ngl i dont like complaining but i’m a bit upset about how quickly we jumped over from tory’s mom dying to… keenry relationship drama. im seriously peeved about how many people are boiling tory and robby’s characters down to being romantic partners, and i don’t think the writers understand how leaning so heavily on keenry weakens both the individual journeys robby and tory go on — robby with his father/role as miyagi do’s captain/brotherhood with miguel/running in 2nd place, and tory with her mother/role as ck’s captain/relationship with kreese/betrayal of her friends. they CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT be each other’s personal saviors; they HAVE TO SAVE THEMSELVES.

Cobra Kai Kiaz moments that I noticed in season 6 part 2 : im a little sleepy now so this list may be updated and quoted later but anyways you have been warned that this is a spoiler post

Within the first five minutes Miguel clearly wanted to share a room with Robby. Not to mention that look he gave him when he came out of the shower later on. 🤭🌚

Miguel notices Robby leaving the hotel room, paying special attention to him- as if he wasn’t already when he kept calling Robby’s name as the bet was being made with Kwon beforehand.

Miguel “shows how it’s done” in the tournament but really I think it was to impress Robby and motivate him, not to try and show he’s “better” then Robby- especially with that leadership pep talk he gave him which is a whole other moment that proves my point- “you not being a leader is bullshit”

Miguel STOOD UP TO JOHNNY LIKE IN SEASON THREE! I NEEDED MORE OF THAT! “You’ll probably find a way to make things worse at the hospital too. Just how you couldn’t walk to the hospital when Robby was born, huh? No wonder Robby’s so messed up.” Something along those lines

Miguel immediately asking Robby what was going on when he was gone, I just wanted them to kiss right there as keenry seemed to be over (even if it was sad miscommunication) and I think they could have if Miguel had the wrong idea with axel. But ofc I loved he believed Sam but axel lowkey seems psycho lol it was giving Yandere but ANYWAY I did ship saxel at the beach when I saw them! Enough yapping now

Miguel’s voice echoing in Robby’s head before he tapped Kenny in saying “lead and we’ll follow” was so gosh darn beautiful and romantic, for the first time we see Miggy be a positive light in Robby’s head!

At the brawl they end up feeling each others backs and turn around and nod before kicking ass together! 🥺🥹

Miguel called the binary brothers (or boyfriends) his brothers and NOT Robby- but agreed they were all family hehe. Robby’s just not his ‘brother’. 🌚

I don’t know why, but that little conversation “maybe you should take your own advice” “you got something to say?” “I’ve already said it” in the locker room hit hard- I got the sense Miguel was jealous of Tory but also really wanted Robby to succeed and was worried all at once. Robby definitely noticed and took every word Miguel said to heart and that’s why he has a conflicted look on his face when Miguel leaves also mad at Johnny. Just AGH I love them

CK S6 Part 1 Spoilers

I'M SO FUCKING PISSED.

ok, Keenry is still the best couple? Yes

But it was so out of character for him not go console her, like I'm sorry I would care more about my girlfriend than getting a headband. Other than that, he and Tory have probably the best set ups in this part.

I'm really pissed at Robby, but I do think that in part 2 maybe their promise will come back up, and they might support each other even in different dojos (Hard to believe, but it would be the best outcome) I also hope we finally see him going after Tory this time, S5 was only her pining, now is his turn

Tory Nichols they could never make hate you. You wanna fight in CK? go queen. I get why she's doing it, it's not healthy, will probably end bad for her again, but I do hope her going back has SOME payoff, please don't let her go back just to lose to Sam again. I'm thinking either her or Robby will be injured in the tournament, and I have seen theories she will jump back to MF but I don't know (and now I'm pretty sure Sam will win, and honestly I'll just have to make my peace with that).

Btw that flashback she had? ALL PAIN. I was crying. Also really sad no Brandon and that the first time we saw her mom she was dead. Can't she get a break? Like we know she's not the writers favorite, but come on?? You really gave her ALL a teenager shouldn't have to deal with in one episode.

Now hm... Why is Kwon so interesting? Can I have more of him? Why is he so angry with the world? is his family shitty? What happened for him to become like this? I need answers. (Manifesting him and Tory developing an ACTUAL friendship, I don't usually win but I hope I get this) (Also, three fucking revolutions in that move. THREE. How exactly is he going to lose? I don't know, but if the world didn't revolve around Miyagi Fang, my bets were on him to win)

Kreese... Holy fuck you know? Like wow, hallucination 10/10 loved that scene. And sure, it is for selfish reasons, but I still love that he felt something was missing without Tory. (Love this fucked up dynamic so fucking much)

How could they possibly make Chozen boring after episode 1? Why didn't we have more of him training students? One on one? I FUCKING WANTED HIM AND TORY TO HAVE A BOND.

Honestly Daniel, Johnny they could never make me like you, but not at least I'm more indifferent than disliking altogether. (I like Johnny a bit more than Daniel, not sure why)

Devon... Devon... I get why she did it, but come on? I really wanted Kenny to go. Also, the less Anthony in my screen the better, just let Kenny and Devon being friends and I'm good.

Sam and Miguel I have NEVER been more indifferent to your characters, arcs and whatever. How could they make them SO boring? I was almost skipping their scenes.

edit: Forgot to mention I did enjoy Sam and Tory dynamic an how they got over their shit, but now all is back to hell thank you Kreese.

Now, what do you want to happen in s6 of cobra kai?

My wants and theories are basically the same i said it in the previous ask but if i have to say something specific that i want it’ll be more details on Tory’s home life. Now that Keenry is back together i hope they kinda dive into her story cause i feel like Robby will want to be involved with it and help her with things. We saw Tory’s aunt being an absolute bitch stealing their money and Tory saying she’ll take custody of her brother when she’s 18 next year so that’s a story they should continue telling. I wanna see Robby taking care of Tory and her brother like it’s his own family. I wanna see more of her little brother and wanna see him bonding with Robby 🥺

I'm begging the Cobra Kai writers to give us the fluffiest, corniest, most adorable and insufferably cute Keenry moments in s6!

they can still have badass moments, together and on their own, but take one look at them and tell me they don't deserve to just be happily in love for a moment (or a season)!

I want them flirting while sparring (like it was implied in that one scene in 4x10)!

I want them being protective over each other!

I want them calming each other down in stressful moments!

I want them to always be communicating after everything that happened between them!

I want them having lots of inner jokes (like probation or how easily they could kick each other's asses If they wanted to)!

I want Robby always complimenting Tory on something, both because he knows it gets her flustered and because he knows she deserves to know she's incredible (and her only response being "shut up, idiot" as she turns her head to keep him from seeing her blush)!

I want Tory being incredibly sweet and gentle with him in a way no one has seen her be before and everyone else be like ???? while Robby is just like "she's always been like that, you just haven't got to know her too well yet" while smiling at her!

I want them always finding a way to connect to each other whenever they are in the same room together, let that be a kiss, a hug, them holding hands, smiling at each other or just having a lot of eye contact because they can get each other just by looking at one another!!!

I want Robby calling Tory "Tor" but also pet names like "honey" and "my love" and Tory, not being a very pet-name kind of person, being the only one who can call him "Robs"!

I want their fucking "I love you" moment to either be something huge and breathtaking because they are each finally in relationship with someone that loves them for them and doesn't have eyes for anybody else but them, or just be the simplest, most natural thing in the world that just comes out at the right time because yes, they're in love, isn't that common knowledge by now? (even though they do get a little emotional with it still, because it is a big deal for both characters, knowing their relationship history, whether they like it or not)!

I want them having many family moments with Kenny and Devon and actually act like they're their parents ("these kids are gonna give me gray hair soon" "as long as you don't start a karate business to try and take over the world, I think that’s not too bad, Tor" "damn, that was exactly what I was thinking of doing" "naturally")!

I want Johnny annoying the living shit out of Tory in regards of her relationship with his son just to mess with her and Robby being like "holy shit, my girlfriend might murder my dad, who I just made up with" but she's actually only a bit annoyed and overall happy that she gets to have these interactions!

I want a fucking double date, alright? A double date that ends well and without any fights! While I don't really ship Samguel, I don't dislike them either and would love If the four of them could have a few hours to themselves without any jealousy, any insults and having them just be in love and happy their rivalries are mostly over (but pls don't let it be in Golf 'N Stuff! I love that place and I think it would be the perfect set-up for a double date with these four, but it's been overused and I'm kind of tired of it)!

I want to see Robby spending time at Tory's house and spending time with her brother, who loves him very much so, and maybe her mother!

I want the roller-skating/skateboarding date I talked about after s4 dropped (If you were here by then, you know what I'm talking about)!

I want them being domestic together! Like, have a scene where Tory wakes up without anyone by her side in bed and she gets a dreadful feeling that Robby just up and left, but then she smells something good coming from the kitchen and when she goes over there, she sees Robby in a cute little apron someone gave her as a gift (which she has barely even used), making them and Brandon breakfast! And then she has to go to work and he has to go to the dojo earlier but neither of them want to go so they just clinge to each other a little longer before parting! And to add the cherry on top of the cake, have a scene in which he gets to Tory's house before her and gets in (because he obviously has the keys), and when she gets home after work and after picking up her brother in school, she immediately says "honey, I'm home" as a joke and because she knows he would already be there. And he is! He is either on the couch, relentlessly scrolling through his phone, or talking to Tory's mom to spend more time with her and get a few good stories from his girlfriend's childhood, or cooking them all dinner!

I want a whole fucking fanfic of Keenry in s6! Is that too much to ask for?

Broke: Keenry is "pair the spares"

Woke: Keenry organically developed because of Robby and Tory's shared background/family experiences/the actors having great chemistry and the writers just lucked out

Bespoke: Keenry is the symbolic representation of the broken relationship of John Kreese/Johnny Lawrence and legacy of Cobra Kai karate reconciled and redeemed through the union of Johnny's son and the one student Kreese was actually able to apply the lessons he learned from his failed mentorship of Johnny to in a healthy way and is therefore thematically more important to the overall mythos of the show than Samguel

I think Keenry is one of the romance plot that actually enriched their character development, with the story continues to make them reconnect to the good side (Tory with Amanda as a good parental figure, and Robby finally starting to reconcile with Johnny), they also have a good partner to support each other and make each other happy, just like Hawk and Moon. We don’t see Tory and Robby smile very often throughout the whole season of 3&4, but when we do, we see that they’re usually happy with each other. Loyal is a very important part that I think Keenry value in this whole teen drama, no matter what others say whether Miguel and Sam were drunk or not, they did kiss each other and they were not being apologetic to their respective partners on this matter. Surely Robby and Tory were at fault for other things that came with it, but they were loyal to both Sam and Miguel. So I doubt that both of them will come back to their exes especially after everything in this season. I mean, trust is hard enough for teenagers like Tory and Robby already (with Tory’s constant insecurity based on her family situation, remember how much she wanted to prove to herself that she’s best at something, and Robby’s abandonment issue with Johnny), but rebuild that kind of trust to their exes who cheated on them? I just don’t see it. It will feel so out of character if they actually make Tory&Miguel and Robby&Sam a thing again.

Good thing is that the show have multiple creators and screen writers so that they can figure out together on how they want the plot to continue, but they also need to consider audiences’ and fans’ reaction (since we are the consumer for their product). I believe as of romantic subplot so far, keenry has received pretty good feedbacks.

The thing I’m worried about right now is that we did see a photo of Johnny and Robby wearing FBI shirt together. It might be them going to find Miguel together in New Mexico (which I have some doubt of, since Johnny finally had a good moment with his son, but now he’s going to find his “adopted son” with his actual son? I’m not sure how Robby will react to this since in season 3 they were arguing about how Johnny cares more about Miguel than his own son, and the whole reason Robby joins the dark side is because of Johnny’s attention to Miguel). It could also be them trying to confront Kreese in jail and make some plan to take down Terry, but it feels like next season will focus on redemption and make Terry the ultimate antagonist of the show. Tory might have more screen time with Amanda and Sam, showing how conflicted she will be especially after witnessing the whole bribery scene. Robby will likely to have more screen time with Johnny, which hopefully brings more closeness for the two characters. But with this being said, I’m not sure if they will show more interaction between Robby and Tory since they both will be busy with their own matter next season. It’ll be kinda disappointing, but I do wanna see how they showcase their trailer for the new season tho

The things I love about Keenry:

Robby’s gentle “no hard feelings” and “just part of the lesson” shows that he is still the soft sweet boi🥺 I also noticed that when he trains the ck kids, he use very soft tone towards Tory when he says “show me wax on wax off”, which is a bit surprising to me since it’s a different type of voice compared to his usual training tone. I think ever since their face off from the last season, Robby started to pay more attention to and care for Tory

But it is so clear that Robby LOVES teasing Tory especially when they’re demonstrating a battle together, and he secretly loves Tory’s angry response

Just look at them training and fighting together (Tory is such a hot top) and Robby’s facial expressions when he’s “defeated”😩gosh I wish I can see more of them flirt fight next season!!!

Also just personal opinion:

I started the series bc I love William Zabka, I loved Johnny sm (partially because of Barney from HIMYM too if you get it lol). I’m almost done with this series because of all the teen drama and I really can’t stand Sam, but Eli (Hawk), keenry, Kreese and Terry Silver made me stay with the series. Sometimes the villains are so interesting and the characters are troublesome to the point you just absolutely freaking love them.

Honestly though, if Robby and Tory ever break up or have any more love square bullshit come between them, then I’m done with the series👋

because tory has so much potential beyond her romantic relationship — in the words of daniel himself, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! HER MOTHER JUST DIED!!! i’m grateful to the bare minimum of the story not pushing her into some weird thing with kwon, but so many familial dynamics could’ve been explored in tory’s headspace right now. for a season that keenries are claiming to be centered around tory and robby, it’s centered around them… in the most uninteresting and offensive ways possible.

this new season brushes very lightly on topics i would’ve loved to see a deeper take on. the connection between kreese and tory; how he puts himself in her shoes and understands what it’s like to lose a mother. tory and the cobras, like yoon and kwon; how she fits into their dynamic and shakes things up, the differences in culture between her and the distance they have from their own families, and how they can support her. (yoon really interests me, especially with that little scene on the high platform elimination tournaments.) da-eun and tory could’ve been really interesting beyond being reduced to their male love interest plots with robby and chozen; they hit such a nail in the head with the “is it worth it to win” conversation about proving a parental figure right, and i wish they’d gone down that route and provided tory with a maternal guiding hand with kim if they were going to have her here.

shrug. it’s all a lot of shrugs, and i won’t say anything about robby that people haven’t said already. leave it up to the fic writers to save us from this saw trap, i suppose. :P

What do you expect to happen in cobra kai s6?

I feel like the whole season is gonna be a build up for Sekai Taikai but in the middle i expect ofc the birth of Johnny and Carmen’s baby and probably their wedding before it. I told this in my Cobra Kai gc that i feel like Keenry would prepare a surprise dance for their wedding maybe something Time Of My Life scene from Dirty Dancing cause 1. 80s and 2. Patrick Swayze 🤣 I honestly expect a new Halloween and a Christmas episode (i think we all EARNED IT) i want to see everyone just being a family and some Samtory friendship bonding and ofc Kiaz being brothers. I wanna see Daniel, Johnny and Chozen having a joint dojo (it’s probably gonna be named White Claw cause White = Miyagi Do and Claw = Eagle Fang). 3 of them will probably training our faves together and we’ll probably get the ultimate team up this season. I’m expecting Kim Da-Eun to keep being our big Karate villain at the tournament and we’ll probably get some new mini villains who are her students. Idk what Kreese is planning that’s just a real mystery for all of us. I’m just so excited!

Keenry obviously. I like samiguel but i liked samrobby more they were really cute. I love the dynamic between Sam and Tory that is blooming right now so is Robby and Miguel. I love how Robby and Hawk went from being rivals and opponents to new best friends that hug and party together. I always loved Hawk - Demetri - Miguel friendship. I also love Daniel - Johnny - Chozen - Mike friendship group and Carmen with Amanda 🥹 Idk there’s a lot of dynamics to love 💙
