People have been asking me for some time to properly explain the reasoning behind my "Bill is Dead" theory, and so that's what I've been doing for the past two weeks or so. i feel like halley is so often overlooked or dismissed because it's from that awkward in-between where the comets were just growing out of their easy, chart-topping love songs era and heading into their current era, and a lot of people aren't happy because bill wrote every song on the album (mind you none of the other members have said they were unhappy about this), but i think it's so interesting thematically. the use of a woman's perspective in some of the songs, the contrast between the gentle way bill sings and the at times chaotic instrumentals, the pure, raw emotion seeping from all of it. i don't think it's the band's greatest work by any means, but i do think it's a really interesting work of art and there's always something new i notice with each new listen-through.

KANGAROO PAW. Diggin’ out another one from the archives, back in 2019 at @kingsparkandbotanicgarden, shot in the middle of the day in the howling winds. Kings Park has one of the most astonishing collections of Kangaroo Paw i’ve ever seen, so many different colours and sub species that just go on forever. So beautiful.
