NOONTIME SHAKE UP
Pinanood ko yung 3 shows na to ngayong araw at ito observation ko:
1. EAT BULAGA (TAPE - GMA7)
Recently napansin ko na di na nila ginagamit yung word na DABARKADS. KAPUSO na ang tawag nila sa mga audience. To think na TAPE is not GMA.
2. TVJ ( TV5)
3. IT'S SHOWTIME (ABS - GTV)
Pasabog yung opening.

The Importance of Arts During Pandemic
The whole world is stressed out because of the Coronavirus, but we have "art" to help us get through this pandemic and lessen our fear and tension. Art allows us to communicate with others from afar, brings us positivity, and gives us hope during this pandemic. Besides, in times like this, art also becomes the voice of everyone and serves as a detach of expression, not only for artists but to all of us, that will give a new idea to others.
This pandemic, people make arts like drawing, painting, sculpture, architecture, music, dance, literature, theater arts, and photography as their coping mechanisms. It keeps them busy and distracted from the stresses brought by COVID-19.
Neil Doloricon, “Lockdown” & “Pila”, 2020.
Leonilo' Neil' Doloricon is an artist and the chairman of Concerned Artists of the Philippines (CAP). Neil Doloricon posted new prints and digital cartoons on his Facebook page as means of expression during the pandemic. One of those is an artwork entitled "Lockdown."
His artwork portrays the situation during the lockdown, wherein people are forced inside their houses, and armed men are continuously patrolling the area. The places in his work looked to be the typical homes from the slum areas of the country. Locks are on the doors of these houses, and the people's faces are covered in masks. This represents the masks people put on to protect themselves from the COVID 19 virus that has spread and the restriction of the people's freedom as the government gained control in this pressing time.
Just as the wandering eyes of the people in the artwork look at random directions, this represents the Filipino's uneasiness in finding hope again for physical and artistic freedom.
Ben&Ben's “Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin”
Music serves as a bridge of communication, especially in difficult times like this.
Ben&Ben's "Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin" is a song that revolves around a realistic illustration arising in a family. Some listeners/citizens' opinion is that it is connected to the pandemic that happened wherein learning how to speak their minds and eventually how to listen to each other. They notice that various families have an issue and misunderstanding that is happening, and their only way to escape is to go out with friends. Then pandemics occurred, and they were not used to talking or opening up with their family members.
As ben and ben said “Isang alay sa ating mga kapamilya. Para sa bigat ng mga pangyayari ngayon.” the song is a representation of the society we live in.
Gratitude of Wall in Cagayan De Oro & Austin Zucchini-Fowler's Front Line Fighter
Art helps us express our appreciation and gratitude to our everyday heroes, the frontliners.
Now that we live through this pandemic, we cannot see our friends and family as much as we used to, but we can still create a message of gratitude because of art.
Artist worldwide has been creating artworks that shows gratitude to our frontliners, not only those in the medical field but also in other sectors, who helps us get through and fight against the coronavirus.
For example, a gratitude of wall was recently revealed in Cagayan de Oro along the Corrales Street in front of the Seda Hotel to show appreciation to frontliners for serving the public and continuing the fight against COVID19.
Another example is the series of murals that depict healthcare professionals as angels - with masked, wings and boxing gloves by artist Austin Zucchini Fowler in Denver.
“Fearless Girl” at New Year Stock Exchange & “Magic Carpet Ride” statue in California.
Art can be a Public Health Communication During COVID19.
In a crisis like this, public arts is a big help for us because this can be used as an instruction tool to improve our overall well-being. It directs and signal how we should interact and behave.
People nowadays use artistic interventions to spread messages about the safeness of everyone by putting a mask on statues all over the world.
An example of this is the "Fearless Girl" at New York Stock Exchange and the "Magic Carpet Ride" statue along the Highway in California, this sculptures serves as a friendly reminder to wear masks to help prevent from spreading the virus and create a healthy environment.

Part Wall, Part Door, Part III Blueprint, 24 x 36 inches, three pages, edition of 100, self-published, printed by Arkishop, Philippines. Assemblies of the unfinished, informal, and ongoing reconstruction of shelters in the Philippines and Hong Kong. Photographed from 2016-2020.
For Comfort People Safety Curtain by #2bd3t3rm1n3d alongside Ethniko Bandido, Clara Balaguer, Suzin Kwon and Nash Tysmans. Commissioned by WorkNot, for Fictioning Comfort exhibition, ShowRoom MAMA Rotterdam.
/ Five local, diasporic and recent-migrant cultural bodies from the Philippines—plus one South Korean kapamilya[1]—form the latest active cell of To Be Determined.[2] Together, they re-purpose excerpts of their work that deal with ideas of safety under hazardous construction. This collective labor takes the form of a grey literature convenience store located on a shared online spreadsheet. Cultural and political souvenirs—stamps, zines, essays, and hidden easter eggs—are offered to the public in exchange for modest donations or nothing at all, when specified. After receiving financial contributions online, souvenirs are available for pick up at Showroom Mama. The self-service storefront consists of a plastic safety curtain that mimicks a spreadsheet grid. Customers may retrieve purchased objects on site after offering casual proof of donation to the store minder. In addition, artist fees and production budget for the work have been pooled and then equally re-distributed amongst collaborators. Based on trust, informal and imperfect financial radmin[3] emerges. These structures of good faith are made possible by already-existing kinship structures within the active cell as well as by the gluing-together that arises in post-disaster or disaster contexts. Those who inhabit a shared suffering are often more capable of offering comfort in its aftermath.
fictioningcomfort.space/24hsouvenirshop /
Fictioning Comfort opening times: Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 17:00 – 21:00. The show is presented through the windows of the showroom and is viewable from the street. So no entry is required in order to see the works.

DUMAGUETE, NEGROS ORIENTAL -- The City of Gentle People is set to showcase their talents of local filmmakers in Negros Oriental with the upcoming SineMaDaCig Film Festival late Thursday afternoon at 5pm on May 11th, 2023 (Dumaguete local time) at the Silliman University Luce Auditorium in Hibbard Avenue, Dumaguete City, the said province.
The festival will present films produced by aspiring filmmakers from Metro Dumaguete College such as 'Luyo sa Pagbakho', 'Asin', 'Bidlisiw', 'Helen', 'Lapis', 'Ma, Balik Na', 'Sugal' and 'Ugma Damlag'.
Adding to the excitement, Baron Frederick von Geisler, a veteran actor from Angeles, Pampanga was confirmed as a guest judge at the event.
