TRI 1-Fleischer Studios & Walt Disney studios
Max Fleisher. Born in Poland, Fleischer immigrated to the United States where he co-founded Fleischer studios along with his brother Dave Fleischer in 1929. He was famously known for his tv shows Popeye, Betty Boop and Koko the Clown. Betty Boop was his most successful cartoon. Her design was inspired by a popular singer Helen Kane. She was featured in 90 theatrical cartoons between 1930 and 1939. Max and Dave who ran Fleischer studios, had to put their studio to an end in 1942when paramount became the parent company and the distributor to its animation films. In its prime, Fleischer studios was a premiere producer of animated cartoons for cinemas with Walt Disney Productions being his chief competitors in the 1930’s. Today the company is again family owned and overseas the licensing and merchandising for its characters.
Walt Disney was one of the most well-known animators even today. He was an American animator, film producer and entrepreneur. He introduced several developments in the production of cartoons he holds the most academy awards earned and nominations by an individual, having won 22 Oscars from 59 nominations. He first set up the Disney brothers studio with his brother Roy then developed the character Mickey Mouse in 1928 who was first featured in a short film called Steamboat Willie which was his first highly popular success and in the 1950’s he expanded the amusement park industry and in July 1955, opened Disneyland in California to fund the project he diverse into television programmes such as walt Disney’s Disneyland and The Mickey Mouse Club.

Slow In and Slow Out
Slow In and Slow Out describes the tendency of things to come to rest, or to start moving, in a progressive way. This is a principle that most people understand pretty quickly, as it’s easy to observe in life. This principle tells us that when we animate something moving from a stop, the spacing of that object needs to progressively increase (widen) until it gets up to speed, at which point the spacing becomes relatively constant.
Spacing is a term that comes from the days of animating on paper. It’s slang for movement from frame to frame.
in the early days of hand-drawn animation, even spacing was commonly used (which gives the same effect as linear tangents in Maya). No slow out, no slow in, and equal movement between every drawing. The movement was abrupt, then smooth, and mechanically unnatural.
animators came to realize that objects accelerate when they start to move and therefore, they needed more drawings there. This became known as a slow out, because the extra drawings slowed the action down at the beginning of the movement, just like in real life. the gradual reduction in speed when coming to a stop, again portrayed by extra drawings, became known as slow in. By varying the number of in-betweens, the nature of the slow in or slow out is made more gradual or more rapid.
Max Fleischer (born Majer Fleischer July 19, 1883 – September 11, 1972) was a Polish American animator and studio owner. Born in Kraków, Poland, Fleischer immigrated to the United States where he became a pioneer in the development of the animated cartoon and served as the head of Fleischer Studios, which he co-founded with his younger brother Dave.
He brought such comic characters as Koko the Clown, Betty Boop, Popeye, and Superman to the movie screen, and was responsible for several technological innovations, including the rotoscope, the "follow the bouncing ball"
By 1914, the first commercially produced animated cartoons began to appear in movie theaters. They tended to be stiff and jerky. Fleischer devised an improvement in animation through a combined projector and easel for tracing images from a live-action film. Which was known as the Rotoscope.
Max Fleischer's Betty Boop character was born out of a cameo caricature in the early Talkartoon, Dizzy Dishes (1930). Fashioned after popular singer Helen Kane, she originated as a hybrid poodle/canine figure and was such a sensation in the New York preview that Paramount encouraged Fleischer to develop her into a continuing character. While she originated under animator Myron "Grim" Natwick, she was transformed into a human female under Seymour Kneitel and Berny Wolf and became Fleischer's most famous character.
Popeye became one of the most successful screen adaptations of a comic strip in cinema history. Much of this success was due to the perfect match of the Fleischer Studio style combined with its unique use of music. By the late 1930s, a survey indicated that Popeye had eclipsed Mickey Mouse in popularity, challenging Disney's pre-eminence in the market.
Dave Fleischer worked as an usher at the Palace Theater on Broadway, where he was exposed to vaudeville. This experience contributed to the development of his sense for gags and comic timing, which came into play when he joined forces with his older brother, Max in the production of animated cartoons.
he became interested in being a clown for one of the sideshow amusements. This clown character would be recalled a few years later in connection with Max's early experiments with his first major invention, "The Rotoscope" and was the source of their first character who evolved into Koko the Clown in the pioneering series, Out of the Inkwell.

Actually it is Warner Brothers / DC Comics IP and apart from the characters' first appearing in Sandman, is actually based on the comic that followed that was written by Toby Litt and Mark Buckingham with art by Buckingham and Gary Erskine. Gaiman was a consultant, but the series was developed for HBO Max originally, and Steve Yockey who wrote the back door pilot in Doom Patrol and was co-showrunner of the series along with Beth Schwartz .
In comics, all of the IP belongs to the publisher. and so while certain characters may be created by credit, rarely if ever does any of the money go to the creators. for example, Bill Finger and Bob Kane created Batman, Seigel and Schuster created Superman, and Jack Kirby and Stan Lee created Captain America. But until recently you rarely saw their names on screen.
Feel a little... conflicted over Dead Boys Detective being cancelled cos what does this mean for media adaptations containing diverse casting and characters? Then on the other hand, it's an adaptation of a Neil Gaiman IP and I don't think that fucker should get to keep earning money.

Hello, my name is Haze. I’d like to give you an introduction to the official page for a story I call City of Glass.
First a disclaimer, City of Glass is the third iteration of a story created years ago, meaning most things are being reworked from the ideas of children. As of posting this we are in no way done with sorting our list of characters, so the amount may seem small.
And now another disclaimer, City of Glass contains sensitive topics such as physical and emotional abuse, alcohol/drug abuse, crime, crime often associated with the mafia, mentions of the mafia/mob, near death experiences, actual death, weapons, probably incorrect explanations of weapon making, does capitalism count? And possibly a few I’m unable to list at this time
As I said you can call me Haze. When referring to me please use They/them or she/her. I am the one who does most of the writing for City of Glass, I also handle a good portion of the finalized character designs. Character groups such as the Rikke family, the Valdis family, the Ariston family, and the Ealar family belong to me. I suppose I also handle a few miscellaneous characters who lack last names.
Let’s move onto the co-owner(?)
We’ll simply refer to her as G. When referring to her use she/her. While she does some of the writing for City of Glass, it’s mostly small bits that will be added to the longer writing I will post online. G obviously does designs for her characters, but leaves me to add more details due to our differences in experience. She handles characters such as the Halloway family.
You can ask anything! The only guidelines are that they don’t get too personal when it comes to me and G, and refrain from explicit/nsfw asks for now.
You can even ask things directed at select characters(children and few others are currently off limits at this time)! It’ll give us an excuse to write more about them. Asks related to G and her characters will take longer to answer however.
To expel any confusion, here’s a list of who you can ask/ask about.
Real:
Haze

Fictional:

Jack Valdis

Ray Ariston
Darius Ealar

TRI 1- Week 2 Bouncing Ball Animation + Squash and Stretch
Week 2: On the 2nd week we had to develop our bouncing ball animations from the first week, so I decided to make a tennis ball bouncing through a basketball hoop and the reason why I used a tennis ball instead of a basketball is because I wanted it to be different and that basketballs don't have that much bounce as a tennis ball does.
An example of an animator who used this in his animation was rubber hose animator Max Fleisher. Born in Poland, Fleischer immigrated to the United States where he co founded Fleischer studios along with his brother Dave Fleischer. He was famously known for his tv shows Popeye, Betty Boop and Koko the Clown. Betty Boop was his most successful cartoon. Her design was inspired by a popular singer Helen Kane. She was featured in 90 theatrical cartoons between 1930 and 1939.
There has been minor revitalization in recent years with a modern example of the 2017 video game cuphead, developed and published by studio MDHR This game has been inspired by the rubber hose style of animation and used in cartoons from the golden age of american animation such as Walt Disney Animation and (the mentioned) Fleischer studios

Welcome To Derry estreia em 2024 no Max.

A prequel TV series to Stephen King's IT has been in the works at HBO Max for months, with The Hollywood Reporter confirming today that the project, known as Welcome to Derry, has officially been ordered to series at the streamer. Director Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti, who developed IT and IT CHAPTER TWO, are involved in the project, while IT CHAPTER TWO producer Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane will serve as co-showrunners. Andy Muschietti is confirmed to be directing episodes of the series, including the debut installment. Stay tuned for details on Welcome to Derry. Given the title of the series, the show is expected to unfold in the small Maine town in which the original King story takes place, and the project is expected to "expand the vision" of the source material. While Pennywise the Dancing Clown was the main threat of the original story, it's unknown if the figure will factor into this series or if it will merely explore a number of other unsettling experiences suffered in the town. "As teenagers, we took turns reading chapters of Stephen King's IT until the thick paperback fell to pieces," the Muschiettis revealed in a statement. "IT is an epic story that contains multitudes, far beyond what we could explore in our IT movies. We can't wait to share the depths of Steve's novel, in all its heart, humor, humanity, and horror." "I'm excited that the story of Derry, Maine's most haunted city, is continuing, and I'm glad Andy Muschietti is going to be overseeing the frightening festivities, along with a brain trust including his talented sister, Barbara," King shared. "Red balloons all around!"⚡️🍿🍿🎈🔪 #comiccon #spoilermagazine #news #losangeles #podcast #magazine #art #instagram #galaxy #film #tv #hollywood #feature #movies #fandom #graphicdesign #nyc #spoiler #comicconradio #comicbooks #it #horror #horrormovies (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpKW0Zhrnt8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
