⋆ quality time is a big one for kamala. it's her main love language ! she absolutely loves spending time with the people she cares about, especially you, so naturally she's drawn to wanting to spend most of her time with you ! doesn't matter what she's doing, if you're there she's having fun !

⋆ kamala adores physical affection. from hugs, to resting her head on your shoulder, or holding your hand, she loves it all ! she's a total cuddlebug and is 1000% not afraid to show it !

⋆ gifts from kamala are one big guessing game. the range of things they could be is infinite. even so, she usually goes for the plushie route ! it's the easiest option to resort to, and her favorite ! as a lover of plushies herself, you should expect to get a lot of them !

⋆ when it comes to acts of service with kamala it comes in helping out your whole family. she'll help out with dishes, setting up the table when she stays for dinner, or even bringing in groceries. anything your family needs help with that she can chip in on, she will !

⋆ in all honesty, kamala doesn't think she's the greatest when it comes to words of affirmation. she tries her best when you need reassurance, but usually goes back to the basics and just ends up using another love language to cheer you up !

Especially when the powerful antagonist is also not white male. You don't say. And the supporting roles have men but one is black and the other is Asian and rest are muslims?! So cruel!!! And even the lab tech minions are black and brown ?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There ARE MORE CATS THAN WHITE MAN?! I am shocked? Shocked that they hate it. Must be the bad acting of Oscar winning lead and critically acclaimed directors fumbling, can't be anything else. Am sure all the reviews are unbiased. So sad.

I'm actually pretty mad. This isn't as simple as budgets. Removing Kamala's polymorphing is a huge crime against her character tbh.

In the comics, when she gets her powers, the first thing she ends up doing is shapeshift into Carol Danvers. Because she feels safer that way. It's all about her bad self image. She feels out of place everywhere. She wants to be someone else. Ms Marvel is everything she isn't: classically beautiful, strong, not to mention white. It's a commentary on beauty standards, on hero worship, and on insecurity.

Her initial arc is about embracing who she is. She has to stop chasing after the example of Carol Danvers. She has to make Ms Marvel her own. She rarely if ever changes her appearance later on. It's still something she *can* do, but the point is that she doesn't need to; she doesn't need to be the picture of western beauty to be a superhero. Her powers are weird and gross because that's part of what the story is trying to say.

Removing all that and replacing it with... glowy hard light powers is just.... Cheap. It cheapens the story. It cheapens why I like the character. I don't like it. Boo.

The Marvels trio consists of an amnesiac woman with PTSD, an overworked astronaut with major emotional trauma and a sixteen-year-old forced to confront the horrors of war when she should be fighting low-level crime at most. How the FUCK are they the most emotionally healthy and responsible team in the MCU.

if you told me there was a mcu movie featuring a cats the musical song, two alien species of the queerest looking people ever, including one that can only communicate through song and dance, mentions of fanfiction, three female superhero leads, only one of whom is white (and she has multiple romantic coded interactions with other women), found family, and iman vellani living her best life?? i absolutely would not believe you. anyway everyone should go see the marvels.

One part I really liked in The Marvels was after Carol snaps at Kamala during battle she apologies?? And says “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have spoken to you that way”?? Like she understands that Kamala is young and looks up to her, and considers that her being harsh could hurt her confidence?? Tony Stark would never I’m just saying
