Kirby Right Back At Ya characters as Gijinkas ( my human version )
I added Yamikage as black nail polish on his nails to make it cool because why not. I changed their skin a bit to make it into human like as their own colored as my impressions. Made Kit Cosmos messy and couldn’t find the outfit because he was stranded in the island for unknown reasons. QwQ
Garlude and Sirica are my favorite gals in Kirby series I love them so much :).
If your curious what art supplies I use it’s Ohuhu markers, Copic markers, White Gel Pen, Caliart Markers, and Posca pen plus a sketchbook. I love how they came out and changing the art shading a b bit to make it all nice and neat

I designed more outfits for Knuckle Joe's widowed mother Marian.
Muay Thai Fighter Outfit: This is one of her main Fighter outfits.
Karate Gi: The outfit Marian wears whenever she trains her martial arts skills. It is also a perfect get-up for Marian in a Megaton Punch competition.
White T-Shirt and Shorts: A casual look for Marian, also includes a hoodie.
Bathrobe
Nightgown
Swimsuits: She has two.

Arima feeling pissed for the second time
What really happened was that after Arima caused a scene, Joe immediately picked up Cherry and Shadow yelled at him to get inside the car. The heterochromatic skater picked up Carla and stared at it.
This man had gone too far. He traumatized Reki. He’s way too obsessed of Langa. The last straw was hurting Cherry and it made her snap. Just how long the man will keep hurting other people for his own satisfaction…?
She tightly gripped Carla’s side and was prepared to smash the board the second time on ADAM’s face if it weren’t for Shadow.
“That’s enough, kid!” he grabbed her hood. “It’s more important to take Cherry to the hospital! You stay here and prepare for your race!”
“But-!”
He karate-chopped her head.
“We’ll take him to the hospital. You and that brat stay here and finish your races.” He took Carla and threw it inside his car. “The only thing you can do for now is win. Got that?”
She opened her mouth counter him but she closed it instead and nodded.
“Got it.”
***
Miya skated against SNAKE. While watching, she noted how SNAKE is extremely fast for Miya to catch up. And his skating style is very familiar.
“It reminds me of…ADAM-no… there’s a touch of difference with his dancing…”
SNAKE won and she prepared her turn. She’s up against a guy named Raze. She won the race with a huge gap from her opponent.
She will win her beefs and compete against ADAM and beat him. She wanted revenge for her first beef against him, for hurting Reki and Cherry, and for making the red-haired teen remind him of the skill gap between him and Langa.
“…You really did come.”
She looked up and saw Tadashi staring at her. Upon seeing that familiar face, her eyes widened. “You’re that guy from the other day.”
“Do you want to have a beef against ADAM?”
“Hell yeah, I do.” She cracked her knuckles. “That guy has gone too far. Punching him sounds nice but, I might feel better if I beat him in a beef. I want to feel that feeling again.”
Tadashi’s eyes widened when he saw her red and gold eyes dilate thinking of the thrill and madness.
“That feeling of racing against him… playing along then breaking it… those violent movement I do against him… the exhilaration of it all… I want to feel it again and crush him.”
The man looked at her and slowly closed his eyes.
“I’m sorry for using you, DEVIL but… if it’s to bring back Ainosuke-sama, I’m willing to use you to throw him off balance. The only skater he refused to skate, you.”

Any Kirby anime character.
HM havent watched any eps of that in forever tbh but ill do knuckle joe’s anime version bc hes the one of my huge favorites that has a lot to talk about
do I like them: fuck yeah that is my boy!! one of my first comfort characters...
5 good qualities: i loooove his anime design the game version is very good but the anime vibes with me. i love all of his episodes so much they vary in writing but theyre always such a fun ride no matter what, and going off of that hes just a very funny character i love the montage from his first episode where he just aggressively manhandles everyone asking where kirby is meanwhile hes like. 12 with a new yorker accent. the cop and bar scenes still make me cackle. he also doesnt like meta knight and doesnt even seem to be friends with him after his first episode (which is understandable obviously i just respect him for it) and i love how he became a monster hunter like yes that makes SENSE and its different from what mk was implied to do and what kirby does. and this way he isnt a war criminal so like bonus
3 bad qualities: related to sirica but i dont like that he got 3 episodes while sirica only got 1 :/ i get that theyre kinda similar but theyre different enough to have potential for different plotlines, and as much as i love his episodes he didnt need 3 over sirica’s 1. i also get that its the plot and its an act but his behavior in his second episode before his reveal feels weird, particularly arc wise bc him pretending to be a jackass for kicks... right after genuinely being one and reforming. doesnt really feel like a natural progression. helps that it was a ruse but i feel there were better ways to show off the monster hunter revelation. also i liked his purple color pallete i wish he kept it
favourite episode/etc: bro episode 65 makes me go apeshit every time i see it its so corny and edgy and i LOVE IT
otp: my childhood pairing was knuckle joe/fumu lol i just thought they would be cute... like a brains/brawn power couple. but i also have a rarepair in knuckle joe/karate kid bc of headcanons lol I Will Not Elaborate
brotp: knuckle joe/sirica bro they support each other over their shared traumas and monster hunt together...
ot3: uhh idk lol
notp: sirica/knuckle joe bc a) siricas is gay and b) heteros are either absolutely disgusting with it or do not handle it to any potential it could have, no inbetween so any appeal it couldve possible had to me when i was younger was ruined. also anything nasty ofc
best quote: i know he has some good ones probably but im drawing a blank i cant remember any, so im gonna say “kirby. do you want to die?” from the subs bc the absurdity just makes me cackle every single time god they get so into the drama and its great.
head canon: his earliest memory is his dad singing to him... while fighting off a monster that was trying to eat him.

CODA
Part: 1, 2, 3:
Día uno
Daniel sat in his car, waiting for the traffic, then he saw it:
COBRA KAI KARATE
Memories flood his mind. Johnny's instructions as the students chants. The beach, the hill, Halloween and the tournament. All leaving him speechless.
Ain't love a kick in the head?
Joe and Miguel stood in front of their sensei. "So, are we gonna get the karate pajamas, too?" "QUIET!" Johnny ordered.
"Okay." The two kept quiet, listening as the man spoke. "The student only speaks when spoken to. Is that understood? "Yes." "Or, yes "sir"?"
"Always address me as "Sensei". Is that understood?" "Yes, Sensei." "These aren't pajamas. This is a gi. And you'll get one when you've earned it. Ready to begin your training?"
The two said yes. Lawrence got a hold of Miguel and swept him onto the mat, leg sweeping Joey. The teens groaned from the sudden hit.
M: "Oh my God."
J: "Ow."
Johnny piped, "Lesson one. Strike first. Never wait for the enemy to attack." Joey helped Miguel onto his feet. "You could have given, like, a warning." "Quiet! We do not train to be merciful here." He circled the boys. Miggy took a few puffs from his inhaler. "Mercy is for the weak."
"You all right, man?" Joey whispered. "Yeah, yeah. I'm good." He inhaled.
"Here on the street, in competition, a man confronts you, he is the enemy." He stops in front of them. "An enemy deserves no mercy. Is there a problem, Mr. Diaz?" An out of breath Miguel tried his best to reply. "There's no problem, Sensei." Joe spoke for him, then he was able to speak. "You-you punched me, and I have asthma, so--" Johnny snatched the inhaler from Diaz and threw to the wall.
"Not anymore. We do not allow weakness in this dojo." He looked at the boys in the eyes. "So, you can leave your asthma and your peanut allergies and all that other made-up bullshit outside, understood?" The teen boys understood and tried to explain to him that those are real medical problems, they stopped, "Yes, Sensei, understood." Johnny continued. "Cobra Kai isn't just about karate." He pointed at the wall that said Cobra Kai's creed. "It's about a way of life. Take that first lesson. Striking first is the initial step towards victory." The two nodded. "Okay? Like when you're at a party, and you see a hot babe."
"Yeah."
"You don't wait for another guy to talk to her first, do you?
"I mean, neither of us ever been to a party, so.."
"Big surprise. All right, look. Striking first is about being aggressive, all right? If you're not aggressive, you're being a pussy and you don't wanna be a pussy. You wanna have balls." Okay, that's a big step in the game. Miguel spoke up, "Don't you think you're doing a lot of genderizing?"
"What?"
Joey stepped in. "Uh, don't you think you're doing a lot of genderizing, Sensei?" "No. What the hell are you talking about?"
M: "Oh, uh, well, my guidance counselor says that certain words perpetuate the sexist world view that can trigger--"
"Quiet!" The boys jump. "From now on, you won't listen to your guidance counselor. You're gonna listen to me. Is that understood?"
In unison, "Yes, Sensei."
"Good." Johnny ordered, "Now stop yapping like a little girl and give me 50 push-ups on your knuckles." The teens went on the knuckles and gave their all, but struggled. Shit. Their sensei noticed and changed the punishment. "All right, just do some crunches. Don't you have gym class or something?"
M: "Yeah." J: "Sure do."
A man walked into the dojo as the two started their sit ups. The man called their sensei's name. Miguel spoke, "Oh, it's Sensei."
"Miguel, shut up." Lawrence mistook the man, walking to him. "What brings you in? Looking to lose that gut and learn how to kick some ass?" He looks at himself then back up at Johnny. "No. I'm from the city health department." He handed papers. "This is a list of requirements needed to open up an exercise studio." "This isn't an exercise studio. This is a karate dojo." "Yeah, same deal."
He walked around as Johnny's students continued with the sit ups. "This place needs a lot of work. You're not open for business, are you?" He turned to the teens. "You. You a customer here?" Johnny answered, "Oh, no, they're just illegals I picked up this morning. They're helping me set up." Glasses told him that he just came for inspection if the place is eligible to open, making Lawrence ask. "So, I have to do all this crap before I even open?"
"No, you need to do all that to get the certificate that's required to get the insurance you need to open. But you knew that when you signed your lease, right?" "Uh, right. Yeah."
The guy compliments the cobra by the entrance on his way out. "Huh. Cool rattlesnake." Johnny corrected him. "It's a cobra." "Oh, right. Duh." He read the red striking letters. "Cobra Kay." The blonde shook his head.

ENCINO OAKS Country Club
Every family, rich family, were at the club having a grand time. Although, Daniel was having a rough time to get his youngest kid on board. After the attempts, he walks over to his wife at the bar. "You know, I would have killed to visit a club like this when I was his age."
As the middle aged man spoke to his wife, a man who appeared to be in his seventies asked for two cokes and a pint of Mezcal. "Ah, hey there, Jim." Amanda greeted the man, Daniel shook his hand. "I hope you're the designated driver." He joked. Jim laughed, shaking his head. "No, but this one is." He pointed at his daughter, well, stepdaughter. The two had to go meet their family back at the table. "We'll see you later, LaRussos." The brunette told the couple as she waved, getting the drinks.
"Hey, Ma?" The young man asked his mother who returned to the table with her father. She hummed. "Wasn't Joey supposed to come? He said he'd be coming last week." "Well, he's busy, Mika. His dad, too."
"We can all go to the beach next time, sweetie." His grandmother suggested, Mickey nodded as his twin came to join them.
--
Johnny walked into the dojo with bags in each hand. Miguel cleaned the mats as Joe dusted and swept, both helping each other. "Looking good." The boys hummed. "Make sure you get both sides. After you're done with that, you can take care of these exposed wires. That's gonna be a lot of work." He walked into the office. Joe questioned out of curiosity, "What does any of this have to do with karate, Sensei?" The man came out from the office, "Do not question my methods." He opened his Coors Banquet. "Just be thankful you're not a sumo wrestler. Those guys have to wipe their sensei's asses."
Miguel was awestruck from the boxes full of trophies. "So, I see you were a karate champion, Sensei." Joseph continued cleaning as Johnny took a sip, "You don't have to call me Sensei every time." "I'm sorry, Sensei-- Sorry. I'm sorry."
"I won a couple All Valley tournaments." He explained, the two boys listened. "Didn't lose a single point in my junior year."
J: "That's awesome." M: "What happened in your senior year?"
"This isn't 20 questions. Get back to scrubbing." The two went back but Miguel's phone rang. The ringtone made Johnny wonder where 'the garbage' was coming from. "Sorry." He picked it up. "Hey!" The person on the other line spoke him. "Yeah, uh, debate's running a little late... Uh, Joey? He's--he's" He quickly asked for assistance from his hazel eyed friend. "Uh, with you! With you!"  "He's with me. Yeah... Uh, okay. Love you, too." Diaz hung up.
"Don't tell me you have a girlfriend." Joey chuckled at Johnny. "That was my mom, actually." Miguel says, "I told her I joined the debate team 'cause she doesn't approve of violence." "Yeah, what about your dad?" Lawrence asked, "Is he okay with you getting your ass kicked up and down Reseda Boulevard?" "I, uh... I never really knew my dad, so.."
For a moment of silence, he looked at Joseph. "My dad doesn't know. My other parent, uh, well, I can't say." Johnny felt the tension and changed the topic. "All right, well, stop standing there. Get back to training."
They went back to the housekeeping. M: "Okay, yeah." J: "Sorry."
"And change that ringtone. Get some Guns N' Roses or something." Miguel turned to him, "What's Guns N' Roses?" "I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that."
While Johnny was in his office, Miguel and Joseph spoke as they cleaned the mats. "Can I ask about, uh, your other parent?" He saw the eagerness on Joey's face fall. "Or, you don't have to. It's fine, sorry." Joseph shook his head, "It's fine. It's just... I never knew my mom." He clicked his tongue. "The only mom I ever really had was my aunt."
"From yesterday?" "Mhm. She's been there for me. I mean, almost every woman in our family was always there. All I know is that my dad's been through a lot." "Hey, you got me now. My mom and Yaya. Sensei Lawrence."
Joey smiled at him, nodding.
Friend.

Best Base for Mixed Martial Arts: Making the Transition into the World of MMA
Tumblr media
Ever since the beginning of MMA competitions, the age old question of which martial art style is the best has been all but answered: there is no one discipline that is the be all and end all of martial arts, rather a broad knowledge of all aspects of fighting covering a broad spectrum of fighting styles is the formula of becoming a successful modern MMA fighter.
Forever seeking topics for a good debate, MMA fans has instead started asking about: which martial art serves as the best base for a MMA fighter? Meaning if you have to pick a fighting discipline to begin training at a young age so that a transition into the world of MMA can be relatively easy and smooth later on, which martial art discipline should it be?
A Look at the Ultimate Fighter Winners
By simply looking at past UFC champions in an attempt to analyze the success of each style serving as base to their MMA success would paint a somewhat inaccurate picture since all the champions are seasoned fighters already possessing extensive training in other forms of martial arts. A more revealing group of fighters would be up coming fighters still in the infancy of their MMA careers struggling to make the transition. One such group of fighters can be found competing on the popular Spike TV/UFC reality show: The Ultimate Fighter.
Already having 9 seasons of the reality series in the books, the show has crowned 15 winners in various weight classes thus far. A look at the martial arts backgrounds of the winners can perhaps serve as the basis of discussion to which martial art discipline provides the best base for MMA.
Season 1 winner Forrest Griffin- According to Griffin’s website, Griffin trained at the HardCore Gym for five years under Adam and Rory Singer and developed “a raw combination of martial arts fused with a bare knuckle barroom technique.” Forrest Griffin can thus be considered as training in Mixed Martial Arts right of the bat.
Season 1 winner Diego Sanchez - Diego Sanchez was a high school wrestler with Karate training starting at the age of nine.
Season 2 winner Joe Stevenson – Started wrestling at the age of 11 and started jiu-jitsu at the age of 13.
Season 2 winner Rashad Evans – An all-state wrestler in high school and also wrestled for Michigan State University. Rashad is also a jiu jitsu specialist.
Season 3 winner Kendall Grove – Wrestled in high school before starting his MMA training.
Season 3 winner Michael Bisping – According to an article from the Sun, Michael Bisping started training in a traditional form of jujutsu known as Yawara Ryu at the age of 8.
Season 4 winners will not be included in this discussion since the season focused on veterans attempting to make a comeback which is not within the scope of this discussion.
Season 5 winner – Nathan Diaz started Gracie jiujitsu under Caesar Gracie as a teenager and is currently a brown belt.
Season 6 winner – According to UFC.com, Mac Danzig started training jiujitsu at Casey Leonard’s gym in Pittsburgh in 2000.
Season 7 winner – According to UFC.com, Amir Sadollah began his training in MMA at Team Combat located in Richmond, VA.
Season 8 winner – Efrain Escudero was a NJCAA All-American wrestler before competing in MMA.
Season 8 winner – Ryan Bader was a two time NCAA Division I All-America wrestler at Arizona State University before training in MMA.
Season 9 winner – According to UFC.com, Ross Pearson started Taekwondo and Judo at an early age.
Season 9 winner – According to UFC.com, James Wilks first started training in Taekwondo and JKD, but later moved to the US to improve on his ground fighting skills and trained under Eric Paulson in submission wrestling. Erik would use a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi in many of his matches.
Ground Fighting is Key
Out of the 13 winners included in the discussion, 7 of them have a base in wrestling, 4 in jiujitsu or some forms of jujutsu, 1 has a judo and Taekwondo background, and 2 started outright with some combination of mixed martial arts training. Even though winners with a wrestling base make up over half of the TUF winners, it can be argued that it is due to the culture of wrestling in the USA; with a higher percentage of athletes competing in wrestling, it increases the likelihood of a wrestler becoming a good mixed martial artist later on. The same can be said of judo in Japan or Korea as that would be their most popular form of grappling.
A common thread which is obvious here is the ground fighting background that all of the TUF winners possess which would be a strong argument that a grappling base would be a better one than a base in a forming of striking art.
