🦈, hey babes. hmm lol it depends! i kinda fell into it, i was actually planning to be a bio major and become a physiatrist or anesthesiologist (which i probably would have done if i realized i had ADHD and dyslexia sooner but didnt know why i was horrible at math not being able to do basic calculations without errors even if i knew and understood the formulas plus couldnt focus lol)

but i took a media class and wanted to be a journalist, then i realized journalism wasnt for me and wanted to do PR, but when i graduated there wasnt alot of PR firms in my city so I had to do advertising/marketing and ive been in there ever since. in hindsight, i wish i was a software engineer. then i wouldnt have to talk to people all day jshskdfjhskdf. i like advertising and marketing because its creative but still apart of business, it does include psychological elements to appeal to your customers (different colors, numbers, etc evoke certain emotional responses). but if you like socializing and are creative but still wanna be in business ad/marketing is a good career. i like socializing but i have a limit as im an introvert so especially earlier in my career i was exhausted everyday afterwork lol.

but theres alot of good perks and companies usually never over hire in marketing so when layoffs come around you are always safe *knock on wood* as unless the company is fr going under for good they are always going to need people strategizing on how to get money through the door.

but unless you truly do love people, work in-house marketing, not an agency. agency life is NOT for the weak on unsocial, you WILL be going out nightly to dinners and happy hours with your clients and have weird ass hours (but i was on set and filmed nationally aired commercials and met a handful of influencers/celebs and had a really awkward encounter with anderson cooper at the this super exclusive gym my company paid for so we could take clients fkjhfkwdjhks).

My advice: take a bit of everything, computer science, media, an actual physical science, history, art, etc and see what you like doing best. I SUCK at numbers due to my dyslexia but I had an amazing accounting teacher in grad school who if I had taken him in undergrad I definitely would have become an accountant, accounting doesnt seem glamorous but is actually really interesting cause you always gonna have the tea on if your company is scamming/embellezelling, etc, khdsjcjksdhckjd. you never know what will interest you so for your general requirements, take everything!
