just wanted to share that stranger/secret forest s1, s2, and dongjae spin-off are 3 dramas i hold super dear to my heart.
these dramas aren't my first exposure to kdramas (and im very grateful they are, bc idt many can match that the standards set). but the way stranger sucked me in right from the start (im a huge thriller fan so. makes sense.) was insane.
the way i binged the whole s1, digested it, and then binged the whole of s2,, i think i was possessed LOL. to think that i only discovered this gem of a universe was through the little ad on tvn on dongjae. (thank you dongjae. my pookie ❤️)
i actually have no idea how to coherently organise my thoughts, bc i think a lot of what i have rn is just feelings. i love this universe so much and really, i can't wait for s3, s4, and even s5. (mr cho seungwoo promised an s5, so i will wait for an s5.)
i ran out of tags.

My top 10 Solo Leveling characters + explenation.
I know some of you may not agree (especially no. 10), but please don't hate me. I just like them a lot. This is my opinion. Feel free to tell me if I made a mistake or if I spelled something wrong! And feel free to tell me what your top 10 is, too!
Baek Yoon-Ho
I'll be honest, I love Yoonho. He's such a cool character. I love cats/tigers/panthers, all of them. I love the way he acts like an aggressive cat, the way he has cat traits and I love how he can transform into an awesome white tiger-like beast.
2. Lim Tae-Gyu
His personality just screams out sleepdeprived and cocky, but he is not. I love his cocky smile, even though he isn't. When I read the fact that his occupation before his awakening was tennis I came to love him even more. And you got his uniform design. It's awesome!
3. Kenzo Tanaka
I know he doesn't have a lot of screen time, but I love him. He really strikes me as one of those tough guys that are actually soft on the inside. And I love how he is so calm, unlike most other tough guys. He just strikes me as a really nice and caring guy.
4. Lennart Niermann
Lennart is awesome. His personality is awesome, his powers are awesome. I love him. He's such a soft and calm person. Every time he was on screen he made me calm. His powers, though. They make me wild! They're so cool! I mean, just look at that picture! Not to msntion the way he protected Thomas. He knew he wouldn't be a match against someone even stronger than Thomas, and yet he helped Thomas.
5. Min Byung-Gu
He strikes me as one of those softies everyone would love. He's just so nice towards others and he has such a welcoming smile! I love his warm smile! And his design is nice, too. They gave him a nice color palette. The way he uses a book to use his powers also has me going wild. It's just so cool! It makes me think of one of those overpowered wizards!
6. Thomas Andre
Thomas Andre just screams out brute power! He's such a rough and tough guy. I like how he just smashes eveything and how rough he is with his opponents. Whenever he walks next to someone he looks like a giant. That's really funny. And the way he transforms into an overpowered knight-like looking person is just amazing!
7. Lui Zhigang
His mysterious and dark aura makes him really appealing. He doesn't have a lot of screen time, but he is such a cool person. He's so powerful, and yet we haven't seen him fight once. But the way he has awesome panels in the manwha makes up for it. His panels are always either dark and mysterious or beautiful.
8. Woo Jin-Chul
Woo is in my top 10 because he has such a calm and mannered personality, even though his stress level is at 100% everytime we see him. He always manages to find a solution to a problem. When he stopped Baek and Hwang from a fight, we saw his true power. Even though the two were S-ranks, he stopped them. Yes, his arm throbbed in pain, but he still stopped them, which means he's strong.
9. Choi Jong-In
Choi is a sly, but calm person. I love how he's with Baek 90% of the time. They're always bickering together and throwing a tantrum. Yet he still manages to do his job properly and clear most raids easily. I love his design a lot and his attacks are awesome, too.
10. Hwang Dong-Soo
HEAR ME OUT! Hear me out! Dongsoo may not be the nicest person, but the way he's shown in a dark and mysterious way has drawn me to him. He also strikes me as one of those complete douchebags with a slightly soft side. He came over to Korea, all because someone killed his brother. Now their band wasn't too good, but he still cherished his brother from the inside. Even if it's just in the slightest. That means he has a soft side and I love him for that.

5 times Choi Jong-In looked out for Baek Yoon-Ho + 1 time he didn't
Finally finished the first chapter
Full chapter also posted below:
Baek Yoon-Ho hated dealing with the media.
Yoon-Ho always tried to avoid answering their meaningless questions, especially since the reporters were irritating with their methods. The questions they were currently asking him were about someone he didn’t even know.
However, he couldn’t help the frown deepening on his face as the reporters continued prodding him for answers, despite him telling them that he had nothing to say.
As he grew increasingly frustrated at the insistent questions, Yoon-Ho heard the familiar baritone voice speaking to the reporters.
“Mr. Lee Min-Sung has already signed a contract with the Fiend Guild,” Choi Jong-In responded politely. “Guild Master Baek and I are here for something else today.”
Disappointed, the journalists stopped questioning them, though that didn’t deter the photographers from snapping pictures of them.
While Yoon-Ho was relieved with the reporters no longer hounding them, he despised how Choi Jong-In was here for Sung Jin-Woo as well. He had already seen the redhead when the new S-Rank was getting re-evaluated the first time.
Yoon-Ho knew the other guild master wasn’t completely unaffected by the presence of a press conference like he was pretending he was though. He could see the way Choi Jong-In squinted slightly at the flashes of the cameras since the mage was sensitive to such lights, despite his efforts to hide his discomfort behind a polite smile. The media may not have noticed it, but Yoon-Ho could with his enhanced senses and far too much experience dealing with the other man.
Shifting so that he was close enough to the shorter man to speak to him without being overheard, Yoon-Ho casually mentioned the most recent news he heard about the Hunters Guild.
“I heard,” the taller man began with a grin. “The Hunters Guild also had a close call.”
The Hunters Association tried to keep the matter quiet due to Sung Jin-Woo’s involvement as someone who has not yet been announced as an S-Rank. However, it wasn’t hard to find out what had happened after actively looking into it. After all, it was difficult to keep people quiet, especially with that many people there.
Yoon-Ho had a satisfied smile after watching the mage’s smile slightly fade after hearing what Yoon-Ho had said. However, his moment of triumph was short-lived.
“Well, at least we didn’t lose any A-Rank recruits like the White Tiger Guild did,” Choi Jong-In said casually.
Yoon-Ho scowled at the other guild master’s response as the deceptively kind smile Choi Jong-In typically had came back.
Yoon-Ho took a moment to calm himself, especially since people were still photographing them.
“It seems we both received help from that hunter,” Yoon-Ho stated instead as he glanced at the crowd.
The other man hummed in agreement. “If he hadn’t been there, the entire second-tier team would not have survived. Which is why...”
Choi Jong-In said as he turned to take a step toward Yoon-Ho and looked up at him in a confident manner. “We want to recruit him to our guild. It would only be right for us to do so.”
Yoon-Ho grinned mockingly at the shorter man as he also stepped closer until his forehead nearly touched the other guild master’s.
“Our guild has lost members, so it would make more sense for us to recruit him to enhance our forces.”
Choi Jong-In grinned back at him as he narrowed his eyes, visibly alight with mana that caused them to shine a bright magenta even behind his glasses.
“Why would you need an S-Rank to enhance your forces? Are you trying to start something?”
“I could say the same to you. Since when did you do what’s morally right?”
As Choi Jong-In was going to respond, another voice interrupted their dispute.
“What’s up, you two? Are you arguing over Minsung?” Lim Tae-Gyu laughed as he approached them, grinning.
What the hell is he talking about?
Yoon-Ho was already dealing with one annoying guild master sticking his nose into something he didn’t need to. He didn’t need another one to prevent him from recruiting Sung Jin-Woo to his guild.
“I don't give a damn about Lee Min-Sung, or whatever his name is!”
The response took Lim Tae-Gyu aback as he looked at them.
“Gee, what’s up with you two?”
Yoon-Ho paused briefly as he realized Choi Jong-In had said the same thing he had as he turned to look at the other man. The redhead smirked at him, causing Yoon-Ho to scowl at him.
“Oh, it’s not something you need to be concerned with right now,” Choi Jong-In replied to Lim Tae-Gyu. “Maybe you will a little later.”
He then walked past the Fiend Guild’s guild master with Yoon-Ho following him, leaving behind Lim Tae-Gyu who was more confused than before.
The two S-Ranks walked past the reporters into the building. Yoon-Ho sighed in relief as the noise of the group and flashes of lights were dulled by the doors, and he could see Choi Jong-In relax slightly as well with the way tension visibly left his shoulders.
“How did you know Sung Jin-Woo was an S-Rank?” Yoon-Ho questioned the mage as they walked further inside the building, away from the chaos outside. As far as Yoon-Ho knew, Sung Jin-Woo tried to keep his information as hidden as possible. The only reason he knew was because Ahn Sang-Min got involved with him, which led to him meeting the other hunter at the Red Gate.
“Hm?” Choi Jong-In looked at him with an innocent smile while tilting his head to the side to look up at Yoon-Ho. “Oh, I have my ways of finding out.”
Yoon-Ho narrowed his eyes at Choi Jong-In’s response. The most likely answer was that he was near the building where Sung Jin-Woo had retested out of pure coincidence. He didn’t know why it was so difficult for the mage to answer such a simple question. Giving vague answers was just one of the reasons he found Choi Jong-In so annoying to converse with.
“The Hunters Guild must be doing very well if you can afford to have the time to do such research.”
Yoon-Ho knows Choi Jong-In would work 24/7 if he didn’t need to eat or sleep just to survive and if it was socially acceptable. Even Woo Jin-Chul didn’t work to that extent, and the chief inspector was, unfortunately, given a lot of work against his will.
The S-Rank mage hardly engaged in matters that didn’t concern his guild, so it was strange how quickly he found Sung Jin-Woo, who was just an E-Rank before his re-evaluation.
“Well, I need to be aware of everything that involves hunters to look after my guild matters properly. But I’m sure you’re already aware of that as a guild master yourself,” Choi Jong-In said with a sly smile.
As Yoon-ho narrowed his eyes at the mage, he heard footsteps steadily getting louder in their direction. Even before he looked to see who it was, he could already feel the great yet familiar mana presence of the person.
Turning his attention to the figure approaching them, he saw Chairman Go Gunhee approaching them with a smile.
“Good morning, Chairman Go Gun-Hee,” Choi Jong-In greeted with a bow, a gentle smile quickly replacing his earlier sly smile.
Yoon-Ho also bowed as the chairman greeted them.
“Good morning. Are you two here for the new S-Rank hunter?” Go Gun-Hee questioned.
“We are,” Yoon-Ho stated. He didn’t see a reason to lie as there wasn’t any other reason for either of them to be here. He noticed from the corner of his eye that Choi Jong-In was glancing at him for answering the question for both of them.
“I’m afraid you’ve come rather early. He won’t be arriving for another hour,” Go Gun-Hee informed them.
“I’m fine with waiting,” Yoon-Ho replied. He decided not to answer for the other guild master as he didn’t seem to appreciate the thought.
“As am I,” Choi Jong-In answered with a smile that seemed slightly more genuine than before.
Go Gun-Hee smiled warmly at the two of them. “Is there any reason why the two of you came together?”
Yoon-Ho was so taken aback by the question that he didn’t know what to say. It wasn’t until he heard Choi Jong-In clearing his throat after a few moments that he realized the chairman was still waiting for an answer.
“We just happened to arrive at the same time,” Choi Jong-In stated with a nearly imperceptible strain in his voice. “It was not our intention to enter together.”
“Ah, of course. You two always seem to be with each other so often that I assumed you came together. My apologies.”
If Yoon-Ho wasn’t embarrassed before the chairman’s most recent comment, he certainly was now. He didn’t even want to see how Choi Jong-In reacted to hearing that.
He couldn’t help the fact that they always seemed to run into each other, no matter how much Yoon-Ho tried to avoid it. Every time there was an issue with ownership of gates or recruiting highly ranked hunters, the sly fox would be there, smiling like he had not done anything wrong.
The three of them exchanged more words regarding their guilds until Go Gun-Hee excused himself first.
As the chairman walked away, Yoon-Ho took the opportunity to glance at the other guild master, who was now looking at his phone, from the corner of his eye.
He didn’t know how much Choi Jong-In knew of the Red Gate incident that Sung Jin-Woo helped with or if the mage knew he had been trying to recruit him for a while, but Yoon-Ho was certain Choi Jong-In already knew far more than he needed to know.
The White Tiger Guild had claimed the number one spot among the major guilds soon after Yoon-Ho had left the Fiend Guild. Yoon-Ho needed help in creating the guild, but it was still an accomplishment he was proud of.
Then the fire mage came out of nowhere and rose in the ranks before quickly claiming the spot of the top guild in Korea. And if that wasn’t infuriating enough, Choi Jong-In acted as if he didn’t know what Yoon-Ho was referring to when Yoon-Ho finally accepted the Hunters Guild overtaking the White Tiger Guild enough to congratulate the other guild master. He knew the mage was more than aware of what he was congratulating him for.
“Is something the matter, Mr. Baek?”
Yoon-Ho blinked until he realized that Choi Jong-In had stopped looking at his phone and was now looking at him with a raised eyebrow, his ruby eyes appearing to almost glimmer in amusement, possibly as a result of his glasses.
“It’s nothing,” Yoon-Ho stated as he looked forward again to compose himself.
The Hunters Guild’s guild master stared at him but didn’t get the chance to say anything as he head Go Gun-Hee approaching them with the newest S-Rank hunter.
______________________________________________________________________
Yoon-Ho couldn’t believe his eyes as he saw Sung Jin-Woo leap over the reporters and disappear from their sight. He knew for certain that the hunter was not that powerful when he saw him before-
“Baek, your eyes??”
Yoon-Ho was startled upon hearing Choi Jong-In’s voice and realized he had accidentally used his Eyes of the Beast.
“Ah! M-my apologies,” Yoon-Ho muttered as he quickly covered his eyes and turned away until his eyes returned to normal.
He didn’t understand how Sung Jin-Woo had become stronger than when he had last seen the hunter. Sung Jin-Woo had awakened a long time ago, so it didn’t make sense for him to become even stronger than before.
Could he be a hunter who can constantly level up?
Just as he had reached that conclusion, the same voice broke through his train of thought.
“Excuse me, Mr. Baek? Are you alright?” Choi Jong-In asked as he moved closer to Yoon-Ho, concern evident in his voice which sounded somewhat softer than his usual tone.
Yoon-Ho turned and stared at the other guild master for a brief moment before looking elsewhere. He must have shocked him with his Eyes of the Beast if Choi Jong-In, the man he has always known to be impeccable in controlling his demeanor, made the mistake of dropping the honorific he used to address him.
Yoon-Ho shook his head as he rubbed his temples.
“I just got light-headed for a moment. I’m fine.”
He could feel Choi Jong-In’s acute gaze on him, scrutinizing his appearance which Yoon-Ho knew was less than ideal, especially for someone as observant as the mage. He knows the mage didn’t believe him, but Choi Jong-In didn’t question him further.
“You’re still young,” Choi Jong-In finally stated lightly. “You should take care of yourself more.”
Yoon-Ho didn’t reply and could barely pay attention to what the redhead was saying as he looked in the direction Sung Jin-Woo had taken off in. As he thought of the possibility of Sung Jin-Woo getting even stronger than he was now, he closed his eyes to regain his composure but couldn’t suppress the shiver he felt overcome his body.
Yoon-Ho was so lost in his thoughts and taken aback by the discovery of the extent of Sung Jin-Woo’s strength that he was startled by a sudden warmth against his forehead.
Looking down, he became aware of Choi Jong-In holding a hand against his forehead, likely to check his temperature. He wasn’t sure if he could even tell if Yoon-Ho’s temperature was normal based on how warm his hand felt, but the redhead’s furrowed eyebrows and worried ruby eyes snapped Yoon-Ho out of his thoughts again.
Yoon-Ho quickly pulled away from the shorter man and realized that the Hunters Guild’s guild master had somehow gotten him back inside the building, including closing the door to give them privacy. He had not felt Choi Jong-In taking him inside and realized that he was more affected by Sung Jin-Woo’s mana than he had expected.
The redhead blinked at him before lowering his hand and taking a step back as if to give Yoon-Ho space as he adjusted his glasses, hiding his face from view briefly with his hand. Raising his head back up, he looked at Yoon-Ho once again before seemingly judging him to be well enough.
“You should head home,” Choi Jong-In told him in a steady voice, any trace of concern he had gone from his face. “It’s not good for you to overwork yourself.”
Yoon-Ho didn’t get a chance to respond as the redhead turned to take an exit that wasn’t swarmed with reporters. He could only watch him silently before walking toward a different exit to his car.
Any thoughts he had about Sung Jin-Woo were replaced with ones about Choi Jong-In. Despite knowing what the mage’s intentions were a large majority of the time, it was moments like this that Yoon-Ho didn’t understand him.
Choi Jong-In didn’t attempt to figure out what was going on like he normally did, always having to know everything despite it being none of his business.
There was also obvious concern he had in his strikingly ruby eyes that couldn’t be hidden behind his vibrant red bangs and glasses. And the way the mage continued to check to see if Yoon-Ho was okay and went so far as to shield him from public view, despite gaining nothing from doing so.
He had never seen Choi Jong-In express that much emotion in front of anyone, especially him, other than the time Yoon-Ho had gone to his office to speak with him about the Jeju raid. Even then, the other guild master had turned to look out the window when he was struggling to keep his composure before turning back to him once he was calm again.
For the mage’s sake, Yoon-Ho never mentioned how even though Choi Jong-In wasn’t looking at him, he could see the pain on his face from his reflection in the glass window.
Yoon-Ho wondered if Choi Jong-In had some hidden agenda like he typically did when discussing guild matters. It wouldn’t be the first time the other guild master did such a thing to get what he wanted. He didn’t get the Hunters Guild to become the top guild in Korea by being kind to people after all.
He shook his head to clear his thoughts as he got inside his car, thinking he was overanalyzing the other’s actions. The redhead was likely just worried about him losing control of his powers after seeing his Eyes of the Beast suddenly appear for no apparent reason.
As S-Ranks, they were already seen as monsters in a sense with how their power was immeasurable. They didn’t need civilians seeing his beast-like eyes to add to the rumors people liked to spread about them. It made sense for someone like Choi Jong-In, who took great care in his appearance to the public, to not want Yoon-Ho to tarnish that reputation.
He couldn’t remember when Choi Jong-In had last seen his eyes like that unless they happened to be raiding together, which was rare. There was nothing else the mage could want from him other than for him to be more cautious around other people since they were both S-Ranks, so when one of them acted out of line, it would reflect poorly on all of them.
When Hwang Dong-Soo left for America, their reputation as S-Ranks took a hit, and false rumors about them started circulating. It was only thanks to Cha Hae-In’s awakening as an S-Rank soon after that people stopped spreading so many rumors. However, it didn’t prevent them from trying to find reasons to get more information on them.
There was no other reason for Choi Jong-In to be interested in him if they didn’t affect the man himself. After all, they could barely be around one another without having some sort of disagreement.
Yoon-Ho sighed as he got into his car and loosened the tie around his neck to allow himself to finally breathe properly. Hopefully, he wouldn’t need to deal with all this drama anymore, whether it was the reporters, more S-Rank matters, or Choi Jong-In.

"Cha Yeo Woon's life and my lousy life can find happiness too."
I was wrong. Tae Myung Ha’s behaviour didn’t change after learning that him failing his mission, that him failing to make Cha Yeo Woon happy, would cost his life. What does it mean really? What does his mission truly entail? Making sure his presence brings Yeo Woon happiness? And what about when he’s no longer around? How will Yeo Woon feel? What happens to him when he’s no longer there? What does it mean to make Yeo Woon happy if his happiness is as ephemeral as his presence in the same world as him?
Myung Ha is aware that the clock is ticking. Not just because of the time reminder that unexpectedly appears in front of him, he knows he was given a mission in this game in which he knows the main character more than himself.
Although the lines are becoming blurry between the real and the virtual world (him wondering who that “senior” is in ep 4 when he rereads his notes in his notebook hints at this blur) he remains aware of the short time frame he has to make that happiness – that vague idea as his senior describes it – real for Yeo Woon. But you know what? It’s never been about Yeo Woon’s happiness. Not really. As early as episode 1, Myung Ha makes a parallel between his life and Yeo Woon’s, saying that people who have led miserable lives can become happy. Myung Ha refuses to be defined by the life he has led until now. It kills him to know that his senior thinks someone like Yeo Woon is doomed to live a miserable life. That’s why one of the first things he does when his world collides with his is to look for the boundaries Yeo Woo has(n’t?) defined for his happiness: when did he ever feel remotely happy (“Cha Yeo Woon, have you really never felt happy while you run? Never. Really? You can be… dumb sometimes.” (ep 2)), Does he want to eat an ice cream? Does he want new shoes? What are you looking for Cha Yeo Woon? What makes you get up in the morning when the sun rays gently hit your face? How long have you been this lonely? How cold do you feel inside? Why do you feel like you don’t deserve my kindness? Why does your voice break when you talk about yourself? Why do I feel like your eyes hide a pain whose depths I can’t fathom? Why do you hate yourself the most? Why does it bother you when I hang out with Sang Won? You said I didn’t know anything, then tell me, what am I missing?
If happiness was something Myung Ha could give to Yeo Woon, he would give it to him, in an instant. But happiness is not something you can give to someone. It’s something you invite in and let the other decide if he’s willing to let it come in. But how can Myung Ha teach Yeo Woon to welcome happiness when he has never been able to do so himself?
Tae Myung Ha is the kind of person who forgets himself when he cares for someone. Although he knows his penalty is death, although the debuffs affect him physically, he brushes it off easily. Because his senior has given him the power to make his favourite person happy. However, it scares him to have such a power because it means that, ultimately, Yeo Woon’s happiness will rely on his presence by his side. When Kyung Hoon mentions how they’ll be drinking together in their twenties, Myung Ha is startled: what do you mean I’ll be part of your future? I mean, can I? Will I? This realisation shocks him. What do you do when you’re supposed to be the key to a locked door only for the door to change lock as soon as you open it? What is he supposed to do? Isn’t it cruel? Make Yeo Woon happy only to leave him behind? This matter of time frame is exactly why he easily shakes off the idea of dating him in ep 1 because he is convinced he won’t have time for it to happen. A relationship builds itself with time and time is what he doesn’t have, not really anyway.
I like how time is depicted in this drama, how it perfectly encapsulates how incomprehensible its cogs work. Myung Ha has only been around for less than two weeks and yet he’s already had a huge impact on the people around him: he became Kyung Hoon’s friend, Sang Won’s new obsession, Si A’s helper/part-timer, and Yeo Woon’s light. Everything is happening so fast and yet it all makes sense. It doesn’t feel rushed at all because it’s Myung Ha. Because he’s the kind of person you grow attached to quickly. Because once he enters your life, he rents a piece of your heart for an indefinite amount of time. His presence feels warm and his warmth feels so normal that you let it sink in, thinking it’ll forever be there to melt your inner winters.
I can’t wait to see how Yeo Woon will return his warmth, how he’ll make Myung Ha happy without him realising. I know the heartbreak will come but for now, I’m expecting some more sunny spells.
#love for love's sake#연애 지상주의 구역#krama#cha yeowoon#tae myungha#myung ha x yeo woon#*enjoy my nonsense#*l4lsanalysis#I mostly wrote this for myself but I thought I might as well share it instead of letting it sit in my drafts forever

5 Korean Drama villains who stole the show
1. Ok Taecyeon as Jung Joon Woo
Here comes the most favored in Korean drama villains in K-drama history – Jung Joon Woo of Vincenzo played by 2pm’s Ok Taecyeon. The psychopath Jung Joon Woo appears to be a good-looking, kind lawyer at the beginning of the drama but unexpectedly he turns out to be the villain.
He does all sorts of messed-up deeds from unethical business practices to murdering people after people. He doesn’t even hesitate to torture his own brother and eventually to kill him for money and power.
But you know what is the most attractive thing about him? That he actually falls in love with the female lead Cha Yong, played by Jeon Yeo Bin. He even gets angry at his brother for sending goons to Cha Yong’s house trying to hurt her.
And when he confesses his love for her, keeping her at the gun point, you can’t tell me your heart doesn’t flutter at his weird antics.
I mean even though he is evil, he is still a guy who fell for a girl, that’s kinda sweet and we love a good red flag here.
All the praise goes to Ok Taecyeon for his phenomenal performance as Jung Joon Woo. His effortless acting skills made it possible for us to love Jung Joon Woo despite hating him so much.
So, without a doubt Jung Joon Woo is one of the most successful Korean drama villains of all time.
2. Lee Tae Ri as Imoogi
Next in our list we have the most underrated Korean drama villain in my opinion. While Lee Rang is constantly being mentioned as one of the most loved Korean drama villains, we are sleeping on Imoogi.
Lee Rang is certainly an important character and he plays his part as the antagonist of Tale of The Nine Tailed but he is not the actual villain, that’s Imoogi.
Imoogi is a legendary character that is often mentioned in Korean folklore. In the drama too, Imoogi is a cold-blooded negative power who emerged after sleeping for so long. He constantly challenges Lee Yeon, spreads deadly diseases, hypnotizes people, and makes them do whatever he wants. In one word, he is sly and evil.
He even tries to snatch Lee Yeon’s love interest, so cruel, isn’t it?
But his loneliness is often visible through his evil exterior (and that is what made me absolutely weak).
About Lee Tae Ri, this was his big break and he absolutely slayed it. He performed exceptionally well especially when his co-actor was someone so popular and experienced like Lee Dong Wook. and His dedication to play the character with perfection has made Imoogi one of the best Korean drama villains ever.

episode 12, last episode!!
obligatory "i'm gonna miss them" but truly, bae in-huyk and lee se-young formed such a happy, sweet, natural couple. aaah, what a treat it was to watch them play off each other so well.
turns out, i felt more emotion for joseon tae-ha that i expected. i was so attached to the swindler/troublemaker couple, i kinda forgot how nice a character joseon tae-ha actually was. i am glad they stuck to the two tae-has being distinct and separate characters, even if they're connected/reincarnations. ultimately, yeon-woo is in love with HER tae-ha. it ticks my boxes. yet i thought it was nice joseon tae-ha wasn't sidelined or dismissed as an afterthought; his storyline was sad, but it was given proper weight and gravitas. my soft little heart...
i can't believe we actually got one more (short) but cute brothers scene (last episode they were playing games with the little cousin i cry). i didn't quite get a hug, but eeeh close enough, AND tae-min switched to calling him hyung, which is more than enough, and was on my wishlist hehehehe. as an added bonus, tae-ha also dropped formalities with our MVP, Sung-pyo, firmly accepting the hyung/dongsaeng dynamic I'm OVERWHELMED THIS IS A CASUAL HONORIFICS LOVER BLOG
i would have loved for yeon-woo to come back to new joseon through the hotel pool once again, we would have come full circle and the reunion would have been less stilted! but overall, a sweet and unexpected love story. they avoided playing straight into my most hated, overplayed tropes, and that alone kinda makes up for some of its flaws.
in conclusion, please, i do NOT wanna see that cliff again in 2024. it's been in every fucking drama i watched lately; either retire this rock or find a new location for dramatic deaths.
#the story of park's marriage contract#kdrama#lee se young#bae in hyuk#i hope their next respective dramas are at least as good as this one#so i can enjoy my multi-dimpled little guy#and my radiant shiny girl#i loved lee se-young in Kairos if anyone wants a rec#also kinda sad that this show felt kinda drowned in a sea of so many other past lives/fake marriage/timeslip dramas in 2023#bad timing for real

Imagine a solo leveling au where the korean s_rankers meet their most challenging ever in the history of dungeons. The scenario is called survive high school drama. In this scenario, you have to act based on the system giving you a role to play aka as school stereotypes. If you succeed, you get amazing upgrades and a weapon. If you fail the role, you have to read fairy tale books that are like dr seeus and grimm fairy tales.
lmaoooo that'd be so chaotic!
The S-Ranks as high school stereotypes? Hmm. . .
Sung Jin-woo
definitely an emo. The system will give him that role and he will do it naturally. All he has to do is wear black, stay quiet, and do whatever he wants by not bothering people.
Cha Hae-in
I imagine her as a "popular girl" for a challenge and she won't likely do a good job on it. She hates attention and being gawked at, preferring to be alone or with people closest to her. Yep, she will end up reading fairytales instead.
Choi Jong-in
shockingly for him, the system gives him the nerd role. He will probably do well. . . Or not. Nonetheless, he won't mind reading Grimm's fairy tales.
Baek Yoon-ho
a jock, to be precise. I think he will do well in his role as he's already got the looks and demeanor, but he can't stand acting tough all the time. He gets through the challenge and hopes to forget everything he had done for the system.
Lim Tae-gyu
the class clown! Of all the S-Rankers, he is the one who hates his role the most. It feels an insult to him. He fails a few moments later, but Tae-gyu still hates it since he's not fond of reading fairytales, and at least it's better than acting like a clown even though he is.
Min Byung-gyu
this man will squeal if he gets the nerd role. Or theater kid. Either way, as long as he gets to talk about history, he will be fine. Though, he might request the system to let him read Hans Christian Andersen stories despite succeeding the challenge.
Eun-seok
maybe "popular guy"? Lol, he'd mess his role just like Hae-in. Or not at least, since he's friendly and wouldn't mind communicating with others while ignoring how annoying it gets. Plus, he likes challenges, and will likely fail on purpose just so he can read the "punishment" books.
#not including dong-soo (he does not belong with the s-rankers) and dong-wook (he gives more teacher vibes)#solo leveling#manawari talks

random thoughts about tell me that you love me, episode eight
(the rest is under the cut because i'm worried about your eyes having to read ALL OF THAT and this post might contain spoilers)
I have a love hate relationship with the scenery in kdramas because I want to live there but I can't 💔
The more I learn about jin woo, the more I feel for him. He had to adapt to the school because no one knew sign language. It's unfair and I wish the school offered him some help but alas, he grew up in an area where not a lot of things could be done to help him.
It's cute how jo han wants to make things right with mo eun after his reaction to the dating news. Proves that he's a great friend (even though he wishes he was more to her)
The four leaf clover thing is cute beyond words. It's incredible how the only people jin woo gave them to are his best friend and his lover 💖
Where can I hire a jung mo dam to cook all my dishes? If anyone knows please hit me up ;)
Jo han not wanting mo eun to come to his house is so me. I am torn and too awkward to say anything lol
This drama is filled with nosy people. First mo dam seeing his sister with jin woo, then mo eun eavesdropping on ji yu and now jin woo's student catching his teacher with his girlfriend. Girl, I would have fit right in. I know it's bad but sometimes I can't help being nosy like that lol
The aquarium scene is so beautiful, there are hearts in my eyes 😍
Jin woo slowly but surely involving mo eun in his daily life, that's character development. It's so sweet to see him open up little by little to her.
It's sad to see sometimes the only option for bullied kids is to let out all their anger and frustration at once by using violence. We don't know much about tae ho (I think that's his name?) and if he tried telling people (teachers or other adults) about the other kids bullying him but it feels like there's no escape for him. And resorting to violence was his last option because he can't take it anymore. And the bully has the nerve to say "The one who's hit sleeps better at night".
It's heartbreaking to see the kid trying to end it all by using a brick against his bully. Shows how much violence he went through. What's even more heartbreaking is him being able to raise his voice at other people but being almost defenseless when it comes to his bully. The mental toll and control a bully has over their victim is unimaginable. Tae ho raised his voice at jin woo because the latter didn't help him the other time, not knowing jin woo is deaf. But it shows how desperate victims are. They're searching for a helping hand, no matter who it is because the weight of it all is too much for one person. I wish the bullying would stop and the bully to be punished accordingly. They want to scream and ask for help but most of the time, it's either of two things: the victim can't because they know there will be repercussions or their cry for help falls on deaf ears (pun unintended).
On a completely unrelated note, seeing and hearing people write on paper is so relaxing to me. I could fall asleep to it.
Take this from someone who never wears makeup but I find it funny when in a drama, they show someone putting on makeup because it seems like there is no difference. I don't know how to explain it but it looks like there's no product on the palette/conceler/blush things and it's just for show. I shouldn't have written about this because the lack of skills and vocabulary is obvious 💔
Mo eun and jin woo are facing the first obstacles in their blooming relationship. Jin woo because he can sense mo eun's family and friends are a bit iffy about him. Mo eun because she fears she won't be able to communicate as fluently as seo kyung can with jin woo. I hope they face all hurdles together and find a solution together.
I'm happy that mo eun and jin woo are friends with so hee and her husband (what's wrong with me today? I can't remember anyone's name) so they can see that despite it all, love triumphs and they live a happy life together
I like that she reassures him she's feeling comfortable in their relationship.
Ji yu is such a great friend, defending her friend and letting the parents know her boyfriend is a good person. Thank you for being the best of friend ji yu.
THE KISS!!! don't mind me i'm going crazy haha
It was a cute episode. I liked it.
For those reasons, I'm giving it a 9/10
#you have no idea how many times i began writing the wrong name and correcting myself in the middle of a sentence#the struggle between watching the episode and falling asleep was real lol#i can't wait to see where the plot will go#random(al) thoughts#kdrama#tell me that you love me

The Story of Park's Marriage Contract (2023)
Okay, here we go. I didn't expect this drama to leave such a deep impression inside me... I simply tried to watch it because "oh, the premise sounds interesting" then I went into a rabbit hole.
What I'm really surprised was, I cried from the first episode. I remember how the past Tae Hae left me a deep impression just like how Yeon Woo was longing for her late husband. But this drama touched a trope that has been bugging me for years watching reincarnation drama. The future Tae Hae doesn't want to be the replacement of the past Tae Hae, that is what the future Tae Hae points out to Yeon Woo before their relationship goes further. And Yeon Woo admits that she sees him as different person no matter how both Tae Hae are so similar.
At first, I'm really happy for that trope, because despite being the reincarnation, both Tae Hae are different people.
But the last episode of this drama broke me like nothing else would. I really didn't expect for Yeon Wo to go back to Jeoseon, met her husband there and severed their marriage there. It broke me to piece and I'm reminded that I cried for the past Tae Hae in the first episode.
The past Tae Hae doesn't do anything wrong (he just did what he thought the best given the situations), he is simply unfortunate because Yeon Woo already gave her heart to the future Tae Hae, not him. Not even the striking similarity and his sincere approach waves her, and it broke me. The past Tae Hae, while having better end than the previous time line, still ended rather tragic because Yeon Woo refused to give her heart to him until the last moment.
The fact that not even how the past Tae Hae saw his future self doesn't wave her and she stays firm to the end, with his love being unrequited forever.
This is what I really love but also hate for this drama. I'm amazed that Yeon Woo stayed true to her heart and differentiated between her (ex) husband and her future lover. But my heart broke for the past Tae Hae because boy, he is really simply unlucky.
I mean, if only Yeon Woo can comfort him for his last moment, maybe I won't be so broken-hearted like this, but again, that is what I love and hate from this drama.
I think the past Tae Hae also deserves love, even if just a little, from Yeon Woo. Rather than him only being the bridge of how Yeon Wo and future Tae Ha can be reunited again.
If the drama left me unsatisfied, then I should just write it on my own. Right. Let's do it!
PS: But it is just me hoping to make a fanfic about this drama but whether I have enough motivation to do is a different matter

After paying more attention to Yuta I can now agree with the author, his crush on WinWin was real, same with Woo (although this new one is less serious). And he is probably bi, he just wants to love and to be loved (the words he said about Doyoung, but in truth are about him). And the real shift in his dynamic with Do actually happened after the 2nd anniversary (remember how he took a glass with vine away, preventing Do knocking it with his arm? the care he didn’t show before. also during one of recent vids (was it guessing k-pop songs by emoji?) he stroked Do’s back, consoling, which I’d never seen before).
This is from your blog and sorry for for bringing out the past but I have a doubt here..you said yt shifted his dynamic toward dy happend at second anniversary I.e after jaedo comeout right? You meant he started to care for dy right? Then how was it before? Does he hate or ignore dy? I knw they were like tom and jerry before not dislike though...I dont understand can you explain? And if yt is bi like you said does it mean he ever had a crush on dy? Did you felt like that? And what about now ? Do you think he have a crush on mark or ty or woo? We dont knw unless he tell us but did you felt it? That's it for my doubt can you clear it?? And thank you in advance....
When I just came to the fandom, YuWin was super popular, much more than YuMark. Many said Yuta had a real crush. As a newbie I thought it was the normal shipper's talk and YuWin was just fanservice. It's after I saw Yuta with Woo I went back and reevaluated YuWin (that, and NCT Life in Seoul). I think it was a Yuta and Hansol moment that persuaded me Yuta is bi. He was young and couldn't control himself yet (same goes for JaeDo, they were much more obvious with their flirting and crushes, as well as reactions to other men, during trainee times).
I know there are rumours about Yuta dating a man nowadays, he was seen with him in cafes and such, but I don't know how grounded the rumours are as I don't specifically look for more info on the topic.
I had a post on DoYu, the shift. Yuta started to change his attitude earlier than the anniversary. During Chain era, if I remember correctly.
Yuta always liked Do, he was just jealous of him. Yuta wanted to be a singer in the group, he didn't want the dancer position he was basically pushed into. Remember how he said he once bought a ticket to Japan without telling anyone, it was Rino who stopped him and made him believe that he also has a spot, a role in the group, that everyone is important.
We don't talk about the elephant in the room, but Yuta did several cosmetic surgeries, he had (and still has) problems with self image. Do's nosejob just lifted up the tip of the nose, Yuta really changed his face. And 2017-early 2018 was his lowest time, I think. He became a changed person with Regular (he accepted his dancer position, started dancing properly, started taking singing lessons and actually consulted Do on vocals, seeked his help).
I think DoYu getting closer was the result of Yuta himself changing for the better (he stopped being envious and petty) and JaeDo being an example of following their feelings (getting together instead of supressing), coming out to the group and being accepted.
I'm positive Yuta has no crush when it comes to Mark, he is just comfortable with him. I don't know about Tae, however, I doubt it (I don't remember any sus moments). The crush on Woo is probably over, but I need to watch something and re-evaluate.
I've never considered Yuta having a crush on Do, to be honest... I do think it's plausible looking at Yuta's behaviour (he is Do's secret fanboy, actually listens to his non-NCT songs). Not a developed crush, just "ah, what a nice person, I get these fuzzy feelings when he cares about me". A possibility that never was explored because Jaehyun claimed Do first. A crush on a dear friend. DoYu wouldn't have happened in any case though, I always struggle with this ship in fanfics, it's just hard to imagine. Yuta noticeably goes soft when someone shows him love, he craves love.

The Heavenly Idol - Kdrama Review
Ah I am currently in a drama slump and I can't seem to get out of it. I decided that I needed to watch a drama that is silly yet romantic with a side of comedy to help me. That's why I decided to pick up The Heavenly Idol that just finished airing last week.
The Heavenly Idol is about Rembrary (Kim Min Kyu), a Pontifex from the Other World who finds himself being transported into this world as a washed-up kpop idol boy group member Woo Yeon Woo. Naive to how this world works, he tries his best to navigate his way around while trying to stop The Evil One from causing chaos. Luckily he got help from Kim Dal (Go Bo-gyeol), who is a new manager working for his idol group.
Tbh when I read the summary of the drama, I was intrigued. The genre of the drama is labelled fantasy romantic comedy so I was expecting a good time. But did I had a good time? Not really.
This drama is ultimately a fantasy drama however this is one of the messiest fantasy drama I've ever watched. The inconsistent world building and random introduction of important characters without proper explanation threw me off. Just as I thought I am starting to understand how the magic works, they introduce new powers and restrictions.
Rembrary is supposed to be powerful although naive but I feel like he was too naive and useless in this world while he constantly needs saving from the mess he creates. He has the power to heal people and that seems to be it? Probably the only reason why I don't hate the character is because of Kim Min Kyu. He introduce cute little quirks that made his character endearing to watch. Like how obsessed he is with snacks. Tbh, Kim Min Kyu definitely hard carried his character to the finish line.
I don't know if this is a low budget drama but the actors acting as idols still seems very new and awkward, which can be distracting to watch. That being said, special shout out to this two characters that I enjoyed watching. Kim Dal and Choi Jeong Seo.
Kim Dal as a character is very relatable as a kpop/kdrama fan. She was at her lowest when she found hope in Woo Yeon Woo. I love that although she is a fan of Woo Yeon Woo, but as their manager, she remained professional and did not ignore the welfare of rest of the members in the group.
Choi Jeong Seo is the leader of the group. He embodies what is it to be a leader of a struggling kpop idol band. He's love for his members and his passion for what he does make his character very charming. Not to mention the actor playing the character (Hong Seung Bum) kinda looks like Choi Tae Joon to me.
Overall, this drama definitely did not bring me out of a slump. Instead I finished all 12 episodes within the day thanks to the fastforward button. But was it silly? Yes. It is silly to the point that it is ridiculous. The chemistry between the main leads is gold tho. I honestly wouldn't mind the same pairing but with better script and storyline.
I'll only recommend this drama if you have time to spare and if you miss Kim Min Kyu's cute face from Business Proposal.
Rating: 2/5

Boys Planet | Episodes 5&6
Finally, the second round of performances. I thought that the bad performances would have stopped in round one. However, here we are with more bad performances. I'm mention them from least to most liked by me, so keep that in mind.
Vocal + Rap
#4 Not Spring or Cherry Blossoms - I expected a shit show, and it was okay? I Chan did good here, his voice was really pleasant, but I don't think any of them will survive.
#3 Limousine - it was fine. Their voices were good together, but nothing much tbh. For this team too, I don't think any of them will survive
#2 Man in Love - I liked it a lot. It's weird how Taerae looks like Seokhoon, could have fooled me that he was Taerae's dad hahahaha. Is it weird that, although I'm not voting for him, I want Tae Rae to make it into the group? I think that one Taerae will survive from this group
#1 Tomboy - everyone already sort of expected this performance to be good, and it was. Props to Zhang Hao for placing first, but Gunwook was better over all (but I may be biased as he is my one pick). Everyone will survive and Gunwook will make it to top 9 and he will stay there (saying it to the universe).
Vocal + Dance
#4 Feel Special - I knew that it was going to be bad, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. Woongi carried the whole performance on his own and still didn't manage to get first place because, like I have always said, Koreans vote with their asses. The guy who placed first, I don't care enough to look for his name, was terrible in every sense of the word. He got to perform the song he wanted, feel special was his pick from the moment it was announced, and he didn't even try to pull his weight. The amount of anger I have towards this guy is not even funny. I swear to God that if I see anyone saying "he has to debut" I'll pick a fight because dude can't dance, can't sing and isn't a team player so what the fuck does he want. Woongi maybe has a chance to survive, but indont think any of the others will
#3 Butterfly - the dancing was good, as expected, but the vocal part fell short. Everyone will likely get eliminated
#2 Home - this was a very hard song to cover, seventeen sings very high, and their dances are really hard. I really like Jong Woo, I hope that he can make it all the way to the final, and if he makes de debut group I won't be angry. I think Yunseo (?) Will probably be eliminated but I hope not.
#1 Love Killa - only placing it as number one because they had no issued vocally and their dancing was good. But I would easily place home as number 1. Seowon is in risk on elimination.
Dance + Rap
#4 Rush Hour - it wasn't bad, but it also wasn't good either. I don't know. It felt like they went on stage because they had to, and that was it. They didn't look like they enjoyed it at all. I know that there was some evil editing, but some stuff weren't either, so their lack of teamwork made the whole stage sort of fall apart. Most likely, only Ricky will survive.
#3 Zoom - I thought that whoever got this song would have to work extra hard because it's not the best, you know, but they managed to make a fan stage and they really looked like they were having fun. I love Keita so much, I hope he makes it to the final lineup (it looks like he will, considering the current ranking and how much people seem to like him). Keita and Haruto will for sure survive but the others, probably not.
#2 Gang - ah this fucking meme song but they did so well. Junhyeon is so funny, and he didn't want this song at all but managed to do a great job. Seunghwan, too. He got the song no one wanted and turned it into something great. I love it. Seunghwan may survive, Junhyeon too.
#1 Law - to me, the best performance of this round. I hate how that stupid master has been crushing Yujin from episode three and how the kid looks like he's about to throw up every time he sees him but he's sooo good with his dancing and he can improve I'm his vocals, yes, but he's going through puberty so his voice is yet to change. Yedam was so good, Hanbin was great, Wang Zihao gets no screen time although he is possibly the best dance in the whole fucking show and it pisses me off. I hope he survives. Yujin and Hanbin and the only ones I'm certain of.
I want to briefly mention the ranking from last week and the 12th place announced from today.
Taerae made it into top 9 but Hui dropped out of the top 9 and that worries me. I don't think he will have the same arc as Yujin and he won't make it into the final lineup. I think a lot of people voted for him as a filler vote.
Jiwoong also dropped a little in ranking. However, he is still the top 9. I think he also may have had a lot of filler votes
Jay is no longer in the top 9. He dropped to 12th. Like Hui and Jiwoong, he probably got a lot of filler votes, but now that things are narrowing down, he lost those votes. It happens. If he dropped, there's a chance Gunwook will be in the top 9.
I will never shut up about Gun Wook in this show, okay? I want him to make it, so just deal with it.

CLOSED STARTER + DAIYU CHEN WITH TAEWOO KYO , @paradiserots !
as a soldier for the DEAD HAND, tae-woo decided to work as a bartender at the olive branch martini bar. though it was a process, it was quick all around. “hello, boss número dos.” the young man greets miss daiyu chen, seeing his boss— the owner as well— right when he walked into the bar. always early, never late. tae-woo was a fine bartender and quick with his hands. was he a baddie? well, that’s somewhat debatable, considering how punctual he was. guess you could say he has a good work ethic. “do you want me to do anything— clean, maybe— before we open up? hate to say i can never remember our work hours.”
