Government has started the the construction 🚧 of a 100 metres wide Corridor near the Vishwanath temple area which will connect Ganga Ghat to Old Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Thus all the illegal construction and some legal ones as well we're demolished along with encroachment areas by compensating them a hefty amount of money.

Now the good side to it is that a lot of unknown and hidden temples which aged as long as 16xxx and structures have surfaced which were earlier not accessible to the general public as they were converted into a private property by the people who were owing that place.

Not so good part is that lot of sentiments were hurt as many Banarasi's who lived in the old city had their houses and shops and were living there for many years and got emotionally attached to it completely. Also the essence of this oldest city being it's extremely narrow lanes and twisted turns connecting one place to the other will now not be there as more modernized look will be given to it.

The adventure, the sence of wonder which outsiders use to feel when they use to come in this area will now no longer be there..!! . But like they say that change is constant and you have to accept it. Every change comes with a sacrifice and a hope of ease and goodness.
