first I'll recommend checking @aftgficrec account and tag list, it's very well organized and really, you'll find something to your liking

but I'd like to recommend maybe a couple good fics still (all of them are finished and andreil)

say something by Willow_bird, post canon andreil with discussion of mental health and healing, selective mute!Neil, very cute, they learn sign language together

progress comes in small steps by Ominous, short series with post canon andreil and kataaron, wholesome twinyard and silliness

In Fender Fields by Dhillarearen, world war one AU, amazingly written, trans Neil and Renee, it's one of the best I've read

Odd Eye by tdashshirts, (my favourite), excellent take on Andrew being on the neurodivergent spectrum, showing how misunderstood he is by his family and team, a piece of art really (I'm totally biased but I love it)

does the dog die at the end? by stillmadaboutpetra, Neil doesn't go to PSU but still has his run-in with his father, he loses a leg. much later he meets Andrew, they get close, there is a dog, many dogs, it's wholesome

there's always more but yeah, if you don't know where to start, those are nice to get into the fandom :)

Hey can you find me any fics where Andrew and Aaron meet later in life, it can be when Andrew already met Neil or not, either way is fine. I just wanted a fic that focused on the twins relationship without all the trauma with Tilda and Drake like in canon.

"Aaron’s jaw dropped at the same time he heard Katelyn gasp. He was sure he was hallucinating. Or maybe he was back on drugs. Because the man who stepped up to their table looked absolutely identical to Aaron.

He had the same straight, blond hair. He had the same hazel eyes with gold flecks, though his looked completely apathetic. He had an eyebrow slit and black gouges in his ears. He appeared to have the same abundance of tattoos Neil did, some lining his biceps, while others crawled up his neck.

He was also absolutely ripped, with bulging biceps and broader shoulders than Aaron’s could ever be. He had a tight, black, short-sleeved turtleneck on, along with a pair of light wash, ripped jeans. He was wearing black armbands that covered pretty much his entire forearms too, which were embroidered with colorful flowers and bumble bees.

Okay, so maybe not exactly the same. But he was similar enough to obviously be Aaron’s twin."

and then it’s later and kataaron have come back to america(with nicky? erik?) and he gets mistaken for andrew and people are like are you cheating on neil and aaron is like who the fuck no

and then they find andreil on the news and all the stuff about what happened during the books/while kataaron & nerik(?) were in germany

anyway and then they get so confused like why does this dude look like me 

and then they talk to maria/luther who they’ve all been ignoring the last like 7 years for being homophobic assholes but they figure they’d know the best if aaron had a brother 

and then luther’s like oop yeah she told us she had twins and left one but i figured it just died or something, and ig they don’t remember what aaron looks like having barely seen him so they didn’t connect the dots about andrew and anyway they don’t care about exy stuff

so anyway then shit happens that i can’t figure out because im not gonna write it anyway
