i think one thing that’s funny about ajin (aside from everything about it) is that if you only know about it from the anime or general cultural osmosis you think that kai is gonna be a secondary protagonist and our yaoi bait but when you read the manga it’s like no he���s. gone. for dozens of chapters. and then they just drop this other guy who looks kinda like kai if you squint into the narrative and he is Always there and fills that role instead. sorry guys the childhood friend is gone here is this kinda stupid random construction worker instead have fun

Ajin Week 2024 Day 4: Gluttony

I know they had to lay low after beaching but the picture of two thoroughly damp teens scarfing down fastfood while briefly forgetting the urge to strangle each other was too funny not to draw

Ajin Week 2024 Day 1: Head/Brain

(＠´ー`)ﾉﾞOne of my favourite pieces i've done for our morally conflicted boi Kei!

Even after the series finished, i released that this scene stuck with me a lot- u get to see how malicious Kei can be. Since the story of Ajin split between Authors from Tsuina Miura (Vol 1) to Gamon Sakurai (Vol 2-17), i get the impression that it's possible the personality idea of Nagai could have been toned down or atleast altered. I used to think that Nagai's interactions with the other characters in Vol 2 and ESPECIALLY 3 was because he would put up a fake appearance amongst adults since the way he behaved in vol 1 to vol 3 felt really different-

BUT ITS JUST A FEELING I COULD JUST BE OVERTHINKING (￣ ￣|||)

sharing this older piece as my contribution to ajin week! this was a project for art school where we were tasked with recreating a famous painting in the style/process of another artist. I chose sakurai gamon. the lineart was done traditionally on a piece of illustration board, with screentones added digitally.
