SUMMARY: When you’re born into Joseon slavery, you’ll stop at nothing to find a way out.

THIS MOVIE HAS EVERYTHING: Switches, abhorrent paternity laws, sparring, branding, fog fighting, crow dinners, greed, royal insanity, hunters, rock-throwing, questionable friendships, true friendships, robes, invasions, and loyalty.

HOT TAKE: The plot of this movie was swift and succinct, perhaps to the detriment of its believability. The action scenes were excellent, the cinematography was epic, and the resolution of the third act big-boss fight was one of the best I've seen in a while. Also, some great long-overdue comeuppance for a King that should have just shut the hell up.

That being said, our main characters were a little unmotivated, there were more 'Monty Python-esque' limbs severed than I was expecting, and some real hard choices to be made--ones I'm not sure I would have been strong enough to execute.

First, Rumor or Truth? Well, I think they're just (good?) friends that help each other with their point of view about different topics. They can know each other from past life(s) that can make one of them influencing the other. Rumor.

I've decided to add two questions - is the evidence real and why there are rumors.

First, about the evidence: There can be some things that were/are his? I do see it's a secret for some reason. They might have similar style in some way and that might be the reason there were rumors? I see the fans who made these rumors were overemotional. I also see some sort of tradition, so whatever the same/similar things were such as necklace/s, a hobby, or another thing is probably Rosé's way of finding herself? Unfortunately, I think Rosé's attaching easily to people and it can shows via her style/hobbies/etc. Their somehow connection AS ACQUINTANCES/FRIENDS just shows it in this way, via Rosé's expression.

About the reason why there were rumors: For publicity. They wanted at least one of them to have buzz and therefore, to win more money (possibly for Rosé). They just wanted Rosé to have this scandal. I can see the people who released it wanted her to make her group disband too, or to ruin Kang Don Won's career?

just wanted to share that stranger/secret forest s1, s2, and dongjae spin-off are 3 dramas i hold super dear to my heart.

these dramas aren't my first exposure to kdramas (and im very grateful they are, bc idt many can match that the standards set). but the way stranger sucked me in right from the start (im a huge thriller fan so. makes sense.) was insane.

the way i binged the whole s1, digested it, and then binged the whole of s2,, i think i was possessed LOL. to think that i only discovered this gem of a universe was through the little ad on tvn on dongjae. (thank you dongjae. my pookie ❤️)

i actually have no idea how to coherently organise my thoughts, bc i think a lot of what i have rn is just feelings. i love this universe so much and really, i can't wait for s3, s4, and even s5. (mr cho seungwoo promised an s5, so i will wait for an s5.)
