I didn't realize Chao (Chow / Katy)'s backstory was so sad in the manga... she's punished for helping Unico, her good deed mistaken for mischief, and declared unlucky and only fit to be a witch's servant... I thought she was just whimsical and imaginative, but no, she just took their mean words and excuses for throwing her away at face value and decided that's what she'll be.

Y'ALL
We were out running errands and I saw this on the shelf near the books.
Omg I cannot express how much I loved this series as a kid. I would rent the first movie so much, that at one point the video store had to get a second copy xD and wildly enough, I never knew there was a second movie, but I got to see it on YouTube at one point! I think both movies are still available there.
But omg to see this as a graphic novel.
Inner child, we are in for a treat!

Best Reads of 2024
this year i read 300 books. which i think is impressive but not as impressive as it sounds bc many of these books were very short, easy reads meant to be like, stuff you read at the airport or sitting by the pool on vacation. so it's not like i was tackling the harvard classics. i also read extremely fast; it only takes me about an hour to do 300 pages unless it's a super dense complex text. that said, here is a list of all the books i read this year that i would rate 4 stars or higher, separated by genre: Fantasy/Magical Realism: The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett Highfire by Eoin Colfer Tehanu by Ursula K. "the scarlet witch is a being of unfathomable magic. she can rewrite reality as she chooses, and is prophesied to either rule or annihilate the cosmos."
synopsis:
it is simple, you, [surname] [name], like the majority of the population in yokohama, are an ability user, or so everyone believes, or so you would like to believe as well.
your ability is special. you have abilities that are far greater than what this world refers to as singularities to be exact, and this is because you are more than just an ordinary ability user.
you are the scarlet witch—a being forged with no need for incantations or a coven, and being the scarlet witch you are, you have bewitched certain ability users in yokohama.
before you read:
possible spoilers for bungo stray dogs
your name is [surname] [name] and you have wanda maximoff's powers, making you the scarlet witch.
this is a oneshot series that is different and not associated with my "chaos — scarlet witch! baby fushiguro! reader oneshot series." in this oneshot series, reader is not a fushiguro by blood or surname, and reader does not belong to jujutsu kaisen either nor a baby or child, hence the reason why it will focus on a romantic aspect similarly to my "infinity — gojo! reader oneshot series".

Music in the EAH Universe and who listens to them Part 4.
This is just an excuse to try to make music puns and share music I think the characters would listen to. (Some of these are even canon by the books!) I don't even like a majority of these musicians but I am fully convinced of my choices here. I marked in colours the one that are canonically part of the EAH Universe.
Since Tumblr only allows 100 inline links for a post I have to make different parts.

A thing that hasn't left my mind for a bit. Hear me out.. MC Is a witch.
Now not Like some scarlet witch type witch, but a person who like sacrifices things 😅
I truly don't know I just have the idea of kate being all smug asking about what MC can do and MC just looks at her like "bring me a *something dead*" Kate believes it's bullshit untill MC does her thing and next thing you know they get a lot of money randomly. (Omg add to MC actually being like Salem witch trials old😭😭)
BUUUT if we wanna go the way of her actually having powers I was thinking of Morgana Pendragon! Katie Mcgrath my love, did an amazing job as Morgana. (Sorry had to show some love)
Excuse my rambling yet again! I honestly just was thinking of MC with the Feral sisters but she's a witch. Perhaps she's actually a lot stronger than the sisters and she thinks it's amusing?
-💙
Hellaw frosty!
Actually-
That has crossed my mind as well. Like, before I started on the first chapter I was contemplating having MC not be human because I was like "What makes her special? Why would the Denalis fall head over heels for her? How does one manage to charm an entire family of vampires?"
It was certainly tempting because I´m absolutely digging that concept of the Denalis being all smug and cocky, believing MC to be yet another mouse they can play with before going in for the final blow. Only for MC to...play along. Play the part of the innocent, because her appearance wouldn´t lead anyone to believe otherwise. To the public eye, she´s just an ordinary woman. A mortal.
The Denalis entertain her, so she´s willing to see where this goes.
...For now.
On the inside, however?
ANYWAY-
I ultimately decided against it because it just didn´t fit with what I had in mind. I´m a sucker for Beauty & The Beast type of stuff. Yknow, being held somewhere against your will by something that could snuff out your existence in the blink of an eye, but it decides not to because, for some strange reason, it seems to have a soft spot for you. Everyone else can f off though, no mercy.
It also helps that the place is actually quite nice to look at. Despite its rather...peculiar inhabitants.
Sooo yeah, I needed MC to be your ordinary human girl, facing off against forces that could wipe out entire armies in a matter of seconds. Because, in my books, there´s nothing sexier than having those forces at your beck and call, absolutely smitten with you, willing to kill for you, while you´re just there like-
(The last one is so MC & Kate yall. Kitty Kat, you hopeless case. 😭)
ANYWAY-
I gotta admit, the money thing has me a bit confused. Is that a thing? Like, making a sacrifice and getting a shit ton of money in return? Does that happen in any tv show or movie? Honestly curious cause I very rarely watch anything anymore. I´ve become more of a gamer and writer over the past couple of years. 😅
I do know Morgana Pendragon, but I haven´t actually seen her in anything cause *points to the aforementioned*. But I know a lot of ppl got the hots for her. I don´t blame them, lmao.
Okay so, I had to google Salem Witch Trials (don´t judge me) and-
LISTEN-
I love love love history so ofc we gotta make a quick lil smt, yes? Yes:
.
Imagine MC (a witch) living in Salem Village, the place where the accusations of witchcraft began. Those accusations were false, obviously, but it made blending in much more difficult for her kind. People have become wary, paranoid, forcing MC to a life in the shadows. She watched from afar as men and women alike - some of them close friends - were brought to trial. Some of them never returned home.
To this day, MC is plagued by feelings of guilt for merely watching as good men and women were executed in the name of "justice". She should have done something, could have done something. She has that power. But her heart had been gripped by a power mightier than her own: fear.
She can´t change the past, but she can ensure a future.
Multiple.
She now works from the shadows to preserve the light. A light that draws in creatures far more dangerous than herself. How she despises them.
Vampires.
.
OKAY LISTEN-
Witch!MC claps eyes on the sisters, dragging some poor fella away. Fella´s already dead, so there isn´t much she can do. However, that doesn´t mean others can´t be saved. So she follows them, cloaking spell firmly in place, in the hopes they´re gonna lead her to their hideout. Because she couldn´t live with herself if she didn´t at least check, yknow?
Well, nobody´s there. Nobody with a heartbeat, that is.
Good.
She turns around, about to leave (because she might despise them but she doesn´t start fights without good reason), when-
"...Who´s there?"
...
Impossible.
.
Cue MC revealing herself. Cue MC acting all naive and innocent. Cue MC pretending to be human so she can infiltrate The Lair and find out what´s so special about that weird ass family that causes her powers to malfunction.
LISTEN-
I dunno, lmao.
I just know it´s gonna be a mess à la The Sisters from there on out. The Denalis obsessed with the fake!human, while said fake!human is just there like-
Not even realizing she´s bewitching (hehe) an entire family of vampires - her sworn enemies - because she´s rather busy being a confused gremlin.
(Do you sense a pattern here?)
Hm.
She might have to annihilate them after all.
We´ll see.
.
.
.
Apparently, I can´t write an MC who´s not completely dense when it comes to just about anything.
I apologize.
(Never.)
Thanks a lot for your ask! 💋

@themousefromfantasyland
Ghosts is a supernatural-themedBBC One sitcom that premiered in 2019, written by and starring The Six Idiots (Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond). This marks the group’s fourth project together, after the sketch show Horrible Histories, fantasy comedy Yonderland, and feature film Bill.
The premise revolves around a young couple, Alison and Mike (Charlotte Ritchie and Kiell Smith-Bynoe), who inherit the derelict Button House with plans to turn it into a hotel. Little do they know, Button House is also home to numerous restless spirits who have died there over the centuries, unable to leave the grounds and resigned to squabbling with each other for eternity: Robin (Rickard), a caveman and the oldest of the ghosts; Mary (Katy Wix), an eccentric woman burned as a witch during the Stuart era; Kitty (Lolly Adefope), an excitable and naive Georgian aristocrat; Thomas (Baynton), a melodramatic and easily-infatuated Romantic poet; Lady Fanny (Howe-Douglas), the repressed and overbearing Edwardian-era owner of the house; The Captain (Willbond), a pompous, World War II-era military officer; Pat (Howick), a friendly scout leader who was accidentally shot in the neck with an arrow by one of his scouts; Julian (Farnaby), a slimy Conservative MP who died as the result of a scandalous sex mishap; and Headless Humphrey (head - Rickard; body - Yani Xander), a beheaded Tudor nobleman who, due to his own clumsiness, spends most of his time trying to reunite his head and his body.
When the ghosts learn of the couple's plans for the house, they conspire to scare the couple away. Things don’t quite go as they expect, as the ghosts prove themselves to be pretty ineffectual at haunting; however, thanks to a spiritual hand causing Alison to suffer a near-death experience, she gains the ability to see and hear them. After finding out that her husband has taken out a massive loan to renovate the house, which the couple can't get out of, Alison and the ghosts form an uneasy truce as both she and Mike try their best to stop their dream home/hotel from turning into a complete nightmare.

Favorite Mary scenes? I feel she doesn't get enough love! :)
SHE'S MY FAV (after Robin)!
- "Move over you soppy bit of rag!"
- "RENOUNCE SATAN, WITCH!....Yeah, yeah, that's probably done it."
- "Be there a third option?"
- "YEEEEES!"
- EVERY Mary and Kitty scene! Y'all can all go feral over Cap and Kitty, I love the girls together, I love Mary supporting Kitty standing up to Cap, I love them cuddling in the Christmas ep, I love their little inventory rhyme, I love how they're always cooing over stuff together, I love them playing hide and seek, I love Mary putting her to bed at the party, I just love them so much!
- Likewise, her and Robin's queerplatonic romance is as special as chess husbands to me, if not more. They are trauma bonded chaos gremlins who are down for murder and watching Loose Women, Robin misses his lawyer!
- "They sounds like tiny peoples. Blipblipblip!"
- "Someone here has done nothing wrong!" *walks out singing triumphant*
- "YOU LISTEN TO ME, AL'SON COOPERS!" Scary Smoke Goddess Mary ftw.
- "Aww, the child still lives. Most surprising that!"
- Her joining in the big fight and headbutting Cap as soon as she has an excuse! She's been waiting a while to beat these boys up!
- Her growth from calling a video camera a metal cow to being a director understanding editing!
- How proud she is of Alison for speaking as she wanted to scare the cult people away!
- All her improv but of course her kicking off the dinner scene "yes and", encouraging Robin to try it again - for Alison this time.
- And of course her and Annie! Not enough fics of them, when you know if they were two dudes the fandom would be all over them. Their little wave when they first meet is total Meet Cute. Mary's happiest memory is with Annie. They are wives, your honour.
Could name any scene she's in really, miss her so, can't believe we couldn't get Katy to cameo in the finale, Mary deserved more than a single name drop.
