Nejire Hado/Nejire Chan (canon character) - F, “Wave Motion”, grants the user the ability to convert her vitality into energy and release it in the form of exceptionally powerful spiral shockwaves, can fly*

Yuyu Haya/Diana (canon character) - F, “Electric Arrow”  grants the user the ability to create a bow and arrows from electricity gathered from the air around her. She gets very staticky on dry days.

Kazue Yokota/Illusionist - F, “Light Illusion” grants the user the power to generate and manipulate small to moderate sized illusions. Requires concentration.

Yōta Hidaka/Ricochet - M, “Kinetics” The power to store kinetic energy after being hit. Limit to how much he can store before it has to be released. (Toga stabs this one)

Naomi Ikeda/Lady Luck - F, “Luck” grants the user the ability to shift probability in their favor. They can’t do anything huge like survive jumping without a parachute, but quarter machines are theirs to toy with.

Yoshio Yamaguchi/Shield Hero - M, “Shield” grants the user the ability to create shields of various sizes and types.

Haruna Shinkawa/Soulsword - F, “Demon Weapon” grants the user the ability to shapeshift into a sword. Haruna specifically changes into a European style sword and is a fan of Arthurian Legends.

Juro Nishimura/Morph - M, “Body Builder” grants the user the ability to temporarily change his body to mimic any construction-style substance he touches (ex: concrete, steel, wood). Changes can last for up to an hour, but the more he changes, the faster he runs out of energy and the less time he has for each morph.

Hideyoshi Kanda/Roostertail - M, “Chicken” grants the user the ability to transform into a giant 10 foot rooster (think terror bird) with a sonic crow.

Chō Sugimura/Pause Button - F, “Time Stop” grants the user the ability to freeze time for thirty seconds. Recharge of one day required. 

Katsu Saitou/Tremors - M, “Earthquake” The ability to make the ground shake, can cause liquefaction under the right circumstances.

Yoshie Urano/Plasma Bolt - M, “Plasma Bolt” grants the user the ability to generate and manipulate plasma balls, including throwing energy blasts.

Yaeko Moriyama/Eleventh Metal - F, “Magnetic” grants the user the ability to mess with metal's polarity, as well as magnetize themselves. She can use this to “jump” long distances by pushing off metal and then pulling herself to a new metal by changing her and its polarity. Only works if the metal is heavier than she is.

Kōta Yukimura/Rōnin - M, “Stat Boost” grants the user the ability superhuman reflexes and increased stamina. Prefers to use a katana because aesthetic.

Reiko Hino/Misty - F, “Sublimation” grants the user the ability to transform into a fog-like form. The user still has to take in oxygen and cannot permeate through objects.

Akiko Yamauchi/Whirlwind - F, “Telekinesis” grants the user to move objects with her mind, but only objects weighing less than 20 lbs. She can pick up quite a few though and likes to make a vortex of ouch! around her.

Takako Shibuya/MoonBeam - M, “Laser Beam” grants the user the ability to shoot a laser beam from his third eye. The beam is a bright silvery white and can vary in temperature, from mild burn to welding-torch. Too much use can cause MoonBeam to go temporarily blind in his third eye.

Isamu Iwai/Featherweight - M, “Mass” grants the user the ability to change an object’s mass temporarily if he touches it. Mass returns to normal after five minutes.

Hayate Miyamoto/Aquifer - M, “Water” grants the user the ability to create water and, to some extent, manipulate water he did not create. 

 Ryoichi Miyake/Hermes - M, “Winged Feet” grants the user the ability to fly very fast with winged feet.

 Hachirou Hashiguchi/Wolfgang - M, “Wolf” grants the user the ability to blow giant gusts of wind with his mouth. (He’s also a wolf heteromorph and Winterheart’s big brother!)

Miki Amano/Slime Devil - F, “Slime” grants the user the ability to generate slime that can either stay slick, get sticky, or harden to trap villains. She can generate slime from anywhere, but she prefers to use her hands.

Naruhito Sano/Batman - M, “Bat” a partial bat mutation. Can’t fly fast but can still fly, very good at echolocation and can even knock someone out with a sound wave if he gets close enough. He has very sensitive hearing, but is nearsighted. 

Kiyo Takenaka/Delirium - F, “Fever Dream” can cause terrifying hallucinations when she meets her opponent’s eyes. A strong willed enough victim can break free, though.

Shizuko Inaba/LaVenus - F, “Venus Flytrap” grants the user the ability to grow giant venus flytraps from her fingers and arms. The stems can get very long, and the flytrap heads are the size of basketballs. The flytraps can move independently of her will. She can also create one giant flytrap.

 Kenzou Satō/ZoomZoom - M, “Speedster” grants the user the ability to run very very fast. They are not as fast as the Flash or Hawks, but he’s considered on par with Ingenium. 

Akane Arima/Comet - F, “Meteor Hands” grants the user the ability to create bowling ball sized rocks, set them on fire, and throw them with incredible speed and accuracy.

Sumire Fukui/Obscurus  - F, grants the user the ability to create a field of darkness around themselves up to thirty feet diameter. They can see in the dark, but it cancels out all other types of vision.

Akihito Yoshino/Tarantella  - M, “Tarantula” grants the user the ability to use thermal vision, web creation (from their wrists) for sticky nets and ropes, and climb sheer walls. Since they’re a spider heteromorph, they have six arms, extra eyes, and is extra strong.

Shichirou Iwamoto/Captain Kangaroo - M, “Kangaroo” can do everything a kangaroo can, BIG muscles and can punch your lights out. Kangaroo heteromorph, of course.

Shinsuke Shimizu/Catscratch - M, “Scratch” grants the user the ability of silver fingernails that can lengthen to a foot long and can cut through steel.

 Osamu Ōshiro/Freeze Frame - M “Finger Frame” grants the user the ability to freeze something just by catching it between the square of their fingers, like he was making a frame around it. Freeze as in stop, not as in cold, and the fingers must be square and touching. The farther away and the more things caught between the frame, the harder the frozen things fight to start again.

Sayuri Hashiguchi/Winterheart - F, “Cold Breath” grants the user the ability to breathe freezing air and snow. Basically the exact opposite of breathing fire. (She’s Big Bad Wolf’s twin sister, but she’s not a heteromorph!)

Masato Yoshida/Bones - M, “Bone Armor” grants the user the ability to create armor made of super dense bone. He can even bounce bullets off it. Has been likened to an armadillo to tease him.

Yuu Seki/Cable - F, “Steel Medusa”  grants the user the ability to manipulate her hair made of steel cables.

Akito Maeda/X-Ray - F, “Identifying Eye” grants the user the ability to see weak points in structures and enemies. However, she herself has no extra strength or speed, and her vision can be overwhelmed.

Daigo Kanemaru/Porcupine - M, “Needle Spit” Can spit various amounts of needles of different sorts and lengths.

He has the aura that shows you that you can trust him but never broke his trust. If you do, he is still respectful but he will be distant to you. He has seen what his family and friends have been through and he got more protective and eerily observant but nobody will notice it. He is sneaky but a very father figure to any lost children who he found on the streets.

something i think about a lot is how SUCROSE would handle sponsorship and production agencies.

i mean... SUCROSE goes a long time being independently produced by yuichi, who runs a unit of his own now. he can't really keep that up forever, and upon SUCROSE becoming a part of ES, they'd have plenty of opportunities to have that responsibility taken care of.

but, like, think about it. sayaka, who manages SUCROSE, would obviously want to join StarPro if at all possible. it's very... her-core, i guess? i feel like kazu wouldn't mind it, either, seeing as he'd pass out from bi nerd panic from being a part of any ES production agency. but i really feel like utsuki and especially tamaki would be highly against this decision. i mean, valkyrie apologist & eichi disliker? sent tatsumi kazehaya death threats? yeah, nah, they wouldn't want any part of that.

so, i mean, when FRUcTOSE and gluCose get created, i feel like utsuki and tamaki would finally feel like they have a way out of StarPro, and after some deciding (and probably a quarrel with sayaka), i think... it would be logical for SUCROSE to split up very late story into FcT/gCs. gCs stays with StarPro, and FcT probably moves onto a different agency (utsuki would probably get sweettalked into joining CosPro, lmao), and the two duos can and do still collaborate often. this way, they become less like adam and eve, and more like their own unique units that just so happen to fit together nicely and collaborate often.

i guess SUCROSE as a whole was never meant to last forever, given that sayaka and yuichi started it to be a launchpad for sayaka's own idol career and to kickstart S-cape's popularity, but it became so much more than that. way more than either of them anticipated. it wasn't built with longevity in mind, but that doesn't mean FcT and gCs are temporary. i have a feeling those two duos will go on for a long time, keeping SUCROSE's dream alive.

1) Kimetsu no Yaiba - Kamado Tanjiro & Kamado Nezuko (no one can replace Tanjirou as BEST BIG BROTHER EVER. This anime is a heaven-sent)

2) K-On - Hirasawa Yui & Hirasawa Ui (purest sister bond you’ll ever see in an anime)

3)  3-gatsu no Lion - Kawamoto Akari, Hina & Momo (wholesome family bond)

4) Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood - Edward Elric & Alphonse Elric (it’s in the title. Their strong brotherly bond can defeat everything that comes for them)

5) Naruto - Uchiha Itachi & Uchiha Sasuke (when you say anime siblings, one of the first names that should come up is the Uchiha brothers. Some may disagree with Itachi’s actions but he loves his baby brother the most in the world)

6) Ao no Exorcist - Okumura Rin & Okumura Yukio (sometimes I forget that they’re twins because they both have such different personalities but even when they clash, you know they care about each other)

7) WWW.Working!! - Takanashi Souta, Kazue, Izumi, Kozue and Nazuna (I LOVE watching these siblings interact. Responsible Souta having to take care of the house and his sisters even though three of them are older than him. FUN)

8)  Osamatsu-san - Matsuno Osomatsu, Karamatsu, Choromatsu, Ichimatsu, Jyushimatsu, Todomatsu (everyone’s favourite sextuplets. What more can I say? You either love em or hate em)

9) Ouran High School Host Club - Hitachiin Hikaru & Hitachiin Kaoru (most famous anime twins ever? Amirite? Best comedy duo, well trio if you add Tamaki)

10) Charlotte - Otosaka Yu & Otosaka Ayumi (I know they have an older brother, Shunsuke but I like these two’s relationship more. You don’t wanna mess with best imouto or the oniichan will kill you)

11) Naruto - Temari, Gaara & Kankuro ( they were fearsome when they were kids. I legit was afraid of them but as the story progresses, they grew on me)

12) Koe no Katachi - Nishimiya Shouko & Nishimiya Yuzuru (the younger sister protecting the deaf big sister melts my heart uwu)

13) Code Geass - Lelouch vi Britannia & Nunnally vi Britannia (idk what else I can say, the dude literally did everything he could just to give his sister a better world to live in)

14) Ao Haru Ride - Tanaka Kou & Tanaka Yoichi (you’d be lying if you didn’t aaaw-ed at that scene when baby Kou was crying in his brother’s arms)

15) Boruto: Naruto the Next Generation - Uzumaki Boruto & Uzumaki Himawari (he’s such a sweet big brother to Hima)

16)  Seishun Buta Yarō -  Azusagawa Sakuta & Azusagawa Kaede (it’s cute and sad how clingy she is with her brother due to her syndrome. He tries his hardest to be a good big brother and she too did her best to recover so that he won’t feel sad anymore)

17) Clannad - Fujibayashi Kyou & Fujibayashi Ryou (that heartbreaking scene when they both basically got rejected by the same guy and started crying, uggh my heart)

18) Doraemon - Doraemon & Dorami ( not blood-related but more like oil-related lol since they both drank from the same oil can. They’re both the cutest)

19) Mob Psycho 100 - Kageyama Shigeo & Kageyama Ritsu ( I haven’t watched this anime yet but I really like these two?)

20) Cardcaptor Sakura - Kinomoto Touya & Kinomoto Sakura (I hate Touya so much when I was a kid because he was just like my brother who likes to tease and bully me. Never really liked him still but I appreciate his way of trying to protect sakura, no matter how annoying he is)

Toonami Weekly Recap 09/14/2019

Dr. Stone EP#04 - Fire the Smoke Signal: After Senku creates a successful batch of gunpowder, which Taiju accidentally sets alight, the group spot a different source of smoke in the distance, suggesting that there are other survivors. Senku makes the decision to light the gunpowder further to use as a smoke signal, leading Tsukasa to find him and use Yuzuriha as a hostage to obtain the recipe for the revival fluid. As Senku relinquishes the recipe to save Yuzuriha and is given the choice of either abandoning science or dying, he recalls how he developed his love of science and became friends with Taiju. Refusing to abandon science, Senku prepares to die at Tsukasa's hands.

gen:LOCK EP#07 - It Never Rains...: On the run from the Union, the gen:LOCK team deals with the aftermath of the loss of the Anvil and presumably the entire Vanguard. Val/entina discovers they can now play Kazu's guitar, a side-effect of gaining each other's memories during their mind-share, which Kazu finds uncomfortable. Chase gets into his Holon and patrols, only to hear Nemesis mocking him for no longer being a real human. Union drones soon ambush the group, forcing them to flee. Cammie realizes Nemesis is tracking them because he's still connected to the GL network, and so long as they stay in their Holons he will know where they are: none of them can use their Holons. As they contemplate their next move, Caliban initiates the Omega Protocol and starts speaking in Dr. Weller's voice: he delivers a message from Weller, who reveals Caliban is one of the earliest gen:LOCK experiments, possessing an early copy of his neural pattern and everything Dr. Weller knew for gen:LOCK; he ends the message assuring the team that they were all important to him and apologizes for not being there to the end. Caliban then reveals the gen:LOCK program's next destination was the Rogue Technology Aeronautics and Space Administration (RTASA) administration facility for further research and development. During the trip, Yaz tries to comfort Chase as he questions whether he or the Nemesis can be considered the real one: Chase being a copy, and the Nemesis now fighting for the Union. The group arrives at the facility to be greeted by a security force, who are quickly ordered to stand down by Dr. Henry Wu, one of the scientists they rescued in Atlanta. Wu introduces them to Dr. Fatima Jha, Dr. Weller's ex-wife and one of the earlier collaborators on gen:LOCK. They inform her of the loss of the Anvil and Weller's death: she expresses surprise that the Holon units made it to field-ready status, and brings in Marc Holcroft, one of the principal investors in the ESU and RTASA. Holcroft agrees to allow them to stay at RTASA and fix their Holons in exchange for the capture or destruction of Nemesis's Holon. Cammie leads the repairs, and upgrades the armor to give the Holons unique appearances, weapons, and abilities: Yaz is given wings similar to Chase's, Val/entina's is designed to resemble them, Kazu's is based on RoboShogun (a manga he loved as a child), and Cammie's is designed to look like a rabbit. Chase upgrades his holographic appearance with the gen:LOCK uniform, accepting the group as his new team.

Fire Force (VS. Special Fire Force Company 1 Arc) EP#08 - Infernal Insects: Captain Obi examines Hibana's research which indicates some kind of insect has been introduced into a human's core to create Infernals. At Company 1, life seems normal, but then a group of Infernals are detected and the company is mobilized. Shinra and Arthur are ordered to stand aside, however they see someone use an insect to turn a human into an Infernal and they go in pursuit, only to encounter Lieutenant priests Flam Karim and Hoshimiya Rekka in the shadows. Shinra and Arthur search Karim's room and find an insect in a glass vial, but Karim claims that he is also investigating which indicates that Rekka is the culprit. Meanwhile, Rekka gets Tamaki to gather some children, promising to protect them from becoming Infernals. Under the pretext of hugging her, he renders her unconscious and turns the children's carer into an Infernal with an insect then slays her. Tamaki awakens and Rekka says that he is creating Infernals for the Evangelist, searching for the one who will become the "pilot light". He infects a child who bursts into fire, but the boy manages to extinguish the flames himself and Rekka declares that he is compatible. Tamaki tries to flame up and Rekka prepares to beat her to death, but Shinra had seen her flame and bursts in to attack Rekka.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin EP#11 - The Battle of Loum.

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma (Training Camp Arc) EP#11 - The Magician from the East: Shinomiya initially refuses Soma's challenge, however, Dojima and Inui overhear and pressure him into accepting the challenge. Thus, Soma and Megumi battle Shinomiya in an unofficial Shokugeki under the condition that Megumi is the lead chef as this Shokugeki is designed to prove Megumi's worthiness as a chef. While Shinomiya makes his dish, Megumi starts to panic. Soma tells her to relax and to focus on making something that's representative of herself and not on what Shinomiya is doing. Megumi begins to cook her dish, with Soma serving as her sous-chef. Shinomiya presents his dish first, the Chou farci, and the judges give overwhelming praise to the dish. However Dojima is not satisfied by the dish, as it was not one of Shinomiya's specialties. Megumi then presents her dish, the Rainbow Terrine.

Lupin the 3rd Part 5 EP#14 - How To Steal A Kingdom: Padar society is divided between reformists led by the King and traditionalist elements led by the High Priest who opposes the country's advancement into the high-tech age. Lupin and company travel to Padar to track down Princess Dolma and steal the Bloody Teardrop, as does Fujiko with a grudging Ami in tow. As they all investigate the princess' whereabouts, they stumble right into an imminent coup d'état planned by the High Priest and covertly supported by Padar's army and the American government. Their plan is to depose the King and install Dolma as a puppet ruler. Lupin and Ami sneak into the royal palace to rescue Dolma, but as Lupin turns his back, he is suddenly shot by one of the princess' arrows.

Black Clover: Elf Tribe Reincarnation Arc EP#87 - Formation of the Royal Knights: Mereoleona kidnaps Asta, Noelle and Luck, revealing they and one other member of their group have all passed the exam and are now Royal Knights. Mereoleona takes them to the oath ceremony to meet their fellow Royal Knights, including Yuno, Klaus, Mimosa, Kirch, Nils Ragus, En Ringard, Puli Angel, Rill Boismortier, Fragil Tormenta, Hamon Caseus. Mereoleona announces herself as their captain before Zora arrives in Black Bull robes, revealing that he was a vigilante until Yami brought him into the Black Bulls after defeating him. Mereoleona provides everybody with new Royal Knight Robes while revealing that several other Royal Knight members like Nozel were only accepted despite failing the exam as their magic is needed to facing the Midnight Sun, who are based in a floating dungeon located in the Gravito Stones area. Inside the dungeon, Rhya dreams of a moment from his past as an elf where Licht married a human named Tetia, the half-elf child they conceived meant to be a bridge between their peoples.

McDuffie Award for Kids’ Comics—Shortlist Announced!

The nominees for the fifth annual Dwayne McDuffie Award for Kids’ Comics are here!

After reading scores of comics published in 2018, the judges have selected their top ten. In alphabetical order, they are: Be Prepared, by Vera Brosgol, sends young Vera, a Russian girl living in an American suburb, to summer camp—Russian summer camp, the only one her single mom can afford and the one where she just might be able to fit in,

The Cardboard Kingdom, by Chad Sell, follows a neighborhood of kids who transform ordinary cardboard into fantastical homemade costumes as they explore conflicts with friends, family, and their own identity.

Hidden Witch, by Molly Knox Ostertag, continues the story of Asler, hero of The Witch Boy, as he takes magic lessons from his grandmother and tries to help his non-magical friend Charlie escape from a curse that's trying to attach itself to her.

Last Pick, by Jason Walz, takes readers to an earth overrun by alien invaders, where only those too young, too old, or too "disabled" have been spared from abduction...but maybe the kids last picked can step up and start a revolution.

Lumberjanes: The Infernal Compass, by Lilah Sturges and polterink, finds the Janes separated during an orienteering outing, thanks to a mysterious compass that others very much want to lay their hands on.

My Beijing: Four Stories of Everyday Wonder, by Nie Jun, introduces Yu'er and her grandpa, who live in a small neighborhood in Beijing that's full of big personalities—with a story around every corner and a hint of magic each day.

Onibi: Diary of a Yokai Ghost Hunter, by Atelier Sento, transports readers to the places where natural and supernatural meet, as it explores some of the lesser-known parts of Japan in a story that is part fantasy and part travelogue.

Peter & Ernesto: A Tale of Two Sloths, by Graham Annable, tells the story of two best friends who are nothing alike—Peter loves their tree and never wants to leave, while Ernesto loves the sky and wants to see it from every place on earth.

The Prince and the Dressmaker, by Jen Wang, finds Prince Sebastian hiding a secret life―taking Paris by storm wearing fabulous dresses as the Lady Crystallia―and relying on the brilliant young dressmaker Frances, who guards his secret but has dreams of her own.

Sanity & Tallulah, by Molly Brooks, features best friends who live on a dilapidated space station at the end of the galaxy―but when Sanity creates a definitely-illegal-but-impossibly-cute three-headed kitten, the havoc it wreaks may mean the end of their outer space home.

While running away from the tracker jackers, Daisuke grabs Sayaka and throws her to the ground. [You Demon!]

Because of the concept @polar-star-dorks made, I wanted to think of some friendships that may happen because of the next gen meeting each other, and I gained some! Thank you for making the concept, it’s really fun so far!!

“Hey there, Tamaki-san! I hope you don’t mind my presence!!”

“... I don’t really mind it.”

Personally, I really like a friendship of a writer and an artist- and I suddenly remembered Tamaki liked drawing!! I can see both of them actually talking, even if Killian is in second year! He would probably gift Tamaki some more charcoal pencils and a sketchpad!! I can also imagine Killian trying to help him take criticism better since he was in his shoes before- he’d help without being obvious. Probably full blown out supports him when he sees him in any kind of competition- he even has a sign bigger than any fangirl that he may have.

“Oh... Senpai! It’s nice meeting you here.”

“It’s a pleasant meeting you here as well.”

Sachi may specialize in fermentation and in smoke cooking- but she’d love to hear more about spices and such! I can see her looking up to Hibiki since he’s part of the elite ten + she can learn more from him! They have one similarity and it’s they both do a lot for their parents!! I can see Hibiki actually talking to her sometimes when they cross each other, and they would probably talk about their different specialties sometimes!!

“I love Kazu darling with my whole heart! Bully him, I’ll kick your ass-! I also love Taka sweetie! He’s such a great cook! Bonus, he’s cute!”

“Will you stop that?!”

“I actually like the encouraging words!”

What I really love about Rutna is that from all my next generation kids, she’s one of the more famous ones. She encourages to love all of your school mate.

She’ll defend Kazuo with all her might! Thinks him being a romantic is really cute, and she’d go “Go for it, Kazu darling!!” when she knows about his crush on Mika. Actually doesn’t mind his presence and she crunches on her lollipop when she hears people bad talking to him and probably tap their shoulder to get their attention and tell them to stop.

With Takayuki, I have already said she’d think he’s cute because of his purple hair, but that aside- She really loves how he cooks! She loves Chinese food because of Kazuo Kuga (so there will be no confusion, I’ll place his last name), and she likes spicy things because of Manami! Would also end up trying to calm him down if ever he gets angry at someone. She attempts to hug them sometimes, hoping they’d accept.
