Last show I saw: I was rewatching Kaleido Star and it’s so cute.

When did I create my blog: November 2010, lordy

What do I post:  Cirque du Soleil and general emotions regarding same. some general circus, some Office, some Mad Max, some of whatever I think is funny or interesting. the occasional fanwork or personal post.

Last thing I googled: “USPS tracking” because I tried to renew my drivers license but NY State kindly let me know that my passport has an ERROR and I needed to send it out for correction before I go to Italy in EIGHT WEEKS. In State Department time, that’s no time at all!! I had to expedite it to put my heart at ease!

They listed my middle name as my last name. The State Department looked at my passport renewal paperwork last March, looked at all the ID material I sent them, thought long and hard about it, and concluded my full name must be Katherine Lastname Lastname. What the fuck. 

Any other blogs: A handful. I have four Cirque-themed names saved in case I ever want to switch (though I doubt I will), an rp blog that is mostly pics of weird birds and gut-wrenching love quotes that is a true pleasure to scroll through, and a Highly Embarrassing Secret Blog that’s poorly password protected. Anyone who finds it will surely know it’s me and guess the password right away, and at that point they’ve earned its secrets so who cares.

Do you get asks?: On occasion, and usually in waves. I looove getting those flurries of CdS asks.

Why did you choose your URL:  "Sweep” and “seven” are two positions/movements of flying trapeze. Every rig has its own variations on the calls for a basic swing, but I learned them as “back, up, extend... hollow, sweep, seven.” Anywhere you go, you can count on the sweep and the seven in particular to refer to two essential positions for every trick. Sometimes I wonder if it reads as “sweeps even” online rather than “sweep seven,” but it’s definitely the latter!

Types of blogs you follow: I feel like I followed a lot of circus blogs back in the day, but either that crowd isn’t as active now or my ratio has changed. Now I couldn’t even tell you. Most of them are multifandom mixes of whatever the fuck like mine, and some have nothing in common with me at all and would never follow me back but I like their art or Photoshop work or whatever. 

Favorite colors: Royal blue, eggplant, wine red.

Avg hours of sleep: 7 during the work week, 9-10 on weekends 😎

Dream trip: I dunno! I’m lucky enough to travel a few times a year, so I’m not pining for any single vacation in particular. I’d love to see Japan one day, or go on a safari, or some US National Parks. 

What are you wearing?: black longsleeve tee, jeans, a beautiful wool scarf that I don’t wear enough because it intimidates me and I feel like I never tie it properly

How many blankets do you sleep with?: Three. Four if it’s frigid, two in the summertime. 

Dream job: I think I’m in it. Or rather, the dream is a higher up version of where I’m at. But I love my company, I love my industry, and even on my worst day I feel so incredibly lucky to have landed here. 

Favorite foods: pretty much any seafood pasta, good ramen, a classic burger or turkey sandwich.

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

Cheating fics, especially when all parties involved are treated somewhat sympathetically. Also, I like student/teacher romances. Preferably in college, though, when the student is old enough to legally consent. Oh, and priests breaking their vow of chastity! … I really like forbidden love, okay?

M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?

Metamorphosis - This is kinda a prequel to my fic To Be By Your Side that explores how Helios became priest of Elysion.

Stolen Dreams - An incubus infiltrates (a grown-up) Chibi-Usa’s dreams and impersonates Helios in order to get revenge.

Good Catholic Boy: I’m not really sure I would classify as this being on the “back burner” since I’m almost finished and plan to post it sometime this month, but it’s another YOI fic. Jean-Jacques and Isabella end up breaking their vow to save themselves for their wedding night and she finds out she’s pregnant right before the World Championships.

I also have a sequel in mind for my current Kaleido Star fic, Friends With Benefits, but I don’t want to say too much about it and risk spoiling FWB.

S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?

Like I mentioned before, forbidden love is something I really enjoy. They’re in love, but for some reason they can’t be together…delicious angst! I also really love stories exploring family relationships. (Fics involving Rei and her father in particular are like catnip to me.) Oh, and pregnancy/baby fics! And friends-to-lovers! That’s probably my favorite. (Part of the reason I love Chibi-Usa/Helios so much!)
