On a different note: the paperwork finally came in for the new collection I talked about the other week — between a pilot and an Air Force nurse. We're potentially waiting on a photo album, and I've got a bigger collection that I'm currently working on but honestly, it's always nice to unfold letters as a break from working on something more thought-intensive like a catalog record.

There are about 300 letters, organized chronologically by the couple's daughter, plus some extra materials like an oral history and some photographs. I've had the experience a few times now, but there's a very particular place in my heart that lights up when I see a bundle of striped airmail envelopes held together by string or ribbon.

These things — this correspondence, her parents' wedding photograph, a handwritten recollection written by her father about his experiences piloting a B-24 and of meeting and marrying her mother — I feel very lucky and very honored that families trust us with their most precious, priceless things.

So, I've been playing phasmophobia with a friend of mine, and "playing" is a loose term really. My controls do not work well since I don't even OWN a computer mouse (and the live ones object to being plugged in), so I'm mostly good for dying if I go into the houses much.

But what I AM good at is standing outside of the house fetching items and throwing them over the threshold for her so she doesn't have to walk to the truck. I'm also good at monitoring things inside the truck, and watching the door to alert her when the ghost is hunting if she's where she can't tell, as well as when it's over so she can come out. I can also look up stuff online if we have questions, without her having to stop paying attention to the dangerous ghosts.

And, importantly, if we load the game under my name, it doesn't matter if she dies. She doesn't lose any items, because it's my load. We can still make a guess and go home safely.

She's taken, lately, to finding random objects to hand back to me. I take screen shots when she does this, and name them things that seem logical at 10pm in the dark, but by the light of day are less so when I don't remember putting them there. These are titled "Potato Face" and "Dogframe" respectively.

I don't think Kaido's mom is the devil incarnate or anything, objectively she's very concerned about her children's futures and wants them to have the best chances possible, which is fair considering how tough getting into a good university is in Japan.

On the other hand, being like "I'm worried about this specific kid of mine because he's a way slower learner than his siblings, how do I make him be good like your kid?" is a huge punch to the gut when it comes to knowing your parent thinks that way about you.

Also, not wanting your kid to associate with anybody who isn't skillful or talented is... not great either. Like Shun struggles socially in the first place and that kind of thing is NOT doing him any favors since he evidently didn't have friends at all before Saiki and Nendo, and he expected that she wouldn't approve of them.

Apparently, Jerrica withheld her pregnancy from all of her siblings, except Dayana. She fell out with Marguerite a while back and they have a difficult family dynamic, Trace has been busy with work (and traveling) plus he doesn't have the energy to hear them bicker whenever they link up, so that just leaves Dayana. Now Day's been pretty distant herself (but they catch up via chatty family call a few times a month).

This pregnancy was unexpected and not ideal, since Pierre was briefly separated from his wife during the time she conceived (but now him and his wife are back together)😩 That's going to be an interesting conversation for him to have with his wife seeing that they're finally seeing eye to eye again. To add onto the chaos, their teenage twins (yes, you read that correctly; Jerrica and Pierre have another set of twins [teenagers] because they got pregnant while in high school) are preparing to start their first year of high school. GIRL! The Webbers are so dysfunctional, chaotic, and messy (Trace is my only hope at this point!); all of them damn near have the difficult family dynamic with one another and they can't seem to have a family get together without them fussin & shit.

They weren't able to throw her a baby shower, so they'll have to wait until after the babies are born for all that. Which doesn't bother J at all because she really didn't want one anyway. All these damn babies in this save bout to drive me up a wall...I still need to age up Mekhi & Ashanti's baby, Mercedes needs her pregnancy unpaused, Aura needs to take a pregnancy test, and Monet needs to be released from the vice grip Melo has her coochie in! LAWD!

My mom said she doesn't believe I've "ever had a panic attack before" and then said something like "I think what you get are 'anger attacks', not 'panic attacks'" ???? and when I brought up the time I was hospitalized for intense/debilitating panic attacks she said it was because I was "drinking energy drinks" which I wasn't! :'))))
