Wicked Zenobia’s origin story

Zenobia’s full name is unknown and so is the place she grew up in. Some believe that she’s from Skull Island. But not all of her origin is a mystery. She was the daughter of an infamous Witchdoctor who has a more mysterious past than she does. The only information we have of him was that he belong to a group of pirates called the Sailors of the Spiral, which included Jenny Carrington (Buccaneer), Emile Beaufort (Swashbuckler), Leonardo Ferrari (Privateer), and Alfred Davies (Musketeer).

When Zenobia was 9 years old, her family and a close friend named Mike were killed by pirates. She was also killed in the mutiny, but was saved by a Krok witch named Kamilah. She took her to her homeworld, Krokitopia, and resurrected her in the Tomb of Storms.

Although the resurrection was a complete success, Zenobia became a completely different person. Her hair turned white, lost her memory, and her behavior was odd. Kamilah trained her in the ways of magic, which felt right at home with Zenobia. The citizens of Krokitopia were scared of her. Thus giving her the name of Wicked Zenobia.

When Zenobia was 14, she left Krokitopia and travelled to Skull Island to get her memory back. She met up with a Water Mole Witchdoctor and they practiced hoodoo together to find out about her past. But it was immediately interrupted by the Armada, who outlawed all magic. The Water Mole fled but Zenobia was arrested.

She was thrown into the brig of an Armada ship with included five other orphan pirates. Oddly enough, they were also children of the original Sailors of the Spiral. Wolf (son of Jenny), Maeve (daughter of Emile), Roberto (son of Leonardo), and Timothy (son of Alfred). They would escape the brig and reform the Sailors of the Spiral.

Realizations pt. 11

*eyewitness spoilers ahead TW: murder, drugs*

-wow, why has it taken me so long to watch this show

-this show was so well done. shots were beautiful, characters were so well developed, acting was actually good!

-can I just say that, Philip and Lukas look so damn good together and THANK YOU to the writers and producers for giving us so much CONTENT of the touching and being lovey ahh

-I feel that they accurately portrayed a teen relationship. most shows leave any pda or any actual touching to the climax to make people wait for it but I was so happy to see them actually be together, cuddle, kiss, hug, just even their hands touching. 

-the intertwining of the story lines (murder and sexual struggle) was amazing and I loved watching it

-STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS, YES PLEASE

-I was just so drawn into this show, I watched it all in like 3 days between exams

-they mentioned foster care! and showed how the system sucks! but also showed how some kids can be happy! and not all foster parents are bad! they showed parents who try! and parents who want to succeed! and bring joy! ahh!

-I just wanted to know Ryan’s motives. like why did he kill all the people in the cabin (including the spy). why did he continue going. why was he in a relationship with Bella. how did Bella end up there? why was he so entwined with Bella’s family?

-the trauma and fear and after effects of witnessing a homicide was so real and was actually addressed which made me happy; it wasn’t just oh they were shot, lets move on to our own story line.

-Gabe is just a pure soul and I love him with all my heart

-HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING (if you can find it on youtube or somewhere online and don’t mind it possibly being backwards)

Networks, please, pick up a show with continuity, characterization, and chemistry so on-point with predominant feminist and LGBT representation.

Why doesn’t anyone ever talk about how revolutionary Eyewitness is? Like, I know I say it a lot in comments when I’m freaking out, but there’s a reason I love this show.

I’m not saying there aren’t shows that are just as good or better, and I’m not saying Eyewitness is perfect. Yes, there could have been more P.O.C, they didn’t have to kill off Anne or Sita. USA did a terrible job promoting and when they did, they sexualized Philip and Lukas. Granted, what the USA network did wasn’t Eyewitness’s fault, but still.

And yet, despite its flaws, this show is so important in so many ways.

Not only do they have POC characters like Kamilah, Sita, and Tony, but every single bad guy in that show is white. The Viscovies are a white drug-dealing family. That simple fact alone helps to beat away the stereotype that drug dealers are POC/all POC are drug dealers. And Ryan Kane, the main villain, pedophile and murder, is an attractive white male in his thirties. You never see that on TV, yet it’s one of the most realistic things.

Aside from that, this show also turns the tables so well on gender roles when it comes to parenting. Helen Torrance is a sheriff, while her husband, Gabe Caldwell is a stay at home dad/vet. Helen is also the one that’s distant and damaged, which that role is usually the father. Also, while the father is usually the addict on TV shows, the one that has to get his act together for his kid, Anne Shea is a drug addict. And they don’t dehumanize her either, like a lot of shows do for addicts. They show you how much she loves Philip and how hard she is trying to be better for him, even if she falls a few times. Also, I find fathers seem to be dead a lot on TV, but Lukas’ mom is the one dead, which isn’t really important, but I just thought it was interesting.

Speaking of Lukas’ parental unit - Bo Waldenbeck. Now, I talk a lot about how much I dislike Bo, but he really isn’t as bad as I make him out to be. Yes, he abused his kid. Yes, he was a bad father for a long time. But, the important thing is that he worked past his own problems enough to tell Lukas he loved him after finding out he was gay, even if it took a little help from Gabe. Usually when a parent on TV is homophobic, they stay that way.

Another thing is this shows inclusion of strong women and women in power. Helen is the sheriff of the police department of Tivoli, and was a detective when she lived in the city. She’s amazingly independent and doesn’t rely on Gabe for anything. Then there’s Kamilah Davis, who is just as strong. She plays an important role in the FBI and even though she has weakness - her sister, her interest in Ryan - she is still unbelievably strong. And even though Sita and Anne have a lot of flaws, they are both strong women who didn’t deserve the deaths they got.

And the most obvious point of the show is the fact that the two main characters are boys in a relationship. Neither of them are what you would consider stereotypically gay, in fact, Lukas is exactly what you’d think someone straight would look like.

But, that’s exactly the thing. Neither of them are straight. They are both gay and in love with the other. Philip is very okay with who he is, while Lukas is very much not.

Speaking of Lukas, he is a seriously important character. Not only does he help touch on internalized homophobia - more than touch, I should stay, he is so deep in internalized homophobia - but he also has mental health issues beyond that. He has serious anxiety issues along with suicidal tendencies. He struggles so much and yet, he still manages to slowly work through it to change himself into a better person. When I talk about Lukas inventing character development, I’m not joking around, he has some serious character development.

Another thing, Lukas and Philip, as well as Helen, all deal with PTSD, Philip and Lukas from the murders and Helen from what happened to her in Buffalo.

Overall, Eyewitness is ridiculously good at incorporating important issues and characters and I’m sure there’s even more stuff that I missed. Seriously, this show is so amazing in so many ways and there is no way it deserved to be cancelled.
