actually kind of fascinating that pierce's primary role in the show is to serve as this constant ghost of christmas future for jeff, and symbolize the person that he will become if he doesn't become a better person. nearly every plotline that's about the two of them goes back to this, but especially in biology 101 where pierce and jeff are treated as almost interchangeable within the group, down to the 2001 homage and pierce getting the empty spot in biology that jeff left behind. any time the show has a plotline that focuses on pierce, like advanced gay or the first documentary episode, it ends up circling back around and being about jeff.
Do I love them or am I in love with the idea of them? They’re always on my mind, I’ve known them for a while, I’d do anything for them. Is it love? I feel that I don’t know them deep enough to love but the feeling is so strong, could it be love?
I haven't posted in a looong time! But hello! It's almost been a year since I went to New York for the first time and saw Spies in Concert! I made this pop-up card last minute because I just had to!
what are your favorite wlw ships in the dc universe?
anissa pierce and grace choi are recently on my mind because oh my God. they're so important. everyone should read The Outsiders (2003) for some of the most entertaining found family and realistic (or as realistic as superhero comics can get) romance ever. eventhough anissa and grace get together at like the end of the run you can tell from the beginning that theres some intense chemistry there ans they're just sooo cute ☹️
after that it has got to be diana and barbara ann. save me toxic yuri à la Wonder Woman (2016). i think every single hero needs that one relationship with a villain/anti-hero that they just can't give up on no matter what. it makes them so complicated and REAL because the most wonderful thing about love is it's ability to preserve through the impossible AND THAT IS LITERALLY DIANERVA!!!! they are foils and they want to get nasty everytime they lock eyes.
now i can't discuss dc sapphics without mentioning kate and renee. they were my first ever wlw ship i read in comics and i am very happy for it. as a lesbian i find comics can be a very isolating place, with very few characters and ever fewer stories, so reading Batwoman Elegy was quite literally a life changing experience. and while i loved all of the relationships kate had, her one with renee is such an interesting one with all its ups and downs and very real experiences that i love very dearly. my divorced parents, if you will.
