Doc Mar: Anong gagawin mo sa birthday mo?
Me: Pupuntahan ko yung gawaan nung inuman, Doc.
Perhaps Doc Mar wanted me to do something purposeful and meaningful like what she does on her birthdays - charity, setting fingerlings free or bakhawan tree planting. I guess I'm too old to believe I could change the world. I am actually amazed that any human being could stay sane, like her, in a world we have now.
Still, I tried to enjoy my birthday, in the spirit of ending, four years from now - if I get lucky.

Ranmaru Kurosaki (All Star) Memorial
Memorial 02 - The two of you are idols

"Hey, Mister, you should hear this~ The shoot this time was really difficult, you see…!"
"I've heard that the ingredients and flavoring of oden are different depending on the region. Is this one Kansai-style? Kanto-style?"
"That seems hard to tell, indeed. Anyhow, could I get a Bailey's Milk?"
"Oi, you won't find that at a food cart. 'Sides, that's just wrong."
Camus looks at me begrudgingly. …This has become troublesome.
This all started 'cause of Shining; the old man came up with the idea for a show.
One fine morning, the four of us were tossed into a car and taken to some unknown place deep in the mountains. For three days, we were forced to survive together.
The four of us being put into a unit was already common knowledge, but this would serve as extra publicity of sorts.
Obviously, this lineup was never going to work out, and just when I thought that this hell of a survival shoot was finally over….
On the way back, Reiji was drivin' and got lost, and that's how we ended up at this oden cart at the foot of the mountains.
Maybe it's 'cause they were serious about the whole survival project, but the only piece of recording equipment we had was a video camera that was operated by hand.
We recorded footage as we saw fit on our way here, until the power finally ran out. Whatever, it was just footage of us on our way back, so it would've been cut during editing anyway.
The four of us sat in a line and took up all the space at the counter. The other customers… actually, there isn't even anyone else walking 'round the neighborhood.
"Hey, Ranmaru, which one is it? Kansai? Kanto?"
Oh, just shut up. It's the same food no matter what. Disregarding the rest of them, I start ordering.
"We'll start with beef tendon, chicken meatball, boiled egg, radish, and… ah, fish cake, deep-fried tofu, konjac, shirataki noodles."
"Hold on. You don't even have vodka, what is the meaning of this?"
Camus starts houndin' the old man minding the cart.
"Ranran, don't forget to order ganmo! If we're having oden, we gotta have that."
Reiji leans on the counter, resting his chin in his hands and giving me directions.
"So it's Kanto-style after all."
Ai decides he's figured it out on his own and nods to himself.
These guys….
"Sir, do as ya like for the rest."
"You got it." The man minding the deserted cart nods at us.
When our order arrives, Reiji takes his beer in one hand and stands up. Usually, Reiji is the one who's in charge of this sorta stuff.
"Alright, good work everyone these past three days! Now then, altogether~"
"Time to dig in."
"Wha—!?"
I put my hands together and, next to me, Reiji is taken aback.
"You got a problem?"
At any rate, this is the first decent meal we've had in three days.
"The ganmo is so good~! Aahhh, it's a great time to be alive~"
"Quit the chit-chat and just eat, Reiji. Once we're done, we're leaving."
"Waah, how scaaary…. But really, Ranran worked the hardest out of all of us for this shoot in the end."
"Geez…. Getting thrown into a slightly different environment is enough to turn you guys into big whiners. Particularly you two, Reiji and Camus."
Ai speaks up while taking small sips of his glass of water.
"Why you! Don't speak so arrogantly when you couldn't even start a fire!"
"But Camus, you also got Ranmaru to do it in the end. In this day and age of modern Japan, people who can create fire from nothing are simply unusual."
"Hmph. 'Unusual' people such as cavemen?"
"Yes, I suppose so."
"What the hell, you guys…."
Come to think of it, over the past three days, it was these two who passed the time nonchalantly even in the cold or on empty stomachs.
As a result, they were the ones who kept asking others to do things. And this is what I get.
I'm a little pissed off but…. I gotta fill my stomach first, so I ask the old man working the cart for extra chicken meatballs, radish, and fried tofu.
We came across the stall by chance, but the flavors have been enhanced by the broth, and it tastes delicious.
"In the end, it was basically Ranmaru and myself who gathered food. The remaining two of you were hopeless. In terms of mobility, even Syo and Natsuki would have been more help than both of you."
Just as Ai said, it was the two of us who did all the work of gathering food. I was the one who caught fish in the river in spite of the cold. He stood by the riverside, directin' me to where the fish were.
"Waaahhhh, Mister, did you hear that just now? I…! Even though I worked equally hard too~!"
Reiji starts kicking up a fuss about being treated too harshly by his coworkers, going on about not being shown kindness even though he's older and whatever. The old man silently places an egg on Reiji's plate.
"What? That ain't fair."
"Oh Mister, you're too kind…! Reiji here is deeply moved!"
He jumps up from his seat, his body swaying back and forth. Reiji's energy is gradually getting stranger.
His behavior's always been eccentric, but now he's completely drunk.
Maybe because he's feelin' the cold, but he quickly returns to his seat and leans in close to me.
"Heheh, drinking a lot~? By th' way, what are things like between you and Kouhai-chan?"
"Hah…?"
After emptying my glass, I had grabbed another bite of deep-fried tofu when my hands stopped unintentionally.
"She asked you to be her partner, right?"
"Hmm?"
"Just hearing about it now, huh?"
At Reiji's words, the other two show a sudden interest.
As Reiji grins at me, he takes a bottle of beer in hand and fills up my glass. Meanwhile, he's moved onto hot sake.
"Where the hell did you hear that?"
"Tee hee, I'm not telling~ Even though sweet Kouhai-chan asked you with all her might, seeing you act so cold towards her, I couldn't stand it~"
He probably got his information from… Ren or Masato. Damn the two of them.
At the live show the other day, that girl asked me to be her partner.
'Course I turned her down, but she kept running into me.
She was an absent-minded woman who I noticed was often getting into trouble.
"So, are you going to partner with her or not? Have you already given her your answer?"
"Ooh Ai-Ai, you're super interested now too, I see~"
Quit butting in only when it interests you.
"That has nothin' to do with it. And if you're so interested, one of you guys pair up with her."
"Oh Ranran, no need to be so bashful. C'mere, you!"
"Hrrrk!"
As I move for more of the fried tofu, Reiji starts hitting my back mercilessly.
Knock it off. Anyway, this tofu is really hot.
After that, following a lot of quarrelling, the owner announced that it was closing time so we decided to leave.
"The night breeze feels so good~"
Since Reiji has had a lot to drink and can't drive, we are going on foot.
"I wonder where the station is."
"Even if we reach one, we don't know if we'll be able to get on a train. I would call a taxi, but…."
"This deep in the mountains, we can't even get a signal. What should we do with the car we used to get here?"
"I don't know."
Behind me, I can hear Camus and Ai muttering about something.
Next to me, Reiji has his arms spread wide, walking on the edge of the curb on the side of the road.
"Ranran, didn't you say you had a license?"
"Only for a motorcycle. 'Sides, that's outta the question 'cause you made me drink too."
"For a pair of adults, you two really are stupid. You don't even have a plan?"
A voice speaks up from behind us.
"Hey, hey, it's okay from time to time! I mean, we hardly get the opportunity to go on walks together under a starry sky like this."
"I've seen enough of you these past three days."
Camus grumbles aloud as he looks up at the sky.
"Ouch, so cold~ But in those three days, we've forged an honest relationship with everything laid bare, haven't we?"
"Don't spout such nonsense. Besides, you were the one who pushed me into the river first."
"Hah, serves the count right."
"The suit took a long time to dry."
We whine and complain as we keep walking the streets, not knowing where they will lead.
"Oh, speaking of, we're having a meeting tomorrow about the unit song. I wonder if we'll make it back before then."
Maybe the walking has helped him sober up a bit, but Reiji says that aloud as if he's suddenly remembered.
That's right. We scheduled a meeting to talk about the unit song.
"Gotta put up with seein' all of your faces again tomorrow…."
That means I'll be seeing that absent-minded woman's face again too.
As if seeing these three isn't troublesome enough. …What a pain.
Just as I was thinking that, before I knew it, the sky in front of me started to lighten up.
"Tomorrow, huh… More like today."
You gotta be kidding me….
"Okay everyone! Let's run towards the sun!"
"You can run on your own."
"Mm, it seems we've finally made it to an area with reception."
With the morning sun pouring over us, we quietly make our way home.

♢ - ❝ Nah ah. Table's full. You know the rules. ❞ No card counting for you today.
the casinos were always among his first go-to places when visiting the region, whether it was a mini vacation or duty-related – it's endlessly fascinating how the atmosphere, habits and culture differed from the game corners back in kanto and johto. in addition, it's always amusing to run into old acquaintances. of course, that's not the entire reason archer chose this place in particular.
" is this how you commonly greet your overseas visitors? " of course, he has to subtly lean against the table to be as much of a nuisance to his sort-of friend as possible, twirling a poker chip between his fingers. he brings the glass of vodka sour back to his lips, giving a seemingly nonchalant shrug. Jason is not ENTIRELY sure why they had to go to fantasy Kanto, if it IS fantasy Kanto, but here they are drinking tea while Sydney has a beetle battle with a guy who looks like a villain of the week and the sky is a raging purple vortex of doom.
"Would you like more snacks?" Asks the guy who is totally a maid and servant and not at all a spy, please don't mind the very conspicuous red gem from which he can instantly pull a spear longer than Jason is tall. He's very pretty and polite and so very much not watching the white haired guy in fancy silks get covered in grass stains as he cheers loudly for 'Charlotte' the purple bug to beat the exoskeleton off the other purple bug.
Alfred is despairing somewhere back home over his cross-dimensional grandson.
"Got fruit juice?" Jason asks, because Roy is trying to be the nice guy instead of the completely insane one. Jason feels the need for a hard drink which means Roy's clinging to his sobriety by the teeth. Sydney of course wrinkles his cute little nose at booze. He'll drink it if they give it to him, same as coffee, but he won't like it, and there's no reason to get a powerhouse like that wasted.
"Oh, uh, actually we do! Recently we procured a good shipment of juices from Mondstad's Dawn Winery! They've been branching into the non-alcoholic beverage arena in the last few years. Which uh, is great for me." The guy says playing the role of sheepish good oh so well. "Never got to liking the taste of the other stuff much myself."
"Waaah! How did you do that?!" The not-a-demon bug battler demands of some trick Sydney has pulled with the beetles. Jason doesn't look.
'Thoma' turns, just as Roy's zorua gets tired of its ball and pops itself out with a grumbled yip. The blind takes two seconds to process a sudden Pokemon staring at him, sets aside his serving tray on the rock they're using as a table, and drops to his knees to COO at it. "Sweet Archons a fox envoy! And you're so cute!!"
Yeah. Fruit juice. Because none of them are allowed vodka right now.
Things Fandoms do to you
So @misstrips and I have a nice little DC/Pokemon AU thing going with a splash of Vagrant Story and today as I was suffering the heat and welding together an after burner for a smaller sized crematory I had the thought of Jason, Roy and Sydney from that cross over ending up in Genshin Land.
You see the thing is Roy grew up in the Titans. The original Titans you know, with Dicky boy. And Short Pants was a feral monster with a smile that made you forget about the blood on his knuckles and the steel in his pixie toed boots. Roy was putting his arrows through people's joints before he could *roll* a joint, and he was there for all the stupid shit a bunch of teenagers with little parental oversight and way too much hero worship for their 'mentors' got into from orgies to war crimes to alien war crime orgies. He was there right at the start when they had to actually *vote* for the worst mentor in the League, before it became Ollie's official unofficial title for all time.
And he was there when Jason became Robin and the feral Dicky grew up and mellowed out and turned all that anger into a more positive 'I'm gonna big brother so hard Bruce chews his face off' direction, because what the Bats have is complicated and messy and a bit incestious at times but Bruce *started out* trying to be Dicky's big brother. Not his father. And then he *adopted* Jason. And none of the assholes ever sat down and actually talked about any of it.
But Jason was a good kid up until the whole thing in Africa. And now he's a feral monster of a vigilante and a half decent guy the rest of the time. Still an overly dramatic theater kid like, living undeadish proof that you can beat a kid to death with a crowbar and a bomb but you can't make him give up the *drama*.
Roy is an old hand with feral Gothamites though. He's got this. Between him and Lian they've got their gun loving muscle man on something of an even keel.
But then there's Sydney.
See Dick and Jay, they're feral. Domesticated species that went off the rails and have to be treated with care and respect until they remember that warm homes and hot baths and regular meals are all good things they can have. Sydney is wild. Sydney was never domesticated. Sydney has to be shown, and convinced, and reassured over and over that living inside walls is safe, that food he didn't gather himself isn't poison, that clothes are actually a requirement for dealing with humans. That humans are worth dealing with. Sydney will probably never *be* domesticated, but in a pinch and with some hard bribery he can fake it long enough for a pokemon tournament, or a trip through town, or even one time a visit to Lian's daycare.
And humans are just smart enough to look at Roy's wicked grin and Jason's bulging muscles and decide this is trouble they don't want to bother with most days, but Sydney tends to evade direct notice. He looks like a kid. He sounds like a kid. If you don't stare into pokemon crimson eyes and realize there's something completely inhuman staring back, you might be forgiven for accepting the evidence that Sydney is a kid.
Which is why when the three of them stumble out of the sudden wormhole in the woods, onto a perfectly picturesque dirt roadway leading to a city straight out of one of Lian's story books, Jason curses and Roy sighs. Because Roy was a Titan and this isn't his first alternate dimension, and Jason's been worse places. They aren't that troubled.
Until the guy with the huge sword and his friend in the eye patch give them the usual once over, stop at Sydney staring at a glowing little roadside statue, and all the alarm bells start ringing. Because they look at Sydney the way people who haven't seen the kid 'squish' Cypher agents, but have heard the horror stories and maybe helped clean up the residues do.
And *that* makes Roy want more explosive arrows.

Have these little quotes things where I make fun of characters.
———
Ash: *referring to the afterlife* if I could take you all with me... I wouldn’t.
Gary: Motherfucking bitch, You’d literally be the last one of us.
———
Ash: I said ‘Till death do us apart’ in my vow but we both know death ain’t keeping me away from you.
Raihan: I understood that before marriage was even a thought on the table, love.
———
Ash: I don’t have a caffeine addiction!
Misty: you won a years supply of coffee from the biggest coffee producer chain in Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn then ran out before the year was half way over-
———
Ash: why is my tranq gun getting taken away?
Alder: I’d rather avoid you getting sued by Trip and his family as much as possible.
Ash: if he got shot it would be his own fault!
Alder: no. No the fuck it wouldn’t. I don’t understand why the Council lets you have one anyways and this is me talking.
———
Gladion: why does everyone trust you so much!?
Ash: *realizing there’s literally no one around* why the fuck does Lillie still trust you after you abandoned her?
Gladion: I-
Ash: uno reverse, Bitch. Face your actions before you start preaching’ at me to face mine.
———
Ash: *in reference of Rose* he looks like one of those sketchy cars salesman with their hair slicked back and doing tax fraud.
Raihan: You! You. You get it.
Ash: of course I get it. I deal with Lance almost every day
Lance: *from another room* Hey!
———
Ash: *reference to Paul* I don’t know if I want to punch him or kiss him
Dawn: you have... the worst taste in men.
Ash: can’t argue there.
———
Ash: hey Brock? Can I ask you something?
Brock: hmm? Shouldn’t you be heading to the airport?
Ash: yeah but just answer this for me real quick.
Brock: Aight. Shoot.
Ash: is it okay for me to not want to... kiss a girl? Like at all?
Brock: oh yeah, absolutely my man. Everyone’s different.
Ash: okay... what about if I actually want to kiss a guy instead.
Brock: again. Completely normal. plenty of guys kiss other guys along with girls kissing girls. It could go platonic or romantic either way.
Ash: so I wouldn’t be... I wouldn’t be straight then? Right?
Brock; yeah no. Your sexuality would be classified as homosexual or, in short term, gay.
Ash: ah okay. Thanks for answering so fast! I gotta get going now.
Brock: have fun in Kalos, Ash.
———
Ash: *in reference to Alain* he’s so fucking hot and It’s unfair! I wanna marry that boy.
Ash; *finds about Lysander* my dad’s a villain. I don’t need my future father-in-law to be one too.
Ash: *meets Rose in the future* oh motherfu-
———
Serena talking to Miette: Ash is totally straight!
Ash: *chilling in a t-shirt that says ‘I’m gayer then Ho-Oh’ written in Kantonian in the background*
———
Ash: actually, now that I think about it, I got a rainbow feather from Ho-Oh my literal first day as a trainer.
Gary: and why are you telling me this-
Ash: the bitch knew I was gay before I did
Gary: -oh shit.
———
Ash: yo, Rai. My dad’s want to meet you. Since, ya’know, our one year anniversary is coming up and they haven’t yet.
Raihan: oh okay! Who are they?
Ash: .... Lugia and Tapu Koko
Raihan: ...
Ash: ...
Raihan: babe I love you so much but that’s literally the tamest thing you’ve told me.
———
Iris: *for the hundredth time that day* You’re such a little kid Ash!
Ash: *under his breath* murder means paperwork. Murder means paperwork. Murder means paperwork. Murder means-
———
Ash: *in reference to Gladion* he’s good looking but not enough for me to not kick his ass on sight.
———
Goh: I’m going to catch Mew!
Ash: *under his breath* hey Arceus? Yeah, I’m sorry that I called you a twink bitch last night-
———
Goh: I chose Mew as my starter.
Prof.Cerise: I don’t think that’s a-
Ash: No. No. Let him be stupid, this will be a good learning curve for him. *to Goh* alright then. Let’s do this.
———
Gary: *references to Paul, Alain, and Gladion* Ash has a very specific brooding type
Ash: *gets with Raihan*
Gary: well here I stand. On top of my hill, uncorrected like always.
Misty: what-
Gary: man broods but just... in a lighter and louder way.
Brock: a hot chocolate with vodka and extra whip compared to a group of battery acid’s.
Misty: why the fuck did that make so much sense.

🌙🍷💀 for all three of the kageyama sisters :))
For the ask meme here~
🌙 - What’s their sleep schedule like?
Kana🌼
Kana‘s days are usually pretty busy, regardless of when in her storyline she is, so she tends to wind down around 10pm and can be out like a light by 11:00 tops. She sleeps like the dead, too - though, if you purposely try to wake her up, she’ll do so pretty easily; on her own, she’ll usually sleep until around 6 or 7am. This doesn’t mean she’s a morning person, however, and just because she is awake doesn’t mean she wants to be awake. She’s a bit of a zombie for the first hour or two after getting up.
Reina🌸
Reina is an insomniac of the highest degree. She’ll be unwillingly awake well into the early hours of the morning - around 3 or even 4am sometimes - and will sleep fitfully until 10am or so. She’s a light sleeper, waking up at the slightest sound and then passing back again about a minute later, and generally never sleeps all the way through the night without waking at least twice. Because she’s grown so used to this over the years, Reina is also able to function of as little as three hours of sleep; she hates it, but she’s done it many times before and will inevitably do it again.
Hina💋
Hina sleeps in shifts. She’ll stay up late and then pass out, sleep for about five or six hours, go on with her day, and then take two-hour nap sometime in the early afternoon. She’s not exactly an insomnia, she just needs less - though more frequent - sleep than her sisters. (Her pokemon team is all cats or cat-adjacent, so she tends to curl up with them in a giant cat nap cuddle pile - which is great for staying warm in Hisui.) Hina is also a pretty light sleeper; not as much as Reina, but enough that “cat nap” is the perfect way to describe it.
-
🍷- How do they feel about alcohol?
Kana🌼
Kana doesn’t have a strong opinion on it either way, actually. She’s had it before, once or twice, but doesn’t particularly enjoy the effect - so she just... doesn’t drink. She doesn’t really care if other people do, though, provided they’re responsible about it.
Reina🌸
Poor Reina does drink, especially around the anniversary of her sisters’ disappearances. Vodka is her drink of choice once she’s out of the Kanto/Johto/Sinnoh part of the world and Shochu isn’t as readily available. She makes sure to be safe about it, but Reina drinks to get get drunk so she can sleep or forget or both, but it doesn’t really help; still, it got so bad for a while there that she was very nearly a full-on alcoholic. Thankfully she was able to come back from it, and it never got as far as it could have, so she does try to keep a sharper eye on it than in the past.
Hina💋
Hina drinks upon occasion, though she’s never been further gone than giggly and tipsy. She’ll have a couple of drinks at celebrations (festivals, events, after parties, weddings, etc.), and she mostly just treats it as a social thing. She enjoys being buzzed around people she likes because it makes things more fun than she’s already having, but she has no desire to get much drunker than that, or to drink outside of social events.
-
💀 - How do they feel about horror movies?
Kana🌼
After living in Hisui for like, fifteen years, Kana is barely afraid of anything anymore. She was always pretty chill about horror movies to begin with; for as much as her love of metalcore and emo music matches her sisters’, horror movies were always more the kind of thing she’d let play in the background while she was doing something else. After returning home to present day, though, she might have to ease herself back into them - especially the gorier ones like slashers.
(Seeing her husband get ripped apart by a rampaging alpha pokemon while defending the settlemnt left her with a weird PTSD mix of desensitization to and visceral terror of graphic depictions of violence and dismemberment.)
Reina🌸
In true metalhead fashion, Reina loves horror movies. She likes to turn the lights off and wrap up under a blanket on the couch to watch at least two horror flicks back to back. (If she has a partner, she’ll snuggle up with them~) They don’t really scare her per se, but she’ll get pretty into the more intense parts, staring intently at the screen in anticipatory silence - she’ll jerk back at any jumpscares during these parts just because she’s so focused. She’ll also try not to talk through the movie too much, but she’ll happily let out quiet encouragement to the Final Girl and a triumphant little ‘yessss!’ when they get away.
Hina💋
Hina is the kind of person you see at horror conventions, dressed up as either the sexy, short-skirt version of the killer, or covered in fake blood and gore to look like the killer’s victim. She loves horror movies just as much as Reina does, but she’s more obvious about it; she’ll talk at the screen to try and warn the characters of the monsters right behind them, she’ll yelp and jump at all the scares or sometimes boo them if they “aren’t scary enough!” Sitting with her on the couch during horror movie night is dangerous because you might just wind up with a bowl of popcorn accidentally tossed at your face, of she’ll be climbing into your lap. (She isn’t really all that scared, but she loves the thrill and the adrenaline rush makes her giggly - even after years in Hisui, because the horror is behind a screen and safely contained, so movies are a nice escape from the shit she’s lived through for real.)

stitch! vine buddy! how's it going?
got a question - what are the gaang members' (+ kanto's) favorite drinks?
and who's most likely to go all "ain't no laws"?
sending love <33
Blue!! Hi blue hope all is well :) couple things: I look so cute in this gif, not even ashamed to admit it, and the fact that you want me to include Kanto warms my cold heart you have no idea. *sniffles*
This is a good and difficult question… but I will do it for the vine (“ooo!”)
For the purpose of this question, I will stick to mixed drinks, no beer or wine or claws… they’d all drink claws so you know… let’s mix it up! Also, I’ll have you know I did extensive Buzzfeed research for this question. Hope it’s up to your standard.
Aang: Frozen margarita. It tastes like a slushy! He loves it. But he often forgets there’s alcohol in it and well… it only takes half a drink to really get him drunk.
Sokka: He tries to be a “cool drink” drinker, but he can’t help but have a fruitier beverage and he’s not ashamed to admit it. dirty shirley, mai tai, daiquiris, and others he loves to drink while out and about.
Suki: She seems like a vodka cranberry drinker to me. When she goes out, she wants to have fun and a vodka cran will get her there!
Katara: Hmm. She seems like a vodka soda (for my midwesterners, POP)/vodka tonic. She goes for something chill, tame, refreshing. It’s also something she can casually drink without feeling like she’s gonna get plastered. Sometimes her friends get her to drink more/drink other drinks, that’s when things get a little crazy.
Zuko: He’s an old fashioned or whiskey sour kind of drunk. It looks like he likes to drink fancy drinks but really those are the only names of drinks he remembers.
Toph: Long island iced tea. She basically asks for all the alcohols in a cup to get drunk as fast as possible. If she’s looking for a casual drinking situation, whiskey, neat is a vibe. She also buys tequila shots for everyone to take.
Kanto (lmao): Jack and coke. He looks like he’s wanting to start a fight, and he totally is. After that, he’ll just drink whatever Toph is drinking lol.
And it might come as a shock to some, but ALL of them go “Ain’t no laws.” Toph and Kanto may be the face of the law, they don’t care LOL.
Those are my thoughts, but I am happy to hear other people’s input! Thank you kindly for the ask, blue. Truly a pleasure to answer this for you :) Have a fantastic day!
……
Ask me anything, but most ask about my ATLA ships: Taang, Zutara, Sukka, and Kantoph (Toph and Kanto lol).
#atla#gaang#aang#sokka#suki#katara#zuko#toph#kanto#headcanons#my asks#thanks for the ask!#blue#this is actually canon#the gaang told me what their go to drink is#lmao#did I actually google buzzfeed articles for this?#yes yes I did

Let's Channel All Our Sadness Into THis
Continuation of a Tumblr Prompt, "I don't want to feel this anymore. I want to be numb." Heart has recently been torn to shreds so might as well make something out of it, right?
'I remember it hurt, watching her hurt,' is a line from some movie that continues to run through Aang's head as he watches Toph pretend to listen to the conversation that is going on around them. They're sitting in the living room of Sokka's apartment listening to his latest encounter with Zuko's sister.
She must feel him staring at her cause one second her eyes are trained towards the ground, unfocused and empty, and the next she looking in his direction. They stare at each other for a few seconds before she drops her gaze to her lap and picks at the hole in her jeans. It's been a week or two since the breakup with Kanto and she has slowly been withdrawing into herself. Katara had to actually show up to Toph's place and physically drag her to Sokka's. Normally, they see each other every other day or so since they live so close to each other, but none of them had seen her in days. She hasn't said anything since she greeted them all when she got here.
When she had announced their relationship several months ago, it was a shock to the group, but Kanto had quickly found his place among them, and became close with them all. So, when Toph had mumbled one night they broke up when she was asked where he was, it was a bigger shock to everyone.
"...What do you think, Toph?" Aang's attention is pulled from staring at her to Sokka. He isn't sure what the question was and he's sure Toph doesn't know either. She glances up at the group and senses that they're all waiting for her reply and the clear attempt to pull her into the conversation and include her somehow.
"What?" she asks, raising an eyebrow.
"I said that we should go see a movie, we were thinking about either Old or Free Guy."
"Oh, uh. I don't know," she says, standing up slowly, " Listen, I'm going to head home. I've got some stuff to work on," she trails off and grabbing her coat, she heads towards the door. The rest of the group look around at each other, and Aang quickly stands up, beating Toph to the door.
"Yeah, I'm going to head home, too. I have work in the morning, so I'll walk with you, T.." She doesn't say anything in acknowledgement but waits at the door as he quickly says bye to everyone and grabs his coat.
Once they're out on the sidewalk, the only sound is their feet on the pavement and Toph's sniffling every few moments. Aang stuffs his hands deep in his pockets to protect them from the cold and racks his brain to try and think of something that could possibly bring her out of her head a little bit.
Right when he opens his mouth to say something, she cuts him off, "You didn't have to come along and babysit me."
"I'm not babysitting you," he says but his tone makes it sound like a question.
"I know you all think I'm a fucking wreck. It's evident in the way you guys talk to me," she keeps her face pointed down and clicks her cane against the pavement. He didn't realize they had been talking to her any differently, but now that she mentions it, he can see it. How they carefully pick topics that steer clear of relationships or something that might have involved Kanto. "I just need time to deal with it," she says, her voice low and sounding so dejected and tired.
"Yeah, I'll go check on her," Aang says into the phone before hanging up with Katara. That night they left Sokka's apartment, she had gone downhill quickly. He knew the breakup between Toph and Kanto had been bad, but he didn't think it would ever get this bad. She had began to refuse to see anyone or answer any calls or texts. Needless to say, everyone is worried.
As he waits for the elevator to open onto her floor, he starts to think about how he is going to go about talk to her. She isn't the easiest person to read or get to open up about her feelings so it will definitely take some care and consideration.
He knocks at her door a few times, but when he doesn't receive an answer, he tries the knob and finds it unlocked. Carefully, he opens the door and is immediately hit with the smell of alcohol and the sight of Toph sitting on the couch with her head in her hands, a bottle of alcohol of something sitting on the floor next to her foot. She doesn't even acknowledge the fact that he has just walked into her apartment.
Taking a deep sigh, he shrugs off his jacket and hangs it on the hook by the door and walks over to the couch to sit beside her.
"You don't need to come check up on me, Aang."
He casts a quick glance around the living room and adjacent kitchen and sees the empty bottles, take out boxes, and clothes strewn about the counters and floors. "Yeah, obviously I don't. You seem to be handling the break up well," he answers.
Toph lifts her head and shoots him a glare, her eyes bloodshot and she has fresh tear tracks on her cheeks, "Fuck you, Aang. I don't need your fucking charity check ups or conversation. I told you that the other night," she snatches up the bottle from the floor and starts to pace around the living room, taking a swig as she goes, "Just let me deal with it in my own way."
He watches her face and notices how she doesn't even grimace when the liquid goes down her throat. She wipes her mouth with the back of her hand and stands by the window like she is looking out and shakes her head slightly.
"It just hurts, you know?" she whispers. "I never knew something could hurt so fucking bad." She abruptly turns away from the window, a look of anger on her face now. "I mean, he says all this fucking bullshit to me and how I'm the best thing that ever happened to him and the next fucking week, it's like, 'Oh, I found someone else to stick myself in'," she takes another swig. "I don't mean anything anymore and obviously just something he can throw away after he's done! 'I never liked you like that, Toph. I never thought you were funny or smart or pretty, I just needed something to do'!" she yells and throws the bottle at the wall, shattering it.
Aang tenses when the bottle makes contact with the wall and when he looks back at Toph, he sees that she has her head in her hands and her shoulders are shaking with her sobs. He stands up and goes to her, wrapping her in his arms.
"I don't want to feel like this anymore, Aang. I just want to be numb," she says so quietly, he almost doesn't hear it. "I should have known better than to give myself completely over to someone. I mean, I fucking watched you get your heart shattered by Onji and I swore I would never let someone hurt me like that."
Aang tenses when she mentions Onji. Although it had been a few years since they had broken up, the subject was still a little sore for him. His first love had broken his heart and then gotten with the guy who had tormented him in high school.
"Does it ever go away, this feeling?" she asks, burying her face in his chest.
Taking a deep breath, he considers her question. Although it had been years, every now and then, the plaguing question of 'Why wasn't I good enough' or 'What did he have that I didn't' haunts him at night when he is lying alone in bed at night.
It takes him a moment to answer, to steady his voice, "I think it does. It just takes time, Toph," he whispers to her. He leans down and kisses the top of her head. He can feel the way her tears are starting to seep into his shirt, making the material stick to his skin, but he doesn't mind. He'll stand here for hours with her if it means she won't be alone with her thoughts.
He ends up staying the night with her, and when she finally passes out, he starts to clean up her place, throwing bottles in a trash bag he had gotten from under the sink. He cleans up the mess she made from throwing the bottle at the wall, and discovers that she had done this at least 3 more times, which explains why her apartment smelled so bad.
Around 2 am, he finally collapses on her couch and places an arm over his eyes. The reminder of Onji that Toph had given him earlier that day was sticking with him. He remembers how raw that pain was, how it stole the breath from him every few hours and brought him down to his knees. He wouldn't wish that pain on anyone so knowing that his best friend is hurting that way is hurting him.
He wakes up around 10 am to the sound of Toph rummaging quite loudly through the fridge. Rubbing a hand over his face, trying to wake himself up, Aang sits up on the couch and looks over towards the kitchen. Toph is in a bralette and shorts, something she normally wears around the house. At first, the rest of the group were kind of scandalized when they discovered this, but after a while, it became normal to see her dressed like that.
"What are you looking for?" he asks.
"There was a bottle of vodka in here yesterday," she mumbles.
Taking a deep breath and stealing himself for this argument, "I threw it out." Toph stops looking for the bottle and slowly stands up, turning her face over to him.
"You did what?" her voice is low and deadly. Aang visibly swallows but lifts his chin and chest in fake confidence, which he realizes is kind of stupid since she can't see him no matter what he does.
"You're drinking yourself to death, Toph. It's not health-"
"How I choose to handle this fucking breakup is none of your goddamn business, Aang," she yells, walking from the kitchen into the living room, pointing a finger at him. "You weren't any better, so I don't want to fucking hear it."
Aang stands up from the couch and moves towards her, "It is my business if you're self-destructing, Toph. I'm not watching you go down the hole I went down, it's not safe."
"Safe?" she screams. "Are you fucking kidding me? What's not safe is you throwing out my shit."
He takes a deep breath and places his hands on her shoulders, aiming for a calm demeanor, "Go get dressed. I'm taking you to breakfast."
"I don't want to go anywhere with you right now."
"Do it, before I fucking make you do it," his voice is low and steady. She knows that when he puts that tone in his voice he isn't screwing around. Toph crosses her arms over her chest and chews on her lower lip for a moment. After a moment of pouting, she huffs loudly and stalks towards her bedroom.
The tension drains from Aang's shoulders. He really has no desire to go out in public right now, especially with the mood that she is in, but his duty to her as her best friend out weighs his personal needs.
They're both sitting in a booth at one of the local diners and he can feel the anger still radiating off of Toph. The waitress picks up on it too because she cuts herself off halfway through the specials, and just scurries off to get their drinks.
"Go on, say it," he says.
"Fuck you for making me come out like this," she says, her arms crossing over her chest. "I was doing just fine, you know. I was handling it."
"Drinking yourself into oblivion everyday so you don't feel it doesn't count as handling it, Toph"
She just snorts and turns her head away, her lips pursed. Their waitress comes and drops off their drinks and quickly takes their food order and scurries off again. Aang thinks they're going to spend their meal in tense silence, but when he glances up at her, he sees the fight going out of her and tears swelling up in her eyes.
"Why are you even doing this, Aang?" she whispers.
He doesn't even realize he is doing it until he is out of his seat and sliding in next to her. His arm comes around her shoulders and he pulls her to him, letting her rest his head against his shoulder.
"Because, I remember this pain. I remember how bad it hurt, how it felt like someone had shot a hole right through my chest and left me to bleed out. Because, I can see how hard you're trying to be angry about the situation, but I know you're sad and dying inside." Toph turns and buries her face into his shoulder, hiding her tears from the rest of the world. He rubs his hand up and down her arm, trying to soothe her.
The waitress comes back with their food and sees the way Aang has his arm around Toph and gives him a sympathetic smile and quietly sets their food on the table before walking off.
"Come on, eat something. I doubt you've had a proper meal in days," he mumbles to her.

Pokken is probably the biggest Pokemon let down in the history of Pokemon let downs.
I'm a passionate guy. I love and hate things pretty hard for many reasons and those reasons usually run deep even if they are only a few words. However, sometimes I'll have a passion so deep that it is specifically against the common consensus and will be viewed as "flawed" or "wrong" or "stupid" or "something I should get over". The point is this is one of those things that every time I explain it to my friends who like Pokken that they get defensive and tell me I'm wrong. Thankfully most of the times opinions can't really be wrong now can they? Firstly I would like to express I am not a game designer in any way and my opinions are just that. My opinion and if you don't like it that is fair. We can all live in the same space and not have to come to blows over these things. So why is Pokken the biggest let down at least for me in the world of Pokemon games? That's because Pokken is not what I expected and what it could have been. When I say it could have been better and possibly better than almost every single fighting game known to man as well better than even Smash than you can only assume my expectations were so high on this game that you could say it is my fault for putting them on the highest level and then being sad when the game doesn't even come to half of what I wanted. Let me take you back to the first time I saw a Pokemon fighting game. For many of you, you already know or have seen the game but maybe don't know the name. That game is Pokemon: Type Wild. Type Wild is basically like every single other fighting game in that you get a roster (9) of different fighters who all fight in their own style. Simple enough to get where anyone can pick it up but few could master. It is a simple game that strikes desire into the heart of fighting game lovers. Which I happen to love fighting games. I may not play the greatest amount of them but I am ungodly at Bloody Roar 3 to a point where picking up a controller is like riding a bike. Short side story. My first time drinking I played a drinking game with friends where if you win you take a shot of hard liquor. We had 4 different types of hard liquor such as Sake, Vodka, Whiskey, and something else I can't remember. Eventually I had won so many games that not only was I shit face to the point of barely able to sit up straight, but I drank so much alcohol that by the time I was half way through the roster people quit because I was still winning and they haven't even felt a buzz yet. We ran out of liquor that day. Point is I love fighting games so I for years hoped that we would get a solid fighting game either like a 2d styles Street Fighter or a 2.5d style in the styles of Tekken or Bloody Roar. Instead we got Pokken. So I'm sure you would ask "what is wrong with the game. I like it." and that is just fine. You can like whatever you want and we can again have different opinions. Hell even if you like a thing people think is bad or a guilty pleasure that's also fine. I love infomercials and they are stupid as hell. You are allowed to like bad things. Let's be honest though. Pokken even if a good game does have flaws. It's not perfect by far and in those flaws I find that I don't for its own merits actually like the game. This again does not make it bad. Here are the things I find bad with the game in no particular order. Fights are too short I hate the switch style of fighting and it tends to make certain characters like machamp unrealistic in that he now needs a ranged attack like everyone else thus he becomes like everyone else. This is bad because you have no choice when it'll switch styles as it sometimes happens randomly (or so I assume, it has been a hot minute since I played but I'm pretty positive it happened without me "triggering anything) It's all style and no real substance. It looks pretty but it is kind of just a flash in the pan when you've seen all the moves over and over and over again. As stated before, all the characters are pretty much the same. What I mean by that is all have a long ranged move and basically feel the same. Yes there is some rock
paper scissors but when machamp needs a long ranged move and you just make it punches then it feels more tacked on and the characters don't really shine much. The roster looks alright at best but since there are 2 mewtwos and 2 pikachus it just feels lack luster. Also the dog and the chandelier don't seem to fit. The little support Pokemon don't seem like they add that much. Lastly and the most important part is that the game seems to lack real actual depth like Pokemon games do. That's the real problem for me. You have the biggest franchise in the world and finally make the biggest spin off for it and you make it lack substance? You might be thinking "well what would you do to make the game better?" and I'm glad you hypothetically asked in this scenario I just made up and forced upon you. There are 2 ways to make a good Pokemon fighting game. One is a rip off and the other is my own creation so to speak. The first is simple. Just make another smash. Make the Kanto region its own smash areas with instead of pokeballs and items and so on (you could cut down on all the extra stuff) and focus on making a pokemon with its own move sets. You could give them each their own moves and just make them fight like they would in smash. Is it a unique game? No, but the roster would be gigantic and it would look dope having a person fight as magikarp against a giant group of people. Also think of the amount of Amiibos they could make. The game wouldn't end there. It would get DLC for each region with new pokemon every time. The problem with this is the roster would be 1000 large and counting. So making this, as fun as it would be, seems unrealistic. So let's instead go with my idea. My idea is more or less the same as the actual game but with fighting in it. What that means is you would take every main important mechanic and throw it into this game. Then you would take the game and make it into a fighting game with those mechanics. Let's start small. First we need a story to get the game rolling right? Let's make it simple. It is a fighting tournament where fighting types can come together and fight in the arena. You know, like the episode of where Ash had primeape fight a bunch of dudes. Instead of in general fighting in a ring, they would have a stage where fights would be held. The story is this is where whoever shows up wants to be the best. Let's say each character is going to also be it's own "person" with it's own personality. That way we can have entry comments when they start the fight because they are talking to each other. You can make rivalries happen, you can also in general say these are the best fighters of their kinds. You have options to make this into a grander stage than the original did by making this the first ever tournament of its kind. That's the setting but we need a roster to fill the game out. So the game could start small in that it generally would have a roster specifically of only fighting types. This means that at most we would if only using final evolutions have without different forms, and megas about 32 different characters. Suddenly we now have a larger roster compared to the actual one we got. sure it is only fighting types but if we only have fighting types no one can complain about not getting their favorite. However, I'm not gonna lie, the roster looks like it lacks main villains and leaving out legends kind of ruins the whole every fighting type and lastly, with what happened to dexit I'm sure people would be mad if they can't use megas as well. So let's instead change that roster to have EVERY single fighting type in the game. (only last evolutions though. Don't need no babies and first forms in here) Now we have a total of 52. Let's also say for fairness sakes that some characters have non fighting forms. Let's add those in if they are before a mega evolution changes them. That's 3 more for a total of 55 in the roster. Now let's also have to force a couple more in there for "reasons" such as it is Pikachu who has to be in every single game. So now it is 56 total and since in general
arceus can every type the roster would be a total of 57 characters at the end of the entire thing. That puts the current roster to shame. Sure we miss out on fan favorites but in the end 57 unique characters? That is one hell of a difference. Yeah they are all fighting types but still. It is 100% better than what we currently have. Also this can be done. There are fighting games with over 60 characters and I'm not talking about a roster of "forms" like in dragonball z games where you can change your move set that is basically the same as other peoples. I'm talking about games such as smash with 58, tekken tag tournament 2 with 59, mortal kombat armageddion with 62, def jam fight for ny with 72, naruto ultimate ninja storm with 119. Suddenly you're up there with the big boys. (at least numbers wise) Some people might say that the game would probably have bad graphics and to that I say it has a simply solution. Make the game 2d. Many people would probably say that the best thing about Pokken is that it looks "tight as fuck" or something in that regard but we all know that 3d doesn't make everything better. Old school Street fighter games look pretty good with smooth animations and also fantastic backgrounds and a lot like anime compared to now which just doesn't look the same. Good in its own ways but different. You can have more things in a game with less "graphics" while looking super great while doing so. It wouldn't lessen the game and would make future versions of the game able to add more into the game as well. It would also add for many more things to be added as well. Which is really good since in general the game is supposed to be deep and not taking the game to look amazing means you can add more into it and allow for more cool things. Let's not get into the nitty gritty just yet because there are a few things I'd like to add. Let's take a step back to the roster. Let's say that they started off with just the first gen leading us to have a total of 9 different characters on the roster. That's not bad. This leaves us open to a ton of DLC and also alternate "costumes" to make our characters look better and more in line with who they want to be. The rosters itself would also have 9 unique characters with different strengths and weaknesses compared to a generic roster who is small but also kind of the same. You could also allow for a stage for every single type to shine through aesthetically. Sure we got some nice looking stages but imagine if we had one based on each type. A normal stage on a beach where it is sandy and has a nice tropical sunny feel to it. The only thing that would make that better is if the beach had some interaction to it. What matters in the game is the style of play. Pokken allows for arena battles as well as side to side battles. Both are fine but would make you have to specifically have one main style of art and dimensions. I think that side to side is better in 2d while arena I believe can only be in 3d. This to me means that we would have a side to side fighter but if for example we did get a 3d arena match then we would get hazards on the field. There was a play at doing so in the actual game where there would be spots where vines and other explosions pop up from the ground but imagine an actual 3d arena where you can get thrown into trees, or walk on hot lava spots or something akin to that. Imagine all the actual things you can do with moves such as spikes, or actual entry hazards. The game would take on more depth and allow for cooler fights. Even then having things in 2d isn't that bad. Having the ability to actually fight in a beautiful place with the character you want there allows for better visuals. The real shame is we could have gotten a battle area for every single type of Pokemon as well as a call back to the ???? typing where it would randomly choose a place to fight. This is all visual things that would make the game pretty but the real depth of it comes from how the game is constructed. That is by it being like actual normal main stream games. So what does it mean to
be a main stream game? Let's quantify to some degree what Pokemon is. It's a jrpg with the largest party roster ever. It's a simple one on one battle style but in essence you got the fighter, the ninja, the mage, and probably a few other things. They just sometimes look like eggs or a dinosaur. Either way roster is huge. The second thing is the simplicity of type matchess and even added abilities. Stats are also a part of the game while equipment and moves that you can customize out of a set list are also there. Personalities and breeding make their way into the game. There are so many things that you can do with normal Pokemon that just allows for the most unique playthrough of the game in any way you want and matches against real people have strategies and styles you might not find everywhere else. That is unless you're not playing random children and are playing adults who use the same stuff over and over except that one guy who used pachirisu but that guy is a maverick. So how would all this work? Simple. Just do the stuff they already do. Let's look at Pokken itself real quick. You have the attack and defense stats that in general make you deal or take less damage. You have your ultimate gauge and your support gauge. Pretty lack luster stuff seeing as we get more in the regular stats of Pokemon compared to it. We have special and regular attack. Special and regular defense. Speed and Lastly HP. That's where Pokken ends in customization. Lackluster in comparison as well when you look at all the stuff you can do in regular Pokemon to build a bond with it. So how do we build into the ultimate experience that we never got but wanted? Easily. Again just do like the game. Pokemon has a couple things that it does for you to customize your single little buddy to take on anyone. Let's look at those things. You have levels, types, items, breeding, evs/ivs, abilities, unique movesets, specific stats. That doesn't seem like much but having 8 different things to do with their own large amount of things is huge. To start with lets go with levels. Levels will be exactly that. They will increase the more you use a specific Pokemon. Not to say that the character would change and then have you start at a lower level, but in general you have the 100 levels and the stats on the character would grow to be that of what you finally get. You would also in PVP be matched up to an enemy of an equal level since you would have played that character and at least that long for that level to exist on the character you are using. This means that stats would also come into play. Stats would act like they normally do however moves would dictate that thing. Normal attacks would work with attack strength while special moves that you add onto your character would use the special stat. Not moves that are special attacks but any and every move. So extreme speed and thunderbolt would both use the special stat while a normal punch or kick would be your attack. This would make moves matter and make you want to make the move set how you would like it. Moves and customized move sets would be next on the list. This would allow for you to actually help your character and yeah this would mean that some characters are more optimal in some ways. If you wanted a move based machamp over an attacker than you have the choice and sure, some characters would be horrible with special attack but in the end all moves are special and would allow certain characters who are long range attackers such as Sirfetch'd who has a sword have to get closer to a machamp who uses focus blast to hit. This would allow for actual move customization too so that things such as toxicroak who uses poison moves to really shine since if we are making the moves than we would in general also wanna add the typings into the game as well. Types would allow for certain Pokemon to shine through more. Yes ghost fighting types would be busted, but thankfully there is only one and that would mean that you would want some anti ghost stuff on your character or it would make for you to have to actually
do normal attacks with a special attacker as they are even if named normal attacks not normal type. As in regular punches and kicks. Things like typing would also come into effect because that means the moves would be of the type and you can get added bonuses such as poisoning people and flinching and so on. Which means that abilities would be handy to fight certain people. If you play toxicroak then you are going to poison people with poison point. Which would go back to typing as an important thing since lucario is part steel. You could slow the opponent with electric moves. You could flinch enemies and so on. You have so many abilities to disrupt the enemy. This will make people go and make a huge deal on trying to perfect their roster of dudes they like to not only get skilled at them but also in general make them better. This is good because items and breeding are going to be a thing in the game. If ev's and iv's are in the game with breeding then that means you can actively max out a pokemon in ways you like. You can get points by winning fights and throw them onto a pokemon and just have like levels unlocked points for that pokemon. That way when you get good stuff for the process of breeding a new version of the character you get it in a way that actually benefits you when you choose a new nature and instead of having to grind even more each time you can just in general work hard while reasonably doing so. How would you get these items? That's simple. Either through constant grind which you are already doing or through mini games. Like the ones they had back in Pokemon stadium. People have wanted those again for such a long time. Even if they are small ones where it is training based it would be something fun to do to set off the monotony of grinding a better character all the time. So since everything is unique in that way how would the roster themselves work? It's big and it seems like we wouldn't be able to make them all 100% unique and as true as that is there is one thing to set them apart like you would in a normal fighting game compared to what it seems Pokken does. EVERY POKEMON HAS A UNIQUE FIGHTING STYLE BECAUSE THEY ARE FIGHTING TYPES. If we looked at the roster some of them are going to be in general a little strange but take it from the guy who is passionate about this idea that I can in some ways write down a style for each of them and that's just what I'm gonna do. Pikachu - Let's get the first and most obvious one out of the way and the most blatant problem in the only fighting type roster. Let's just say Pikachu libre was raised by some fighting types. Hawlucha to be exact and it got let in as an honorary member. It would be a fast attacker and have some good jump attacks. Primeape - A berserker style fighter who attacks very well but lacks real use of the special moves. It can still do them, but it may be open to failing. Like the trip mechanic in Smash cause fuck you it's funny. Poliwrath - A heavy hitter who does big attacks. Poliwrath doesn't have a style so much is just a big beefy dude. Would probably make him a little better at doing specials because of his lack of finesse and real inability to kick well. Machamp - Based on body builders and "able to know every fighting style" kinda makes machamp a little bit of an "eh" choice. Instead of making him fully aggressive and E Honda someone with 1000 punches we could also make him have special button inputs to pose and get power ups. This would make him actually stronger on specials if you wanted to do a special attacker or something else of the like. Hitmonlee - A kick boxer style where he would hardly use his hands. He would still be able to do special moves like the punches but in general this would mostly mean he would just kick normally and have extra blocks with his arms. Hitmonchan - If they can make steve fox do dodges with his feet then they can make hitmonchan the exact same way. Galarian Zapdos - Look, it's stupid that it is a fighting type but it is what it is. So let's just roll with it and say he does a lot of kicks.
Like can't really punch but would use his beak for pecks. They wouldn't be flying attacks but in general would allow for a little long range. Mewtwo - Our first non fighting type (not pikachu) to hit the scene and a real boss. See as much as Zapdos is a boss, Mewtwo would also in general be like the larger boss at the end. A real contender for difficult since his stats would push him a little over. The real threat is when you look at his mega form which would not require an item on the boss in the game and would allow him to not be stopped from this form. He also has a different move set meaning he is just in general a different fighter as well. You could also have it to where they don't even need the players to need to mega evolve and they just choose him. Heracross - This would be a little tricky as beetles generally just fling their enemy. He would probably have moves that did that while also being able to grapple well. His mega form would allow him to hit better like he normally does with multi hit moves and would probably have a better grab based move set. Hitmontop - Being short is its own special thing since he would be harder to hit with high attacks but he also has capoera style. Blaziken - Blaziken seems like it would be another strong boss in that it literally gets faster as the battle goes on and his mega does the same thing. It also has muay thai style fighting. Breloom - It's literally a kangaroo. It punches, it kickes really hard with its tail as support. It's a kangaroo. Hariyama - Besides Ehonda strikes it is also a sumo wrestler. So throws would be a thing it can do. Medicham - One of the more difficult to place styles. Its mega form would allow for also easy punch combos but I think this would be one of the more wonky styles of fighting. Each fighting game has a yoshimitsu style of fighter and I'm sure this would be it. Infernape - Monkey style kung fu. Loppuny - Loppuny is strange in that it is not a fighter. So it should have a generic not that strong looking style of fighting but when it mega evolves it learns Tai Bo and generic defense class style. Lucario - Also strange to place but could have something like Tai Chi or something of the like. Toxicroak - A dirty fighter and probably like that of a yakuza. Gallade - Would be really good at counters and uses a gentlemans style of fighting. Arceus - I don't know man, it's a horse. The people making the game would figure it out. Just steal the horse style from the JOJO fighting game or something. Emboar - Based on chinese symbols and also wrestling. This could be a grappler as well with a greco roman style and theme. Conkeldurr - This would have range over most of the others as well as strength, it would be slow moving but could swing fast. It also uses centripital force. Throh - It knows judo and would be good at grapples and blocks. Sawk - It knows karate and would be really good at strikes and counters. Scrafty - Would use headbutts and kicks. Nothing other than what it says since inner city youth generally don't have a fighting style. Mienshao - Shaolin style kung fu. Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion - Each would have the same style of fighting. The difference being is Cobalion would have average speed and attack while terrakion and virizion would be slower or faster while weaker and stronger. Keldeo - Would have a style like the others but with some variations to it. It would be kind of bad in comparison as it is not as old and skilled but it's resolute form would make the style come together and make it better. Meloetta - Would have a buff system like Machamp but could also change style to allow it to do better at fighting but lose the ability to make buffs Chesnaught - It's a noble knight. Give it a graceful style that doesn't fit its huge armor or make it a power house. The choices are up to the developer at that point. Pangoro - Big punches and wild swings. Like Poliwrath but handles different. Hawlucha - Luchadore style wrestling, but has a high jump allowing for aerial attacks. Crabominable - Just punches. It
can't do anything else but it should have strong hard to stop punches. Bewear - Based on bear wrestling and bear hugs. It is your modern wrestler. Since we won't have incineroar in the game this would be the closest we get to WWE style of wrestling. Passimian - Tackles and moving. It's a football player. What else would it do? Kommo-o - Honestly this one eludes me since it just is a fighting type and I don't think it was inspired type wise by anything. Buzzwole - Just like Pangoro and Poliwrath. Would just be a big buff fighter. Pheromosa - Would be a kick fighter like Jenny from Bloody Roar 3. Marshadow - Since it mimics it would just be the random fighter each time. Grapploct - A grappler. Sirfetch'd - Uses his spear/sword for doing long range styles of poke. Shield would help block better. Also is small. Falinks - What could it do? I have no idea. Zamazenta - It has a normal non shield form, and it has a shield form. It could be slower in non shield mode but also when in shield mode be harder to hurt. Urshifu - Urshifu has 2 forms. One which would be single strike which is precise and accurate trying to end the fight in as few hits as possible meaning dealing more damage or something like that while rapid strike form could just be an unending combo like Maxi does in Soul Calibur 2. The real thing to know is that in general certain pokemon could have unique abilities not explained. Such as better blocks where they take less damage to no damage compared to other fighters or even more damage even if at the same number or other things like that, This would also make the boss battles more unique. That's mostly how the game would be made. At the end of the day we lost out on what could be the most deep fighter ever made. What saddens me more is that had we gotten this game it would have probably made Nintendo do better with their online services. Either way we will never know what truly could have been.

So who in this is actually family? Like, we all know about Koga and Janine, but would his sister Aya (from the anime) feature too? And who else is family (Surge, Sabrina, other members of the league etc)? Also, I LOVE this idea (and toxicbolt) ☺️
Aya will definitely be in this Au since I really want to explore her character more since she didn’t get much of an appearance in the anime! She’s distant with her family but still acts like an Aunt to Janine. Surge is Koga’s husband but only got together a couple years after Janine was born. Sabrina while not blood related is one of Koga’s closest friends and acts as Vodka Aunt style relative to Janine. Koga or Surge isn’t related to anyone else in the Kanto-Johto leagues but they do conside them family. (But I think Giovanni isn’t the most trusted out of all of them) Surge is Volkner’s dad in this Au but Volkner moves to Sinnoh before Janine was born so she doesn’t really know him yet.
I might add more honestly later since I have a lot Headcanons for Surge’s family. Thanks for your interest in this Au! I really appreciate it!

Life of a Hacker - EP 1
Sa pitcher nandun chaser consist of; Ginebra na 4x4, The Bar Vodka, Smirnoff, at Red Horse Mucho. We made another pitcher of said liquor and continued where we left, Strega listened to me as I introduce myself to her. She doesn't speak that much pero she make sense na kapag slow ka sa pag pick up wala ka mapapala sakanya kasi sarcastic siya sa lahat ng bagay. Mag kasundo at nag ka sundo kami ni Strega kaagad. Feeling niya daw kasi nakita niya ung lalaking version niya sakin although mas matangkad ako sakanya hahaha!

Nasundan pa ung mga inuman namin kasama ung Liquor Fam, mas nag deepen ung friendship namin ni Strega. For me that time; my whole world revolved only to her kaya ako tong si tanga gumagawa ng paraan para lang makasama siya.
Sobrang nakaka miss haha!
Napansin nila yon. Na palaging si Strega ung bida sa kwento ko, na sa lahat ng bagay nag e-excel si Strega sakin. Lahat-lahat.

(All for Lys): ❤ Who was your starter Pokemon? ▲Who gave you your first Pokemon? ♤ What was the first Pokemon you ever caught? Are they still with you? ★ Who is a Pokemon professor/gym leader/etc. that you really admire? ✿ You want to be the best there ever was. The very best what?
Pokemon headcanons (Currently accepting) ❤ Who was your starter Pokemon? 💔 “Charmander, actually. When the Pokemon League System was first introduced to Kalos, there were no records of the now official Kalos Starters existing at the time, so the Kanto Starters were given instead. This tend to be the tradition, I remember hearing about the sightings of Froakie when I was in high school.”
▲Who gave you your first Pokemon? 💔 “My...father.”
♤ What was the first Pokemon you ever caught? Are they still with you? 💔 “Pancham. No, they are not. I released it immediately after catching it.”
★ Who is a Pokemon professor/gym leader/etc. that you really admire?
💔 “...If this is a stab at my ego, it’s working. Welp, time for a drink...”
✿ You want to be the best there ever was. The very best what?
💔 “Nihilist,” with that, he takes a swig of vodka...

DATING INFORMATION.
NAME : Shuntarou Chishiya THEIR PROFESSION : Team Rocket medic WHERE THEY CAN BE FOUND : Goldenrod City, any Rocket base he’s been called to, and occasionally Violet City. FAVORITE FOOD TYPE : Anything quick and easy to make. He appreciates culinary simplicity, but won’t turn down fancy meals, either. He has a soft spot for seafood, regardless of the complexity of the dish. FAVORITE ALCOHOLIC DRINK : For social drinking, beer is his go-to drink. If he’s looking to get absolutely hammered, anything with vodka is preferred. FAVORITE TRAIT : Intelligence or a mischievous streak. Chishiya likes people who can keep him on his toes and mix things up. WHERE THEY WOULD GO ON A DATE : He’s not too picky. Anywhere that isn’t overly formal is best, as he doesn’t own many dressy clothes, but overall, he’s fine with whatever. IDEAL GIFT : There aren’t many possessions that excite him, so no particular gift will really be better than any other. WHEN WILL THEY DRINK ALCOHOL : Typically to be social. It’s pretty customary for people in Johto and Kanto to drink with coworkers as a way to seem friendly, so Chishiya will do the same when invited. HOW MANY DATES UNTIL THEY GO TO BED : If the chemistry is there, just one. He’s not the romantic type, so sex is usually the goal of his dates, anyway.
TAGGED BY: @fracturedhues TAGGING: Anyone who hasn’t done this!
