if you or any of the LIJ members don’t support me?” He asks you with his head held down. “Baby, you will be fine. I promise you will. When you get nervous, think of your LIJ family. But if that doesn’t work, think of me,” You say with a smile.
You smile as both men are in the ring and immediately, there were screams everywhere. People were screaming “Okada” and “Evil” all through the arena. As the match began, Evil quickly kick him in the gut and the match officially. As it began to intensify over 20 minutes later, he reaches for the pin, only for Okada to kick out.
You sigh as you were on edge and saw how much he wanted this win. From the time he worked out almost every day in the gym to practicing rope runs and high kicks. You feel it in your heart how much he wants to win. He immediately recovers from irritation and puts him in a powerbomb. 1.. 2.. Okada Stays In It.
Tumblr media
You began to say to yourself, “Be humble and remain calm.” They began to battle in a test of strength as Okada fights out of a headlock only for Evil to be knocked down minutes later. You cross your fingers while watching closely. As Evil recovered from the European uppercuts, Okada runs for the clothesline only for Evil to deliver a clothesline so mean, it almost takes Okada’s head off.
He sends Okada into a suplex and another clothesline. 1..2.. The Match Goes On. You’re getting nervous as it’s been 25 minutes already and both men are in it. Okada pulls Evil into a clothesline and screams as the arena went wild with chants and applause. Seconds later, he pulls him into another suplex only for Evil to duck and kick him in the guts. The crowd goes crazy and Evil does his signal for his finishing move, pulls him in for the kill, and Okada sends him into a suplex of his own. As he sets Evil up for another suplex, he ducks and hits Okada with his finishing move.
1.... 2... 3...  EVIL did it.. He beat.. Rainmaker.. My eyes brighten as the anxiety you felt left as everyone in the area, including myself, screams in happiness and excitement. He lays there and holds his hand up as the announcers says, “Evil, the King of Darkness, beats the IWGP Heavyweight Champion!” Evil steps on Okada as the referee holds his hands in victory.
Tumblr media
As the cameramen and interviewers talked to him, you blush and see how happy he is. As we walks your way, you turn around and pretend you didn’t see him. He turns you around and says, “Hello there, beautiful. Was my match good?”
You giggle and answer, “It was more than good. It was great. Congratulations, sweetheart.” As you giggle, you stand on your tippy toes for a kiss, only for him to stop you while saying, “Ah ah ah, not so fast. Let’s save this for after I’m not sweaty.” You sigh, rolls my eyes, pout, and say, “Fine.” He stops at the locker room door and says, “Just wait for me, okay?” You smirk at him and ask, “What makes you think I’m going anywhere?” He goes into the locker room, takes a shower, and comes back out 20 minutes later.
You pant deeply and asked, “What took you so long? Did you have a match in the shower too?” He fixes his tie and says, “For starters, no. I took a shower and got dressed for the occasion. Happy Second Anniversary, Y/N.” He kisses your forehead and says, “Let’s go, I saved a reservation.” He opens the car door for you as you sit down and buckle your seat belt. He runs and gets in the car and drives out of the parking lot.
He stop at the restaurant that made reservations at. You got out of the car as you dust off your black mini dress and fix your black shoes with chunky heels. As you were both seated, you both laugh, giggle, and eat as you both drank red wine and began feeling the same feeling you both felt when you first met at your first wrestling match.
He pays for the meal, leaves a tip, and drives you both to the house you both share. You both walk in as he shuts and locks the door and puts the keys on the kitchen counter. You take off your heels as you feel Evil’s hands rub your side and grind against your butt. You giggle and walk towards the bedroom only to see the room lit and the bed full of rose petals. He closed the door behind him and he came in and said, “Happy Anniversary, baby.”
You blush and say, “Thank you, sweetheart but I’m going to need you to sit down.” He scratches his head and says, “Funny how you’re telling me what to do when it’s typically reversed.” He sits down on the edge of the bed as you look at him as you slip your black mini off to reveal that you were wearing a pair of black lace bra and panties that you bought from Victoria’s Secret last week on your own. He widened his eyes and took off his tie as you walked towards him and whispered in his ear, “Just shut up and let me work my magic, baby. You deserve it after all.”
You rubbed him from outside of his pants as he fidgets and finally unbuckles his belt and throws it onto the floor. I unzipped his pants and bit my lip at the marvelous, thick beast that finally escaped his pants after me teasing him in the car on the way back from the restaurant. I looked at him and went down and licked the tip, only to hear a groan and a sigh escape from his lips. I continued and put my mouth to work but all of a sudden, he moans, stopping you from continuing, picks you up and lays you down, unhooks your bra, and pulls down your panties. He looks at you and pecks your lips.
It didn’t take long for the peck to turn into a full out intensified, passionate kiss. He pulled from the kiss and spread your legs as he looks at your vagina and says, “What a masterpiece.” You raise your head and look at his face as he winked and immediately dives in, licking your clit. You heard your moans through the silent room and began putting your fingers in his hair but the intensity started seconds after. He starts sucking on your clit as you see bright lights and galaxies as you arch your back. You moan, “Baby, please.” He whispers in a husky tone, “Cum for me, sweetheart” and you did as were told.
You were a sweating mess as he got up and began to prepare to enter you and says, “You taste like strawberries.” He went in slowly as you both moan in unison. You began to moan all over again as he sped up the pace. He lifted up your legs to wrap around his waist as he said, “Look at me, princess.” While your orgasm was building up, you look at him as he begins to pound you into the mattress and the headboard begins to bang against the wall.
He groans and tries to control himself while saying, “You like that, don’t you baby? You like when I like treat roughly?” You literally felt the radiating heat between you two and felt more on edge as you scratch your back while screaming out. He stops, enters you from behind as you grip the sheets and wiggle your toes. You feel yourself getting closer as his sturdy hands pull your hips to him repeatedly hitting the perfect spot while slapping your ass and kissing your neck.
Moments later, you both moan out as you cum in unison.
He catches his breath and cuddles with you saying, “I love you, Y/N. Happy Anniversary.” You smile and say, “I love you too, sweetheart.”

Think I'm caught up on the World Tag League now. Some observations:
It doesn't look like Dangerous Tekkers is doing so hot in this thing. I forget how many matches they have to wrestle, but I think they're 2-3 so far, which doesn't sound great. I think Juice and David Finlay are in the lead with 8 points. DT only has four.
Then again, the lesson I learned watching the G1 was that these round robins are almost impossible to call this early in. I thought Jon Moxley was in good shape to win B-block because he got five straight wins to start off, while big stars like Jay White and Naito were having really lackluster runs. But White managed to build a winning streak of his own, and Mox couldn't score that much-needed sixth victory. So it's likely that Juice/Finlay are only winning big now because they're due to hit a rough patch later.
I think that's the formula with these tournaments. A few entrants flame out early on, so by the halfway point, you already know they're mathematically eliminated. The you have guys who sort of win every other match. Some of them manage to stay in contention to the end, and they're kind of the dark horses in the tournament. Ibushi was a dark horse, at least to my way of thinking. He lost to KENTA and EVIL pretty early on, so I was convinced he couldn't pull this off, since Okada was on such a roll. Maybe everyone else knew Ibushi would win the G1, but I was somewhat surprised to see him win A Block.
Anyway, it feels like Juice/Finlay are in the Okada or Moxley role right now, building an early lead before the others start to catch up. The Tekkers can still win this thing, especially since they hold a win over Juice/Finlay. But I feel like they're just sort of there to be there. Zach Sabre Junior seems confident about winning, but I don't see it yet.
G.O.D. looks more solid on points. I think they're 3-1 so far, but that could just be designed to make them look strong in the tournament. They're the champions, so they ought to beat most of the other teams. I guess there's not much point to having them win the tournament, since the whole point is to establish a #1 contender, but they should probably be one of the top scoring teams.
Mostly, these matches I've watched have been pretty low-key affairs. Both teams had really standout performances against Suzuki & Archer, and against each other, but the other matches have just been pretty good. I like the relaxed feel to it, honestly, where these guys are mostly just mixing it up in a small venue with no commentary and minimal camera work. But I'm not expecting bigger and better matches against some of the upcoming teams. Honma and Makabe, Goto and Fredericks, these seem like ad hoc teams set up to fill out the tournament. The matches should he enjoyable, but I saw a lot of these dudes in tag matches on G1 Climax undercards, so I don't expect much more than that.
I guess the big team to look forward to is SANADA and EVIL, since they won this tourney in 2017 and 2018. I get the sense that they're the only "proper" team in this thing besides the G.O.D. Maybe I'm wrong, but the rest look like a bunch of singles wrestlers who paired off. I think Dangerous Tekkers might become a full-on thing, but it doesn't have to. Ishii and YOSHI-HASHI have chased the tag titles before, so maybe this tournament is about getting some of these guys to bond into a more permanent unit. I hope so. We need more of that in wrestling.
I've been thinking about tag team wrestling a lot, since AEW has really been pushing to make it important again. WWE has tried to revitalize their tag division several times over the years, but it never sticks, and I think I've finally figured out why. Every time I watch a tag match in AEW or New Japan, I keep instinctively expecting teammates to turn on each other. Heel team loses a match? One of them should blame the other and attack them. Face team loses a match? One guy should attack the other and turn heel to set up a singles fued. Scorpio Sky gets a title shot against Jericho? The other two guys in SCU should betray him out of jealousy.
And it never happens, which is a good thing, because if they did it every time I expected it, then they'd run out of tag teams. The problem WWE has always had is that they pull that trick way too often, which is why I've been conditioned to expect it. It's like they don't know any other way to book a tag team except to split them up. And usually, neither guy gets over. Yeah, Shawn Michaels turned into a big deal when he turned on Marty Janetty, but Enzo and Big Cass tanked hard. Their teamwork may have been the best thing those two had, and they destroyed it on a whim.
What I like about the World Tag League is how the Dangerous Tekkers support each other, win or lose. They seem to really enjoy working together, and they don't point fingers when they lose. When they beat Suzuki and Archer, there was a moment where it looked like the whole Suzuki-gun stable might collapse, but instead they all did fist bumps and congratulated Zach for the win. I've been watching backstage comments where it's clear that Goto and Fredericks aren't doing well, and Fredericks blames himself because he's a rookie, but Goto's chill about it, and seems to take this whole tournament as a way to mentor Karl Fredericks. He's not going to turn on Karl because this story is about camraderie and teamwork. They'll probably win matches late in the tournament once Karl gets more acclimated to it.
Same thing with SCU in AEW. SCU is a three-man unit, but Scorpion Sky and Frankie Kazarian won the tag title tournament, and Christopher Daniels made it clear that those two are the champions, and he's content to be the third guy in the group who currently doesn't have a title. I dig that a lot. the Freebird Rule is fine and all, but it's already being done elsewhere, and it's refreshing to see a team willing to set aside egos for the sake of the group. Sky and Kaz give Daniels a ton of credit, and Daniels supports them as the champions. In another era, it might sound hokey or commonplace, but after years of watching WWE's constant backstabbing angles, it's really comforting and reassuring.
I've always believed that conflict is the essence of drama, so I can understand the WWE philosophy of everyone being at each other's throats, but if you play that to the hilt, 24-7, never relenting, then how can you expect any tag team to matter in the long term? And without proper tag teams, how can you expect anyone to care about the division?

you wrote goodness aka sanada sandwich ahdkabkandjakah ????? omg i just realised this is your blog. thank you and bless you i am peacefully ded by the time i finished the story💖💖💖
OMG MAKE MY LIFE WHY DON’T YOU 💚😭💚 Thank you!!!
That’s me, nonnie! I hope you enjoyed them, they were ideas that squirmed around my brain and would not go away until I put pen to paper and fingertips to keys. I ❤️ Nobuyuki. His lazy, catlike cleverness, or the way I read him that way anyway, floods my basement and overflows to water my crops. I like ‘em smart, interested enough to calculate, and assured enough to cop to manipulating things if they’re called on it. And Nobuyuki screams that to me. Or maybe very, very quietly murmurs it into my ear while I’m bent over the side of the bath
Sorry, woke up in a puddle. What? Right!
I am thinking of writing more. Akiba’s “condition”, shall we say, at the end of Kindness makes me think things would be easier in some ways but more difficult in others for the three to continue. But if I return to that story I’d like to explore:
(On mobile, sorry, can’t make proper bullets)•Nobuyuki having permission to do *exactly* as he pleases, which I imagine would be quite dark but very partner-cherishing at the same time? A lot of taking ownership of the other’s (others’!) body and lottttttssssss of commentary. Edging to *just* shy of absolute incoherency. Maybe more than once. Guuuhhhhhhh•Nobuyuki’s kind-but-keeping-his-inner-self-concealed way (and and out of chambers) with his own wife •Yukimura goin’ downtown on them both, or kissing Nobuyuki after he goes down on Akiba or SOMETHING; I want him to put his mouth on Nobuyuki. 😝 I feel like Yukimura’s tender idolization/adoration of his other brother could go into some territory that would make some readers very uncomfortable in an unpleasant way but thrill me so I’ll tag, I’ll cut, I might talk myself out of exploring that entirely 🤣•Another consensual scene, this time the less gentle stuff that Akiba thought about briefly •Feverish Nobuyuki spilling all his ~eMoTiOnZ~ as his family tends to him•Nobuyuki and Jinpachi having a VERY coded conversation about what happened •Saizo rolling his eyes when one or all of them tell him what’s up “Empty-headed little lords and ladies think they’re better at keeping secrets than they are, hmm?”•The scene at the jewelry makers, and the lead up to it (The Tale of Two Bracelets)•Crackfic where Masayuki catches wind of some rumor of this and has a dignified conniption•Yukimura and Akiba’s meeting/courtship/wedding•Akiba And Nobuyuki meeting, from their perspectives and Yukimura’s•Akiba+Yukimura bb! and and and…
If any of those sound particularly interesting to you, sweet nonnie, or to anyone else reading this, lemme know!
Right now I’m working on a sweet Shigezane in lurrrrrv (with just one person 😇) piece, and a sad but tender Kansuke “goodbye/only” sex story. I would really, really like to write some Ieyasu smut because I have a mighty need for it and I believe others do as well but I can’t write his post-MS romantic style to my satisfaction. 😩
THANK YOU so much! Comments really really reeeeally gratify and validate and please me and fill up my loving cup. Yours made me feel wonderful. ✨💜✨☺️

G1 Climax finals preview
Saturday night!  Sunday morning!  2am Eastern!  Watch it on demand tomorrow afternoon!  Or go to bed early and set your alarm to catch the end of it.  Or be like Shawn Michaels with that intern and stay UP! ALL! NIGHT!
Oh, and if you’ve been hearing about the G1 for the last month, don’t think it’s too late to get into it.  This is not some prestige nerd show where the finale won’t make sense if you didn’t watch the last 18 episodes.  All the backstory was cool and all but it’s in the past, and all that matters now is the present, brother.  You don’t have to be a super-dork like me and watch the whole thing.
However, for the benefit of super-dorks, I gotta put the entire card under a cut because I don’t want to spoil last night’s show (it was good).
Tetsuya Naito vs. Kenny Omega - This is the final match of this year’s G1 Climax tournament, between the winners of A Block and B Block.  There is no time limit and there must be a winner.  Aside from a trophy and an oversize novelty check, the winner of the G1 receives a briefcase containing a contract for an IWGP heavyweight title match in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom, the big Tokyo Dome show on January 4.  (Omega is the IWGP US champion, but the title is not at stake here.)
Naito won the G1 Climax in 2013, but he infamously faced backlash from fans who didn’t accept his push, and his title match with Kazuchika Okada was actually bumped to second billing (it was put to a vote and fans picked Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for some crazy reason).  The bad feelings over that formed the basis of Naito’s slow turn to a heel character that is too chill (tranquilo, 焦んなよ) to give a shit what the fans think or whether his opponent is pissed off that he’s stalling.  That got so hot that he’s essentially a tweener now, with more face heat from being a super-dick than he ever got in 2013.  If he wins here and goes on to face Okada for the title, this time ain’t nobody votin’ him out of nothin’.
Omega won last year’s G1, becoming the first non-Japanese guy to do so.  It’s only been 20 months since he took over the spot AJ Styles left behind, but in that time he’s reshaped both Bullet Club and the role of evil Westerner in his image.  Omega, of course, took his G1 briefcase to Wrestle Kingdom 11 and started an epic rivalry with Okada, and there’s a lot of hype to see the fourth chapter at Wrestle Kingdom 12.  Of course, there was a lot of hype to see Omega vs. Kota Ibushi here in this match, and that didn’t happen, so don’t count on New Japan not to dick with your dreams.
It’s unusual for the leaders of heel factions to face off at all, let alone one-on-one, so the last time Omega and Naito wrestled was a year ago in the G1 B Block finals.  That may have been the best match of the tournament (if not all of 2016), and this time both guys don’t have to save anything for tomorrow.  The only real plot point here is that both guys are fucking exhausted--Naito reportedly has a legit shoulder issue, and Omega has been selling injuries that may or may not be based on actual ones.  I feel like it evens out to a fair fight, but expect to see them wrestling more like wounded animals than fresh fighters at their athletic peak.
Either guy could win.  In my heart of hearts I think Omega should go on to win the title from Okada in the Tokyo Dome, but I have to admit nothing would be more appropriate than Naito disrupting somebody else’s epic push.  In terms of long-range booking, the big issue is that Kenny has a very full plate, between chasing Okada, leading the US expansion, teasing a Bullet Club civil war with Cody Rhodes, and defending the US championship.  Naito, in contrast, doesn’t have a clear direction; he could go after the intercontinental championship again, but it’d just be a repeat of his last run with it.
My gut says that in a perfect world--where New Japan’s US plans work out--Omega leaves the world title behind to be the ace of the US brand, while Naito and Okada become the Big Two of the domestic market.  That may not be how 2018 actually pans out, but it feels like that’s what NJPW is shooting for today.  So I’d probably lose money on it, but I’m betting on Naito.
Kazuchika Okada & Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano & Gedo vs. EVIL & SANADA & BUSHI & Hiromu Takahashi - One of the key storylines coming out of the G1 is that Evil scored a win over Okada, so until things are settled with Omega and Naito he’s the logical #1 contender.  This match should play that up, along with possibly some direction for Evil/Sanada/Bushi and the NEVER trios championship.  Okada looked like he got killed to death last night so he probably needs to get a win here, but I bet it won’t be too painless.
Hiroshi Tanahashi & Kota Ibushi & Michael Elgin vs. Minoru Suzuki & Zack Sabre, Jr. & Takashi Iizuka - During the tournament intercontinental champion Tanahashi was pinned by Ibushi and Sabre, and NEVER champion Suzuki was pinned by Elgin, so we’ll probably see some teases of those potential title matches.  Suzuki just suffered a pretty humiliating loss to Toru Yano so I expect they’ll make it up him with a win.
Hanson & Raymond Rowe vs. Cody Rhodes & Hangman Page - War Machine is defending the IWGP heavyweight tag team title.  They won the belts from Bullet Club’s Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa back in the US tour, so now they’re facing two other Bullet Club guys.
The Cody/Page team is interesting in that you’ve got the ROH world champion (who is a fairly big deal in NJPW) with a glorified curtain jerker.  One-on-one Cody would be the heavy favorite against either guy from War Machine, so the question will be whether that’s enough to win with literally any random-ass warm body for a partner.  My guess is no.  War Machine retains.  (Here is the awesome War Machine theme so you can listen to it when they probably won’t play it at the show.)
Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson vs. Ricochet & Ryusuke Taguchi - Ricochet challenged the Young Bucks for the IWGP junior heavyweight tag title back in the US tour.  (The Bucks are also the ROH tag champions and the self-proclaimed “superkick tag team champions,” but none of that matters here.)
The recent history of the junior tag belts has been a seemingly endless circle jerk between the Bucks, Rocky Romero/Trent Beretta, and Ricochet/Matt Sydal, and I was pretty sick of it.  But with Sydal turfed out last year and Beretta switching to heavyweight, New Japan is finally forced to go in some other direction, even if it is just “Ricochet gets a new partner.”  At the very least, Taguchi’s weird comedy nonsense and butt-related offense make him totally different from all the aforementioned flippy dudes.
I never expect the Bucks to lose because they’re so key to the NJPW/ROH/Hot Topic machine, but honestly they do lose quite a bit (if only to win the belts back later), so you never know.
Juice Robinson & Satoshi Kojima & Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Bad Luck Fale & Yujiro Takahashi & Chase Owens - Juice is riding high after his win over Omega but he’s not going to be able to do much about it for a while, so he’s stuck fighting Bullet Club in the undercard.  I’d put him over to keep his momentum going, but they might want to do that with Fale too.
Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI vs. Togi Makabe & David Finlay - Not even sort of a story here, just three guys who didn’t do so great in the tournament and one jobber who wasn’t in it.  I’m picking Goto and Yoshi to win.
Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi vs. Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa - Nagata just had his last G1 tournament match, so now it’s time for his last match of the tour.  I’m hoping for a win, but the Guerillas of Destiny are kind of a big deal in the heavyweight tag division and probably shouldn’t be doing a job like this.  So it’s a real toss-up.
KUSHIDA & Jushin Thunder Liger & Tiger Mask & Hirai Kawato vs. TAKA Michinoku & Taichi & El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru - This is a straight-up rematch from the night before.  I missed that match but I gather the Suzuki-gun juniors beat up Kushida and stole his belt, and I haven’t heard he got it back.  Sounds like payback is coming.

Quiet
Requested by: anonymous
Featuring:  Sanada
Category:   Brotherly bonding
Word Count: 1895
Warnings:  Language, vomiting, mentions of sexual activity,
32.          “Just leave me alone.”
“Just leave me alone.” Sanada growled waving away the girl attempting to hang on his arm.
He needed quiet.  Now.  With a migraine tugging at the edges of his brain Sanada knew he needed to find someplace dark and quiet or he was going to be down for the count.   With a hand shielding his eyes from the pulsing lights of the club Sanada stumbled through the writhing bodies, pushing people out of his way with barely a glance his eyes focused on the door just a few feet from him.
The brisk night air served as a slap in the face, greedily sucking in the cold night air as he waited for his driver to pull his car up to the curb.   White flashes started appearing in his peripheral vision, an ache forming in his forehead.  Tumbling into the car, Sanada lay across the back seat.  Throwing his arm over his eyes he took deep breaths and could only hope the worst of it would hold off until he got into his bed.   He didn’t get them often, but when his migraines struck they came hard and fast.  If he caught them in time with quiet and rest they wouldn’t materialize into anything debilitating, but he could already tell he wasn’t going to be so lucky this time.
Clutching his head Sanada climbed out of the car as soon as the door opened, waving off the concerned driver and struggling to get his key in the doorway, wavy lines dancing across his vision.  Somehow he shot and chained the door, but didn’t make it past the bottom step before he collapsed, his vision going black and making him kneel on the cold marble, resting his cheek a few steps up oblivious to the hard stone digging into his ribs.   Eyes squeezed shut Sanada took deep measured breaths trying valiantly not to throw up as nausea rolled through him.
The shrill ringing of his phone sent screaming pain through his head making Sanada scramble blindly for the phone in his pocket hurling it across the room at the wall, the resultant shattering a satisfying sound as the noise cut off.  Laying his cheek back on the tile Sanada closed his eyes once again willing the awful pain away and wishing he wasn’t so far away from his medication.
Back at the club Evil and Naito were in the VIP section they had commandeered earlier in the evening with Sanada.
“Are we ready to get out of here?”  Naito asked tearing his lips away from the woman seated next to him.
“I’m ready if you are,” Evil grunted his hands gripping the waist of the woman straddling his lap and grinding herself on his cock.  He turned his head to ask Sanada frowning as he realized his friend still hadn’t returned from the dance floor.
“Where the fuck is Sanada?”  Naito asked realizing at the same time that Sanada hadn’t reappeared.   Pulling out his phone Naito called him, sitting up with worry creasing his features as the phone was answered but then disconnected with a loud bang.  “That’s weird.”
“What?”  Evil asked pushing his companion off his lap as he took in Naito’s concern.
Naito held up a finger as he dialed again his agitation growing as there was no answer and it went to voicemail.
“The call connected but he didn’t say anything then there was a loud bang and I lost the call.  Now he’s not answering.”  Naito said. “He wasn’t here.   It was too quiet to be the club.”
The two men left the lounge, heading out into the busy club searching through the intertwined bodies for their teammate.  Coming up empty inside the club they wandered outside cursing as they were informed Sanada had left in the limo.
“Somethings wrong.” Evil said flatly.  “He wouldn’t just leave without saying something.  And he certainly wouldn’t leave us stranded.”
Naito bit his lip as he thought, mind racing as he tried to figure out where Sanada would have wandered off to without a word to them.   It didn’t fit him.  If everything was okay they would’ve gotten a text letting them know he was taking off, and he certainly wouldn’t have taken the only ride.  As much of a selfish prick as Sanada could be, he didn’t pull shit like that on his brothers.
“Wait!”  Evil exclaimed, something approaching excitement in his voice as he pulled out his phone.  “We share our locations.  Just in case.”  Pulling up the app Evil pinged for Sanada’s last known location as Naito came to hover over his phone waiting for a response.   He couldn’t believe he had forgotten about that.  It was something they all did for safety, sharing their location with all the members of their stable just in case something went wrong.
“He’s at home.”  Evil said when he finally got a response.  “At least as of twenty minutes ago.”
“That lines up with when I called him.”  Naito said.   Exchanging a worried glance they hailed a cab anxiety at a high as they headed towards Sanada’s house.   It was a silent ride, each of them imagining the worst and wondering what they were going to find when they got to his house.
Rushing up the front steps once they arrived, Evil muttered curses as he found the door locked, Naito ringing the doorbell incessantly as Evil dug in his pockets looking for the spare key Sanada had given him long ago.
“Fuck!” He shouted when he got the door unlocked only to find himself barred by a chain.  “Sanada!”
Receiving no answer Evil huffed in irritation pressing his face into the crack trying to see inside, panic starting to rise as he saw the remains of a shattered cell phone scattered on the floor.
“Shit, I see him!” Evil exclaimed pushing hard on the door as he saw the foot of his friend barely visible through the crack.  Stepping back Evil lowered his shoulder then slammed into the door snapping the chain and sending the door flying open, Evil almost falling on his face before catching himself.
Naito beat him to Sanada’s prone form, his fingers immediately searching for a pulse and listening for his breath, relief palpable as he found both.
“Sanada,” Naito said anxiously, lightly slapping his cheeks, ignoring the vomit on the stairs and around Sanada’s lips.  A small groan came from the man, Evil kneeling near his face as Naito shifted his body.
“Sanada, come on bro, wake up.”  Evil urged.
Hearing familiar voices Sanada cracked open his eyes only to slam them shut immediately with a loud groan of pain as the brief movement send shards of pain through his mind.
He could hear Evil and Naito whispering around him, crying out as he was lifted into Evil’s arms every step jolting his head and making his nausea boil over again.  Unable to stop it vomit flew from his mouth, down his chest and all over Evil’s shirt.
“Gross,” Evil said swallowing back his own nausea and quickening his pace to the bathroom.   Naito hurried around him, turning the water on and standing to the side as Evil lowered Sanada under the spray.
“Do we need to call an ambulance?”  Naito asked staring down at Sanada and trying to ascertain the seriousness of his condition.
“No!”  Sanada moaned curling on his side as the water pelted him.
“What happened?  What’s wrong?” Naito asked kneeling down as Evil stripped off his vomit covered clothing.   “Did you take something?”
Sanada’s minute shake of his head made another surge of relief course through Naito and Evil.  Given what they had encountered they couldn’t help but think of a drug overdose.
“Migraine,” Sanada managed to spit out, crying as pain ripped through his body again as the bathroom lights permeated through his eyelids.
“Shit, lights out man.”  Evil said immediately rising from his crouch to flip off the lights.  “Sorry man.”
Naito pulled off his shirt and reached into the shower to grab Sanada and shifting him onto his back, his head cradled in Naito’s arm.  Taking the washcloth offered by Evil, Naito carefully wiped Sanada’s face and brushed his hair back before setting about stripping off his shirt and tossing it in a sopping pile in the corner.
“What do you need?” Naito asked softly, doing his best to hold Sanada still as his eyes squeezed shut and pain was clearly etched on his face.
“Pills.”  Sanada gasped out.
Evil was gone in a second hurrying upstairs towards Sanada’s bedroom and into the en suite.  Digging through the medicine cabinet he quickly found the prescription pills reading the directions carefully as he hurried back downstairs.  Swinging by the kitchen he grabbed a bottle of water and returned to Sanada’s side handing a pill off to Naito with the water watching worriedly as Naito pried Sanada’s mouth open and poured in some water followed by the pill.
Clenching the struggling man’s mouth shut Naito held Sanada still until he swallowed.
“I think we should get him out of there before he catches pneumonia.”  Evil suggested and Naito nodded stepping out of the way so the stronger man could lift Sanada out of the shower.   With a grunt Evil lifted him in his arms, wandering down the hallway until he came across a guest room.   Setting Sanada down on the bed Evil headed back to the bathroom.  He needed a shower of his own before the throw up on him made him puke on his own.   He had ignored the smell thus far, but he couldn’t anymore now that Sanada was relatively dealt with.
After showering he stole one of Sanada’s t-shirts that ended up being ridiculously tight on him but it was better than nothing.
“How’s he doing?”  Evil asked as he came into the room and found Naito lying next to Sanada whose head was laying on his chest.    Evil threw himself across the foot of the bed wincing as the neck of Sanada’s shirt pulled against his throat.
“He’ll live.” Naito said.   “You’d think he was you with how dramatic he’s being over a silly headache.”
“Fuck you.”  Evil said emphatically with a weaker protest issued from Sanada.
“I don’t know why you didn’t come get us you idiot.”  Evil said shortly kicking Sanada’s foot lightly.
“I couldn’t see straight I certainly wasn’t thinking,” Sanada responded barely opening his eye to glare at Evil.
“Obviously.  We had to come rescue your ass.  I was just about to get my dick sucked. Instead I got puked on.”  Evil taunted him.
“Fuck you.”  Sanada said flatly.  “I certainly didn’t ask you to come here.”
“You’re right.  We should’ve left you to choke on your own throw up.”  Evil shot back hiding his grin.
“Boys,” Naito said in exasperation.  “You don’t always have to fight you know that right?”
“Yeah, but is more fun that way.”  Sanada said with a weak grin, stretching out the aches in his body and leaning back into his own pillow.
“Don’t worry pretty boy,” Evil said.  “I won’t beat your ass while you’re recovering.”
The two continued bickering, Naito throwing his hands up as he gave up trying to control them.   It was a losing battle and had been as long as he had known them.   That was how their relationship worked and who was he to judge?

I’ve Made a Mistake (Ch.2)
still here everyone! The second chapter. We did not forget about y’all or this life-giving college AU. Hope you like it! @tokugawalady and I are, as always, so happy that anyone indulges us and reads this. <3
Chapter One
I’ll go on ahead and tag some people I know read the first one. @frywen-babbles
@jemchew @held-hostage-and-happy @singokumaiden @cottonballwithmustache
“I expect you to water the plants and to feed Ichigo daily.” Ieyasu’s deceptively sweet voice had more than faded away, leaving a sharp tone that kept MC on edge. “Don’t go poking your noise around in places you don’t belong.” MC nodded, biting her lip thoughtfully. Right, she could do that.
“If you do that, you should stay alive just fine, at least in theory.” He was sneering at her and suddenly she remembered the look of terror that had been on Toramatsu’s face when he had been talking to her.
Yeah she was screwed.
But hell, it was a nice apartment. Spacious, two bedrooms, two bathrooms. A decent kitchen and living room space. Her room even had a walk in closet! It was a dream for her rent price. The only drawback was her new roommate.
She shivered thinking about the cramped studio apartment she had been kicked out of not twenty-four hours ago.
If living here meant participating in some illegal activities and keeping plants and pets alive, she figured she could do it.
“Of course I expect you to be clean and to be quiet. I’m sure that even someone of your mental capacity could realize that we can’t have people poking their noses around here.” MC nodded, idly jotting his rules down onto a notepad. She’d heard tales of his capacity for cruelty and was doing her best to avoid confrontation.
Not to mention she felt like if she drew too much attention to herself the cops would be here at the drop of a hat.
MC would not do well in jail.
“Anything else?” She asked, trailing her eyes up his form, resting them on his angelic face. How could someone so physically perfect have such a shit attitude?
“You may not invite people over. The nature of my work demands some degree of secrecy. Which to dumb down for you, means you can’t just have all of your friends over.” You had to resist the urge to roll your eyes.
“Yes sir.”
“That is all I have for now, don’t expect it to be the end. Someone like you is bound to break some rule.”  He turned on his heels, leaving you to admire his form.
You took a deep breath.
Time to unpack.
“MC, I really think you should at least let me check out the place I mean, you are a young single woman and he-“
“Inuchiyo, I appreciate your concern but you are not coming over. I have already moved all of my stuff in. I have already met Ieyasu. Its fine. I am fine.” MC kept her voice calm. She had been preparing for this.
“This witless manju is going to get herself killed. “a voice from across the room piped up. MC inwardly groaned. Mitsunari was never lacking in opinions. “I’ve never met a more aggravating base-born whore’s son than Tokugawa.” He was glaring daggers at both you and Inuchiyo. “Also, this is a damn library, show some respect and shut up.” His quiet hiss had you turning away. She couldn’t catch a break today.
“Look MC, all I’m saying is that you have options”
“Tokugawa isn’t a demon” MC huffed, crossing her arms. “I’m an adult, I can handle this. If I can’t handle it, I will leave. As adults are wont to do.” She grabbed her books, shoving them in her bag. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I actually have to study. “ She turned, stomping off.
Between Ieyasu and Inuchiyo she was going to end up living on the streets.
No, not today. She was more than willing to sacrifice her pride for that plush bed and lack of creepy manager.
The apartment complex was pretty empty when she got back. It was easier to study in the quiet of her new room than to try to justify herself to her friends. When she went to put her key in the door a voice stopped her.
“Hey are you sure you have the right place?” MC froze, stealing a glance over your shoulder. A tall, friendly looking man stood behind her with teal eyes as bright as a sunshine-filled day.
“Oh…U-Uh yeah. I am.” She turned to face him, offering out her hand. “I’m MC, a new tenant here.”
“Sanada Yukimura, I’m your upstairs neighbor.” He blushed as soon as her hand touched his. Endearing.
“Nice to meet you Yukimura!” She smiled, a bit forced. MC did not need any extra or outside attention at this point…she just needed to get inside.
“You’re staying here, at this place? I thought they already had two tenants?” He was still looking at you with that concerned face. Why?
MC had a feeling she knew why. She had a feeling that the reason behind his concerned face was a certain blonde haired man that she was now living with.
“Yeah, one of them moved out, so um, now I am here.” She gestured at the door.
“Oh, so you and Toramatsu?” The boy was blushing again, clearing getting the wrong idea.
“Er…no. Toramatsu’s moved out. I’m staying with Ieyasu.” The blush faded quickly on Yukimura’s face, replaced with a determined look.
“Are you sure about that?
“Positive.”  MC’s tone was growing more irritable by the moment.  She did not have the time…
“Just be careful, if you need me I’m upstairs.” Yukimura grabbed her arm, holding MC’s eyes with his own. “Seriously. Any time, I’ll come help.”
“T-Thanks?” She gently tugged her arm away and turned back to the door. “Really I appreciate it. I’ll see you around, okay?” MC fiddled with the keys as she heard him walk away. Once she was sure he had left, she opened the door, sliding inside.
“This is all too much.” She mumbled to herself before looking around. “Better do my chores so I don’t get kicked out.”
The plants came with strict instructions on water amounts, MC couldn’t help but laugh at the details.
Ieyasu was definitely a pharmacy major. His attention to detail and numerics was evident.
Once that was done she turned her attentions to the rabbit.
Ichigo was a pretty bunny. Soft and brown. She chirruped when MC went to feed her the fresh veggies Ieyasu had designated.
“He really does spoil you huh?” MC trailed a finger across her soft fur, rewarded with a very pleased bunny.
Ichigo wasn’t scary at all.
“I wonder why everyone is so afraid of you, hmm? You’re a sweet little thing.”
Elsewhere in the town, Toramatsu woke up from a nap in a cold sweat, a nightmare of that damned rabbit playing in his head over and over again.
He turned over, covering his face with a pillow. Maybe one day he could rest.
That day just wasn’t today.
After doing her chores, MC set about to making dinner. Tempura and noodles. Something easy. She made sure to make extra for Ieyasu. Maybe he’d want food?
By the time he got back to the apartment she had cleaned and done most everything he had asked her to do.
And she was tired.
But she’d done it.
He stepped into the kitchen, barely sending a glance her way, grabbing a container of lettuce from the fridge.
“U-um.” MC stuttered only briefly. “I made dinner, if you want some.” He paused, a frown on his face.
“This filth is what you call dinner?” He pointed at the plate she had made for him. “I wouldn’t eat that slop if they were paying me to. What do I look like, some unhealthy stereotype like your friends?” Whatever she had done had really set him off because he wasn’t close to done. “I’m trying to actually live past 30,  in order to do that I decided not to indulge in that unhealthy nonsense are trying to pass off as food.”
Oh jeez.
MC shook her head, trying to hide the dejected look on her face as he continued to fuss. He went so far as to throw her leftovers away. No no. MC chanted in her mind, she was strong. She was not affected by this childish behavior.
He must just be hungry. That was why he was angry all the time, he didn’t have the right vitamins.
She looked away from him, standing and stepping out of the room, failing to notice the surprise on his face as she walked out.
She just needed to sleep.
“Toramatsu,” MC’s singsong voice was unnerving on the other end of the phone. Toramatsu sighed. He had been waiting for this call. In the background the sound of Yasamusa’s yelling drowned out most of the fear that he had of MC. It wasn’t like he had upgraded by moving out of his apartment.
“Yes?”
“I just want you to know, that I understand why you did what you did.” Still sickly sweet. He wondered if she had taken lessons from Ieyasu in the last three days.
“O-Okay.”
“But I’ll remember.”
And then she hung up.
