do you think Jones and the Dutchman crew celebrate cook's death anniversary every year?
they seam like the kinds of fellas to happily get sloshed over that. yearly "fuck yeah the people of Kealakekua Bay killed that bitch" day
(also happy cook deathiversary!!)
I think they use any and every opportunity to get sloshed tbh and with how long they've been alive, they have at least 1 occasion per week to bring up to justify it to the captain 😭
also I cant believe I'm just realizing this but Cook's first ship was the HMS Endeavour and I feel that it's not a coincidence that the screenwriters chose to name Beckett's ship that and then blow it up. top notch

I went snorkeling and kayaking in Kealakekua Bay!!!! It’s AMAZING there!
You have to paddle out a little ways to get to the designated not wavy, okay to snorkel in water, but it is worth it. I saw lots of cool fish there:
Mostly yellow tangs, but there were also lots of butterflyfish, parrotfish, and surgeonfish. I even saw a moray eel! In addition to the fish, there were also lots of sea urchins. I was careful not to touch them!
After I had my fill of swimming, it was time to head back. But the wildlife watching didn’t stop there! I saw a whole colony of white-tailed tropicbirds near the cliffs, and one frigate bird. But the best part was seeing a pod of spinner dolphins! They swam right near my family and I, and demonstrated their aquatic acrobatic skills. One of them was even carrying a piece of seaweed or something, presumably as a toy.
The marine biology nerd in me was beyond excited to see all these animals. Half the time I was reciting fun facts I’d learned from Octonauts and my encyclopedias, and the rest of the time I was just going: 😮
Look at them!!!! Spinner dolphins!!! Fascinating!!!!!!

Rules: Tag 10 People You Want To Know Better
Thank you, @somebird and @pursuitseternal for tagging me!
Relationship status: long-term partner.
Favorite color: blue, or green. It sloshes back and forth.
Song stuck in my head: Hold onto my fur by the Kiffness
Last song I listened to: “You Know You’re Right” by Nirvana
Three favorite foods: saag paneer, vegetable korma, bengan bharta
Last thing I googled: map of Middle Earth
Dream trip: anywhere with a tropical white sand beach and great snorkeling. My favorite snorkeling spot is Kealakekua Bay on the island of Hawaii. My favorite white sand beach is Ala Moana on the island of Oahu. If only I could teleport back and forth between the two, while teleport-commuting to either from someplace I can afford to live.

Quiero asustar a mis amantes,
que se sienten frente a mí
y suspiren.
1. tufuga: tatuador tradicional samoano
Oye James,
sí, tú,
con peluca blanca
en ese gran Endeavour (1)
navegando el agua, azul, azul,
como un gran imbécil
JÓDETE, PERRA.
James,
escuché que alguien
metió un cuchillo
directo en el hueco entre
tus costillas blancas
en la bahía de Kealakekua (2).
Voy a ir allí
a celebrar un gran Makahiki luau (3)
cocinar un cerdo blanco
y dárselo de comer a los perros
y JODERTE, PERRA.
Oye James,
somos nosotros.
Estos días
conducimos
camionetas
buscándote
o a hombres blancos como tú
que podrían ser ladrones
o violadores
o secuestradores
o asesinos
sí, o cualquiera de tus descendientes
o cualquiera de tus encarnaciones
porque ¿sabes qué,
perra?
Vamos a JODERTE.
Esta noche, James,
soy yo
Lani, Danielle
y un coche lleno de chicas morenas
te encontraremos
en la esquina
de la comisaría de Justicia.
Agarraste a otra mujer
con una llave de cabeza
y yo tengo el cuchillo de caza
cuchillo de caza de cerdos
en mi puño
y vamos por ti
navegando por ahí
en tu Resolución (4)
tu Amistad (5)
tu Descubrimiento (6)
y tu jodido Amorlibre (7).
Vigila tus costillas, James
porque, voy a venir con
Kalaniōpu'u (8)
Kānekapōlei (9)
Kana'ina (10)
Keawe'ōpala (11)
Kūka'ilimoku (12)
que es un dios
y Nua'a (13)
que es un rey con cuchillo.
Y entonces
James,
luego
vamos a
JÓDER
TE.
PARA.
SIEMPRE
PERRA.

From Tusiata Avia's 2021 book The Savage Coloniser, "250th Anniversary of James Cook's Arrival in New Zealand"
Hey James,
yeah, you
in the white wig
in that big Endeavour
sailing the blue, blue water
like a big arsehole
FUCK YOU, BITCH.
James,
I heard someone
shoved a knife
right up
into the gap between
your white ribs
at Kealakekua Bay.
I’m gonna go there
make a big Makahiki luau
cook a white pig
feed it to the dogs
and FUCK YOU UP, BITCH.
Hey James,
it’s us.
These days
we’re driving round
in SUVs
looking for ya
or white men like you
who might be thieves
or rapists
or kidnappers
or murderers
yeah, or any of your descendants
or any of your incarnations
cos, you know
ay, bitch?
We’re gonna FUCK YOU UP.
Tonight, James,
it’s me
Lani, Danielle
and a car full of brown girls
we find you
on the corner
of the Justice Precinct.
You’ve got another woman
in a headlock
and I’ve got my father’s
pig-hunting knife
in my fist
and we’re coming to get you
sailing round
in your Resolution
your Friendship
your Discovery
and your fucking Freelove.
Watch your ribs, James
cos, I’m coming with
Kalaniōpu‘u
Kānekapōlei
Kana‘ina
Keawe‘ōpala
Kūka‘ilimoku
who is a god
and Nua‘a
who is king with a knife.
And then
James,
then
we’re gonna
FUCK.
YOU.
UP.
FOR.
GOOD.
BITCH.

[Photo ID: I'm not sure where the first image is from because reverse image search isn't helping but it's one of the indigenous people of Mactan (one of the islands of the Philippines), possibly Lapulapu, Datu of Mactan, mostly naked staring down Ferdinand Magellan (in armour cowering in the water) with a giant sword about to kill him during the Battle of Mactan. In the background are more Spanish soldiers getting off a boat with guns ready to fight. In addition behind Lapulapu are more Macatans one of whom has another Spaniard soldier tied up and they are in front of a burning building. The image has "Fuck Magellan" in all caps over it.
The second photo is "The Death of Captain James Cook, 14 February 1779" by Johan Zoffany. Cook had attempted to kidnap the Hawaiian chief (aliʻi nui) Kalaniʻōpuʻu, "they were confronted by a crowd of Hawaiians at Kealakekua Bay seeking to rescue their hostage. The ensuing battle killed Cook and several Royal Marines, as well as several Hawaiians. Kalaniʻōpuʻu survived the exchange." The painting shows a very chaotic battle between the native Hawaiians and the British Royal Navy. "Fuck James Cook" is written in all caps over this painting.
The third image is Spaniards Enslaving the Indians, a book Illustration from Indian Horrors or Massacres of the Red Men, by Henry Davenport Northrop, 1891. This image shows Spanish conquistadors shackling and enslaving Native Americans. "Fuck Christopher Columbus" is written in all caps over the image.
The last image is The Storming of the Teocalli by Cortez and His Troops, an oil-on-canvas painting by Emanuel Leutze. This painting shows Cortez and his men attacking the Aztecs on the Huey Teocalli (Great Temple)/Templo Major (Main Temple) that was destroyed by the Spanish in 1521 and was replaced by the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral. A teocalli is a pyramid surrounded by a temple. The painting has "Fuck Hernan Cortez" in all caps on it.
